Fox Services came on Nov. 27th and installed the gas plumbing for the backup generator I bought on June 2, 2021.  (It's been a long hard road getting to that point.)  When they turned the gas back on, it blew out the regulator which was probably 43 years old.  They told me to call Texas Gas Service and they would come out quickly and install a new regulator.  They did, but the technician from Texas Gas told me that he couldn't turn the gas back on until the city inspected the new work.  I made several calls back and forth to Fox Services and Texas Gas Service and finally got the plumbing manager at Fox Services who said that all Texas Gas has to do is turn off the additional valve isolating it from the system, and then turn the gas back on to my house.  

Texas Gas said, no, they cannot turn on the gas until the plumbing is inspected.  We went overnight without heat, hot water, or use of the stove when the temperature outside was around freezing.  Somehow the Fox Service plumbing manager was able to get a city inspector the next morning within the hour to inspect the plumbing and the gas was turned back on.

On Nov. 27th, Fox Service ran an electrical line through our attic to the breaker box.  On Dec. 1, Fox Service did the remaining electrical work on the outside breaker box, the city inspected it, and Fox tested the generator, and it worked!  On Dec. 3rd, my wife found that her therapy pool which she uses for exercise because of a bad knee had no electricity.  As it was the weekend
Fox could not send Dominique, one of the electricians who worked on hooking up the outside breaker box, until this evening, Dec. 5th, to diagnose and fix the problem.  Dominique worked for an hour and a half and finally discovered that the problem was that both the breaker and surge protector for the pool were broken.  Dominique replaced both and now we have electricity to the pool.  Dominique said that he had never encountered this before.

I am extremely grateful to Fox Services for their methodical, professional, and responsive work.  I am especially grateful to Dominique for his ingenuity and ability to think outside the (breaker) box.

Called Fox, as they are a a certified specialist for my instant hot water heater. First representative was very pleasant, asked a lot of questions and said they'd have someone out the next day to fix it.

The following morning, get a follow-up call. Second representative says: we don't have any availability, and won't for the next two weeks. Says there are no notes on what I needed, and wanted me to provide all of their details again. No apologies, just attitude.

If you like a run-around and explaining yourself multiple times, then this is the company for you.

So glad I found this place on Yelp! Our technician was amazing. So knowledgeable and helpful. We had three different people come out to quote fully replacing our switch board and Fox Service by far had the most reasonable quote. They were able to come out the day of to check it out and then that same week to get it replaced! I couldn't recommend them enough.

I called Precision (who is also now Fox through a buyout?) to service my AC.  They sent two technicians, one of who was very nice and the other not so.  The nice technician said up front that it was too cold to get a good reading off the AC, and I offered to set another date.  The not-so-nice technician insisted it could be done by wrapping garbage bags around it.

They were already out, and the not-nice one was insistent, so I let them look at the AC unit.

The nice technician got to work looking at the units in the attic, and the not-so-nice one started asking questions.  During the conversation, I mentioned that I had had trouble over the last couple of years because the refrigerant was low, and they were able to add some, and it worked fine.  The not-nice technician immediately started talking about a new unit without any diagnostic effort saying that the cost of a new unit might be cheaper than putting refrigerant in.  He said that even if it worked, the hole is likely bigger because they grow over time, so it would likely fail anyway.

It felt like we were in a verbal jousting match and ended up with the not-nice technician going down to look at the outside unit.  He looked at it briefly and pointedly noted that it was missing a sticker that goes right here.  (It looked like he was pointing at a random blank spot).  He said he would have to start putting the refrigerant in and weighing it out because there was no sticker on the unit.  I guess there is no way in today's age to get from a model number to information about the specs of a device.  

At that point, I was done.   I paid their service fee and asked them to leave.  The parting words from the not-nice technician were, We wouldn't put in a unit for you anyway.

I still don't know how a garbage bag would help, but there you go.

I had a great experience with Fox Service Company yesterday.  My 20 year old double wall oven has been going in and out for about a  year.  I had someone come about a year ago to service it and he said he couldn't repair it.  They no longer make 23-3/4 wall ovens so I couldn't replace it unless I tore up part of my kitchen.  My son-in-law told me about Olin Torres with Fox who repaired a ceiling fan for them and asked him if he would look at my ovens because they were very impressed with him.  Olin came over later in the day and looked up the electrical requirements for my old ovens.  He showed me the very corroded breaker (50 years old).  He replaced the breaker and tested the oven with both turned to 500 degrees at the same time for about 15 minutes and the breaker never tripped.  They now work beautifully and I'm so thrilled to have my ovens operating again.  Thank you Olin Torres.

Hard to say how the service is, no show, no call, no email on scheduled day of service.

I lost power to one of my condos (fortunately the tenant recently moved out). In a scramble I called Fox because I have seen their trucks. The woman on the phone lacked general intelligence or was very distracted because I had to keep repeating my situation, where the box was, that I was a condo not a home etc. Seems like she also didn't know how to schedule either, or at least someone didn't want to service my job.

Maybe one day they will call back and apologize, but by then I hope to get the power restored by a more reliable company.

Had an a/c issue and the a/c tech found it to be an electrical issue, so Fox was called since they're a sister company. Good thing is they didn't charge an additional flat fee for coming out. More stars for coming on time, being courteous, etc.
The 2 lost stars are for the cost. The problem was a broken wall switch in the attic, and that was it. Replacing that switch cost $160. I know things have gotten expensive but this seemed beyond reason.

Got a water heater inspection scheduled with them. Jason came over for the initial inspection to check things out. The water heater I had in my house had been unused for years due to the house being vacant before I had bought it. After about 5 minutes of having it on, he found that mineral deposits were burning in the heating element, causing the breaker to short.

Jason said he could come and fix it first thing tomorrow morning, and he wasn't kidding. Luckily I work from home, and I was able to let him into the garage to do his thing. I really appreciated the sense of urgency from him, as no hot water is something I would rather not have lingering...

Within a few hours, Jason installed a brand new water heater and a few extras to help with the longevity of the heater. While the price was a bit high, I knew it was not going to be a cheap fix. The efficiency of Jason made it more than worth it. I can take hot showers now. What a blessing.

Replaced an a/c and heating unit this week. Glass and Forrest were prompt, professional, courteous and cleaned up nicely afterward. It's because or people like this that I've using Fox for over thirty years. I highly recommend!!!

Wow. Called and asked if I need to reschedule because I had airbnb tenants in until 2p. They said no, they will stop by after. Of course, they showed up at 1p and got turned away. Then proceeded to charge me 49 dollars...not to mention it was supposed to be 39. Then when I called, no refund issued. Unbelievably bad.

On March 16, 2002 I called for a kitchen drain to be cleaned out. They could come the next day.

When the guy got here and heard us tell the history of drain clean outs he was immediately saying the drain may not be able to be cleaned out. My husband told him that the last time they had to get a smaller snake to get around the bend in the drain. Apparently he didn't think my husband knew what he was talking about. As the guy would go outside to his truck (for equipment?) he would sigh heavily as he went to the door. I suppose the sighs were to tell me what a lost cause my drain was or how hard he was working. He tried a couple of times to get his too big equipment through the drain and then said I had a broken pipe.

$247 later he left without clearing the drain. The reason for the 2 stars is because he took some money off the bill.

I am happy to say that we did not have a broken pipe and my drain is now cleaned out since our plumber used the correct sized equipment. He actually tried a different size when the first snake would not go through. What a concept, when one thing doesn't work try another!

I am editing this review after I received a call from Kendal about my review of my service call. After explaining what happened during the service call and how the drain was successfully cleaned out by another plumber he said he wished I had called him, they would have sent another technician out to try again. He is refunding $150 of what I paid and asked that we give them another try in the future. I appreciated his call and of course the partial refund. I amended my 2 star rating to a 4 just on his customer service phone call.

Please, mind you, I am not writing this review rating the quality of service because I never got any. They could be the best in the entire nation and I wouldn't know, so if you are here trying to figure out quality, then jump to the next review.

Honestly, I spent three hours calling HVAC/AC emergency services from 12-3AM nonstop on a Saturday night, Sunday morning. Bad time for your unit to go out if you want emergency service, I guess, because I got one callback that night (from Apex) and one quote from another company that wanted $500 to come out and look at some wires. Radio silence elsewhere. I called every single company that listed emergency services in Austin or any surrounding area that serviced Austin. Nonstop from 12-3. Not an exaggeration. If you want a screenshot of my phone scrolling through a bunch of random numbers, I am happy to send the proof. Call one number, leave information with an agent for on call person to call back, call next, continue. I considered leaving a bad review for every single company. But, ultimately, Fox took the cake. Congrats.

I am not sure what someone defines emergency as or what emergency response time means, clearly. To me, emergency means you are having a heart attack and need an ambulance right there. In the AC world, emergency, to me, means you have any number of circumstances requiring immediate return of service. For me, making sure my AC was running before the sun came up could have been life or death for the dogs that I board and train in my home, or my own. If that sounds dramatic, I know several people who have had dogs die in their homes after their AC went out and they did not realize it was climbing closer to 90° inside. It takes 15 minutes for a dog to overheat and die.

So why does Fox get the privilege of the review? A lot of companies called me back that morning. Apex had taken care of me within 20 minutes of calling, so I didn't need anyone anymore. Morning was not acceptable to me but at least it was something. I think I received maybe four calls out of 20+? Cool.

It's a day and a half later, and I get a call from Fox. A day and a half. For an emergency call. A day and a half. A. Day. And. A. Half. In what world that is an emergency response time, I do not know. But I do know every single fucking dog in my home would definitely be dead 10 times over right now and that's not exaggerating. If I wanted standard service, cool. Thanks for calling. At this point, you are a joke. This is a slap in the face.

At the end of the day, I've come to realize that everyone in Austin needs to remove the word emergency from their website if they cannot offer emergency services. Please do not come back at me with, we were very busy. I call BS on that. Even if it were true, a call back saying, hey I won't be able to come out tonight, here is my next available space, would have been better than what happened. Take the words 24/7 off of your website. I know that it's really just a ploy to get people to call in and leave information because 24/7 just means that their on-call system is open. I am sure every single person was dead ass asleep. Why people can't just be honest about that, I don't know. But it would have saved me some goddamn trouble if there was any information about actual availability times.

Thank you for the dead dogs, Fox. Don't bother calling. If you have an emergency, anyone, try Apex.

Jeff came out today to fix a light in our closet that kept burning out. He called ahead to let us know he was coming, showed up on time. Explained and fixed the problem. I would definitely recommend there services. Great job.

Worst service company. The technicians are just car mechanics.
I called in for a HVAC inspection on a home I was purchasing. Ideally, one would expect a summary reporting issues, cost to fix/replace etc. The guy just played with the thermostat and walks out saying he cannot estimate the cost to repairs, and that its the job of a project manager. And he still had the courage to charge me $99.
Never going back again. Precision AC - You just lost my business too for sending me such an incompetent technician.

