Hi, I'm Matt. I have worked in the HVAC field for almost twelve years now. I had always dreamed of opening my own business. I studied and worked hard until I felt experienced enough to take care of my customers. I am thankful to have amazing support from my wife, family and friends. My twin brother and I are partnered up here with one goal in mind - to offer top notch customer service by treating our clients like family. We've been looking to install A/C for three years, and had several companies give us their estimates. Then we heard of Allred Heating and Cooling. Estelle Walker was our sales rep. She is the most professional, knowledgeable and attentive listener. She was very detailed and clear in explaining different types/options of the A/C systems, paid attention to our needs and without pressuring us helped us chose the best option for our home.

All Allred employees, I was in contact with, were professional and helpful, each step of the way. They worked with us to accommodate our schedule, promptly provided copies of all licenses and permits; and dealt with final inspection.

Cassidy Willborg and Brendon were technicians installing the system at our house. They were professional, respectful, knowledgeable and hard working. They were mindful of our property and protected it from damage. The placement of the unit was in the attic, which made the installation trickier. They discussed with us what needed to be done, what our expectations were and made sure that the install was perfect, and our expectations met.
Once the install was completed, they cleaned up the attic, stairs, floors... They left the work area spotless. Cassidy explained how the system works and showed us how to use the thermostat.

Two electricians, one of them was Joshua Timmerman, came to hook up A/C system to our panel. They were also very polite and professional. They explained everything to us, did a great job, and left the area clean.

We are excited to enjoy cool temperatures in our house this summer.

Worse timing for our furnace to go out, it is 22 degrees outside and 30 inside the house! And with the horrible weather and road conditions, no companies are willing to send anyone out to our place today. Fortunately, we submitted a service request and a technician Jesse called us to help us out. He went step by step on how to diagnose and to correct the problem and got our furnace working again! Very knowledgeable and we would 100% use their service again. Thanks again Jesse

We've used Allred twice in the past with great results. However, today we woke up to a non functioning furnace. We called Allred and they said they'd call back shortly with a timeframe of when they'd be out. Several hours later we call again, with no update. I called again a few hours after that, finally get a hold of the only person in the dispatch department and she tells me the earliest they can send someone out is tomorrow, after hours. They also had a wrong address despite confirming with them the new one.

It's awfully misleading to say they'll call back with a time when it's not even going to be same day.  Probably let people know that so they can call other businesses so they can get the problem fixed, especially with an infant in the home.

We had mountain highway heating and cooling to our house to fix a duct that wasn't blowing.  They came out 5 times, charged for each visit but each and every time they said nothing was wrong when clearly there was.  Called Allred once and they came out.  Identified the problem and had a plan to fix it within 15 minutes.  Allred is the most competent HVAC company around.

Had a Tune Up service from Allred (1020 S 344th St #205 Federal Way, WA 98003) in 4/2020. Since then, our fireplaces have had problem 3 times. My gut feeling was to try a different company when our fireplace stopped working again. Glad I did.

I also stood near by to watch while the technician was servicing my fireplace this time. Turned out, the Thermopile assembly was very rusty. The TPTH screw was very loose, had to be tighten (3 full turns).

Needless to say, the Tune-up by Allred was questionable, only god knows how much their guy really serviced our fireplaces.

On a side note, Allred charges $743 to replace a gas valve, two other well reviewed companies charge $300~$500.

New Year's Day, 2022, our 30 year old gas furnace died.  It was about 20 degrees outside, so the house got pretty cold pretty quickly.  Not only did Allred provide us with a reasonable price for a new heat pump and gas furnace combo, they had the equipment in stock, and had heat going in the house within 3 days.
Amazon was able to get us a few space heaters to keep us going while we waited, and in every way, Allred exceeded our expectations.  In the year since they installed our new Trane system, we've enjoyed quiet heat, quiet and effective cooling last summer, and an overall lower utility bill to boot.  Standing next to our compressor outside, I can't hear it running over the neighbor's heat pump - I wouldn't even know ours was running except it's blowing air over the coils.

I'd highly recommend Allred - absolutely amazing service.

