Young's Handyman Services Plumbing Service
Trevor has been back to do some other jobs around the house.  It nice to have someone who is skilled and reliable.

Gibson Plumbing & Mechanical Plumbing Service
Gibson Plumbing was involved in two of our bathroom remodels, so when we had a issue with our water main we called Gibson Plumbing. From our initial call with Michelle to Cary's speedy survey of our issue and plan to solve our problem, we were very pleased.  Daryl and Sal arrived as scheduled and worked in less than ideal conditions between a tree and brick wall!  Cary returned review the job with us. We are very pleased with this company.  Thank you to your staff.

Johnson Plumbing Plumbing Service
Johnson Plumbing responded to a call for a drain clog in the kitchen sink. I was told that they snaked the pipe and fixed the clog, but found that the pipes under sink were configured incorrectly and the garbage disposal was leaking. The bill was close to $600. Two weeks later the sink was backing up again so called and asked for the same technician. They sent out someone else who snaked the pipe again but did not fix the problem. Instead tried to charge another $100 and told me they only had a 25ft snake and I would have to call another company. When I called them to address, they told me they would look into it and call me back. After not receiving the promised phone call back, I called again. They did take off the $100 - however did not offer to refund anything else and did not offer to fix the issue.  DO NOT USE JOHNSON PLUMBING - they do not stand behind or guarantee their work!

I sent a request for quote and not but 15 mins later, Janet called to arrange appointment same day. Luckily, Shawn and Justin were able to diagnose and fix both my running toilets upstairs. Very professional and great service. Shawn even checked a refrigerator issue for me. Thanks again for your prompt attention and quick fix!

JackRabbit Plumbing Plumbing Service
I apologize for the length of this review, however, I wanted to include enough detail that I hope will help anyone in need of this service circumvent the issues that we encountered and had to find out the hard and expensive way. Unfortunately, we had to learn the hard way/go through a couple of not so professional or honest companies before we found these good ones.  It took a bit of research and homework but was worth it in the end. I hope this information will be valuable to others who find themselves in this situation.
Scott from Jackrabbit plumbing was excellent. A real professional; he/his truck was well equipped... he had every tool, piece of equipment he needed (unlike the first 2 plumbers we brought in who didn't even have a ladder or maybe didn't want to get it off their truck). And most importantly, as it says on the side of his truck... he was HONEST! Rate and travel charges were fair and reasonable. When he accidentally broke a piece on our washer, he said he would either turn over to his insurance or come back with the part and repair it... a real class act.
We were referred to Jackrabbit by American Leak Detection Service from Stateline, NV, who also was excellent, btw. It was nice to have a more scientific approach to finding the leak, e.g. they used the inert gas helium to pressurize the system and a helium detector to hone in on the specific area with the problem vs. cutting open all of the walls and spraying with a soapy solution as had been used/recommended by the others who diagnosed/quoted the job. They found the leak within an hour of when they arrived. Fyi, Scott indicated that he also had a leak detector which used CO2, similar I imagine to American Leaks Helium detection which also may have been a viable alternative. Evidently, a professional plumber has this in his tool bag/has the capability to do smart detection as well. He did use CO2 via a tank he carried with him to pressurize the system, which probably aided him in confirming the leak as well. Again, he was well equipped and very professional.
Unfortunately, we had two other not very professional (or honest) plumbing companies come in and used the soapy water old school approach using only compressed air to pressurize the system, opened our wall for no reason, tore apart our fireplace, and were no closer to finding the leak than when they started not to mention left a gaping hole in the wall, a huge mess in our living room, and were very expensive for basically achieving nothing. And, they wanted to open more walls and recommended cutting/capping pipe to find the leak; I'm sure this would most likely have been the most expensive approach which worked out well for them, not so well for us. We figured that there had to be a better way. Btw, I will be posting appropriate reviews of these Angie List A+ Certified/A rated providers (Ha! Very misleading and not reliable at all!) re: what I thought of their service and character; see Angie's list and/or Yelp for these reviews.
Scott did use soapy water to confirm the leak, however, didn't have to track the leak that way or cut pipes to isolate the issue as he was informed as to where to look vs. the approach that recommended by our first 2 plumbers diagnosis. I still have to wonder why these other plumbers couldn't find the leak (it was a significant leak) with the soapy water as it evidently was easily identified by Scott when he used the soapy water (albeit, Scott did know where to look, however, he indicated it was very visible even with soap and water!?). It would appear they just wanted to spend as much time as possible just looking for the leak; might as well tear out a few walls while we're at it, right!? It's all billable!? We have a slab floor, so all of our pipes are in the attic with drops to each area requiring service, e.g. kitchen stove, dryer, etc. The leak was in the 90 directly above the dryer which should have been one of the first places it should have been found... fairly easily.
Jackrabbit/Scott was then able to confirm the source of the leak; he came right in, confirmed the issue and fixed it promptly. There was minimal invasive wall cutting; he cut into the wall only for what was needed, had the right too to cut the wall, and did a clean cut which will be more easily repairable.  Honest and professional. He even had his own ladder... imagine that!
We will use Jackrabbit for all of our plumbing needs in the future.

