Our HVAC system was requiring its  biannual inspection. Dante arrived and during the inspection noticed the system had improper pressures and the motor fan was dirty enough to cause issues. After explaining the issue we agreed to have this extra service. His supervisor Gil arrived to insure the work was proper and complete. Dante and Gil were a pleasure to work with and very professional. Here's a first, owner of Dear Services David called in and checked to see if anything was needed and if we were satisfied with the service. We are pleased with todays service and have no complaints. Good job Dante and Gil.

Beware!!! Always get a second estimate!! They quoted us $20K for minor works. It was at least double our researched estimates. They will call the office in front of you and make it seem like they are giving you a deal. They will also pressure you into signing right away. The Owner (David), the manager(s), the office, are all putting on an act.

Also check the brand and type of equipment that is being installed. What they brought for us was NOT what we signed up for and when we call them, they said they are giving us a better model... NOT!!!

They also 'bundle' their services so they can't give you itemized invoice... hmmmm

The various technicians that came out were all pretty nice though.

They installed my ductless AC/Heating unit a year ago. It was not installed correctly and they had to come back to fix it. Now just over a year and it is not working. They also call to schedule what you think is a services call, only to find out it is just an electrician looking at all your electrical to see what else they can sell to you. I thought it was a heating services call until they said it wasn't but they could schedule one for me. Bait and Switch. My unit has now not been working from Jan 10 to Feb 6th. Twice now they have called for a scheduled appointment between 1-5, they call at 2:00 only to say that they will have to reschedule. When you have to lose an entire afternoon because a company can't keep their schedule it is very unprofessional. I now may have to call a different company even though this unit is under warranty because Dear can't seem to get their act together. I work for one of the larger Real Estate Franchises on the West coast and if we ran our business like this we would be out of business soon. I would not recommend using the company.

Update it is now May 26th. The unit has not been fixed. The told me it was under warranty and needed a new compressor. I was call back by Connie LeAir stating that the unit was under Warranty but the Labor would be $5000.00 dollars. I was shocked so I said please speak with a manger and let me know how you are going to stand behind your services and product. I never received a call back and how we are going into the Warm months and my AC is not working and they will not call me back. I would not use or recommend this services.

Had them install my heat pump last year.

1) they did a bait and switch and did not install what I bought. I wasn't home so I couldn't refuse it. I sucked it up and kept it.

2) I asked for an updated invoice so I could use it for my taxes and home insurance. They repeatedly told me they couldn't provide it to me.

3) I needed it permitted... it took weeks and 10 phone calls to get it done

4) They sold me a premium service package. They were suppose to come and do maintenance before winter... they never called me back. I got tired of calling and leaving messages.

5) 2 weeks ago during the 80+ degree days I tried to turned my AC on. It wasn't working. Called on a Sunday evening. The gal was very helpful, apologized that no one was available that day. Stated that she would have someone call me the next morning (Monday) to come out that day to look at it. I called Monday afternoon since no one called me. Their response was we don't know what you're talking about. Ok so let's schedule something. Them: sure - next Thursday. Annoyed I said fine. Today (Thursday) comes, I get told : we over booked. You are the lowest priority. Maybe next week.

I have given them multiple chances to make things right. I try to use local businesses when I can. This is absurd. They can't commit, refuse to call their customers back and they don't have a competent office administrator/scheduler.

They were supposed to be a one stop shop. They turned out to be a 1000 time nightmare. Run from Deer Run...you have been warned. Read the entire post going back 2 years. David (owner), may the fleas of 1000 camels find your bed. Karma will get you. Also look at the 5 star ratings...all people with no pictures and no other reviews (not all but the majority) . Again you've been warned. All these people with horror stories, we should all get together and do a class action suit on Deer.

DEAR Services has a business practice that should make anyone leery of doing business with them.  This is one example--I'll post another example in a separate review--also with a 1 star rating.

On May 15, 2023, a service rep (I won't use his name) inspected our furnace (the new one DEAR Services installed in Nov 2022, charging over $11600) and AC unit (the one we had installed by a different company a few years ago).  Oddly enough, both the furnace and AC unit stopped working the moment we turned the AC on.  The DEAR service rep reported that the cause of the problem was that the compressor is grounded internally which is causing fuses and breakers to pop.  The service rep showed me his meter as he pressed it to the AC compressor--and explained that the meter's gyrations and low reading meant that the compressor had a short.

I smiled as I asked for quotes by email, (i.e., in writing) from DEAR to replace the compressor in the AC unit.  Within the hour DEAR emailed offers, ranging from $9500 to $16000, to repair the AC unit.

Having done business with DEAR in the past (ouch!), we immediately called another company to inspect the furnace and AC units.  That technician found that the furnace (that DEAR installed) had been wired wrong.  It was the faulty wiring that caused the shorts--two fuses in the furnace shorted out.  He removed the faulty wiring, replaced the fuses--and guess what!  Both the furnace and AC units worked!

The tech left me the blown fuses--one was 5 amps, in the board where it was clearly marked there should only be a 3 amp fuse.  The technician also left me several 3 amp fuses--no charge--little did he know they are apparently worth some 9 to 16 grand to me.

I sent DEAR the above info.  They did not reply, except to write on June 21 that they would be responding soon with an update.  And after being reminded I was still waiting for their update, on July 18 DEAR wrote asking that I be patient, and allow them some extra time as key staff were on reduced hours until September 2023.  Of course, to date, I've had no reply from those customer friendly folks at DEAR.

We have called DEAR services for several different plumbing and electrical issues at our home. They have not only been very responsive, but they do a really good job explaining the issue and what they are doing to fix it. Recently, Tony N came to fix our water heater and after he was done fixing it, he went above and beyond his expected work and helped me clean our dishwasher filter and check a broken faucet. I appreciated his time in explaining everything and being so thorough!

Even if you get a quote from them and don't move forward with the installation. They sell your information to third party services and sign you up free hvac cleaning which results in constant spam calls.

Also their prices are higher then all the competing offers. They will try you to entice you to sign immediately by saying they'll give you X discount if you sign now.

Our 19 year old furnace would not turn on...3
days before the recent cold snap. DEAR fit us in their schedule to come for assessment.

Brad, the technician immediately got the old unit to light up; however, due to the age...he did a more extensive evaluation with a scope & found large crack in the heat exchange component. Clearly due to age but potentially very unsafe to continue using (carbon monoxide release).

He immediately dispatched Johnny to get an estimate for new replacement.  Johnny was prompt, courteous, and thorough in evaluating need.  He provided 3 options to consider.  Of course all were new furnace technologies at varying price levels.

Ultimately, we selected the best furnace for our immediate need. They have great financing options too!

As a great example of customer service & concern for young visiting family, Johnny also had 4  awesome room heaters delivered to help with heat until the new furnace arrived.

The new unit arrived 2 days later & was installed in about 5 hours.  The installers were skilled & efficient and left the area clean upon leaving.

New furnace technology with excellent service & support program to keep it running in tip top shape!

Highly recommended to use DEAR!

The business model for this company is not great, I won't recommend anyone that cares about cost and value to use their service.
I was quoted $1408 for garbage disposal and faucet instal to a new sink if DEAR provides the garbage disposal and $1096 dollars if I supply the garbage disposal. This is outrageous pricing for a work that is no more than 5 hours.
This is particular awful because this company will charge you 70 some dollars just to get an estimate ( $69+tax), and will absolutely quote you at above $200/HR.
The service pro that came were nice and respectful but the company is not one I would recommend

RUN FROM DEAR: SCAMMER!

If I could give it a zero star, I totally would. My furnace wouldn't blow warm air so I called this company.
- Technicians came to my house to diagnose the furnace. Advised me a new furnace is needed.
- The owner David came after 1.5 hours. After going over the different packages, he asked what form of payment am I going to do. DUDE We didn't even get to go over the itemized cost and numbers.
Oh Man, a silver package costs $23k! My new furnace and AC are better covered in gold.
- I asked for itemized products cost. 13k for the furnace and 13k for the AC? I looked it up online, and the model they offer costs only $2500 (pre-tax).
- Did the math in front of David. It should NOT cost more than $13k considering you are running a business. $23k means your operations are inefficient and you are trying to take advantage of this situation thinking I'm dumb. I got an MBA my math is sharper than yours, David.
- This company uses high-pressure sales tactics to make you sign the over-priced contract. RUN! My friend and I called David out and he became extremely defensive about it. Yes because you lied to customers and I strongly believe your company is gonna die very soon.
- I hope you see this review: I did shop around more than one company out there that offer $6k for the furnace including installation, a 5-year labor warranty (better than Dear's 1-year labor warranty) and it's a 96% 2-stage furnace. So your company isn't that exceptional asking for $13k.
- Also your technicians left all my parts, and screws not back in the original form. Now you tell me you guys care for the customers? BS! You only care when you think you will make a deal. Sorry but not sorry- you don't make this deal from me by offering a basic model. All your sample quotes from other companies can go to the trash because they all offer better deals than yours.
Wishing you a new year, but no business ;) Definitely not from my neighborhood (GUARANTEED FROM ME!)

I don't recommend them.  They had installed an AC in 2021 for the previous homeowner, and the homeowner gave us the extended warranty by them when we purchased the house.  Note, this house was built in 2020.  One week after moving in, the AC stopped working.  This company sent a rep to take a look and the rep told us that at the time of the installation, they weren't aware that the equipment they used would be faulty and now requires replacement which would not be covered under the extended warranty.  They said the entire fitting needed to be replaced and gave a quote of $8,000, with none of the total covered by them.  I would expect that when installation took place just 2 years ago with faulty equipment, and with the extended warranty, they would stand by their work.  No, I would not recommend their equipment or service.

Outstanding service. We had a plumbing emergency and called Dear as we had used them in the past and always had great service.  Again I'd say they were outstanding.  Tony was our tech and he did quick analysis and told us up front the worst case price it could be so we were forewarned. Thankfully the cost was lower in the end as he was able to patch the pipe instead of needing to replace it.

Had a flood take place in our laundry room. Called around to get emergency help. Dear was the first company that responded with help. From the phone call and the professionalism on the other end of that phone call. To Santos the technician that showed up. You made an awful situation seem not so bad. Santos our technician was professional, extremely knowledgeable, and more importantly, so helpful. You will definitely be the first company I call for any other needs that we may have. Thank you DEAR

Dear installed a generac generator for our home. They were very responsive and did a relatively good job with the install. They left without showing us anything about it. Did not go over any maintenance schedules etc. Well after a year we get a warning alert from the generator. We call Dear and ask them to come service it. We schedule an appointment and the day of the appointment they call to say they won't be out as they do not service the product! What company sells a product and doesn't service it?? Like a car; oh we'll sell you this but we won't service it. Absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend this company. Love the product.

I wish there was a way to give less stars. This company is by far the most horrible company I have ever felt with. They lie, cheat, don't finish the work they promise, sell bad equipment and don't stand by their product or service. Some of the employees, not all, are rude and condescending and treat their customers horribly. I would absolutely steer clear of this company. They feel like they have plenty of business and don't treat their existing customers very nice. I posted a review on FB and they took it down and blocked me. Is that the kind of people you want to do your trust? Any questions feel free to ask me. Feel free to contact me directly.

Called Deer Services to replace HW heater in 2020. I've been having trouble with water pressure at kitchen sink; thought it was from new housing construction. Called the Water Department who came and identified the issue as a drop in flow from 59 psig at street and at hose bib, to 26 psig when 2nd faucet in house is opened. Indicates a partially closed main shutoff. Called plumber who confirmed it is frozen, partially closed. Replacement costs are $3000, primarily labor, because the HW heater is blocking access to the valve and needs to be removed to do the work. Plumber went under house to check if there was a failing pressure valve. House doesn't have one. Only workmen who touched the main shutoff were Deer Services who didn't mention an issue.

But there's more. Deer Services replaced my furnace and installed a heat pump for A/C in 2019. When the plumber went down, we both smelled rodent odor. Called the company who had completely replaced insulation and vapor barrier just prior to Deer Services' A/C heat pump install. Rodents have been accessing crawlspace from holes cut in the wire air vents that Deer Services cut.

But wait, there's more. A/C required a new electrical panel. It did not pass inspection. More than a dozen calls to the company have gone unanswered.

This company sold me a full house warranty for something like $1200. The cost to repair the holes they didn't seal (and the damage done by rodents) is $3500.

The #1 rule before you hire a company to do any type of work is to go to Washington contractor lookup and make sure the company is licensed and bonded.

#2 rule should be to always read through the negative reviews.

With that said, while I did not personally use Dear services, below is my friend's experience who hired them to install furnace and AC.

My friend hired Dear Services several months ago. Some of the issues she experienced are water damage due to improper installation and they also tried to install a different model AC instead of the model she purchased. She tried to contact Dear Services to get the issues resolved but they did not return her calls nor show up to address the issue...UNTIL her friends started positing negative reviews on her behalf. After this was done, finally Dear Services reached out to her to get the issues addressed. This was multiple months ago.

Fast forward to yesterday, my friend comes home to a house filled with gas. She immediately called PSE and they had to shut off the gas as the gas was leaking through furnace. According to the PSE inspector, DEAR services did a horrible job and the inspection should've been failed.

So moral of the story is, NEVER trust DEAR services.

They never fixed our plumbing problem, but charged our family 50,000 saying there was a leak. I came back to check on our guest house, and sewage was everywhere. No one is living in that house, so discussed with that company, our new carpets are ruined! Do not use this company, they are frauds!!! After 50 grand I shouldn't come back to sewage in our tub, shower, and carpet.

The sales lady was nice but certainly used strong arm techniques, was at my house forever and it felt like she wouldn't leave.  I said I wasn't going to sign anything until my HOA approved the architecture.  They pressured me into signing anyway with the caveat that I would only be charged if the HOA approved it.  HOA came back with a laundry list of questions for them, no response.  I feel like I dodged a bullet and I can only hope they don't charge me the 20k quoted.

Dear Services is the absolute worst for service after the sale. I'm having nothing but grief trying to get my yearly maintenance inspection done on the gas furnace that I purchased with an installation by them. Despite paying for the 5 year service contract they market as their Total Care Club, the priority scheduling is anything but. I'm on my second scheduled appointment, after having them cancel the first one, with the appointment window now extended from an 8am-noon time into sometime in the afternoon. I suspect that with just a service call that I've prepaid, the company won't be making any profit, so I've become a low priority.

If I could leave zero stars I would. We inherited this company since they installed the AC unit from the previous owner of our house. They have been nothing but a nightmare to work with. They have canceled our appointment four times DAY OF. It is impossible to speak to someone who is actually in the office every single number goes to a out of country centralized call center.  SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND DO NOT USE THEM.

Made a mistake and called for an estimate -- when sales rep came in with all the scammy hard sell tells and mask under her nose and told us that no repair was possible and we needed every single part of our system replaced to the tune of $17,000 I checked Yelp reviews.  Grateful that I did.
Hard sellers were rude, sarcastic, mocked us for saying we couldn't afford replacement, and hard to get out of our house.
If you or your family might be susceptible to hard sells, scare tactics, and financing options, don't even call.

These guys were totally dishonest with me. I had an estimate done for $75 for troubleshooting two light fixtures, one in a bedroom with a dimmer and one outside on the garage. I am elderly and have arthritis in my hands so I wanted someone else to fix them. The tech quoted me $1,398.00 to replace the outside fixture and $802.00 to replace the dimmer. In writing. I then went to Home Depot and spent a total of about $30.00 and gritted through the pain to replace them myself. The same tech also tried to fear monger me about my electrical panel. The House was built in 1969 but the panel was replaced in 1993 and is perfectly functional. He tried to sell me on replacing it, saying it would be about $10,000, saying it was too old and dangerous for modern devices that pull too much power. Total BS. Stear clear of Dear as long as that dishonest tech Luke S is working for them!