Current review: 0 of 5 Stars if possible. HVAC replacement + zoning system (motorized dampers + control board + extra thermostats) installed to replace a functioning, but old Lennox system in a two-story house. VERY expensive. It took four trips over a period of 90 days to install the correct dampers for the zoning system. That's just the beginning! The zoning system doesn't work--it directs all air downstairs and virtually _NONE_ upstairs. Five additional visits to correct the installation. All failed. At this point, the answer was to disconnect and disable the VERY expensive zoning system. Repeated calls result in a I'll forward your message to the person in charge. All techs were nice and personable, but the installation and service is abysmal.

Just wanted to let everyone know if you need any help with running faucets or running toilets Fox Servicee is top notch. We needed service from them and they sent Shawn Dunlap. The gentleman was very courteous, efficient and respectful of our home. He arrived at the appointed time and did an awesome job. I would Highly Recommend him for any help you need.

I would never recommend this company. I have an 8 year old tankless water heater (Navien) that showed an error on the tank. I called Fox Service to come out, next appointment a week from call, they were listed as an authorized Navien service (a loosely supplied name) provider.  They came out and deducted they need to order 1 or maybe 2 parts.  The serviceman was here for maximum of an hour, after having called some older, probably more experienced colleague to confirm his assessment.  The service call charge, $256 (again their hourly rates are $156.  Later in the day I called to find out when the new parts would arrive.  Ryan, the serviceman said his supplier hadn't given him a date, they had no stock and it could be 1 to 2 weeks. I called Navien, spoke to a representative who gave me the 2 parts #'s to required, this took a less than 5 minute phone call.  I ordered the parts online. I called Ryan to say I had ordered the parts and her immediately told me his work would not be warranted with parts I ordered.  I said no problem. The minute I hung up I called to schedule him back to install the parts and the earliest Fox could schedule someone was next Wednesday but they wanted Ryan to return since he started the project, one day later on Thursday.  I agreed, I felt like I would really be overcharged with a new serviceman.  I received the parts on Tuesday.  Ryan came today and installed 1 of the parts and said the other part was the wrong one, even though the Navien rep said it was.  Luckily it was a part that was required since the water heater is working as I write.  Ryan was here 1-1/2 hours.....today's charge $418.  i asked about the discrepancy in pricing and he said for all the work he did off-site, really.  

It's funny how they sent me a survey of how well they did on the 1st visit, I responded with call me and email address.  I have yet to hear from anyone.  

I would warn let the buyer beware to call this company. They willl never be called back to my home, just say'n.

Looking at Yelp reviews now, damn I should have look before I called them. My bad.

We had our outside water spicket crack at the seam because we were trying to remove our hose. The soft copper and us messing with it caused the crack. They sent Shawn to fix it and he was awesome! My mother has cognitive issues and likes to talk to people, so she talked his ear off and he never complained and never got snippy with her. He was a great sport and did a beautiful job!
We've had a few of their plumbers come out and they are all respectful, kind and all around awesome people! We highly recommend Fox for any plumbing issue!

My feeling is that they price a simple job very high if they feel the truck could make more money on another job.  The estimate I received was absolutely ridiculous and not supported by any other companies.  Stay away.

I used to have a very favorable impression of Fox Service. They did the HVAC repair and maintenance for a previous employer. I called to get them to fix my central air system which wouldn't blow cold. I told the representative I spoke with on the phone, I thought it was likely the run/start capacitor.

Their tech diagnosed it and told me I needed a replacement run/start capacitor. After having described the symptoms and the remedy he showed up without the capicitor.He went back to their shop to pick one up.They didn't have one in stock so he fixed it by wiring multiple compactors  overed by  a torn and shabby cardboard box with exposed wires into my outdoor condenser unit. I was charged for two service calls.

That fix failed in a few days. Approximately $800 later they said I needed to replace the whole system and quoted me far more than their reputable competitors. They wouldn't apply the previous service charges toward the repair either.

Bottom line -- I bought the part for about $20 and fixed it myself. I called and explained what happened and said I thought I deserved a partial refund. Others in the same business in San Antonio (not on competition with Fox) agreed. I never received any financial consideration.

I will NEVER use them again. The second star is only for previous experiences.

The reviews of Fox seem to be either 5 stars or 1 stars which reflects why customers write reviews- either because they're very happy or very unhappy.  

This review is going to be a mixed bag.

Stated simply:  we are happy with the work done by the service people at Fox.  We're not as happy with their management.

Fox has a wide variety of services-  we've used them several times over the past 15 years for HVAC and plumbing services.  The guys that have done the work varied from older very experienced guys to younger guys who had less experience.  In every case, we've been happy with the service.  The service staff explained what they did and why they did it.   They made recommendations to improve performance or prevent problems with both the HVAC and with the plumbing.  We've been satisfied with the professionalism of their workers and we've never had anyone come to our home from Fox that we were not comfortable having in our home.

About 7 years ago, we had them install a new HVAC system which is one of the best decisions we've made.  They recommended an excellent model and there is a noticeable difference in our house since the units were installed and there's also been a noticeable difference in our utility costs.

Everything was going well with the HVAC until about a year ago.  We purchased a maintenance plan where Fox came out and serviced the units twice a year to do preventive maintenance.  This was important to us because we travel and there's nothing worse than coming home from a trip to find a broken AC or heating unit.  Last year, we had our maintenance done in October.  Then in late October, the drain line failed.  The line should have been checked a couple of weeks earlier during the maintenance service and there's no way that it got completely blocked in a couple of weeks of low AC usage.  In addition to the line being blocked, the cut-off sensor that should have turned off the unit did not sense the water buildup.   The backup drain line that should have drained the excess water also failed.   The drain line failure flooded the lower floor of the house and caused about $10K in damage.  

This is where the review becomes mixed:  the service person who came out to look at the unit showed up about 2 hours after we called (impressive!).  He stayed for about 5 hours until the line was opened and he was sure that there would be no more water backup in the unit.   He left around 9PM and because he stayed so long, I think he had to miss out on something that he had planned with his kids.  That's example of what we consider going above and beyond the call of duty.

We've left several messages with the manager at Fox asking him to call us and discuss how the line blockage was missed during the maintenance calls.  We would also like to understand better how the overflow sensor that we paid for also failed and how the backup drain line also failed.  In spite of leaving several messages, we have never heard from anyone at Fox.  

So, it's with reservation that I recommend Fox.  I can recommend their work and I can say that you won't feel uncomfortable having their workers in your home.  However, if something were to go wrong with their work, I can't guarantee that you will receive the same level of service from their management and I can't guarantee that their management will be accountable for anything that may go wrong.  I would also recommend you ask about their maintenance plans and what performance guarantees those plans offer in the event something were to go wrong.

Zero stars!!! Laundry room was flooding called the girl scheduled and appointment from 12-6. I called back a few hours later to see what time they thought they would be here because it was my daughter's birthday and either my husband or I would have to stay behind and I was trying to get a window of time so maybe we could go for a little while. When I called back they ended up telling me that they WERE NOT COMING!!! I couldn't believe it! When were they going to call me and let me know this??? Then they acted like it was no big deal and that I'm over reacting!! My laundry room  is flooded I called early in the morning it's now noon and you tell me you're not coming and I found out only because I called you??? Sorry way of doing business sorry response to their mess up and no responsibility!!
Please don't use this company please call Clarke-Kent instead much better company who keeps their promise of coming and cheaper!!!

Long story short.... Fox replaced 3 full HVAC systems in our home over the past two weeks and 2 OF THE NEW SYSTEMS INSTALLED BY FOX HAD GAS LEAKS. I was in the attic organizing Christmas decorations and noticed the gas smell. I immediately turned off the gas and called Fox. They had a tech out within 30 minutes and he identified leaks in two of the recently installed systems. One had been leaking for over a week!!!! I had difficulty with Fox during the scheduling process, but that pales in comparison to the dangerous situation they put my family in. Thank goodness my wife asked me to get out the Christmas decorations, otherwise we may have been in a terrible situation.

I'll start by saying its unfortunate to be writing this bc Fox was referred to me by a very trusted neighbor who has had good experiences. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I scheduled a tech to come out just to check the functioning of my unit; nothing was wrong with it, but the unit is getting old, so I wanted to be as proactive as possible. After just about 10 minutes of looking the tech told me the unit was old, not functioning correctly and needed to be replaced. I asked how much that may run, and he flippantly replied, that's a loaded question; could be $6k, could be $18k. When I asked if he could give a more targeted estimate based on the size of my current unit and home, he said the tag was missing from the unit, so there was no way for him to know it's size. His responses raised red flags and were quite honestly, very condescending . He then talked about how we could band-aid fix it by adding Freon, but there was no way to know how much (which was a legitimate answer); he said he could do a leak test on the spot which would help better answer that. Unfortunately, I fell for this suggestion (to the cost of $399), and sure enough he found a leak. He referred me to their sales department to discuss next steps of repair vs. replacement

Since I was not pleased with my experience and concerned about the validity of the diagnosis, given the unit still seemed to be functioning just fine, I got a 2nd opinion (also a trusted referral). Low and behold, the second opinion found nothing wrong with the unit minus a faulty damper and the need to clean the outside condenser of some mud. The tech even commented on how impressed he was with how the unit functioned given its age.

It is frustrating and disappointing to think of the hundreds of dollars actually wasted (and the thousands of dollars potentially wasted)...an unfortunate yet good reminder to trust your gut!

These guys installed an AC/Heater unit for me Last September.  The guy who installed it basically told me that you are going to need your ductwork rerouted but he couldn't do it that day because it wasn't in the paperwork because the salesman didn't put it in the scope of work.   He said give it a week and if it's not cooling down properly call us back.  Well I called them back and they sent out a technician who also admitted that it could use some rework  but he seemed very hesitant to commit to anything.  Said he needed to file his paperwork and someone would get back to me.  That was the end of my communication.  I called the office multiple times.  Called and texted my salesman who had sent me several text previously and he just ghosted me.   I went to their website and sent several communications to them and nobody would call me back.    Use these guys at your own risk.  They got my money and that's all they wanted.  They are not about to spend another dime on me.    Just watch this review and see if anyone even bothers to respond.  These guys don't care about you, your repeat business or a quality job.   And the funniest part, they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee posted all over their website.

Things started off not so great when they told me it was a $99 service call and that wouldnt even go towards repairs if I chose to make them. Definitely something that should have been mentioned when I made the appt and not typical of most companies I have dealt with. I had a whole report from the manufacturer with error codes but the team sent ignored that and just went about running their own tests at ~$175/hr. At the end of it all I was out $250 and nothing was resolved. This company is overpriced compared to similar services and I wouldn't use them in the future. I gave 3 stars because the crew showed up on time and was respectful.