Wish I could rate this business better.  Unresponsive. Came out to do a quote on a Thursday afternoon.  Said would email me that evening or the next day.  I called at the end of the day on Friday and asked for the quote, said it hadn't been written up.  Now it's end of the day on Tuesday - 5 days later and still no one has gotten back to me.  Guess they don't need the business.

The one good thing I can say is that the company is responsive.  We were having problems with our hot water.  I was getting luke warm water throughout the house and the burner was not kicking on.  I called several plumbers and he was the only one that could fit me in that day.

45 minutes later I have the owner at my door.  That is decent service.  When he arrived.  I explained that we were having a bathroom remodeled and in the middle of the remodel we lost our hot hot water.  The guy came in our house looked at the remodel work.  Went back out to the garage and said you need a new hot water heater.  He did not even look at the water heater.  The house is 19 years old so we were more than lucky the original lasted that long.

He wrote the contract up.  $2400 for the installation of a new heater.  I am told now this is average.  The guy tells me that a guy will be out shortly to change the heater.  He starts to drain my old one.  As it starts to drain the guy realizes that water is coming back into the tank from the system and gets weird.  He figures out at this point that the rough shower valve that was installed in our bathroom remodel doesn't have a mixer in it so the hot and cold are mixing unregulated in the rough valve.  He figures it out, but does not tell me the problem.  He Quickly stops draining the tank.  Says something about the other guy will have to shut the water at the street leaves some materials for the other guy and bails.  He knows at this point that I do not need a heater.  He does not tell me that and leaves.

I don't figure out the problem until the other guy installs the new heater and we still have the problem.  We install the mixer and the problem goes away.  If my other tank was not 19 years old.  I would sue the pants of this guy.  He is a crook.

Never called me back.  I both spoke to their office person and left a voicemail.  Found a different plumber who actually wanted business, apparently.

Master Service Plumbing Plumbing Service
Absolutely the best in town!  Hands down!  Had problems with our water heater, on a Monday morning of all days.  Called and spoke with Josh (who is totally awesome) and he sent one of their service technicians (Robert) out within the hour.  Robert was very professional, gave me all my options while prioritizing the total cost to remedy.  We chose to replace the water heater rather than repair it.  Josh put us on the schedule immediately to have it replaced within the week.  He had a cancellation and got us on the schedule earlier than expected.  We had also called around to compare price as well as how soon it could be replaced.  3 other competitors were at least $600-$1000 more than what Master Service Plumbing quoted and they were 2 weeks out.  Even with being short technicians, they were still able to replace out water heater within 3 days!  Master Service Plumbing is the best in town!  Don't hesitate, just give them a call!
