Rosso Handyman Services Electrician
Had a leak from my condo shower to the unit below me. Mo was quick to respond, showed up on time, diagnosed and fixed the issue within the same day. All at a fair price. I'm pretty handy and it was easy to tell he is experienced and knows what he is doing. Doesn't get any better in the handyman business. Will definitely call again for future needs!

Alternating Currents Electrician
I chose Alternating Currents Corporation based on a referral from my neighbor. I used Alternating Currents Corp to update my electrical service to 200 Amps and to hang and wire a fan box. Marty came to quote the job in person. The process was quick, thorough and accurate.  They were very good about not damaging any drywall when hanging the fan.  Any damage when the service panned was installed was minimal and it only took 2 days total to complete the process. All of the invoices were emailed and the office staff was available and replied to questions very quickly.  I will recommend being home before the project is finished to make sure you get the signed off inspections and a rundown how everything works.  I also had the option of getting my own permits from the city and would think about letting them take care of the permitting so you don't have to be the go-between with them and the city, but if you're up for doing the pickup and scheduling it's an easy way to save a few bucks.  I requested some outlets be reused and the old panels be left and they were. They also had to return some of my original GFCI breakers, so I would also recommend going over what is left and what is tossed before hand. I would use Alternating Currents Corporation again if I need future electrical work.

The Good Guys Handyman Electrician
We needed to replace three ceiling light fixtures with fans before the summer heated up. After submitting a request online I had an electrician out within 48 hours. The service was quick, professional, kind, and under the estimate. Seriously impressed!

HandiCo Electrician
This is the first and last time I use Handico. The only thing saving them from a 1 star review is that Julio did a good job...I think.  If I could give 1.5 stars, I'd do that. Andy, who came out to do the quote, was very friendly and gave the impression that he knew what he was talking about.  Unfortunately, we later discovered that he really didn't since none of his estimates were on target. Had we done what he recommended, we would have spent several thousand dollars unnecessarily.  I'm not particularly handy so I'm usually willing to give a handyman service the benefit of the doubt, but this got ridiculous.

First, we needed drywall inspected/repaired after a leak in the ceiling. Andy was pretty sure we were going to have to tear out part of the ceiling and 1-2 entire cavities in the wall due to mold. When Julio came to actually do the repairs, he said (and was proven correct) that there were very little chance of mold being on the vertical walls and the only mold was the ceiling. So far, nothing too bad. However, because the reality was fairly different than what Andy led us to believe, we started doing our own research for the other jobs was asked Handico about.

Second, we had some Toto toilets that had been running nonstop for a while. Andy took one look at them and declared that he was certain that the problem was defective design of the toilets. He said this was a well-known issue for one-piece toilets because they weren't able to seal properly. He even open up the tank and pointed to where he claimed the problem would be. His recommendation was to get rid of all the toilets (these are expensive Toto toilets and we have 3) and replace them with two-piece toilets. This turned out to be complete nonsense. We could find no evidence of this supposedly common problem being mentioned anywhere online and, after talking to another plumber (who, when I mentioned Handico, said Oh, that guy isn't actually a plumber.), determined that the problem was just the tail of chain on the flapper was preventing a seal. After shortening the tail, the problem was solved. It took about 30 seconds and was free. How Andy missed the obvious solution even after he looked in the tank is beyond me.

Third, we wanted to run a new electrical outlet from a light fixture above our fireplace so we could mount our TV above the fireplace. We were didn't care about using the fixture anymore so were happy to just divert the lines. Andy claimed this would be extremely difficult, take 2-3 full days of work, and cost around $1200. We went to Home Depot and a very helpful sales person got us set up with everything we needed for $37. The whole job only took me the afternoon (and only because I had to stop while the baby took a nap).

Aside from the work itself, Handico took two full weeks to get back to us with our estimate and then would have added an additional charge for paying by credit card (they claim they just discount the price if you pay by cash/check, but price they provide in the quote is actually the cash/check price. You only find out about this so-called discount when you try to pay with a credit card.)

There are a lot of positive reviews and they currently have 4.5 stars, but I definitely did not receive anywhere close to that level of service. I'd make sure to get at least another quote or two before having Handico do any work.

Oakwood Electric & Generator Electrician
We had Oakwood Electric install 3 ceiling fans (ran new electric, cut boxes into the ceiling etc.) and some light fixtures, they did a great job. They showed up on time, were extremely courteous and respectful of our house and cleaned up after they were done vacuuming the bedrooms where the work was performed.  Herb & Arvy were the electricians, they were outstanding. Initially Robert came out and quoted us, there was zero pressure - he just noted what we wanted, quoted us and the pricing came in where he said it would.  We ended up adding some items that we originally weren't planning on doing and they accommodated the requests that same day. We'd highly recommend them if you need any lighting or electrical work, we'll absolutely use them again in the future.

