Best Leak Detection in Sacramento CA

First, the good.  Darrell is here right now and he is professional and courteous. He identified the leak problem in one of our bathrooms within 5 minutes.

Now, the bad.  I don't know how these plumbing companies get so many good reviews on Yelp, except that people are willing to pay $$$ more than they should.  Or, maybe they are 1st time home owners and don't know any better. I first contacted them through Yelp and they got back to me immediately to set up an appointment.

Day of appointment - No show.  I message them and they immediately start calling and messaging me.  I couldn't do the appointment at the times they wanted later that day and let them know it. We set up another appointment.

Second appointment - I get a call an hour before the end of the window when were supposed to show.  Their pipe camera was broken and they asked to reschedule.  I explained that this was a huge pain and ate up another day of waiting around.  No apology, no offer in price reduction, nothing.

Third day.(same window 9 am- 11 am)  I get a call at 10:24 letting me know that the camera is not ready and they won't be here til the afternoon.  Door bell rings at 2:25 and Darrell is here. He identifies the first problem.  Needs two new faucets, supply lines and angle stops.  $815 is the estimate WITHOUT parts, which I would need to buy myself at Lowes. Then, he takes a look at our second bathroom.  The quote I get to have a camera down the pipe is $325.  That is just the cost of running the camera. I didn't even ask for an estimate on the rest of the work that would be needed for that bathroom.

The big picture- If you have only one bathroom and/or an emergency, any plumbing company is going to rake you for $$$.  We have 3 bathrooms, so we are not in that situation.  This company is no different than any of the other big plumbers in the area (meaning that they charge too much) except that they respond to your Yelp message immediately.  Now, I understand that everybody needs to make a living and I don't fault them for that.  However, that doesn't mean that I have to overpay either.  And to be fair, Darrell did contact the boss after I complained and he agreed to lower the price to $593 from $815.  No thanks.

My next step is to call my buddy who knows a guy.  He does quality work at a fair price, but on his own time-line.

If I could hire Darrell as a side job then I would, but I am not going to pay that much for the installation of two new faucets.  My advice to Darrell is to leave VanGo and start doing jobs for a fair price.  I know I would hire him!

I had a slab leak that we couldn't locate. I called Jc Sewer and Drain Plumbing and they had someone come out to my house the next day. Sulley and Jeff located the leak within an hour and  came back a week later and rerouted the pipe. They were both professional, knowledgeable and respectful of our home. They even changed out a leaking valve that wasn't related to the initial slab leak. They cleaned their work area and overall did and outstanding job.

I had sewage in my front yard, the line from the house to the county line had become blocked. I had someone from a DIFFERENT company come out and all they did was try and rip my wife off. Luckily she told him to kick rocks and we got a hold of US Trenchless. Jonas came out and I couldn't have been happier with the courteous and professional service. Jonas explained everything clearly and gave me options of what was possible. The actual service was done earlier than expected, which was awesome because of the sewage coming up in the lawn. Great guys, great company, and great service.

We had a bit of a nightmare plumbing situation that was not easy to solve. This company gave us the most amazing service and put in so much time and effort to see the job through. Their prices are very reasonable and we will definitely use them again.

If you have a pool leak, do not call this company.  They  do not do the full job.  If your heater needs to be moved, they don't do that.  So what do they do?  Well, they claim to locate leaks, but I can't validate that claim.

That's what the say they do and they say they're the best.  Not so fast there Wet Willy.  After digging where they said the leak was, I did not find any signs of a leak.  No water, no wet dirt. Nothing that would indicate a leak.  So, I called them to come out and give it another try.  

The second crew said the leak was right where the first guy said it was.  Even after I told them there was no water where they said the leak was the told me water does strange things and isn't necessarily where the leak is.  WHAT???  Did I hear that right.  Sure did.  So, they gave me a crazy high bid to fix the leak and said I needed to get another contractor to do part of the job they don't do.  What the heck?

So I hired a guy to cut the concrete and dig where the leak was identified TWICE, and, you guessed it, no leak.  BOTH  technicians  from American Leak Defective FAILED to locate the leak.  BOTH OF THEM!  Major fail, TWICE.  

And they offer no guarantee unless you use them to do the repair at their extremely over priced rate.  Seriously, $1650 to repair a pipe they said was right there under a little concrete and less than 2 feet down.  Don't waste your money.  These guys failed twice and took my  $395 and spent less than 90 minutes total.  What a joke.  And I'm out the $395 and still looking for the leak. I'm also looking for a pool company to do the job right. I'll let you know who to call once this is over.  

Don't waste your money on American Leak Defective.

Daniel from Figs Plumbing came out today and tried to clear my mainline. After 3 attempts with the snakes and another attempt with the Hydro jetter the line would not clear. He determined that the pipe is defective, possibly collapsed or broken and will need to be dug out to get to the source of repair. I told Daniel I would have a family member help me dig it up and replace the pipe. I asked him how much of what he quoted me I owed him for his many hours of work and he said no charge and to put what I would have paid him towards getting it repaired. Honest man. I will call him for future plumbing needs. Thanks Daniel.