I installed HVAC through Allred this Jul 2022 via Lowe's. I spent 16000$ for the entire system. I am upset with going with Allred. First 1) the installation was not perfect, the job doesn't look like a professional. The parts were arranged irregular, the wiring was not done properly. Drilled holes in the wall in unwanted places to look ugly. 2) Sep first week my AC stopped working, the sent an electrical person said everything is fine it's must be a heating issue. Next day another person come they couldn't figure anything out. The day after another person came and finally found that transformer inside the furnace was burnt. They replaced for free due to warranty. 3) now in October again the Heater stopped working, I called the service center they said the service supervisor left for the day at 3 pm and the only appointment is tomorrow (10/20) I am waiting for them to find the problem.

Overall I am unhappy with the service and installation. I would recommend consider some other HVAC providers who do a better job. In my case I am going to ask them to pay my entire money back and put back my old unit. I don't want to get into trouble every month with the faulty device installed in my house

Didn't provide accurate detail on what is wrong with the heater even after paying for evaluation. Just got generic detail saying compliments needs to replaced or rebuilt. Was expecting a more accurate response after paying $165 for evaluation. Not super happy. if they were just recommend replacing the heater why do they need to do evaluation n charge me 165. Felt cheated.

Chris C. came to my house today to service both my furnace and my gas fireplace. Having both appliances serviced in the same visit was a huge plus as I don't live in that house and I didn't have to make extra trips for different appointments. He arrived as scheduled and called prior to give me a heads up as to his arrival time. He explained the process of servicing both appliances and gave me the opportunity to ask questions, making sure I understood. Chris was polite and very easy to talk to, I especially enjoyed that we both shared a love of the same football team.  I would highly recommend Chris and Allred Heating Cooling and Electric, this was not the first time I've used this company and should I have the need I will definitely be using them again, thank you Chris.

My elderly dad had a new heat pump installed last fall.   The Allred team has been amazingly supportive thru the quote, install, and service process.   The technicians who have visited his home have been patient, thoughtful and kind during moments where he was struggling to understand new things, and took time to follow up with me to keep me aware and informed.   So grateful to the team and thankful we chose Allred!

As I write this, the Allred team is finishing up the installation of my new central AC system.  I invited them back after they did a stellar job spec'ing and installing my new gas furnace.  Jake and the Allred Team are fast, efficient, knowledgeable and thorough, more than meeting my expectations--and at a cost that seems quite reasonable.

Don't fall for their tune up scam, it's just a waste of $200.  All they did was take pictures of my HVAC system and send them back to me in an email report that somehow justified $200 worth of labor and technical expertise.

Michael, the business manager calls me and instead of apologizing for this experience, he started yelling at me and harassing me. Calling me all sorts of names. Wowwwww!!

I'm surprised that this business has more than 1-star rating. I requested an estimate for AC installation. Christian visited the property, took pictures and measurements in more detail than any other company/estimator. I told him this and he said that 'This would build the most accurate quote since they don't like deviation in the numbers they provide'. He plugged in everything in his tablet and gave me an estimate of ~7k for 2ton sideflow unit. I asked him to email me the copy of estimate, which he said he'll do on his way back to office. He never emailed it to me.
1 week later (today), I contacted him to confirm about the project. Now, he says that they have switched to a different quote software and can't find my estimate in the system. The new estimate he built is significantly higher than the original one. To partially compensate for that he added a discount, which would be applicable ONLY TODAY.
Typical bait and switch!

Blatant lie. He also sent me picture of the unit for the price we agreed on- ~7k. Attached picture he sent me.
The lowest bid you supposedly beat was with 2.5 ton unit. The unit you were offering me is 2 ton. Even you may have started with as a smaller company right? Or did you start off the foot with 600 google reviews?

Yesterday, Eric with Allred came out to service my HVAC. First thing that really impressed me was, he was able to reprogram my control unit easily. We upgraded the system about 3.5 yrs ago. When the tech originally set it up, they left it in manual mode. So, when it was cold or hot, we would have to change the heat or AC accordingly. Now, after Eric made the changes, it will go from hot to cold automatically. Thanks Eric, I hope I'm spelling your name correctly. There were many additional areas in which I found to be impressive, but, I do t want to make this into a book. He was friendly and knowledgeable, the company itself has been good as well. Couldn't be happier with their service.  We have bought a new furnace and heat pump with them (not at the same time) - and we keep coming back. Both times they got us out of a pinch!!!  Great customer service, response time and pricing!  Would highly recommend - Chris our comfort specialist went above and beyond and Eric was great with the diagnosis to help us make the right decision to move forward.