Go someplace else. Do not be stupid like me !
The bad reviews are real.
I hired them to install a new furnace and heat pump. Spent $25K
The salesman was pushy and promised excellent customer service. After the heat pump install the county inspector came out and told Dear Services that the location of the heat pump was not within code and had to be moved out a min of 10 inches from the wall.
The technician came back out and USED A 2X4 BETWEEN THE WALL AND HEAT PUMP to move it out without disconnecting or bending the pipe. I told him it was not acceptable and I wanted the piping to be pulled against the wall down to the ground and over because of the likelihood it would be damaged, I have trees overhead.
Dear Services never sent anyone back to fix it. I called several times, sent pictures. I was told by Larry their HVAC manager that oh yes we will be out Friday between 8-10 nobody shows up. I call and they say oh it was 8-12 again nobody shows up. I call again and now I have been rescheduled for Saturday. I call Larry again and he tells me some BS about they will be out between 8-10, once again nobody shows up. I call and you guessed it, oh it was between 8-12. I wait again and nobody shows up. Nobody calls, no one answers their phone. Once again I wait all day and nobody shows up even though they keep telling me the technician is still going to show up that day.
THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS
THEY WASTE YOUR TIME AND DON'T CARE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

I'm not usually one to write negative reviews, but DEAR Services absolutely deserves one. I called them to come out when my Air Handler stopped working. While I was in the phone, not once was any service fee quoted or even mentioned; I should've taken this as a big red flag. The service man came out the next day and told me my transformer was blown and that to replace it would be $700, but he suggested replacing my whole system for $7,750. I told him I could replace the transformer (literally connecting a couple wires) and that I'd call them if I needed further help. He then proceeded to charge me over $150 for coming out, something that had never been mentioned or quoted before whatsoever. As he left, he put a DEAR services advertisement sign in my yard without even asking.
That evening, I went to a supply house to find the part and they told me the part I had wasn't even a transformer, it was something called a choke. I went back to the air handler, found a wire that was causing a short, put some electrical tape on it, and replaced the fuse... Everything started working. I called the project manager to tell him that his technician was wrong, didn't even know the parts of the HVAC SYSTEM and asked for at least a partial refund. He told me he'd look into it. Since then, I've texted him multiple times with no responses whatsoever. No excuse for that. I asked another company to quote me on a transformer change or new system and they said they'd charge $250 or $4500 respectively.

Moral of the story- these guys don't know what they're doing, charge way more than they should (pretty much rob people), and have no communication skills or respect for people. Go somewhere else, save some money, and avoid dealing with this awful company.

I have had 3 estimates including Dear and so far they are the cheapest in the Seattle area for me.
Roberta is the best, she was  able to get someone out the next day with no fees for the trip/quote.
Joel & Daniel were great at communicating the breaking down of what was needed since I knew nothing about what was causing the problems, nor what could also be wrong once they took out the shower and started working on it with the house being so old. I had some idea that the whole bathroom piping might need replacing at some point and that time happens to be now. Definitely using Dear for all the other plumbing issues we have in our home.

December of 2022 and we are having an air flow and heating problem... basically our heat wouldn't turn on until the middle of the day. Called them back, they sent a technician out and diagnosed the problem as our Nest thermostat not working with the system and selling us one of their thermostats (a Honeywell T6) for $700. We were still having air flow problems after the thermostat replacement, so I called the next day and asked for them to come back out. They said they'd come out the next day (Friday) that was cancelled, rescheduled to come out Monday (cancelled), then rescheduled for Tuesday (cancelled), then they finally came out on Wednesday.
The tech showed up and told me we might have a leak in the freon again, turns out we didn't, then he figured out there might be a problem in the crawl space with the flex duct. He crawled under there and showed me the problems, then told me he needed to call his project manager (Johnny). What proceeded was 100% a high pressure sales tactic. Johnny came and went under the house, told me the exact same thing the tech did, then crunched some numbers and gave us an estimate of $14,100 (with the 15% discount) for 12 runs (even though they said they were charging me for 10, to give me a break).
We balked at that, then Johnny felt it was necessary to get his boss, David (same guy that came out during the summer), on speakerphone in front of us to tell us how much we needed this and get us on the schedule to do the work. While David was on the phone I asked that since the thermostat wasn't the problem, if we could get a refund for the thermostat that was sold to us... they agreed and worked the refund into the estimate bringing it down to $13,395.06. We told them we needed to figure out where the money would come from and if we could afford financing it and to give us a couple days, to call us on Friday.
Johnny called me on Thursday to ask if we had come to a decision, I subsequently told him no and to call me on Friday at 5pm. We ended up having another company come out on Thursday, after Johnny called, and give us an estimate for $6k.
Friday rolled around and DEAR's call center called me and asked if I was still willing to talk with Johnny (weird for them to call in representation of Johnny and ask if I was still willing to talk to him), I responded yes and they subsequently told me that he actually wanted to meet in person at 5pm... sure. Johnny didn't end up showing up until 5:45, not a huge deal because I was home alone.
Once again, the high pressure sales tactics started and he asked me when they could get started. I asked him if before we talked about that if I gave him the thermostat that night, if I could get a refund. Again he got David (the owner) on the phone to ask him about that and I was told they could work it into the deal then refund my credit card, (I'm not sure what there is to work into the deal if I just want my credit card refunded because of interest), and I balked eventually getting a response in line with there's nothing I can do now because accounting is gone, so we can revisit it on Monday... whatever, the conversation ended and the phone call was ended. After the phone call ended, I informed Johnny that we would not be hiring them to do the work that was quoted. I told him that I still know people in the HVAC industry and I was told it shouldn't cost more than $5k, he asked me who quoted me that, I told him no one, just that people I know in the industry told me that. In a whirlwind he is telling me that everyone has a buddy or an uncle Larry that can do it cheaper, but not correctly like us (DEAR) and he got David on speakerphone immediately to tell him that we wouldn't be hiring them to do the work and I told them that I thought the almost $14k estimate was overpriced and I told him the same thing I told Johnny about knowing people in the industry and David essentially repeated what Johnny said. David also mentions that he is the one with 30 trucks on the road (I don't care).
The high pressure sales continued because they tried to lower the price of the estimate, and they they did lower it to a rock bottom price of $12,500, to which David eventually hung up and Johnny tried to tell me that the $12,500 spread over 15yrs is a good idea because it would be done correctly and once we paid off the other stuff we could up the payment and pay it off quicker. I told Johnny that we had other projects planned like windows and siding, to which he told me that air is the most important (can't have efficient air flow without windows that operate correctly). I finally told him that we did have someone come out Thursday night to give us an estimate, to which I gladly showed him, and he tried to be insulting and ask if they were licensed and insured, to which I promptly pointed to the license number on the estimate. Not the whole shpeal

Santos saved Christmas! We discovered that water from a burst pipe was gushing in our utility space today, Christmas Eve. We expected to have the water main shut off, and no running water until sometime next week, but Santos came over right away, capped off the pipes with what he had on hand, and took the time to vacuum out as much of the water as he could. We will be able to make Christmas dinner AND wash the dishes. Santos is the best!!!

The person showed up past the four hour window and didn't have a mask. When asked if they have a mask, they said they don't have to wear one because they are fully vaccinated. For being a service company that has workers visiting peoples' homes on a day to day basis - it's concerning masks are not required and they are not following CDC guidelines.

UPDATE: heat pump is STILL broken. Thought the serviceman fixed it but 3 weeks later heat does not turn on. Service is terrible. Read the poor reviews before choosing Dear Services. I find it interesting there's folks giving this place 4-5 stars when there's a large majority of bad reviews with people experiencing very similar situations.
DO NOT COME HERE.

I was recommended to DEAR by my HOA's community manager, so I called them up to put in a mini-split heat pump system in my condo. The saleslady they sent out, Robyn, flattered and pressured me, and I fell for her sales pitch and agreed to the pitch. The price seemed a little high at the time, but even more so when I looked around (turns out $24,000 to install three heat pumps is a lot more than normal). Additionally, they told me that they had worked other units in my complex before and getting HOA approval would be a snap. So I wrote a couple checks and told them that once HOA approval came in we could go.

A few weeks went by and my HOA didn't respond to my requests (putting the lie to the assurance that they'd worked with my HOA before!), but DEAR went ahead and cashed one of my checks without clearance to do any work. I called the saleslady and she refused to help me at all. I kept pushing on my HOA and eventually they rejected the architecture request for mostly legitimate reasons that I wasn't previously aware of. I ended up having to call my bank's fraud department to get my money back since DEAR had clearly established they wouldn't be reasonable with me.

Don't call them. Don't talk to them. Don't even get a quote from them for comparison purposes (they'll charge you $99 for that! and they won't have a competitive price anyway). Avoid DEAR at all costs. Use anyone else instead. I didn't read the negative reviews of them until it was too late. I only hope that you, the reader of this review, still have time to avoid them.

(also, despite what the yelp info says, their staff did NOT wear masks)

Still reflecting on how dangerous last night's event could have gone dangerously wrong...

1. Good thing I came back home after 4 hours, running errands.

2. I didn't open my garage door because it would have ignited with use of electricity.

3. I didn't turn on my furnace it was off,  if I turned it on it could have ignited a spark.  Technician  told the PSE inspector he didnt know you couldn't turn on the furnace if there's a gas leak. He told the inspector he's only been a technician for 9 months and yesterday he had no supervision or supervisor present when working on the gas line to my furnace.)

4. As soon as I smelled gas, I turned off the gas switch outside with the help of my neighbors then I called Puget Sound Energy emergency line.

5. Opened all doors and windows while leaving my dog in the car so she didn't have to smell the gas. Garage door can only be opened manually.

6. Called Dear Services 24/hour support but the lady who spoke very little English and she kept saying call tomorrow even though I said the Puget Sound Energy emergency inspector needed to talk to Dear Services employees about the hazardous gas leak in my garage  and home.

7. Puget Sound Energy showed up right away and shut off my gas line. I had no heat or hot water.

8. Learned from PSE inspector today, that no one can turn on the gas only Puget Sound Energy inspectors are licensed to turn it back on because if it's not turned on properly it could potentially cause an explosion by releasing gas too fast.

9. HVAC technician are not allowed to turn on the gas but they may turn it off.

10. The owners of Dear Services, should be held accountable for sending new technicians on site alone to do dangerous gas work without supervision since the outcome of their work can lead to possible detrimental  circumstances that can/could have lead to extreme danger and hazardous outcomes.

11. Clearly alot is going through my mind and I'm still processing what happened yesterday and overwhelmed and stressed out.

12. Thankful my family wasn't hurt physically or the home with the help from PSE  inspector.

13. I've been lucky from last night's incident that I acted promptly and called PSE when I couldn't get through Dear Services to get help but what if  I was sleeping when the gas leaked, so scary.

14. I am traumatized by these 9 months of dealing with this company. I've spent over 12K which is was hard to save up for and spent this huge amount of money for new furnace and A/C. I was so excited for my new furnace and A/C  and hiring a local company that I saw avertised on Facebook but it turned into nightmare hiring Dear Services in under 24 hours. It's sad that I even have to write all this about what's happened to me and my home these past 9 months. I'm so stressed out and just overwhelmed now.

I am very pleased with my experience using Dear Services! It started with the phone call, I was greeted by a very accommodating person who took care of my request and booked my appointment the very next morning. I received a confirmation text with a picture of the plumber and a specific time they would dispatch/arrive at my house. Antony and Jared showed up ready to unclog the drain. Friendly, professional and prepared. They were respectful and polite, and they fixed the problem in 20 minutes.
I would def call them again and highly recommend Dear Services.

I can't believe I have to go to this extent.

My big sister was initially duped by their female sales representative and was sold on purchasing their services on June 21st.  Only to find out that they totally scammed her and screwed her over BIG time. This isn't the first time communicating with them and their lousy CEO.  They installed an A/C and furnace that was different from what she purchased.  Get this - day one of installation, her home had a flood because they didn't hook up the water tank sensors for condensation.  The model numbers and serial numbers do not match and they don't look anything like what she purchased.

After 12 emails and waiting almost waiting 3 weeks for their email reply and finally yelling at the manager plus a public post for their incompetence they decided to send someone to fix some of the major problems.  After many weeks of trying to get them to come by and fix this issue, it's come down to this: their technicians are not qualified.  They have not ONCE worked with her to at least give her refund or hire a professional to handle this issue - this is a must if you want your company to succeed.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT.  BEWARE, STAY AWAY, and GET WORK DONE SOMEWHERE ELSE AT ALL COSTS.  All these 5 star reviews are from their family and friends since they're all connected with employees on Social Media platforms, too!

I bought a generator from them and they installed it in a timely manor. Then the problems began. It is propane powered and I was never told that I needed a minimum 250 gal tank so my property will not accept a tank that size because they need at least 10 feet clearance from property lines or buildings. I do not have that room so I called to see what can be done and that prompted the CUSTOM NO SERVICE. I called Generac and asked if 2 120gal tanks would work and they said it is not recommended. Dear NO services will not return my call and I am stuck with a $14,000 piece of metal that I cant use. They did give me the hard sell and said that the price was only good at that moment so I bought it without doing a deep dive into this company which was my fault but I think they should be need to better controlled by BBB

We had an appointment locked in for this morning from 8 to noon and received a call that their technician would arrive between 10 to 11.  No one showed up, no call or anything.  Screw this fu..ing company, they aren't responsive as they claim.  They were to provide an estimate for $69, but I guess they would have showed up if they could have overcharged for a small repair.  Don't waste your time with them, call someone else.  Pissed.

Please stay away from this business, they lied about repairs needed, price, and times they can do the service. But we found out that was a lie and have decided not to move forward with this company. So if you want to be lied to call Steve at Dear services

I would like to give a shout out to Bradley and co for their commitment to service.  We had a problem with our heat pump and they sent Bradley a great distance on the weekend to troubleshoot.  He stayed long after dark to make sure it was working before he left.  Great customer service - they always pick up the phone and have very pleasant people interacting with customers.  I always feel heard and respected and they go out of their way to get to everyone who needs service.

Be careful of calling the service unless you don't care about cost.

I have a split air conditioning system, one of the heads is not blowing cold. They came to my place and said they had done every possible check and what they can do is to refill refrigerant. They gave me a quote about $450 or I can simply buy a membership for one year with $400 and they can cover the cost for refilling. It seems ok to buy the membership and let them do the job.

After they fixed the machine, it starts to leak badly. I called them because we have a membership with them and they came to my place and checked. They left with a $5000 quote to fix or $7000 quote to replace them. I was not going to pay this for a 3 years' old and barely used machines and I called another technician and they fixed it with $400. They found some obvious issues. If they really have the knowledge, they can easily find it out during the first visit. I start to doubt about their professional competence so I gave them a call to question about it and ask to refund the membership fee (or cancel it with half refund). They insisted that they won't refund it.

I feel quite disappointed about that and start to ask myself: Will I call them again in this year (the membership last for one year) for anything and get another several thousands' quote?

Don't trust the special promotion they put on Ads, it is a trap.

Do not even consider these scam artists! Needed 3 70's light fixtures replaced and they gave me a quote of $4,400 dollars!!!  The company we ended up using, charging $360.00. I think Dear Services should be investigated and shut down. My concern is for elderly folks, who fall for their BS. I can't remember a time I have experienced such a sham operation.

Pros: Excellent technicians and quality of work
Cons: Prices are quite high

2021 interaction with Dear Services:

I've had some weird interactions with the customer service team. For example I've had to call every time I get work done and ask to be sent invoices, which is odd to me that I don't receive invoices immediately after the work is done. in one case I was told that a manager would have to call me back to explain an item on my invoice that the customer service person did not understand - I never received a call and I called them back after 24+ hrs and asked for an update, got the same customer service representative who was able to answer my question that day, it appears they researched after the fact but didn't follow up with me. I wish I didn't have to be so proactive to get information from them. Later they missed an appointment (no call, no show) but after I contacted them they dispatched a tech next day to take care of me - but the only notice I got was a text and a phone call as the technician was en route to my house, 30 minutes out. The good aspect of this company is that every technician I've worked with has been stellar and they do a fantastic job. This is what ultimately matters as they're quick and thorough, courteous and knowledgeable and transparent - I've been very happy with the work they've done. If they can address the issues with customer service, I'd give 5 stars.

November 2022 interaction with Dear Services:

Our heater failed a month ago and my family decided to go with Dear Services to install a new HVAC system (heat pump+heater) in our home.

Bradley P came out and delivered the bad news that the fan motor had seized up, and that the capacitor was no longer holding a charge. Fixing the unit was possible with replacement parts, or we could opt to replace the unit with a new one. We wanted a quote for the new unit, and Bradley had been at our house most of the day trying to fix the unit but advised it was not possible without new parts. He called out his supervisor, Dave H who was fantastic! He clearly laid out the options and we decided on a system that would work best for my family. Dave left his house at around 9pm on Halloween night to help us get heat in our house ASAP, I was impressed by his dedication to helping a customer.

The system install was expensive (20k with all included labor, parts (heater+heat pump, uv filter, safety equipment etc, permits) which was the same situation as our water heater, we felt the price was high but considering the amazing job they did before, we considered it a worthwhile investment to upgrade our home heating/cooling solution. Angel and his coworker Dulley performed the install and it went smoothly, it took a few days to complete because the process because one of Dear's electricians needed to run power to the heat pump (thank you Spencer K for your work!) In the end we were satisfied with the work they did and our home is warm yet again, and we will have a comfortable cool house in the summer!

