Did you know it possible to break a new toilet bowl tank by falling backwards trying to avoid an old deaf sleeping cat. ekkk . yes luckily we both were not hurt. called Jon Wayne's to reinstall new toilet. being booked for the whole week they managed to send Mitchell who by sheer luck helped us a year ago. On another issue. The smile, the general manner was all pro. After that drained our water heater, checked both toilets and dish washer.

on time, very reasonable price, even put up our garbage bin that was at street.

Simply the best, thank you JW services and thank you Mitchell.

I'm Still in shock with the conversation I had earlier with a sales person trying to schedule a free estimate????

So we are purchasing a house and I was calling around for some free estimates,
this company was the first one that I called,

I did gave them all the details and what I was looking for and when I wanted the service done,

I stated that I wanted the service done either this October or November,
I also mentioned that I was interested in getting prices for a generator in case we ever go through what we did two years ago with the Freeze.

Well believe it or not , I did receive a call back about 5 o'clock today from the same lady I spoke to earlier and she tells me that she spoke to the manager and stated that the (starting) price for an AC central heating would be about $18,000 and up!!!
and that the generator would start at about $24,000 and and up!!

The house that we purchase is a little bit over 800 ft so my respond was,  where are you getting these prices from,

She then asked me if that was within my budget?
and if it was then we can continue with the free estimate

I was in shock
I couldn't believe what she was telling me,
is this the way they run their business.

They had no idea what the house look like or what the house needed.

Luckily I did call around explain the situation to other companies About their practice
and they basically laughed as I did as well but I did find two other companies that are coming in this week for a free estimate

Jon Wayne You should do better shame on you guys

I called Jon Wayne on Sat, Dec 24th after I had a outside spigot burst. They scheduled me for Wed, Dec 28th from noon to 4pm - which I get because of the freeze. I told them I didn't have water, due to the pipe burst. Took a day off of work to make sure I was home when they were available.

The date prior to the appointment I confirmed via text and the date of the appointment I called at 11:32am to reconfirm - they told me everything was great and a plumber would be coming from noon to 4pm.

At 1:38pm on the days of the appointment, a guy called and said they needed to reschedule me to Jan 11th. I asked him why the change and he said the people answering the phone only booked the appointment, but he was actually in scheduling and that was the first available appointment. I reminded him that I didn't have water and took they day off of work - his responses that I wasn't in their loyalty program and the 11th was the first available.

I booked another plumber for Friday the 30th and they showed up at 8:30 and completed the project by 10am.

How can this be the great service Jon Wayne promises and how can they run a company this way?

I can no longer recommend this company.  Seems like there is a lack of leadership, care, trust, and commitment.

Our AC began short cycling and not cooling. Called John Wayne just because I've seen commercials. Ol' Travis came out and did his diagnostic, confirming that there was a leak in the indoor unit. The whole time he was acting as a used cars salesman than an actual person that cared about getting you taken care of. Basically trying to convince me that I need to replace my whole unit or at the very least the whole coil...for $5000. A quick google search showed me the high end of a replacement coil for my model was around $800 and he quoted me $700-$800 to refill the refrigerant. So minus other parts needed he was trying to charge me $3k+ in labor. Called a smaller but highly recommended company and they got me fixed up and my house cool again for $550 noting that the leak was not bad by any means and repaired it on the spot, along with a refrigerant refill and great customer service by the technician. I DO NOT RECOMMEND JOHN WAYNE BY ANY MEANS. Complete con artists in my opinion.

Same story different verse- great technicians - horrible management- recommended to family and every time they call get excuses of lack of technicians due to emergencies. EVERY TIME!!!

Question: if this is the story every time you call, then what is the difference between Jon Wayne and other AC companies?

Why have a Rescue club membership when someone will show up days later?

Elderly family have been left waiting! Less excuses - more results.

This rating is due to the abysmal waiting time to get servicing done. We had our new unit installed 2 years ago and are happy with the equipment. We purchased the yearly check up and servicing etc. to include filter and UV light. We called earlier this summer to schedule a service and were told it would be November! Installation etc. is fine, but follow up service needs to be improved greatly. 5 months for an appointment doesn't cut it.

Jon Wayne does give you a hourly labor or parts per invoice. they charge you what the technician thinks he or she can obtain. Don is crooked like all his technician. Thats why he started his own school to show them how to gain most profit for the company
Im very disappointed with BBB ratings and Express News rating
I will be starting a on line put out business Jon Wayne

We had our first encounter with Jon Wayne -- and it will be our last.

They advertise all over radio about their $29 service calls.  So how come I paid $138 for a service call?

I wish I had read these Yelp reviews before we paid for Jon Wayne to come out and check out our AC system.  They sent out some guy who explained he'd be on the phone a lot while be was inspecting our system.  I assume he actually did some sort of inspection.  The guy was really more of a salesman than a service technician.

He barely mentioned our system.  Instead, he spent 90 percent of the time trying to sell us a bunch of junk we don't need.  He could fix us up with everything we needed for only -- $7,000!  He had other packages in the $4,000 range!

They were all arranged on his iPad.  He would go through the wonderful things he offered then he would press a magic button and the $7,000 price tag would appear. It was almost laughable.

The Jon Wayne Service Company blankets the airwaves with commercials, recruits new customers, proved lousy or misleading services and tries to oversell.  I doubt repeat customers are a high priority for old Jon.  Get them in, try to oversell and dump them, seems to be the company motto.

We had a cold snap complete with freezing rain and electrical outages. Our lights went off and so did our heater. However, the lights came back on but not the heater. I called that Wednesday and they came out Thursday morning to access the problem. The motor went out on the heater, so we replaced it. We expected it would be Friday before the job could be done and we'd be heading to a hotel. But they came that afternoon and installed the new one.
I have never seen two young men work harded to make sure everything worked the way it should.
We even took out their rescue plan which saves us money from the home warranty we canceled.
I would highly recommend Jon Wayne Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone who has any kind of issue.

After my last review I received a phone call from Mike in the scheduling department wanting to make things right.  The only plumbing issue we had at that time was our bathroom sink faucet needed to be replaced as it was dripping.  My husband had already bought the faucet he just hadn't replaced it yet.  So we scheduled a plumber to come out to replace the faucet.  My husband bought a second faucet so both sinks match.  Received a call saying the plumber was available earlier then scheduled time and would it be okay for him to arrive earlier.  Yes.  Bobby, who by the way is the best Plumber on earth, asked what needs to be done, I showed him and an hour & half later he was done.  He also fixed a toilet.  I would have given 3 1/2 stars but it's not an option.  I'm still a little upset with Jon Wayne Service Company but I'm no longer outraged by them.

Working with JW has been a challenge. It's been two years since I updated our HVAC and I wish I had gone with a more service oriented company.

In the onset, the initial conversations went well. As stated in other reviews, they are not the cheapest, but make persuasive argument. It all sounds great with them claiming nationally recognized name brand units and their own systems broken down by home size and efficiency.

However, my troubles started immediately during install of the outdoor unit. The name brand units they claim are actually their own brand, AMERICA's PRIDE, and not the national brand they pitch with. I raised a concern and they said the unit was actually a national brand and they just replaced the brand logo with their own. That smelled fishy to me (bait and switch) and I called them on it.

To make it right, they gave me a larger unit and said it was better for my home anyway. That's where part of my troubles began. i believe that it was too big for my home. The air in our home used to be über dry year-round. We even had to have humidifiers running at times because of it. Now, the inside humidity is on the opposite end of the spectrum with a 65% year-round average. It's almost 70% inside my home today, with outside humidity at 65%. As a result, mold is becoming an issue in my home, as I'm finding it in dark areas like in the toilet tanks and under my sinks. The expensive task of battling mold inside the home has begun.

The second part of the issue is that every JW service call comes with a hefty charge, even if there's an issue with the unit. They have a subscription fee you can pay for discounts, but it's all expensive, regardless. So, in effect, they put in low-quality systems with extra parts and gadgets like short-lived UV bulbs and  such, then hook you into requiring them to come out annually and pump you for $300-$500 annually. It's a racket.

We called them to come out and look at our system because of high humidity, and regular maintenance. The guy that came out performed maintenance and changed the filter. But, when we brought up the humidity issue, which is why we called them, to begin with, he brushed it off. He said it couldn't be their system, and said it was dirty ducts, even though all the registers were clean. When I pressed with evidence that the system was the problem, he said we'd have to schedule another service call so some could come out and check the system. He said the system could be tweaked to drop the humidity. But, I'd have to pay for another service call. But, he said we should call in the Spring because the outdoor humidity will be lower, and will be better for testing the humidity indoors.

Then, he tried to sell me a subscription for service.

Here we are with NO A/C working, try calling Jon Wayne for emergency service and no luck.
Monthly paying  for a service plan, and being a customer a few years, and getting a unit that is approximately 2 years since we bought it from them, but not able to receive emergency service.  Really, NO EMERGENCY SERVICE, specially in Texas weather? I guess that is good to take people's hard earn money, but difficult to receive service when you need it.

Absolutely the worst customer service! The Rescue Membership Plan is a joke!

Not respectful of time taken off of work for scheduled repairs.

Paying monthly for front of the line 24 hour emergency service is a waste of money.

Will never purchase another piece of equipment or service from this company ever again.

Don't waste your time or money purchasing  Rescue Membership Plan, you will end up waiting in the order your call for assistance was received which usually takes 2-3 days after you call needing assistance.

You will not receive service or repairs to your HVAC system any quicker than anyone else with or without a Rescue Membership Plan.

Third time in year we had to call to get a service tech due to system not cooling in 100 degrees plus temperatures just to be rescheduled multiple times,  having to miss work for hours at a time each time, only to be told due to techs working other jobs and wouldn't be available for the time slot we were scheduled for.

Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time and money on Jon Wayne products, equipment, or service plans.

Why would an important system like air conditioning in Texas not have a Sunday emergency services available. This company advertises emergency services on their website. Their service plan(over $200.00) States they provide priority service if a member.  Guess nothing ever goes wrong on a Sunday.

I certainly wish we could get this type of service. We are sitting without a/c right now and have been without a/c twice a year since they installed our brand new system. We pay $55 a month for priority service but I guess everyone pays for the priority service cause we still have to wait days for them to come out and fix the A/C! They said without the membership fee you have to wait til 6/22!
I asked if we could use another company to fix it and get reimbursed but they said NO? Soooooo hotttttt! My poor doggie and kiddos! If I did not have priority service we would have paid thousands and thousands of dollars for all those MAJOR repairs and service calls

We saw available appointments within two day online. I called to schedule but those times did not exists. Scheduled appointment for a week later but they called on that date and said they were running late. Two hours later, they called again and wanted to reschedule 5 days later. They wanted to move us to the end of the line instead of bumping the Schedule. Online appointments are bait and switch. When you call, they take all your information before telling you the online dates need to be updated. They would rather drop you than respect your place in line. They could care less about you. I now regret dealing with these people after what other people warned me!

I'd give zero stars if I could.  Have been maintaining my system for its entire life.  It's five years old and stopped working after the replaced a part...preventively.  2nd unit stopped working working within a month...replaced the same part...didn't work for more then a day.  I feel scammed...it is now Christmas Eve before a big storm and no heat.  Use this company at your own peril!

Our A/C system froze up a couple of times (the basic freeze, turn it off for an hour or so and it starts working again). We called John Wayne out to come look at it even though it was working fine other than the two couple of freeze ups since we thought some maintenance would be beneficial. He said it was likely our filter, but then did the whole salesman speech on the laundry list of ways a new unit would be better, etc. We told him we were fine without one for now and would just replace the filter, but would consider a new unit down the road. Then he went back outside before he left and we went and ran an errand. He calls us and says I don't know what I did, but all of a sudden your breaker won't stop flipping. Then when we get back 10 min later, our compressor (which was only 2 years old) is now grounded and fried to the point of not being fixable, so our entire system is dead.

The only recourse the JWC tech offered was, in his words, he replaced the breaker free of charge, because I'm not sure what I did there. And then pulled up his lengthy price sheet again. $3-5k to replace the compressor that was now fried, or $11-15k for a new unit. I had a expert with over 30 years in the business come out for a second opinion and he told me what happened to the system, and he was appalled that they did this to us.

I attempted to escalate to JWC, but they offered zero in the way of assisting to make it right. Said not their fault, nothing they would do other than come out and give us price options to replace our system.

Not sure if it was merely grossly negligent, or malicious and intentional, but I do know that our AC worked when they showed up, was completely dead by the time they left, and they offered nothing other than extremely expensive options to at least put me back in the position I was in when they got there.

Would avoid at all costs unless you want employees to damage your systems, and the company deny it and tell you it is not their problem. They could have made it right at a negligible cost to their massive company, but instead left us to fend for ourselves.

What a joke , sent out two high pressure sales guys to service our AC . They first wanted us to buy a warranty and subscribe to a monthly service. I am so glad I read the reviews and was right away aware of what they were up to. Name is under Molina if you need to know to the owner since you had my first review removed!

Enrique Sifuentes arrived promptly & went right to work & did a thorough job rejuvenating our AC unit.  Personable, professional, & efficient, he had our system squared away, taking his time to make sure all aspects were functioning as they should.  His son has a good role model, & we will specify Enrique with by-name request next time.

Absolutely TERRIBLE. Our AC went out and we hired them to come look at it on Friday. Three days after the initial call. Which is fine I suppose. The lady tells us she will call between 8AM-noon to let us know they are on the way. They call at 7:30 which is fine ?? But why say 8-noon and call 30 MINUTES BEFORE the time you stated???
I didn't hear the call as I had the alarm set for 8 AM AS I WAS TOLD. They told me they could have someone out in the afternoon and all the representatives were busy I spent ALLL DAY WAITING FOR THEM ONLY FOR THEM TO SAY they could schedule NEXT WEEK. An absolute waste of time. Do NOT bother with this pathetic company.. absolute TRASH.

I Don`t understand why your Company Don`t Honor the Rescue Club Membership, The members are suppose to Have 24 hours response time
for their need`s ? I had a problem with My A/C unit on Friday evening, I explained the Young lady on the Phone that My Husband is a Heart problem that needs to stay cool and she told me that she would make sure to Note that on the service call, I had to call back on Saturday Morning and spoke to another young Lady about the same, But this Young Lady told me it would not be until Monday Afternoon before anyone would come out! Why do I pay to have the Rescue Club, it`s suppose to be 24 Hour turnaround time!!! I am not very happy with the service , that your People do not take a Medical Urgency Important!! I would like an Explanation from your office Manager or the Owner!! I have told Family and Friend`s not to use your Company for their A/C problems or anything else, I have also notice I received a text that My membership is coming up for Renewal soon!!! I have been a Member for many year`s and this is how you treat customers, Wow!!!!!

I would not recommend any one else use this company. We finally bit the bullet and replaced our 20 year old system. Nothing but regrets in choosing this company. First, as several other reviewers have stated, they constantly try to upsell you on additional services.  Today I noticed that my system seems to be constantly running at the same temperature all the time. I wasn't able to log-in through the site to check the schedule. When I called customer service I was informed it was because we did not renew our contract with them for service. So on top of the thousands we are paying for the system, these leeches want us to pay hundreds more a year in order to be able to access our own system!? I will be replacing their bottom of the line thermostat with something I own and control ASAP!

The icing on the cake for me was during the winter storms when the power was out for days, every time the power was restored we had to wait 5 minutes for surge protection, we couldn't even get emergency heat (which should be a crime!). So if we only got 5 minutes of power, we got nothing. People are freezing and there is nothing you could do about it.

Do NOT buy from this business!

Had an AC service scheduled for 4 weeks. Day of service they called to say they would be late. 2 hours after the service window of 4 hours, they said it wouldn't happen and needed to reschedule for 4 days out, and offered $50 off for me waiting around for 6 hours......really!!! Will never call them again, completely unreliable. Way to treat a first time customer.

Here is what happened to us
2 technicians arrived and less than 2 hours later they had completed the work. They charged us 1300 to put in a garbage disposal and clear the sink drain. Charged 300 to put a camera in the line 500 to install disposal 500 for labor and other service. We had to contact another plumber a month later for related issues. We did NOT contact JW. We called B and S Plumbing (highly recommend) and in the same amount of time they reseated our toilet and cleared the remainder of the line that JW did not assess. They charged 400.
JW was kind enough to cancel our contract without penalty after I called to complain about usurious pricing policy. They did not feel any refund of our money was appropriate because we don't say we're the most affordable company you signed the agreement etc.
B and S Plumbing if you want a company with integrity.