These guys are amazing! Jarran and Sam made the impossible possible when I had a client who needed a last minute job done, and more importantly done right. They are worth every penny. I am a business owner and sub contract work regularly and Fox Service company will always be my first call for Electrical/Ac/Plumbing needs.

I called took out service contract. Appointment for 12-6 . At 5:15 I called to ask where was the  tech. He was still in Austin. I cancelled due to traffic and being Friday he wouldn't have arrived until 6:30 or later. Reschedule for 8/12 following Monday. Called at 11:15 to be told I was not  on the schedule then told I was. I could not get a straight answer about my morning scheduled visit. Asked for a manager repeatedly  Told they were helping other people with problems. I couldn't even get the person to admit my time of appointment had been dropped again . They charged my card for the service contract and so far haven't provided service once when they said they would. Three hours later and no return call from a manager. When I called in I was told they'd have send another email to a manager. I asked them to cancel the service contract, they have to send an email to billing to request it. This has been horrible customer service. The people who field the calls talk in a circle over and over. I would not recommend this company to anyone .

It took a couple of days, and several visits, but the problem was properly diagnosed, and resolved.

Kendel C (manager) was awesome helping with communication. He was JohnnyOnTheSpot!

Richard (Tech) was knowledgeable, polite and experienced.

The job was called on several times because we had electrical and ac issues. But better to be over scheduled than not at all. The invoicing was a bit confusing because at one point we thought there was a cancellation of one part of the job. Richard called and explained it thoroughly and then we were ok.

The communication between the techs and the home office and the customer needs to be a little better so that the customers are in the loop incase something goes wrong, but the overall system works ok.

I didn't decide to go with Fox right away. He checked in on me without pressuring me to go with their company. I can't say enough good things about his service.

Installation day - Kelvin and Manny showed up on time. They were respectful (my install was in the midst of COVID-19), wore their masks, prompt and did an excellent job on the install. Lastly, I had spray insulation added to my attic. Glass and Angel were the installers. They too were prompt, professional, friendly and did a very nice job with the spray installation. Both crews seemed to be happy with their jobs and enjoy what they were doing. Matthew even sent a pizza for lunch to one of the crews and they were very grateful for that!

Overall my experience with Fox was EXCELLENT! They were not the least expensive of the bids but their price was competitive. I love that they handled the Lennox rebates (which I waited to do this review until I received it) and also took care of the COA rebate process. I felt they did an honest job with professional from start to finish. This was a big home investment for me so I wanted to make sure I went for quality and not for some fly by night company that might not last the 10 years to follow through with the warranty work. In this case, I feel I got what I paid for and I am extremely satisfied and grateful for their service!

First impressions are hard to live down.  

I've been waiting for 4 hours for my scheduled appointment that was even definitive.  I was told that I could expect a plumber between 8am-12p.  No one showed.  I called the office at 9am, and the receptionist said that they would call 1 hour before.  At 11 am, I called back and sat on hold for one hour waiting for the phone to be picked up.  I guess the receptionist was on her lunch break?  She finally got my call at 12pm.  She basically told me that all of their plumbers were still on their first calls of the day and would need to reschedule.  ARE YOU F'ING KIDDING?  DO YOU THINK I'M GOING TO BE A SUCKER AND WAIT AROUND FOR A PLUMBER TO POSSIBLY SHOW UP?  WHAT A JOKE!!!  WILL NEVER CALL THIS COMPANY AGAIN AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND.  

No calls, no follow up on their end provided me with the worst first impression of what they perhaps consider quality customer service.

Thanks for wasting half of my day Fox!  Can I bill you for my time?

Part 2!!! I totally forgot and have not submitted part two of my experience so here we go.
Kudos again to Carey Weaver who headed up our project and gave us our quote. Part 2 was the return visit to add insulation, recraft some of the ducts and add a solar attic fan. Box placed one and a half inch duct board and used about 3 gallons of sealant to ensure that all our ducts were making the best use of the new airflow. They also blue ran 21 bags of insulation.
I have miss placed the paper that I wrote the names of the gentleman that came on the second service visit because I wanted to acknowledge them. As soon as I find it I will add that information to this review.

We own a rental home and discovered - the night before we had a family arriving and in a terrifically bitter cold snap - that our heater wasn't working.  Fox - and Eric D. - literally saved us (and the family - who were blissfully unaware that there was ever a problem!).  We called around 2:00, and were grateful that Fox had an after hours appointment they could give us that evening (6:00).  But about 30 minutes later we got a phone call from Eric saying that one of his earlier clients had cancelled, and would it be convenient for us if he came then.  It was incredible - and he was incredible.  Super friendly and knowledgeable - figured out the problem in no time at all and promptly fixed it.  We couldn't have been more grateful and we couldn't have asked for better service.  Thanks so much ya'll at Fox!!!

Our AC decided to die July 3rd (the day before a holiday). Fox got me on the schedule for July 5th, which was great!

Rodney was our technician. He sold us their current promotion, $99 for both a heating and air service this year. Rodney was everything I look for in an employee: knowledgeable, friendly, competent, and efficient. He was also an excellent salesperson, telling me about the current promo and a future promo.

Gratefully, Rodney was able to fix the issues that were causing our system to fail and it fit into the regular service fee. Additionally, he went above and beyond harvesting parts from his truck to fix an issue with the thermostat unit.

I've always had great experiences with Fox. They take care to cover their feet (totally unnecessary in my messy house, but appreciated). They're mindful of your time. Their technicians are always professional and helpful.

Fox just finished replacing our complete HVAC system including ducts and everything.  They did the job quickly and according to schedule.  The guys doing the install were great.  They left no mess and made sure the doors stayed closed so the cat didn't attempt an escape.  So far the system seems to run great.  We are having them do some major electrical work next week and anticipate the same level of professionalism.  

I highly recommend them to anyone needing repairs.

Over the last year we've spent over $2500 to still NOT have the leak fixed in our system. These idiots just kept filling up the Freon and charging us $91 pound which was our 'discount because we're VIP customers'. We called them out a 3rd time this week, $500 visit and then Cory tells us he found the leak finally after a year and it will cost us $2,400 to fix...the only part is located in San Marcos and they only have one AND he needed to know within a week! Ok Cory, let me drop $3K today when this was supposed to be fixed last December when you charged us $1,400. Company is a SCAM! Their service men are scum, unprofessional, dirty and crooks!!!!! STAY AWAY! We had another company come out yesterday and fixed the leak while adding more Freon because Fox STILL didn't fill it up, just charged us...and they did it for $900.

I had a horrible experience and left a bad review. About a week later a manager called me and asked if I would explain in more detail my experience with the service. After my explanation, he agreed that the tech was unprofessional and I had every right to be frustrated. He apologized on behalf of his coworker and offered to refund my service fee. That is a classy move, and while I don't know if I would use them again, I at least respect the business policy and care for the customer. I am very happy to be getting a refund. Thanks to management at least.

Quick suggestion - if your techs are going to be giving estimates they should be educated and prepared on how the estimate breaks down. - Part costs, labor costs and time, any city fees/inspections, etc. As a homeowner, I like to know where my money is going, and why. Just my two cents.

Fox Service provided quick, dependable service done by professional experts at a reasonable price.

After getting an astronomical bid from Radiant Plumbing for $1,600.00 to replace our  Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) at our home  we called Fox Service.  The next day,  Bryan and his helper Pedro came to our home with the same diagnosis but the price was significantly lower.  They were both awesome.  They did the work in record time and got our pressure problems under control.  I asked Bryan to look at some other issues in the house and he happily obliged.  We will be using Bryan and Fox Services for all of our plumbing needs from on.

I am a happy customer.   Came home from work,  and walked into a hot house. After checking  a few things myself, it was time to call a pro. Scott their technician was able to come out and get the unit up and running. This was an after hours call out [10:30 pm] which cost more but was not unreasonable. Scott was very knowledgeable and diagnosed the issue in a few minutes. Total time on site, approximately 1 hour. Will use this company again if needed. Thanks Scott

Took the day off of work to be at the house for a plumber to come to give an estimate. I found out an hour into the scheduled time frame (which was a 5 hour window) that the plumber would not be coming out and could not come out for another week. So unprofessional - the receptionist didn't express any sympathy for the inconvenience.

If they are not able to provide good service at the initial quote I can't imagine it is much better once work begins.

We have a home warranty company service contract, that wasn't doing the job to fix our plumbing repair.  After two visits, they still didn't replace the stop angles in the upstairs bathroom.   Then, our downstairs powder room started leaking water.  So, seeing all the great reviews on Fox, I decided they'd be worth the price.  But, nope.

Fox service guy #1 was nice, timely, professional.  However, he didn't seem to know the problem with the downstairs bathroom.  He ended up searching the house to find other problems that he could charge me to fix, HVAC in the attic, upstairs bathroom, etc.  He would've charged about $365 to fix the upstairs stop angles.  So, I decided to call our home warranty company for a third time for that.

Fox service guy #1 finally said downstairs problem was due to plastic pipe inside of the pipe was too high, and cut it down, but, did so crooked. $73. for service call and free repair.

After FSG #1 left, the toilet started running.  So, we called Fox out again.  Fox Service Guy #2 wanted to replace the guts of the toilet for $175.00.  He did a huge sales song and dance, trying to even charge us more to put in a whole new toilet, wanted to charge us another service call fee, etc.  

Then, he finally said, my manager will kill me for saying this, but, you can buy a rubber flap for $10. at Home Depot, which should fix the problem.  It's actually less than $10.00 at Home Depot.

We called our home warranty company back.  This time, they assigned M1 to the job.  For the same $65., no new charge, M1 worked to fix both bathrooms.  They replaced the 5 stop angles, and put in a new flap in the downstairs bathroom.  

The problem though is that the downstairs toilet still runs and leaks.  So, we're calling M1 out again.

Long story short, I guess every place, depends on the individual contractor who comes out.  Fox probably has great service people.  But, it seems like they're also trained to do a lot of up selling and are expensive.  If they were able to diagnose and fix the problem, it would have been worth it to us.  However, they didn't seem to know the problem either.  Although, they were very polite, and timely.

Nightmare experience with these people. Two minutes after the guy finished a simple repair on my ac the compressor blew. They took no responsibility and wanted to charge an additional $2,000 to replace the compressor that they broke.

Technicians lie about their time cards, do not actually fix the issue and then they have the NERVE to charge you again to come out and look at the exact same problem!  Spoke with Management who clearly does not care, and getting them on the phone is a joke.  Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs!

