Thank you Donna for staying late and helping me troubleshoot my AC failure Friday evening (June 16) just as the heat gauge is beginning to soar in the Sacramento valley. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!  It ended up being the capacitor as you suspected and after replacing it this morning my family and I now have sweet cold air flowing back into our home. You are a wonderful person and because of you it's very apparent that Comfort Master values customer service over making a buck. Rest assured when I get a hard failure on my HVAC you all will be who I call to fix it!

Comfort Master is terrific: responsive, competent, ethical, and reasonably-priced. Had a problem with a roof-top unit a few years and got a quote from one company saying we needed to trash the old furnace and get a new one at exorbitant cost . Comfort Master diagnosed the problem, replaced a part and the furnace is still working. More recently had intermittent heat problems. The thoroughly knowledgeable and pleasant woman on the phone walked me through all the things that could be causing the issue. Turns out it was dirty air filters (my bad for not cleaning them regularly!). But now I'm educated, AND warm, and when the old unit finally dies, I'll go to Comfort Master to replace. Highly recommend!

Was happy at first but then quickly went down hill. After the install i noticed the air didnt seem to be ventilating very well but waited for the 1st inspection. Come to find out they didnt even connect air pipe that brings the air from inside the home to the unit in that attic and required them to come back out. Then it was just inspected by the county and failed that inspection too because the condenser unit's requirements for fuse/ wiring was not enough for what my house is wired with. So now they either have to replaced the unit with a smaller one to meet the requirements or doing a new home run to bring it to code. if they can find a way to resolve this matter sooner than later and make me happier ill gladly modifiy my rating.

Update: company worked with me for resolving the issue quickly and properly and restoring my trust and happiness with them

This is my go-to company for a/c, furnace and plumbing.  Did not expect a cooling angel by the name of Anthony to be able to resolve the issue as quickly, when my daughter found a leak in her a/c unit.  A part was needed,  but the wrong one was shipped!  Anthony was able to hunt the correct part down and install it the day he promised it would be fixed!!! Like I said a true cooling angel (especially with a heat wave) and an exemplary employee of Huft.

My AC had a messy problem that it would stop working after a certain amount of time. Luis came in and tried everything but he couldn't break the sneaky thing, but he had a good guess on the failing unit. On his second visit he brought a motor and fixed the problem promptly.

This is a good company that cares its customers, and technicians that can actually fix your problem. I would choose them again.

My Carrier Infinity thermostat was acting unusual and I called the HVAC company which installed it 10 years ago to just ask a few simple questions. They would only schedule a technician to come out for $89 and would not allow me to talk to anyone. I called Comfort Master who replaced a condenser for me on this system a few years ago and Donna answered my question in about 2 minutes on the phone without charge!

They were great to deal with when my Carrier compressor went out and again today. Not sure that 5 stars is enough!

Interviewed 3 other companies before choosing Huft to install a Bosch 3 Ton 18.5 SEER .  We ended up having some structural issues & unit sound issues so we got to know the Huft people REALLY well over the time it took to resolve them. Huft proved to be dedicated, tenacious trouble shooters. The people we talked to & who came to do the work was extremely invested & considerate. I have to say that they really do excel at communication & we had concerns, they addressed them. Can't say that we were impressed with the BOSCH representative (not a part of Huft) & didn't feel like BOSCH gave Huft all the information that they could have right from the get go-which caused a long delay in the final resolution. It was a long hot summer to have to deal with AC issues, but Huft stood by thier promises & did not give us grief over how much time & effort it took. It was obvious to us that Huft strives to be a company of integrity.

I have only bought filters for my 91 yr mother in law's heat pump, but now I am recommending she have them trouble shoot her unit.  A shyster outfit cold called her then came out and condemned her unit and tried to get her to sign on for expensive new unit and finance too!  The folks I have met at Comfort Master are helpful, eager to please & just plain fine and decent!  Plus they were the least expensive for the filters!  This time the price had actually dropped almost 10 dollars from last year... now how many businesses actually pass the savings on to you???  If I wasn't satisfied with my evaporative cooler & wood stove I'd be calling them in a hot minute!!

Amazing service from a small business you can trust.

I cannot say enough good things about Comfort Master's.  I have a condo in the Fair Oaks area that had the HVAC unit go out.  It was 107 that weekend and my tenant was miserable.  My mgmt service got me two quotes for around 7,800$$.  I was suspicious because the quote itself looking vague.  I called comfort masters and spoke with Donna.  She was very sweet and honest and had someone out there the next day.  She clearly told me what the problem was and gave me options.  She recommended the cheaper option to replace the outside compressor with a dry compressor and the total cost $4,200.  They replaced the unit within 24 hours and the tenant was happy.  There was no gotcha's, dishonesty (this is common in the HVAC industry) or BS.  They got in, gave me a good price, and let me know what's going on.  Save their contacts in your phone if you have a hvac emergency (it's sac after all, summer's are unbearable without HVAC).

