Certified Plumbing Plumbing Service
Talk about customer service! I reached out to several local plumbers about replacing a water pressure valve. Ronald responded almost immediately and gave me a very fair and honest quote. He was able to come the same day but due to my schedule I had to push it a few days. But the fact that he was able to offer meeting me within a few hours was amazing. He came at the time he said he would, texted when he was on his way, and got the job done quickly. He even responded to my follow up questions. 10/10!

PlumbV Plumbing Service
Unfortunately, the Management Team at PlumbV doesn't seem to value their customers any longer, so I'm done with them. Note that most of the positive reviews reference Matt Vanderwalker, the former owner / creator of PlumbV - he's no longer there and it shows.

I previously provided a 5 Star review, but have removed it because current management refuses to come correct an installation they did that never worked correctly. (Note: it has been a long time since they did the installation, but they don't refute that they botched the installation and they won't even consider coming to investigate without insisting that I pay them full price for a repair, even though nothing has broken)

I have spent a huge sum of money with them and worked with them for over a year on a full renovation of my house. It's sad to end this relationship, but that's the decision of the new management.

Matthew's Plumbing Solutions Plumbing Service
What kind of a scam is this??!  See if you can follow this one.  I had purchased a dishwasher with installation included but the store would not install it because the shut off valve was soldered to the water line.  So I was looking to schedule a plumber to come later in the day as the dishwasher was redelivered.  That way I know if the dishwasher is working fine and have time to address return or repair.  When I called Matthews and sent a picture of the soldered valve, they told me a dishwasher installation is $225, and replacing the valve would just be charged hourly at $150/hour.  She reassured me the pricing basis is hourly and I could expect to pay for one additional hour on account of the soldered valve needing to be replaced, $225 + $150.  This was very clearly stated and I felt my questions had been covered.  I coordinated the delivery and the plumber, and made sure their schedule allowed enough time; I was told, the appointment allows two hours and that should be enough time to take care of the valve.  Then the plumber was sick so installation was rescheduled 2 days after delivery 10-12.  Then there was a cancellation so the appointment was moved up 9-10:30.  Then the plumber arrived at 9:30 and was in a super hurry to get to the next appointment while pointing out to me all kinds of problems that are going to run the time and costs up and make him late for his 11:00.  Oh, I didn't know you were on a slab...  Uh, a lot of people are on slabs.  Shouldn't someone have asked that on the phone? He tells me all kinds of reasons he will have to charge much more than I was told on the phone, he is going to have to cut the dry wall under the sink because he can't go straight down into the crawl, and I will need two valves instead of one, for both hot water and cold water.  I don't know why I wasn't told that on the phone.  But of course I needed my dishwasher installed.  So I told him to go ahead.  Then after he finished in under two hours, all I could see is the very result that was explained to me on the phone.  I tried to get an explanation of what was different, but he was agressive about collecting and in a big hurry.  And he was not the one I spoke to on the phone.  So I called the office and get this: now they say they charge $225 for dishwasher installation and $150/hour labor, for all hours, and $225 does not include any labor, that is the dishwasher installation.  Huh?  Now the final price came to over $525 and the dishwasher was already there as was the installation kit, so all the materials that were provided were the two valves.  So I was charged for 2 hours over the dishwasher installation price at $150/hour and told that I had received a $100 discount!  Also I was told of another discount since the plumber and tech were actually there 2 hours and change (a lot of time was going over gradiose reasons for the price switching, and asking if he can play my grand piano after he has been under the sink cutting drywall.)   When he changed the valve, he also told me he would have to charge extra for taking out my garbage disposal; and I said if I knew he was going to remove and reinstall the disposal I might have picked up a new one since mine is old, and to this he says, a new disposal is $250, I have one on the truck, and that is the cost of installation which does not include the price of the disposal.  Let me figure this out, to put the same one back in there is the hourly labor charge but to put in a new one I would pay for the disposal plus labor hours plus $250 for disposal installation?  Huh?  Now let me comment on the installation itself.  It was rushed.  Even though I was standing there asking for the plumber to do certain things for me, and being charged hourly, he was not about to do anything but a rush job.  I asked if he would make a nice square cut of the drywall so I could repair it easily.  Is it square?  No.  I asked the tech if I should get my caulking gun from the shed so I could seal behind the dishwasher when the old one is pulled out.  He told me, no they have caulk and they'll take care of it.  Did they caulk?  No.  All I got was a tirade on why I will have to call an electrician to get a plug under my sink.  The wire was coming out from a tear in sheetrock from the floor up a few inches.  I asked if I could get a cable cover from my shed to feed the wire through.  Do you think that happened?  The low point was when the plumber told me I should call an electrician right away to redo the tech's wiring so I could sleep at night.  I said, I hope I can sleep at night with the hardwiring you did?  And he laughed.  The tech also felt free to go through my house without being accompanied or asking permission to go alone, upstairs and through my bedroom.  I had bought a pricy floor model which was shipped back to Atlanta where a new control panel was put on since the floor model had scratches.  Now it is scratched again.  Should I mind since they're so great?