My 18-year-old HVAC system died last Wednesday. Fox had been fixing it piecemeal over the last 4 years and, I being a 77-year-old senior, needed that cooling. Fox dispatched Darren, who offered to do another piecemeal fix or replace the system. I was given the option and chose to replace it. The only problem was that they couldn't do the install until Saturday. Darren contacted Cary and together they came up with a plan to keep me cool until Sat. To my mind, that is superior customer service. But, I have always enjoyed great service from Fox. I always subscribe to their annual inspection plan which helps me keep the system running at its best and offers a discount. The two installers, Bryant and Juan were friendly, fast, knowledgeable, and efficient, completing the job in about 5 hours. They would be welcome here anytime. I am very pleased with the whole experience, and highly recommend Fox and their entire team. Mariah, the admin lady whom I contacted was, likewise, cheerful, considerate, and kind. A real asset to the Fox service organization. I make this recommendation freely, without fear or favor.

Things started well enough, with an agent answering my call quickly, and setting me up with a technician house-call for the next morning.  I was super-busy that morning, but kept my phone close -- no call ever came, so I called Fox late afternoon.  The agent told me they had been absolutely swamped with work, everything was way behind, and they were sorry.  I said ok, and asked why in the world they had not bothered to call to tell me they would not be able to keep the appointment, and she simply hung up.  This was a lousy experience, and I can't recommend even talking with Fox about getting a job on their schedule; I don't know about the quality of their work.

Called Fox yesterday to get someone out to diagnose and fix a water pressure problem with my hot water in several places in the house.  Dispatcher arranged a time slot this morning.  Shawn showed up when he was expected, was very polite and professional, was well-groomed and cheerful, worked diligently to root-cause my problem and correct it, and left me with a good feeling that I can call Fox the next time I have a plumbing issue.  I may switch to Fox for my HVAC services, too, since Shawn explained the discounts available with using Fox's maintenance program for air conditioners!

My only complaint is that Fox is a little pricier than I was expecting-- but at the end of the day, I felt that I got my money's worth (and then some).    Thanks, Shawn!  You are welcome here any time.  :-)

We've been using Fox Service for maintenance with their maintenance plan for over 2 years, and they've been great, fast and reliable.   A couple of weeks ago we got new AC unit and HVAC, Lacounte Murray was great, came to our house, no pressure, explained to us the different options, we went with one.  They came installed on a day that was convenient for us, they cleaned up after themselves didn't leave a mess.  The AC worked but it turned off after an hour or so, we called the direct line, they had someone came out within the hour and fixed it, great customer service!

Love Fox Service. My family has been using Fox since I was little.
I have been using them since I bought my condo.
We just had to move our A/C to be able to remodel the Bathroom.
So this was a really big project.
It had to be moved from downstairs in a closet to up into the attic.
This was a monster job.
But as always Fox had it under control.
We also wanted a access point put it to make it easier to do maintenance ourselves.
They had the new unit put in and working in one day. It was a long day but living in Texas it can be really HOT and no one wants to be without A/C long.
It took another day to finish the access point to attic.
We ran into a few problems and had to stop and put it off  for another day.
So now we are on the third day.
They were committed to making this perfect and not a half ass job.
When it was done it was perfect.
They are committed to excellence and to making everything perfect.
That is why  I am still with Fox Service.
Do yourself a favor use Fox Service.
They will make right.

Called Fox at 6:30am this morning to have a commercial water heater that was spewing water everywhere repaired.  Talked to the on-call plumber (I assume) and was told that he would put in the call and someone would contact me at 7:00 and send a plumber out.  At 7:30 I called to check on the status and was told that they could not get anyone out today and if I wanted to pay 'emergency' pricing they could have someone out tonight.  I had water EVERYWHERE!  Which is what I said to them as well as it was my understanding you had 24hr emergency service.  Called Roto-Rooter after that and had a plumber here in 45min.  Will never call Fox again!

Final update.

The customer service Manager explained  that the technician overcharged me when it came to the price of the items. So for example he noted that the capacitor charge of $185 should have included the labor charge. Similarly for kickstart item. The $245 should also include the labor charge.

All in all he agreed to refund me $119. It took almost a week for the refund to appear on my credit card. I wish I did not have to go through to fix an AC capacitor!  

And hence is the change of rating to 3 star from 1 star.

I advise that if you are going to use the company to actually do some research upfront and do a price comparison. Without a doubt they will be a little bit pricier than of course buying the part yourself and DYI because they would need to pay the technicians The staff  ... Etc. I think that should be fine if it is reasonable.

the manager was friendly and wanted to resolve the issue and come to common ground.

So is was my experience. I wish it is helpful to you.

The AC capacitor was out.  I called them, here is the list of charges:
Kick Start $245  (in the market, its a $45 part)
Dual Capacitor $185  (in the market its a $39)
Labor $69  (took them 5 minutes to replace)
service call $59
Environment charge $20.
and in order to get these 'discounted' prices, i had to buy priority one service for $169.

this is the definition of rip-off. I am sad about them, as i trusted this company for along time!

We will be customers for life.

Our very first home purchase came with a host of air conditioning and electrical issues, and Fox Service Company made our little home livable! Although they were not the lowest bid, we chose Fox Service Company to do the work because they were friendly and knowledgeable, and explained everything to us clearly, and as many times as we needed. They also gave us two estimates: a Must-Do Now list, as well as a When You Can Afford Everything list. We found it very helpful in deciding how to allocate our limited budget, as well as how to plan for future upgrades. There were no hard sell tactics, and we received their enthusiastic support whenever we decided to choose a less-expensive option.

For some reason, the air conditioning unit had originally been placed on the roof (by another company), which was not designed to hold its weight. Fox moved the unit safely to the ground, and re-worked our entire A/C duct system to make it more efficient and save us money. They also handled our weatherization, which included removing the old attic insulation and blowing in new, better stuff, installing custom-fit solar screens all around the house, and taking care of all window and door drafts to make our little home air-tight. They also handled ALL the paperwork to ensure we got the maximum rebates from Austin Energy, and they did not charge us until after the energy inpection.

We received the same stellar service from Fox's electricians. They re-wired the garage and parts of the house to bring it up to code, and let us know which repairs were urgent, and what we could postpone until we could afford it.

The real upside of choosing a company that doesn't charge rock-bottom prices is that when they discovered unexpected problems (and there were many!), they didn't stop working to contact us and negotiate a few more dollars out of us. They just fixed the problem and kept right on working. Because we had a firm move-in date, they worked overtime for several days, including once until 2am! And then they actually apologized for working so late!

Our new-to-us little house got us through the Central Texas summer in comfort, thanks to Fox Service Company. We never turned off the A/C, but we still have lower-than-average electric bills, and we got a fat rebate check from Austin Energy on top of it all! We don't worry about finding more problems in our older house, because we know exactly who to call when we do.

We will be forever grateful to supervisor Brandon Robinson, weatherization techs Chris, Juan, and Roy, and installation technicians Miguel and Obidiah, as well as the electricians, Joshua and Cary. And we will definitely be using Fox Service Company when we're ready to do our renovations!

The technician (Aubrey L.) who provided my service was so very professional in describing the problem and how it would be fixed.  He clearly knew what he was doing. As far as business transactions go, I cannot think of any way in which my experience and the end result could be improved.

Our air conditioner went out on us.on Sunday during the heat of the day. An air conditioner that, BTW Fox had installed less than three years ago for over 6K. I check their web page and it said they were open on Sundays. I called and was told that the manager was out and would call me back soon. An hour and a half later no call so I called again. I was again told the same. Two hours later no return call so I called again. I was told that they had open slots that day and I would be contacted soon. It never happened. In that it was Sunday and during a heat wave, I can understand. But if they could have told me it would be another day, I could have spent the day at my daughters in cool comfort. Instead, I spent the day in a hot house waiting for a call or worker that never came. Why mislead me?

Were elderly and heat affects us more than others. Not recommended..   .

In a word, upsell.

The service technician came out for a routine A/C cleaning, and proceeded to try and sell me additional components and refrigerant that were completely unnecessary.  They then procceded to find a completely non-existent leak.  The method of testing to discover this phantom leak was completely inaccurate.  (as attested by Temprite, who I do recommend)

I cancelled my service agreement, and ate the loss on the heater service.  Didn't need another pointless sales pitch.

On time and on budget! We recently had some electrical work done by Fox Service Company. Dennis our electrician was very professional. He give us an accurate quote, showed up on time and finished early. I don't know what else you could do to earn more stars. Clean, fast and accurate - I would highly recommend this group of professionals.

A big thank you to Fox Service for all the effort they went to, to make sure that we were satisfied customers!  Joey Tice, project manager, met with us to discuss the issues that we were having with our HVAC system. Our HVAC was oversized for our square footage, and that caused air distribution problems, and was very loud.  We had an additional consult with Joey, and decided to replace the whole system.  From the installers, Kevin and Evan, to the air balance team Rick and Juan, we have checked off all the boxes and now have a comfortable and quieter home.  We appreciate the professional way that everyone did their jobs, but especially Joey Tice. He was very responsive in answering his phone EVERY time I called or returning my call in a timely manner.  He went out of his way to provide top notch service!

We recently engaged Fox to analyze error messages on our AC thermostat and control unit.  They sent out Darren Sullivan a high performing tech out to our house to troubleshoot the issue.  Bad news is that we needed a new unit. But the Darren carefully and meticulously navigated through the troubleshoot. Darren took some good photos of the leaking refrigerant.  He is probably the most competent, detail tech I have worked with in the past many years. We will be a continued, repeat customer.

These guys are crooks. Had a tech out to a rental property when the AC went out. He said the thermostat was broken and that a replacement would be $400. I said no and installed a Nest (it takes 20 minutes so I did it myself). It went out again and this time the tech said only his $400 thermostat would work. When I asked why he said it would be way more expensive to find the problem than $400, and he wouldn't be able to do it the same day. It was 100 degrees and I had very upset tenants, so I let him replace the thermostat.

Fast forward to the bill. In addition to the visit charge, they charged me $416 for a $58 thermostat that you can buy on Amazon and have professionally installed through Amazon for $96. I called them and talked to a manager who basically told me too bad. Steer clear of Fox. They don't care about customer service and they will cheat you every chance that they get.

As a point of reference, this is the thermostat that costs $416 if you have Fox come out and recommend a replacement.  The price has gone up a bit: amazon.com/Honeywell-TH5…


Update: The response to this post conveniently omits a couple of key points.  They clearly care more about damage control than customer service.  They don't provide a detailed quote as stated.  The response also doesn't mention that the tech threatened a much more expensive bill if they had to come back to solve the problem.  The short summary is that the temperature was over 100 degrees out, the tech said he didn't know what was wrong (he didn't narrow it down to an electrical problem as stated), and he said that the only way to get AC was to buy Fox's thermostat priced at extortion levels.  That is the AC equivalent of the shady auto mechanic that you never want to go to.  

Yes, it is true they offered to come back, but after they proved themselves incompetent and dishonest, what sane person would let them back in your home?  Mr. David K might approve of these practices, but that signifies the problem with this company.  They encourage bad behavior at the cost of their customers.

