I contacted Big Blue for a simple job of cleaning out/tweaking my gas boiler to get it burning below 100PPM carbon. I needed this so that I can get insulation and other jobs done by MassSave at my house, and the carbon measurement is a pre-requirement. MassSave will pay for up to $350 of the price for this boiler work, so of course I wanted to get it done. The only requirement is to have the contractor fill out a form saying they are licensed and did the measurements of the carbon and what they were and send that in along with the invoice so I can get reimbursed.

Called Big Blue, explained them the job, and they set a time to come out. They said they would arrive between 9am and 11am and arrived at around 10:58am. They did not call to remind me or anything so I almost thought they weren't coming but they did show up just barely in time.

I was under the impression that they understood what the work was going to be and were going to complete it on that day. Turns out that appointment was just to give me an estimate. $250 - ok, great I said - that will be paid by MassSave, all you have to do is say that you can fill out this MassSave form for me (as required) and we'll be good to go. Of course we can fill it out. OK, great.  Made another appointment about a month out.

The morning the appointment was supposed to happen I get a call from Big Blue and they say they need to reschedule - their equipment is broken - they need to get new equipment. Would have been nice to get some notice, but ok... I reschedule.

We are now over 1 month out from my original MassSave appointment. Big Blue comes, actually does the work, everything seems great. I ask them if they can fill out the form, the guy says he doesnt have all the needed info but he will bring it back and drop it in my mail-slot the next day. Needless to say that did not happen.

Over the last weeks I have called Big Blue multiple times. I have left them a message (which they never once returned) three times. I have got them on the line by calling back later twice, both times they expressed concern and said they would send the form ASAP. Still... I don't have it. Let it be known I also have not received my bill.

At this point, I'm not going to be able to get the rebate from MassSave unless they can grant me an extension... which I shouldn't even in my mind be required to have to deal with and ask for because I went through all the steps to make Big Blue aware of my situation. If Big Blue never sends me a bill... well , okay ... but what happens when they do send me a bill ? Do I pay it ? Does MassSave reimburse me?

This is not the professionalism I expect from a company. They did good work, and I'm sure they do good work. They talk friendly on the phone and everything, and they seem like nice people, but it just seems like they really don't have it together at all when it comes to timing or anything that has a schedule.

1) They showed up right at the edge of their window, without even calling the day before to remind me. [Could let this slide, if not for everything else]
2) They canceled my 2nd appointment on the day of due to equipment failure which they should have known about in advance, since this is a common type of job.
3) They do not deliver paperwork on schedules needed, despite multiple polite requests, and one angry request. (Thought maybe getting mad would help, it didn't really make a difference)
4) They do not send the bill in a timely manner, which requires more intensive balancing of my finances to ensure that I can pay the bill when it arrives. (Fine, its $250... not that much for some people or even me... but imagine it was more ?? would they still do this?? I would not want a bill of any substantial amount of money hanging over my head in some limbo... not cool. I would have preferred the bill at time of service and paid in full !

All in all , I can't feel comfortable recommending them, unless you are very very patient and don't need your bills or anything in a timely manner.

Mike is the best! Leave a message and gets back to you right away. He's the best deal around. Only works in East Cambridge and only does certain jobs.

Had a new washing machine delivered, the Home Depot delivery guys didn't hook it up, saying there was corrosion on the pipes and the drainage pipe was non-standard.

Called Greg, he had an opening right then and was at my place in 20 minutes. He took a look, determined there was no actual problem with the pipes, hooked up the washing machine and did some quick troubleshooting and verification to ensure that it was functional, and got everything working nicely.

He and his partner were nice, professional, and clearly good at what they do. I'll definitely be calling him any time I need plumbing assistance.

Jerry was very friendly and professional, and I felt comfortable having him in my home to work on our plumbing issue. He saved us a good amount of money, assuring me that he could fix our shower valve with a replacement part, instead of getting a whole new system installed (we returned that system to home depot). He came by at 3:30pm, called up a plumbing supply place, went and got the part, and got it all done by 5pm! Highly recommended, and I will be calling J&B's plumbing from now on whenever I need a plumber.

Angel provides excellent service from the beginning to the end and beyond.

My water heater stopped working in the winter and I noticed a leak in it so I needed the service right away. I contacted Angel and he showed up within an hour to inspect the problem.
The heater was out of warranty and needed to be replaced so he took care of the whole thing the same day for a fair price. Btw our condo is on the third floor and the heater was in a very tight spot so it was not an easy job.

Moreover, he went above and beyond to make small plumbing fixes in our house with no extra charge.