Progressive Service Company Plumbing Service
This company was sent out by American Home Shield due to issues with our hot water heater. I requested service on Monday due to no hot water and Pedro the technician came on Friday afternoon to assess the problem. He was here a total of 7 minutes. He entered the room where the water heater is located, took a few pictures and said you need a new water heater because yours is disintegrated. So I asked him how he was able to determine that a replacement was needed without actually checking the components or attempting to light the pilot? He responded I don't need to check it. That's what you pay insurance for. I will put in the order now and it'll probably be Tuesday or Wednesday before I can get a new one because of Covid. So I asked him if we realized that we've have NO HOT WATER FOR A WEEK, we have two small children and he's telling me that MAYBE he can come back in 5 or so days with a replacement. So I checked the work order section of the AHS website later that evening. NO WORK ORDER. Called PPCS and NO answer, left message, NO call back! Later I called their emergency service number, still no answer, left message. NO call back. On Saturday I checked again, STILL NO WORK ORDER! I then called and spoke to customer service where I was told it can take up to 24 hours for the technicians input to show in their system. Checked the website on Sunday, STILL NO WORK ORDER. So I called AHS again and the customer service rep gave me the same answer as the previous rep. Monday morning (a week no hot water), I checked the website again, STILL NO WORK ORDER! Complete frustrated, I called the PPCS and of course NO answer and NO call back. Once again I called AHS and told the representative there was STILL NO WORK ORDER showing in the system and I'd left numerous messages, sent an email and the company was unresponsive. He then called the company and was able to speak to someone and said they would called me within 4 hours. Those 4 hours came and went, STILL NO CALL BACK OR EMAIL. I once again called AHS and after 45 minutes of retelling the same story once again, the representative was not only able to make contact with PPCS but assured me they would be putting the work order information in the system. About an hour later, I received an email from AHS to contact them as there was an ISSUE with my warranty claim. Once again I contacted AHS and was told by the representative that my water heater issue would NOT be covered by the warranty. When I questioned why she said because the technician states in their report that your water heater is in violation of city codes and ordinances. This ABSOLUTELY OBSURD! The technician made NO mention of such and said he was planning to order a new one the same day. What a bunch of @$$holes. Just because I questioned their decision and was trying to prevent unnecessary work and expense to AHS they try to screw me by putting some BS information into the work order to prevent a replacement! I insisted that AHS send out another company for a second opinion to which they have agreed to do. Not only am I giving this company MINUS -10 STARS, I am hoping by writing this review, others will avoid this company at all costs!!

Sparrow & Sons Plumbing Plumbing Service
I called sparrow and son for a simple job to replace a water heater.  I verbally told them what type and I also e-mailed direction because I was out of town. They came out and spoke to my elderly parent and got her to approve a much more expensive type. A water heater is about 300 dollars and 2 hrs of labor. Should be about a 5 to 6 hundred dollar job. By the time it was all over I paid 2500.00 for a simple water heater.  They made a mess of my kitchen and created more of a problem. All the  savings I had earned from renting my space went right into this job.   I will never in life use them again.

Thermo Direct Plumbing Service
Working with Thermo Direct has been one of the MOST amazing experiences!  Believe me, I tried 5 other Heating and AC companies in the same area and after they met me at the house, I was always left with a feeling like they all wanted to UPSELL me on the latest and greatest AC/heat pump... I was in an interesting position as I did not want to run my credit as I was in underwriting, but Donnie Lopez at Thermo Direct worked overtime to give me alternate solutions...HE called me during/after hours t0 make certain he gave me every option--until we landed on the perfect plan!  The GREAT service did not end there, the day of the install, Carlos and Raul, continued the amazing service by arriving on time, working tirelessly in the heat (120 degrees in my attic) to give me long awaited new AC/heat pump!  God bless them both were GREAT and hardworking.  BEfore they left they walked me through EVERYTHING to ensure everything was installed to my expectations.  I am the HAPPIEST customer and will tell the EVERYONE about Thermo Direct!  THE BESTTTTTTT Experience.