Each time I have used Fox, it has been outstanding. I look for the 3 Fs: Friendly, Fast, and Fair.  Fox gets an A+ across the board. I don't remember the techs who did a/c service in the past, but the first didn't charge me and showed me a self-fix at the outside unit.  The next time, we had a problem inside the house and the technician was friendly and solved the problem easily without the upselling other companies pull.

Yesterday, we had Joseph out to look at an outlet. He explained everything and took care of the problem fast. Turned out that fixing that outlet solved a power prob in another rm. Which also highlighted another problem outlet. He took care of that immediately and solved major issues at my house.  All for around $200, again with zero upselling or inflated charges or superfluous additional services.  The best part...he did it right.  

That's what some reviewers miss.  They aren't going to temp-fix something to get repeat customers.  They get loyal customers from us NOT having to call them out for the same problems.  They actually fix things right and, therefore, are the best value for the money because it is money very well spent.  I cannot recommend them enough.

Edit: they initially didn't have an avail tech for a week from yesterday, but offered to call if anything opened sooner. I got a call that day, 30 minutes before Joseph showed up, saying that a tech was avail.  I said sure, and (even w rush hr traffic) Joseph was there immediately.  They do book up, and there's a reason for their being in demand.  They also do everything poss to get someone out earlier if they can.

One of my Air Conditioning units died during the winter, and we noticed it with the first warm weather. I called Fox since I have a Priority One Service Plan with them and they came out the next day. Unfortunately, my 14 year old system needed to be replaced. The project manager, Cary, came out a few days later (when we could coordinate with my schedule) and checked out the whole system. He told me he'd email me a complete proposal that evening, and it was in my Inbox as promised. He gave me 3 different choices, with all the information I needed to decide. They also offered financing @ 0% interest. He gave me the EXACT amount for the replacement, so I knew precisely what I was doing. He called the next day, and schedule the work for the very next day.

The whole crew was excellent. They got here on time, worked all day, and made sure the system was working properly. They replaced a thermostat and a couple of smoke/carbon monoxide detectors as well. They cleaned up everything and went over the details of the work that was done so I understood it clearly. They will file the paperwork for my Austin Energy rebate and the registration for the Bryant unit.

I was very impressed with all their hard work and professional attitude. I've been using Fox Service Company for nearly 20 years and I'm very satisfied with their work.

Have been a regular customer for many years. From their electric division to HVAC maintenance and repair, the technicians have been polite, professional and proficient. Will continue to use their services. The prices are within normal standards so don't expect a great deal but knowing the company stands by their work is worth it to me. Whenever I have had a problem or issue, the staff and managers have been understanding and we have always worked things out with mutual agreement.

Absolutely phenomenal company. So highly recommended. I had an electrical problem and all of my pool equipment lost power the night before a big pool party. Juran made an after hours, last minute visit and was able to find the problem with some melted wires. Our hero!  I will definitely use Fox Service Company again in the future.

Do yourself a favor and get back on yelp and find somebody else. The only reason to call them is if your AC goes out during the weekend when the other guys are closed.

Long story short the technician himself was ok, but not an expert. They quoted me $800 for a fix that another AC expert did for $200 including labor and fixed in 30 mins while we chatted.

I scheduled a service appointment on Tuesday 6/12 and Fox technician George arrived on time to service and assess the issue (electrical line out to lake pump therefore irrigation system not working). It went downhill from there. I never heard back from George or Fox as to next steps so I called on 6/14 and was informed we had a new appointment for 6/19 a week after original appt. still no explanation as to what George found to be the issue and still our irrigation system not working. 6/19 late afternoon Fox called to say George was running behind and would it be ok for him to come out tomorrow, Wednesday 6/20. I guess as I really had no choice if I wanted to continue down road with Fox. Thursday 6/21 still no work so called Fox in the am. George called back and left me a vm he'd be out at 4:30 on 6/21 10 days passed my original appt. George never called me Thursday to say he came out and did not call me Friday. Friday afternoon 6/22 I called Fox to let them know their service was no longer needed. We've been out of town this entire time trying to manage issue in hopes of getting sprinklers working so lawn would not be completely dead by time we returned home. We've used Fox in past and they are pricey but had always been reliable. I'm not sure what happened in this instance but the service was beyond poor, frankly they should be embarrassed by their technician Geroge's lack of customer service and same with their main office. No one ever called me to check in I had to track and manage the appointments and status, or lack there of.

These are the best most honest guys in town. After getting the run around by my previous service company, I called Fox. The compressor on my In Warranty Bryant HVAC system went out and Fox was quick to replace my compressor under warranty, with no out of pocket expenses, per the warranty! I am one happy customer. I've had nothing but great experiences with Fox services. When I bought my home I used them for all of the plumping and electrics issues I needed taken care of. Every tech I met was courteous and treated my home like it was their own. Just recently had an A/C and furnace install and it was another great experience. LaCounte helped us out last week when our Ac went out. We were due to go on vacation so needed our AC motor fixed after hours. He came at 10:30 pm with no complaints. This guy not only replaced the motor, but also took out the whole casing and hosed it down outside. Then checked over the whole system to ensure that was the only issue. I am so impressed with his work I would recommend Fox to anyone! Thank you LaCounte!

My AC wasn't working so I made an appointment for the following day. That morning the AC came back on so I called to cancel the appointment. When it went back out a day later, I made an appointment, but they couldn't schedule me for two more days. Knowing there might be some confusion, I called the morning of my appointment to make sure I was still on the schedule. I was told yes, they should be there between 9 and 6. When 5:00 rolled around and I hadn't heard anything I called. I was then informed that no, I was not on the schedule for today. The only option I was given was to make another appointment for two days later. Do not call this place unless you want to waste a full day waiting to see if they will show up. Terrible communication.

Been trying to cool my west facing garage for some years, trying fans, vents and all sorts of stuff and finally came to the conclusion that I needed to put A/C in there. After doing some research, I figured that a mini-split unit would do the job and so started looking around.

Spookily enough, a Fox ad appeared in my Facebook timeline, so I called up and spoke to Cary Weaver. He couldn't have been more helpful and during his visit to review my needs, advised on placement etc. Within a matter of hours, I had a proposal for a Mitsubishi mini-split system in my inbox and an hour or so after that, another proposal taking into account a nice rebate! It was very convenient for me to communicate via email and Cary was quick to respond.

Upon acceptance of the proposal, installation was scheduled within a matter of days. The electrical guy arrived (sorry, don't recall the name), discussed placement of the install and next thing he was done, nice neat installation. Evan and Kenneth (hope I recalled the name correctly) arrived to do the install of the unit. I went through my view of the install with them and they listened and asked questions such as 'do you want the unit centrally located on the wall'. These guys were professionals, they didn't just turn up to install the system their way and leave. I was looking for a very discrete install and asked that the lines for the unit be run through the attic space over the garage and they just got on with it. They stayed till past 6PM to ensure that everything was complete to my satisfaction and it sure was, 100%.

Just wanted to pass along my compliments to Robert for his prompt and efficient service work last night (9/9).  I had come home to find my A/C was out and the temperature in my house at 83 and rising.  

My initial attempts to find the cause didn't succeed, and my schedule for Monday and the coming days wouldn't be suitable for waiting until morning.  Add to that I'm a single guy, have two dogs, one of which wouldn't do great as the heat built up, I needed service without delay.

I arranged for an after hours appointment on a Sunday night, around 830 pm.  Robert was at my home just over an hour after I called for service. He quickly identified the cause (bad capacitor), had the part on his truck, and was done within 30 minutes of arriving onsite.    Both the phone agent and Robert clearly explained the pricing options so I had no questions regarding what I'd be charged.

One of Time Warners installers put a hole in the ceiling of our garage while installing internet/cable. They called Fox to come fix the damage. Their service tech did a great job and was punctual and courteous. I'd recommend them to anyone.

As part of the Austin Energy AC Check-up program, I chose Fox Service as the company to go with (no real good reason).
LaCounte Murray and Rudy Flores showed up, and did a great job.  They showed me lots of things about my air conditions, and the way the operate, their efficiency, etc.  they were really, really helpful.  I also felt like while they try to recommend future services, there was not not a lot of pressure, and certainly no need to make any decisions while they were present.  
I was pleased with the customer service and would use them again.

Fox Service has been on my radar for at least a decade now.  We used them in a blanket contract when I was a government employee and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for their quick service and able bodied staff.

With the looming possibility of sleeping with no air conditioning, I recommended this big company whose reputation precedes it as a group capable of getting things done.

The fellow that answered the service call was kind and wise.  We talked about heat exchange and the properties that govern air conditioning.  He was a former chemist and knew exactly how to correct some of my misgivings about theory and practice where refrigerants are concerned.  He even showed me how to read the gauges.  I apologized profusely for hovering, but I think he recognized my curiosity as genuine.

With a couple of turns of the screwdriver and a solid diagnosis, he had everything back to normal.  The problem was solved. Sleeping was more restful.  Pricing was a little high, but it's hard to argue with results.

Cary (who came to the house to check our ductwork and give us a quote for a new AC/Compressor/Heater), Rafael and Tony (who installed the new system), and Rick and Sebastian (who measured and tweeked all the heat sources and insulated the back door) were all phenomenal.  All of these guys were so knowledgeable, professional, hardworking, and went the extra mile to make sure that their work was done properly and that I was happy with the work.  We have used Fox Service for the past 6 years to service our old unit, and we will happily continue to use them for this new unit.  They are awesome!

I am sorry to see so many poor reviews of Fox Service company here in Austin :(.  I have used them for years at my house, mainly for HVAC and plumbing, and actually electrical now and then too.  I have always had good and courteous service.  I even know some of the guys names- JoJo always does my annual heating/AC inspections.  Gabe was the plumber who took on the task of replacing my old water heater just this month in December (because that is when water heaters go- always when it is cold out!).  On that task they even came back the next day to correct a recirculating pump that was extra noisy.

I have the annual Priority One service contract with them- maybe that is the difference?   They hire pretty knowledgeable folks and they have never tried to screw me on anything, always tell me what my options are.   Never had a bad experience.  I would gladly recommend them for house maintenance work around Austin for A/C, Heating, plumbing, and electric work.

Long story short, one of their service members bent our garage door and now it is inoperable.  After calling to have them fix it, Chris the manager, basically said i know the guy that was out there and he is very diligent. He told me exactly what happened and I believe him. To which i responded, so this is a he said she said situation and you are, of course, going to side with your company so you dont have to pay for repairs

I am so over dealing with companies that treat their customers this way. It would literally take 100 bucks to fix, and they wont even consider it. And what can one person do to effect a company this size? Well, to begin, the owner of our house owns several others, and he is going to drop his account with Fox services. Will this bankrupt them? no? But if enough people do the same, maybe they will wake up.

We have used fox for almost everything in our home from their maintenance program for our a/c unit, to electrical for the install of an attic fan, to plumbing for a new sink in kitchen and remodel of our bathroom to repair a busted pipe under our pier and beam house. We have always been more than pleased with the service we have received.