I cannot say enough good things about these guys. We found them originally on Groupon to clean our ductwork. They did a great job and we have had the unfortunate reasons to call them twice since and they were so quick to respond and courteous and professional. One time was during COVID and a cold snap and they still were able to fit us in and get our furnace up and running.
Their prices are very reasonable and the emergency rates are not sky high like some other HVAC companies in the area.

Our thermostat stopped working, which was a good opportunity to change it out for a smart stat.  I called Allred Heating, and they were able to come out the next day.  Our technician, Eric Dumke was great.  He not only was very knowledgeable and thorough, but came across as a super honest person.  
A nice feeling dealing with HVAC contractors!
This is my second time with Allred, and will not be the last.

My whole experience with Allred has been an extreme nightmare, I wish I would have never went with this garage company. From the overpriced product, to the installation customer service, and billing Department, we were told it would only be a few months for the Ac to be installed to 6 months later and lots of bullshit phone calls trying to reschedule, had them do a partial install for the AC so it wouldn't take all day but the moment the AC came in that took all day and the inexperienced installers completely sucked they could not figure out why the heat wouldnt come on after installing AC and spent over two hours trying to figure out going into my crawlspace to find the wire thinking it was my perfectly fine thermostat and suggested that we replaced it with one of theirs which was way shittier and then it turned out it was never our thermostat and end up taking my nice good one and then two weeks after AC was put in we lose heat completely we try to call and get a technician to come out that night and were told it was going to be a two hour wait then all of a sudden decided that they're just gonna make us appointment first thing in the morning so we had to go without heat for 24 hours, there is nothing good about this company, all it's done is give me a complete migraine. Would not recommend this company to anybody between the inexperienced installers and the unknowledgeable team they have, that don't know nothing and sound like they don't talk to each other.Can't even show up when they say they will. Giving a 1 star is to much for this company... Try negative 100 stars!!!!!

We had a problem with our furnace where it would suddenly just go off. It would work for months, weeks, etc., but then all of a sudden stop. This happened again this last weekend. We can usually get it started, but this time nothing we could do worked.
I called several companies to come out and Allred was the only one that could get to it fairly quickly. Eric, the technician came out and diagnosed the problem and got it fixed. We are warm again!
Eric was very friendly and competent and the charge for the service was not exorbitant. We will definitely use Allred in the future.

Thanks to Ben and helper Josh for finding a solution to get my hot water heater getting strapped. I needed to have this done as a requirement for a home appraisal.  They installed a 4 x 4 as a post and it is super secure!  The also serviced my very old furnace.  I know that I will have to replace it in the near future and Ben has given me some good options.  Very friendly and helpful.  Thank you!

Who wants their heat pump a/c to go out on the hottest day of the summer during a pandemic? Yeah, we didn't either.

But ERIC from Allred came out and did a detailed diagnostic (wore a mask, social distanced, no contact visa payment) and returned a few days later with the needed part to repair our system.  Eric was friendly, professional, respectful of all covid protocols, and answered all my questions. And our system is working great. We are happy customers.

We were in a hurry to sell our house in Federal Way and these guys came through, exceeding our expectations! They were able to do the installation quickly and for a good price! They offered good/better/best packages which help to make our decisions easier. The installation crew was courteous and efficient and best of all they kept the house clean and didn't drag whole bunch of filth through the house.
 I would definitely recommend if you're looking for furnace service, repairs or replacement!

So I spent an hour plus going through my house with Dave from Allred. Talking, asking questions, answering questions, pictures, stories - I mean you get it... deciding if the contractor knows what they are talking about and trustworthy and likeable (why do biz with ppl you just don't like unless it's dirt cheap transactional thing and maybe no interaction with a human, like getting gas at ARCO)...

And so after emotionally investing in this relationship I got back [queue drumroll] nuthin. That dood from the Sopranos got more from the bottle of Cuervo Silver (btw who drinks silver?? For like $1 more your gold like a track star in the Olympics) than I did from Allred heating and cooling.

The least you could do Allred is pour me a shot of second rate tequila. And don't say I didn't follow up cuz I did (even though I shouldn't have to) just let me know that hey we looked at the work you wanted and we're gonna pass. I felt so used. Now I'm just miffed. I had high hopes for us. But now I'm left with a milli-vanilli like lost dream.