Finally, he also noticed a faint leak coming from the roof where our furnace vents were and sent his friend roofer to fix it for us the very next day!

I'd say he's the best in the area and believe me I've looked around.

Consolidated Plumbing is top notch.  Mitch did a bathroom remodeling job for us with Doug Rausch as contractor several years ago.  They gutted our bathroom down to the studs and completely remodeled it.  Mitch's plumbing work was a work of art, and Doug's carpentry and tile work was excellent.  We had done a previous bathroom remodel with another company, and Consolidated was far superior.   We have made use of their plumbing services with Tommy since then, and we've been very happy with Tommy's work and Jodi's front office services.  Thank you Consolidated!!!

Wayne is the best! I had a problem with my toilet tank and he talked me through it over the phone! He explained everything really well and was so helpful.

We have used SDH Plumbing twice in the past few months for a single family rental we own in Waltham.    They are able to respond quickly and are able to make the needed repairs at a reasonable price.  Our tenant was very pleased with the service provided by the plumber (Mark).    Lisa and Jamie (office staff) are very helpful and responsive.  I cannot believe I am the first to review on yelp. as SDH has numerous stellar reviews on other platforms.   As a long-distance landlord it is essential to have trustworthy, reliable service providers like SDH Plumbing.

I used Scott for a bathroom remodel. He gave me very good advice when it came to the planning and design phase, helping me make good choices for my needs. Once work commenced he addressed issues right away and communicated them to me clearly, while providing options for various solutions to keep the project moving.

If you want an experienced crew who use best practices for long lasting quality work then give Scott a call. For quality craftsmanship and years of industry knowledge be prepared to pay a little extra, prices are fair, and Scott stands by his work, so it's well worth it.

I had a leaking pipe, or so I thought.  I called and Brian came out same day, diagnosed where the leak was really from and he found a leaking toilet seal and flange issue.  He quickly fix the problem.  Great service and workmanship at a reasonable cost.  I will use Damaso again.

Mario showed up within a couple of hours and price was very reasonable.

Hinchey Brothers Plumbing is Great! Sam did a boiler tune up in the beginning of January. Marlene the Office Manager contacted me the day before
my appointment and on the day of the appointment regarding Sam's arrival time.Sam maintained precautions wearing a mask. He was very professional/polite and on time. The tune up didn't take long.I have been using Hinchey Brothers for years! I highly recommend them!!!!

Two plumbers I called never got back to me until 2 days later. I called foster plumbing at 10am. They sent a tech and apprentice to my house by 12pm of the same day. They fixed the leak within 1 hour. Ronnie and jake thanks again. Great guys and great services.

I feel very happy and relieved that I found Jonny. As a new homeowner, I was very anxious when my water heater started leaking. I immediately started looking online for a plumber including Angie's List, Home Advisor, Yelp, and the Home Depot installers. Some plumbers never called back, others gave me expensive quotes. Another wanted $132 dollars just to come over and assess what was happening. A friend recommended I call Jonny and I am glad I did. He was traveling but I was able to communicate with him via WhatsApp and show him the property. Jonny was very clear about his availability, showed up when he said he would, and best of all he gave me a very fair price. He was also willing to meet up at Home Depot so that I could make sure I chose the WiFi water heater I wanted. He was very patient while I had a last-minute moment of indecision while deciding on the size of the tank. The install looks great. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and call him back if I have any other issues. Dangerous drivers!
They've lost many potential jobs because of bad behavior on the road.

At first I was fairly happy with their scheduling and customer service.  I called and was able to schedule an estimate quickly and easily.  I wish I didn't have to schedule almost a week out, but I understand companies get busy - that is usually a good sign, right?!

Well, fast forward two weeks later, several phone calls, a handful of messages and I cannot get my quote to save my life!  All this company has done is wasted my time!  I took time out of my day to meet you for the estimate.  I have called to follow up on the estimate and inquire why my quote has not been delivered when promised over 5 times.  It is a rather extensive quote - so it is not like it is not worth the time and money.  Just bad business practice.

Save yourself the energy and time - find someone that wants to do that work.

Fantastic service!  They went above and beyond to fix an issue I had installing a smart thermostat.  Rick was especially available, responsive and respectful.

one star is too many for these guys. Very impolite very unprofessional. They came to our place and we asked them politely to put on shoe covers that we provided and they just left right away. Then I call the company and I describe the situation for the person on the phone, again very politely, and she hung up the phone on me. I am pretty sure their service as crappy as their behavior. Glad they left without making any further mess. Good luck some where else. You won't have my business EVER.
