Greg was one of the most reliable and responsive contractors I have used. His work is excellent, he is timely, and charges fair prices. I had him put in a laundry vent, 4 bbq outlets, and garage sconces. He provided helpful information about the best and proper way to go about things in my 47yr old house.

Once in a while you come across a contractor that is so good to work with you want to share your experience.  Enter Alvarado Electric.  In my recent residential electrical job I found these guys to be both cost competitive and customer focused.  My job wasn't a big one but there were moving parts.  Owner David Alvarado listened, understood the issues and patiently explained the options. He and his colleague were prompt, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.  Invoicing was transparent and easy to understand.  But the best part is now at home after the sun goes down I really enjoy an improved lighting atmosphere.  Thanks Alvarado Electric!

Had an issue with an exterior garage outlet that stopped working suddenly. Sent multiple requests out to Electricians for quotes. Most were overpriced and honestly gouging customers. Ramon responded quickly that he couldn't get out for over a week but offered some advise of potential easy DIY problems. After a few minutes troubleshooting he helped resolve the GFCI issue and probably saved my family $300+ dollars for a none issue. Highly advise anyone who is ethical enough to help people whether or not the get the business.

I had a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed for my new Tesla Model 3. The quote for the job was competitive - which included running a line from my outside power box to the garage & changing out some of my old main breakers. I also expressed that I wanted a Hubbell 14-50 outlet & Edward provided great customer service by offering to source one out & swap out the outlets when it came in. Overall, it has been a very positive experience! The install looks great & has been working great. Edward is extremely responsive & professional.

I contacted Carlsbad Electrical because of fantastic Yelp reviews, and definitely was not disappointed.  Linden responded to my request almost immediately, squeezed in my job the next business day, and was extremely professional, efficient and knowledgeable.  He replaced a few GFCI outlets and fixed some bad wiring on my pool/spa equipment.  Will definitely use them again when needed!

Enrique showed up as planned, at short notice and was fabulous. He trouble shot the problems quickly and successfully with the 3 thermostats needing to be swapped out. He was very friendly yet professional. Worked fast for the flat rate quote he gave.

No extras charges, no oh dear, this is going to be me work than expected that we all have heard. A+++ for attitude, professionalism, speed and technical knowledge.

Tom Horton was very professional and was referred by Home depot.  I highly recommend him as he knows his stuff.   I had another electrician to check the wiring for my doorbell and they had mentioned it was going to coat $125.  Horton just checked it and fixed the wiring and said that there was no need to run any wirings and that it was just wired incorrectly.  He helped set up my Ring doorbell and made sure it was functioning right before leaving.  He also mentioned that I don't need a chime as my phone would suffice.   However,  if I wanted one  that I could purchase a Ring chime brand and that I could exchange what I originally purchase for it.

In response to Larry's review:  here is the exact msg I received from Larry after my initial email request explaining my issue and request for service:

Hi Jonita, It sounds like the panel may need a little troubleshooting to determine it's condition. We can do this for $68.50. As far as the extra wiring is concerned we will give you a free estimate on that and any additional wiring issues at the time of inspection. I can put you on the schedule for tomorrow between 11am - 1pm or Saturday, perhaps ?  Thank you Jerry

The above msg from Jerry CLEARLY states the trouble shooting charge to be 68.50 NOT 68.50 per 1/2 hour.  That was revealed when the tech arrived. This is typically called a bait and switch.

I did not phone CLD on Saturday because 1) there office hours listed them as closed 2) I did my homework and research on what Mark told me and found he profusely exaggerated the danger and 3) was able to fix the issue myself.

Mark arrived at 11:15 and departed at 12:31. That is clearly not 1.5 hours spent diagnosing a problem.  He spent more time telling me how dangerous my electrical service was than diagnosing or repairing the minor.

The handyman was likely the perpetuator of my issue (plugged in 2 old high energy spotlights without any sort of surge protector), was waaayyyyy over his head and was promptly dismissed from any further services at 12:50 pm, 19 minutes after Mark left. I have this time well documented.

Interesting, Jerry reports my initial message to him went to the wrong email box, yet, the message i sent him on Saturday 3/19/16 reporting I was disputing the charge submitted to my credit card on 3/16 (yes I was billed over a month after the service date), went to the correct location and was viewed immediately. Ummm....

Anyway, essentially scaring someone into a fairly simple repair at the cost of 340.00 is nothing short of price gouging.  I went on to hire a different  licensed electrician (not on yelp) who installed wiring for 3 smoke detectors, 2 ceiling fans,1 overhead light (I supplied the materials) for a total of $350.00 (5.5 hours of work).

Jeff just put up my beloved chandelier. I would recommend him he was pleasant and knowledgeable. He got the job done and was very friendly. I would use him again!

I live in an older house and was having issues with a bad breaker. Craig came out (within the hour)to give a free estimate after several bad experiences with competing electricians. Professionalism, integrity, and knowledge go a long way. For that reason, I would say Craig supersedes the competitors. He's honest. His prices are fair and you don't have to worry about him trying to overcharge you or add unnecessary services. He backed his work with a guarantee and explained everything during the process. I will definitely recommend his services and call him if there is ever a need in the future.

I reached out to Jimmy with Spark It Up Electric after speaking with multiple electricians. Jimmy was very responsive, reasonably priced and often worked  to find creative solutions for the power and lighting issues throughout my house. I would highly recommend Spark it Up Electric for any project and will be reaching out to Jimmy again for projects in the future.

This guy knows his stuff. Very detailed invoices that explain exactly what he does down to the t so your not left wondering what your paying for. Brought 2 RV inverters to them and they had the inverters fixed within a few days. One was actually very badly burned and we were under the impression it was beyond repair. After attempting to install ourselves it was apparent we needed some more electrically knowledgeable hands on it. Mark sent out a few of his guys (Dan and Luis I believe) and they knocked it out easily. They also found more problems that we did not know were there that had occurred during a fire. After a few days there we were with a beautifully working electrical system. Would absolutely recommend this company.

I have been in business for 19 years as a handyman I do light electrical but anytime I have big jobs I always refer Doug. All of the people that I have referred  to him I have loved Doug and appreciate the referral. he has been in The electrical business his whole life and knows what he's doing but if you need a handyman don't hesitate to call me 858-229-1694  Matt I do all the things Doug don't LOL

Hunter was the ideal plumber. He was knowledgeable, patient, and nothing but a true professional. We'd been having a problem with water backing up from a shared drain line for a couple of weeks and other plumbers couldn't fix it but Hunter had it figured out and fixed within a couple of hours! It was a great experience.

Wow! Stellar customer service!

Situation: It's a Saturday and I'm having trouble with my dishwasher not turning on.  I called Brilliant and they said they only have emergency service at $300. BUT! They said if that was too much they could help me out over the phone (FOR FREE!). They cheerfully and without complaint or attitude spent over 15 minutes on the phone diagnosing the problem.

Result: I was able to fix the problem. But more importantly the time they took to help me fix the issue shows how great the folks who work here are and how they genuinely care about helping you out.