I don't quite understand the negative reviews for this business, all of my interactions with this company have been A quality work, their customer service has also improved from my last interaction with them a year ago regarding my water heater. I've improved my rating to 5 stars.

I was looking for estimates for a new water heater and this company wanted over 4000 to install a new heater. I would recommend not going through this company. Their plumber that came out was nice and courteous and very knowledgeable but the pricing just doesn't add up considering it only takes a few hours to install a water heater and a new 50 Gallon gas heater is less than 700 dollars.

Minus stars!! Run the other way! There are so many other reliable and honest companies in the area!!

They came out three times, no one diagnosed the issue properly. They just tried to sell us a new furnace that just started working after some cleaning and a switch replacement ($160)!!!

It has been a month and they will not provide a refund or return any of our calls for the furnace they tried to sell me for ($6000) even though the order was canceled within 24 hrs! There is only a call receptionist who will not get you through to the financial dept and just take messages.

Just look elsewhere!

They are doing work at my sister's house and have left them with no heat for almost a week. The weather has been down to freezing at night and don't seem to be in a hurry to get it done. They told them it would take 2 days and a week later still not finished. They seem to not want to answer phone calls, texts or messages left at the office. If I could I would call this company and give them a piece of my mind. They haven't even offered them heaters to help them stay warm while it's freezing outside. If their pipes freeze you can guarantee I'll be knocking on their frickin door for some answers and repair on them.

One star for prompt response and great follow through! Zero stars for the service we got from the tech. We called for a service on our water heater but he would not do it because our water heater was older. He then quoted us the cost to replace it. 4000 dolllars!!! The tech was pushy sexist and insulting to our intelligence. He would not indicate parts versus labor expense, and tried to sell us on a 12 month no interest financing. At $50 a month it would've taken us more than six years To pay off a water heater not to mention the interest. Same water heater less than $1000 online. I will not call them again! I feel sorry and concerned for potentially vulnerable senior citizens that could be scammed by this company!

Wow. This company truly cares about their customers and will go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy. I've been talking with this company because they installed an HVAC system for my friend and while I have yet to have them come and install something in my own house (since I am not local to them) I have been so impressed by their level of customer service that I was compelled to stop by their Yelp page just to leave them this review.

It is really so hard to find a company that is willing to go out of their way the way this company is going in order to help my friend with the units she had installed by them. This level of service is really hard to come by and if I were in the Seattle area I would definitely be going here if I ever had any HVAC needs.

Thank you Dear Services for taking care of your customers and for making sure my friend is happy with the services you provide. It means so much to both me and her and it is so nice of you to go out of your way to do this.

I am extremely disappointed with Dear Services after their service at my elderly mother's house today. They were called because her water would not turn off. After just under five hours of work with two team members, my mom was billed $9,426. The invoice notes just under $600 in parts, and while there is no labor number or billable rate specified (glaring omission), the labor per hour for two team members came to about $1,729. That's almost $900 an hour per person.

Another oddity was that her taken credit card was taken pre-service. And yes, while she did sign an estimate before service, the labor fees were absolutely not explained to her. I also asked verbally at the end of the job for explanation on the high cost, and was given a vague answer with no details in terms of billable rates.

My elderly mom was taken advantage of. Watch out for this company.

I will say they were polite and seemed to do a good job with the project tasks.

PLEASE AVOID DEAR SERVICES AT ALL COSTS. I hired them to move some outlets: $1585 dollars. This work was done well, but they were supposed to have also sent out an HVAC specialist who never showed up.

Next we had them come out again because another outlet needed to be moved. They charged me $2285 for this one (even though it was less work) and also decommissioned the power to my HVAC while still not sending an HVAC person.  THIS LEFT MY HOUSE WITHOUT ITS PRIMARY SOURCE OF HEAT on JANUARY 5th.

Instead, the next day they sent out a site supervisor, NOT an HVAC specialist, who tried to sell me a $17,000 dollar new system. We then agreed that he would have an actual HVAC look at pictures to see what could be done to move the existing head unit. He left while waiting for his President/Owner to call him back to advise.

At that point, he DID call me back and said they could get somebody out 2 weeks later to look at it. At that point I asked if they would send somebody out to restore power to my perfectly fine HVAC system. He said we would get back to me in a couple minutes and then I never heard from Dear Services again.

I txted and called him, left messages and also called dispatch looking for answers. The dispatchers are nice, but they do not follow through.

I understand the staffing challenges that can occur in a pandemic. But there is no excuse to ghost a customer who you left without power in the middle of winter.

BTW, call Seatown - they came and moved my system. Communicate well, were respectful of our time and we got great value. Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value

This is going to be long, but it's worth the read.

My kitchen sink had become backed up and I needed it to be fixed, so being the first time I had ever needed to contact a plumber, I went with this company.  To start, the lady who answered the phone was amazing and super nice.  From there it went downhill.

Once the plumber arrived, he looked over the sink area and told me that he would not be able to fix the sink unless he cut the pipes and repiped it as well as replaced the garbage disposal.  He also told me that under the sink was done against code so it would be more costly as he would have to fix that.  He quoted me at $2,700 for everything.  I told him that was WAY more than I wanted to spend and he ended up calling his manager.  Once his manager was on the phone, he had said if I give them a good review, he's happy to lower the price since it would be coming out of their marketing budget.  Once the conversation was over, they then quoted me $1,999.  A $700 different just to give a good review?  That's pretty ridiculous.  I also paid their $59 special to come out which ended up totaling $65 and never received and emailed invoice.

After I let them know we would be going with someone else and doing some of the work ourselves , they began making remarks about well why didn't you call them first? And scaring me into using them by saying if we do it wrong it'll end up costing us thousands more.

We ended up calling a family friend who is well versed in these issues who told us the sink was not plumbed against code, it was completely fine.  He was unable to release the sink, so we called another plumbing company who also said it was plumbed to code.  They were able to release the clog at $375.  The garbage disposal was rotten and old, so we purchased a new one and installed it ourselves.

I feel as a woman, alone at home and on medical leave, I was severely taken advantage of.  I do not appreciate that at all and will be sure to warn family and friends of this, as well as the price gouge they attempted to do to us.  Be aware!

Resqusted an estimate for a dual head Mini split. Sales guy came out and wrote an estimate for $19,800! He used high-pressure, car salesman tactics. Called his boss in front of me to schedule the work , tried to get me to sign commitment. I told him I'll talk to my spouse and get back to him. I looked up the unit and it retails for $3500. So, wondering how the install could cost 16k in labor, I texted the sales guy and asked for an itemized estimate. Also emailed the company asking for same. They both ghosted me. These guys are scammers. 0/5 stars, do not recommend.

I purchased a heat pump in July the install wasn't completed until they came out to fix the leak in September. I was unaware that my system wasn't completely installed prior to service appointment. It is now December and I have had zero heat for 2 days. I called the company at 4:15 am on December 21st. Company returned call at 10 argued with the customer service person for half an hour before they finally listened and set an appointment for 12/22/21 at 4pm. Mind you it is 34 degrees and the emergency heat is just keeping my home above freezing. Had another HVAC company out and my heat pump isn't working at all. Called the company and asked for a competent technician and was told they would have to run that past management. Do not use this company! Run far far away from them!

I used to work for these clowns, they got salesman that have never worked in the trade and have no idea of what it takes for a successful install. Then they have a owner who is super money hungry and requires his employees to work late into the nights often pissing off the customer. Many times we worked pass 9pm in customers homes because the salesman would never set us up for success. Then the owner David would also send out apprentices expecting them to do journeyman level of work while paying them peanuts. The prices set in their systems is 4x the cost most reason successful companies charge. Stay away from these people. It blows my mind they are still in business.

They installed an ac unit at my house 2 years ago. They never showed up for my first appointment that I made for the 6 month service and did not return my calls. When I returned from vacation in May my ac unit was not working. I made the appointment which they showed up to 4 hours after the 4 hour window and all they did was look at the filter say I needed a new one and left as quickly as possible. They did not check anything else. My ac unit is not working yet again and they will not be here for 2 weeks to look at it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I wish they would just refund me take the hunk of junk they installed so I can get a company to install something that will actually work.

Do not work with this company. You will regret it.  They ruined my ceiling from an AC installation in the attic.  Reaching out to BBB their response back was Dear holds no obligation to repairs for water damage.  They installed June 4th 2021 and now they say they can't help me.  Today is October 28, 2021.  They have been to my house 6 times not counting the 2 missed appointments I had to take time off from work.  They cut the coil box in order to fit on the side of furnace. These crooks cut corners.  The dispatchers love to say manager will call back but never do.  I hope people will read this and think hard about not hiring from this company.  Check out BBB complaints as well as labor and industry.  They have been fined from L&NI.  It's not lies, it's the truth.

Total scammers. Price is outrageous-which they won't tell you until they come to your home. They'll even start looking around and ask of other things to fix.  When you decline their outrageous price, it costs you $54 for their visit.
Don't waste your time here!

If I could I would give a zero. This company is awful. They lie, the tech they sent out was on meth. He left tools on my roof, they denied being up there. The roof leaks. My AC doesn't work. They keep giving me the runa round on fixing it. I call the number for thr business it's remote workers, and outsourced call centers. DO NOT use these guys. It's a nightmare.

Originally the plumbers were here for a leakage fix inside the wall, but they cannot do the demolition job. During the inspection they proposed us with the water heater replacement project, and out of good faith and appreciation of them showing up despite the bad air condition in Seattle, I signed. What happened next was the abuse of our trust.

For a $950 water heater, I was charged $2434 for installation. For a less than $60 valve, I was charged $1883 for material cost and installation. For 2 bond Gastite pipe including the bonding, the cost is $1560. For a $58.64 expansion tank on Amazon I was charged $1023.  On Homedepot's website, the average national cost for water heater installation including the removal of the old unit is around $1500, and this company charged me $13279. Even if I pay the labor by hours with a rate of $140 per hour it still doesn't add up. The price difference is very suspicious and when I called customer service, twice, nobody could give me an explanation.  Even if we say the installation cost for a part is five times of the material cost, it's still not even close to half of what I was charged. The parts showed in the breakdown list (with the image) of what's going to be installed is not the same as the ones installed in my house. When I asked for the breakdown list of the parts before the installation, the documents I received only contains very general description of the parts. Yes, no model number, no brand name, just pipe of this size with that material type basic description. After the project is done, there's no receipt nor contract.

We are currently seeking legal advice regarding the issue. Please contact us if you are interested and also a lawyer or expert in this field.

In response to the owner of the business:
We feel really hurt with the abuse of our trust. Originally we are gonna send the two plumbers away since they cannot they do anything with the leak besides taking a few pictures, but since there's a pandemic adding hardship to people's lives as well as the air pollution in the past few days, we feel the need to not let them return with nothing done and nothing earned. The water heater was never an emergency that we need resolve ASAP, but to help them, we let them initiate the project. However, we did not expect the great difference in the products installed.

And we really hope a professional inspector is doing the inspection.

Sep 10 2020 5:28PM
We've never given any one/half star to any product/service before, and we used to avoid negative reviews since we suspect malicious intent. However after our experience, we learned the lesson that we should always pay attention to negative reviews and get multiple quotes from various contractors. We checked their review across multiple platforms and we recommend all of you guys here who are considering hiring this company to scroll down and see them yourself.

Sep 10 2020 6:02PM
Diving deeper into the comment section, I feel the need to inform everyone that the owner's comment after some of the reviews is no other than some low effort PR stunt.

After thorough discussion and recollection, we come to the realization that this company has a complete system to trick their customers.

Step 1, they were supposed to be at our house for a leakage fix. After a mere minutes of inspection they told us that they cannot open the wall to fix it, yet they took pictures everywhere pretending to save them for preparation.

Step 2, they say that they need to inspect the main waterline's pressure, and told us that our water pressure was too high and the valve failed so it needs to be replaced. If not there will even more leakages.

Step 3, they lure us into having them check the water condition inside the water heater via a sample, which brings them right to our water heater.

Step 4, they got the sample water from the heater, and explain to us how this water is hazardous and we need to replace our heater ASAP.

After these 4 steps, they gained our trust and also pressured us into agreeing on the water heater replacement project.

Step 5: The plumber showed us some nicely looking parts on their tablet and told us these are the parts going into the new system, and of course we would say yes to that.

Step 6: The picture, brand name, and model name are nowhere to be found on the invoice that we receive. As I mentioned above, only very vague description of that part. When I asked for the more specific breakdown that contains these crucial information, the plumber told me Tomorrow.

Step 7: They used the cheap options for most parts like I listed above, for a $57.22 main water valve I was charged $1883.

Almost all products used are cheap, however the price for labor and material combined is ten times or twenty times or even more than the product cost itself.

Got a quote from another contractor, they offered us $1424 with an even better water heater. Shocker.

We had a heat pump and generator installed. They put the generator right next to our bedroom wall. It is so loud it sounds like a semi truck. We asked them several times if they could move it because we were unaware that it was so loud and we didn't want a generator next to our bedroom. Once they were paid, they never responded back and gave us no more customer service. We called several times and they always said, Oh, we will get back to you. Never called back. Also when they installed the heat pump we had to call back because there was hissing in the house and it wasn't done correctly.  All in all. I would recommend this company. They seem all about the money and not about customer satisfaction.

After scheduling service, in the middle of the 4 hour window scheduled, I phoned Dear Services to find out when they were coming. They canceled the appointment (without notifying me), apparently I was out of the service area. My city is clearly posted on their web site as an area of service available. The apologized but In felt this was an empty statement. I am glad they didn't do the work, i suspect it would also be sub standard. This company wont be around in a few years, I would recommend to look elsewhere.

We paid for a plan so we would build a relationship with a reliable electrician who had other services. In the past they were ok to work with. I called them a few weeks ago because we had some outlets out. They booked a review of our furnace one day, second day was to be the electrical work we actually needed.

They did the first. The electrical work they rescheduled 5 times. The fifth time I just gave up. Each time I got a call the day before saying they needed to rescheduled.

If you care about your time and money you can do better.

I have had lot of problem with customer care. They change scheduled appointment at last minute -- this happened 3 times in 1 month. Worst is -- then not letting to talk to the management. There is no regard for customer's  time. There are multiple customer service agents who don't talk to each other -- it's hard to get back to same agent if phone gets disconnected.  Also most agents don't have a way to connect you directly to supervisor, management or even the technician--so they just tell someone will call you back. And then no one calls back. They promise highly when they ask to join their paid membership plan--I joined their plan and now it's so hard to even schedule services.  This is not acceptable.

I reached out to replace my water heater. It was important to me to use a local company for the repair. As a first time home buyer I made a big mistake choosing this company. It does NOT cost $5,700.00 to replace a water heater, but it does with Dear Services! And that was AFTER I figured out I was incorrectly charged an extra $2,000.00. Which was a nightmare to speak with someone about. They also chipped my walk way and covered it with my door mat and never mentioned it. It was explained to me that the  extra cost of service was because of their customer service, but the owner doesn't seem to even remember his customers, so much for that theory! I will say that the water heater does work. But I would just go with Home Depot next time. Again, bogus company, incompetent owner.

Wanted 2 pipes swapped out, but their quote was at least double compared to the previous two companies I checked with, (+ the guy tried to upsell a whole new piping system for the basement.) No mask, no gloves, (after being told they would be wearing.) no prior phone call warning us they're on the way. The Plumber  was a nice guy.

I take zero pleasure in writing negative reviews, these are straight facts with MY one interaction with them, maybe yours will be different. (Morale of the story: Get at least a couple quotes.)

Complete scam.  They were available quickly and it's supposed to be hot this weekend so I was so excited when they were available.  Came out to look at my AC which wasn't working.  Quoted $6,000 to flush and refill the coolant.  I had someone else come out and top it off for $300.  These people are crooks who try to take advantage of homeowners who don't know any better.  AND THEY CHARGED ME $49 FOR THE PLEASURE OF RIPPING ME OFF - After I posted the review they called me and offered to refund my $49 if I deleted my review

We used them for a work a few years ago and that was great. That review is still here. So we decided to have them come back for a rental property to perform a few electrical repairs. The quote came back listing $2400 for 1)replacing an outlet ($750) 2)install a bath ventilation fan 3)install a kitchen range hood. The quote doesn't itemize how much each one costs so we called, and they don't even want to explain what work will be done how much each work will cost. They simply said don't use them if we're not fine with the pricing. Such a rude business and the pricing is the craziest I've ever seen in years.