Saw the company on the news and thoughts we would give them a try. Not a good idea- Was not impressed with this company. We schedule an appointment a week out. They called and stated they were running late after waiting 3 hours then after 4 hours. Called and stated sorry we will have to maybe reschedule for you for another day. This wasn't a free service call when were paying $79 for them to come out. Why make an appointment and have people waiting for over 4 hours to not come out? We wasted the day waiting for nothing.

Same thing as lots of other people on here.  Poor management of service, It's 20 degrees outside, our heater (HVAC installed by Jon Wayne @ over $12,000 in February 2022) isn't working AGAIN.  Had them come out yesterday 12/23/2022 for no heat, replaced a faulty circuit board, heater started working, later in the evening, temp started dropping again, outside unit will not come on (same problem as before).  Called @ 7:30 12/24/2022, told me that the earliest anyone can be out to try and get heat for two 70 plus year olds is Monday morning.  48 hours?   I told the service manager who schedules appointments that I didnt feel that this was acceptable, especially since we have their priority service plan.  Was told that this was the best he could do, since they were very busy.  I would thin that a return call for service the next day would be a priority since the problem wasnt fixed completely.  I guess warranty calls dont make as much money as non warranty and thats why we have been pushed out 48 hours or more.  Have a Merry COLD Christmas day.

Ok so the first experience was not very good however I thought I would give them another chance. Second chance was worse than the first. I called for their tune up special, an $800.00 value for $199. I didn't even get what the tune up was supposed to provide. I received a $200 inspection. As soon as the tech knocked on my door he was prepping me for a new a/c system. After spending time in the attic he turned on my system at the thermostat then proceeded to check the outside unit. Outside he turned off my compressor then after about 30min came in and asked me if I felt a difference. Of course not the compressor was not running. He proceeds to tell me that the whole system is shot and to proceed with any of the items that were advertised, 1 pound of Freon, clean out, compressor saver, it would be futile. He gets me on the phone with a sales rep to get a new unit.
Now the sticker price was $50,000. SHOCKING!! I declined and the tech went to his truck only to return to my door 2 mins later asking for the full $199.00 payment. UNBELIVEABLE!!!! This however is not the end. You see this company also provides electrical work. The next day I went to use my range and there was no power to it. I did some trouble shooting myself and found that the tech had shut off the breaker to the range. Now this was not a breaker that tripped off. This was a secondary breaker that is located in the attic next to the a/c in the attic. I wonder if they were hoping that I would call them back to fix my electrical issue for the range. HOW DARE THEY USE JOHN WAYNE'S NAME and say they care for VETERENS????

Very expensive. Quoted me over $1400 to add a simple outlet in our house. They really tried to add all of these extra charges to our quote. We had our water heaters replaced in Oct 2021.  Jon Wayne Services was extremely quick to replace them because they were getting our $$$$.  Nov 8, 2022 we had a sensor go off on the water heater that serves our showers.  called customer services to have someone come out and see what the issue was, they stated all technicians are busy helping other customer emergencies and as soon as one was available they would show up.  A couple of phone calls later I was told to turn the main breaker to the water heater off so the beeping would stop.  By the end of the day no plumber, got a phone call saying that they were all still busy and that a plumber would be out the next day.  Plumber comes out and fixes the sensor.  a month goes by and the sensor goes off again at 2am.  call customer service and again was told all plumber's were busy helping other customers, at this time all I hear is blah, blah, blah.  A plumber arrives the next day and replaces the sensor.  Two weeks later, New Years Day, yup you guessed it, the sensor went off, this time for a different issue.  on Monday at 0800 I called customer service and again I hear blah, blah, blah, blah.  The next day a plumber shows up at 1000am, after a few minutes he thinks he found the problem and fixes it.  Not more than 20 minutes after he left the sensor went off again.  At this point I was ready to rip that thing out myself.  Called customer service and they contacted the plumber and he returned.  At that point he requested the water heater be replace, but they couldn't do it until Wednesday!  So after nearly 4 days without hot water for showers we finally had hot water.  We will NEVER EVER use Jon Wayne Services for new services nor will we recommend them.

I had a very bad experience with Jon Wayne, I do NOT recommend this company. I spent $8,900. and still don't have heat in 3/4th's of my house due to their incompetence & shoddy workmanship. I tried to get an appointment to talk to Jon Wayne directly to fix his shoddy work & all I got was the brush off, after they fleeced me of my money. Look elsewhere for a quality company that will do the job right, instead of leaving you high & dry, charging the highest prices & giving you nothing in return.

Schedule an appt on a Saturday for Weds of the following wee in the morning.  They called that they would come at 4, at 6 still hadn't come. We called them, then they called they had to move the appt to a Friday, 6 days to get an appt, while our air conditioner was not cooling.

They sent an aggressive, high pressure salesman to try and persuade me to purchase a system with options, technical specifications or extended service plans that I don't want or need. Their technicians get paid off of commission and it shows.

I spent a lot of money to have a new system installed by Jon Wayne for the downstairs of my home. It has been in my home for a little over 72 hours and this new unit has worked for less than 24. I am currently being told that it will be at least three or four days before their 24/7 service professionals will be able to even come to my house and determine that they installed a unit with a busted compressor.

I have never lived anywhere that had such a lack of reputable businesses to handle HVAC issues. It seems that all the companies here are working together to make pricing for their services less than transparent and prices artificially high. I suspect they are engaged in price gouging and market manipulation for this market. I will be bringing my concerns to the Texas AG

Never ever trust a repair company that pays their employees off commission.  The more they sell you, the more they get paid.  Which is the beginning of the problems we had with Jon Wayne.

AC broke - that happens.  They responded within 24 hours - dumb me, believed the trucks and TV commercials.  But the technician oversold my wife $1200 in repairs.  Which lasted a week (and my system is not old and we have it serviced regularly).

I was home when the second crew came.  They would not wear COVID masks until I asked.  They spent an hour determining it was a switch in the inside unit - $2400 to repair.  I asked how - said it was very labor intensive.  Well, turns out the crew that installed that unit three years ago let me help (they were too busy to come the first time).  The whole thing took 3 hours.  Absolutely outrageous quote unless you remember they work on commission only.  So I asked for replacement costs - basic system $7500 and top of the line was, drum roll, $21,000.  I asked if it came with a new roof, they looked confused.  And I sent them away.  I'll put wet towels over fans and stay cool until I can get someone else here.

If you missed it at the front of this review - NEVER trust a repair company that pays their employees off commission.  They will mark up your service and sell you stuff you don't need.

Fun fact - my wife is a realtor with one of the largest brokerages in the area.  She has a good HVAC story for her clients now.

We hired Jon Wayne to do their tune up special on two units.  Part of this tune up included flushing out the drain lines.  Two weeks after this tune  up our overflow drain starting leaking outside.  They were so busy looking for things we could spend thousands of dollars on than doing a good job on the tune up.

After reading my review, and knowing I was disappointed in their service the company refunded the fee we paid for the tuneup.

What an awful dishonest company. I am a single mother and a Veteran that was almost suckered into brand new electrical panel for $3600. This is my first negative review of a company and I believe it is warranted.

I called Jon Wayne Service Company because I was having issues with my dryer outlet. I just moved into a new house and I had just purchased a new washer dryer set and had the first dryer replaced because I thought it was the dryer. The second dryer came and wouldn't start so I figured the issue was electrical.

My appointment was initially made for a Wednesday and that morning they called saying all of their techs were tied up with emergencies. So I rescheduled for Friday. Friday rolls around and the technician walks in. I explain the issue to Tony and he appeared helpful.

My first clue to back away was when there was no testing done to the dryer outlet. He immediately went outside to panel stating if there's an issue than you gotta go directly to the source.

After a little bit he came inside with pictures showing me corrosion and another part that was burnt out. At some point he asked me if my husband was going to need to be present during this. WHY DOES THAT MATTER?

After he showed me the corrosion he went to work the numbers. He came back in stating that I needed an entire panel replacement. Which would cost $7000 for the premium or $4500 for the basic bronze series. If I wanted he could put a small bandaid on it and but that would last anywhere from 1 week to 5 years.

I told him to just put the bandaid on and I'd deal with it. Once I said that he immediately went to work on his tablet taking things off to drop the price on the bronze series to $3600 and also wanted to note that they offer financing if need be.

I initially accepted the $3600 deal. LUCKILY he rubbed me the wrong way so I stopped him before he started working and told him I was going to get a second opinion before I dropped $3600. He mentioned how their warranties were the best out there and to not let another company offer me a price for cheaper equipment.

I had another electrician who came out, WITH TOOLS, and ran numerous tests on the dryer outlet. Everything was working properly and he went outside to panel. He came back in stating that the dryer switch was OFF and that all of the numbers he got on his meter were in normal range. He also stated that there was nothing wrong with my panel and there was some natural corrosion but it was in good working condition. He reconnected the outlet and turned the switch on and magically the dryer worked! $120 service call and my issue was fixed!

When I called for an electrician I had no idea that I would be dealing with a slimy salesman that would try to scam me out of my hard earned money. It's sad and unfortunate that there are companies like this still out there operating and trying to take advantage of people.

I wish I could give zero stars!

I never actually received service from these folks, as every time I scheduled, they never showed up at the time window provided and or called to say they got hung up on other jobs and had to reschedule. So after 5 attempts and today being the final straw, I called and cancelled.

All I needed was a summer tune up and they were supposed to be at my home at 8 am. I get a call at 8:15 from the nice receptionist saying the tech was in traffic, but on the way.

So at 8:50, the tech is not here and I've cleared my morning out for these clowns and I was livid that it was almost an hour after the scheduled time...

So I called and said never mind, it's almost an hour past scheduled service time and I have work to do!

So if you want to get the run around and waste your time making concessions for a company that will probably leave you hanging? Jon Wayne is the company for you!

Also, judging by the other the yelp reviews, it appears they try to screw people on price too!

Guess I dodged a bullet! God only knows what they would have tried to con me into!?

Couldn't be more disappointed in their product and do NOT recommend. 6 days ago I paid them over 26K for a complete overhaul of my AC system. The workers were great and very courteous, however, here we are 6 days out and the system is not working. All day our upstairs has been 76° (feels warmer, honestly). I set it to 72°, no change. I set it to 68°, no change. I went outside to check the unit and it is not running at all. I'll be calling them in the morning to voice my anger and displeasure. I told them that my number 1 priority is having something that works and that I don't have to worry about, they guaranteed me 20 years and can't even give me a week. Go somewhere else and save the trouble.

Within 24 hrs of contacting the original salesperson I received a phone call from the manager who sent someone out immediately.
This is what was explain to me,
1) yes you can control the air and other through your phone but we also
2) monitor the system, like an alarm company. So if something goes wrong someone comes out within the hour or less.
This service costs $5 a month. Not the answer I wanted, but I understood. I do believe their should be a free option without the monitoring.

I still give this company a 5 star because of the amazing costumer service. It's just beyond what I always expect for them

Had an appointment scheduled between 8-12, only to get a call saying its more like 2. I had to call back at 2 only to find out, o wait ur looking at more like 6pm. No apolgizes just we're running behind do u want to keep the appointment or not. Theres running behind then theres running 6-8hrs a whole day behind. If u were running that far behind that should of been something acknowledged way before hand, and just asked to reschedule..or at least a call back after a 2 hr push back window was now going to have added another 4 hr window. People take off work or give up their day off to wait for an appointment you guys scheduled and cant even keep or apolgize for.

I have been a homeowner for many years. Over the years I have hired a number of skilled people. Some of them have been good and some not so good. The WORST was a plumber from John Wayne. He caused damage to my property. It was the single worst experience dealing with a company I have ever had in my life. I have told everyone from family to friends, and I am considering calling the news.

We are very disappointed of our service . Because my mom had pay for a battery for the AC unit outside that didn't had buy it . We needed a new one it was a waste of 500.00 . Now we a new a/c the whole thing. The guy didn't tells us that the outside unit was no good and didn't tells us that it needed freon. So now we are out of a/c for the rest of the summer. And they took 500.00 from us for a battery that we didn't need .
But I guess we will here from them. I hope they will read this and maybe remember are number and gaves a call. It's sad that we lost 500.00.we don't know if he really put the battery on or not .Very disappointed! Do they really read this I hope so.

I am totally upset.  I purchased a brand new unit 2 ears ago and now I found out that if I do not pay Jon Wayne a monthly fee, I do not have access to the thermostat because it is a Building 36 which is tied to Jon Wayne.  I was not happy with having to pay monthly service fee on a brand new unit.  I was also sold by the sales representative who stated that the unit I needed was much larger than I needed (more expensive) and was told it would be much quieter then my old unit and it is not, in fact it is louder.  I was warned after the fact by several friends that I was not going to be happy with Jon Wayne, but it was too late.  I hope this helps others.

Negative! They basically make you buy the club membership. My case 175 each ac unit to get the 20 % discount. BTW where are the bad reviews on Google? None found. Don't use them! 350 to put no leak sealant on the unit. I just needed new thermostats and some freon.
Yes units are older but this guy comes in with a nearly 200000 estimate! Stays in the van a hour working on the invoice after I keep knocking him down on price..I feel sorry for older or more vulnerable people. Bottom line 1700 for new thermostats ..freon.. condersor...

I thought this was a great service company after my first service call, the second call turned into a water main headache that had to be worked twice. The third took a long time to complete then the fourth... I was informed that the plumber discovered not one but two gas leaks in my house, and signs that the water main was still leaking. Mind you, the service technician was very professional and nice; however, the lack of urgency of the fact that I have two gas leaks on premises and the tech said he called it in and would work to see when they could send someone out to fix them. An hour later and still no update on when they would be able to fix the gas leak. I don't know how long I have had a gas leak prior to the tech discovering it.

I was starting to get a little concerned then was wondering if the plumber was going to call CPS energy (gas provider). I could also hear a storm coming and just kept thinking about lightning and my leaking gas.

When I called CPS energy to let them know I had a gas leak, they came not even 30 minutes later and had repaired both gas leaks free of charge. The CPS tech was caught in a hail storm and apologized for being late. The kicker, it was an emergency I was told to evacuate my house and seek shelter elsewhere. Jon Wayne didn't see it as an emergency nor were they able to do anything with already one service tech on site. I now worry about my safety with a company like this. How do I know that my monthly rescue plan is worth it? Why should I fear that my service provider is looking out for my well being?

The technicians all seemed nice and helpful, but I am wondering overall on experience on their behalf. The tech was able to text his colleague to check and see if there was room for an add on part for my water heater and get a response quickly, but no response on the gas leaks or what their plan was to tighten the gas lines.

If you want to be overcharged, then sit through a
sales pitch, these are your guys! Seems like technicians get commission, which is never a good model for honesty.
We paid $1000 to fill up Freon and it was
Not full (we stoped him from continuing). Obviously shocked, told because we have an older A/C unit. FYI....our house is 6 years old.
Called 2 other companies to see what they would have charged and were half the price.

Here we go again! I paid Jon Wayne 30K cash for a brand new HVAC system in June 2020 and have had nothing but problems with my HVAC system since May 2021.
They came out to do the yearly maintenance in May 2021 and ever since then my HVAC system has broken down three times since then.
I noticed that it was getting warm in my house tonight and could hear the system going full speed so I took a look at the thermostat and it was reading 78 degrees.  I usually keep my house at 74 degrees.  I called Jon Wayne and reported it and explained that this is now the fourth time this was happening in which I got the okay we'll send someone out in the morning attitude.  What made me upset is when I asked her what I needed yo to about the system blowing out air at a rapid rate and would it damage my system and was told that's up to you if you want to turn it off.  Sorry but I have paid you guys 30k cash in June 2020 including an additional $600 in May 2021 for a yearly membership in which my system is insured and the technician will come out and service my HVAC system anytime at no cost.  What a bunch of bull!
I'm going to go on YouTube, TikTok, Nextdoor, and the local news media to tell them what a scam this company is...

I am 100% OK with being too busy to accommodate all of your customers in a timely manner.  What I am not ok with is promising service windows that you cannot fulfill.  People depend on these windows and schedule time off work for these.  It is unsatisfactory to not deliver your product if you say you will be available during these times.  After two days without water to my home I was able to get service from Joe.  He was super professional and fixed my issue in less than an hour.  I have NO issues with the technicians; however, I do have issues with the scheduling department.  The next time I have issues with my plumbing, I will be seeking a different company unfortunately.

