Lykos Electrical, Heating & Air Conditioning

I was recommended to Lykos by my realtor when I first bought a home and it was the BEST recommendation ever!  Fairly priced, thorough and efficient work and the best communication I've encountered from any contractor! I've had Martin replace two electrical boxes, outdoor GFCI units, indoor replacement of overhead lighting and a proper plug for my new HVAC sump pump. Fair, honest, reliable, incredibly helpful and my word he's tall!  He barely needs a ladder in many instances and when you're barely 5'4 that's impressive! I'll be moving and wish I could fly him out to my new home!

Lykos is great! Martin and Judah came out to give me a quote and put much more work into figuring out my situation and the possibilities than any other company by far. I received their estimate within a few days and booked the job.
They showed up on scheduled day prepared and finished the job fast and within the given quote. They left the work area clean as well as ensuring I was happy with their work. I would totally hire again without question. Highly recommend Lykos.

I have been using Lykos for 4 years now - they have replaced my outside AC unit, fixed AC drain issues, made multiple timely maintenance calls, and most recently tested and replaced outside GFCI unit.  I have found them always to be extremely knowledgeable, fair, honest, reliable, and helpful.

I would and do recommend them to anyone I know.  Martin and his son have completed most of the house calls, and I think Martin's daughter does most of the booking...excellent local family business.

Martin and his team came back out today to install a second Nest Cam in our backyard (we saw great value in having the front door one!). He and his team installed the camera with great ease, while also advising me of 2-3 areas where the camera would have the most impact.

On the way out, Martin was thorough in cleaning up, and even went above and beyond to secure and close up an electrical box in my attic that had some exposed wires (and didn't charge me extra for it, which was nice).

This is a fantastic family owned business! Today was the first time I used them and I will definitely be using them again! They were able to diagnose and correct a problem with wired smoke alarms that was caused by my tenant disabling the system. I'm very grateful for their professional and competent service!

Professional, friendly, thorough, and upfront!

I went with Lykos for several reasons. They offer weekend hours and they were upfront about possible costs and repairs over the phone. This is great to help one with planning and budgeting.

The serviceman that helped fix our AC unit was Martin and his son. Martin was quick to respond and communicated throughout the process of arriving, potential repairs, and explained what the issue was. They made sure I saw that the unit was working before they left.

They were also friendly and professional. You can tell they took the time and thoroughness to do their work. They in no way rushed the process at all.

Overall, strongly recommend and will be happy to hire them again in the future for AC/Heating servicing.

We called Lykos Electric and AC after a series of events that were out of our DIY scope.  

Our Trane AC stopped pushing heat at the beginning of winter.  We were still diagnosing the issue when an outlet in another part of the house caught fire (likely overloaded by our space heater) and we luckily noticed the smell of smoke.  

Lykos scheduled 2 appts. and sent an AC tech to the first one and Martin and his son arrived later for the electric issue.  All appts were scheduled with text notification and text updates which was very efficient and professional.  I was able to ask a few questions via text for clarification, and both teams arrived promptly per their appt. times.

But the most important thing is that they were very professional and obviously beyond pros.  They had our heat working within an hour.  After changing the burned outlet, they diagnosed the culprit which exposed a huge silent problem spanning years.  They tightened wires all over the place and made things much more secure, but they also discovered areas that are not fully code compliant (even though previous work had passed inspection). They mapped out the additional work needed for us to get everything up to code and gave us a priority list.   I won't consider using anyone else for the next phase of work.  Martin and his team are wonderful, dependable, fair and competent.  

I'm really happy we found them and I'd highly recommend Lykos Electric and AC for any AC or electric work needed.

The service from the team at Lykos was top notch and thorough. There is a glitch somewhere in my house wiring that has caused a series of ceiling lights and wall outlets not to work. They came on two occasions and spent several hours each visit searching through the entire electrical circuitry of the house without finding the glitch. They were not comfortable offering a less-than-safe make-do solution, which I appreciate and respect. They did not charge me for any of their time in this endeavor. I am impressed with their thoroughness, honesty and professionalism and highly recommend them.

Martin and Lykos did a nice job replacing some old recessed lighting fixtures with some updated fixtures in our living room. It was a small project and I got some crazy quotes from highly Yelp rated competitors. Lykos offered a much more reasonable price and did a great job of keeping our living room clean while doing some messy work.

I needed help with a sizable number of small to mid-size electrical projects - from installing canister lights to adding electrical outlets to fixing several problem areas in our electrical box.  After vetting 4 companies, I selected Lykos based on their thorough, prompt and reasonable estimate. Lykos showed up on time, did the work efficiently, neatly and on schedule.  This is a gem of a family-owned business - at one point I stopped by and they had the father, two sons, a daughter, a cousin, and a family friend all working in concert!  Highly recommend.

We feel lucky to have found yall! Lykos Services was quick to respond to us and come out, easily able to diagnose the problem we were having, and make the repair. They are knowledgeable, transparent, and trustworthy. We would recommend them to our friends and family and they absolutely have our business the next time we need help!

Arturo was extraordinarily effective and kind. Martin arranged for him to come to our home immediately upon hearing that we had no AC overnight. The fix was completed for a very fair price and I look forward to call Lykos again for both HVAC and electrical issues.