I am a retired Resident Engineer, in charge of construction, with the US Army Corps of Engineers. I have managed construction in the field and have monitored construction contracts around the world and in the United States. I was appalled with the lack of customer care by Dear Services of Kent, Wash. I made an inquiry on the internet for a simple estimate for installing two 110 Volt outlets, 20 amp, in my garage ceiling for the two garage door openers, one for each overhead door. A Sully, from Dear Services, texted me to set up an appointment for them to come out to my residence. We agreed for the afternoon of the following day; a four-hour window, between 1:00 and 5:00 pm. Day two, I received a call from their office, a lady, to inform me at 3:00 pm that they will not be able to come out today. She requested to postpone the appointment for the following day; I agreed. The third day, come 3:00 pm, no Dear Services; I called their office. I was then informed that I am next on their schedule . . . they will be over by 5:00 pm. A young man rang our doorbell identified himself as a technician from Dear Services. The time was 6:15 pm. I told the representative from Dear Services that I no longer required their services, bid him farewell.

Not just a lack of scheduling but lack of customer services. I cannot justify running a construction company and not knowing how to schedule a simple appointment.

We live in an older house (1940's) and needed to see what potential upgrades to our heating and cooling system would even work. So we reached out to Dear services, surprisingly they were able to come out within the next day and we met with Chris at the house.
He was very kind and told us what would be a good fit for us was a slim duct system, he let us know that it would be unnoticeably quiet even standing directly next to the outdoor unit and that it would be the most aesthetically discreet system for our little house. Also shockingly he said that they could get started on the install the very next week which is wild since other companies are booked 6 to 9 months out with installs, so this seemed like an excellent opportunity.
He let us know that if we were able to pay in cash that there is a really nice discount and if we sign up for a three-year service membership package that I'd also be in our best interest. In that moment, with so much money on the line, I felt like getting this discount and the timing, that I was lucky to be able to have a new air-conditioning system before another one of those heat wave summers comes. So I signed and was excited.
Then later that evening I was looking through their company reviews and I just started to cry. A bunch of the yelp reviews for this company are so overwhelmingly poor. I was scared because this was much more money than I could take a risk with. I am not used to spending that much (23$k) and so this felt devastating to me. It was past 8 PM but I decided to just try to call Chris on the cell number that he gave me from his business card and I was surprised that he answered even though it was well past business hours.
I told him what I was scared of and he reassured me that he would be there on the first day and the last day of the job and that he will personally oversee that everything goes according to plan for this installation. His responsiveness and reassurance has really helped put my mind at ease.

The installation should start next week, the first week of April, so I'll definitely be back here to update with what happens next and how it all shakes out in the end. But so far I'm really impressed that Chris has been so responsive and willing to talk me off a cliff.

David J came over on April 5th to start on setting up the electrical stuff, he was nice and spoke to me in a way that helped me understand as a lay person all the stuff he was doing. Really good experience so far.

Had DEAR come out to replace my water heater. They did a beautiful job and Rick, who did most of the work, and his helper Dave were very professional. Rick's attention to detail and knowledge on how to get everything up to current code is impressive.

I am contacting IBEW Local 76 and the Better Business Bureau to share my experience with your business. I will share with them how on Fri 11/18 your technician left our house without properly connecting power to our stove ... Job #99225781 and then when I called the phone number provided on the receipt to request that they come right back out to repair their mistake, I was informed that they would charge me $290 for an after hours service call. Then after no one showing up on Sat, I received a call that no one was available and that I would have to call Mon am. Upon calling Monam they said that they would have someone call us back. At 4pm after not receiving a phone call, I asked for a manager. both Ronald and Stephanie, stated they could not transfer me to a mgr and that when mgmt was ready they would call me back. We have been without a stove for 72 hours and still no courtesy call or repair. I am filing a complaint and taking my story to Social Media. I am also contacting a lawyer since money was exchanged for a broken contract.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO WASTE YOUR TIME, ENERGY AND MONEY FOR THEM TO MAKE EXCUSES AND NOT SHOW UP OR COMMUNICATE.

Giving one star is still more than this sorry excuse of a company deserves. I would advise anybody to steer completely clear of these people. Multiple no shows to get my AC installed. Then an inspector came out and pointed out numerous mistakes that they made. One person came out to fix only some of the mistakes and now I have to wait around for them to show up for another appointment. Fast forward to that appointment day and at 445pm they finally tell me no one is able to make it when they said they'd be out here by 230pm. We have taken multiple days off of work to try to get these people to do what they say they are going to do and time and time again we are speechless at how pathetic and disappointing this experience has been. Now we have to take another day off of work next week when they say they will show up to finish the corrections and to be completely honest, I will be very surprised if they actually show up on time. We get that there is a shortage of workers and delays happen, but it really isn't hard to communicate that to the customers. Had they at least told us, instead of being hours past the time they say without notice, I wouldn't be so upset. We had to call them first in order to figure out that they weren't showing up. Or another good idea would be to schedule what you know you can do and stop overbooking and making false promises to your customers. After all, a schedule is meant to keep things organized but this company seems to misunderstand that concept. We had thought about using this company for another project but after this experience, there is absolutely no way I would ever consider this pathetic company ever again. There are not enough words to describe the disappointment we have experienced with DEAR services and this review does not even begin to scratch the surface of the frustration experienced with this company.

I purchased an AC unit, lifetime warranty a year ago. It's been a hassle since day one. The turn over rate of employees is fast there. We have a two story house. Immediately we discovered it wasn't cooling upstairs the same as downstairs. They quoted us another $10,000 to fix that. Found cheaper prices elsewhere for insulation and a booster. Wish we would have know this before. Today they come out for their free yearly check up on our water heater and any leaks in the house. Tell us we need a new water heater because we have chlorine in it. I thought you wanted chlorine in it. Also, realize they shouldn't have installed the AC next to dryer vent. The AC can't breath. I comprise with them. I tell them if they install a dryer catch vent I'll change it monthly and not make them move the A/C if the reimburse me the cost of the the AC movement. I get a call later that, you wanted the AC there so you need to pay to get it cleaned now. What?! Why would you install it there if you knew it wasn't a good spot. I would have listened to you as you are the experts. I'm iced them and contacting a lawyer.

I am highly disappointed. Not a good company. My furnace is not energy efficient as represented. I have contacted them and no one returns calls. Robyn is great at sales but not with follow up or representation of product. Both her and the owner sat in my dining room and sold me a line of crap. First, problem is calling for help. They barely speak English and there is no urgency to your situation. It will take minimum 3 days to get someone to come out. Next, I had Robin promise she would assist, didn't happen. My rebate from PSE was denied after install as it is not energy efficient as the literature and company promised. 80% efficiency is not energy efficient. The literature is misleading. It says 80% heaters, that doesn't mean they sell 80% heaters and 20% other products as I was told by Robyn; it means the damn tanker only works at 80% efficiency!!! WTH?? I spent $25,000 and I would never have purchased something that is less efficient than the current situation I had. My previous old tank did better than that! I was told I would save money by installing their furnace and A/C and have resell value outweighing the cost of my purchase but not true. I have complaints with Better Business Bural and left messages with them but as you have read, they do not return calls. I am left to fight for myself an efficient quality furnace at 95% or better. Poor grades on service, equipment and communication!!! Stay away from this company!! I have a balance due because you have not successfully completed the work. Don't gas light me! I will gladly pay for an energy efficient product not lies from your company. Ask the gas company they will verify you sold me a piece of crap! Finish your business with me to provide me with an energy efficient product and I will gladly complete the transaction of business.

I called them out because the light went out in my family room and changing the lightbulb didn't fix it.  Also 1 outlet in the same room didn't work the day before.  The guys that came seemed professional.  Shoe covers,  masks, etc.  They wanted to see my panel after they looked at the light switch.  Then they got 9n this whe tangent about how I need to get my panel replaced asap so my house doesn't burn.  Okay.  My electrical knowledge is lacking, but they were acting like I had knob and tube wiring and had already had a fire or something
The quotes I got were 7k for a new panel, 1.5k to dx what's going on in my family room, etc.  No quote for what I called them here for, the light and the outlet.  I noticed after they investigated they went to their truck which is normal, but they stood right outside my house talking for 5 min first.  I'm sure when they quoted, tho look on my face was .  He asked me if I had sticker shock.  Well, yes.  I had no idea about replacing my panel, but a 10 second Google search let me know that 7k to replace a panel in a sub 1300 sf home is ridiculous.  Like x3.  Then he asked if i had sticker shock and I to him yes.  He offered about a hundred a month FOR 10 YEARS.  NO, SIR.  then HE ASKED ME WHAT MY BUDGET WAS.  to me, asking my budget equates to asking how much I can afford to be overcharged.  They balked when I said I would get other quotes. I'm trying not to let my mind go there, but I've had 2 other quotes for the whole shebang for 3ishk.  Well under 500 for the light and outlet, 2kish for the panel. Reading other reviews, and seeing them balk at me getting other quotes, I'm less than impressed. I'm a single female homeowner. Not an idiot.  Do better.

Dear Services installed a Navien instant hot water heater a year ago. Unfortunately, I wasn't there to supervise the installation. The first issue: they should have identified that the old instant hot water heater was covered by a 15 year warranty. It should have been a warranty replacement. Instead, they recommended a full replacement, which cost me $7,000. I can only assume this oversight was because they make quite a bit of money on new hot water heater sales.

The second issue: they completely botched the installation of the new Navien hot water heater.

This month, one year later, the radiant heating stopped working in my home. Dear came out to take a look. After turning up the water temperature, they they told me it was fixed and to wait and see if the hydronic heat worked later that night. I knew it wasn't fixed and asked them to test it. It was still broken. They didn't seem to know what was wrong and appeared to just be making things up. Eventually they concluded that they needed some part, and said they'd be back in touch. Never heard from them again.

I contacted another plumber. He was shocked by the original job. In fact, Dear had both plumbed the Navien improperly and wired the electrical wrong. The latter is why it stopped working, but the former means I'll have to pay to completely redo their work.

The Navien was plumbed so poorly that a pipe could burst and flood my entire ground floor, not to mention various other issues. Fixing this will cost thousands, all because Dear didn't know what they were doing. I have photos and explanation from the new plumber documenting everything.

Between their failure to do a warranty replacement and their complete mishandling of the original job, I'm losing $11,000. Do not go with Dear for instant hot water heaters, radiant heat, or hydronic heating systems. Honestly, just don't go with them at all.

Oh... and they left their jagged, sawed-in-half, dirty orange plastic bucket in my kitchen.

THIEVES and scam artists.  Run as fast as you can in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION.  The level of bold, blatant thievery is so astounding, I'm amazed they're still in business.
My elderly mother called them to help her change out worn out bathroom sink faucets with new ones.  2 guys were miraculously available the same day to come over.  Upon looking at her bathroom sink, they told her that the under sink plumbing wasn't code, and thank God she called them, because she could get electrocuted if she had tried to exchange the faucets herself!  At that point they asked for a credit card number for a down payment on the upcoming work.  Then they wanted to see all the faucets in the house then, and of course proceeded to tell her, that they were all illegal and not code, and would all need to be replumbed for a cost of approx. $1,000.  (NOTE - we sent our close friend, a plumber who unfortunately doesn't live close by, pictures of our under sink plumbing.  He confirmed that all our undersinks were code compliant, and legal, and not in danger of killing us.  He said they actually looked nicely done!). Back to the Dear Services guys... so they told my mom that they wouldn't be able to do the work that day, because they needed to buy all the under sink plumbing stuff first for the whole house, but they would appreciate a check for $49 for the initial service call.  So my mother wrote that $49 check.  They left on Friday promising to come back on Monday to do all the work.  Hours later they charged her credit card $5,000!!!!!!!!!  After no work was done!  We saw that and disputed the charge immediately with their bank, and cancelled the $49 check as well.  Today Dear Services faked a check from my mom from her bank account for $6400!  In the space of 2 days and zero work, they charged her over $11,500!!  They were able to initially get that check cleared because she gave them her credit card number and a check.  The cohones!  What these guys didn't know is that my Mom lives with my husband and I, and we smelled a rat the second we got home.  These clowns won't get a penny from us.  I hope their creepy thieving karma comes back to them for trying to completely take advantage of my amazing, angelic 80 year old mom.  Shame on them!  Please save yourself the aggravation and go elsewhere.  Be safe everyone!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME

I need an entire house remodel. I wanted estimates from Dear for re-wiring, re-plumbing, and replacing the HVAC system.

The plumbing estimate was more than 3x that of the next lowest estimate. Not only that, but they failed to break down the costs in any real intelligible manner. I asked for them to clarify the estimate - but they never did.

I never got estimates for the HVAC nor Electric. For the HVAC and Electric I've had in excess of three reschedules with Dear. Each time, Dear failed to contact me in advance and I was stuck waiting around until the last minute to find out what was going on. With HVAC I had at least one reschedule - only after which they told me that they couldn't service my area for HVAC. Electric got rescheduled so many times without calling me in advance to tell me that the appointment wouldn't work out that I finally cancelled on them.

I'm grateful for his kindness.

Absolutely awful! I started a project with them in February to replace an old breaker box. They sent a guy out told me no problem they would have in done in two weeks. I paid half of their hefty bill up front and waited. Three weeks later a guy came out got all set up and told me he couldn't do it. Said they would send someone else. Three weeks later another guys shows us, says he can't do it. Three weeks after that another guy, who says the city needs to run new lines before he can help. The city inspector calls me a month later wondering why my electrician didn't show up for a meeting. I called they told me it was all being handled. Now it's July, so I called wondering what the status was and they had no answer. Then they hung up on me. If they didn't already have my $2000+ deposit I would start over with a different company.

They are a bunch of clowns, and I would never do business with them again.

I was in desperate need for my water service leaking outside the home to be diagnosed and made the call to 206-735-7604 and spoke with a rep who explained the 69.00 fee to locate it would be subtracted if I wanted them to make the repair. When the technician arrived he plainly stated they do not  diagnose leaks and gave me a couple of ridiculously high quotes to replace or repair after I had someone else come out and determine where the leak was. I was highly pissed off but realized it was not the techs fault and gave up the fee even though my time was wasted and I got nothing in return I will never call them or recommend them again.

We purchased a water heater & a furnace from this company. They did a shoddy job on the water heater instillation & when our condensation pump when out 13 months after purchasing our new furnace they came to our house & said that they could install a new one for $900!!! I went to Lowe's and got the same brand they were trying to sell me for 80$ and put it in myself in 3 minutes We are already having issues with the furnace again. I called this morning and no one even called me back!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

First off, you should all BELIEVE the crappy reviews.  We went with them because we checked the rating on BBB and it was good but we should have gone to Yelp as well.  The salesman was high pressure as someone else mentioned in their review, and quite frankly they quoted us the lowest which is why we went with them.  In order to keep it short I will just put dates:
6/29- original install- they broke one of the zone dampers during install
7/3 - AC stopped working
7/5- called to report issue, said tech would come out 7/6
7/6- tech came out, started working but then it stopped working shortly after and reported issue again
7/7- tech came out said it was installed incorrectly and another guy would come out 7/8
7/8- tech didn't come and we called, now told not coming until 7/9
7/9- no tech arrived all day until several calls to them, a tech finally shows up at 7:40pm???? Due to it being late has asked if he could return 7/10 around 12/1.  The AC was working.
7/10- AC NOT WORKING AGAIN!
7/10- past 1 had to call again, lm.  Said they will send someone 7/11 between 1-7
7/11- Brad came out with another tech and said the unit is defective and needs replacement??
7/13- called to find out what is going on and was told a supervisor would call back
7/14- called again and was a told a manager would be out to to check the unit
7/14- SURPRISE!  No one came again
7/15- called at 8:12am was told someone would call me back
7/15- 12:30pm Ken came out and looked at system and in a nutshell said it wasn't installed right and would be back in next day or two to install correctly
7/16- 9:23 spoke to Joana and at 10:12am I was notified Ken would not be coming out until Monday 7/20
7/20 - spoke to Naomi who stated the original appointment was 7/22 but we let her know we received both a text & email confirmation for today.
7/20- reporting them to BBB

There was a small leak underneath my sink. They were the only ones available the same day. They came in and diagnosed the leak from my garbage disposal and told me I would need a new one which would cost over $1,100 -_-  they told me I can purchase a new one and they can install it which would be $460 (the cheapest option) so I went with that.

It took 2 hours for them to install it even though they said it would be a 40 minx max job. But whatever as long as its done right. As soon as the guy left it started leaking again so I chased him down and he was able to fix it then he left and 20 mins later it started to leak again. Ridiculous!

