Allred- Heating Cooling Electric Electrician
it's dead winter and my heat did not work the tech came out on a sunday. And was super nice. After he was done he found the problem and told me maybe running the a/c this summer put stress on the Fan Capacitor and now it's given out. Unfortunately it was not the a/c systems full fault so I would have to pay for today's repair of $850.00.After examining the bill realized it was a total of ($850) $269 to diagnose and $550 for the part and rest taxes or so. I put in the part number that I was paying for and realized this part only cost $9.00 on Amazon. But per the tech it's because it's after hours on Sunday I'm paying so much more. Consider myself pretty easy going but did not see myself paying 6000% more for a part. Something felt icky about that. A $9.00 part for $550???? Tech was cool...said he would still have to charge me the $269 plus tax for diagnosing it but I'm able to get the part my self if I don't want to pay that much. Understandable paid the $270 he took the part out.
At the end of the day was kind of left feeling sad that the human thing did not happen. Just spent 11-12k with All Red 5 months ago. Went through the hoops with them over getting city inspection done. And now it's 30 degrees outside and they unscrewed a $9.00 part and left me and my family in the cold. Just had a hard time swallowing that. But totally understandable it's their business and they technically did nothing wrong but would have loved to see some humanity. Nothing against the tech he's just following the rules but they should sometimes let them do what feels right not what the book says. And if the A/C put more stress on the fan capacitor then really it could have gone both ways. But I liked the technician and did not want to argue that fact. Totally feeling bad about this it's my first 2 start review I have ever given. Like they say it's always the service after that sets a business apart from the other.

Allred - Heating Cooling Air Quality Electrician
Not sure how this company has such high reviews, buyer beware.  We chose Allred to begin with as Groupon had an offer for an annual tune-up.  The scheduling of the appointment went well and they did show up on time, but that is where this happy story ends.  They cleaned and assessed the air conditioner and heating unit and found that the heater needed a new capacitor (we have now found out that this was unnecessary) which of course cost us additional money from the original payment.  After they completed all of their work they said everything looked good and that everything worked.  Scene change to the hottest day of 2017 so far (6/25) the air conditioner of course did not work. We tried testing the breaker and a few other non-invasive tricks and nothing.  We called them that night and they never called us back.  I called again a couple of days later and finally got someone on the phone.  I asked why they would leave and not be sure the unit worked. The response was they would  have to look and if it was their fault the would fix it for no charge. Hmmmm whose fault would it be, it has not worked since you touched it. They said they would have someone out that day and if not that they would call me.  Have you heard from them?  I still to this day have heard absolutely nothing.  We had to bring out another company (they have been top notch) however, we just had to spend another $400 for the service to get the unit working.  Worst experience in Seattle!

Beacon Plumbing Electrician
I had been having an issue with my ductless air conditioning so I called Beacon and they were there in about 90 mins.  Brom and David were able to troubleshoot the problem and take all the time necessary to fix it.

South West Electrician
As far as I'm concerned, these guys are crooks.   I had an experience with them two years ago and I'm still angry about it.   I saw an ad on TV just now, and realized I've never shared that experience.  People need to know.

I called Southwest Plumbing when my furnace wouldn't work.    As soon as they took a look I got the feeling something was up.  They started doing unrelated things like measuring the pressure in my plumbing system (telling me it was too high).  They basically piddled around for an hour before replacing a little wire.  I've since found out what that little wire does, it senses if the gas jets have started.   I found it online for $9.50.   They ended up charging my over $400 for the visit.    It was clear to me that they took a 5 minute job and made it look like way more work than it was.   When I finally saw what they actually fixed and saw the outrageous bill I asked them about it.   I got a story about needing to cover overhead.    Watch out folks.  They will cheat you.

DEAR Services: Electrical, Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Electrician
The only reason this gets 1 star is because the receptionist is super friendly and sympathetic. Otherwise if I could give negative stars, I would: AVOID this company AT ALL COSTS. they repeatedly cancelled on my appointment three times (No one showed up, not even a phone call) without explanation, and on days I specifically took time off from work. Not the most reliable nor professional organization. I HIGHLY recommend looking else where and AVOID COMPLETELY. I was lucky to eventually find a really good electrician from some other area and not lose any more time, no thanks to Dear services. Whew.