As a relatively new homeowner I had run into a challenge with my furnace. I wasn't sure how best to coordinate the switches with the thermostat settings. Cameron was incredibly helpful and informative. He was also patient with my rudimentary knowledge of the furnace and gave me great instructions. Awesome quick and speedy service. We had the igniter replaced in our gas furnace. It was the dead of winter and no heat is an issue. They put us down on the list  and in 2 hours it was fixed. Kinda pricy for the work that was done but sadly this is the same everywhere.

We have used both the heating and electric services from this company over the years and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. We just moved to a new house and called Allred to clean and inspect our furnace. They were able to schedule us promptly and even accommodated our last minute work meeting. My husband was home for the service and said they were thorough and informative (as always) and I pulled up as they were finishing up to a friendly hello, and was asked if I had any questions before he left. I know this is a silly thing to appreciate, but do you know how often I get ignored or spoken to condescendingly as a woman by people who come and to do services for our house????  How refreshing it was to have them take the time when I got home to ask if I had any questions about the furnace or service before leaving.

This company is honest, fair and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them!

So happy with our service! Used a radio special we heard to have our air ducts cleaned, Brandon was our service tech and he was awesome. He was held up at a job before us but kept us informed (still came well within the window we were given). He was quick, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He showed us pictures of everything he did, I was so grossed out by all the gunk in our vents!! So happy we hired Allred. We also added on work that kept him late but he got everything done perfectly. Definitely now our go-to company!

Branden showed up on time during the timeframe I preferred with a facial covering on and proceeded to do the tuneup on my furnace that I requested. They honored the $99 Yelp first time customer price for the service as informed to me by Ken their manager. It took him about 35 minutes and explained to me the job that he did. As he was doing the service, my smoke alarm went off momentarily and we could smell something burning and that's when he mentioned he forgot to do something that related to the burner motor and thankfully my 2 year old furnace had a safety shut off to prevent the motor from burning out. Branden did explain to me what happened and after making sure there was no damage to the burner motor, continued with the tune up. He also assured me that he would leave a note mentioning about the motor burner and that if it gave out, Allred would fix it free of charge. It gave me peace of mind since I was concerned about this and the burning smell but knowing that he admitted what happened and made sure that if it fails they will cover it. Overall I was satisfied with the service and other than that glitch am thankful that the service went well.

Issue: heater was distributing smoke smell and temperature wasn't rising.

Service: Alan, a tech, came by and was friendly. He tuned up the electric heater, diagnosed that the thermostat may be old and in need of replacement.

Overall: good service, I just wish they had more staff so they could have come here sooner. -JL

Zac was coming for diagnosis on our furnace system, gave detailed check up on it and gave reasonable recommendation.  I worked with Cameron on design of new furnace system. It is great guy work with. Pay attention on detail and very patient to answer all of my questions. Great experience with AllRed. Will use them again in the future!

I was going to schedule an AC+furnace tune up with them, but unfortunately the Groupon that they have is only Valid only within 20 miles radius of 98003. If you live in Bellevue, don't even bother with that or else you will get charged for a total of $179 instead of $95. However, the receptionist was polite and it seems easy to schedule an appointment.

We had Bill H. with Allred come out today to service our furnace. Bill went above and beyond anything we could have expected. He was prompt, polite and extremely detailed in his work. He walked us through all the components, tips, tricks and things to watch for. He was in and out in under an hour. Furnace is purring like a dream. We will definitely be using them again for all there services offered. I highly recommend them to any and all in need.

Nest Thermostat stopped working. Eric helped check my breaker and it was off. Turned it on and everything worked. Was really nice of him to walk me through the trouble shooting to avoid a off hit hours home visit to just flip the switch and saved us a lot!

I love this company! They came out right away a couple of weeks ago when my gas water heater failed and did a fantastic job. Today, a Sunday, I woke up to a cold house and despite it being Sunday Zac came out and fixed the furnace. Wonderful techs, fast service and fair prices.

I didn't have a very good experience. I scheduled an appointment for a Check up on my furnace, and no one showed up. 2 hours after my appointment I messaged Matt and he was very sorry there had been a mix up. He offered me some money off a tune up package. Ok. Someone else did come the next day. In the first five minutes of his arrival he found a cracked heater exchanger. Our exchanger could very well be cracked, although I wasn't provided any pictures. The guy was more interested in getting a guy out there to give me a quote on a new furnace. So I spent $100 bucks for 5 minutes, didn't get proof of cracked heater exchanger and got charged for a tune up we never received. We are calling someone else out and won't be purchasing our furnace from Allred.