I called the customer service and they told me they would give me a call tomorrow. Tomorrow came but no calls from them. I called them back the next day and no callbacks from them then I call back again and I get angry. Finally, they sent someone over two days later. The new guy was good and was able to diagnose it within a minute.
He said I did not need a new garbage disposal. The pipe was leaking. he just used some elbow grease and tightened the pipe which solved the issue, but meanwhile, I had to buy a brand new garbage disposal and they scammed me out of $460 because clearly, I didn't need one.

By the way, I still have not received a call from their manager. I called back two weeks after this incident giving them enough time to contact me on their own, but they did not. I asked what they will do about this and they said they would call back. Today is been another full week, but no calls from them. What a joke of a company. No service whatsoever.

Confirmed appointment the day before electrician was to be dispatched to the house. Day of appointment - no show. Call to ask what's going on and the company informs us they moved our appointment to the following day - without telling us - because the technician called out. I know emergencies can happen so we reschedule. After an hour and a half of waiting on the 2nd day, I call the company to confirm someone is coming out. Yes, don't worry, someone is coming. An hour later I get a phone call: All of our electricians aren't feeling well and it's our policy to have them take the day off. I'm not sure what's happening with their labor force but I'm not interested in getting yanked around anymore. Totally unprofessional. Find someone else!!!

SCAM COMPANY. Reberta and Sully, the two females who answer the phone, are lying, rude, condescending humans which fits perfectly with this pathetic company. The Electrician lied about the quote and then charged $600 more than what he stated prior to starting the repairs. Morally unethical company. Never do business with them!

Dear installed my new AC/Heat unit 2 years ago; good work. Not so good on any smaller services. I've now tried 3 times to get Dear to do electrical work. They called me at 11:30 to tell me they couldn't make an 8-12 service appointment 2 weeks ago; rescheduled to today. It's 12:00, no show, no call, no one answering the phone, AI Chat function not helpful. Won't call them again for smaller work.

My ac unit is not working the way it has the past 12 years since I bought my house. The team that came out from Dear Services looked around the ac unit, without taking it apart to run any internal or electrical diagnostic tests. They checked the temperature of the air coming out of the vents, and simply just looked at my thermostat and furnace. They determined that everything was fine and the ac unit was working as it was supposed to. Despite my telling them that it is not working, nor is it cooling the house (house won't get below 74 degrees, even when 70 outside, and last year would cool the house down to 62 degrees on a 90 degree day). Don't waste your time here, they appear not to know what they are doing.

A tenant called me at 7:00 PM explaining the furnace in my rental property went out. I didn't want my tenants to suffer in the cold so I tried contacting numerous residential heating companies to come for an emergency assessment of the situation.  I called DEAR Services who was quick to dispatch a technician to the home the next morning.

At 8:00 AM I received a call from the technician stating he was on the way to the rental home to perform an inspection. After a few hours later he calls me back explaining that the heater needs to be replaced due to such old existing unit. Makes sense, the old heater furnace was over 40 years old. He explains that another technician will arrive by noon to do an estimate based on the options I have.  Second technician arrives during the lunch hours and explains the different options, models, etc I can chose from. They can have a technician to begin the installation the next morning. I ended choosing a new furnace which ended costing over $4,000.00 including parts, labor, and a 10-year warranty.  No problem there, I just want my tenants to have heat in the home.

Next morning the technician calls at 8:30 AM to tell he is on the way and that he will call me later in the day when he was done with the installation. I call at noon to see if the technician had an estimated time of completion, no answer.  By 3:00 PM I had not heard back so I called my tenant to see if the tech was still working on the home. The tenant told me the tech had left the home but also left the wires to the furnace exposed and unfinished. They still have no heat. I called DEAR Services and spoke to their representative explaining the situation. Dispatch will contact the technician to see what's going on as they have no further details or notes left by the tech in their system. I never heard back.

5:00 PM hits and I get a call from a different technician explaining he is going to the home to do electrical work. He told me the previous technician ran into some technical difficulties so the electrician had to be called in. By 8:00 PM I tried calling the technician but his number directs me back DEAR's main dispatch. I asked dispatch if the electrician had completed the the job yet, again dispatch did not have any further information to share with me and told me they will have the technician contact me when he finishes.

By 10:00 PM I call the tenant who told me they have heat in the home and the technician had left.

To this day I never got a follow up during the installation or even understood what technical difficulties they ran into. Because as a homeowner/landlord I like to keep notes on exactly what was done. They are quick to sell you a job. They did the job, hopefully it is correct, but their communication is most definitely lacking. Will I experience the same issue if I need their work warrantied?

This review is for Dear Services plumbing/sewer services.

Yikes.

I had an overflow issue caused by a backup in my mainline sewer.  The Dear Services operator on the phone quoted me $84 because they were having a special.  When the plumber got there, NOPE, guess what?  That special is for your internal pipes... not your mainline, and your mainline blockage removal will cost you $450 plus tax.  WTF???

I went ahead and paid that because the overflow had already caused significant damage to my new hardwood floors.  Then--they triage the mainline by using their camera.  When I asked for a copy of the video--they asked for $200, just because it costs money to upload the video to an external server... blah blah.  Sorry--I work in Technology and that just doesn't fly. Total rip off.

Then they quote me $6,800 just to excavate a small section of my mainline so that they can hyrdojet the pipe to FIND the issue.  That was over six thousand dollars with NO promise of an actual fix.  Whatever the fix would be, they would be charging extra.

I asked another plumbing/sewer specialist to come check the next day, and they came and did another camera check, found the specific areas of trouble and even marked it in my yard for me... a service that this local service provided me for FREE.  They also quoted me a replacement of my mainline for only a small percentage more than Dear Services was quoting to excavate and do further triage of the mainline pipe issue (which would also cause quite a bit of damage to my yard and walkway..which I am sure they would offer to fix with other Dear Services for a substantial amount of $$$).

Ladies and gents, Dear Services is a large corporation and they do not look out for the little guys.  Don't use them unless you have extra cash to throw down the drain (literally and figuratively).

I have to warn people about these guys. They will show up in time but they will also up sell you over 7000$. I called in to service my  garbage disposal and when arrived they mentioned about the previous owner cutting corners and want to redo everything for 7000$ and wanted to put in a payment plan. Really a payment plan for a garbage disposal call. I don't know any one that charge over 900$ to replace a garbage disposal but I paid it. If you are desperate call these guys. Otherwise you will get a fat bill by up selling you. I will look for other areas where these guys are and give them a bad review  because of the crap that they pull. I will file a complaint to bbb as well. It seems like I'm not the only one from other reviews. Stay away from these people unless you are desperate. If I can give 0 star or negative I would.

I cannot be happier with Dear Electric! I had to replace the bathroom fan with a more powerful unit instead of the contractor grade unit came with the condo. I scheduled the replacement work thru Amazon Home Services but they messed up and my appointment did not reflect on Dear Electric's side.

When the scheduled appointment time passed, I thought Dear Electric had a no show so I called Amazon Home Services and eventually got in touch with David from Dear Electric. He explained that they do not have my appointment in their system but would try their best to accommodate me in that day.

Eventually I got my bathroom fan replaced under short notice to Dear Electric and their staff that I had the chance to talk to were all very friendly and apologetic even though it was not their fault.

I would definitely recommend Dear Electric to anyone looking to do some electrical work!

My elderly father was having problems with his dishwasher leaking so my sister found this company.  They came out in December 2020 and were suppose to fix it and charged him $3,000.  Now a little over 6 months, the dishwasher is leaking again.  I called the company to inform them of this matter and asked what work they had performed because there is no detail on the invoice.  The invoice just reads unspecified.  The operator told me that she did not have anymore information on the details of the work provided and that I would have to talk to management to get that information because they are the ones who have access to this.  They told me a manger would get back because no one was available.  I later got a call around 6pm, not from management, but from someone other than management who could not provide me with these details.  I was really frustrated and expressed how weird it is that no details are listed for the work performed.  We since have found another company to look at this issue, and was told it was a repair that would require less than $1,000 to fix.  So this company has received 3 times the amount, and cannot provide details on what service they provided.  I would be very cautious before hiring this company.

Made an appointment with this company to come check out a nonfunctioning baseboard heater. Appointment was scheduled for Friday between 8 AM and 12 noon. On Friday they called and said they couldn't make it, whether Saturday in the same time window would be OK. I confirmed. I waited on Saturday until 12:40 PM, nobody called nobody showed up. I finally called to ask. I was told my window was 10 AM to 2 PM. I told them it was 8 AM to 12 noon. Whatever. I waited till 2 PM, nobody called, nobody showed up. I called again and asked, they said it would now be between 2 and 4 PM. I waited till 4 PM, nobody called, nobody showed up. I called again and canceled the appointment. Will need to find a different company to help us out.

Nothing Runs like a Dear Services, sorry for the rip off Green Tractor company.  Dear services means business, they know the old school value of customer service and demonstrate this principal each and every time I do business with them.  It would be a long journey to find an equal to Dear Services, a company that has and performs the way they do.   I have a goal to build my own custom home some day, nothing to big, just a nice custom home that will have no corners cut.  When I build that home, Dear Services will be the company that will have installed my Electric, Heating, lighting, Sound and anything more that they may offer at the time.  I have constructed 6 homes or had a hand in the construction of the homes and Dear is my go to company because they do it right.

Moreover, Walid Bazara was called on to make a late night trip for my inoperative furnace.  In under 5 min he figured out that my exhaust drain had water trapped from all of the rain we recently had.  He spent more time testing and ensuring his fix was good and that our furnace ran properly rather than trouble shooting.  Walid knows his business and is a gentleman as well.

Dear is my company, nothing more to say.

I cannot get them to finish what they started, I make appointments they dont show up, when they do it's one guy and I have paid them 32k well one guy gets a couple outlets swapped out but definitely not the list a page long that needs some. They have delayed several contractors and now I'm begging for them to come finish for Christmas and was again for the 12th time promised a full day with more than one guy had to wait 3 weeks for this and no ones here, again!! 6 months later!!! No lights no switches open outlets with wires everywhere DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ! UNLESS U ARE DOING 1 SIMPLE THING. THESE GUYS SUCK!

Your comment david, is very dishonest, I have 4 invoices and btw have been charged for a hot tub power box and breaker 3 times,  it's not even started. And half of my project IS NOT done! And I've been begging you guys for several weeks for appointments. You send one guy. Yes I was scheduled 3 weeks ago for 2 full days today and tomorrow and was supposed to have full crews to finish, they arent here, it's almost noon, I'm told that 1 guy will be here late this afternoon? I've had several appointments,  u send 1 guy, he does 3 or 4 outlet changes which btw have no power!

And furthermore, David,  I tracked your number down several weeks ago and left a message in hope's of getting things worked out, as the owner of the business I would think you would have wanted to chat....no call back from ya. I'm a very easy going person and super understanding however, everyone has a limit.

We asked why they didn't show up on the 17th if that is when the appointment was on their books and they said there was no tech available????? We recently had a gas leak and got a quote through Home Advisor from Dear Services. I hired them and technician Matthew came out to do the job. Do not do business with them.  Technicians are only trainees with no supervision from a Journeyman as required by law.  Also do not pull permits for work performed.  The owner, David Hirst, only cares about the revenue and not the customers satisfaction or operating in a transparent or honest way.  He should be closed down.

Beware of this company. They will offer you so many deals, but fail to deliver. It took several visits for them to correct the mistakes that their plumber made during the installation of my water heater. This could be avoided if the guy had installed it right the first time. Also, they forgot about a thermostat that was included in the package. Also, customer service is non existent as they say they will call you when a manager available, but it never happens. It took me calling daily to finally talk to someone. This company is a scam. Save your time and sanity and go with someone else.

Dear Services came to my house a result of my furnace having a ignition problem.  It was not lighting.  When Dear Arived they said first thing they had to do is make sure the heat exchanger was not cracked.  They used a test that I can not find another HVAC company that says its a valid test.  Of course they said my heat exchanger was cracked and the entire furnace needed to be replaced as it was a saftey issue and was unsafe.  With my wife hearing this we had to have the furnace replaced.  I was skeptical.  They replaced the furnace with a new one and it did the same thing.  I wouldn't light.  They said I wasn't getting proper gas pressure and said they had nothing to do with this problem to call the gas company.  PSE sent someone out to check the pressure and found it was fine but the earthquake valve had been bumped.  PSE reset it and Dear came out and started the furnace which now worked perfectly.  I complained that they had sold me a furnace that I didn't need.  They claimed the heat exchangers were cracked.  So I took them out of the old furnace for inspection and found they had no cracks.  I went as far as to have them professionally inspected and they had no cracks.   I Dear services about 50 times finally spoke with David Hirst the owner of the kent Dear Services and he said he would send some one out to inspect the unit since I was complaining of extreme noise from the unit and then once that was taken care he would see about making thiings right.  He has not done a thing and 50 calls later and he is still dodging my calls.   So my advice is keep this company as far away from you as possible and use another company.  A repair that another company told me we likely cost between $200-$400 ended up costing $10,400+.  This company was dishonest with me and continues to dodge my calls I am still trying to get get the owner to step and make things right.

I run a large condo building in Bellevue and one of my older residents had a leaking toilet and called Dear Services who came out and gave an estimate to replace two toilets.  They had the husband who is a senior with significantly declined cognitive function sign the invoice authorization.  I've been around long enough to know that to replace two toilets is not a $4,300 job.
The maximum for two toilets and the plumbing work to install them is about $800 based on standard billing rates.  Turns out the tech (not a plumber as far as we know) were here for five hours so that makes it a $850 per hour job.  The resident only needed one toilet repaired or replaced but they came up with some reason why they needed two and then on the final invoice they wrote that they had replaced both water supply lines and shut offs.  This is news to me because they would have had to arrange for a full water shut off for that portion of the building to replace those items.  After the resident mentioned this to me I got involved and contacted dear services.  Over the course of five months and nine different attempts to make contact with the elusive John or Desiree and either not getting my phone calls returned or being told they would look into it and get back to me which no one ever did. it's now the middle of March and I was able to speak to Desiree one of the office managers, she assured me that because they got the signature on the job that it's totally legit but that she would offer a 10% refund because they were seniors. I am blown away by the lack of ethical behavior bordering on criminal (we'll find out whether the attorney general feels that way shortly). I'm still shocked that companies that behave this way still get people to call them. Beware, steer clear and protect yourselves from predatory discrimination and clear taking advantage of seniors and the disabled.

I would recommend calling someone else.  Here's the story.  My (quarantined) mother in law was coming in for Christmas and the guest room shower had no hot water.  The Dear Services plumber came out and said it would cost $2,300 for the repair.  This is a $150 - $250 part and took the plumbers about an hour, maybe two to fix.  I was out of time so I hired them to do the work.  While the plumbers were out here, the pressure gauge on our well water line *suspiciously* broke.  Now we have no water at all.  The quote on this was $1,000.  It's a $50 to $100 part and took about 1/2 hour to fix.  Again, I didn't have time to get another plumber out before I needed to have water.  In all, they charged about $3,000 for something like 3-4 hours labor plus the parts.  Even so I would not have written this review but when I asked for an invoice with labor and materials broken out on it that I could submit to my homeowner warranty company for at least partial reimbursement,   they would not provide it even after I escalated my multiple requests to the owner.  I have reported this company to the Better Business Bureau.

Funny how they have 4.4 stars. They quoted me $15k for a furnance and heat pump on a home we were selling. Told them that was too much then they came down to $14k and $13k while still in my house for the estimate. Told them still more than I wanted to spend. Then a few weeks later the guy says $8500and I say ok. They tell me the brand and come out and install it. I noticed it wasnt the same brand and was a 3 ton unit in a 1600sf house. All they did was make sure it turned on before leaving. Not if it actually worked correctly. Even the installers said it was too large for the house. And you couldn't hear yourself talk from the other side of the house. I call and speak to the owner David Hirst he said he switched the size and brand because that's what they had in Stock and the correct one would take 10 days to get it. Well I didnt say I needed this asap. Then nothing but issues for 2 months before they got it right and had to replace both units again. They hire unqualified people and all of the people that came to my house would talk bad about others that worked there. Worst mistake of my life was using this company
David Hirst the owner never has time to reply or take phone calls unless your leaving a good review on facebook.