A/C  stopped cooling in a rental of ours.  I called other company's but they could not come out for days.  Saw Comfort Masters excellent reviews on here.  Gave them a call ( glad I did) and they came out with in a few hours.  The technician was very nice,  found the problem right away and got the A/C cooling quickly.  Very happy with the service and price.   I know who to call now when I need  help.   Highly recommend !

I was very impressed with everyone I spoke with at Comfort Master!   Our technician, Larry, was very capable and I was surprised at how quickly he got the job done.   In addition, I really felt like I was part of the Comfort Master family because they were warm, friendly, and sincerely helpful.  I even put them in my contacts on my phone as I will always call them for my HVAC needs.   I greatly appreciate the good work and honesty I encountered from Comfort Master!!!

I cannot say enough fabulous words about the service and staff at Comfort Master, and specifically, Larry, the service technician that came to our house.  Here's the story...we came home last week to our condensation line leaking into our hallway and all over our hardwood floors.  We called a large well known company in town and that's where everything went down hill.  He told us that we needed a whole new HVAC system and then proceeded to break the condensation line so that it would continue to leak.  Also told us that our refrigerant was low (even though he didn't check it nor did he fill it).  Our system is 13 yrs old and what he was saying didn't sound right, not to mention he had the customer service skills of a gnat (no disrespect to gnats). :-)  This visit cost us $278 with an appt set up for the sales guy to come out to sell us a new unit.  Well... a friend said we should call Comfort Master and then we reviewed them on Yelp (saw the great reviews) and gave them a call.  Immediately, they had excellent customer service on the phone and promptly sent someone to the house (Larry).  He should us how the other tech broke the condensation line, which Larry then repaired.  Confirmed that we do NOT need a new HVAC and filled a pound of refrigerant (I think that's what it is called).  All of this for $225 - less than what we paid to the company with shabby service and what could have been a very unneeded costly expense.  We will only use Comfort Master from this day forward and will refer all of our friends and family for their HVAC needs.  Thank you!

I used this company for 8 years. I was very happy with price and service. They recently charged me $425.00 for a $100.00 dollar part.  I called to complain and they refunded $108.00 dollars.  Not sure what has changed, but I no longer trust them or plan to use them.  Now I have to call the 25 friends I recommended them to.

These guys great, in customer service, service performed and really, just being good to work with.

I've used them twice, and both times were on super hot days in the middle of a heat wave.  

The first time my AC died, they helped me diagnose it over the phone and then got me the part I needed to get up and running by myself. They also explained how to reset my system, which was needed once I installed the new part.

The next time was another super hot day, and they managed to get a tech out, and fix my issue within 3-4 hours same day.

I hope to not have to, but if my system goes down again I'll be giving them a call.

During the last few days of the deep freeze this month my heater died. It was awful. I have a home warranty but their heating contractor couldn't even come to my house for 4 days to see what was wrong , that means as in the past,  I would have been left wtihout heat for a week- COMFORT MASTER CAME TO MY RESCUE!

I decided to pay out of pocket and they were there in about 4 hours ( versus 4 days) and I had heat back that day. It was worth it!  They will now be my go-to company for heating and air. I am also terminating the warranty as it was a useless waste of money. If I had to wait 4 days for a broken dishwasher that is one thing, but heat in freezing temps is not acceptable.

Huft Home Services replaced my old HVAC system with a heat pump, and the experience was excellent from start to finish.  After I requesting an estimate online, Glenn came to my house, assessed my house and current system, and put together several HVAC options for me to choose from.  Each of these options were tailored to suit my individual needs as opposed to simply making the company the most money.  After discussing the pros and cons of each system and settled on a heat pump.  Because this option specifically addressed my needs, I felt confident knowing that I was selecting the best option for my situation.

Less than 48 hours later, Chris and three other Huft employees arrived on time and completed the job in a single day.  Everyone from Huft was extremely polite and respectful of my home and pets.  It was refreshing to see the manner in which the crew from Huft interacted with one another.  The employees were respectful to one another and clearly enjoyed working together.  I got the sense that Huft values its employees, and that its employees enjoy working for Huft.

My new heat pump system is working exactly as described.  It is incredibly quiet and efficient.

Based on this excellent experience, I will be a Huft Home Services customer for many years to come.

I initially called the reps for a quote to install an EV charger. While I had the rep there, I asked for an estimate to install ceiling fans. I received an estimate to install ceiling fans in a brand new, pre-wired home. The estimate was $580 to install PER FAN. I could not believe my eyes and ears. I could buy 5 fans for this amount. The average estimate I've received for installation has been approximately $75-$100. The absolute audacity to quote me $580 to install ONE pre-wired ceiling fan was the best joke of the century. The rep tried saving face and say the estimate was so high because they offer warranty etc. lol, the fan I'm trying to install is worth $150, my guy.

I would give 1 star for the rip off but the estimate guy who came over was so respectful and had great customer service.