Not happy today. I searched thru Home Adviser for pros to install two attic fans. Jon Wayne was the first to respond. We set up an appointment for 8-10 am. Got a call at 9:30 letting me know the pro was running behind. Around 10:30 or so, Lane arrived. Nice young man, clean cut, well spoken, good impression.
He went into my attic and had some insightful comments about attic fans and natural gas furnace, and said he could do some numbers for me. I told him I was just doing research, and wasn't ready to commit. He explained that if I waited, the numbers could change. I mentioned most companies give estimates good for a certain amount of time, usually 30 days.
After a while, he comes back with a tablet, and starts talking about their different service plans, that take care of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC for a fairly large number. When he started on the second level of the plans, I stopped him and told him I wanted attic fans installed, and that I didn't request anything else.
He explained that the company did all these nice things, and I'd get discount if I signed up for their plans. I said no.
He finally showed me the price to install two fans... over $2300. When I asked him if that was the best they could do, he said I could save if I signed up for their plan; I'd save $100.
But when I asked him to email me a proposal, he demurred, telling me the new software they used didn't allow him to email me the proposal.
Wow. Can't believe any company today operates that way. Exceptionally expensive, can't send me an estimate, and prices subject to change. Nope. I don't do business that way.

On the day we paid for the foam insulation, we had the representative add to his notes that the attic had rat traps.

The Pest Company, for $180, had just set the traps.

The representative added it to the notes that the traps should be set aside.

On the day of installation, the installers were reminded about the traps. They said, yes they saw it in the notes.

The insulation was installed, and we had the Pest Company come out again to install wire over the vents and reset the traps, which he could not do because:

The rat traps were missing
The vents were covered with foam

We asked Jon, the son of the owner, to come out. He admitted that they made a mistake and offered to send a check for $145 (the Pest Company offered a reduced price to set out new traps.)

This was on 02/14/19. We contacted Jon, via email, on 02/25/19. No response and no check even though in a previous email he said he would send one out that week.

Later, the house began to smell of rat.

Called the Pest Company again. The employee went up to the attic, located the smell but could not get through the foam insulation in order to get the trap and the rat.
Needless to say, this was a very disappointing experience.

We like to find companies and use them again for other projects.

For anyone reading this review, I cannot recommend this company due to the quality of work, and the check and response that were never received.

I called to schedule a service appointment. Gave them all the information about the property. They told me there would be a $75 fee because the unit is on the roof, although no other companies I have talked to charge this fee. I was told the scheduling person would call me back to confirm time. I get a call back about 30 minutes later and this person tells me they are not able to go today because my unit is on the roof and the technicians don't carry large enough ladders to get on roof. It's only a two story condo/townhome! Furthermore they told me since it requires a ladder to get on roof they won't be able to coordinate a technician to go out until Dec 19. Apparently it will take them 12 days to get a tech who has a ladder? Ridiculous!

We called because our AC was constantly running and not cooling.  They arrived in time, found all kinds of things wrong with our system and recommended replacement.   The techs arrived in schedule (5-6 techs) and spent the whole day sealing the lines, replaced both furnace and AC unit and other minor things all for $16k.  The new system works great and we keep it set to 80 because 79 is too cold.  After reading the reviews I wonder if we did the right thing.

I've been through a series of unfortunate events and still do not have air conditioning since the end of May. I called these guys for a second opinion recently. When they arrived the technician was friendly and seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He diagnosed my unit with an incorrectly sized capacitor and said that it was the cause of my issues and that the other company failed to replace it with the right size. Upon further investigation (looking at the parts list located inside of the unit), I found that the previous tech did indeed replace the right part and that I was blatantly lied to. I can understand a small mistake but when you go into bashing the company I used before, and tell me I need to replace parts I don't, I start to lose faith in you. So now I'm out the 150 fee for nothing. It's a shame too as I was personally referred to them.

Update 6/25/18:
The company reached out to me about my review in an effort to remedy the situation. While I do appreciate management reaching out to customers in times like this, I could have still been charged quite a bit of money (as estimated by the tech), for something that turned out to not be the issue.  I have bumped them to 3 stars for the time being in an effort to remedy this situation and appreciate them wanting to send a senior tech out to diagnose what exactly is going on.  I will provide further updates on this review as this transpires in an effort to remain fair to not only the customer, but also the company.

Scheduled an appointment for today 12-4. At 2:47 they send me a text saying they are running late, do I still want them to come. I said yes as my AC is not working in the Texas heat! They texted back that they would give me updates. NOT!! I called them at 6 pm only to be told that they would have to reschedule. (They also did not show up for a plumbing appointment in December 2020.) I pay them 14.95 a month for their HVAC Rescue Club service plan. I would have thought that counted for something but apparently not. Don't use this company is you value your time.

This company is full of crap!!! I've been waiting a month for one of their plumbers to come out and the day of the service I get a call saying that the service I ordered is not one they provide. REALLY???? What the hell!!! If it's not a service you provide then don't keep me waiting for a month! Don't trust these people! Do yourself a favor and go with another company!

Had some issues with our heater approx 4 months ago and tech that came out was definitely a salesman. He told us how bad our system was and that we would need a full replacement.

He proceeded to tell us he couldn't get us a exact quote and was really vague on what they could do for us other than getting a full replacement. He would throw out numbers for certain things but it was all iffy. He ended up giving us a round about quote $8,000 but couldn't give specifics. I could tell something wasn't right because my BS alarm kept going off.

As he checked the heater, he proceeded to tell us we had a sweater (lots of dust)in the coils and that the system was dangerous even though when he tested the system for carbon monoxide it read fine. I was eventually able to get him out of my house. When I tried turning the heater on it would not kick on like it did before, I then realized he flipped a switch on the heater which disabled it ( yes there is a switch). He also didn't put the duct back together like it was originally. After we shooed him away I hired a different hvac guy and changed the filter (which I do monthly). I also paid a honest hvac guy $250 to fix some ventilation issues and clean the coils that the Jon Wayne guy wanted to charge 1-2k for. Heater and AC have been working fine for months and no issues ever with carbon monoxide or anything.

With all the commercials I hear on the radio I felt like I could trust them but this was not the case. You are getting a salesman in the house and his job is to get you a new hvac system not to help trouble shoot and solve an affordable problem.

If you are looking for a new heater then call them. If you want service look elsewhere. Trip charge was 30 bucks if I remember correctly.

Had Jon Wayne come to check on my AC last week. They said they would be at my home between 8 and noon, the man arrived at 12:30. So they waved the service call. (I had to ask for this, they never offered). Instead of trying to fix the issue, the technician was more interested in selling me a whole new AC system! (inside and outside units, $9k Plus) when he saw I wasn't going to go with a whole new system, he quoted me $426 for a part which I can buy from Amazon for $18.

I felt like I was just being ripped off.
No way would I recommend Jon Wayne,
I'm gonna use the mom and pop companies from now on.

UPDATE: I bought the part I need a few days ago from Johnstone supply (Alamo downs Pky) for $30 and I'm doing great in my nice cold home!

Scheduled a repair on Thursday, dispatch said they would be out next Monday 2-6pm.  No call, no show.  Emergency line went to voicemail that had a full inbox.  Called next day, and their system shows they called and left a voicemail on a cellphone that does not allow voicemail.  Earliest they could do would be next Thursday.    Do not depend on this company to do what they say they are going to do.

UPDATE:  Do you know that annoying message that says the call may be recorded for quality assurance.  Well, to Mr. R's credit, he used them to verify my side of the story, researched to find my name and contact info, contacted me personally and apologized.  He also assured me he would deal with the situation personally.  Very nice touch!

Based on our conversation, I will upped my rating and will definitely consider using them if/when I need their services.  As I told him on the phone, I hope that's not for a very long time!  LOL

Thank you for the personal touch, Mr. R.!

I had a leak around my water heater back in February, I think the cause was the freeze. I am a member of their rescue plan, so I called them in February and explained my problem. They stated because of other emergencies they would not be able to come out until April 9. A little far, but I understood that other people had real big emergencies.
So I took off work on April 9th so I could be there for my appointment. When it gets close to the service time, I receive a call stating that the technician is running late because of other emergencies and that they will be at my house late in the evening, or I could reschedule for another day. I told the lady I had taken off from work to be there for my scheduled appointment (which I had made two months in advance). She said that they could come out but it would be very late. So, I took off work for nothing. Why am I a member of this rescue plan which is supposed to give me priority service if I don't get  priority service? I was patient enough to wait two months for them to come out, and they can't even come out to my scheduled appointment on time? Maybe they need more help? Not really sure what the problem is?

I called Jon Wayne because my unit was not producing cool air in y home. i paid the technician $175.00+ and he did not do anything except for telling me I need a new unit. OK, great! But why take them money for no service provided. Maybe it is time to get a new unit, I asked the technician how much will it cost me to get duct work. He quoted me, over $10,000.00!!!!! The quote for a new unit, I think Carrier brand, at the low end $19,000.00, he sent me other quotes $30,000.00+. Seriously? I like in a high scale neighborhood and every time I request anything from yard work to plumbing issues, these companies tends to run up the price. How do I know? I own a home in a mid-low end neighborhood and the prices are night and day. Luckily I know how to install HAVC and was planning on doing the installation myself but just wanted to see companies trying to advantage of people. Please do your research on HAVC because for example American standard and Trane are from the company. After doing more research, majority of the A/C unit parts, replacement part are produce by one company. The working components of a A/C units are relatively the same. Only the price is different.

Beware of this company.  I thought they were an  honest company going by the guy on the commercial.  But I was wrong .  I recently had them come do some repairs, electrical and HVAC.
The HVAC cost me $1400 for them to run 2 drain lines on my AC units.  I figured ok, guess they know what they're doing.  That same day it leaked.  They sent another guy out and fixed it.
Secondly I had one of their electricians come out and do some work  that cost me $1800. Now I'm no electrician but for what he did seemed high. So when I asked about one last issue , running a ground wire , he told me that'd put me in the next service level ??  Huh??  Then he pulled out his chart and said your in this level, $1800, if I do this ground wire it will put you in the next level which is $3100.  I realized that I was being hustled.   I ended up getting a smaller electric co to come out and do it for $400 and only took them one hour.  The difference was huge !  With John Wayne I woulda paid another $1100 or more compared to $400
Last of all was their plumbing guy.  He quoted me almost $5000 on some minor repairs that prob would take one day.  I knew after the above work that I needed a second bid. I hired another  company and got it done for $600.
I'm pissed at myself for being too  lazy to look around. I figured John Wayne was the way to go since I would only have to deal with ONE company.   Try another company first. Never again. Nothing against the repair guys but they need to stop over charging !!  Next time I will get more bids

awful company. We had a brand new install in january 2021. The system  just completely failed a few months later on  june 12th, 2021. They are  refusing to visit to help the problem until several days later if at  all.

Edit on 6/17. Jon Wayne did solve the problem. But we were forced to wait a day in 90F+ weather  first and had to beg to get someone out. The service technicians are  excellent. My concern is regarding the company's philosophy and  management. We are brand new customers who purchased a full HVAC  replacement and full service plan. To me it seems that Jon Wayne's  business model is to have to more customers in need then they have  technicians to help. I am very worried that my family will have to go  days in the hot weather without AC. My advice to anyone looking is to  read the YELP reviews. Whereas the Google reviews for Jon Wayne are positive the YELP reviews have many stories similar to mine. The  current repair to my system was easily something that I could have done  myself (primary drain was clogged). At the time of install I asked for  an explanation of how my drains operated but was not given one. Then a  few weeks ago I contacted Jon Wayne because my auxiliary drain was releasing a lot of water. They said it  was fine and told me not to worry. I now know that this was a SERIOUS  RED FLAG that indicated that my primary drain was clogging. I was  ignored when I asked for help. They instead chose to wait until my  system failed so they could do a full service call. And they initially  expected my family to wait days to get this service help after the  system failed. The install of my system has also required numerous site  visits to try to fix my system. I am not sure whether the unit is faulty  or is the incorrect unit to match my house or other. I will try to  update my reviews as I encounter more issues with this company. I prefer  that Jon Wayne remove the system for a refund so that I can work with a different company.

This company earned this review from me because of an estimate given for doing work at my home. they sent out one of their electricians, and I explained that I needed work done on my electrical panel in my home. now I should explain that I have a small home, it's only 1250 square feet. Given that; The other work I needed was that I needed electrical outlets put in both bathrooms in my house, the GFAC Plug in my kitchen needed replacing, I needed a couple extra plugs in my kitchen, a light hung in my garage area and another plug put in my living room.
The Technician Quoted Me a price of $21000.00  Yes, That's right...21 Grand for That little bit of work for a house that's only 1250 Sq. Ft. in size. I told him that I was having my entire roof replaced for 8,500.00 and He had the audacity to charge me that much!
No way would I ever go to this company to even have a light bulb replaced. They will try to rip you off.  I had a phone call from the company after the Tech left, and they asked me how it went and when I told them what He tried to quote me they weren't even shocked by it. It was like business as usual. All I got was Im sorry you feel that it was too much sir.  Im getting quotes from other companies, and even using places like angies list and home advisor. Im sure I can get a way better deal than this.

We recently moved to San Antonio and purchased a home with an old AC unit that quickly went out. Considering the summer heat, I called a few contracters to give me quotes, and I must admit I was looking forward to Jon Wayne because they seemed reputable from their commercials.
A salesman showed up pretty quickly to diagnose my home needs. He spent over two hours at our house, which we weren't expecting, but gave me peace of mind that he was doing a thorough job. He gave me quotes that were WAY higher than the competition, but he pitched me the Jon Wayne sales deck that talked about how honorable the owners are... and I fell for the pitch like a sucker!

Long story short, I was happy to pay a premium for an honorable company but was sorely disappointed. The installers put in a smaller unit than we were told we needed from the extensive diagnosis. I tried telling them there was a mistake, but the salesperson rushed to my house to assure me that the smaller one is what I needed. I tried to explain him the ethics about a one sided change to an agreement post execution... but he wasn't getting it. He obviously just wanted to get the job closed out.
His manager eventually offered to cut some money off the amount to compensate for the smaller unit that was installed. Not wanting to deal with them anymore, I agreed. However, they still submitted the full price to the financing company!

Now I'm wasting even more time disputing the balance!

I'll never use them again, and I WARN ALL OTHER CONSUMERS TO GO WITH A DIFFERENT, HONEST COMPANY!

I scheduled a free estimate online to put an extra outlet in my house. The website allowed me to select a date, and a time period that would work for my schedule. About 30 minutes after I scheduled the appointment, I received a phone call saying that the days scheduled was actually not available. Because of this, I was scheduled for the following Saturday between 8 and 12. At about 11, I received a phone call saying they were 3 hours behind. This information would've been helpful earlier as I shifted my entire schedule for my day around the morning appointment. Anyways, they asked if I was free in the afternoon between 2 and 3. I said I was. They also said they would call later when they were 30 minutes out, or to give me an update if they weren't going to make that time. It's now 3:30 and still no electrician, or phone call. I'd stay away from this company.

I really wished I had a positive update.. 2 years later we are still paying for a system that doesn't work. Our house feels like we live in the rainforest!

I just found out that I don't have to have Joh Wayne service our equipment and have had 3 different companies take a look and some how they all came back saying the exact same thing! Pretty crazy! Given that I have been told since Jon Wayne installed my unit, that is was perfect and nothing was wrong with it.

If that was the case I would not have to keep my thermostat at 68 just to somewhat lift the humidity. At this point we are looking into how we can get out of our contact. Do we need to hire a lawyer or what? I am sick of going to bed in wet sheets and a freezing cold yet soggy house! Not to mention the air ducts that clearly have mold and dust being blown into our breathing air. No wonder my son is on all kinds of meds.. This has gone on long enough! We want this piece of junk gone!

You DO NOT get what you pay for with this company... We honestly feel robbed and backed into a corner! STAY AWAY! In fact turn and run!

I requested a quote for about a dozen can lights in the front soffit of my new home. Nothing fancy, area was accessible, just down lights for landscape/accent purposes. I expected the materials to be in the $500-$700 range, and perhaps the labor to be as high as 3 times that tops. So, around 2K max right? Nope. The quote was over $6500. You decide if that's honest or not.

We had an appointment scheduled from 2pm - 6pm. I had to take half a day off from work in case they actually showed up at 2pm. By 5:45pm we hadn't heard from them so we called. The lady stated that she had to get a hold of after hours to get us an update. After hearing 'after hours' we knew they weren't coming.. but she assured us they had a crew working until 10pm. She called us back and said they would not be showing up today.

I completely understand that it's the busy summer season and unfortunately not all appointments can be met. But what if we wouldn't have called for an update? Would their customer service have had the courtesy to eventually call me and tell me to stop waiting because they were never going to show? Would they apologize for me having to take half a day off? No, we had to track THEM down.