Lykos has been out to my place twice, once to rewire a room and a second time to diagnose and fix lighting in my hallway and kitchen.  Both times were very positive experiences as Martin is very courteous and competent.  He went into detail regarding my electrical problems and solutions, so I always understood what he was doing and why.  It's hard to find a good electrician for a reasonable rate in Austin which is why I can recommend Lykos without any reservations.

Martin and his team do an amazing job. We had an old house with aluminum wiring. They fully rewired it and redid all of our AC duct work for a fair price. Even put in Cat6 Ethernet throughout for us.

We ran into issues with our handyman and drywallers but Martin was always patient and helpful, even coming out to fix an AC issue that was separate from the original job.

Can't recommend these guys enough if you need work done in the Austin area.

Great service and high quality work. Completely replaced aluminum wiring in 1960's house and brought electrical system up to current code. Minimized damage to drywall, floors, etc.  They are a family owned business and take pride in their work. The project lasted months as other aspects of home remodeling interrupted their schedule but they were extremely flexible and responsive. Will definitely use them for all electrical needs in the future.

Martin and his team are the best! I have had them out to work on my air conditioner a handful of times and couldn't be happier with their customer service and technical expertise. They even followed up a few days after the repair to make sure things were working as they should.

This was a fantastic experience.  Martin and his crew (son Judah and Arturo or Antonio?) were the 3-man crew throughout.  Very knowledgeable, professional and approachable.  I had assorted smaller jobs (though they also included upgrading my circuits/electrical panel.
I was also impressed with the quote and the fact that my job wasn't wedged in between a bigger/more important job.  The job was accomplished from start to its finish, as though mine was the only job that mattered.  I appreciate that.  I would definitely use Lykos again, in fact, I am already starting a list of other projects that I'd like to do.

My husband and I hired this company awhile back to install a med-large pendant light fixture in our Living Room.  A very fine and respectable job was provided to us by this company.   We were impressed enough by the initial work that a walk-a-bout of the home ensued as a few other basic, mainstream electrical-related items were needed (three new bathroom exhaust fans were requested, one or two additional wall outlets andd wall switches with coordinating/corresponding wall plates, etc.  The company installed a temporary wall plate and a rocker switch plate for same in my Living Room  - and were to return in the very near future to switch these out with the correct color and finish (for the sake of expediency because the Matte Finish/Snow color was being special ordered by this company and thus could not be installed readily).  They were to return with the correct products as well to commence further requested annd discussed work to be done (work the company spokesperson indicated could certainly be  accomplished by the company and the company would send on in short order a cost proposal for same).  The reason my husband and I have rated this company no more than a single star is because the cost submittal was interminably slow to finally reach us and in the meantime no one from the company ever showed back up to install the correct finish/color wall switch plate and rocker switch.  In the proposal we finally received we saw that the homeowners were expected to determine which bathroom exhaust fans were appropriate and also the homeowners would be expected to procure the fans.  The exterior step light fixture we were told this company would look into and come up with an alternate for -- this also ended up  on the submittal as an item they weren't sure they could necessarily address/take care of.  It was almost six months ago that this company did the initial light fixture and wall plate/rocker switch installation and, astoundingly, no entity from the company has ever  returned to install the proper wall plate and switch (not to mention caring at all to finally address the other remaining electrical items).  So, ultimately, we have certainly been left with a less than positive impression of this company.

Really appreciate the electrical work that Martin and his son completed for us. We will be using them for some upcoming a/c and electrical needs in the near future.

I called Martin when my grandmother's water heater was on the fritz due to electrical panel issues and he was fantastic. Fast, professional, and very responsive. I can't say enough positive things about Martin Villalobos and his crews. He was first recommended to me by my realtor when we bought an older home 4 years ago. He has fixed my duct work and my a/c unit before the furnace went kaput and we decided to replace our entire HVAC system. Martin ensured we found the best unit in our price range. His crews were very respectful of our home (protecting the carpet, being quiet especially during the babies naps, arriving on time, explaining everything step by step). We hired Lykos to replace the electric panels on our house after getting quotes with several other electricians in-town. We were very pleased with their promptness, professionalism, and the quality of their work, which far exceeded our expectations. On two occasions our house threw then some curve-balls and they were able to adapt quickly.   They were also affordable and worked efficiently to minimize the time we were without power. We were thrilled with our experience and would happily refer them to friends and family!

I called 4 different companies who all misdiagnosed my Air Conditioning problem. Then I could only get appointments 6 weeks out.  One company took pity on me and phoned several contractors to find a repair specialist who would schedule sooner.  It was Martin Villalobos at Lykos.
Martin ordered the part and arrived the following day. But by then, my sick friend's AC had gone out. I asked Martin to help - he took an old part from my unit to fix my friend's AC, then fixed mine.  Thank goodness!  
A few weeks later, my condensation line was blocked.  Martin arrived same day and fixed it same day. He even braved my somewhat protective dog in order to fix my AC while I was caring for my friend.
Words cannot convey my respect and admiration for Martin and his company, Lykos Electric. My friends forever.

Martin was referred to me by a friend to correct the problems noted in the inspection before I bought my home. What a polite professional!  He did a top notch job of correcting the electrical hazards in my home & installing our new HVAC system. He went above & beyond, was always on time, and thoroughly explained everything, including costs. His son Jude and Antonio are also very reliable.
