Fixer - Seattle Plumbing Service
Fixer seems like it would be a great service if they were better about screening people out. We contacted Fixer for some help with an exterior door and they booked it without telling us that their contractors are not permitted to do structural work like reframing.

The Fixers who came out were very apologetic. It sounds like this happens all the time, and the Fixers regularly get sent on jobs they can't do.

Seatown Electric Plumbing Heating Air Plumbing Service
I called Seatown after finding out the breaker that controls our furnace needed to be replaced. After explaining that we were without heat, the woman I spoke with offered to call a technician to see if we could be seen sooner. She called me back within minutes and a few hours later Matt was at our door. I was so impressed with his willingness to come and help us after hours, when he should have been home with his own family. Thank you!

South West Plumbing Service
Please beware of pricing with this company!    We discovered a toilet leak, with water dripping into a storeroom below.  They told us there would be an $89 fee just to come out, which is not unusual, and that the plumber would be prepared to do the work if we wished.  The first 20 minutes after the two plumbers' arrival were spent trying to upsell us on a variety of things not related to our immediate problem.  The work ultimately consisted of cutting a small hole in the ceiling of the storeroom (easy access with everything previously cleared out of the way), and resetting the toilet, putting in a new wax ring.  The work took less than an hour.  The cost?  The itemized invoice lists $614.23 for leak search in small area and $570.89 for pull and reset toilet.  Plus tax and minus a 5% senior discount our total bill was $1,241.26.   When I questioned the plumber about the charges, his answers were first, Well you wouldn't think it was so much if you saw how much customers on my last call paid, and second, I offered some 'bundles' which you didn't want.  A day later I talked to a service manager who talked about how high their overhead was and how expensive Seattle is.  He said that the time to do a particular job varies significantly as they have both experienced and less experienced plumbers and because of that, they charge by the job rather than by the hour (plus materials.)  Our charges were right out of our pricebook, he said.  I also asked about the time spent on trying to sell us services we didn't ask for or want, and point blank asked if plumbers receive a commission and he said yes.   I did receive a $200 refund after my call - but still, way overpriced and not at all transparent about pricing.  Would never use again.

Hunt's Services Plumbing Service
I had Hunts come to my home in November when it really started getting cold because my old furnace went out. They responded quickly and came out that week (2 kids my wife and I am freezing space heaters weren't cutting it) the guy that came started off well he wore booties dressed in work clothes seemed professional then he diagnosed my furnace that's a bit over 20 years old. He said the part that went out isn't made anymore so unless I can find it used they need to replace the whole unit. (Can't confirm this because they took the old one but talking to other professionals not very likely old furnaces are often able to be repaired) then the only furnace they had available was almost $10,000 but very efficient (no A/C with this unit gas unit) has a fancy 2 stage fan and things we weren't really concerned with. Luckily they had a finance plan usually would of shopped around but we were all freezing so we got the unit.

Once the unit was installed the house was nice cozy and warm again.... On the bottom floor due to the fancy fan it wasn't pushing enough air upstairs like our old furnace did. So we paid almost 3x what we could of and got a furnace that didn't work as well. Obviously the technicians get a cut for the more expensive equipment they sell and make the customer fell like they need it. I did give them a chance to try and fix it and the guy came and made it so the fan is always on basically making it less efficient than my old one. Only positive thing I have to say is the lady on the phone seems really nice and they were able to respond quicker than others although I wish I would of waited for someone else.

Beacon Plumbing - Seattle Plumbing Service
Update! We called Beacon Plumbing the day after our service and they refuse to refund any of our money. Their stance is basically that is our pricing, too bad!. Don't call Beacon Plumbing unless you have a spare $1,000!!

Here is what happened to us: We called Beacon Plumbing at 10:00pm because our toilet had a complete clog and would not flush (we only have one bathroom). They told us over the phone $100 to respond but could not give us a full quote until they arrived. Shortly before midnight they arrived and gave us the shocking news it would cost $1,000 to just unbolt the toilet and run the snake down the line to clear the clog. We feel this company preys on consumers in desperate situations like ours. Pull the toilet, run a snake down the line and unclog some toilet paper and it cost us $1057.00!!! Took less than an hour and the technician was rude (his response to our anger was You signed up for this not me! Unless you have a spare $1,000 don't call Beacon!! We were left with the decision at midnight to say no and be stuck with no way to use the bathroom or to give in to their giant pricing!

If we had it to do all over again, we would have gone and rented a hotel room and called a reasonable plumber the following day!

A Advanced Septic & Construction Services Plumbing Service
Called them and told them exactly what we needed and where the issue was and they came out and told us they couldn't help. Still charged us $229. I don't care if they can't help or even have to charge a fee, but that fee is ridiculous!