Very disappointed with their services. They tried to sell me NEW unit than help me fix the AC. They didn't test my AC but concluded that my AC's compressor was broken and I needed to replace the compressor for $2K or buy a New AC. The other company has saved me $$$ thousands of dollars by fixing it for $150. Allred won't stand behind their work and Becky the person on the phone is even worse. Always seek for 2nd opinion if they tell you to do anything.

We noticed some water dripping from our furnace recently and after opening the access panel, we knew we had a problem with the condensate pan. Allred sent out a technician to diagnose the problem. After a couple days, the technician came and confirmed our finding. He verified that our furnace was still under warranty and ordered the replacement part. We told him that our draft inducer motor was diagnosed a few weeks earlier - when we had a professional home inspection - to be very noisy. There was no need for a professional though, we could all clearly hear the whiny motor, even from upstairs. We paid for his visit, Allred set up a second appointment and a week later we had our condensate pan installed.

I watched the entire process, the two guys took a few minutes to unscrew the DRAFT INDUCER MOTOR, and a few more minutes to put it all back together with a shiny new condensate pen behind it. But there is a twist to the story. For whatever reason, the first technician did NOT order a replacement motor (no, he didn't forget). So I asked the second set of guys about the motor and they confirmed; yup it sure is noisy. Duh! So where do we go from here? I got a brand new quote to get a shiny new motor (FREE, under warranty) installed for $300+, essentially repeating the same exact steps of removing the motor and putting a new one back, but they would first have to get the part and come back and blah blah blah ...

So, how would YOU feel watching this unfold? I asked if they were serious and made a (very reasonable) counter offer which they declined. We parted amicably. A few days later, when I calmed down sufficiently, I called Matt at Allred and explained what happened. It took several more email exchanges but I am happy to report that Matt eventually made it happen and now we are happy, with our furnace quietly humming along downstairs. Thank you Matt!

Zac came to the house today to do an inspection and tuneup on my heat pump and furnace and I am so pleased with the service that I have been provided from Allred heating and cooling. Installed my Nest thermostat and cleaned/serviced my furnace. So happy with the service! I've had this unit for 15 years and honestly, it's never worked so good. Better air flow (which I didn't realize was a problem until Allred fixed it) and recommendations on how to ensure I keep my furnace running smoothly. We called for emergency Heating and Air conditioning service last Sunday 01-01-17.
Matt Allred personally answered the phone and completed the repair same day on time.
Allred is a rare find in the Heating, Air Conditioning And Electric Contractor world.

Back story: I bought my first house last March. It was a short sale and had been unoccupied for over 2 years. I knew moving in the furnace was from 1979 (older than me) and needed a tune-up. I found Allred because they had the best groupon. Well I'm pretty sure at the time it was Matt who came out and thoroughly inspected it, cleaned the filters, cleaned the burners, and checked everything. He was on time, courteous, answered all my questions, gave me his opinion on the furnace, a general quote for a new furnace which I wanted to know, and showed me all the components so I knew what was going on. I was very happy.

Fast forward to January 2014: woke up on the 6th at 4am because the smoke alarm went off. Couldn't find a fire but the house was only 60 and the furnace had shut down. I was freaked out. That night I checked it out, had two neighbors look at it, and then I called Allred. It was 10pm and Matt picked up the phone from home. I felt bad but he told me it was okay and walked me through everything to check. Turns out the limit switch broke. Went out the next day to buy one and installed it myself. Well the furnace started smelling like something burning but no smoke. So I called Matt again and he came out the next day to check it out. He looked at the wiring, the fan, the burners, all of it and couldn't figure out the burning smell. Furnace worked fine. Well, a month later it really died. It would try and try to work but nothing was doing what it needed to and finally it stopped all together. I knew it was time.

After the limit switch went out I called Allred, Costco, and a couple others for quotes on a new Furnace in case I needed to replace it. I even looked at a Groupon. After comparing reviews, rates, models, and brands, Allred led the pack. Wherever I looked they had stellar reviews. Maybe not as many as others but the ones they had were well written and not just a 5 star with they rock as the review. Their scores are real people. Well after it finally died I called Allred and ended up replacing my 70% efficient furnace from 1979 with a 95% Gold XI which included the 2nd gen. Nest thermostat. Their quote was $1500 less than Costco and $500 less than the groupon after a quote for the higher efficient model.