I wish I could put a better review up of the actual work DEAR performed but alas, after calling on a Monday for a drain clog, and being told they could get to me faster than the other plumbing appointment I'd booked, I canceled at the other place. I was told later that day they couldn't get to me on either of the days they'd previously promised, they could be there Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning came along, they called around 10 to say they could do Thursday. Foolishly, at this point, I agreed - Thursday morning and I was told after noon that they'd be there by the end of the day. I shouldn't have been shocked when someone called me at 5 PM apologizing and promising they'd show up the next morning DEFINITELY. Well, I waited four hours on that Friday morning and it was a no show. Literally, four reschedules, multiple no-shows, I am only kicking myself for not reading the signs and booking another company when I had the chance this week. Never, ever again DEAR.

I asked why they didn't contact us and they had no answer. This is the worst customer service and poorly run business I have ever heard of. We will take our business elsewhere. No apology, nothing. Big fat zero rating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We recently had a gas leak and got a quote through Home Advisor from Dear Services. I hired them and technician Matthew came out to do the job. Not only did he do an amazing  job, he assisted me with finding an incredible source to do facets of the repair that completed the job. He did this in a timely manner, and updated me during the process. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again in the future!

The plumber showed up, could not unclog the drain. He gave me a bid for $1200.00 for two hours of work. I told him that is higher than the highest priced attorney. He told me there was the cost of parts!!!!??? Are you kidding me, a few dollars worth of PVC pipe!!!??  I would NEVER recommend these crooks!!!!!!!

But like they did today 2/20/21 I left a negative comment on facebook now im blocked and cant leave another comment and my review is gone!

Needed a new water line installed. Scheduled for an appt for today for an estimate. Night before I got several texts to confirm my appt, I confirmed. Scheduler said someone would be at the home between 8-12pm. Took the day off and waited, no one showed up. No courtesy call. Finally got a text around 2pm saying sorry for the delay, we will be there in 45 mins. Terrible customer service

6 days ago I posted my review and I'd like to say my issue has been resolved....but no, so I caution you to consider prior customer reviews if you choose to  use this company. While using this company I experienced bait and switch tactics, disorganization, dishonesty, and the threat of not getting my entire refund returned because this company failed to provide promised services.

I've been waiting for a refund  of my deposit that was promised to be processed the same day I requested it that has not happened. The project manager I spoke to about my refund request gave me some story that it could take a few weeks to process. He then stated it was because of my bank and how they would process my refund. I checked with my bank and this statement is completely inaccurate, especially these days with digital banking, and was informed that refunds are processed in two business day for most banks.
Oh, and I forgot to mention as soon as I posted my first review the Project Manager called me to ask me to change my review as the company was working really hard to fix their problems. (Who does that?) I agreed to  change my review as I thought maybe my experience was a fluke and that they were really  trying to improve. Not to mention the project manager threatening they didn't have to return all of my deposit but that he would do me a favor and make sure I got every cent with the inference that changing my review would influence this action. When we discussed the first, guaranteed price, the project manager blamed the tech and stated that if they honored that for all customers they'd have to let some of their people go. This makes me wonder how many other customers have had similar issues. I did more research and this company has been working really hard to fix their problems for a few years now  (Thanks Better Business Bureau for the info!) and I've read reviews of other customers that had similar problems with service, changing quotes, and problems getting a refund.
Long and the short of it, I've not received my refund, found another contractor to do the work (at half the cost of the final quote) and contacted the Better Business Bureau for assistance. Use them at your own peril.

*Plumbing / Broken Water Spicket*
Contacting the CO. was easy. Spoke via phone & text. Quick responses & they sent a pic of the Tech (for I.D. purposes).
Scheduling the work was easy because the super friendly Tech (Nick) had an IPad & was able to book it right in front of us.
We had an unfortunate issue come up & had to reschedule just hours before the appt. They were accommodating & squeezed us in the next day!
The work was completed within 1.5hrs. He cleaned up & vacuumed the surrounding work area under the sink & was on his way.
I'm definitely utilizing this CO. again if we have any plumbing issues & would request Nick for the Tech.  Thanks again! Kristi D./Tacoma

Went into Home Advisor and this was the first place that popped up.  Turns out they don't give free estimates. They wanted $1300 to put in 25 feet of iron gas pipe along a wall in the garage and into a laundry room for a dryer. No drywall work no digging.  Then they charged $70 for the estimate. No way do I recommend you use this company unless they tell you up front before they arrive that they charge $70 for estimates.  They just pay Home Advisor a premium to be first up in the recommendation list. Bogus!! I wouldn't even give one star except you have to give something.

Don't walk, RUN from this company!  I had a sump pump failure under my house which I discovered the day after Thanksgiving.  There was standing water so I called the first two plumbing companies that I saw and Dear Services said they could come out right away, so I went with them. From there, it was a nightmare.  Like many reviewers here, they overcharge by at least 5 times the cost of typical parts plus labor, and have a mickey mouse invoice that doesn't include any itemization of parts, model numbers, labor costs, or anything necessary to submit an actual insurance claim.  They instead list the tasks performed with codes that have no reference for what the codes actually cost.  I had to have an additional company come out to dry out and clear out the space and replace the vapor barrier, and it was only then that they alerted me Dear Services had not installed the new sump pump correctly--it was spraying water all over my new vapor barrier.
But what's worse, is they do not actually respond to calls when there's a problem.  I had to call nearly every day for a month to discuss my invoice (including the undisclosed, unauthorized additional tax cost) and every day, the customer service reps (there are many) would say someone from management would get back to me the next day, but then they never would.  The owner also charged me TWICE--once for the original amount and again for the adjusted amount, and it took over a month to return my original payment--and they couldn't just credit back my card but instead I had to wait for a check to arrive in the mail after multiple weeks and hours spent calling and demanding my return payment.  This company should not be in business.  The management is avoidant and evasive and it's nearly impossible to reach anyone who can respond substantively to the business issues.

I had DEAR Services come this week 1-20-2020.  I have a circuit breaker that kept tripping so I thought it needed fixing I was worried about a short.  So, Nicholas B. came and took out the old one and replaced it.  He charged me 775.00 and said he thought that was fixed.  Well, it wasn't, it kept tripping.  So, he came back and took it apart and discovered that that breaker doesn't go anywhere.  which sounded odd to me but he did check my plug-ins inside and outside.  Nothing showed up.  so he disconnected that breaker.  So, I got a non-working breaker replaced and so-called fixed for $775.00 and he said if anything in the house didn't work to call him back.  I feel very cheated.  That price was so off the charts there's no reason to charge prices like that.  I would never use them ever again.  Dear services overcharge to the max.  I would never recommend them ever!!!!

Guess I should have read some of the reviews before calling this place. Made an appointment for Monday March 8. Was told between 1 and 5. After 5 I figured they wouldn't be coming. They show up at 6:30. I showed them the problem. They said the bathtub stems would probably need replaced since the washers I had replaced seemed to fail. They said they would give me a quote but wouldn't be able to do it today. I asked when they said tomorrow between 1 and 5. Oh so I would have to waste another day off. Then they come back with a quote of $795.00. I about fell over. To change 3 stems on a bathtub they want $795.00. I told them no way. That is nothing but theft. I think they charge to much and if they weren't going to be here on time they should have called or sent me a text.

This is long overdue!! We just got a new range and found out that the old one was hard wired into the wall. We called them and made an appointment. At the time I had 3 other people for other different services that we needed for the house. I greeted them and pretty much barely talked to them when they were there. They moved the old range out and did their thing. About 15 minutes went by and I forgot to let them know that they needed to make the outlet lower so it would clear the new range. Went over to talk to them and saw that they already took that into consideration. At the end when they finished, they explained what they did and that they even tried to cover the hole that was now in the wall from fixing the hard wiring. I was appreciative about them trying to cover the hole, but they gave me a few ideas on how to cover it since they didn't have the right material. They also explained to me the circuit breaker which was nice of them although I already knew it.

Great customer service and very patient and understanding! I would definitely recommend them for your electrical needs!

Don't hire this company.  Wish I would've read the Yelp reviews first.  Salesman was high pressure, actually said you are stupid if you don't purchase the additional $1200 Total Care Plan - asked him if I could change my mind/cancel the next day (when they were going to install) and he said no problem.  Told 4 other employees the next day, plus called the office, to make sure they didn't charge me the extra $1200.....all of them said no problem (witnesses present)....shocker....they charged me and now 2 weeks later, 10 phone calls, complaint to BBB, there has been no refund and no response from any managers or the owner, David Hirst.  By the way, they are supposed to get a permit before installation and then the city inspector comes out.....none of that has happened....and when I asked they couldn't give me a straight answer.  How are these guys still in business?

One sentence summary: I have a water leaking problem under kitchen sink, after paying around $1200, there is still leaking, sigh...

I had an appointment today to get a quote on fixing a water leaking problem underneath my kitchen sink (NOTE: the onsite quote will cost you $69 if you decide not to do the work after the quote). After checking, I was told that the kitchen faucet, and two small angle stops are identified to be the problem and I need to replace all of them. Here is the breakdown for replacing these parts for your reference: the price to replace the kitchen faucet is $453; the price to replace ONE small angle stop is 312, so I need to pay $624 for replacing those two small angle stops. These prices are before tax, so I end up paying around $1200. After the quote, I hesitated for quite a while because of the high cost, however, I finally decided to do the replacement in hope of fixing the leaking problem. The whole procedure took about 3 hours, although the actual replacement took only around 20 minutes. They went back twice to get some parts for the rest of the time. Finally, the work was done, I paid $1200, anyway, I thought my problem was solved. However, when I checked just now, guess what, there is still leaking! This made me doubt about everything, did they identify the problem correctly? Do I really need to pay $1200 to replace these parts since the problem is not solved?

I will make a call to them tomorrow, and see how they are gonna fix this. As for now, I am full of disappointment.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Update on my experience the next day (01/10).
On 01/10, in the morning, I received message from Dear Service and confirmed that someone will be at my home around 6pm ~ 7pm to get the problem fixed. After that, I made two additional calls with them to explain the situation, and to confirm the actual time when someone would come (since earlier they mentioned that they were fully booked that day, and was still not sure who from their side was going to be assigned). During the first call, I was told that if there was anyone free, then someone will likely to come between 6pm ~ 8pm. During the second call, I was told someone will arrive between 7pm ~ 8pm.

Ok,I waited at home after work. Then at around 6:20pm, I received a call from Dear Service. I was hoping it would be the tech who was going to come to fix the problem. However, here is what was actually happening:

As soon as I picked up my phone, I was being asked to confirm my name, and the guy (he didn't reveal his name) started to ask a few questions on what happened. This is pretty weird, because I had already made online chatting with them, messages with them and two calls with them. They should be pretty sure about what was happening. During the process I was explaining that the leaking problem was still there after the fix, I was rudely interrupted several times, and was asked to emphasize a few keywords. After my explanation, the guy said: Listen, all you just said have been RECORDED. If we send someone there, and it does not match exactly what you are saying, you have to pay $69 for the dispatch; or $90 something?(he seemed to be talking to someone else for the amount), then hang up the phone. Sigh... I paid a lot to fix the leaking problem, and my problem was not fixed. Their reaction is not to finish their job, but to be fully prepared to argue with me.

At around 8:00pm, the same tech who did the job yesterday came, and identify that it was their problem that they did not install the two angle stops properly, and get this fixed. There seems to be no leaking now.

We hired them through Amazon Home Services and we are glad we found Dear Electric!
Billy was here on time, was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, and he was able to diagnose and fix the electrical issues we had timely.  He was really good about explaining why there were issues, how he is going to fix them, and what the price would be.  We had nothing but a pleasant experience with him.  I would hire Dear Electric again and would highly recommend them to others!!

Sure wish I had read some Yelp reviews before calling to schedule an appt. for air duct cleaning......
I made an appt. 1 week in advance and was sent a text confirmation the evening before (9/2/20). My service window 8am-12pm. I called at 11:50am as I hadn't heard from them. I was told my window had been changed to 10am-2pm. At 1pm they called and said their technician had an emergency and wouldn't be back until the following Tuesday, and could he do the cleaning then. I told them that I had taken the day off of work to have this done so that was not an option.
I reached out to Dear Services on their website to see if they could get someone out today, they said they would contact their team and call me when they had an answer. I did not hear back from them. I called again! we're sorry but we don't have anyone to clean your air ducts today .
I understand emergencies happen, but to not inform your customer of an appt. change or get back to them with answers to their questions in a timely manner......NOT COOL!!!
Don't bother with this company!

Dear Electric is a full on scam. Do not use them. They'll bait and switch you with a low quote price, then jack up the price after you've already taken time off work. If that's not enough, they then try to upsell you to some BS premium service that's basically an excuse for them to find even more problems that you didn't know existed (and might not exist).

- I was quoted $60 for someone to come look at track lighting in my kitchen that was on the fritz
- As soon as the electrician arrived, and before he actually looked at anything, he said it was going to be ~$550 to diagnose the problem.  And that price didn't include actually fixing anything.
- When I asked why the difference between the amount I was quoted - $60 - and $550, he said that $60 was just to physically come to my house.
- I had taken the afternoon off work, during a super busy time, because I had to get the lights fixed ASAP. I was going to be traveling for much of the following weeks and didn't want to leave my house/dog sitter stuck w/o the ability to use the kitchen at night.
- So I decided to agree to the $550.
- After he diagnosed the problem, he then told me he had a great deal. He told me it would only be $15 more dollars to sign up for some premium program.
- By that point, I knew it was all BS but I was also stuck because I'm already $550 invested AND more importantly needed to get the damn light fixed so I agreed.
- After stewing on it for the night, it just made me angry that I was scammed into such an egregiously crooked situation. I called and lodged the complaint and found a different electrician to fix the light.

Called and they booked me for the same day service because our heat pump quit working.  Our appt time was from 1 to 7.  At 6pm when no one showed up, I called and was told who was coming out and that he was still on another service call.  Said they would get an eta and let me know then was transferred to dispatch to find out more info and left a message.  An hour later still no technician, so I called again and was told they didn't even show that I ever had an appt.  Made another appt for Saturday (the soonest they had) with my name on the emergency list in case of a cancellation.  Then first thing the next morning I get a call from a different lady ( I think Angie) and was told someone would be out first thing this morning.   Tech came right out (poor guy was super tired from working till 1am last night), but got right to work and got the job done quickly and the charge was not too bad either.

Wow! Scheduled some electrical work. They missed the first appointment and said that they needed to reschedule in the morning.  The morning came and went so at 12:00 noon I called them and she gave me a 1-7pm window. I again called at 2:14pm to make sure they were still coming. I have waited all day for them. Finally received a text to call them. I called 11 minutes later only to be told I missed my window because of my 11 minute response time (I was outside in my yard). She stated I can have a new appointment for Sunday if I like. I initially contacted them on Tuesday through Homeadvisor. Sunday doesn't work for me. Totally unacceptable. Stay away and save the frustration. By the way sounds like a call center is actually handling their calls.

We bought a new furnace and water heater from Dear Services. During the installation I was very disappointed to realize that there was literally no communication between their sales department and their installers. The appropriate tools were not brought on the install day. Communication regarding challenges with the installation, because our home is 102 years old, were not conveyed to the installers making the day unnecessarily frustrating and challenging. The furnace installer, who was quite knowledgeable and friendly, noticed that there was a Missing on the furnace. It did not affect the function ability but regardless, needed to be installed. We have had a furnace for over three months and have never heard back from Dear Services. I have also reached out to them several times regarding the very unprofessional job that was done on the exhaust vent. The hole that was drilled in our concrete slab was a disaster and the patch job was ridiculous. After complaining several Times and Electrician was sent out in the dark to try to repair the patch job. He showed up without even communicating with the original installer and brought a different product so now, it looks even worse. This wouldn't be that big of a deal but the vent is on the side of our house right where everyone drives up. The last time I reached out to them I spoke with a manager who assured me they would correct this issue. I have never heard back from them! (Nov. 15th)

I did not have an ideal experience. The concrete patching on the asphalt after it had been reinstated was uneven. I asked DEAR services to fix it. 3  separate times, they said they'd send someone over and I stayed home that day waiting; each of those 3 times, no one showed up. Finally, they said they wouldn't fix it, since the work had been completed. They should have just told me that from the start.

Furthermore, the work involved marking my driveway with spray paint that won't come off for months, a driveway I share with my neighbors. I feel DEAR services should have removed this paint as part of the job, or used one that would wash off easily. I ended up having to pay another company an additional hundreds to pressure-wash and bleach it, and it's still not completely washed off because it's an oil-based paint.

Later on, my neighbors had problems with backing up, and investigated with a plumber. There was gravel in the pipe. Apparently, when DEAR Services installed a clean out access point, they poured the gravel into the hole while the pipe was still open, causing the gravel to get into the shared line. This could cost me and my neighbors a small fortune.

Those other plumbers also claim I was charged way more than what I should have. And they say the concrete work applied was very sloppy.