I have had friends asking me who I use, I tell them and they say I heard they were a little on the pricy side they go elsewhere and end up having to go to Fox because the services that were done were done incorrectly. So not only are they still having to pay someone to do it right the first time but they are out the money the spent to just get it done a little cheaper.

Take note people; you pay for what you get, if the price is too good to be true...chances are you are right and end up spending more money in the long run!

Thanks to Miguel, Rafael, Juan and Cody for an amazing job on replacing the HVAC duct work in the dirt crawlspace of our house. I am aware how tough of a job it was and am so impressed with their professionalism and hard work.

Bryan, the plumber, came up with innovative, cost effective solutions.

Lastly, Louis was amazing with our electrical repairs. He did the job right without overcharging us for repairs that were not needed.

If your looking to be scammed, over charged, and taken advantage of this is your company.

First I don't know anything about a/c units, what the parts are called or what they do. I just want to turn the a/c on and for it to work. I

Our fist visit to fix the a/c the guy used foul language and tracked mud in my house. Oh all he did was charge me $600.00 and it still was not fixed. He just did a temp job, because while I'm not sure..  Then the second visit was even better. We had a 8 o'clock meeting, they showed up at 9. They left hand prints and damaged the wood by the unit. I was also told that we should avoid doing anything in the backyard because that is where the unit is. Really ????  Guess the backyards are not for the kids.

Then they charged my debit card and then my AMX for the same charge. When I called my rep, all I got was a voicemail. Then when I questioned the double charge I was told oh we charged it by mistake, but would not help me getting my money back. They then decided they were done.  I am still trying to get my money back, and if you like me, I need every penny I make. And this mistake  has costed me money and time.   Really Fox Service..... Not rock stars more like scam stars.......  ;( I guess I should hope the fixes were done right. The tech was on the phone with his boss asking how do I do this more then he was off.

Fox, I held you to a high standard....guess that was my first mistake.

FOX is at it again! Our condenser coil on our Heater-A/C went out and we asked about it when the electricians were here. They scheduled a great team- Cary and Robert F. came to diagnose it, then Misael and Rafael came out and fixed us up! We were more than pleased with Fox once again as they did it at a quarter of the price and time that we were quoted by others!

We've been using Fox as our AC/Heating inspection company for a few years now. We've had mostly good experiences with them and most of the service people as well as the people who answer the phones have been pretty helpful, prompt and courteous.

We had a service guy come out this morning, and while he did a quick and efficient job, he seemed sort of grumpy and like he really didn't want to be here. I tried to make some conversation with him, but most of it fell flat. At the end of the service call while I was trying to make conversation with him before he left, he simply walked out the door without replying to my last comments which was really odd. Most service people will at least chat with you for one moment to wrap up the call - this guy was not in the mood. You know, the general, Well thank you... it's a little cool this morning but at least the rain has passed, keep warm out there and have a great day. I don't know, maybe he's on a tight schedule today... but the entire time he was here there was an air that I didn't like and the entire call was awkward.

So, this would be a five star review for our past experiences - but the guy this morning just wasn't as personable as the rest of the service people who have come over in the past. I'm not sure I want this guy in my house again, honestly. Otherwise, we will continue to use Fox because they generally do not disappoint.

My AC went out last night (Sunday) and the first company I called couldn't figure out what was wrong. It was 1pm by the time I called Fox and they didn't think they could get anyone out by the end of the day, but would call if they could squeeze me in. They got someone out very quickly after all and their technician was awesome. The problem turned out to be something really stupid that I had done, but he was so nice about it and took care of it quickly for me. The price was reasonable, too. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name or read it on the receipt, but feel free to add it to the review and tell him thank you!

The plumber who visited my house was shocked at the interesting sound my pipes made yet it took him mere minutes to locate and fix the problem. While he was there, he fixed another small leaky pipe issue and gave me some advice for how to self-repair a leaky sink and worn water hammer arrestor. He was fast, knowledgeable, and charged the minimum, affordable service fee.

I manage a showroom. We had a squeaky AC and scheduled an appointment to come have it looked at. I specifically requested a specific  day that Fox agreed to so I would be in the showroom at the time. They showed up a day early because it was more convenient for them without any heads up--I would have happily met them there.
The tech was great and changed our belts. We also needed to change filters but we did not have those on hand. I made an appointment for the next week.
Again, Fox showed up on a different day as what was scheduled. The tech came and mentioned he was here to change the filters. Once he was done he mentioned that he had changed the filters and the belts because they needed it. Keep in mind Fox had changed our belts the week before. This is not something I had asked for and the tech was being dishonest.
He then told me I would still be charged because he used Fox's belts. After some pushback and a phone call to Fox, he said the belts would be taken off my bill.
Frustrated with this dishonesty. Fox did remove the charge from my bill.

Great customer service.  I used Fox Service Company for an electrical issue.  The arrived promptly and told me exactly what needed to be repaired.  It was a same day appointment and the technician was very knowledgeable and courteous.  The issue turned out to be a bad switch and I knew all the costs before the work started.  They are not the least expensive but they do a great job. Highly recommend.

Fox Service Company just completed my spring inspection of HVAC systems.  It's a free service included in their Priority One Maintenance agreement.  I've been using Fox for many years.  They are always very reliable and professional.  Today I called to scheduled the semi annual inspection and they were able to get to my house in 30 minutes.  Their technician, Daniel Toney, was friendly, informative, polite, and helpful.  He explained everything he was doing and how the systems were performing.  Daniel and Fox Svc. provided me with confidence my systems are ready for another long hot Texas summer.

I called Fox Service Company to perform a follow up electrical inspection of a house I was planning to buy.  Initial contact and scheduling was a breeze and we were off to a good start.  They mentioned they needed someone at the house to let them in (since it was vacant at the time) and told me they would show up around 9:30am the next time.  They did mention that they would call ahead before arriving.  9:30am rolls around and I still had not received a call.  I had taken time off work to be at the property to let them in so at 9:45am, I called to check on their status.  It was almost like they had forgotten about my appointment.  They made an excuse that my technician had called in sick that day...(then why was I not notified before then that he was not going to show up?).  They said they would send the next available technician my way.  I was under a tight schedule so I decided to wait at the house.  The next technician did not arrive until almost noon - in the end I basically had to take half the day off from work.  The technician, himself, was nice, but I would not consider to be thorough.  And the quote I received was outrageously overpriced.

In summary, I will never ever be doing business with Fox Service Company.

Your company lost a costumer yesterday due to calling them for a AC repair on a unit they installed back in 2006 and could not get a tech in the area till July 2-3 at the soonest for repairs. The temp inside was 97degrees up stairs and 94 down stairs. I will no longer using fox services for any repairs that need to be done from the AC heater or anything else they do.

We were faced with the dreaded task of having to shop for a new heating/cooling system...Fox was our third and final bid. Cary was awesome, he came out and did not try to sell us anything that we didn't need, and for us it was a no brainer! There was no price haggling,Cary shot us straight from the beginning and he did not have to come off his bid multiple times like some of the other bids, to get our business.  

Not only did we do a new ac/heat unit, we also did all new duct work, new hot water heaters, and a full weatherization of our house in an effort to maximize our efficiency with our new unit. Paul the plumber and his crew were very thorough, clean and efficient.  Paul made sure that the job was brought up to code and said that Fox couldn't do the job if certain things were not done properly. Chris and his crew were awesome! It was a two day job and I stay home with two kids that nap, and the guys were SOOO accommodating at not working in the kids nap areas while they were sleeping. I felt bad for how long those guys were at our house working their butts off in our hot summer attic until late. They kept my house clean and used drop cloths all throughout which was greatly appreciated.  

Save yourself a lot of hassle, and go with Fox! Just saying...

We've received great service from Fox over the past 15 years or so.

This year, we needed an entire new system and decided to take care of all our energy efficiency issues at the same time.

I solicited 5 bids for the following work:  new energy efficient A/C (inside and out), all new ductwork, remove old attic insulation and replace with all new insulation, add solar screens on all windows.

Fox was neither the lowest nor the highest bid.  They were, however, the only company that actually bid for exactly what I was requesting.  Fox has an extraction machine for removing attic insulation.  The other companies don't and they didn't want to bid for insulation removal.

Cary Weaver did a superb job from the quote all the way through installation.  All the techs Fox sent were personable, polite, and professional.

August was the first full billing month after we had this work completed - and our bill was about 26% lower than last year's August bill.  I think if we change some of our habits, we can drop our energy consumption even lower after these improvements.

The plumber who visited my house was shocked at the interesting sound my pipes made yet it took him mere minutes to locate and fix the problem. While he was there, he fixed another small leaky pipe issue and gave me some advice for how to self-repair a leaky sink and worn water hammer arrestor. He was fast, knowledgeable, and charged the minimum, affordable service fee.

I manage a showroom. We had a squeaky AC and scheduled an appointment to come have it looked at. I specifically requested a specific  day that Fox agreed to so I would be in the showroom at the time. They showed up a day early because it was more convenient for them without any heads up--I would have happily met them there.
The tech was great and changed our belts. We also needed to change filters but we did not have those on hand. I made an appointment for the next week.
Again, Fox showed up on a different day as what was scheduled. The tech came and mentioned he was here to change the filters. Once he was done he mentioned that he had changed the filters and the belts because they needed it. Keep in mind Fox had changed our belts the week before. This is not something I had asked for and the tech was being dishonest.
He then told me I would still be charged because he used Fox's belts. After some pushback and a phone call to Fox, he said the belts would be taken off my bill.
Frustrated with this dishonesty. Fox did remove the charge from my bill.

Great customer service.  I used Fox Service Company for an electrical issue.  The arrived promptly and told me exactly what needed to be repaired.  It was a same day appointment and the technician was very knowledgeable and courteous.  The issue turned out to be a bad switch and I knew all the costs before the work started.  They are not the least expensive but they do a great job. Highly recommend.

A/C went out and I called Fox. They had someone out within a few hours. The technician they sent was very professional and polite. He took the time to asses the problem and then walked me through what my options were. He wasn't pushy at all, which is something I fear when having work done at my house. His name was Erik and told him I was going to recommend him next time my unit went out!

What a joke.  Our blower motor on our AC went out. They came (same day) which was great but wanted to charge $1300 for a $150 part plus install.  I understand they need to mark up the part and service but really?!  We had a friend come over and look at the motor.  He was able to simply clean it out.  It works like a charm now.   What a rip off.

I signed up for their maintenance plan because my air conditioner is getting up there in age, and I want to extend its life as long as I possibly can. I looked at a different company that was cheaper, but they couldn't schedule me for a month. Fox could get to me in two days, so that was worth the extra dollars to me. The technician that came out, Richard, was on time, polite, friendly, and fast. He cleaned my filthy unit and assured me that he didn't see any problems. Peace of mind worth every penny. Thanks.