Guess who installed it? Matt of course. I called on a Friday. Since by now we had a couple space heaters I wanted it replaced soon but wasn't expecting it on the weekend. Matt told me Monday morning he would be there. 8:45 Matt was at my door ready to start. He worked on it almost all day and also had Dave come out (really funny and nice guy. He's cool). Together it took them 10 hours but as soon as they had it ready we turned it on. Worked like a charm!!! They were amazing!!! I've called Allred day, night, right after the Superbowl, and everytime they've picked up. I have had nothing but great service with honest answers, and fast results. They will be the company I use from now on and I DO recommend them.

Got up this morning, the day before thanksgiving and discovered that my heater had quit working. Allred had come out last year and did a service on my furnace as part of a Groupon deal. During that inspection and cleaning Matt, the owner noticed that the bearing on the main fan was making noise and would likely fail at some point... He went above and beyond to research the best cost on the part and whether it was under warrantee. I chose NOT to install at that time... my mistake.

Today, that fan is what went out and of course, it needs to get fixed. Called Beacon and Bob's, neither could get anyone out until sometime this afternoon but I made appointments to at least get in the schedule hoping it would be sooner rather than later AND they would be able to get any parts needed. I then realized I should be calling Allred - and was glad I did.

When I called I spoke to Tanya, who is VERY helpful and friendly. When she couldnt get anyone out here until maybe this evening I decided to stick with what I already had arranged... In the meantime, Tanya A: Looked up the part from my previous service. B: Called to confirm the part house had the part and C: Called Matt. She called to say Matt could insert me into his schedule immediately after the job he was working on and would pick up the part on his way. In 30 minutes or so he had it all together and working.

Don't waste your time on the big-boys. Allred demonstrates the highest level of customer service and care I have ever had with any Heating/Cooling company or contractor. They care about their customers and are very reasonable and fair in their pricing.

Took advantage of a Groupon deal for a tuneup. It was a little tough to schedule with them at first as I left 2 or 3 messages over a few weeks but they finally got back to me and set appointment for a couple days later. Alan the Tech was friendly and prompt. He told me I needed a run capacitor replaced at a cost of $119. After he left I did a little research and discovered that part costs less than $20. I understand there is labor and mark up involved but that seems a little steep to me. Other than that I was pleased with the service

I hired Allred to do an inspection and tune up on both my 16 year old heating and 14 year old a/c because they had way lower prices that both of the other bigger name HVAC contractors.  They found small, hairline cracks in my furnace heat exchangers and suggested I get it repaired.  The owner Matt said they could get the parts paid for under warrenty and the cost for labor only would 699.  Pretty competitive I think, but I will check around.  No pressure or scare stories about carbin monoxide.

After the servicing, my a/c unit stopped working right and naturally we were upset because temps were super high at the time.  The owner Matt reacted immediately and appropriately to get a technician out do diagnose and fix the problem.  Matt and the technician David went the extra mile to make sure I understood what happened and why and fixed everything at their own expense.  I recommend this company to other people who want good pricing, great service. This is a business that is interested in earning repeat customers through good service and low prices.  I find that a lot of the companies with big advertising budgets find ways to charge excessively and rip off people when they can get away with it.  I beleive you can put your trust in Allred!

I will use them again for my heating and cooling work in the future.

We've had Allred out twice and each time they sent knowledgeable and courteous technicians willing to answer all of our questions.  Office was prompt to set up our appointments and techs arrived on time.  Fixed the problem with our furnace as well as annual maintenance check.

We had an excellent experience with Allred. We called for a furnace repair and had someone at our house in under an hour. The parts were picked up and the repair was made the same day. The service was professional, quick, and reasonably priced. We will definitely use them again.

I wasn't happy with the previous service provider.  We had intermittent starting first thing in the morning.  The furnace would turn on, then stop before the set point was reached.  Then it would start and stop a number of times until the temp was reached.  After that it would usually be fine.  The tech said it was because we only had a 3-wire cable to control the thermostat, not a four wire, so it was necessary to create a wiring shunt for the furnace to work.  Ironic, since it was the same company that installed the furnace.  Why didn't they replace the wire at the install?  Or at least bring it up?

