Recently used Vetsbuilt Contracting to do some remodeling in my home of 29yrs. Remodeling while living in your home is not an easy process, however DJ and his crew were so easy to work with. The work was done promptly and efficiently. 1500 sq ft. of wood look ceramic tile layed perfectly. They also turned my upstairs loft into an in home office space. I am so happy with both. The transformations are quite impressive. The office looks like it has always been there. I highly recommend Vetsbuilt. I originally went with them because they support our troops. I just finished my third home improvement project with Kent, Details Remodeling. Each time I work with Kent the end result is 10/10 quality. He is careful about my home while working, and cleans up behind himself 100%. He's straight up about his availability, and if you have to wait a couple weeks he's worth it.
I've used Kent for demolition, drywall, electrical, minor plumbing, built-in shelving, and to tile my entire main floor. He has the right equipment, uses his time (and mine) well. I appreciate his use of email and texting for communications and photos of my ideas; it's convenient for me to respond around my work time and not have to schedule a time to be at the home for easy stuff like that.

My husband and I wanted some work done asap. We called D & D on a holiday weekend and my call was answered! I was able to speak to Dion, the owner, and we set up an appointment for 7am immediately following the holiday. Dion was TIMELY, ENTHUSIASTIC, and HONEST about the work we wanted done. We got an estimate that was beyond reasonable for the following:
1. Cabinet repainting (kitchen and two other bathrooms)
2. Granite replacement (kitchen and two of the bathrooms)
3. New sinks AND faucets (kitchen and two of the bathrooms)
4. New hardware for all cabinets
5. Rebuilding a shower (subway tile, new floor, new doors and faucet)
6. Replacing a washer connector
7. New medicine cabinets in two of the bathrooms
He began the work on the following Monday after we hammered out some details. Dion was there on time with a whole crew. They were all beyond courteous and began working right away and continued to work hard all day, every day. Dion was extremely responsive as to progress and any questions we had! The job moved along just as described!
Some dust/ventilation issues came up, unexpectedly, however, and we had to stay away from the house longer than expected because we have three very small children. Dion was not only apologetic, but he was willing to do what it took to rectify the situation. He went above and beyond to ensure we were safe and comfortable.
The work was 100% completed by Saturday, with Dion at the house personally seeing to the project's completion! He checked and double checked the work done, and the whole house was cleaned up! Dion even followed up with us on Monday to see if anything came up over the first couple days. Of course, the work is outstanding, but even the smallest of requests was met with a great attitude and an offer to come out that day.
Dion continued to impress us with his professionalism and competence (two things that you never know if you're going to get when it comes to contractors)! My husband said to me, He (Dion) didn't just take care of the job, he took care of our family.
We will be using D & D Construction for all of our future needs (and you should too)!

From the first day that I met Irving, I felt that he was a man of good character. I would not have hired him past that day if I thought otherwise. Throughout the course of the project he took on for my client, he continued to exemplify that good character in addition to his amazing workmanship. 10:30 am We ordered two ceiling fans and a remote on Amazon thinking we would take advantage of their new Amazon Home Services Group. Our experience was horrible outside of Amazon's normal amazing delivery speed. The day of the installation we received a window of between 11am and 2pm. Kyle from I'm Gonna Fix It called and said they were wrapping up with another client and would be there around 3pm. A gentleman named Chris showed up at 4:30pm and started to work on installing our fans. He pulls me aside before he is done and says We can bill your second fan through Amazon, or if you can pay cash we will do it for 80.00 instead. Amazon charges us a 20% service fee so we can offer a cash discount.
We are so far behind schedule my wife has time to stop and grab the money on the way home from work. Right before he leaves he comes back and says Hey I don't have a screwdriver to put the batteries in the remote. He then leaves without testing it, so we had no idea if it would work. Needless to say, the remote won't sync with the system he installed so I call them up and ask them to fix it or remove the unit so we can send it back.
Chris comes out again, this time, he doesn't have a ladder, even though he needed one the first time, so we let him use ours. (What kind of a service comes without a screwdriver or a ladder?), tests the unit, then tells me Because the unit is defective we have to bill you 65.00 for the hour I was here, but not to worry Amazon will most likely cover the error because the unit was defective. So now they want Amazon to pay us back for their mistake.
His office calls to bill us and I ask them Why are we paying you to remove something that you didn't test on installation. If the tech actually tested the unit and didn't just leave, then we wouldn't be having a second service call. She says, Ok I'll call the owner and ask what we can do.
Less than five minutes later Chris shows back up at my house asking me, What's the problem, and that it was ok to bill us because we let him leave without testing it. It's not only extremely unprofessional to send a service tech back to your front door (not to mention the same one that didn't test the unit) to try and argue on behalf of the company, it borders on intimidation. I wouldn't agree that it was our fault that he didn't test the product he installed and I asked him to leave. The then promptly charged us the 65.00 for the hour. I will never be using Amazon's Home Services again; I'll stick with hiring my Rosie on the House certified contractors.

It doesn't do me any good when I tell the tech that I have a screwdriver available to put that batteries in, and he says it's fine and goes home. It wouldn't have done me any good this morning to send the man away because he showed up without a ladder when I had one he could use. It definitely didn't do any good to ask your company to make the service call right, because then I had a tech show back up at my house to blame me for his inability to put in batteries, and properly test something he installed.
The good news is there are companies out there that go above and beyond to make things right. Amazon refunded us your service fee of 65.00 and for the remote within the hour when we emailed them. Personally, I was shocked that they would cover a fee, that should have never been charged. It wasn't Amazon's fault we picked the wrong company off of the list to have come to our home. None of that mattered to Amazon, they made it right, and did it quickly, securing our continued business with them for a very long time.
As for offering to put in the new remote for free well I think you can see how we might not think of that as a plus. The last one cost us part of the initial 80.00 (fan installation), and an additional 65.00 (due to reasons listed above).

Instead, I talked to someone on the phone that said she would talk with the owner, had a technician show back up at my house to argue the point (which is not great service or professional), and then got a call three minutes later to pay because you felt it was due regardless.
Again I can't say enough good things about Amazon for erasing most of what turned out to be a horrible experience.
2:37pm Finally made it back in my bedroom tried to turn on the fan to take a nap and it doesn't even turn on manually now.
2:55 After a little investigation it seems the tech wired the fan to a different wall switch for the light and the fan, which he didn't do before. We are hiring another company to check the work.

Several years has passed and Sunset Tile & Bath did an amazing job(s) for us in our going on 20-year old home. The baths (3) and kitchen with a completely different footprint is amazing. Doug was great and everything I hoped for. I had some damage to the drywall, door trim, and baseboard in my bathroom due to a very displeased Labrador I was dog sitting and shut in the bathroom while I ran to the store. Lesson learned. Thanks to Doug though the damage is undone and you can't even tell it was there to begin with. He was so professional I even felt comfortable leaving him with a key to lock up when he was finished as I was unable to stay the entire time. I came back to a brand new looking wall and I'm very happy with his work. Will definitely use his service in the future!