Greene Hunt Plumbing Service
We used Greene Hunt for some plumbing work last week, and it was easily the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Please don't ever use them. I would give zero stars if possible.

We needed to have a defunct garbage disposal removed and a basket strainer installed in our kitchen sink. After noting right off the bat that a deep strainer would be necessary since the basin of our sink is thicker than the standard, the technician told me the whole job would cost $187. Once the job was completed, however, I instead received an invoice for $320. This new price didn't make sense to me because (1) it was not what we had agreed to and (2) a total of $320 for this job would have amounted to almost $200/hour for labor, and the average labor charge for plumbers is about $85/hour.

After contacting the company to correct what I thought was an honest mistake, the technician proceeded to misrepresent our initial agreement and then flat out lied to me, claiming he didn't know upfront that a deep strainer would be needed. When confronting him for lying, he became extremely angry and hung up the phone on me after running out of excuses. I subsequently made an attempt to hash things out with the owner, who surprisingly insisted on backing up his technician's lie, claiming that I had misunderstood the initial pricing agreement and asserting that I was being unreasonable for not agreeing to the arbitrary price inflation.

I've had my fair share of customer service mishaps, but never have I been treated with such rudeness or indignation, especially by the owner of a company. Bottom line: I strongly urge you to look elsewhere for your plumbing needs.

----------addendum to respond to owner's comment----------

Funny how it took a public negative review to get my first apology from Greene Hunt. Actually, the technician was quite clear in how he intended to price that portion of the job, and y'all simply tried to deceive me after the fact. There was no effort made to improve the customer experience; charging me the price that we agreed to initially is simply what should have happened in the first place. When I told you that I would be mailing you a check for the price that we agreed to initially, you wrote back that I was being horribly unreasonable and sarcastically wished me a good weekend. You stubbornly waived my invoice out of pettiness, indignation, and scorn to spite me, not as a gesture of goodwill or some effort to genuinely resolve the situation. By refusing payment for the original agreement, you arguably managed to make this already unbearable situation even worse, leaving me to awkwardly feel like a freeloader and you to forego compensation for a completed job, essentially maximizing the dissatisfaction for both parties in this insufferable transaction. If you've somehow managed to make it this far down in the review, do yourself a favor and use another plumber!

Jordan Plumbing & Maintenance Plumbing Service
I'm not sure if it was incompetence or dishonesty, but the folks from Jordan Plumbing told me that my sewage ejector system was completely broken and that it would have to be replaced, to tune of $1800-$2300. They were ready to do the replacement immediately.

Thankfully I told them that I would need a second opinion. Another local plumber came, took one look, and hit reset on the outlet that the ejector was plugged into. The ejector immediately kicked in, and it's now functioning without a problem. Instead of ~$2000, I paid $0.

The plumbers tried to sell me on a completely unnecessary, costly fix, even offering to take $100 off. It makes me sick to think that I almost gave them thousands of dollars for nothing. Even if it was an honest mistake, it would have been a costly mistake for me, so I strongly caution others against using this company.

They get 2 stars instead of 1 because they were able to come out the same day I called and fix another issue, though I do wish I had waited for the other plumber because he could have done it for hundreds less.

Piedmont Metro Service Plumbing Service
Completely unreliable and dishonest.  My heat pump was having issues on the coldest day of the year.  I called and they did send someone out fairly quickly. He provided an analysis and an estimate. He told me that the estimate would cost 88 dollars. When I explained that I had specifically asked if there was a charge for an estimate before having them come out I was told that estimates were free. He became agitated and borderline aggressive and asked So are you going to pay it or not?
I wanted to be fair so he called his manager and we agreed to half of the fee on the basis that I would have the repair done. He stated he did not have time that day but would come out the next morning. I stressed the urgency as I have young kids in the house. After he left, my subpanel started smoking and I had to turn the unit completely off. I called to make them aware of this and to verify that they would be out the following morning. The next day they were a no-call no-show. A day passed and no one called. I finally called and spoke to the same manager. He offered no apology and said they could come out the following day. I asked if he could just refund the 44 dollars and I would go with someone else and he agreed.  I have since called back three times and left messages for the manager. Each time I was advised that he would call me back and he never has. I have yet to receive the refund promised.
