Best Plumbing Services in Maryland

Brewer Walter L Plumbing Service
I can't say enough nice things about this company and the people who work there. They are very experienced and very professional. Most importantly, they are willing to take time to fully explain a situation and the options available. Their prices are very fair. Along with many of my neighbors, we are long time very satisfied customers.

Empire plumbing and heating Plumbing Service
Sprio at Empire saved us this weekend. Our water heater went out on us and other services couldn't find a unit that would fix where the existing one was located. Spiro found a new unit that would fit, got it fast and installed it for us on a Saturday. Having hot water through the weekend in the middle of winter was a lifesaver. Thanks Spiro!

Ralph's Plumbing & Heating Plumbing Service
We recently purchased an old house that had been empty for some time and when the water was turned back on we had some issues.  We had an original 1937 faucet that wouldn't turn off, a toilet that just had a sign on it saying do not use, an improperly installed toilet that had to be re installed and  our main water supply was leaking.  Each issue was repaired quickly and inexpensively.  Having moved from another old house I was familiar with the adage you just going to have to replace it without anyone trying to repair...not Ralph!   He repaired the old faucet, replaced the old toilet, cleaned out a sewer line that everyone said had to be replaced. - and he's an awesome guy!!!!

Woke up on a Sunday with no water. Within hours Harford Well Service had the old well pump out and new in!! Service is superb! Only one that answered his phone on a Sunday. Definitely recommend and will use them again.

Drain Chief Plumbing Service
We had moved into our house recently and did not know much about our septic system. We had water backing up into our basement, even though we had just had our septic tank pumped.  Fred talked me through on the phone where to look for certain things that could help since he couldn't come by until the morning.  When he came by, he talked me through everything and was very thorough until he found the problem.  He was able to fix the problem and give me some guidance on what my next steps would be to prevent in the future.  Highly recommend using Fred and Drain Chief.

Chesapeake Plumbing Plumbing Service
Chesapeake Plumbing is the BEST! Joe was on time and excellent service.  Joe is a wonderful plumber.  He explains the issue he finds and what needs to be done to fix it.  He is thorough, kind, honest and knowledgeable.  We live in a house that was built in the 1950's.  Many items are original.  He has taken care of different  plumbing issues 2 separate times.  Each time we have been very pleased. I HIGHLY recommend this company and Joe!

Baltimore Sewer Service Plumbing Service
Now that the house in question has been sold, I can feel free to publicly air this issue.

Jason Tart, the owner of Baltimore Sewer Service, is not licensed as a plumber, who does horrible work that causes damage to people's homes and health, and continues to get away with it.

I am speaking from a combination of personal experience and professional knowledge of the law, as well as familiarity with public records in Maryland. Everything I say is true and verifiable, and I will provide screenshots as evidence.

Tart has been repeatedly charged with and convicted of performing plumbing services without a license, in violation of Maryland Business Occupations and Professions 12-601, a misdemeanor carrying a penalty of up to 6 months' imprisonment per violation. He uses the Internet to lure unsuspecting customers to employ him for serious issues that he has no training to handle. Some, like myself, experience substantial damage to their property as a result. Others, like a couple I met in court, dealt with not only property damage but extreme health complications due to his misuse of chemicals on their sewer line.

In our case, Tart promised to provide us with a free video scope of our sewer line, which an earlier, honest and licensed plumber, had told us was not at fault, but rather that there had been a collapse on the part of Baltimore City's line in the middle of the road. We were lured in by this promise, the outstanding (apparently fake?) reviews, and his professional looking website.

When he arrived, he claimed that his result had contradicted our earlier scope of the sewer line. He promised to get the issue fixed for a price that was lower than the market rate. Thinking we were dealing with a licensed plumber with a good reputation, we agreed without getting a third opinion.

Rather than following appropriate protocol, getting permits or using heavy machinery to dig in our yard, as required by the work and the law, Tart hired a couple of day laborers to dig with hand shovels until they not only struck but actually broke our sewer line...but only after cutting into it in our basement and using a garden hose to supposedly try to flush it out - causing a small flood. Ultimately, he declared that, seeing with his own naked eyes rather than the seemingly fictional scope, that the blockage was over the property line and the responsibility of the city, in an effort to con us into continuing to entrust him. We didn't fall for it. My wife immediately demanded a return of all our money (which he provided), I found out that he was not licensed, and in fact had a history of working without a license, and filed a complaint with the plumbing board, to deal with the damage he had caused.

I eventually saw him in court and settled for less than I should've, rather than seeing him go to jail, because I figured he was potentially dangerous and I didn't want to try my luck while he knew where I lived.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup Plumbing Service
This company is rip-off.  I called them to come over and unclog my garbage disposal.  The technician unclogged it but then suggested I replace the garbage disposal because the blades of my garbage disposal were getting worn out.  I would have to pay $355 for unclogging the garbage disposal and if I had them replace it with a new one they would charge $655 (but he would  take $75 off with a coupon).  So I paid them $580 to put in a new garbage disposal.  I am sure this was way too much for a new garbage disposal but to make matters worse, he used some of the parts to the old garbage disposal.  He did not replace the sink flange, the gasket, the backup flange, the mounting ring and maybe the snap ring.  These are important elements of the garbage disposal.  They should have been replaced because they come with the new garbage disposal.  Too late, I checked with the Better Business Bureau website and found out this business has had 495 complaints in the last three years and 177 so far this year, 2020.

Perfect Plumbing Plumbing Service
After multiple visits requiring coordination with a neighbor to diagnose the cause of a leak, the owner of Perfect Plumbing decided not to do the job when I complained that he wanted to charge me extra for the 2nd trip out. He had the option to keep a repeat customer happy by not having the extra charge or to earn more by doing the work for the extra charge, but lose me as a customer in the future. Instead, he opted not to do the work at all, which came across as unprofessional and vengeful.

Abbott's Plumbing Plumbing Service
We called Abbott's Plumbing on a Friday because we had a leak in the kitchen coming out from under the sink.  They said there was no extra charge for coming out on a Saturday.  They did arrive as planned and found that the faucet extension had a break in it.  They could replace it with one from their truck.  The cost would be $705 or we could get our own and they would have to come back another day.  Facing the week-end with no water and an extra charge to return, we chose to sign the order and go ahead with it.  Shortly after we were told by a neighbor that her faucet repair two months ago cost $350 and there was even a problem getting the faucet off.  We researched on the internet and found that the prices in our area for replacing a faucet cost between $200 and  $350.  We approached the repairmen with this information.  They contacted someone in the office who agreed to discount the service to $670.  They were here about an hour and claimed that their hourly rate was $198.  Feeling very taken advantage of, we gave them a check for $550 trying to figure out what the cost should really be.  On Monday we stopped payment on the check as with further research we felt it was way out of an appropriate range.  The owner called to work things out at the end of the week. He was willing to accept a $550 check and would not reduce the price any further.  Since he presented an argument for every point we made and we were getting no where with him, we agreed to send the $550 check.  We realized we made a number of mistakes in not knowing a reasonable cost ahead of time and overestimating the payment at $550, but we also feel this company is way overpriced and took advantage of us.

Crouse Plumbing & Heating Plumbing Service
Don't use Crouse plumbing.   Gave me a quote of $350 to replace an outside faucet and then charged me $515.  When I questioned it they said they would refund $75.  After 2 hours they said they changed their mind and I need to pay the full amount.