As a professional business they should be taught to update their clients when they aren't planning to show up. We had so many choices to pick from and unfortunately chose a company that has no respect for their client's time. I would not do business with them again and do not recommend them to anyone.

Decent work, nice kid they sent out. Please, just check my A/C, stick to the agreed upon price and don't spend three hours trying to sell me a new air conditioner! My A/C went out SEVERAL YEARS AGO and I called John Wayne (JW)...had seen his ads on TV. JW tech examined my system and told me it was going to cost $800 to $1200 for a repair depending upon the options I chose, but my best option because my system was seven years old was to buy a new system at a cost from $14,000 to $20,000.  I had JW show me where my system was failing...it was inside my garage air system closet.

Got a second opinion from another service but said nothing to them about JW's diagnosis.  The second service said it was a capacitor failure...located outside my home!  Cost $150 to replace. I was concerned I was just putting a bandaid on a failing system so I showed the second service where JW had said my system was failing.  The tech took out a meter and showed me that part of the system was working perfectly.

I wrote a scathing review about JW on another site.  JW sent me an email offering me $50 if I would change my review to a positive one. No offer to refund me the $90 JW charged for the diagnosis.  I turned JW down because I think everyone needs to know that some of the techs JW sends out will lie, over charge you and try to get you to buy an overpriced system.  JW techs must get a commission on selling new units. In 2017, I bought a new 2 stage air system from the second service for a total of $7,500...half the cost of what JW wanted to sell me several years ago.

If you must replace your air system go with a 2 stage air system...slightly more expensive but my electrical bills have gone down, and there are no blasts of air or noise coming from the air ducks...it's nearly silent when it's on.  I couldn't be happier and tell everyone to stay away from JW.  Be sure to have your air system serviced twice a year to avoid its early demise.  A loose arcing wire can ruin your system.

Scheduling of appointments is the worst. EXTREMELY inconvenient. When you choose the last service appointment of the day, be prepared to not hear from them, until you call asking where the tech is. Then they try to apologize and tell you that the tech scheduled for you is still working on another site and will probably arrive late.

This company charges a very ridiculous high price!!! First, you have to pay $89 just for them to come out and give an estimate. If you are looking for a company that will schedule you a week out and then cancel the day before they are schedule to show up, then Jon Wayne is the company for you. I made an appointment with their office over the phone on Feb 18 and I requested to be put on their urgent list. The customer service representative for the company scheduled me for Feb 26. On Feb 25 (the day before they were scheduled to arrive), I received a call from a Jon Wayne representative who informed me my scheduled service date was moved out to Mar 16. I don't think Jon Wayne's scheduling department has clear understanding over their workload because they are scheduling out dates and are not able to show up. I called on Feb 26 to let the company know my frustration and they said it would be used as learning opportunity. Thanks Jon Wayne, for wasting my time.

I own a house in universal city that my mom is staying in, I needed someone to come and take a look at what I was told is a possible leak and whoever owned the house before did a horrible job on it. I scheduled an appointment and they never came. I scheduled another appointment today window was 10 to 2, called at 12 to see if I was still on schedule they told me the tech was 30 mins out. It is now 1:40 I gave them a call and they said they will not be coming because they are too busy. This is ridiculous, I've literally tried to communicate efficiently and let them know this is the second time, and to be nothing is inexcusable. Especially when I've now traveled twice in town from Austin, with a 6 month old just to be stood up again.

We had to have a water line rerouted. They had to go crawling around in both of our attic spaces and cut multiple holes in sheetrock to do this. They were so good at explaining everything they did, and they kept the holes to the minimum they could get by with. They were very professional and neat with their work. I would highly recommend Jon Wayne!

After taking PTO so I would be home for my 12-5pm appointment, I got a call at almost 8pm letting me know that the technician would not be able to come out because they were too busy with other customers. But I was welcome to pick another weekday for them to possibly come out again, maybe, if they found the time in their busy schedule for someone with a pre-paid 10-year service plan. My only suggestion would be, if you absolutely MUST use Jon Wayne, don't pre-pay for your service plan. They give preferential treatment to people who will pay them that day, rather than to those whose money they've already taken. I've had my a/c unit for two years now, and this is the second year in a row I've had an issue with my annual service appointment. Last year they gave a similar excuse, so it must be something they're trained to say. After waiting six weeks for this appointment, it's a tough pill to swallow that I've been sitting here waiting for 8 hours, only to have to wait a whole week longer. I cannot stress enough how poor their customer service is after they've already sold and installed their equipment. Need a new a/c, we'll be there in an hour, seven days a week! Need it serviced, we'll be there in 6-8 weeks, Monday-Friday, during YOUR work hours! That's the Jon Wayne Way!

Incredibly disappointed with this company! I had a service appointment scheduled ahead of time, over three days, and on the day of the service, at 3:46, after I had already left work, since there estimated time for service was between 2-6, I received a phone call asking me if it would be OK to reschedule. I informed the representative that I couldn't continue to leave work to accommodate their service technician since I had already left to attend to this appointment. I was then informed that the technician would continue to work and make it to our appointment but it would be closer to 6pm. At 630pm I received another phone call tell me that the technician would not show up after all. I requested to speak to management as I did not feel that my time was valuable to them. I was refused the opportunity to speak to a manager. I don't understand what serious company would do this to their customers. Why can't they call the customer before they set appointment timeframe to avoid wasted time and money? This is really frustrating and ridiculous. It shows this company has no regard for their customers time and employment. Very disappointed!

Update: as of Saturday morning I still have no resolution to my complaint. This company continues to disappoint! Jon Wayne Service Company I have been waiting for over 48 hours to hear from your management team. So far my experience with your company is so disappointing. You have shown zero concern for the interests of your customers. What a joke!

Not happy with Jon Wayne. They came out to my home in San Antonio, quoted me ridiculously high prices on a simple job.  Over $1,000 for a simple about hour long repair, to close to $2000 ($1904 to be specific) for the same job with a longer warranty. Had a different company come out to evaluate the problem (didn't charge me a dime!) who charged me half! of what Jon Wayne tried to charge me - for the same job! The other company was responsive, polite, and came promptly and with no fuss.  I would not work with Jon Wayne in the future - will definitely be working with the other company if I have any plumbing issues in the future.

We purchased our A/C system about five years ago from Jon Wayne.  It came with a five year service agreement and we have been very happy with their fulfillment of that agreement.  the A/C is still working as it did on the day we purchased it and we plan to extend our service agreement if possible.
The staff are very knowledgeable and professional and always arrive within the period of time they specify.
We recommend their services without reservation.

The service was good and the guy was polite however the prices were not reasonable, unstopping our sink drain for $298. That's fairly decent... but $598. To replace two brass thread on laundry room valves is not reasonable. I am all for a company making money, but come on $598. For two stop valves and labor... let's say the valves are $100 (which they are not), that leaves $498 for labor and supplies... they are thread on valves... not reasonable... #disappointed #expenciveplumber

This has been the worst experience dealing with a servicing call. First when you make an appointment they give you a 4 hour window! Ridiculous! Then they failed to mention when they call you 2 hours before the window, they remove your appointment if you don't answer. Once I called it took 3.5 hours for them to come. The servicing took an hour which they also failed to mention. I have missed an appointment that I scheduled waiting for the service. The technician was also sarcastic when he finally arrived. I would say that I don't have to deal with anymore, but they service and maintain the unit, so I'm stuck!

The customer service manager called me this morning and said they would send over a tech to revise. They sent the same tech which from the beginning asked if I had purchased the warranty. I said no and then he said that it would be $197 for a diagnostic. He implied that because I added a cover to the outlet I was the one who ruined it and that why hadn't I called earlier. I thanked them and will call someone else. Original service was performed in April and I called in May. It would of taken the tech 15 minutes to replace the outlet and provide great service but it seems that is no Longer a priority. The tech did step out to van so it seems he did get approval from superiors for outcome of this visit which shows that the poor service and lack of warranty is systemic. I wish the nice lady over the phone would have avoided me further humiliation and just not sent anyone and let me know R,s policy is as is no warranty. This was a 30 minute fix tech was over as a courtesy it should of been fixed instead of all this back and fort. It has now been taken care off by another company and took less than 30 minutes. I am thankful that I am only out of 300 as I see in all these Yelp reviews that people have much bigger issues.

Johnny,

I don't have any messages on my Yelp account, you've never tried to contact my phone nor have you left a voice message. So I'm not quite sure where you sent the message. I've already had the work done and quite honestly even calling you wouldn't change my mind. I had put this behind me until you wrote your update. Now you've really got me upset. You compare in an analogy how you would approach a sore knee. I get that there are many components to an A/C unit, however I had already diagnosed my problem with another company. I was simply trying to give you the business if your quote came in cheaper or comparable. Here's the kicker. I knew that it was the coils needing to be replaced. Approximately $3000 - $4000 dollars. Yet my unit was 14 years old and I was simply trying to avoid dumping money into a unit that had reached it's life expectancy. No matter what your tech would have told me, I had already decided to get a new unit to avoid future costly repairs. Had this been a 4 year old unit, or a 9 year old unit, I would have more than likely appreciated a second opinion, however when the life expectancy is 13-15 years and I'm in year 14, I just wanted a new unit to save time and hassle with future breakdowns. Do me a favor, and stop trying to play the uninformed customer card. I do my research, I don't jump the gun just get things fixed and I certainly wasn't born yesterday. The bottom line was that you were trying to over extend the customer service, and I can appreciate that, but what ever happened to the customer is always right? If I just wanted a price, why couldn't you just give me the cost? It's my choice, my money, my house and my decision. So now you've got your response and you've heard from me. Take your excuses and reasons for not just simply appeasing me by letting me know what you could do and stop replying to this. You did not get my business and you will not get me to change my review. Based upon other reviews, I'm not the only one. Just be grateful I gave you 2 stars and let it go. Work on your business tactics to perhaps ask more to know why your customer is wanting a quote instead of trying to shove down my throat that you want to make a service call and look at it.

Our old unit lasted 13+ years.  Three years ago when it finally died, we bought a new HVAC unit Costing $10,000.00.  It was all great until yesterday.  I came home from being hospitalized and it wasn't blowing cold air or sucking the hot air.
Long story short, the condenser went out.  The gentlemen came out and determined it was our duct system that caused the failure.  We were quoted various amounts and each time the price kept going up.  His final price was over $3700.00!!  This is does not include the condenser at all as it was still under warranty it was for parts and labor.  My question is:  why did your unit last 3 years and our old Generic one last 13 years???

I couldn't believe it, I heard they are the best, good customer service, I called them to fix A/C unit, they come on time, but the technician pushed us to make a wrong decision, he changed a piece of unit which was a new brand changed by Home warranty company just the day before, charged us 570$ saying we give you that as credit if you change the unit.(saying maybe works, but the other companies said it wasn't necessary)  He gave us 3 options but didn't give us a quote by email or written when I asked for it, said NO!!!
Then He took the new piece with him without asking, that piece cost between 100 to 300$. Should I call police???
We called Customer service at the beginning they said ok we take back the piece, give back the money, but next day, they changed their mind. So just we got back the piece(Capacitor).
The question is can I trust Them????

I was dreading our yearly check-up only because the serviceperson is also a saleman!! we purchased a whole unit for the price of a car, along with THE GOLDEN WARRENTY of 12yrs..ok my family told us we were foolish but we felt we wouldn't have to deal with anything for years to come.Well according to the serviceman that come to service our unit (every year)  we always need SOMETHING to add to our unit..of course we let them know we invested thousands of dollars into our unit and its only been 4yrs since we purchased it.makes us question our purchase .Some are pushy, some just remind us we can make it greater!! just would like to say we r very happy with our unit and the savings in our electric bill..just not happy with this sales pitch..every year..

AC REPAIR LESSON LEARNED TODAY... ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION
Today we saved over $1,200 by getting a second opinion. Jon Wayne repairman quoted $1,598 yesterday 10-30-19 and stated we needed a Heat strip repair kit. We called JB Heating & Air conditioning today 10/31/19. Their repairman just left after troubleshooting our HVAC system. NO heat repair kit needed. The JB repairman traced the problem to a wire that caused a relay to fail. Total cost today was $350. Their number is 210-316-0523
NOTE: I posted the above on Nextdoor neighborhood, (Timberwood & surrounding area). Out of 101 messages from my neighbors there was only one positive comment about Jon Wayne company
UPDATE:
COMPLAINT RESOLVED: I received a personal phone call from the owner of Jon Wayne Air Conditioning yesterday, Jonny Rackler.  He not only apologized, he also offered to send a refund check for not only his company's service call but also is sending a check for the $350 we paid his competitor . I appreciate his help and genuine concern in this matter. As a business owner I recognize that when you have well over 100 employees, as they do, a boo-boo can happen. Jonny helped to bring this conflict to a satisfying conclusion.  In addition to the above he told me he has called the employee who mis-diagnosed our AC issue in for re-training Monday.

Our home didn't have issues until after they left.  After they performed a service on our system, we had water leaking in the sheetrock, and the tech stepped on the sheetrock the next day when they showed up to fix the issue putting a boot hole in it.  It was challenging dealing with them to get the issue repaired and the mission statement on the back of the invoice doesn't hold true.  They didn't explain the service they performed while onsite, didn't give a written statement of what would be performed while onsite, and it looks like  we will be ending up in court.

run fast, run far!

Update 8/21/15 after speaking with  thier insurance, getting all kinds of run around and excuses, JW is now fixing our garage.  It was pulling teeth to get it done.  can't wait to never use this company again......

This company must have mostly first time customers.  Can't imagine them having any repeat customers.  On two separate occasions, I scheduled a service call with them.  Both times they called on the morning of the appointment to cancel.  They didn't even offer to reschedule a third time.  They obviously didn't want my business.  All talk (as reflected in their tv ads), no do.

BUYER BEWARE!

OK I was just going to let this go, but since you keep pestering me to give you a review. Here Goes: First when I called your place of Business I talked to a Meghan who was very nice and explained to me that for $79 dollars you would come out and give me a 21 point tune up that included cleaning my unit and flushing the drain on my unit. I asked because i knew that's what I needed to be done.So I made an appointment with her.  well on that day Dylan Fisher showed up late in the evening he came in my house and I showed him the unit... Now this guy had more patches on his uniform than a Doctors Office, but when he use a plastic zip tie as a snake to check my drain! I knew some thing wasn't right... Then he asked when was the last time and how often I changed my filter but did not change it? Finally he told me to sit down I thought some had died. Then he gives me and estimate for replacing my drain ( instead of cleaning it) plus an estimate to install a new very expensive ($100's of dollars per)  type of filter that only once a year. Looked like some thing you would install in a commercial building. (but he did not replace my $4.25 filter) when I asked why he said all he was supposed to do today give me the cost of cleaning my unit. but instead he wanted me to replace everything instead of cleaning it. He told me that who ever installed my unit did it wrong. He also told me the air return was to small for my unit and wanted to put a bigger one. Yet he did not put my old one back on??? That's when I realized those booties he put on his feet when he came in my house was so he wouldn't step in his own bull shit! This guy was a high pressure commission salesmen! He made the hair on the back of my neck stand up I asked to leave my house and he just kept trying to sell me. I had to tell him 6 times to leave my house! Practically threaten him! finally he left and I went to your Yelp page and saw this was  the norm for your company. Tons of bad reviews very similar to what happened to me. This tells me you don't care! That You like to hire Con men dress them up like a Repair men cover them with patches to make people think they are talking to a PROFESSIONAL! But little do they know they are about to be swindled by a snake oil salesman! Thank GOD I smelt the bull shit before it was to late! wish I had gone to Yelp sooner.  would have save me $79... so later I called a smaller company they came out and cleaned and flushed my unit for $50! So I signed a contract with them. All I can Say is BUYER BEWARE! It's places like yours that give mechanics a bad name and people don't trust them. I've seen your trucks around town for a long time so I guess you get away with it a lot I wish there was a way to warn more people about your company!

This group has done service work for my parents for a couple years. In general, they are competent so 2 stars. However, they are always overpriced and yet manage to make the folks feel like they're doing / getting amazing work. The last straw was a busted water heater that was going to take them an extra day to do and cost enough that I called around for a 2nd opinion. That group (well known & well reviewed on Yelp, not a fly-by-night group) showed up and fixed the problem that day for 33% less than the JW price. Also, do not pay to join the 'Rescue Club'. It's not worth it.