Had an appointment for 8a-noon window made several days before.  I called at 10:30  and 11:30 and was told I should hear from them soon, and that they would call 30 min before they arrived.  At 12:45 I called them to cancel because it was obvious they weren't even going to arrive within an hour past the end of the window.  No calls from them.  I cannot recommend.

I needed to have a ceiling fan worked on that I had hung myself. I had friends and family coming in the next day and they were able to accomodate a rush job.  They also fixed the fan in 20 minutes.  They were incredible.

I own an investment property near the UT campus and my tenant notified me that the central heat was not coming on. I called Fox that night and talked to a person at their answering service requesting service for the next day. I got a call that morning and the tech met me there around noon. It turned out that the electronic thermostat just needed to be reset. He just charged me for a service call. He was pleasant and efficient. Thanks Fox. Mark

Jonathan Willy (one of your Plumbing Techs) came out on a Saturday recently to fix our outside garden faucet. He works very fast but with quality in mind. He quickly made the fix. We also asked him to investigate a couple other plumbing questions we had and he was very positive and helpful. I always think, would I hire this person for my own business?....in this case, I would. You have an excellent employee who understands old-school customer service!

The only reason I'm giving them one star is because I have to in order to write a review, otherwise it would be no stars. We had Fox come out to service and clean our Mitsubishi mini split unit, which they assured me they knew how to do. The tech that came spent about two hours out with the unit doing I have no clue what because he obviously wasn't cleaning it. On top of this, he charged $500.  We called back the same day to speak to someone and had to leave a message, no return call, even after calling AGAIN. It's been a week now and we still have not received a return call. If I was you, I'd steer clear of this dishonest company and find someone who will treat you right. Read the reviews, I wish I had.

Had a plumbing sewer line backup that impacted the kitchen. Called Fox on Friday night. Got the callback on Saturday morning. Was told they had no availability until Tuesday! When I asked if they could provide any suggestions for other plumbers since this cannot wait 4 days, I was told they would not make suggestions. My suggestion is if you can't help, be helpful with referrals. I will NEVER use Fox for any services since they will only help if it benefits them with $$$.

I've used Fox since the mid 90's at two different homes each having two HVAC Systems. They are always easy to schedule, honest, efficient and have done me 'right'.  I have replaced whole systems with them and maintained my systems.  I highly recommend them.

Very pleased with service. I had trouble getting another electric company to show up for appointments, so was very happy with ability to get a fast appointment and for the work to be completed in same appointment. We have been using FOX exclusively since 2010 when they saved us from a 40K mistake had we listened to the lies told by ARS.  They fixed our plumbing problem for only 10K (a massive difference) and were professional and responsive.  Even the City of Austin inspectors who came by spoke so highly of the work done by FOX.  

This time, we came home from vacation, lowered the air from 81 to 78 and woke up to a puddle of water in the hall.  After calling in the morning, we couldn't get a tech here until tomorrow.  SURPRISE SURPRISE, we had a call within 30 minutes and they'd found us a tech.  Brett Stephens came by and initially couldn't find the trouble - our lines were clear and our unit wasn't freezing up - but he was persistent and hardworking and found a crack between two pipes hidden under some insulation.  He fixed it, no problem, and the bill was under $200.  

Thank you to him, thank you to the dispatchers who didn't give up on getting us a tech today.  THANK YOU!

As well, I am a stay-at-home mom with a young daughter, and each time we call FOX, it's us alone in the house with the tech and I have never ONCE felt nervous or afraid for myself or my child or my possessions.  They are good and honest people and this family gives them a HUGE thumbs up.  We are loyal customers of FOX.

We had a major plumbing problem. Sewage was leaking beside our house. Fox Service was 2 doors down and I asked them what was going on. Same problem. So they came over with their fancy equipment and stuck a camera down our line. Then they gave me an estimate that was several thousand dollars. I about choked...it was not in our budget. The guy then proceeded to tell me we had orange-berg pipe and that was a code violation and that he should turn me in. Orange-berg is some old pipe made of PAPER that was used long ago. I asked what if I had you come do the work and you found out it was a rusted old iron pipe. Would I still be out thousands of dollars? Yes! And you also are in violation because you do not have a certain drain tap at the end of your property.... So I called my trusty plumber...LC Parker (reviewed also on yelp). He came by using his low tech equipment and told me to call the city. The problem was on the city side! The city came out. They found we did have the drain tap that was required. Afraid to ask them because of the associated price and wanting to be on the right side of the law I asked what type of pipe do we have down there. The city looked and it was on old rusty iron pipe that did NOT need replacing even for wear! So boooooo FOX!! And BOO you more for trying to bully me into a high dollar repair by threatening to turn me in for code enforcement!

I called Fox Service to install dimmers  in about a dozen switches around my house, plus temporarily take down a large light fixture from a super high ceiling. The guys they sent out were extremely nice, super professional and did a great job. They came back a few days later to reinstall my light fixture and both times, they were right on time. Highly recommend this company!

Best service and sales experience ever.  Having a career in sales, I am very critical of salesmen.  Cary was professional, knowledgeable and informational.  He handled all of the paperwork and scheduling with the City of Austin rather than us having the manage.  Friendly relations between Cary and the City officials on our inspections showed evidence of the City's trust in the level of work that Fox has provided in the past, and we received all city rebates.  The veteran service crew were courteous and cautious to leave our house clean and tidy.
If you want to receive even more rebates than the City Officials know about, and to hire a team of efficient and professional installers, I fully recommend Fox Service Company.

Fox recently reorganized or was sold.  Disregard all old reviews as they are not about current management.  I had used them a year ago but did not know of the change.  Took two days to come out to fix AC.  I was specific that this was in a high rise condo, chilled water system, and I wanted someone who had been before at this very large building.  I told them the building engineer evaluated and told me I need a new actuator.  They gave me time range or 8 to 5, refused to be specific.  Fellow shows up at 4.  Looks at my system and say, I'm not qualified to work on this.  They sent another fellow.  5PM.  He got out the manual. Did not have a clue.  Muttering and cussing as he tried to figure things out.  645PM and we had to leave.  He did not bring an actuator on truck.  Called the next AM and asked to speak to a manager. 24 hours later no return call. These people are going to fail.  They are being banned from our building due to poor customer service.

I am a Priority One customer with Fox Service.  They check the heating system once a year and the a/c once a year.  It was easy to make the appointment for a morning when I was available.  They called about 30 minutes before the technician arrived to tell me he was on his way. was   The technician, Shelby McLeod, was professional and courteous.  He checked out the two heating systems that I have and everything checked out.  He replaced all of the filters in the system.  At the end he gave me an update on the system.  He did mention other everygy saving items that Fox offered.  Since I had already had most of them, he agreed I didn't need to do anything more.
I was very happy with his work.

I have been a Priority One customer since the epic freeze many years ago. This week it was the unexpected demise of my AC on a 100 degree, 80% humidity day. As the first technician,Carlos (great guy) said, in terms even I could understand, the unit was down & out. I have not bought a system in 11 years and then not from Fox, but I talked to Carlos first, then Mark, the Project Manager arrived with a very reasonable offer to replace the system, and by Wed. at 10:00 pm, I had a new system! Rodney and Geraldo started at 9:00 am, and though hot and later drenched, were absolutely meticulous with every bolt, wire, and test. I feel great about my purchase and even better about being a P1 client. Nice discount!!

I only call Fox when the other companies I called broke whatever it was I called for initially. Plumbing, electrical and HVAC. They have fixed several issues with a large commercial fridge, changed out an evaporator with a leak, tons of plumbing issues, and some small annoying electrical problems.

I think the price is high but well worth every penny.

Good deal. No issues. AC compressor quit turning late Friday afternoon. Hate when that happens. House started getting hot very quickly. Called Fox. Quoted $140 to show up this evening or $70 for tomorrow. I went for the asap option. Tech called me within an hour and came over. Fixed my AC within 30 minutes. It was a capacitor in the compressor. Two hours of downtime and $273 later, it's all good. I have no complaints. Would call them again.

We have a home that we always use Fox Service Company for our electrical, plumbing and heat/ac services.
One of our ac units went out of service and when I called to make an appointment it was the following business day they sent out a technician to check on it.  He worked over an hour to initiate the unit to start but it was very old and he recommended a new one be put in.  That afternoon the sales rep came to our home, gave us a quote and the following day the technicians arrived to put in a whole new system.  I have to commend them for working in this heat and in a very tight access area!  At the end of the day the work area was cleaner than when they started and they were incredibly polite and professional.  I give a big A+ to Fox Service Company for any of the services they provide.

Jeremy did an excellent job fixing our hot water heater, talking to us and explaining what he was doing and what our options were, the whole way. We really appreciated his great customer service.

Cody showed up at the scheduled time and did a complete check of our AC units.  This is our second experience with Cody and we were very happy both times.  FOX installed these units in 2010 and when we did have an issue with one of the units a couple of years ago, they were very quick to determine the problem and correct it.  We have been FOX customers since 2010 and have been very happy with their service.

Pay for what you don't get!

They came out for a yearly service on an admittedly old system we have. After getting lost and knocking on my neighbors door for ten minutes and then calling me to finally realize where they were, two young guys arrived. Were here for ten minutes, said they flushed out my lines, checked everything, basically an 18 point inspection, took only ten minutes, wow! They actually took more time trying to convince me to purchase a yearly inspection plan which, thank goodness, I did not do. Three weeks later my ceiling caved in from the condensation lines that backed up, the overflow did not work, automatic shutoff did not work nothing. Hundreds of dollars of repairs. When I called Fox to talk to them, they said they weren't responsible. All of the things they checked and said were either clean or operating properly would have kept the condensate lines from overflowing into my ceiling. They said they weren't responsible.
Go Green Heating and Cooling came out in an emergency call in 90 minutes and made sure everything was working properly and then didn't charge me.
A few weeks later, a Fox rep called and refunded the cost of our inspection; $109. I did appreciate that because the ceiling repairs cost over $600.

Our experience with Fox has been nothing short of outstanding every time we call.  The professionalism of their team is without equal.  They are not going to cut corners -- ever!  And while I read comments about cost in these reviews, the reality is that there are plenty of low quality cheap companies out there.  But when it comes to the systems in your home, your best bet for value is Fox.  My A/C went out on Saturday morning, and Fox had someone there within just a few hours.  With a 17 year old system I elected to replace it.  Their sales consultant, Mark,  was there on Monday, and the new system was completely up and running by Tuesday evening.  The installation team, led by Rodney, was respectful, diligent, and stayed until the job was done right.  Finally I have to add that not only did they leave the work area in our house cleaner than they found it, they picked up the dog poop around the work area in the back yard just to make sure they did not track it into the house -- SERIOUSLY, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!  I am a Fox fan, and highly recommend them to fellow Yelpers!

