I wouldn't normally give a 5-star review to an electrical company, but they were so easy to deal with, friendly, quick to come out to my house, and good at what they did, I feel the positive review is in order.  I also felt that the price was reasonable, relative to electrical work I've had done before in Dallas as well as San Antonio.

I am so happy to have found McDavitt Electric and Master Electrician, Clayton! I found him online and took a chance because he was within 5 miles of my house. He replied to my email within the hour, and made a same-day appointment with me. I had a long list of electrical jobs to be done, but one was a top priority. Clayton had it done that day, and I will have him back to work on the other jobs next week. He was punctual, friendly, thorough, and did excellent work. My husband and I appreciate the fact that he didn't offer us just one way to complete each job--he gave us several viable options and let us decide how we wanted to have things done. I trust him 100% to complete the work we want done, and look forward to having new outlets installed and new lighting in my kitchen! Call McDavitt--you won't be disappointed!

I had a great experience through out my projects with Justin and his crew. Justin was always responsive, showed up when he said they would, and was open to any changes that I had. This was very refreshing as most contractors I've dealt with have not been responsive and just randomly show up. I highly recommend Justin and his crew to anyone needing electrical work. The crew did great work for me and were a pleasure to work with. I'll definitely use Goat Electric again when I need more electrical work.

Scott did a lot of the electrical work in our last home, as well as changing out an amp/wall socket for a new dryer I bought. He works quickly, and is professional. Four days after my hip replacement our water heater stopped working.  We called our plumber and he couldn't find anything wrong with the coils, so the next morning I called a number of electricians, many weren't even available until the next week.  I then called FireFly Electric, I told them the same situation we were in and they made it a priority.  FireFly dispatched one of their supervisors to our house and found that our 30 Amp breaker had failed. I'm a curious person and enjoy learning and FireFly was very accommodating in educating exactly why and how the component had failed and what the current building code encompass and what was in place at the time of our construction.  He also told us about whole home surge protection which is something I'd been looking at.  

He was able to replace the failed breaker immediately and put our water back in service, showers and clean dishes for all.  I would highly recommend FireFly, prices are competitive and as a company they actually listen to their customers.

They did several installations on our house and we're very satisfied with the work and professionalism. They communicate, show up on time, and are skilled electricians.

Their office staff, Patricia and Cindy, do everything possible to accommodate your request for services and billing; and try their utmost to notify you if their is a scheduling problem or they are running behind. I installed a 7k unit in my home nearly two years ago. Since then all I have had is PROBLEMS. First, the unit was not installed correctly in that the drainage system was not hooked up at AT ALL. This caused a significant leak that started on the second floor and then finalized in a one meter water filled water balloon on the floor of the first floor. Yes, the leak went through the entire underflooring. They finally did repair the damage they caused, only after my wife threatened to call the BBB. We had bought the insurance plan they offer.
NOW for Chapter Two!

We had the CPS energy savers Home Energy Assessment(We strongly recommend it). We came this way to find out that the electrical part of the system had also been improperly connected. Somehow the technician figured out a way to engage the AC unit, even when the system is heating. The net result is an AC unit that is always on- even when the heater is on. Extra high power bills? You bet.
I called two weeks ago and left a message without a call back. So far I have been on hold for 25 minutes(!!!) after letting the front office person know I had a complaint about the installation( Now thats customer service)I guess they were waiting for me to hang up.

We woke up to learn all of the power to our office was completely out impacting our internet and wine fridge. Needless to say, we were eager to resolve the issue. I found Colvin Electric online and was lucky enough to get a same day appt (they had had a cancellation). First, I love that they text you when they're en route and provide a picture and qualification summary of the technician assigned to you. Awesome feature.

Our first technician Hayward was timely, professional and honest. He checked all the outlets in the office and said the outlet behind the wine fridge was likely the culprit but he couldn't access it as the fridge had been professionally installed. Our next appointment I timed to have the refrigerator repair man and the electrician there at the same time. That's not easy to do with lengthy arrival windows but Michael Galvez (Haywards manager) could not have been more accommodating or helpful. Candidly, the fridge repairman was extremely difficult to work with and Michael went above and beyond to help me manage an unnecessarily taxing situation. Michael was friendly, extremely knowledgeable in his trade, patient, and determined to get the job done right - which is exactly what he did. I honestly could not have been more thankful for him as a person and electrician that day. Bottom line, you get what you pay for with this company and I'll be calling them for any future electrical work we require.  MANY thanks again to Michael, Hayward and the whole Colvin Electric team.

Unfortunately I did not get the chance to work with this company.  The communication was poor in the beginning.  Was told I'd be on their back up list approximately a month out.  Never received the appointment text.  Called back after a couple of weeks to remind them of getting on the schedule for service at my home.  They set me up with an appointment on a Friday afternoon.  The gentleman came out briefly to look over my home and take notes.  Scheduled to come out over the weekend, something happened and he couldn't show.  We rescheduled for Sunday something happened again and he ultimately ended up no showing.  So it's Friday a week later and I message the main number.  I get a call from them and was told it sounded like my place was too complicated for them to service and to reach out to other places.  Then was told that they weren't taking on new customers at this time.  Had they told me that upfront I wouldn't be writing this review.  I was more than willing to work with them because they seemed like a good down home business, I was fooled.

Awful. Will not use again. Zero stars. Here's why; 1. He changed the scheduled appointment. 2. He didn't set expectations of cost up front (it's a minimum of 2 hours, costing $170). 3. He didn't have the  parts needed to do the job despite being told what was needed in advance, and even texted a photo of part that was failing - who goes to work without the proper tools? He performed an hour's worth of work, which would have been fine if he had done it right the first time. 4. Incomplete Work: I had to ask Adrian to return to finish the job correctly, specifically to replace a $12 part that should have been done the first time. 5. Attitude: Upon return, he was moody, irritable, and unapologetic having to come back to do what should have been done the first time. He didn't say anything after completing the work, he just drove off. Not professional. Find someone else.