Absolutely horrendous service.
Jon Wayne came to service our unit on Monday.
Mind you the unit was working/cooling before the experienced technician  put his hands on it.
During the service the experienced technician damaged the valve stem and forgot to tighten the low and hide side valve covers.
Our refrigerant leaked completely out. Long story short - I was basically told by Jon Waynes management too bad not our fault. So I had to pay another company to fix the valve stem and put in refrigerant.
Rest assured we are pursuing all legal options.

This company was very friendly when they arrived but they completely ran up a list of unnecessary charges for the estimate.  The ultimate repair cost to fix everything to get it back to normal was $11,500.00!  Unbelievable.  We were absolutely floored.  We then asked the technician what the minimum would be to get our tankless water heater heating our bathroom water again.  The estimate, at that point, was $6,000.00.  Again, we were shocked and decided to get another opinion, obviously.

We called another plumber.  He looked at the unit and asked if we had reset the outside breaker.  We had not.  He went outside, reset it, and the problem was fixed.  He also educated us on the issues that can happen with tankless heaters, as did the John Wayne technician, but the private plumber did not even charge us a dime, even when we insisted on giving him something.

We felt this was very poor business.  This company has huge ads all over town and in the newspaper.  We understand, after our experience, how they can afford it.  If we hadn't asked for a second opinion, we may have spent up to $12,000.00 that was unnecessary at that point.

Very disappointed.  Shame on John Wayne Service Company.

The technician came earlier than the appt time which was good. My call was for a seasonal tune-up.  I have 2 systems therefore my rate was $59.00 each.

Technician was courteous and wore a mask.

My only real concern was how expensive this company appeared in its pricing. I expected to have freon placed in both the units, but placing freon (of any amount) is not part of the tune up service; therefore it is a separate charge from the tuneup fee. $90 a pound is what is charged. The total amount is confirmed as they actually get on the system and start pumping freon.  My bigger unit needed 4lbs, my smaller unit looked ok so went with only filling the large unit because this is getting expensive.  Allegedly my coils cant be cleaned because the grates are glued shut? Never heard of that and will most likely play with this myself this weekend.  They blew out my lines but could not guarantee that the flush was good because of the way the pipes are run.  Guess they go in a T shape and they recommended to add valves?  again never heard of this being an issue. They also recommended a flood protection system.  By this time, I just wanted my tune-up and freon and for that I was already sitting at 400+ dollars before tax.

This company has been around for a while so I was hoping for a better first impression especially in the pricing.  I own another house and have done this type of service numerous times, its not cheap, but these prices seemed a bit more expensive. I will shop around a bit more next time.

I called to get a quote on having my AC serviced since my home is 3 years old. First they tell you about this package is $600 marked down to $179. Then when I asked about my filter replacement they quoted me $105 for an Aprilaire model 410. This is a $30-40 filter. I asked the agent are you sure She was sure. Whoa mamma! The agent apologized. Even she felt guilty.

I needed an AC tune-up and decided to go with Jon Wayne, even after reading some of the reviews here on their flaky appointment scheduling.  I should have paid more attention.  I made an appointment on their online calendar for a 2-hr window and received a call saying it wasn't applicable for tune-ups even though it was an online option due to higher priority 'emergencies'.  I was told they were working to update their system.  I decided to go with an appointment the following week.  Almost 90 mins into the 2-hr window I received a call from them saying they needed to reschedule to another day due to other scheduling conflicts (paraphrased) and if that would be ok.  Of course it's not ok.  I had to take off work for this and they wait until the appointment window to try and move it.  They then offered to keep me updated on progress throughout the day to be able to come later.  I told them to forget it.  I told the guy I knew they were canceling for higher profit calls and that I had seen that called out in their reviews by others.  This is not how to run a business or attract new customers and judging by the 2.5 star rating, I'm not the only one.  And to Jon Wayne, don't bother responding to my rating with spin.  You have severe business ethics issues.

They are not honest. They will try to sell you things that you don't need. I actually was told that this company would be good and would give me a good deal. Just because it's a small business it doesn't mean that they are honest.

If you come from another State or moving to San Antonio DONT USE JON WAYNE!!!! STAY AWAY!!!

John Wayne has a nice website and they were easy to schedule.  However, we were very disappointed in their high pressure tactics when they actually arrived to fix our issue.  Here was our experience:

I was out of the country on business when my wife noticed a water leak in the garage.  Since I didn't have an international cell phone plan I used the John Wayne website to schedule service.  Within minutes I had an appointment with them to come repair the leak.

In the day between scheduling the service and a John Wayne repairman showing up my father-in-law was able to find the leak, which was coming from our hot water recirculation pump, which was its own separate system from the hot water heater.

When a John Wayne representative arrived the next day my wife spoke with him about the issue. Not sure if this is their standard tactic, but he immediately began pressuring her to purchase a tankless water heater system for about $8,000 (really?!).  He explained the pump needed to be replaced (for $1300) but that he recommended replacing the entire water heater system versus just the pump.  He also said a water heater our size (75 gallon) isn't manufactured anymore that would fit in the same spot and that a tankless water heater was the best way to fix the problem.  And, of course, it was the last day of a special promotion.  However, she knew better and politely asked him just to fix the problem with the recirculation pump, and that there was nothing wrong with the hot water heater.  After several calls to management the repairman was finally given permission to simply fix the issue with the leaking pump, which he did by removing the pump and splicing the line together with tubing.  However, he told my wife you'll be calling me back for a new hot water heater.  Sure enough, our water was taking noticeably longer to get warm (which we anticipated since the recirculating pump was gone) but the water was just not as hot and in some showers/sinks just barely warm, so we began to think there was an issue with the hot water heater.

However, later in the week we had a plumber from a different company at our home completing some plumbing work on a kitchen remodel and he needed to re-light the pilot light on the hot water heater.  I asked him about the pump replacement and he asked to see the pump the John Wayne repairman took out.  Guess what?  I couldn't find it anywhere so it was taken without our permission.  I also asked if there was a water heater on the market suitable to replace our existing heater.  He said yes, there was.  Finally, I mentioned to him about our water taking so long to heat up and some showers not getting very hot at all.  He found the problem: the hot water valve was left partially closed, reducing the hot water flow.  He turned it to the proper position afterward we actually had to turn our hot water heater setting down because the water was so hot coming out of all our faucets.

Shame on you John Wayne for trying to take advantage of our situation and 1. Attempt to high pressure sell someone an overpriced tankless system that was not even the problem, 2. Taking my working pump which probably could have been repaired and reinstalled (it had a hairline crack in the case) without permission and 3. Leaving the water coming from the hot water tank to be colder than it should have been...intentionally or not, it was left incorrectly positioned.  I would never recommend this company!

Deceptive sells tactics!  Compressor wasn't working. Tech said voltage absorption and distribution would need to be fixed in order to even check the compressor.  Cost $700+ and 2-3 hrs of work. Got a second opinion/company to come and they changed the capacitor in 5 mins. Everything works now.
My gripe is that the Jon Wayne tech had no mention of capacitor and I explicitly asked what the minimum it would take to get the ac working.

I have dealt with JW a few times for some repairs on house and normally the service is informative, prompt , and reps are courteous. However this last time though there was a flub up and what their rep promised to have done and what they were going to do failed to happen and I was left out of pocket $1000. Now I have no ceiling due to their mishap. All upper management said when I complained on their follow through was that they apologize for their rep's mistake basically and his misinformation and that in so many words it shouldn't have happened and they were wrong in the relay of information they gave me for the job instruction and how to proceed.

I had been advised by a professionally licensed home inspector that an open ground had been detected in the kitchen and garage and that 2 GFCI's probably needed to be replaced.

The technician arrived and took approximately one hour to diagnose the issues. He was prompt, courteous and very sincere.

Unfortunately, he is either a con artist or absolutely incompetant. His quote indicated that Wiring in garage is done unproper (sic) and is unsafe No Grounding. His recommendation was Replacing wiring or remaining wiring in garage (2) faulty GFCI. He indicated that the base price for what needed to be done was $1,547.00 and that additional work was most likely necessary at a rate of $300 per hour for 2 technicians.

I called another licensed electrician who came out to the house, confirmed the home inspector's diagnosis and made the repairs - simply loose connections in a few locations. Total charge came to $125.00. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the GFCIs or wiring in the garage.

BEWARE: It would appear that this company may have employees who are incompetant OR that try to take advantage of consumers by overcharging for services and making unneeded repairs under the guise of making the home safe again. Very very disappointing.

Returned my call for service approximately 10 days after I made the initial contact requesting help with an ac unit that suddenly and unexpectedly stopped working. Had no AC in the house and requested an advisor to quote for a complete system, condenser, coil, and furnace. Never heard back. In the meantime had 4 other contractors come out evaluate my concerns and offered solutions. Ultimately choose a professional company with a great parts AND Labor warranty. Couldn't be more happy with my new Carrier unit. Sorry John  Wayne maybe you have more business than you can handle or maybe I just fell through the cracks, but my family needed relief from the heat and humidity all through STAR testing and in my opinion you all failed miserably

They didn't show up, I gave them all day to make it to my home.  The receptionist didnt even know my name, they were only pulling my appt up by an address instead of my name.  Horrible customer service, lack of attention to detail and personable customer service.  They called me at 3:47 and asked whether or not my home had a warranty which i do not know why this is any of their concern if the home has a warranty or not when all i scheduled was a service.  They received a loan from the government to cover their operational expenses so COVID 19 is just a crutch if thats what they are going to blame for their technician not showing up to my home.  I would look elsewhere, for the sole reason of lack of personable skills from their service receptionists.  They didnt even know my name.  Fucking ridiculous when they want you to spend upwards of 4k dollars for systems they install.  I dont see this company surviving the pandemic.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE GOOGLE REVIEWS, THESE ARE MORE ACCURATE. First did not come out with part and was SPECIFICALLY ASKED TO DO SO. We already knew the issue, it was a $6.96 gasket piece for a Kohler toilet. I guess they assumed we were stupid and good to be conned because they asked to see our water heater...for a toilet issue....why??? They then found a VERY minor leak and wanted $1200 to fix both toilets and the water heater. $600 for replacing two gaskets alone. It gets better I went to home depot bought the two gaskets and replaced them in less than five minutes each. Today I get a call from the worlds most argumentative client manager who has ZERO business calling people who are already pissed and then arguing with them. Premier service uh expensive, premier, hardly. The best part was we already had the one connector on the water heater replaced, it was $125 when a LICENSED plumber replaced that, they want $600 for the same EXACT replacement of the other one. Four dollar part...and 30 minutes...do not be a sucker and use these guys, IMO, worst than a unethical mechanic.

Zero rating if possible. Bought a outside unit 6 years ago and noticed it was making noise, but the a/c was still working,so i decided to be proactive and have it looked at before summer hit so we wouldn't be without a/c. Thinking it was still under warranty i called Jon Wayne. Turns out they tell me a capacitor went out and i only had a 5 year warranty on this Bryant system they put in so it would be $357 to fix. Mind you my a/c was still working, just making noise. The wife said he just took the check and left after repairs. I get home to a 81 degree house after 12 hours work. She doesn't understand the controller so she put up with the heat till i got home. Also she has bad health problems on top of this crap. I called back and they sent the same guy out. When i got home i found the controller left on fan.....for 6 hours till i got home! He got there and said the a/c was working fine when he left. So i told him how is that possible when it was left on fan and my wife said you took the check and left? Never went upstairs to reset the controller? So he came back and said the compressor grounded out. Of course i blew up. Long story short they declined any responsibility and said it would be $4100.
Had a second opinion done. Found panel with the wiring with signs of being shorted. Even cracked the plastic cover. I was standing right there when he removed the cover and saw it. He showed me immediately. He said that would cause my compressor to ground out. He spouts on his commercials being from San Antonio, but rips them off.

Just had a complete new AC system installed to replace my original system.  Had 3 estimates and by far Jon Wayne was most detailed and professional with no pressure sales tactics.  Best move I ever made.  New system is quieter and saving me money on electric costs.  All at a very reasonable price.  Install went quick and no mess left behind.  Highly recommend.

Jon Wayne and team are always very professional and courteous. They do top notch work every time they come and always provide great details on how to continue keeping our A/C in great shape. I appreciate that they don't pressure me in any way to buy something and break it down it what should probably be done soon and what is nice to have.

On time, professional, and descriptions/explanations are thorough + easily understood. Both AC and heat are significantly less expensive than with my previous unit. Scheduled maintenance is very helpful - I do not worry about problems with the system. I am extremely happy with Jon Wayne and recommend them most highly.

They are just awesome!  I have used them for numerous plumbing issues amongst other things.  They also installed my a/c system.  Their customer service just can't be beat: courteous, polite, and knowledgeable.  They wear booties over their shoes to protect tracking anything in my home and even clean up after which I appreciate.  I have been using their service for about 8 years now and will continue to use them in the future.  I highly recommend Jon Wayne Heating & A/C and in fact, have told many people just how great they are.

Let me start by saying that our initial problem was that our outdoor unit would turn off in middle of the night and never turn back on (no matter what we did) until around 3-4 in the afternoon. We also pay monthly to be a valued customer and have normal services done.
1st visit 5/17/19- Juan came out in the afternoon after the unit had came back on, and still evaluated the problem. He suggested that we replace thermostat, stating that our thermostat just wasn't reading correctly.
2nd visit 6/2/19- Juan came out again. It did take a while to buy new thermostat, so we called to have them come install. He then stated that our unit outside was not working because of a low voltage wiring. In the invoice he states that he took apart wiring and fixed the short in the system. Now, reading his report in the initial visit he stated that our unit was three years old, then this 2nd visit he states our unit is five years old. This visit we paid for the fixture of the low voltage.
3rd visit 6/3/19- Unit outside still going out at night and then not coming on until later in the afternoon. Robert has come out this time upon request of a different service guy. This time a time delay was noted on the outside unit, stated possible vault in outdoor circuit board, but no mention of a low voltage problem. (recommendation) Circuit Board- $628, High voltage distribution system- $238, and and surge protector for outdoor unit- $478.
4th visit 6/5/19- Unit still not working. (same issue) Ryan came out this time. He noted an electrical fault in outside unit, and low voltage problem again, which was supposed to have been fixed by Juan on the 2nd visit (according to his notes). This visit we had them replace the circuit board (which turned out to be under warranty through manufacture), and the fixed low voltage wiring. We paid $300 for this visit for parts, warranty processing and labor.
5th visit 6/6/19- Unit still not working (same issue) This time we asked for a supervisor and was sent Jonathan. Who diagnosed it as the circuit board, again this time stating a high voltage causing it to troubleshoot. He replaced the board, and after explaining everything else he did not charge us for labor this visit.
6th visit 6/10/19- Unit still not working (same issue) This time we had Jacob arrive. The problem now was that the unit had turned back on and he noted he could not recreate problem and he reprogrammed our thermostat.
7th visit 6/11/19- Unit still not working (same issue) This time Jacob came back out. He says the control board was not working properly. We have already had the control board replaced twice now. He states a low voltage problem in wiring, which also has been noted was fixed twice now. This visit he quoted us a - $1,700 bill.
After seven visits we decided to call for a second opinion. The guy came out today after the unit not turning on at all after the day that Jacob came out last, so two days with no ac, 87 degrees. The guy comes out and turns out that out outside ac unit was never turned back on properly by Jacob and we did not know because it was on the inside of the unit. We talked to the highest manager at the company that would pick up the phone after asking to talk to the manager for two days, that's why we waited to call a different company thinking the owner would fix the problem after seven visits and no resolve. Nope, this company is about money, not the customer satisfaction, or quality of work.

My A/C went out on Sunday. I called Jon Wayne and the lady said they were all booked for Sunday and the earliest appointment was for Monday at noon. My family wasn't happy they had to spend a day without central air but Jon Wayne is who serviced it before I bought the house.

I call Monday at 10am and the scheduling lady didn't know of an appointment for today. I was upset but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and had her send someone or call me with a new appointment. No one called it was now 1pm. I called back and Jon Wayne had nothing in their system for an appointment today. I CALLED 3 TIMES and no one entered an appointment to look at my A/C unit.

I love how they answer the phone with, How can I make you smile today. How ironic!

TERRIBLE!!!!