My wife called me from home one day and said it was hot in the house. Knowing some things about mechanical systems I went home a checked a few obvious things like breakers, thermostat and even looked for fire ants in the unit outside. The fan was not turning on the outside unit. I am the type of guy that wants something done right the first time. I called Fox Service Company and put in a service order. About two hours later, Eleazar showed up at my house and confirmed the problem was indeed the fan motor. (Clean, courteous, and clearly knew how to take care of customers.) Surprisingly he had the right motor on his truck and had it fixed in an hour. When it came time to pay I figured I was going to get hosed for something  this quick, but nope, it was much cheaper than I thought it was going to be. Mama's cool and I am happy. I recommend Fox Service Company to my friends and family.

I have been using Fox for air conditioning and plumbing repairs since 1994. They show up on time, the people they send are knowledegable, informative, polite and efficient. On 11-10-15 you sent Shawn Dunlap, who repaired the broken copper pipe and replaced the outside hose bib. Mr. Dunlap explained what he was going to do and why and completed the job in a timely manner. I have referred friends and neighbors to Fox with confidence and they have confirmed my expectations for quality work.

Yesterday I was looking at my electric bill and I noticed for the past 10 days, my daily usage was around 20 bucks. Can you say ouch. When my heat pump runs, the temp at the vent is never more that 75-80 degrees and takes hours to get the house temp up just a few degrees. So in my quest to lower my electric bills, I read that usually the cause is a clogged coil inside the air handler and is SIMPLE to clean. So I went to Lowe's and picked up 4 cans of foaming coil cleaner. Later on, when I got most of the covers off, I could see half of the coils were covered with a thick black soot which means they have never been cleaned. There is a metal cover in the shape of a pie in the middle of the coils with 4 screws. When I removed the screws, the cover still wouldn't come off. I was doing everything to get this cover off until I started to hear the hiss of doom. I looked closer to the source of the hiss and where the cover was stuck. Whoever installed this unit fox service co soldered the cover to one of the coolant lines. To me it looks as if it was done so when the homeowner goes to clean the coils and they can't get the cover off, they call the people at Fox because after all, their stickers are all over the unit.

Thanks to the shady practices of this company, I am out at least $3000 to replace the whole system.  I will NOT be calling Fox to have the system replaced.

Rude and unprofessional, unhelpful and arrogant are words to describe my experience.  They are all about the money, not what is best for the customer. Further reach out to management resulted in pushback that the technician is always right.  Please use anyone else, I had used Fox in the past and was satisfied now I wonder if I was ripped off back then too.

Our AC went out at 7pm on a Saturday night with 4 tired small children who needed to go to bed!  BUT it was 86 degrees in the house...insert Ramon Guerra with Fox AC Service Company after hours.  He was there in an hour--a little earlier than he had originally said!!  He called like he said he would and communicated very well.  And he kind, funny and knowledgeable.  He had the part he needed on his truck and fixed the unit in 1/2 an hour.  He even wore booties inside the house.   I am so thankful for him so my husband and I didn't have to load up a baby, toddler and two young kids and find a hotel room!!

We have a service contract with Fox Services for your HVAC units.  The units were pretty old and had begun to make more and more noise as they cycle on and off.  The technician gave us several options for repair/replace.  We chose to replace the units because of their age.  Fox had two crews out the next day to replace.  They were courteous and efficient.  They worked to get the units installed that day.  One unit had to be installed in the attic upstairs.  It was a tight fit, but the crew was able to get it through the small opening into the attic without damaging the opening or trim.  They were also very neat and cleaned up before they left.  I would recommend Fox Services.  They were professional and thorough.

Our renter had an AC issue and couldn't wait the 10 hours for Stan's in July heat, so he reached out to Fox. The issue was significant and pricey (new coil needed, $1700 repair) but my biggest complaint is that the first technician made a mistake and it took 5 visits total to get the issue resolved. They wasted my time, my tenants time and pricing wasn't competitive.

Fox Service Company, I love you.  We woke up to a hot house this morning.  I called Fox and told them we had three small children and  an adult with COPD.  They said they were already overbooked but would try to get someone out here today.  They called two hours later saying someone was on their way.  He arrived, replaced a capacitor and we were good to go.  Thank you Fox  Service Co.

Our A/C went out on Wednesday late afternoon. We are new to Austin and didnt know who to call.  We called Fox at 7:15pm and were told a tech would call us shortly.  I received a call at 7:49AM the next day from a woman asking if a tech had called us yet. I told her someone got back to us last night.  She simply hung up.  Wont ever call or recommend them.

Published 8/17/11 at 11 AM: Update from review below: This morning, the morning after Fox was supposed to come, I have received 2 phone calls from them. I did email them complaining about their poor service, or maybe they saw this review. Either way, the 1st person called to apologize and tell me for some reason their system had my order floating out there and not assigned to a tech. He said they would send one today at my convenience. An hour later, a customer care person called to apologize again and tell me that 1) a service person would come today with no service charge and was aware of the dangerous situation, 2) the operator who took my husband's call from the ER should have dispatched a tech immediately and that corrective action would be taken, and 3) they were very sorry for my inconvenience and hoped my son was okay. A tech should be here around the lunch hour, so we'll see, but I have to say they have done everything they could do to right the situation. I am impressed with their customer service as of right now.

Published 8/17/11 at 9 AM: My 10 yr old son electrocuted himself on Sat and was rushed to the ER with severe electrical burns and potential heart issues. Thankfully, he will recover over time, but we are GREATLY disappointed in Fox Service. My husband called them from the ER to get an electrician to the house ASAP to check/replace the outlet in his room. The operator said the soonest they could come was bw 8 am and 8 pm on Tues and someone would call 30 minutes ahead of arrival. We've had our son sleep in another room since, just to be safe. I kept both my kids home ALL day on Tues (their last week before school) waiting on the tech to show up. NO ONE CALLED OR CAME. An entire day wasted and my son still can't sleep in his room. We  are asking friends to refer us to more qualified electrical companies - funny thing, not one has mentioned Fox.

Initially, we were very happy.  Called them twice. Both times prompt arrival, professional service - very impressive.  They did a big job and we thought pricing was fair.  We decided Fox was it for us.  Then a cold shower: called for another drain clog in an old house.  Under 10 minutes and a sticker shock - $250!  So, we are going elsewhere now.

I've been a Fox customer for nearly three years for their plumbing and AC & Heating services. They've consistently proven to be a very reliable, professional, and responsive company.  They've done everything from replace our sewer line to the street, performed yearly inspections on the HVAC unit, installing a water shut off valve at the street, and replacing bathroom faucets.  But yesterday, I was wowed! At 1:30 p.m., I realized the AC wasn't working. It was nearly 100 degrees outside and the house was getting hot, fast!  I immediately called Fox.  They had a technician over at 2:15 that same SATURDAY afternoon and fixed it within the hour.  And they actually had the part for the old Bryant unit on their van.  The technician was very professional, as have all of their technicians over the years.  Scheduling is always a breeze and the prices are fair.  I strongly recommend Fox for all your service needs.  You won't be dissapointed!

Update: after placing this review FOX reached out to try to figure out what happened. After a few back and forths, they accused me of being a competitor. (Which I'm not) Then once my review went to the filtered section, they stopped responding to me. Classy.

My furnace/ac unit was over 16 years old and in desperate need of replacement.  I called Fox and the entire process was a breeze.  I placed my initial request online and received a call the very next morning.  The project manager came out and was very nice and professional.  He explained all my options clearly so that I fully understood what I needed so I could make an informed decision that was right for me and my home.  The technicians that did the work arrived on time, were very courteous and respectful of me and my home.  They worked quietly and efficiently and the whole job was done in less than 6 hours. I am very pleased with my decision to choose Fox and have recommended them to friends.

In general Fox Services has been very responsive and helpful, especially as a Priority One customer. The only concern I have has to do with our semi-annual heating and cooling inspections performed as part of that program. Essentially we have three outdoor units that are inspected and serviced each time. And, I sign off on the services performed each time, even though I don't follow each service rep around each time to make sure each step is actually performed. There are several steps to be performed for each inspection, and the on-site service times for each rep seem to vary enough to make me wonder whether all steps listed are actually performed each time. Plus, some reps seem to have one point of emphasis (like cleaning the coils) and other reps have other points of emphasis during their inspections. It's not that I don't trust the reps (our units work fine) but I'm really ignorant as to what I'm signing off on each time. Any suggestions?

I had Fox come out to my rental property on a Friday. I got a call from the service technician that a replacement was in order and some one from sales would be calling me Monday to follow up. Monday came and went and no call. Tuesday I called and explained to the person answering the phone that I was waiting on a call from sales to find out what i need to do to repair/replace the AC in the unit. Meanwhile this is a rental and the tenants were without air though still cooling by using the fan. No call back on Tuesday even though I had left a message. Weds came, I saw that I had been charged $55 more than the quoted service call fee and I still had not been called from sales. I called and spoke to someone else and explained the situation again. By then I had found someone else to do the replacement so I wasn't going to use them. I did want to resolve the over charge for service. I got a call finally from someone who ball parked an estimate and told me he would get back to me on the over charge. Thursday, still no call back on the over charge so I called him myself. They claim this is a legitimate charge as the service was performed (even though I was not called and I did not authorize this extra service). Really bad customer service. Unbelievable.

We used Fox Service to install new AC/heating duct work and do weatherization on our 31 year old house. From start to finish we have been very pleased with the work done. Joseph Tice did the initial evaluation and formed a plan to update and upgrade a deteriorating duct system. He did an exceptional job coordinating with Austin Energy  to qualify us for their PowerSaver program offering rebates on work done. Joseph is highly professional, was responsive to our needs, and was very thorough. The team he sent to our home was equally impressive and we would like to give a shout out to Chris, Willy, Juan and Shelton. We have had many service technicians do work on various projects at our home through the years but this team was by far the best. They were efficient with their time, seemed quite knowledgeable, were conscientious and respectful. They did a great job cleaning up after the work was done too!  We would definitely recommend Fox Service for any AC/heating needs.

Bad experience with A/C service.  I paid about twice as much as my neighbor paid for similar repairs and had to deal with a service tech who misrepresented what needed to be replaced.  I will not call this company again.

Mr. Carlos Gonzales was the service technician assigned to do my new (June 2014) A/C/Heating system's heat check. I received a call much earlier than expected and was offered the earlier time although I was then at an appointment across town. The person calling was gracious and said that my tech would arrive as previously scheduled, but I would still receive a call 30 prior to arrival,  which I did. Mr. Gonzales was courteous, identified himself prior to entering the house, was a wealth of information about my system. He explained in advance what he would be checking and how he would be doing it. Step by step he checked in with me explaining at which stage he was at. I could not be more pleased with this appointment. It represents another superb example of customer service which is not always found in large operations nor in service companies, in my past experience. He knew his stuff, explained it to me in language that made sense without making me feel like a feeble old crone. Respectful, low key manner, friendly but above all, knowledgeable and efficient.