We didn't have a challenging issue (a drip from our tub faucet) but I hated wasting water. They were all booked for the day but the owner said Oly would try to find a window of time to come and do the estimate. He not only did the estimate, he left to get the part, and came back and fixed it. And the price was less than other quotes I got just for showing up.

Shopped around for prices and he beat all of them. I had to call him back to have him come out and check my pool. He had an opening the following week from my call and he came out. He was professional and explained to me what he was doing. Im glad he was able to come out in a short time because I was worried when my pool was loosing so much water. Thanks to him he eased my mind. I would definitely recommend him. He is trustworthy, friendly, on time and honest. I hope I never have my pool leaking in the future but if thats the case I am definitely calling him again.

Serg did a great job.  He has all the small tools that I did not have to finish hanging the industrial strength exterior TV mount in a stucco wall for our large outdoor TV.  I would recommend his very reasonably priced services for those miscellanies jobs around the house.

We cannot thank Eric enough for coming out and providing us with the best experience we have ever had with a plumbing company! Eric is very knowledgeable and you can tell he cares about his customers as well as the work he provides. He gave us valuable information and recommendations as well as options for filtration systems we didn't even knew existed. We cannot say how nice it was to have Eric come to our home and provide us with excellent service. He is a true asset to this company and we look forward to using Boyd  for any future needs we may need!

Wasn't expecting to get a plumber to clear my kitchen line on a Saturday at noon, but Ken saved the day! I know he probably can't always come through in 90 minutes for everyone, but in my case, A Better Plumbing Company was heroic.

Our garbage disposal decided to break on the 4th of July.  The next day, we contacted Plumbing Care and within a couple of hours the technician, Andre, arrived at our house.  He replaced the disposal in under 45 minutes.  He provided pictures of the old disposal and of the the one he replaced it with.  He cleaned up after the job, even dumping the box & packaging that the new disposal came in.  I'm very happy with the work and would recommend using Plumbing Care.

Owner (I assume) answered my call at something like 7pm on a Friday night and I caught him at the gym. I was pleasantly surprised he answered. As I tried to describe my problem he rather crassly interrupted me and said he doesn't fix dishwashers as I was explaining my dishwasher is brand new and wasn't even the problem, but the water supply TO it. He said he'd call me back after he left but never followed up either that night nor the next day. Overall felt it was a borderline rude and dismissive interaction.

Good service providers who do everything to code. Were responsive with quotes and scheduling service and showed up on time to do the job. Would recommend!

I was visiting my family when we had a major water issue and we called Drain Time and they came in record time and took great care of us and price was great!! Tommy and crew first class and we highly recommend them 5 stars

Was happy at first but then quickly went down hill. After the install i noticed the air didnt seem to be ventilating very well but waited for the 1st inspection. Come to find out they didnt even connect air pipe that brings the air from inside the home to the unit in that attic and required them to come back out. Then it was just inspected by the county and failed that inspection too because the condenser unit's requirements for fuse/ wiring was not enough for what my house is wired with. So now they either have to replaced the unit with a smaller one to meet the requirements or doing a new home run to bring it to code. if they can find a way to resolve this matter sooner than later and make me happier ill gladly modifiy my rating.

Update: company worked with me for resolving the issue quickly and properly and restoring my trust and happiness with them

This review is for Paul at Honey Do HandyMan Services. I never hired him for work -- thank goodness. He was so incredibly rude and unprofessional in his communications with me, I ended up not hiring him.

I contacted him in November 2015 to get a list of tasks done around our home. We were in no rush, so we hired him for December 18, 2015. I texted Paul on December 17, 2015 confirmed that he was coming the following day -- Paul texted yes. I took the day off from work, specifically to get these projects done for Paul on December 18, 2015.

On December 18, 2015 -- he sends me a text from Lake Tahoe at the LAST MINUTE that he is in the E.R. and has to reschedule. Hmmm....sounds fishy.....but I reply that I hope he is feeling better. Extended skiing/snowboarding trip? Who's knows....but regardless, he says he has an opening on the following Tuesday or Wednesday. What about the E.R.??? Sounds like Paul is going to be A.O.K.???

I give Paul the benefit of the doubt, and reschedule for the following Tuesday. Even though I took a day off from work, due to his last minute cancellation. After talking about it, my husband and I decided to not hire Paul because his whole story about Tahoe and the E.R. sounded so random and unreliable, that we didn't want to hire someone we couldn't trust into our home.

I texted Paul over 24 hours in advance cancel our Tuesday appointment. Figured that would give him more time to heal from the E.R. or recoup from his Tahoe trip. Whatever. He texted me back SCREAMING that I was inconsiderate for cancelling at the last minute and to never text him again. Ha! Are you kidding me????

We are so relieved we went with our gut instinct and not hire this rude and unprofessional person. I'm sure he would've messed up our projects around our home as well. We definitely dodged a bullet with Paul.

Had an 2 extra electrical outlets installed and the person who came out was very professional and patient.  Communication was also superb!  He texted me to let me know he was running late and what time he would be there.  Excellent work and fantastic