Last week my ac stopped working and a tech from John Wayne came out to fix it. He was right on time and even called ahead so I was expecting him. After checking over the whole ac, he pointed out several problems it was having as well as the immediate issue, which was that a lizard had shorted out the electric on the outside unit. With each issue he talked about he showed me the part and took photos as well.  After he checked everything he gave an estimate to fix each part individually as well as gave a quote on how much it was to just get the system going again as well as a quote on what a new system would cost (my husband had requested that info) which I appreciated. As it turns out my husband decided that we should consider getting a new system and got several quotes through the week and John Wayne was the best deal. So this coming weekend we are getting a whole new ac installed and I will update if I have to change my stellar review. The tech has gone above and beyond making himself available for any questions and stopping by to fill out paperwork too. I would definitely recommend their services to others.
-UPDATE: I just had my one year service checkup and am absolutely glad that I signed up for the club membership.  A small monthly fee is definitely worth the $396 in savings that I had just from replacing the UV light, filter and an outside coil! The technician who cam to my home was professional, friendly and helpful. I am very glad to have chosen Jon Wayne for our AC and water heater needs.

My 20 year old ac finally dies in March 2018. I called Jon Wayne Air and stupidly let them talk me into buying a 10,000.00 system. Included with that price was a service contract for a year so in Feb 2019 they came and serviced the ac. They tried to sell me another 1 year service contract for 240.00. I declined because it was just too much money. Aug 30 2019 my ac quit working so called them and they came out on the 31st and checked my ac. They were going to charge me 600.00 plus labor to replace the starter and capacitor, or I could sign up for another contract at 240.00. Sound fishy? You pay 10 grand for a system that doesn't last a year and a half and they want to stick it to you. Beware of these con artists.

We have a gold service contract with this company & paid a pretty penny for the unit.
We placed a service call around 7pm because the unit stopped turning on & we were hearing strange noises coming from the unit inside earlier in the day.  I have my small grandchildren staying with me for the week & it was very hot in our two story home.. in fact when I talked to the operator it was 80 degrees, she stated they would have someone out to check it... 15 mins later a young female who is the scheduler calls back to say they can't send anyone out until the next day... after I told her the temperature was now 84 degrees downstairs & 88 degrees upstairs & that the operator told us someone would be out the same evening her response was she shouldn't have told y'all that????? I explained that I have small children & the heat was unbearable, she said she would try but we were probably not going to get service until the next day.. she stated she would put a priority on the service call.  After an agonizing night we are told a serviceman would be in our area sometime between 11am-5pm!!!! It is 3:28 pm & 84 degrees downstairs as I write  this review & my husband just got off the phone with the service department who stated the serviceman will be here shortly he's coming from Helotes Tx our area??? Really Helotes Tx is over an hour away... I am very upset with this company... this is not the first time we have experienced this type of bad service but heat exhaustion is no joke & what's worse is that I couldn't even leave the house because I had no idea when the serviceman would show up... please consider carefully before choosing this company I will call & complain to a Supervisor for sure...

I called to have a water heater replaced in my home.   They were able to give me an appointment in 3-4 days.  The workers arrived on time, masked, introduced themselves and began taking a history.  The lead technician, Christopher was polite, informative and was able to give me an estimate within 15-20 minutes.   Our old water heater is easily accessible in the garage.  I already purchased a new heater and had it there in the garage as well.  Christopher stated there were several options on installation/ service plans etc.  I asked him for the least costly and he quoted me $2,400 as the cost-cutter (his words) option.  $2,400 to install a $400 appliance I had already bought on my own.  He stated he have to mount the expansion tank (already installed) a new circuit breaker box (heater already own its own breaker).   Understand the $2,400 did not even include the appliance itself.  I told him this seemed excessive, all I wanted was the heater replaced.  He asked me how much I expected to pay and told him $900-$1000.  Once I told him that, he asked how I would be paying for the $29 estimate fee.  I thanked him, paid him, he left quickly with barely a word spoken there after.  After about an hour of searching, I found the phone number of a local self-employed licensed plumber I had used about 3 years ago.  He remembered me and my wife and agreed to come over that day.  He arrived about 3 hours later, installed the water heater in about 3 hours.  He charged me $280.  We were so grateful we gave him a 20% tip, paying him $350.  I won't ever be calling these guys again, and I'll let any one I know with plumbing issues, my experience with them.

Our AC was out for two days. The fan was blowing but no cold air would come out. After trying the few things I and my husband and dad tried to do, we scheduled an appointment with Jon Wayne. Right away the guy was very nice, but immediately began telling my husband about other things that needed to be fixed with the system, before even finding the current problem. Finally, he told my husband we needed the dual voltage absorption system replaced. Go ahead. Google that. Almost every post had something to do with someone being scammed by the person trying to fix their AC. I was at work while the technician was at our house with my husband. I googled it up and even called another AC friend who all said that the dual voltage absorption system doesn't exist. My husband asked the tech where he could by the part, he said I am not sure, I just get it from my supplier. Google again, and all of those people who were scammed said that their AC tech replaced the capacitor. Go to an HVAC forum and search dual voltage absorption system and enjoy your laugh for a few days. Anyone that says this is a real part will not post a picture, because it is in fact, a capacitor. I do not appreciate my lack of knowledge regarding HVAC being taken advantage of by a company that will willingly charge a customer $300 to replace a part that doesn't exist, instead of being honest. I also don't appreciate being told that the system needed an additional $3000 in maintenance work after I found out the lie about the dual voltage absorption system. No way will I agree to all of that nonsense! They were nice, so they get 2 stars, but they will still take advantage of your ignorance.

I was quoted by Jon Wayne $3,300 to replace our evaporator coils. Shocked by the price, I asked the service technician to give us an itemized quote (parts and labor separated out). He said that he couldn't do this as this was against company policy. I then called the office and customer service assured me they would get our tech to send us an itemized quote. The technician called back telling us the same thing. I then called to speak with a manager and was told they wouldn't give us a quote showing parts and labor as this was not how they did things at Jon Wayne.

Per the a recommendation from a friend, I called Air Texas. They came out and gave me a second opinion free of charge and only charged us $1,500 to replace the coils.

Please be very careful when doing business with Jon Wayne. Do your research and know how much these repairs should cost. I suggest they present quotes with parts and labor itemized to serve as transparency for the customer.

We wanted to have our AC serviced before the heat of summer began and also signed up for the annual service. The service tech was friendly but did not finish the job and thought we may have a leak in one of our units. He stated he would reschedule to come back out and test for a leak. The follow up appointment was cancelled due to the techs equipment not working. He told us he would call back to reschedule. That was a month ago and we have not heard from him or Jon Wayne. We are patient but this is not impressing us and we are questioning our purchase of the annual service contract. We'll update our review when the tech decides to reschedule.

These guys tried to gouge me something fierce today. I had a leaky condensate pump, simple replacement of the pump was solution confirmed by the technician.

I looked up the part by model number on amazon, $45. He wanted $600 for the part and install. I politely asked him to breakdown the price of the repair for the part and labor, HE REFUSED! I asked him to show me the pump he was going to install, again HE REFUSED! He could not and would not justify his $600 price tag for this job.

I went to Lowe's, bought a replacement pump for $72, and it took all of 15 minutes to install (The technician quoted me 1.75 hrs for labor on this replacement) /facepalm.

I think he wanted me to pay him $300/hr to go watch Netflix in his truck!

Justin Bandy and George spent many hours at my home in the freezing cold running wires,  grounding my house and prepping for a new electrical panel.  They were polite, considerate, professional.  They went out of their way to make sure I could keep working at my job while they did all of the electrical to make my home finally safe. I want to thank Jon Wayne.. specifically Jonny and our technician for the air conditioner, Abel.. the just replaced blower and thermostat malfunctioned.. I emailed Jonny Rackler directly and he replied immediately. I received a call from a very sweet young lady a few minutes later and within a couple of hours Abel was at my house. We have air and it's operating correctly. Abel is very professional and kind. He was informative and I believe, honest with his recommendations. I thank Jonny for turning our experience around. Bottom line, I really believe Jonny made a big effort to turn our experience around and he was nothing but professional and sympathetic to our feelings about the initial service experience (with the tankless water heater). I did pay the fee for follow-up services for this year and I believe we will continue to have positive experiences. Thank you Jonny and Abel and to the young lady who helped yesterday morning (I didn't get her name)..

I have a couple of circuit breakers that trip randomly, even when there is no electrical load on them. Called John Wayne on Tuesday and scheduled a service call for two days later (Thursday). I agreed because their service fee was cheaper than anyone else's ($29). Three hours before they were supposed to come out, they called and said their technicians were on an emergency service call and wouldn't be able to come out until the following Monday (4 days later), and I agreed because they offered to waive the service fee and give me $50 off the charges. On Monday, the technician arrived one hour later than the scheduled window. After testing the amps and determining that the breakers had gone bad, the technician quoted me a price of over $700. I asked how that broke down between parts and labor, and he stated that they don't break down their quotes that way. I know the breakers are only $75 on the high end and $45 on the low end, so the labor would be assumed to be over $500 for maybe an hours worth of work. John Wayne Electrical is very over priced. Don't let them fool you with their cheap service call fee.

The service technicians from JON WAYNE were very detailed in the explanation, They're open in answering the questions even if I don't know much about air conditioning. Total ripoff and scam. They were one of 3-4 AC companies we had come out to give us opinions on our AC. I knew I had to replace a unit but the lowest option they had started at $16,000. Not only that, they sell their units as packages that they name but don't disclose the brand you are getting. They knew we were getting multiple opinions and refused to leave anything in writing. We were only able to look at the proposal and they took it with them and would not leave it upon our request. They said they didn't want someone undercutting them. Seriously? They were the HIGHEST priced of all companies who came out.

We ended up going with Climate Control who sold us a TRANE model of greater efficiency than the unit we were replacing for $4,500. It works great and our bills are lower. We got what we NEEDED.

I cannot say much nice about this company. I had them replace the faucet in my upstairs master garden tub, which also required cutting of a panel. The entire repair cost $2439.95.The repair resulted in a tub that leaked and damaged the dining room ceiling below. Had to argue with them to come over and fix it ASAP as ceiling had extensive water damage. They gave me a bit of a rebate ($300) only after I pushed back when tech said they probably wouldn't cover it.  I was also enrolled in their emergency plan which is supposed to give me priority service. I had to schedule draining of my water heater a month out because that's the earliest they could get there. On that day they called saying guy was running late. Amazingly he did show up before the 4 hour window ended. During his inspection he loosened something under one bathroom sink which didn't leak but now drips. Today I took off 4 hours of work for a 1-5pm appointment, an appointment I made on Tuesday afternoon (today is Thursday). It's after 7:30pm and they haven't shown up. They called before 5 saying tech is behind and lady on the phone sounded like she hoped I would cancel. I finally did call off the appointment before 8pm as it concerned water pressure and required outdoor work, which I doubted they'd do in the dark.  My job in the department of defense requires on average 22 weeks of travel a year; so it's important to me that folks show up and do proper work during the few weeks I'm in town. I do intend to warn folks about this business the next time someone tells me they are moving to the SA metro area. I will be calling to cancel my enrollment in their program and will take my business elsewhere.

ATTENTION CONSUMERS: Also note the manager response on all of the reviews. Note that the company is not ever wrong. They always put a spin on the reviews. This is a huge sham and a warning sign as well. This company is truly a high pressure sales company in disguise. It is never their fault for coming to your home in a time of need and trying to rip you off by offering items that are not needed. Another AC examined my system that I recently repaired and stated all was well and in good working order. Again, the manager responses and the shady sales techs should be all the warning you need to stay far far away. There are legit companies in town. This is not one of them. To many bad reviews to think otherwise. Another note. My neighbor actually knew a sales technician that worked for this company and quit because of these unethical practices.

Looked at all the reviews and saw good and bad, so decided to take a chance and call Jon Wayne.  What a wrong decision.  Explaining my Electrical problem to the service desk I was told there was a $29 diagnostic service fee, which I was ok with.  When the technician came out and heard the same problem and stated that the diagnostic fee was $129??  The bill he gave us has both of these diagnostic fees: $29 as just a Service Fee and $129 as an Advance Diagnostic Fee.  While the work performed was very good, the add on chargers were outrageous.  In addition to the diagnostic charges, added $49 to do the work and $68 for the Electrical outlet that he replaced (which costs about $10 retail, talk about a high markup).  To be fair we were given a Military discount of 10% off the inflated prices.

I can not believe all of the negative reviews on Yelp. Yesterday at 5:00 pm our compressor stopped working and I thought for sure we needed a new compressor. In a panic I called JW at 5:30 and got ahold of an extremely nice service agent. She told me that they would have someone at our home between 8 and 2pm today. I thought that was fast for the hottest day of the year so far. Then I started reading all the negative Yelp reviews and thought I would get screwed and almost cancelled the service call. This morning I had decided to call another company for a second opinion just in case. But at 8:00 this morning we got a call from JW that a tech would be at our house at 9:00 and then he showed up 10 minutes early. Our lead tech was Abel and after he diagnosed our situation he gave me a comprehensive report. I thought here comes the you need a whole new system and $8000 replacement cost sales pitch that I had read in Yelp reviews. Well I was surprised to find out the compressor was fine just all of the electric components and the compressor fan were fried and needed replacements. I am really glad I didn't cancel the service call because by noon we were up and running.  I was told we still should have several years left in the life of our system. Our tech was named Abel and he was a true professional in every way. BTW I didn't need to call the other company for a second opinion as I thought the price quoted by Abel was more than fair and reasonable.
Thank you Abel!

My elderly mother called to get an estimate on the repair of a light fixture in the spare bedroom of her house.  When the serviceman left, she contacted me to say he took an awful long time and mostly sat at the table writing the estimate.  It turns out he had recommended $17K worth of work to bring her 1950s home up to modern electric codes (in spite of the fact that there is no city requirement for this to be done) and he actually had the nerve to 'let' her pay in advance, by charging her credit card, for the work to be done later this week.  After I made three phone calls, took three hours out of my day and had a talk with a manager, I got the charges removed from the credit card, canceled the appointment for the work and lectured the manager on not using hard-sell, high-pressure sales tactics on the elderly, and that he should train his people thusly.  He insisted it was her choice to pay in advance and authorize the 'bring up to code' work.  I explained that the whole experience had the feel of a scam.  I will be at the bank first thing in the morning to assure the charges are not made to the card and I will never allow Jon Wayne to step foot in that house again.

I wish that I had read these reviews before I had my wife contact this company to come and work on our a/c. A simple fix has become a major ordeal.
Our system has had a slow leak in it for a few years. About every 2 years we need to get it charged up and then it operates just fine. This year the process has not been that simple.
I was out of town at the time our system stopped cooling so I had my wife contact Jon Wayne to come out and charge the system. She called them and they promptly responded to charge it. All was fine for about 3 weeks when all the sudden it stopped cooling again. The tech came out again and this time said some of the wiring was bad. I found this to be awful suspicious as it has never been a problem before. However, I told my wife to have them repair this to get it going again.
It worked fine again for a couple of weeks. My wife went out of town for a few days and came back to water dripping from the ceiling. A neighbor checked on the problems and found the drain to be clogged and water overflowing the drain pan. Along with this issue, our evaporator coil was now freezing up as well.
So to make a long story short... I now have a messed up a/c system that I need to get replaced, a few water stained walls to fix, and a bathroom ceiling that has to be replaced.

This company will never work on anything in my house again.

Overpriced, deceitful, and negligent. Stay away!!!! Plenty of other plumbers in the San Antonio area. Don't fall for their slick and flashy marketing.
After dealing with the manager Mark, I adjusted my review. He did the right thing despite not acknowledging that the initial job was handled poorly.
That said, they are still extremely overpriced.
Where most plumbers charge an hourly rate approx $80-100, seems Jon Wayne is Ala Carte with the simplest of jobs still double that for 15 min jobs.

After a few years of receiving above average service from Jon Wayne, we had a terrible experience with a recent service issue and the follow-up to the management team at Jon Wayne continues to be ignored.

The technician whom showed up to conduct an assessment on our air conditioner provided the diagnoses and performed repairs on the unit and noted that the repair was temporary and the only true remediation would be the full replacement of the unit at a cost of over $9k.  The service technician (Brandon V) provided guidance & a recommended that we should sign a maintenance agreement that provides additional protection in terms of additional costs for future service visits from Jon Wayne at a cost of $15 per month.

Here is where the fun starts and my concerns begin.  It is clear that the service technician from Jon Wayne flat out lied about the repairs and in fact at the time of servicing our air conditioning unit DID NOT perform the repairs as noted on the the service worksheet.  Additionally, the service technician took liberties to sell a secondary product that drives a high-level of profit for Jon Wayne and provides little to no value to the home owner.  We had another company come out to provide a second opinion on the replacement of the air conditioning unit, as the unit offered by Jon Wayne is a second tier solution   The second vendor noted that the air conditioning unit did not require replacement and when reviewing the Jon Wayne invoice & recommendations; in addition to stating the repairs that were invoiced had never been done.  I have contacted Jon Wayne to discuss the $15 maintenance plan  and have been 100% ignored after 4 phone calls for support; at this point in time I need to recover the $15 payments dating back to the original service date, cancel them going forward and I am mandating a refund for the services.   The customer service, the misrepresentation of facts, and not following up on my complaint directly is not acceptable.

