Best Gas Furnace Repair in Cincinnati OH
I am more than happy to pay someone for their expertise and that's exactly what I received from technician Ryan - we discussed my options for my sink disposal and leaky faucet and he even offered me some helpful tips, as well as what to expect and a reasonable estimate (should I get in over my head trying to do it myself.)
As someone in the at-risk category during a health crisis, it was important to me that PPE was used and it was nice to see that up front from Quality Comfort! They have a contactless payment method which was very easy to use. Manager Elizabeth was prompt in setting up the appointment via Yelp as well!

I contacted this outfit via email, on March 19, 2021. It is now April 20. They have not responded. Here's what I asked of them:

Hello,
We want to replace a very old heat pump with an American Standard (Gold 17 or Silver 16) and I'd like to schedule a time for you to inspect what we have and provide a quote. However, I may be outside of your service area. I'm 10 miles beyond Lowe's Home Improvement, in Hamilton Ohio.
Please map the following address and let me know if you can provide your service:
[Provided my address here.]
If you don't serve my location, then I'd appreciate it if you could recommend an American Standard installer who does.
Thank You

I suppose they were just too busy to care.

I'm not one to write reviews normally so it takes an extremely great (or bad) experience to move me to do so. Since moving to the area in August 2012, I have used Geiler exclusively for seasonal HVAC tune-ups and service calls for intermittent issues with our furnaces. I must say, and this is no exaggeration, the best contractor experiences I've ever had have been with Geiler! Brad and Tim have been punctual, friendly, very knowledgeable and trustworthy. The issues with our furnaces are not easily diagnosed and they were honest about the issues. They helped brainstorm solutions and suggested alternatives. Because there haven't been specific problems, it would be easy to suggest costly fixes which may not result in any improvement. They have never suggested anything of the sort - just straightforward, honest representatives who go out of their way to help. I've been very impressed with Geiler and have recommended them to numerous people. I highly recommend Geiler!

have had other positive experiences with this company but today was a poor representation of their service and personnel. I needed an estimate on replacing a bathroom ceiling fan and replacing a couple snake alarms. I had already bought one replacement smoke alarm. I was quoted $50 to replace both smoke alarms, $49 trip charge, and $120 for a Level 1 diagnostic on the bathroom exhaust fan.
He said $200 to $300 more if a new motor was required, or $500 to $600 if new housing required. I told him that was too much for the fan, so just the smoke alarms. He then told me he was not charging me enough if he takes out the fan work and had to raise the price on the smoke alarm installations.
I told him he already quoted me and could not change the price and he said I had not signed an estimate yet and just looked at me. I then called the office and told them I was not paying a trip charge and asked to talk to his manager but he was not in. I was on hold for another manager but my phone disconnected while holding.
The gentlemen then said he would call someone, out then on speaker, and proceeded to lie to the person (Bob?) saying he had told me when he quoted me he was giving me a deal on smoke alarm installation for doing the bathroom exhaust fan work. I told the gentlemen in the phone this was never told to me, I would like his worker to leave, and I expected not to see a trip charge. The gentlemen on the phone told the electrician to take him off speaker phone, then the guy got up and said he was told to leave and left the house.
I am very disappointed in having someone try to jack up the price after a quote and then lie about it on the phone. This was unprofessional and while I suspect this is likely an isolated incident and employee, it reflects poorly on the company as a whole.

They were prompt, courteous, thorough and professional! When contacting any service company, I'm always nervous about the quality of care I'll receive. Thankfully, Wingate Mechanical exceeded my expectations and I was completely satisfied with their help!

When we moved here from Texas, I expected a transition period for finding great home repair service companies. Having worked in the property management industry for over 20 years, I had some stellar ones and was hoping for the same in northern Kentucky.
Since 2003 we have used 5 and finally found our one. Arlinghaus Heating & Air Conditioning is the service company we will recommend anytime we are asked. We built a new home in 2005/2006 and installed a Water Furnace geothermal system. There we many problems throughout the install but finally had things according to specifications. We then purchased a service agreement, we're unhappy with our provider, went through several other companies and found Arlinghaus in 2010.
The service techs are unfailinging polite, conscientious and honest. When the compressor went out, Brandon made several repair recommendations based on our situation. Wanting to make sure we did the right thing, we consulted 2 other companies. One gave us an outrageous quote for repair of a warranted problem, also stating that the original install capacity for return air was insufficient and the other after an evaluation of the system they installed, denied problems (other than the compressor replacment being necessary). The tech cold not give me a price and never called back with a repair estimate. Ever.
When Brandon called on a Saturday to see if we were up and running, we relayed that no, our a/c was still not working. He immediately offered to bring us emergency a/c units to carry us through the hot, long weekend or until repairs could be made. He was at our home within 45 minutes and had us cooling down after 3 long weeks with no a/c. We asked that he order our compressor and complete the repair. Our parts were ordered and installed the next week and at a price lower than the original estimate.
To sum it all up, we highly recommend Arlinghause for their top notch service. They do what they say they will, when they say they will and are honest with their work. Brandon didn't try to talk over my head with technical jargon and saved our family from misery when it counted the most. You won't go wrong with this company servicing your home's heating and a/c needs.