Finally, DEAR Services said additional work needed to be subcontracted out. I've been waiting for them to follow up on this, and they never did. I called them, they said they'd call back, and never did. I tried following up, and they said they'd get back, and never did. This has happened over and over and over again.

I have had the most unprofessional experience with Dear Electric. They rescheduled or cancelled my appointment twice without giving me any notice. Also, they didn't give me any quote on the work and then cancelled my appointment. One time it was a no show and they had no idea about no show.

I had to adjust schedule of my team twice hoping that they will show up. I do not recommend their services.

Company's installers I initially loved (and even tipped them), however that was day one. Since that time, I hired the company to preform work at commercial property of mine, requesting same installers, they came out and worked with manager. They were unable to perform the task, however I was told on phone I would be charged nearly $200 for time and if I wanted problem fixed (the one they couldn't figure out), it would be over $700.
Not to mention, all this was communicated to me by the guy I had given a nice tip to just few days earlier. He acted like he had no clue who I was.

Come to find out, they were there at the property for over 2 hours. 2 guys for 2 hours and I asked what was done during that time and they said they took pictures of the unit. Period. That was it- now they wanted $200.

I called and wanted to talk with billing and then was told the owner would call me. He never called so I called the following day and setup call with David. I call during the time agreed and he wasn't available then I said why set the time with me then? and receptionist dispatched me through only to get a hangup. So I call back and just get he's not available, she says he will call me back because he's busy.  Ok then, he is only one who is busy?

The great install I thought was done at my home, only has heat or cool, somehow the fan function was lost. Anyways, my review is just to go with another company.

I had a problem with a heater in a rental property. Contacted Dear Services and they promised me that a technician would be there the next morning between 8-12 noon. At 11 am that day I called them and they stated that the technician was tied up on another job and they could either reset the appt for that evening or the next day  between 8 and noon.  The evening appt would not work for myself or tenant so set up an appt for the following  morning.  The next morning  I again had to call them at 11:30  and found that they could not respond until Monday.  NOT GOOD.
Their failure to first contact me and explain they could not meet the appointment shows a complete lack of customer service.  I have no idea what the quality of work would have been since they missed two appts. but I suspect  if their scheduling is so messed up so would be their work performance.

They provide a horrible service. During installation they make high promises on how they will get fixed any problems that occur in the future within 24 hours, but I have been stuck with a broken new AC I got installed from them for over 4 weeks now. Twice the appointment got changed and once no body showed up and din't even bother to call me back or setup a new appointment.

I am looking to get ride of the AC they installed and find someone who provides better guarantee.

Worst part is that it is summer time, and it has been only one month since getting new AC from DEAR services.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE

First, let me say that Lukas, the electrician that showed up to estimate the job, was courteous and actually early. So this review is no reflection on him...just the company and their pricing and policies.

They were scheduled to come out between noon and 3 on a Wednesday. After taking off work half a day and expecting, as promised, a phone call when they were on their way...its 2:45pm and still no call. We called them at 3 and they informed us an emergency job prevented them from coming out. I'm not overly upset at them not showing, but them not calling and letting me know.

Fast forward...we reschedule the appointment for the following Tuesday between 3 and 6pm. As stated they were actually early, but after the inspection, I'm informed that the cost to install three 40 amp breakers for a tankless water heater will cost almost $3500! I might add that the water heater is conveniently mounted on the other side of a thin wall where the breaker box is....about a hour job.  Oh, and they can't do it today since they have to order the parts (although beforehand I told them exactly what the plumber said they would need, three 40 amp double throw breakers and about 5 feet of wire per breaker). And you get charged $69 for the service call if you decline the estimate.

Bottom line, according to every electrician I've spoken with since its about a $400 job, tops. Needless to say, we didn't go with Dear Electric and I'm not commenting on their quality of work, as I've read many positives reviews for them. But, really, quoting $3500 for a one hour job that most electricians would charge $400 for seems a bit steep to me.

My project was to have two fan exhaust ducts connected to roof ports Mind you the exhaust fans were already in place. They were late, did not call ahead to inform me the time had changed. The price they gave me for this project was $4,012!! They sent a rookie out to estimate the job and he had to call the office for advise. Clearly these folks have no understanding of pricing small projects. I could have had a roof and the vents installed for their price.  I had someone else do it for $125.  This company may do other projects well, but clearly failed on my end. I would not hire them again base on my experience.

We have had Dear Services do many jobs for us over the last 3 years and we had been so happy with all the work they've done. Until now.... We were going to have some work done but decided to cancel the work until later. The issue is that they charged our credit card for the work anyway. It has been over a month and we are still waiting for the refund. We've call 6 times, emailed twice (no response) and still no refund. What do we have to do to get our refund?? The most frustrating part of this is that the only person to talk to are their receptionists and we aren't sure they are giving the messages.

We had several outlets that quit working. Using HomeAdvisors for past home projects, we called them and they referred us to Dear Services. Dear E dispatched a tech, William, who found and replaced faulty equipment.  When we encountered another problem, we again called Dear and Nick responded and solved our issue. Dear has professional workers, all are well trained an knowledgeable.  They do things right and stand behind their work - Techs call with an eta allowing customer the courtesy of knowing within a narrow window when help will arrive ...

WAY OVERPRICED!  The scheduler was nice, and Lucas was nice enough, but when he told me the price to simply hook up our new wall oven ($333+tax), I about fell over.  The oven was already installed, just needed to be hooked to the wire.  Seriously, $333 for a 5 to 10-minute job is ridiculous!  I knew about the $69 service fee, so I figured the total would be maybe $100 since he had spent about 45 minutes diagnosing and looking over what we needed.  My husband replied, Well, now we know why they were available so soon. I gave them 2 stars because of the receptionist, who was super friendly, and lots of communication surrounding my appointment (reminder call, emails, and text messages).  However, I'll go with someone else who isn't a rip-off.  Beware!  They may be available sooner than other electricians, but you'll pay for it.

The only reason this gets 1 star is because the receptionist is super friendly and sympathetic. Otherwise if I could give negative stars, I would: AVOID this company AT ALL COSTS. they repeatedly cancelled on my appointment three times (No one showed up, not even a phone call) without explanation, and on days I specifically took time off from work. Not the most reliable nor professional organization. I HIGHLY recommend looking else where and AVOID COMPLETELY. I was lucky to eventually find a really good electrician from some other area and not lose any more time, no thanks to Dear services. Whew.

3:30PM - I needed an outlet replaced in my home so I called DEAR.  They told me they can actually come by soon and will give me a call when they were on the way between 4 and 6.  As soon as I hung up I received a text confirming my appointment between 3 and 6.

6PM - Haven't not heard back, I called and asked the status.  Operator said she would check on it and they would have someone right by.

7PM - Haven't heard anything from them.  Called and asked to cancel.

7:35PM - They called me Sorry, we don't have anymore services for the rest of the night and have to cancel your appointment.  Can you hold so we can re-schedule?

We needed a plumber to our house same day because a toilet had a deep clog and as a result sewage was coming up the bath tub drain!  So it was a real S.O.S problem!!  Gross!  After calling different plumbing companies, Dear Services was the only company we could find who could send a plumber out same day, which is what we needed!  Anthony and Jordan were who came to the rescue.  They were professional, listened well, asked questions to understand the potential problem, Anthony communicated the options clearly and was up front with the cost options, giving me two price options to choose from and explained well the difference in options. Once I chose the option I wanted to fix the problem, their work was precise, fast, professional and they solved the problem and were able to tell me exactly what was causing the clog and why it happened and how to try to keep it from happening again.  Problem was fixed in a timely manner and they left no mess either.  I would call them again!  Very nice and friendly guys, too.

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!! They LACK integrity and have NO REGARD to your time or communicating with you!!!
I had made an appointment and was given a window of 12pm to 4pm on a Monday, which was confirmed by an email and text.  I was told the technician would call 30 minutes prior to arrival.
However, when 3:35pm rolled around that day and I had not heard anything I called and was told by dispatch that someone would call me back.  A hour later, nothing, so I called back and was told the same thing...someone would call me back with an updated ETA.  A hour later, same scenario.  Fast forward to 8:30pm and 6 or 7 calls to dispatch and the same scripted responses-I was furious!!!  Not one technician OR the company/dispatch had the decency to ever get back to me.  The only communicating was ME CALLING TO ASK FOR AN UPDATE HOUR AFTER HOUR!!!
I finally got Kimberly who promised she'd call me back herself....which she did only to tell me I'd have to reschedule!  Seriously.  I thought of telling the company to go shove it, but wanted to see if they'd do right by me the next time.
Well, the technician showed up on time, BUT the company wanted to charge me $750.00 just to install a simple bathroom exhaust fan THAT I ALREADY PURCHASED!!!!  ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!?!
I told the technician NOT ONLY NO, BUT HECK NO to the quote!!! I would find another company that was more ethical.  Then he proceeded to remind me that the consulting fee of $69.00 would have to be paid.
I had to bite my tongue and laughed instead.  Told the guy that Dear Electric OWES ME $75.00 FOR THE INCONVENIENCE AND STRESS they put me through on day one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had an electric project that we hired Dear for. I was unable to stay all day so the technician asked me to sign the papers and he would finish the work. Needless to say, he didn't. They didn't even let us know the work wasn't completed. When we called to ask when they were coming back out they had us schedule a new appointment. They were a no show. Scheduled another appointment. No show. This went on 2 more times. We asked to speak to the manager or owner and were told they don't have the information to contact this person. My husband ended up having to use 2 wasted vacation days before finally getting this resolved. Use at your own risk.  They don't care about their customers.

Bait and switch, quoted $69 and then the electrician arrived and quoted $550 for troubleshooting and fixing the dishwasher. He said $69 is only for making a visit. I didn't know what to do as the dishwasher costs typically ~$700 but as I was going on vacation, I said yes. After another 15-20 minutes, he went to his truck and then called me after 30 minutes (he was sitting in his truck during this time) and said that he spent time figuring out but as he is electrician and not an appliance repair person, he doesn't know how to fix it! This was ridiculous.

The good thing is that I recorded everything on my security camera which shows that he hardly spent any time repairing it and was sitting outside in the truck. I have disputed the charges with my credit card company.

Also, I called another service the next day and they troubleshoot my dishwasher for only $148.50.

These guys are scam artists, please don't use them.

I called this company a week in advance for appointment for Friday March 19, 2021 between 1-5pm. I received confirmation email and text. That morning I sent pictures of toilet piece that needed repair to dispatch. She assured me the technician would get them. At 5pm waiting all day, no call no show I called and they apologized and confirmed a specific technician would be right over in 30-45 minutes. 2.5 hours later, another no call no show I called they had no answer why no one was here. Since the late time, I was willing to rebook for the next day, Saturday. Jessica informed me there would now be a weekend charge of $299.00. I informed her that she should talk to her manager to get that waived due to the total lack of service on the Friday. I went ahead and booked the Saturday between 8-11. It is now 11am on Saturday 3-20-21 and this company once again has done a no call no show. After my experience, you decide if you want to work with this company, I sure don't.

The work was fine and employees nice but we feel stiffed.  It cost $868. to put in three porch lights that were already connected to electrical.  I think it took him about an hour, maybe an hour and a half.  They apparently did tell our nanny ahead of time that they bill on a per task item versus time and labor.  I guess it may pay off if you have a big job, but was a rip off for us.

I will get into ALL the details later but suffice to say NO do not hire them! Not if you want your job completed in a timely manner & with the proper tools. It's been this way since OCTOBER. And they've just delayed us by a month by installing the incorrect lugs end of February and then installing the corrected ones early March only to not provide the documentation requested at the first install point by PSE until TODAY. No way! The communication And scheduling of this company lacks substance and delivery. If we hadn't already done a credit account with them and paid in full through that we'd be quitting them as it is I'm filing with the BBB and everywhere else I can. This is just the electrical side - the plumbing side They showed up late to their one scheduler with a handtool (they'd admitted they just purchased at A hardware store in the way over!!!!) instead of a powered snake and then Tried to upsell us to getting new pipes installed (over 2k!!!) I bought a snake off amazon and have it done myself the next day. Totally untrustworthy on all account

I called Deer Services when we had an electrical failure affecting 3-rooms that was not a circuit breaker trip. They got me scheduled for the next day between 12:00 and 3:00. The next day, tech Lukas called at 1:00pm to say he was 20-minutes out. He arrived on time. He discovered the problem quickly - a short in an outlet - and replaced/repaired it from inventory on his truck. Now, I considered the cost to be a little high, but it wasn't any higher than other providers. I liked the responsiveness, the quick service, the professional Care and their honest and forthright demeanor. I highly recommend Deer Services and will use them again.

I am extremely disappointed to have to write this review. I cannot stress enough that I do not recommend Dear Services and will never use them again for any of their services. I had used Dear Services for many years and was very happy with them. On April 3rd Dear Services did a sewer scope for me. The technician did not give me a copy of the scope, stating that it was company policy not to do so. He said I had a root infestation that would require extensive pipe repairs, but said that he needed to review the images with his manager before he could get me an estimate on what exact repairs they would recommend. I never heard from him again. I contacted Dear Servies multiple times and was told the technician or a manager would get back to me. They did not. Eventually I insisted that a new scope be performed. That was scheduled, and the technician did not show up. I rescheduled the scope, and the technician arrived, only to inform me that the camera on his scope was broken and he could not perform the scope. I was told I would be contacted once the scope was repaired. That was July 14th, and I was never contacted. I had a different company perform a scope last week, and discovered that Dear Services had charged me 5 times the usual cost of a scope. I asked Dear Services several times to refund me for the scope on April 3rd and to cover the cost of the other scope, and was again ignored. I am appalled by the way I have been treated by a company I have used for years. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and will be taking them to small claims court if they continue to ignore me.

I forgot where I found them exactly but I put my project in and few contractor contacted me. They were one of the first few to respond within 24 hr follow by a phone call the next day. The guy in the phone was kind and gave me a rough estimate , which the other two company didn't. I had a slightly difficult light to hang. One backed out and the other one won't give me an estimate range till I book an appointment. I had recessed light and I need to install chandelier from west elm but it is not centers. Not only did they have put the light on they had to convert and move the entire light to the middle. They came the next day and was really nice . Arrived on time and helped me move things around and was really patient with me . I am a bit picky with the position of the light. They gave me the actual estimate on the spot and had all their equipment. No hidden cost or anything. From start to finish took less than one and half hour. They also helped us cleaned up and gave us a refer for the dry wall guy. I am using them again to install ring flood light in march :) !

Called them once to replace an electrical outlet under my sink for my garbage disposal unit. They sent a PLUMBER out and he tested the garbage disposal unit that I just installed by running the cord to it on an extension cord and amazingly IT WORKED!! Thing is that wasn't the problem!! I told them I needed an ELECTRICIAN to replace the damned outlet that it runs off of! After getting the runaround the PLUMBER called the Dear Services offices and set up an appointment with an electrician, and it was for the next day.

1 YEAR LATER I am still waiting for the next day as I never heard from this joke of a company yet. Posting this now because I need an electrician again and want to warn people to avoid this joke of a company unless they like waiting for forever to get their service done. Call it a Dear John Services letter, if you will excuse the pun.

Went through Custom Electrical Services and not only did they charge me the quoted price but they don't charge for someone to just show up. Work was done in less than :30 (He even called to ask if he could show up earlier than the quoted time window!) and was done well with no hassle and by a very professional company even down to the lady who books their appointments (She didn't try sending a plumber when I asked for an electrician either! And unlike Dear Services appointment setter I was only on the phone with her for 5 Minutes, no waiting on hold like Dear and she LISTENED to what needed to be done and QUOTED THE ACTUAL PRICE OVER THE PHONE! It came out to EXACTLY the price quoted and I didn't have to wait DAYS between the call and for the electrician, who was very professional and personable, to show up!) So if you run into a problem with something electrical I HIGHLY suggest going through CES. They do wonderful work and get it done in the timeframe and for the price they say they will..They make writing this Dear, John, Services letter easy..It's not us Dear, it's YOU..Buh, Bye...

DEAR Services are fraud. I had my water line replaced by them. I contacted multiple plumbing services and chose them because the plubmer Raven specifically said that the pipe and their work has lifetime warranty. I wrote a check for Thirteen Thousand dollars after all the discounts on the same day they came in for initial inspection. On the day of actual work, I asked for the warranty that I did not see in any of the documents he had given me until then. He failed to provide a warranty that said the pipe and job was covered with lifetime warranty. I had even asked, if the water line leaked in future, do I need to pay anything and he said straight No. I won't have to pay anything. Alas, I was a fool to believe his swee talk an pay them immediately. I did not get a written warranty and I argued for almost 2 hours after the job was finished, but all I got was a generic warranty document that did not say anything about the pipe or the job. Avoid them at all cost. I turned down other plubmers who were offering to do the same job for Eight Thousand dollars with 25 years warranty on the pipe and 5 years warranty for the job. I was fool to think I would need warranty more than 25 years.