Spent 15 minutes replacing a $25 part and when I received the invoice in large letters it said no warranty or guarantee!  What kind of business doesn't guarantee their work at least for 30 days?!

Horrible service from these people.  They only provide a 4 hour window for appointments and kept me waiting on Day 1 from 1-5pm.  I called at 4pm and they said they were delayed.  They finally called me at 6 pm and said they could not make it.  They scheduled for Day 2 from 9am-1pm.  Another 4 hour window. The plumber showed up around 11am and was more interested in up-selling me a water softner and water heater than fixing my toilet.  Quoted me $300 to replace the flush mechanism ($12.99 at Home Depot) and the hose ($8.97 at Home Depot).  Never use these guys...they are way over-priced and do not provide good service.

I paid $99 for someone to come out and diagnose why my system is not cooling well. I was given a laundry list of (minor) problems, but absolutely no solutions or recommendations other than replace the entire system. It's currently working and was running before their visit, but the tech did nothing. The system is 9 years old, which is not particularly old despite what some people might tell you. I was repeatedly told how the original installer did a bad job and didn't do things right, but again no solutions were offered. If you want business, offer it with a price. I'm still sitting here in a hot house wondering why I paid $99 to have someone say yep, it's not cooling too well. Tell me something I don't know. I suppose next time I get the itch to call a professional I'll instead light a $100 bill on fire and at least know that I'm the one screwing myself and not someone else screwing me.

These guys are crooks. Stay away from them. Do not let them touch your AC. If you don't have a serious problem when they arrive, they will certainly manufacture one and charge you 10+ times for parts. I encourage anyone who has used them to look at their receipt and google the price of the parts.

Not a professional company...do not use.  I requested an estimate on a job.  Upon arrival, the tech quoted me a rate.  I asked for the written estimate and he informed me that they do not leave written estimates....shady???!!!  I don't know ANY company that doesn't provide written/emailed quotes!  Additionally, the rate was extremely high.  Finally, they quote a SIX hour window for service.  Why do business with a company that doesn't stand behind their product and leave a written estimate?  Why do business with a company that is priced above market and doesn't value your time?  There are other plumbers listed on Yelp...

I would like to give Jon Wayne 10 stars if I could. My air conditioner in my newly renovated house went out and I called them immediately. They sent a person within 24 hours to come look at my air conditioner ( I was not a prior customer but they treated me like one). This person took his time to look at the outside unit and inside unit and explained the problems I had. He even took the time to show me on his phone what the problems were after he ran several tests. He recommended a new system and offered to connect me with someone to explain the specials they had.  By the next day, another person named Josh Estrada came by the house to explain all the systems they have and what my options were. We even discussed financing in great detail.  I agreed to purchase a new system and we did the paperwork and financing.  He promised to come the next day with his team (which was a Saturday).  They all came by 9:00 am on Saturday and started working with the team (Jose Rodriguez, Carlo Avendano, John Gomez, James Taylor and James Bukowski).  They were all so professional, courteous, careful, friendly and quick.  By 5:00 pm, I had cool air, and electrical work, insulation and could not be happier.  I even received a call the next day from Josh asking me if everything was good. They are a wonderful company and I would highly recommend them. I am in the customer service industry and know how important it is to have a happy customer.  I am truly a happy customer. Thank you Jon Wayne team!

I am very happy with our new AC unit.  We have had a few issues with the ERwire connection but JonWayne service has come as soon as they can to fix the problem.  What I mean by soon is usually the same day or next morning which is outstanding in my book.  The last time a flap was installed which appears to have fixed the problem for good.  Thank you for the great customer service!

Three years ago we decided to go with Jon Wayne to install a new HVAC system complete with new ductwork.  They have been good in coming for the routine maintenance on the system, the most recent being in February.   Last night the system quit working so we called for service at 7 am today, Friday.  We were told that all technicians were busy but they would try to get somebody out today.  Now we have been told that for sure no technician is available today (at 7:55 pm).  We have been told that we are on the urgency list for tomorrow, however if there is nobody available, somebody will be out for sure on Sunday. At this point, this has made us regret the decision to go with this company.

The week of Thanksgiving my husband contacted John Wayne Heating and Air Conditioning to come out and inspect our unit because the heat was not coming on. The representative did his inspection and before leaving showed my husband a picture of a mold covered coil. The rep sent my husband a quote to have the unit cleaned and it was 3-4 THOUSAND DOLLARS and of course we could always replace the unit.
The problem with this is the picture was NOT from our unit!! My father came over with some cleaner to help clean the coil, and he reported that the coil looked like NEW!!!
I had another company come take a look, and the problem is a motor that has gone bad. Never once was there a comment about mold in my unit or a that I will need to purchase a new unit!!!!
Be very careful with using this company, waiting for a trustworthy company will be worth your time and money!!!!

Jon Wayne replaced my gas hot water heater and also sold me a water softener both with a long annual service agreement.  I was told that both were the top of the line and there were none better on the market.  Installation was done in a day with no noted problems.
Water softener stopped working after about 7 months but was repaired by service call.  No problems.
I now find both the hot water heater and the water softener are over the counter types with a Jon Wayne sticker and a much, much higher price tag.  In short I was over charged.
This overcharge is my fault I should have done my homework.  Bottom line is if you do business with Jon Wayne you will be overcharged.

We got a new a/c inside and outside by John Wayne in 2013. At the end of the, 2015 the Freon/coolant had run out. We had another a/c tech come out and recharge it. In 2017, the a/c controls in the hallway, that had a Lifetime Warranty had started to have problems. I called to have someone come out. The lady who answered said it would cost me Between 26.00 to 75.00 for a new one. I got upset and asked about the warranty and a man got on the phone and was rude and told me That was just for the service fee. So no, lifetime warranty really! That is a lie! Finally, in 2018 the starter went out and froze the unit making it inoperable. We had another company come out and install another new unit inside and out. Remember, this unit from John Wayne is only five years old. The whole time we had John Wayne a/c in our home, it never cooled off below 76 degrees, ran continuously and our electric bills were always 400. to 500. a month. The new companies technician discovered that the Plenum a covering in the inside unit that goes to the ceiling was not attached properly to the roof and had a huge opening into the attic/roof and had been letting hot air into the house all these years. Shoddy workmanship! My husband had asked them to be sure that this plenum was attached properly during install. They did not. That explains the high energy bill. We were shocked and angry. My neighbors that have gotten a/c from them have had problems as well, within the first few years of installation. Save your money folks. These people are rude as hell and don't care about customer service.

I had an appoint with a John Wayne rep today with the understanding to get a complete estimate for a new AC system.  The first thing out of the John Wayne employees' mouth after introductions were, are you ready to make a decision today?  I said no I always review the documents and look up reviews on the product, etc.  I want to take a look at the model numbers and see how some hold up better than others.  That is when he informed me, they had a company policy which states they DO NOT provide written estimates.  I told him are you serious, who makes a 5k+ decision and not receive a written estimate.  He goes on to say, well they have specials that change every two weeks, and different promotions, etc.  I said that is wonderful but what does that have to do with an estimate? My pay check stays the same every two weeks.  I knew where he was going, I saw their approach was going to be a pressure sales approach.  I mean who doesn't give someone a written estimate?  I told him, we were done.  My interaction lasted probably less than 3 minutes and he was on his way.  I just though the whole thing was quite honestly strange.

BEWARE! I've been dealing with Jon Wayne for three days now with no A/C, and I'm just beginning to realize the depth of the issues with this company.... I've been talking to Ken, who told me he was a supervisor filling in for a manager who is out. As I just read through these reviews, I see that they are all answered by Ken, who is listed as a Business Manager. There is also one review listing Ken as a manager of the Finance Department.  Either Ken is a very popular name at Jon Wayne, or Ken holds MANY positions at the company, OR it's a pretty transparent scheme.  I feel very sorry for the people who gave good ratings here and are happy with their purchase, because they probably paid way too much.
I called Jon Wayne because they are the ones who installed our system 6 years ago, just over one year before we purchased the home. The previous owners were elderly, opted for the cheapest they could get (according to JW), and still paid over $9k.  One of the neighbors told me they were often targets for large companies, and overpaid for every service they received the last few years.  This is so sad.
Anyway, our A/C started vibrating on Saturday evening, so I called first thing Monday morning, and they couldn't come until Tuesday.  Ray came out and diagnosed the problem, and also told me we had grossly insufficient air return for the size of our unit, which could likely be the cause of the failure.  I pointed out that JW installed it, so they should have installed sufficient air return.  Who would offer a warranty on a unit that they know is not getting the correct amount of air? Ray was very nice and helpful.  He spent 30 minutes on the phone, then came back and told me that management would get back to me as soon as possible.  Meanwhile, I needed to leave the air off to prevent further damage.
I called back early Wednesday morning, and was told I would get a call soon. I called back Wednesday at 4:45 pm and was told I would get a call soon. Ken called me shortly after, apologized, and said they would send another tech out the next morning. (Why would they need another tech? Sounds like they need another pair of eyes before they admit any fault.)
Thursday morning, a Senior tech, Abel, came out and confirmed the diagnosis. He told me he had actually sold the original unit to the previous owners who told him they were putting the house on the market, and wanted to spend as little as possible, since they were selling, and that's why they declined to install another return. Thankfully, I had spoken with the owners when we purchased, and I know they weren't planning to sell until a few months prior to listing the home, when it became a necessity, NOT 14 months prior, as Abel claims.  I promptly called a neighbor who is still very close to them, and she confirmed Abel's story to be completely untrue.
In addition, he gave me a $1000+ quote to repair my unit that likely failed because of their negligence, and repeatedly tried to get me to join the Gold Club, or whatever they called it. I snapped a photo of the chart he showed me that listed how proper air return for each unit is calculated, but when he showed me a price list, he would not let me take a photo, claiming it was proprietary information. The price list!
When I called Ken to express my disbelief and outrage at the fact that his tech had just completely fabricated a story, he proceeded to explain to me how 10 years ago, they didn't even know what effect air return had on a unit, and six years ago, they might not have been taking that into consideration yet. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? In 2010, one of the largest HVAC companies in San Antonio didn't know how much air intake a unit needs to function properly??!!
At best, this company is unknowledgeable and exorbitantly overpriced. My suspicion, however, is that they aren't being completely honest (DEFINITELY not in my case), and are taking advantage of homeowners who don't know any better. While four days without air has not been fun, it's worth it to find out the truth before I gave them a cent of my hard-earned money. I called another company as soon as JW left, and they were here within an hour with a quote for the same work at almost half the cost.
Ray was great, and I hope he will find a job somewhere else. Ken was very nice, as well, but it seems that his job is smoothing things over at JW by handling the upset customers, and judging by the number of bad reviews followed by his vaguely apologetic excuses, he probably stays pretty busy. The Duke would be disappointed.

I absolutely love Jon Wayne Heating & A/C.  I use them for plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning.  About 3 years ago they installed my large a/c unit.  However I had a small unit (which they didn't install) but since I had a problem with it, I called them and as usual they were just incredible.  Rudy (the technician) is so good, I just can't say enough positive about him.  He explains what he is doing and why which I really appreciate.  I have been using their services for about 3 1/2 to 4 years now and absolutely will continue to do so.  I highly recommend Jon Wayne Heating & A/C to others for all their home needs.

Although, I haven't had anything done lately - Jon Wayne is a great company, with great service, and you guys deserve to know about it. I have recommended them to friends, and will continue to do so.  Jon Wayne does my plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning.  Although electrical technician tried to talk me into work I really don't need to have done right now, if at all.

I too was ripped off by John Wayne AC company! Requested a tune up and was told the DVA part needed to be replaced and it was vital to keeping my bill down. My husband wasn't here and said yes. $400 later I looked online for anything about the cost and the need for a DVA part and couldn't find anything!!! I stopped payment on my check and will only be paying for the tune up!!!! Stay away from them!!

I could not agree more with the previous review. Be very careful when using these guys as a matter of fact I would say don't
I called them a few years ago because the ac went out and liked the name and the guy on the phone sounded nice and told me about them being honest and dependable as most people associate then name with the actor and honesty and integrity.
It turns out the problem was a circuit breaker had gone and the tech telling me how dangerous it was and how it needed to be replaced and that he did not have one but would go and get one he showed me the price and I was blown away over $300 but not knowing any better I agreed.  Then came the push to use there quarterly ac service. Which I declined   . Come to find out that they charged me over $200 dollars for a part that costs $40 at home depot.
Run a mile from this company

Just FYI.  We called them to come out and service our furnace for the winter.  The guy said he found a gas leak and something else wrong.  Not saying those problems weren't real, but talked to my mom yesterday, she had had them come out to service her furnace as well a few days back.  She lives on the other side of town.  The technician also told her that she had a gas leak.  Instead of the $79 to service the furnace, she paid $256.  I guess there's not much you can do if you don't want a gas leak, but my mom's house is like 50 years old and ours is 8.  Funny that we got the same diagnosis from the same company.  UPDATE:  79$ service call, final tally: $552.  Probably because we live on a more affluent side of town.  Caveat emptor.

I'm giving a 2 because the salesman was nice. I wanted a major overhaul of my system.  So I priced out with this company because a friend had used them.  They would not leave the bid, which went up the next visit, because I think that is a ploy.  Never had another company do that.  So I called a couple other companies for the same work.  This company was double the other two.  And to top it off I got a much better system as well.  I would say I saved 50% and bought a new car with that savings!

At the end of a hot day in August 2013, my AC stopped blowing cold and by 7PM it was 80 degrees in the house.  I called the number on my AC unit from when it was installed, and Jon Wayne Heating and Air Conditioning answered, as they had purchased the number when the other company went out of business.  They could not come that night but could send a technician to perform an 'evaluation' between 8AM and Noon the next day for $29.  I agreed.
The next morning, the AC unit was mysteriously working again, and the house was back at 72 degrees, but I still wanted the evaluation.
The Jon Wayne AC tech showed about 12:20PM.  I was anxious, as I had a meeting scheduled in Austin at 3PM, and needed to leave town by 1:15-1:30 at the latest.
He spent 50 minutes in the evaluation, then showed me that my AC unit was very clogged inside, and used a geiger-counter kind of mechanism with lights to say I had an area leaking freon, so the real need was to replace the entire coil.  He said he needed to go out to his truck and arrange an estimate for me.  I let him know I needed to leave, soon.
While he was estimating, I called my realtor, as I planned to put my house on the market the following month.  The realtor said if the coil replacement estimate was more than $900, to call his source, and he gave me an alternate AC contact.  I also looked online for coil replacement costs, and the consensus was that depending on the size of the unit, it can run $1000 to $2200.
It was 1:15PM and the Jon Wayne tech had not come in, yet, so I went out to him.  His estmate was for $4225!  As this was more than twice the highest I had seen in my research, I paid the $29 and sent him on his way.  He did offer a simple 'air movement' service for $1260, before he left.
I called the realtor-referred AC person, and he BURST OUT LAUGHING at the quote for coil replacement from Jon Wayne Heating and AC.  He sent a tech out, who also evaluated and quoted me $430 to remove the unit and completely clean it out and re-install it, and said since I am selling, that should be fine.  If I wanted to replace the coil, the total, including cleaning, would be $860.
I scheduled the cleaning and they arrived on time and the unit is working perfectly.
BEWARE Jon Wayne Heating and Air Conditioning having you at their mercy on a hot day when your AC is out!

just poor service all the way around, my unit went at at 7 pm on Friday called and they said someone will be there between 12-4, not only did I have to call them after the service time that was giving to me but then they had the ordasity to tell me someone will be there (again) between the hours of 12-4 because all the techs were tiedup, so not only did I have to suffer again for another day with no air in my house but not soon after I got off the phone with them I witnessed 2 John Wayne trucks at the local gas station not even 3 min from my house, this type of business needs to ran a lot better then advertise

Where is the 10+ star rating when you need it? Why the negative reviews I have no idea but John one of the techs came and installed a Nest thermostat that no matter what I did couldn't get it working... He was here for over 3 hours before finding out the idiots that lived here before had the C wire all screwed up. I am so grateful John fixed us up and found the issue! He NEVER gave up he just kept working and trouble shooting... I just kept folding clothes... he was amazing and he would communicate with me through out the job on what he was doing and found along the way... I didn't understand anything of course but he didn't mind explaining and even braking it down easy for me. Like this coke can thingy that disperses the energy around the AC unit... Let me know all the info about it even though I didn't know what it was. I will always call Jon Wayne when I have any other concerns about my HVAC!!!!

