Best Air Duct Repair in Austin TX
Our A/C unit's condensation something or other backed up and started flooding into our house. As first-time homeowners this was startling so I reached out to a number of tradesmen right away. Xiaoyu responded quickly--late at night by the way--and showed up the next day hours earlier than he predicted he would be able to. Xiaoyu diagnosed the problem quickly, went out to get the right parts, came back and fixed it. The unit works better than before, and Xiaoyu also provided some context as to what caused the issue and how to prevent it. I couldn't be happier. Xiaoyu is my go-to HVAC guy now.

I bought a used hot tub that required to be hard wired with a dedicated 50 amp line. They called me and set-up an in-house estimate the very next day. I had no clue what the cost would be but was provided 3 options to get the job done with all cost upfront. Chris McDonald was great, very professional and caring listening to my needs and concerns. They do have low interest financing for larger jobs and a maintenance program for electrical systems like my AC/ furnace which I signed up for and saved me a lot of money. Coworker Stacy Woodard came with Chris on the very next day, part of the holiday weekend and put in a full day's work in the heat of the day to get our power line installed and run over 40 feet from the power box to the spa. Chris even went online and pull up the manual to our hot tub model to have the correct wiring schematics. I would definitely recommend them for being top notch electricians making me feel much safer hiring a professional. They also sent text messages to keep me informed of their arrival time with the employee's picture and a little bio so I felt like I was inviting a friend into my home.

I used to have a very favorable impression of Fox Service. They did the HVAC repair and maintenance for a previous employer. I called to get them to fix my central air system which wouldn't blow cold. I told the representative I spoke with on the phone, I thought it was likely the run/start capacitor.
Their tech diagnosed it and told me I needed a replacement run/start capacitor. After having described the symptoms and the remedy he showed up without the capicitor. He went back to their shop to pick one up.They didn't have one in stock so he fixed it by wiring multiple compactors overed by a torn and shabby cardboard box with exposed wires into my outdoor condenser unit. I was charged for two service calls.
That fix failed in a few days. Approximately $800 later they said I needed to replace the whole system and quoted me far more than their reputable competitors. They wouldn't apply the previous service charges toward the repair either.
Bottom line -- I bought the part for about $20 and fixed it myself. I called and explained what happened and said I thought I deserved a partial refund. Others in the same business in San Antonio (not on competition with Fox) agreed. I never received any financial consideration.
I will NEVER use them again. The second star is only for previous experiences.

I worked with a different AC company previously but I still had an issue with our indoor unit freezing and then leaking water. I wanted a second opinion about our leaking issue and I found Efficient recommended on my neighborhood's FB page.
Ernie was thorough and professional in his assessment of our issue. Our previous AC technician didn't seem as knowledgeable in comparison to Ernie. After checking our system thoroughly, Ernie correctly diagnosed the problem and our unit finally stopped leaking. In addition, the pricing was very reasonable. Highly recommended.

My dishwasher was leaking from the front door and I called 1st plumbing to ask if they could make sure it wasn't a clogged pipe or something. It was a Saturday and Justin came within 45 minutes. It wasn't a clogged pipe but the gasket on the front door of the dishwasher had eroded. He charged me the $100 for coming on a Saturday, which I had been told in advance, and even though he worked for about 30 minutes there was no additional charge. I will be calling 1st Plumbing for all my plumbing needs in the future. Fast, courteous, transparent with regard to fees, and a very professional person in Justin.

First off let me say that their technicians are super professional and courteous. Probably the best interaction with service techs you'll ever have. No issues there.
The problem is they use a pricing sheet for their services regardless of how hard or easy the work is. And it rarely works to the customer's advantage. I had a couple of outside outlets that were out and a outside light that was out. I suspected a breaker issue. It was a gfci breaker and I know those can cost a little more than a basic breaker, but they take a split second to install. So I expected 2-300 for that repair. I had a Salt technician come out look at the outlets for a second, plug a tester in that showed no power to the outlets and then quote me 550ish for the repair. Didn't check power at the breaker box or anything. So it wasn't really a diagnosis of what was really going on since they didn't trace back where in the circuit the power was still working. It would've take another couple of seconds to do that, but I wasn't done.
So it could've been a bad breaker, a bad outlet in the circuit, bad wiring, etc. But they just priced it as the most expensive possible fix and would've charged me that much regardless of how hard or easy the fix truly was.
Since I wasn't ready to drop that much without knowing what was really wrong, I went out and bought an outlet tester and a voltage tester and checked the outlet, which of course didn't have power. But the breaker that I thought was the culprit was hot. I pulled off the outlet and the wires were hot, so I knew it was either a bad outlet or a miswired outlet.
It ended up being an incorrectly wired outlet that was affecting the rest of the circuit, so that's why the other outlets weren't working. It ended up taking me about 30 minutes of diagnostic time and 10 minutes to fix. No cost in materials. Not exactly what I would call an over $500 job like they were planning on charging me...
Again, the techs are super friendly and the service is professional. But the flat rate charging they do is a complete rip off and they definitely lost a customer. Which is unfortunate for them because I used them previously for a hot tub job that got them over $1,000 in business, and had planned on using them for other things in the future.
If you have money to burn and care mainly about customer service and a good quality job, then they're great. But if your like me and you live paycheck to paycheck and care about service, but also care about not being overcharged, then find another service provider.

A friend of mine recommended the owner Steven Fikes to me so I went in and asked for him specifically for some work I have been looking into getting done. I was told by a colleague that he was out on a sick day so I thanked him and left.
Later that morning I'm notified by a family member that he had posted a video in a Facebook group in our community from his security footage of me walking back to my car in the parking lot, stating that someone sent their pregnant wife in regards to her husband doing illegal work and slandered me in the comments. As I am an 8 month pregnant wife, I have no idea what that was in regards to and believe he has me confused with someone/something else.
Either way, this is by far the most unprofessional thing I have ever encountered and I am still in disablief how something so insignificant got recorded and put on social media. If I could give zero stars I would. I'm confused and embarrassed to say the least.
If this is any indication of how this man conducts business, I would steer clear and far from this establishment.

Had a time window of 8-12 am today, didn't bother to text if they were on their way! My first call they said they were running late, 2nd call they said they would call me. I waited for 2 hours and called them again, while I was talking to someone, they left a voicemail to call them back and gave a 7-8pm window for tonight! Called them back and told them to forget the appointment! Wasted a whole day, since I made the appointment 5 days ago! Called them to speak to a manager and took awhile to get Weston on the phone, he just apologized and will use this for training purposes
