Vela Electric is owned by Mr. Joe Vela.  He is a well known person in this town.  We here at the Frio Co. Sheriff's Department have utilized his services for at least ten years and we find him to be a very reliable and fair manager of his business.  He will do almost any reasonable job, electrical and moving, plus he and his crew are trustworthy and punctual.  He will give you fair estimates before he does the job and he will tell you if the job is within the range of his companies' abilities or not.  You can be up-front with him and he will treat you respectfully.

I called Ronnie for help with completing electrical work that an inspector said needed to be done while I was trying to sell our house. He came out the same day and completed the work quickly and efficiently! Definitely recommend!

Very happy with our service visit today. Joe and his partner were professional, courteous and patient with us. They quickly diagnosed our breaker box issue and fixed it promptly. We will definitely use these guys again in the future.

After having several poor experiences with previous electricians, we searched Yelp for Elite and their reviews truly lived up. Andrew did a great job professionally fixing problems in a couple hours that others couldn't solve in days.  The owners even remembered us when we called for additional service. Truly outstanding service and a quality company!

On a Monday at 8:45 pm our main breaker switch overheated and melted, causing a power outage. I called SFX at 9:10 pm. SFX asked me to send photos of the panel and then gave me a reasonable emergency estimate. An electrician came to our house to perform the repair and had the power restored at 10 pm.  The online billing was fast and easy.  The service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend SFX.

I needed a light installed with motion detection as well as a few other things. Super polite and exceptional service. 10/10! I highly recommend!

Greg with GT electric came out to install new light fixtures throughout the house and put in new outlets on our outdoor patio. His work was high quality, efficient and he was very fairly priced. We will definitely call him back out for any future electrical work.

Larry and his son were great! Larry was very responsive and prompt. They were quick and clean with cutting into our wall to replace wires which made repairs easy. They installed GFCI plugs and made sure everything was working well!

They arrived on time and immediately went to work. We called them for a particular outlet and vanity light.  They checked all the outlets, installed new fixtures, plus more.  Very pleased with the work, pricing and the professionalism of the techs.  Will definitely use them again.

James gave us a quote. Spent a good amount of time to ensure I understood the process and gave some extremely helpful suggestions for our projects (install LED can light, wire and install ceiling fan and move light switch)

Will and another guy came to do the work. They were very conscientious about doing everything the way we wanted. They put up with our pesty dogs even!

Pricing was much more reasonable than other bids I had from LICENSED electricians. The best thing ABR has going for them is their outstanding communication. From the bid process though the installation process they never hesitated to pick up the phone and call or text if they had a question or update.  

We will be calling them soon to do our next project.  Highly recommend!

We decided to reschedule our appointment and we are glad we did. Excellent, fast work and the guys were very professional. They offered a discount for cancelling our original appointment the morning of which was appreciated. I would use this company again, hoping the scheduling issue was just a one time thing.

Excellent. Just moved into an older house with quirks. Had Mike install some sconces, replace a ceiling fan, change out some switches, and fix some issues with a GFCI outlet. He was super nice, quick, reasonably priced, professional, and did a great job. Will be calling him again for sure!

I recently moved into my new place and needed someone reasonably priced to install TV's. The guy was able to come in and do amazing work on 2 TV's. He even hid the wires behind the wall to make it presentable. I didn't even know that was possible. He also informed me he does other work such as artwork, curtains, and home theater installation. I have some more projects coming up in the future and will definitely reach out to him again. Highly recommended.

UPDATE: Still outstanding! Anthony came out to troubleshoot my driveway security floodlights which had gone into disco mode. Turned out I needed new fixtures, so he priced out cost of buying the lights through W3 or providing them myself with installation. I opted to buy new fixtures on my own. Called to schedule installation when the lights were available, and Anthony came back to finish the project. Everything went well but the fixtures needed adjustment due to placement of the sensor - the lights wouldn't turn off automatically in the morning. Anthony stopped by the same day I called to tweak the placement.

I'll continue to give W3 my business!

This company is sneaky, greedy and unprofessional - especially Larry and Joe. They are just not good people or right in the head. I would not even recommend them to my worst enemy. There are better, more reliable companies to seek out.

I placed a query on HomeAdvisor for an electrician to take take care of some lighting I would need installed on the exterior of my home.  One of the companies that called me was Electrician For Hire.  John was the guy's name.  He called me at 8 on a Saturday evening and we talked about the project that I needed done.  10-15 minutes later, John said he would have a guy out to the house the latest they can on Friday at 4pm in order to take a look and come up with a quote.  He said they stop work at 4:30.  No problem.

Fast forward to Friday.  At 4:10pm no one had shown up so I called John to ask about his technician.  He said they weren't supposed to be there until 5pm tonight.  He said it was in his notes.  However, in the Saturday discussion he told me his guys don't work past 4:30 and he asked me if his guy could be at the house at 4.  I was good with 4 because I was leaving town at 5.  I let it go for the moment as he said he would get someone out to the house now.  His technician calls and says he'll be happy to come out tomorrow (Saturday) in order to look over the project and deliver a quote.  I explained to the technician that this was outside the terms of agreement from John.  I told the technician to disregard and that I would contact John to cancel.

I sent a text message to John stating that I was disenchanted with the fact that his technician didn't even know about it until moments earlier, which means I was forgotten about, anyway.  I let him know that I will be looking for a new and more reliable electrician to handle my project.  John's response:  You Go Girl.  When I called to accost him of the disrespect, he stated, Look, I am making light of the situation.  Don't be weird about it.

Can John do the work? I don't know.  He can talk the talk, though, and make you feel like he's got your project covered.  Myself, I do not give my business to those who lie, forget, change times, or flat out disrespect.

My suggestion to those needing an electrician in my area, find a more reputable one.  Leave the kids out of your home projects.