Fast forward a couple of years.  I pulled the thermostat to change the battery and lo and behold, four wires, all connected.  Fool me once ...

Looking on Groupon one August day, Allred appears and has good reviews.  So I bought a Groupon and had the tech out this week.  He did a remarkably thorough job and found the issue - pine needles in the exhaust blower assembly that were partially blocking a hose that connects to the pressure switch for the burner.  Problem gone.  We had a discussion how to prevent needles from getting into the exhaust stack in a simple way.  I'll take care of that the next time I'm on the roof (too wet/slippery now).  The tech was very polite and highly organized as well.  He gave no impression of having to hurry on to the next job, either.  

My main measure for professionalism in any vocation is the absence of wasted motion, and that was very much the case with this young technician.

We used their groupon deal, can't beat the price! They were here within a week...they were fast and super friendly! Our AC motor is going to give out soon, but rather than trying to make a few extra $, the tech was honest and told me we probably have another year or two with the one we have...I appreciate a honest business like this! I highly recommend them to anyone.

Just bought my 1st home and heard clicking sound coming from the vent!  Called them out to take a look and see what was wrong.  They said it was the cleaner and I had a really great unit (5 minute visit)... fully prepared to pay for them coming out, but they said they couldn't charge me for something like that!  Love when businesses put customer service over money!  I will keep their card for sure and use it again when I need to!  SUPER nice people!!

I used Allred to install a new gas stove/oven.  They had to run the gas line under the house to the location of the stove.  They were awesome to work with and showed up when they said they were coming and were willing to work around my schedule.  I would recommend them to any one and will use them if needed in the future.  A job well done in Bonney Lake, WA

Had Allred come out to the new house to install a Nest - want to say they were done in 20 minutes.  Including testing.  Fast, friendly, and great to work with.  No issues since then, and the Nest is controlling the furnace/AC perfectly.  Will recommend again!

Couldn't find anything wrong with my old furnace but they where professional and respectful of my time and house. Will use them again and I have a feeling it will be to replace my furnace. In the last 5 years, I have used multiple heating/plumbing/electrical for miscellaneous projects.  A couple of months ago I saw an Allred truck drive by and I snapped a pic with my phone.  I called them on an issue with a water heater and a gas leak recently.  My water heater was 6 months new and the company that installed it said they only guarantee their work for 90 days so they were going to charge me to look at it.  Instead of giving them more money, I gave Allred a try and was very pleased.  Nick came out, gave an estimate, finished sooner than expected, so it was a bit cheaper than quoted.   I used them again for a couple of punch list items that came up in our inspection report as we are selling our house.  Once again Nick came out, it was less than expected,  and the work was great.  So, two times now I feel great and will use them again.  Nick is a super nice guy, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to have in our home.  I have felt gouged in the past with other companies and truthfully, as a consumer, who likes that?  That is one reason I will go back to Allred.  To date, they have fixed a gas leak, water heater leak, repaired/serviced a gas fireplace and some other misc electrical work.  5 Stars all the way around.  Thanks Nick!

Had a 7AM appointment and Matt showed up even though it had snowed 1 overnight.  Had our furnace fixed and running for a minimal cost in about 30 minutes.  He asked how I found them and then reminded me that I could use the Yelp discount as we were about to pay (saving us $35).  Nice!  Will use them again.

My furnace quit working! So I marched out to my garage an took off metal panels, read all the warning then started trying knobs, valves and lighting pilots. Yeah, it was time to call a professional! I saw these guys on Yelp and gave them a call. With in an hr someone called me back and boom I had someone at my house a couple of hours later. I was shocked at how reasonable the repair charge was! It wasn't like I had leverage to negotiate, I needed heat! If you want personal, quick, professional service and a fair price call these guys!

Quick, professional, great.  Scored the Yelp deal, called them around 2 pm, they were out by 6 furnace repaired, price was fair..  I tried a few other places, but they were a day or more out.  These guys came out after hours and got it done.  Can't ask for anything more than that.

The pro that did my work was totally professional , highly knowledgeable ,and so very personable . Way out did my expectations  .