Had a pretty great experience with DEAR Services for a major electric water heater install (required x4 40 watt double breakers; massive amount of power!) . There were a lot of delays with service initially due to them being short staffed but eventually the schedule was cleared up and the tank was installed with electrician and plumber on sight. Unfortunately install ran into the same week I was having my mother in town but the technicians worked diligently and quickly to get everything wrapped up fast. Had some pipe leaking issues afterwards due to water pressure being obscenely high at the house and one of their best plumbers came on site to inspect (Mehran Bagheri) and fix the issue. Mehran took his time and properly installed all the necessary piping fixes as well as addressed the pressure issue at the home for a reasonable price including warranty. It has been a couple weeks now and I am glad I came across this company to take care of this major install and will be calling on their services again as well move onto other projects in the house.

My husband and I simply need to have our duct work put back together (after a remodel) and our furnace serviced in preparation for our house to be rented at the end of July. We called Dear Electric, Inc. to have a technician come out to give us an estimate. The first technician called, and once he realized that we did not need a new installation, he brushed us off. We chased down a second technician to come out and take a look at our system to give us an estimate, which he did.
Now, I am going on five phone calls over two days for the company to give/send us the estimated quote and make an appointment. So far, I have been brushed off, and no one has called me back. This is extremely irritating, as we have now wasted a week in which we could have called other companies.
I guess that Dear Electric Inc. only takes the customer seriously if he or she wants a new system. This is a shame, as we intend to do that in the future. We will not be calling this company.

I recommend against using DEAR Services. Their representative assured me of a rebate from my power company in the amount of $1000, when in reality they have no contract at all with my power company! He actually sold me an upgraded model in order to qualify for this rebate. Anyone can hire a bad representative, but DEAR Services failed to respond to any of my numerous requests To resolve this issue. All told The deceptions of DEAR Services cost me in the neighborhood of $2500! There are many companies out there who will not only provide good product and service but also to deal with you in an honorable way. Steer clear of DEAR Services!

Expensive and unable to fix my issue.

I had 3 outlets that were not working. A guy came out at their flat-fee rate and in total spent about 30 min at my home. He appeared surprised that it wasn't just a breaker that needed to be flipped but something was actually going on. Why would I call an electrician if I had not thoroughly inspected the issue myself! I may be female but I am an engineer myself as well.
He made me sign a contract totaling more than five hundred dollars - which I believed was the contract to fix the issue, a lot of money but I needed the things fixed and had already spent enough time on troubleshooting it myself. The guy then spent a few more minutes and gave me an estimate of five hundred dollars to complete the repair, consisting of connecting a the wires of a working outlet to a non working outlet. Totally baffled and unwilling to pay even more, I told him I needed to think about it. He left, did not clean up after himself, didn't call, nor did his company follow up.

I called another firm who did a proper assessment, and came back another day to fix the issue (took more than 2 hrs), all 3 outlets are now working. For less than the show-up fee of Dear.

The electrician did a good job but when I set up the appointment, I mentioned the $50 online coupon from the website. Office said they would honor the coupon and the electrician doing the work said the $50 discount would be honored. I was in the process of moving and when I noticed that the $50 discount was not listed I called the office and requested a refund. After about 4 phone calls I was told they would give me a credit on another job, I explained I was moving into a new condo and would not need their services but wanted my $50 back. Debbie said she would speak to the owner about a refund, of course never heard from them again.

If I could write a negative star, I would. Ultimately between 2 days I wasted  more than 10 hours waiting for them to show. I had one rescheduled appointment (they called one day before the appointment to tell me they weren't coming) and two no shows from this company. The first no show, I called 4 different times and ended up having to wait 6 hours in order to hear they were cancelling (which is two hours past their 4 hour service window.) The second no show, I called 3 times, and heard at the end of the 4 hour window that they were going to have to cancel. They offered me $50  towards service and a waved consultation fee (which is $69) and that was it. This has got to be the worst service I have ever received and I work in the construction and real estate industry.

Showed up late, it's been over a week and I still haven't received the estimate. Called to inquire on the estimate and was hung up on, called back, and I'm still waiting on the estimate after 3 days after the followup call.

This company has to have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would give it negative star if it was possible. They cancelled on me on 2 different occasions and never called back to reschedule or follow up even though I reached out to them 3 times! I can't believe I'm even wasting my time writing a review for this terrible company. Don't be their customer, go somewhere else where you at least get a call back and not this BS dispatch playing the middle man between customer and management.

A week ago we woke up with no heat and power in a few areas of the house. We weren't sure it was the heater itself or an electrical problem. Called a few places, Dear was the only one that was willing to get someone out within 2 hours after I called, which was important to me because I have an 82-year-old mother. The tech arrived within 1 1/2 hours, we reviewed the events that led to us not having heat. He did his inspections and felt it was an electrical issue, so they had someone else come out to fix the problem. Dear always kept me informed of who was coming to the house along with a pic of the person. After further inspection, it came down to it was the heater that was the problem. T the fan was freezing up and locking up power causing the breaker to blow, which affected the other areas of power. After further discussion, we decided to install a new heat pump system. Because it was Friday it was going to take a few days before they could start the project, they brought us space heaters to use in the meantime. This was going to be an expensive project and one of the things I did appreciate about DEAR is that they had 3 financing plans to offer, we chose 12 months deferred no interest. The next morning we did get another quote from somebody that was recommended to us by our Handyman. And I will tell you they were about $4000.00 cheaper. I discussed this with the David and he was able to shave off some to be a bit more competitive so we did decide to go with them because of 3 reasons, 1) their customer service is excellent, 2) the equipment is a few notches better, and 3) the financing. We had a few delays in getting the project started, they did not get all the equipment delivered and they were working hard to get it resolved and the approval from our HOA took longer than expected. A week later the project finally (2-2-18) starts. They arrived promptly and got started right away. It was an all-day project, but now we have heat!!! I am completely impressed with their employees they are courteous and professional. The guys that they sent out to do the install were respectful, friendly and professional. Thank you to David, Nick, JW, and Sean, we love our new heating system, it is so quiet.

This group is the most irresponsibile I have ever worked with.  I sat around the house four days in a row with a leaking kitchen sink and they said they couldn't show on Friday 24 after I had already waited their 4 hour time frame, so they scheduled for Saturday and once again didn't show with no call from the service person.  After I called when 4pm came, the rescheduled for Sunday May 26th gave me a 4 hour space again and didn't call nor show.   I contacted them again and they rescheduled for Monday Memorial day, May 27 and said I was first on the list and that day.  Well they did not show again, nor would they call me or answer their phone or respond to a text.  Do not use this group, you'll be very angry before it's all over.

I'm very disappointed with this company and do NOT recommend them.
A couple of months ago I called Dear Services to diagnose our electrical system to make sure that everything works. I was told that they fixed all the problems and everything is working fine so I took their word for it.
After our renovation was completed, we realized that a couple of outlets still didn't work. We called back several times to make an appointment but they never came back.  The manager told me that because it happened two months ago they're no longer responsible for the quality of they're job, because it's possible that somebody has damaged out outlets and he would charge me $250 an hour. They're not interested in fixing their mistakes because they would have to do it for free.
Their receptionist (Courtney) was very rude and unprofessional on the phone with me and made it impossible to deal with her. My partner asked her to speak with the manager several times to see if he can sole this problem but she refused to let him talk to the manager. She even tried to trick him by calling back and pretending as she was the manager. I immediately recognized her voice and new that it was a deceiving attempt which jeopardized integrity of this company.
After several attempts, we finally managed to speak with a customer service manager and was able to make an appointment. We drove for 4 hours (because we live out of town) to meet with the electrician but he never showed up. We called several times again and was told that somebody would call us back but nobody ever did.

I needed someone to come out to diagnose the issue with my furnace. Walid Bazara was my technician who took a look. He thought he knew the problem and I told him before performing any work, to let me know the issue so we can call my warranty company for them to authorize the work. To make a long story short, the price was way too high and the work wasn't authorized due to him not being able to provide them with a breakdown of the costs. such as cost for each repair & labor cost. After he left, i found that he had cut wires, took things apart and didn't put things back in order before leaving. He shouldn't have cut the wires as he wasn't authorized to perform any work. It took a few days before he came back out to put things back in order. Although, just to find that even though he fixed the wires, there was a piece on the igniter that was broken, which happened when he cut the wires. I mentioned to him before he left my home that the pilot was lighting before he touched my furnace, now it doesn't light due the piece being broke. Now I've had to have someone else try to repair it with having to wait several more days for the part to come in. Having Dear Services come to my home has been a disaster for me and my family. Since all the mishap, I've been out of heat for almost two weeks now.
I feel like Walid was trying to be more of a salesman then a repair man. Hiking up the price and trying to get me to replace parts that weren't the problem. He caused more issues with damaging parts that had nothing to do with the problem.
Having them come out was a waste of time and money. I will never use their services again nor recommend anyone to them. Looking at their ratings on google are very misleading. I am very disappointed in their service.

I'd also like to mention that they was supposed to send someone out the day before, no one showed so the person who reached out to me told me i would have a $50 credit on my account. I had to still end up paying the total fee they charge to send someone out as nothing was noted on my account. With all the frustration of everything that took place, they can have the $50. It's not worth my time and efforts of trying to get it back.

We bought an old house in Maple Leaf neighborhood, not far from Dear Electric. We wanted to do some renovation of the house. David came out and gave me a fair estimate of all the electrical projects. They showed up on time to do the work even over the weekend. They were professional, capable and quick. I'm impressed by their responsiveness and especially the honesty of David. They actually charged exactly what they estimated. Overall I am very pleased with the work.

I highly recommend them and sure I will be using them again in the future.

I ordered new garage door opener from Home Depot  to replace broken one and we ordered installation service. The technician came on time to take down the broken opener and installed new one  without any trouble. The outdoor opener keypad was programmed by the technician. The broken one was took away for disposal as part of the service. So far it works flawlessly. My garage door is more than 7 feet high so I bought the extension kit and it was required for garage doors higher than 7 feet. Pretty happy with the entire process. The only nit pick is there were a few dry debris on the garage floor I cleaned up with a broom after the installation was done.

Do yourself a favor and find another plumbing service now before it's too late.  Don't waste your time with Dear Service.  We were scheduled to have a pro here on a Thursday afternoon.  He didn't show up and when I called I was told a guy would be here Friday.  On Friday I learned that he had not come in to work, so it would be Monday. (My bad, I should have gone somewhere else then). At 5pm on Monday I called to say no one had called or showed up.  I was told they would schedule someone to come on Tuesday and would text me Monday night about a scheduled time.  NO TEXT on Monday night (I was a little suspicious by now). I called Dear Services this morning to get the time window and was told there was no one available today, so they would be glad to schedule for Wednesday.  To avoid a useless and embarrassing rant on the phone, I thanked them and hung up.  It's of course possible the plumbers they employ are all brilliant and creative professionals but I'll never know because of the monumentally incompetent and unprofessional scheduling staff they employ.

I was stood up two days in a row. I phoned the company and the helpful person taking my call ( I am assuming an answering service) told me they had openings in their schedule for the day. I gave all my tenants info for them to contact tenant directly. after 24 hours I called in again and it appeared the ball got dropped. Apparently I didn't learn a lesson as I was told for a second day in a row they had available time to address my electrical matter and for the second day in a row I was stood up. I have moved on

Let me just put it this way, they think their time is much more valuable than their customers.  We had an appointment to have a tune-up on our heating system from 9am to 12:00 noon.  A text they had sent me the day before confirmed the time and said it to call if the tech is not there by the scheduled time.  What a joke!  The response was they would get here when they could.  No time frame, nothing, just some time this afternoon.  Unfortunately their customer service and attitude towards their customer is non-existent.  So bottom line is if you have a job and take off for this take the entire day off because they don't care about your appointment time or be willing to compensate you in any way. Oh, and I asked for a discount and for the service manager to phone me back.  LOL.  The same girl that answered the phone called 1 minute later to my husbands cell phone.  Didn't even have the courtesy to call me back.  My advice, don't bother with their special price of $99 and just go someplace else for good service!

I would give them zero stars if that was possible. Way over priced! We paid over $800 to have them replace our garbage disposal. Home Depot sells the exact same brand and model for $110. The installer spent all of twenty min. on the install.  We spent more time cleaning up after them then he took on the job. The installers didn't put shoe protectors on their shoes, did not put a mat or any kind of protection when he put his tools on the wood floor, he cut the PVC pipe and left the shavings under the sink and left residue on the counter where he rolled out the plumbing tape. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. We should have shopped around for a better quote but we're sucked in by their low initial inspection call to figure out our leak. Don't be fooled they will charge way to much for a simple job.

I feel like I have been scammed. I am so disappointed with this company. I initially had a clogged bathroom toilet. Dear Services came out and completed my job, and I joinetheir membership for $499.00 plus tax. I make an appointment to have my free home inspection, part of my membership, clear my schedule and wait, for the technician...no show. Call back, no apologies, probably just a misunderstanding is what I am told. I never even received a follow up phone call from management. I now have a burst pipe, no water to my home. Today is Wednesday, no one can come out until next Tuesday. The dispatch personnel have no technical support to offer me, I've been waiting 3 hours now for a phone call back for support from their technician. Or for a fee of $220 they would make an emergency visit is what I am told. I am so frustrated and disappointed. I do not trust this company whatsoever. I literally threw my money down the toilet. Always go by a referral...and pray that whatever company you choose has integrity.

DO NOT USE THEM. I used their services to identify an issue where one of the circuit breaker switch wouldn't stay on. As a result, the living room didn't have electricity coming in. The electrician, Lucas came in and said it's $69 just to show up. He said, you owe me $69 now and if I'd like for him to diagnose the issue, he asked for an additional $450. This is such a  scam. I never worked with such a dishonest company before. If I knew about these hidden charges, I never would've called them up or used their service. There is an overall lack of transparency here. I called their main number again to file a complaint, i was told that the customer manager, Jesiree will get back to me. It was over 10 days, but i never got a call. I called them again, and it was the same, Jesiree will give me a call, but this time is no different. I was charged $533.50 to my credit card and no invoice was provided. Do not use with this company. There are several reputable businesses out there, DO NOT use Dear Electric.

I honestly would give negative stars if I could. Working with this company has been nothing but problems. We received info on this company at a home show. So we set up a appointment and decided to do a new furnace and a free standing system. To the sum of over 16K dollars. Just to get to the basics. They had several techs out to the house. No one knew what they were doing. It took a week longer than anticipated to finish the job  due to lack of parts they said. They placed one of the units right over a pocket door that they were made aware of upon arrival and had to relocate it. Which left huge holes in the wall that they never completely fixed. The pump system flooded the furnace room. They rescheduled several times in regard to the repairs. They left parts all over outside. A supervisor come on site one day accusing one of the employees of drinking on the job. They broke a clock that took month to get returned. Now one of their wall systems is leaking. Please Please do not use this company.

I called Dear for some electrical work in my kitchen ... i was moving the location of my microwave & needed a new electrical outlet.  My call was answered immediately and they scheduled an electrician to come out within a few days ...wow!  The 2 guys were awesome!  on time, professional, very knowledgeable while being personable.  My charges were very reasonable.  Very happy camper!

Dear Electric representatives were punctual and professional. They took the time to go over what they will be doing, why and what the challenges are. They also took care of my concerns immediately and were accountable for the minor damage they caused. Will be using them again for our electrical needs.

This review is for Dear Services Electrical service.  The first time I used Dear Services was to restore power on a weekend, 'emergency' call.  They were able to get someone out to fix my issue right away on a Saturday (the tech even arrived earlier than the assigned window).  The electrician, Pete, was able to solve the problem right away.  I was so impressed that I asked him to write up an estimate for some smaller electrical problems.  As it turns out, Pete was the same electrician who was assigned to my 'non-urgent' appointment.  He is fantastic; he worked continuously and took the time to explain what he was doing every step of the way.  Everything was fixed to my satisfaction; no 'add-ons' were pushed and the wiring looked great!  I think the pricing is reasonable.  Granted, there is a fee just for emergency services ($249 at this time I used them), but that is a fairly standard practice and they were completely upfront about the charges.  Overall, I've happy with their service and I would use them again without hesitation.