I never take the time to write negative posts, although in my experience, that'd be over half the reviews I would give.
We bid out our new HVAC job to 4 companies and chose Schneller Knochelmann (SK) because of their tremendous testimonials and some family history with using the brand.
Boy was that a mistake.
April 2018, we purchased a home and had SK come out to estimate the project which included measuring and sizing the systems.
May 2018, two systems installed (attic and crawl space), but weren't currently being used as the house was being completely renovated.
June 2018, we turn the systems on and they won't hold a cool temp or expel the humidity.
SK came out and found they had jammed an extra filter in the crawl space furnace even though the return filter was now in the house.
They let the units outside which froze up dethaw and got them back running... Good enough.
August 2018 Installed Solid Hardwood floors in the house. Huge investment. Excess humidity in the house, condensation on the windows, averaged 70-80% humidity throughout the home. Our new flooring cupped, then buckled blowing off baseboards and pushing through drywall while ruining the floors. Systems adjusted by SK 2x over the course of a week after being notified about this.
September 2018 SK comes back and remeasures and admits to oversizing BOTH systems in the house, so they were cooling the house, but not removing humidity. Systems replaced and adjusted several times.
Systems STILL won't reduce the humidity to a healthy level (TWO SYSTEMS) so a crawl space dehumidifier is recommended. For 3k. But not in April - August, just now in September. Crawl space is encapsulated and dehumidifier is added.
SK's insurance cuts check to replace flooring (we are now displaced an additional 6 weeks from moving in).
October 2018 Downstairs is close to holding humidity, upstairs is not. SK recommends a dehumidifier for UPSTAIRS now in addition to the one in the crawl space. For 3k.
House finally holding proper humidity level.
Nest thermostats installed by SK keep adjusting on their own, without any schedules, calendar or learning on. They were alerted, never followed up. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Nest and had to reset both units including checking the wires behind them for shorts (because yeah, that should be something the homeowner should have to do). The App still doesn't properly work with the units. I'll be asking for new ones next.
November 2018 Our contractor notices a HUGE puddle of water in the crawl space (now encapsulated) under the furnace. SK comes out and says they forgot to hook up a coupling to the drain line. They fix it, then leave. And leave the mess of all the water that leaked out (8 beach towels worth of sopping up). And although this last part isn't the biggest deal, its certainly the last straw.
Hope you have a 4.8 star experience if you choose to go with SK, sadly our experience was anything but...

I have used a few different HVAC and plumbing companies over the years and these guys are by far the best! Very honest and the work is reasonably priced. They won't try to sell you on anything you don't need and give great advice. I originally called them for a plumbing issue and they were able to come out the same day! I decided to use them for my annual HVAC check ups and they were able to fix my humidifier without a huge cost.
Advice: Make sure to call them well in advance for a furnace checkup as they can get booked out pretty quickly (like most companies).

We needed a new water heater installed ASAP. I set up a package deal at a local home improvement store that included installation and was referred to the folks over at KW Mechanical. Two gentlemen showed up the same day and although they were both nice and polite the lead guy was clearly looking for reasons they couldn't do the job. I was told my flue was not venting properly and would have to have an HVAC person come over and fix the problem. A local HVAC person stopped by later the same day, checked the flue and venting and said it was fine. He explained the flue needs a heat source to actually reverse the flow of air outward. He demonstrated this and the flue vented just fine. By now, it was too late to have the installers come back out and when I talked to someone at KW Mechanical they were still resisting doing anything until the flue was redesigned to their liking. So I cancelled this install and went to another home improvement store and purchased a combo package that included the water heater and the install. Strangely enough I was referred to this same company but quickly cancelled them in favor of another installer who never called me back. Long story short, I found another installer who came out this morning (Saturday), did the job in a short amount of time, went over everything with me, showed me how to operate the water heater, and gave me a flat price for the job which was significantly cheaper than this company was going to charge (BTW, KW Mechanical was going to nickel and dime me on every little thing). Oh, and he also checked the flue and it worked just fine. So bottom line -- don't waste your time with KW Mechanical.