Not sure how this company has such high reviews, buyer beware.  We chose Allred to begin with as Groupon had an offer for an annual tune-up.  The scheduling of the appointment went well and they did show up on time, but that is where this happy story ends.  They cleaned and assessed the air conditioner and heating unit and found that the heater needed a new capacitor (we have now found out that this was unnecessary) which of course cost us additional money from the original payment.  After they completed all of their work they said everything looked good and that everything worked.  Scene change to the hottest day of 2017 so far (6/25) the air conditioner of course did not work. We tried testing the breaker and a few other non-invasive tricks and nothing.  We called them that night and they never called us back.  I called again a couple of days later and finally got someone on the phone.  I asked why they would leave and not be sure the unit worked. The response was they would  have to look and if it was their fault the would fix it for no charge. Hmmmm whose fault would it be, it has not worked since you touched it. They said they would have someone out that day and if not that they would call me.  Have you heard from them?  I still to this day have heard absolutely nothing.  We had to bring out another company (they have been top notch) however, we just had to spend another $400 for the service to get the unit working.  Worst experience in Seattle!

I needed my air conditioner cleaned but my normal heating air guys were booked. I hopped on groupon and found these guys. The price seemed right, the person answering the phone was friendly, and scheduling was easy. Unfortunately their guy came out, told me my unit was broken and not worth fixing, never cleaned a thing, then asked me directions on how to get home. Now I have to wait for my normal hvac guy to come out to repair and clean my ac unit and I'm out $60.

I didn't want to give them a two star but I had to. Why? Because I feel like I got ripped off. These people are nice and polite but they charge too much. Soon after they replaced my gas valve I immediately did a research on the unit. It costs $185 shipped and they charged me $669 for it installed. It only took the technician less than 30 minutes to do the installation, so the labor alone was $484. Thats $968 per hour labor rate. My mistake I didn't check the price first. I wanted to give them one star but the people were nice and they did a quality work so they deserve another star at least. If they had charged me $400 I would have been happy and give them a full 5 star. Lesson learned. My advice is do your research first before hiring them.

Woke up this morning to my wife telling me the furnace was not working. I called a couple places and was informed that the soonest that the could schedule an appointment was Monday, 5 days from today). When I saw Allred on Yelp and saw their great reviews, I decided to try them. They had someone come out in less than an hour. Matthew came in and asked a few questions, asked t be shown to the furnace, and quickly started in on diagnostics. He was not into wasting time talking, just interested in finding out what was wrong with the furnace so he could fix it. I liked that. He quickly determined that it was the transformer and determined that it had blown because of a short in the system. We had another company replace out circuit board approximately 3 months ago, and I have had problems with our furnace being loud and blowing cold air ever since. Matthew said that the short was related to someone previously bypassing the fan relay and that they had cut several other wires while they had worked on the furnace previously. He replaced the transformer and repaired the previous damage done by the other company in just a couple of hours (includes time spent going and getting the parts). The furnace now runs and sounds like it is brand new again. Bottom line, from the initial call until the final bill, Matthew and his entire team was professional, ethical, and responsive. I will continue to use them in the future and STRONGLY recommend them to others in need of furnace repairs/replacement.

Allred Heating and Air Conditioning came out today to service/clean my gas fireplace. I'm very happy that I contacted them. They were helpful over the phone and easy to schedule with. Allen came at the very beginning of my service window and was extremely professional and friendly. We hadn't had the fireplace serviced since we built the home--years ago. The control area was very dusty and I could hardly see the logs/embers through the glass (it was cloudy on the inside and dirty on the outside from my kids). Allen was quick and efficient, and now the fireplace looks clean and gorgeous. Wish I had this done earlier. Planning to continue to have Allred come out yearly for regular cleaning/maintenance of the unit.

Called them yesterday for furnace tune-up and they showed up today for the service. Dan is polite and very detail about the job and he answers a few questions that I have about the furnace and water heaters and he is very helpful!! Definitely will use them again next year. At the end of the work and he shows me the invoice and explains to me all the things that he's done or examined. Thank you Allred for the great work!!

I wrote a review of this business yesterday and saw it and it has now disappered so here we go again.  About 6 months ago we chose Allred to do the annual service on our heat pump/furnace setup.  They had a good price and were very professional when they did the first service.   About a week ago the system stopped on a cold night.  We called and they had a service man at our house in about 4 hours.  He found the defective part, replaced it, and did all the necessary paperwork to submit to the manufacturer for the free replacement.  On Sunday morning we awoke to a cold house again.  I called about 7 am and before 8 someone was at our door ready to find the problem.  The short was discovered and taken care of in about an hour and a half.  Superb  service and good value.   My highest rating.