Master Handymen Electrician
I had a unique issue regarding the floors of my apartment.  The hardwood floors were removed and the concrete subfloor was refinished to act as my primary floor.  This resulted in a 1 / 2 inch gap between the lower concrete floor and the higher original baseboards, exterior hallway and bathroom tiles.

Master Handymen Inc solved this problem with extraordinary skill.  They removed the old baseboards, installed new baseboard throughout the entire apartment, custom built and installed new thresholds and gap fillers.  They were very innovative in figuring out how to do this (I had no idea what could be done under the door facing); and finally painted all the trim; all in just one and half days.

Master Handymen has far exceeded my expectations, especially considering my unusual requests and even at a very reasonable price.

Welter Home Services Electrician
The services provided by Welter Home Services were excellent. The work consisted of cleaning baseboard radiators, which hadn't been cleaned in years, and then doing the plastering and painting that was damaged by taking the radiators apart. The worker was prompt, professional, and friendly. He discussed his approach, and used the paint we had rather than have us buy more. Everything was done extremely well and we enjoyed having him here. We've used Welter Home Services a number of times and will certainly use them again when projects are beyond our skill levels!

Hilman Construction Electrician
Live in Deerfield 20+ years and have run the gamut on contractor experiences. As your neighbor, I cannot stress enough how superb this guy is. Fast. Efficient. Caring. Cost effective. As soon as he left I sat down to write this review. Great Guy. Most honest contractor you'll ever deal with. No question I will use him again and again.

Enigma Electrical Maintenance And Training Electrician
I can not recommend Kevin at Enigma Electrical more highly!  He is a consummate professional, a kind person and a very talented electrician.  I had an urgent project in my vintage condo with VERY old wiring, as my condo was going on the market and the electrical needed to be fixed on a Sunday.  Kevin doesn't normally work Sundays, but he understood my dilemma and urgency and he rearranged his schedule to come and help me on his day off.  He was not only comfortable dealing with a tricky electrical situation, but he was delightful to talk and laugh with.  I couldn't be more grateful!

Cordial Electric Electrician
Great reliable service. We had recently sold our home and needed some work done to the wiring in the garage and the electrical outlets in the kitchen needed to be replaced. Luis came out and gave me a estimate and the job was done the next day. Very pleased with their workmanship and knowledge. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing electrical work done.

Swanson's Home Preservation Electrician
We got multiple quotes for our project which involved installing a ceiling fan (where there wasn't a pre-existing one) and a complete overhaul of the lighting in our full-floorplan basement.  Swanson's quote was right in the middle and his knowledge was far superior to the other companies we spoke to.  He suggested a specific lighting layout in our basement that he said would provide exactly the feel we wanted, and he and his team nailed it.  The work was quick and very professional, and the wiring and finish was so neat and clean.  I will absolutely call Swanson's again for any future project!  A+.

In and Out Handyman Specialist Electrician
We had a really great experience working with Eligio and Laura! I posted about our impossible back door that had swelled and shifted over the years. He was very quick to respond, gave a very fair flat rate, was flexible with our time constraints and showed up promptly next day to fix it! We've had two people not show up to give us an estimate so I was relieved when they arrived! They looked over the problem, explained what they could do to fix it, then worked quickly to correct the problem! They even went above and beyond to realign hardware for no additional charge! The door opens and closes SO smoothly which it's never done since we bought! I will definitely keep their number and use them again in the future! It was an absolute pleasure working with them!

Advantage Electric Electrician
After having a home inspection while in the process of selling our home, we learned that we needed to have some minor electrical work done.  I called Advantage Electric, and Mark agreed to meet me within the hour.  Just a few minutes later, our work was done!  I was very impressed with Mark's speed and work ethic.  Best electrician in the area!  We would highly recommend him and will definitely use him in the future.

Advance Area Service Electrician
I would never recommend Advance Area Service to anyone! The worker
who appears to be the person who operates this business was extremely
rude, and unprofessional. I recommended his services to assist an elderly family member, and he treated her like crap. He was rude, disrespectful, and
crass. He speaks to his customers with a negative tone and does not like
you asking him questions about the job you paid him for. He takes advantage of elderly people, by taking their money and informing them if there is a problem with his work, he will continue to charge them if he has to come back to correct his mistakes or inadequacies. He is particularly impolite to women, especially elderly ones. Be aware of this business and its services!!!!!!!!

Reliant Naperville Electrician Electrician
We recently moved to our new home in Elburn, and we wanted to make a few changes.  I wanted a gas range, a garbage disposal, a new light fixture installed and the outlets rewired because they were connected to light switches.  We hired Dave on two separate occasions to complete this work, and we are very pleased.  Dave is very professional, efficient and skilled.  He recommended an air switch for the garbage disposal, which we had never heard of.  We went with his recommendation.  It looks nicer than the traditional light switch on-off for the disposal, and it required less disruption to our kitchen to install.  Before we called Dave, we had another electrician out to give us a quote.  He told us we'd have to rip out a wall or have the switch under the sink.  Neither option seemed appealing, so we called Dave.  I'm so happy we did!