I have paid 36.95 a month for 4 yrs to have Jon Wayne come out twice a year to do maintenance and keep the system that we paid 10k for in condition. They changed the contract without telling us and now say it is once a year. Now my compressor is out and I called to get a service tech out. I had to leave a message and no one called me back. An hour later I called again. She, Christine said she would have someone out and call me back and tell me when they were coming. With no call back I called again. Josh now says no one can come out until tomorrow. I will be filing with better business bureau. Don't pay for the rescue servicemonthly fee!  Total rip off!

Good try!! You did not replace our refrigerant. In fact, your experienced sales guy tried to sell it to us and we said no since we were getting your wrongly advised new unit. Does that mean you did work to our unit without our approval?? And thanks for refunding our $500 deposit, but we spoke to the manager on Monday and TOLD HIM we were canceling our check. That was never even offered up by your company to give us the money back. Nicely written, but too late.

I had a representative come to my home at my request based on a TV advertisement.  Steve came and spent over an hour looking at my system and calling someone for assistance as he was unfamiliar with why something was done.  I was not at his side the entire time.  He quoted me an outrageous price of $35,000 to replace my 2 units.  Completely unacceptable and I would have complained then, but didn't think it was worth my time.
Shortly after I noticed my downstairs unit was not cooling so I turned it off thinking I had major issues since it is an older system.  The upstairs united was working fine until about a month ago and it quit cooling.  Due to finances I was unable to call anyone in sooner to see if it could be fixed.
I had  someone come in last week and was told that someone took the wire-nut off the wires that control the automatic shut off switch for when the water pan is full - for the downstairs unit.  They also tested for leaks and found only 1 at the outside unit where the connection to the Freon line was loose.  He advised me that over time this could happen but after finding the wire-nut off upstairs he felt someone has sabotaged my system.
The only other person that had any contact with my system was Jon Wayne.
I have called and received a callback from their office but only to tell me I am wrong.  No investigation was or will be done and the Salesman is no longer working for you (makes me wonder if this didn't happen with others by him).  I have no alternative but to think this was done by him.  It has cost me $500.00 to have the Freon replaced.  I find it very unsatisfactory that their immediate response is a flat denial (which I am not surprised by), but some compassion would have been appreciated - possibly an apology that this happened to me and that they will investigate, insure this doesn't happen again (or that it didn't happen), but to outright dismiss my allegation is unsatisfactory,
I feel that Jon Wayne owes me the $500.00 I had to spend to fix this situation.
PS - I did try to post on their website but kept getting errors and could find not email address other than the website IT address to advise them of my complaint.

I would rate them lower but there is no other option.

They are incredibly unresponsive when needing help.  My husband has handicap issues and not having our AC functioning, after only 2 years, is unacceptable, especially late August/early September.

Customer service is not their strength, they seem not to care about the customer.  The best way to make money is all they seem to care about.  You seem to have to force their hand to get them to do what they should.

The man that answered the phone was unwilling to locate the status of the warranty on my unit and stated a service call could not be scheduled until Tuesday-today is Sunday.  Then after I had another company come perform the simple repair they called to say my unit was under warranty and they could come make the repair.  Until they realized I was taking my business elsewhere, they were unavailable.

If I had not been in the position I was in when upgrading my system I would not have used them.   And when the time comes to give a recommendation regarding them when asked by anyone I guarantee I would never give a positive one.

I called this company on Saturday for HVAC service. Their website says that they respond usually within an hour (well that is not factual). I was told by their answering service that they had no one available until Monday. I did not schedule in hopes of finding someone to address the issue over the weekend. I found someone who was going to charge a little more for the service call so I decided to wait until Monday. I called Jon Wayne back on Monday morning and was told they did not have any technicians available until tomorrow (Tuesday) morning from 9am-1pm. I scheduled the appointment waited all day and received a phone call at noon to tell me the scheduled technician was running an hour or so behind but they would send the next available technician.  2 hours later still no one showed up nor did I receive any follow up information so I called back only to hear multiple apologies. The operator continued to tell me that she did not know when a technician would be available because they were on big jobs. I could care less what they were doing they need to honor their word and take into consideration that my husband and I lost hundreds of dollars waiting for them. I canceled my appointment and will never use or recommend this company to anyone.

Just received excellent service! We needed service on a day they weren't open but we left a message and they got back to us within the hour. They weren't able to come that day but they set us up for an appointment first thing the next day. I had called multiple places to set up an appointment but these were the only people that actually had good customer service, everyone else was rude and made my issue seem like an inconvenience to them. Jonathan Sanchez showed up in the cold rain and did a spectacular job! He was incredibly helpful and fixed all of our issues! :)

A year later and I would have to say that I'm completely disappointed in the service (or lack there of) that I recieved yesterday with this company.  During my initial visit from Jon Wayne last year,  I purchased some so-called VIP package from them which was for them to come out twice a year and make sure my unit was working properly.  My preventive maintenance  appointment had been scheduled for about 2 1/2 weeks for 12-1 pm. Appointment day rolls around,  12-1 pm rolls around and nothing...Ok, I'll just wait at home and see when they show.  The company doesn't call until 3:38pm to say they're running a little behind and my house is next.  So I wait some more... and some more...6 1/2 hours after my scheduled appointment time,  they finally call (at 6:47 pm, it's a little to late now so I'm definitely not letting some stranger into my home at this time) so I'm just going to consider it a loss.  It's disappointing because my initial review was rated so high but I guess you have to spend thousands with this company in order to recieve good, timely service.  I'll look somewhere else for my AC needs.

I've had multiple exceptionally bad experiences/outcomes with Jon Wayne at two different houses.  Several years ago after a series of errors and poor workmanship by multiple Jon Wayne technicians I ultimately needed to replace an entire system that was only 6 years old.  During the course of that experience I had a service manager sitting at my kitchen table that initially refused to speak to my friend with prior AC experience that I had asked to be present for the visit.  It was completely unprofessional and an egregious violation of customer service 101.  Given the history of poor workmanship leading to progressively more and larger problems as well as the unacceptable customer service I experienced, I used a different company to do the new installation and swore off Jon Wayne for good.  I did not leave a review at the time, hoping this horrible experience was an aberration for the company and not business as usual.  However, now years later in a new house, I made the mistake of calling them back since all the HVAC units in this new house had been previously serviced by Jon Wayne.  Mistake.  I called to request their seasonal tune-up and new filters for my 3 units.  All units were completely functional for the prior year ahead of the Jon Wayne technician's arrival.  After 5 hours, the technician left my wife recommendations for two thousand dollars worth of repairs and upgrades.  My filters had still not been addressed and one of the units was completely nonfunctional after the visit leaving all my children's rooms at a very uncomfortable 87 degrees for the night.  They were not able to help me again that day despite very clearly being the cause of the malfunction.  I scheduled an appointment for late the next day since I was going to be at work until then.  They initially accepted the appointment time.  However, the next day they called to tell me they were not able to accommodate that time frame because it was too late.  When I voiced my displeasure at this the operator insisted that I had refused repair recommendations provided by the technician somehow suggesting that it was my fault I wouldn't have air conditioning for an additional day because of my difficult work schedule and ignoring the fact that I had completely functional systems before they provided their tune-up.  Outrageous.  I cancelled the appointment and called a competitor who was able to accommodate my schedule.  It was against my better judgement for me to have called Jon Wayne back.  I would very highly recommend anyone else shop around and use an alternate service provider.

Yea, they replaced an old unit of mine, with  a new unit  in 2012.  Then last year, I had my unit checked and the repairman told me that the unit was to big for my ducts and insulation. I asked them why this happened and the salesman seemed less than forthcoming.  I blame myself for not getting a second opinion. I feel that company has an aggressive sales force, but, I can not complain about the quality of their work..That's why I gave them a 2...

They give you a low heat tune-up so they can charge you for things they think needs to be fixed. My heating system is 7 years old and has been checked every year without any problems. Today he found over $4000 worth of things he thinks need fixing. What a scam. They must need the work!!!!

We have two units and our upstairs unit was not cooling. Tech from John Wayne came out. We ended up having a leak in one unit and that was the only unit looked at. Really did not do any technical testing or pulling off panels to look at what the cause could be and NEVER looked at the actual unit we called about. Tech gave us a $8500 quote to replace the entire inside and outside unit. My husband had to go up and look at the downstairs unit before installation and realized the quote was to replace our entire downstairs unit - the tech never even looked at the upstairs unit!  When my husband called to get another evaluation before installation , the tech blamed him and said you pointed me to it.   Seriously!  Who is the professional. What if I showed him the water heater!  Bottom line is we received a quote to completely replace the unit that was working. We would have spent $8500 and still not had AC upstairs. More discouraging is the Tech threatened that we would lose our $500 good faith payment even though the diagnosis was BS. We requested to speak to a supervisor. No call back from a supervisor 12 hours later.

Taylor took great care of me and made sure I got an appointment right away.  She even called back after the service to make sure everything went OK and to see if I had any additional questions.  Troy was very professional and even put up with all my questions!  In this day when service sometimes seems non-existent, I really appreciate the service John Wayne provides!  They definitely know how to take care of their customers!

We had such a good experience with Jon Wayne!! Our AC broke in the peak of heat of July. We had a home warranty and were trying to go through that to get our AC replaced. The customer service was awful and it was such a slow process. It took a week for the claim to get approved. We decided to cash out of our home warranty and find our own contractor. I found Jon Wayne based on awesome reviews on google. I called them and was so impressed by their customer service and attention to detail. They set up an appointment for someone to come inspect my AC problem. I loved that it was an appointment, not a 4 hour time window that I was expected to be home for, even though they may not show up til after. Kevin showed up promptly for the appointment. He was polite, friendly, and explained EVERYTHING to me. He was thorough and detail-oriented. He went above and beyond and measured my whole house to ensure the AC unit was the right size for an efficient system. He found that we needed more return air and suggested we add a new return air vent. The crew that came and fixed it were also polite and friendly. They did a good job. They scraped up some paint on the trim of the doors next to the attic. The day after they completed the job someone called to see if I was pleased with their work. I told them about the paint that had been damaged. They sent someone to come fix it about 2 weeks later. I am very pleased with the product and customer service! It's more expensive than competitors, but I think it's worth it due to their extensive knowledge, thoroughness, and customer service!

They did not hit the window of time that they designated. When called no consolation was given as a result of the missed schedule.

Update:  After seeing post I was promptly followed up and offered consolation because of the time I waited.

To say rip off is an under statment.  I called them to come out to fix my unit.  They told me 8-12.  At 2pm I called and supprise I was next.  After getting the call it was another hour.  Upon my protest they did knock off the 30 dollar service call.  He diagnosed my problem as being a leak in the compressor.  This was a full warranty part.  After taking what seemed like an hour of sitting in his van,  he came back with an estimate of over 2,200 dollars to replace the compressor.  400 dollars alone for 6 lbs of colant.  Mind you the entire unit cost me less than that 2 years ago when i had it installed.  I found another company that came out and replaced it for 300 and 100 for the coolant.  I find it discraceful that they take advantage of people in a bad situation by alluring them with low monthly payments.  Pass them up in my opinion.

When taking reviews into account, you may want to judge a company on people that have actually used them! That being said, I had to have the entire AC unit replaced on my residence that was approx. 16yrs old. The original unit had been patched and rigged to run as long as it could by the previous home owner. Previous owners electric bills in the $400 range during summer to keep the home @ 78 degrees. I had three companies provide quotes and recommendations. Jon Wayne was not the cheapest, but had the best plan of attack and warranties. They arrived when scheduled and installed the new highly rated name brand unit, interior & exterior. They checked the air ducts for any signs of distress. I totally left it up to them to tell me the condition of the ducts. They said they were fine and did not need any work or replacement. I could have easily been told that I needed those replaced too, and would have never known the difference!! They were honest!!! The install went fine, the service guys are very professional and courteous.  I have had the unit for over a year now, and my home stays @ 72 degrees in the warm months. Largest electric bill so far $168.00. They included free attic insulation with the purchase! They have very affordable financing options through a respectable lender. I have had a couple of issues with a UV light on the unit burning out prematurely, and they have upgraded to a better light at no cost to me. Situation resolved!  I highly recommend you shop them when in the market for a total unit replacement.

Wow - having read some of the previous reviews I'm wondering if we're talking about the same company.  Our A/C went out yesterday morning and the temp inside was climbing.  When it hit 79 degrees at around 1:00 I called Jon Wayne Air to ask about getting a service call scheduled.  The gal on the phone was very pleasant and said she had a tech who could be here before 4pm.  They called me about 20 minutes prior to the tech showing up to say he was on his way and Jason arrived somewhere just short of 3pm.  He was very pleasant, professional, and although it had started to rain he got to work looking at the units both in the attic and outside.  After checking out the units, he offered us several options for repairs, allowing US to choose which option we wanted.  He explained every option in detail, going over all points and when my husband asked what Jason would recommend, Jason responded that it was really up to us and how much we wanted to put into the unit.  He did NOT try to sell us the most expensive repairs, but rather simply explained what each option entailed, which we appreciated.  After we selected our plan for repairs, Jason got to work and had the unit up and running, putting out cool air within about an hour.

Maybe the negative reviews had to do with poor technicians, but we had a very good experience with this company yesterday and with the technician.  After having another A/C company tell us we needed to spend $9,000 for a new unit back in May, it was a nice change to have a company out that didn't try to sell us the biggest, newest, most expensive thing they sell.  Based on our experience yesterday I would definitely recommend this company.  They guarantee their work, give you discounts for future purchases and offer a variety of plans for maintenance and repairs.

Some of the techs do a good job the only problem I have with this company is when the tech finishes the he wants to sell you other services,I think they should do the job and ask the customer is there anything else they can do,most of the time the additional services they want to sell you is not cheap.

Never got service! Called on Tuesday and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday for between 8 - 12 paying a premium emergency service fee. Got a call at 9:30 AM verifying appointment and confirming I could pay for it.  Never heard from anyone. I called at 1:30 and was told the guy was running behind, and she confirmed I had an appointment for this morning and the fee was $59.00 (normal fee is $29.00). At 4:30 PM I still had not heard from ANYONE from Jon Wayne; so I called back and canceled appointment expressing my disappointment in their company. THEN I get a call from Jon Wayne apologizing, and said my appointment got changed to Thursday!! Wasted my whole day in a hot house. The hype on the television ads are just that: all hype, no service.
Called another company recommended to me and got an appointment in a hour and a half, and a call from the tech guy within 20 minutes. Should  have called the other guy first.

I called John Wayne last night when my heater stopped working. The technician was scheduled to come out this morning between 8 and 12. I got a call at 7:45 saying he was on his way, he did not arrive until 9:30. Which is fine, because it was well within the given time frame, but it would have been nice to know I had nearly 2 hours until he would actually be at my house.
Now onto the repairs....I had trouble with my heater the previous week. At this time my husband (who is in the electrical field) replaced the transformer that cost $30 from Agees. What he didn't know was that there was a short somewhere in the system, which ultimately caused the transformer to go out again. The John Wayne technician told me that it would be $580 to find the short and replace the transformer. He told me the transformer alone costs $400 through John Wayne. It's a $30 part, people!! When I asked him why it was so much he said, I'm selling my service, not discounted parts. I hate to tell you, but you wasted $30. At that point I paid the $58 service fee and went on with my day. I will be calling Agees on Monday.

I had a problem with my outside unit.  Jon Wayne was the first company I called.  They told me I needed a whole new system and it would be 25k.  I then called several other companies for estimates.  In the end I spent 3k for new outside unit and didnt experience any problems after that.  No other company even suggested I needed a whole new system.  This company deserves a negative star rating. It seems their business model is to over sell to the maximum extent possible.

they came into my home for a estimate on upgrading my unit.  JJ didnt even ask me what I wanted to do nor did he want to look at my unit until he finished his sales pitch.  He was more worried trying to get me to agree to their service instead of trying to put something together for me.  Tried to sell me a product that was $18,000 but wouldnt tell me what the brand name I am paying for.  The one thing that pissed me off more then anything he wanted to talk about financing before we came up with an idea of what I wanted and what needed to be done.  what a scam artist.  very unprofessional.  Save your sales pitch and build report with the customer first JJ.  You never start with a sales pitch.  Know your customers better before you even think about asking for info like social security number and all that.  I cant believe he had enough balls to talk about calling the finance companies to get approved before we even talked about products.  What a scumbag!