Wow!  Fast affordable service when you really need it.  Donna was able to diagnose most of my problem over the phone.  She had a service tech onsite in a couple hours.  Larry came out and, Surprise! Surprise!  he had all the parts on his truck to fix my 38 year old AC.  Another plus, Larry has 30 years experience, he did not spend a lot of time diagnosing the problem.

Our AC failed late on a Saturday afternoon.  Comfort Master was our first call and we were fortunate to find Ed and Donna in the office doing paperwork and they answered our call even though they were closed.  I had already done some diagnostics and Ed walked me through some more.  I sent them pictures of model numbers and such via email and they got right back to us with the news that a new capacitor should do the trick.  They had one in stock and I could come pick it up.  They would hang out and wait for me at 6:00 p.m on a Saturday evening. We picked it up and installed it ourselves.  The blower still seems to limping so we will undoubtedly have them out to check it, but for now we are cool and comfortable.
FYI.... this is not the first time that Ed and Donna have shared their knowledge over the phone and saved us money and it is why they are always my first call for HVAC needs.  Thanks again Ed and Donna!

We started the process to get an updated heating system and a brand new AC install in April when we signed the official contract, and they were supposed to install late-May. We were so excited that in a few short weeks we would be able to have air conditioning during the summer for the first time ever. I don't blame them for the pandemic causing a shortage in supplies, but we were called Friday at 6pm to be informed that they wouldn't be able to install that coming Monday at 7am because they didn't have the right stuff to finish putting in the unit, with zero idea on an updated timeframe which felt so last minute and unprofessional.

Long story short, they ended up being able to finally install at the end of September, and after a few complications, finally finishing everything early October.

Even though there were snags during the install process, the lead guy doing the work did his very best to make up for it; they upgraded our system and extended our warrantee for free and tried really hard to ensure we were left satisfied by the end. The installers themselves were AMAZING, busted their butts and kept me informed of everything during the process. They were all friendly and competent and I enjoyed every one of them.

However, communication with the main office is a nightmare. They're incredibly friendly and say they'll be very helpful getting done what you need when you call, but you have to call back every step of the way because otherwise no one updates you about anything, even when they say they will. I had to ask the same questions to 5 different people before someone finally gave me an answer (and honestly, in the end it was one of the installers, while he was physically at my house fixing things, so high praise to those hard working guys). There's zero follow through. They say they'll update me, then never do. Like, literally at any point in this process.

They did have to cut up my fence to get the bigger unit on the property, and didn't patch it back up afterwards, leaving me with an open fence leading to the road and a 6 week old puppy who could escape. Also randomly left a big like 4'X4' block of wood in the middle of the yard, which can't exactly be put in the trashcan on trash day. In all fairness, it was two sets of teams that had to do the work because of the complications that came up, so those may have just been a simple communication issue between the first team and the second.

Finally, after everything was said and done we got the permit inspection on the books and finished this last Tuesday. So overall the process took MONTHS to complete fully, and communication was lacking throughout. The stars are for the amazing work of the entire install team. The lack of stars are for everyone else in this process. I'm glad it's done and over with, and the new system itself is awesome, but man was it a trial getting everything finished.

Also, their truck got tagged with a fake mustache which is hilarious.

I have been using Comfort Master for many years now and they kept my old AC/Heating system running several years longer than I expected they could. When I was finally ready to replace it, they did an amazing job on getting the new system to work in my 100 year old house. I assumed they would have to replace the duct work but they were able to save me money by using a special process to seal the old ducts. On the install, they encountered existing electrical wiring irregularities in my home. They had their electrician come in to make sure it was safe at no extra charge. If you want an honest assessment from a company that won't try to up-sell you, call Comfort Master.

They had me over a barrel but made a point of not taking advantage of the situation.

We call comfort master for a repair when they show up they were very great to work withwe show then the area said the cost would be $400 which was half the price of other company plus the other company said he would take a month for parts. They came back and fix it the next day and it works great. Thank you Comfort Master.

Technician came out to give an estimate on replacing our 24k btu split, and gave us a quote of over $9k... the unit is oversized, and asked a price difference of downsizing the unit, since it's only a 500sqft space... which would require half the btu.. which is considerably less expensive for the unit, and told us it would only be $300 less... either the technician is a moron, or he thinks the customer is.. regardless, won't be dealing with ridiculous pricing from Huft...

On Wednesday June 9th 2021 Huft came out to replace the unit they broke while installing it back in December 2020. Today June 13 2020 it started leaking water in our living room AGAIN. we called Huft emergency line only to be told we can't be helped because we are not club members.

Of course the A/C failed on the hottest day. So I called around and the people from Comfort Master were absolutely the best and most pleasant to deal with.

I absolutely love comfort master! They always show up on time and really try to help out their customers out before having to charge at all. They also work really hard to find the cheapest and best solution for every time. They also thoroughly explain issues in a way that is easy for anyone yo understand.
We have used them twice in the last year, once to replace our A.C. (keep your dogs away from ground A.C. units), and another time to replace the motor on our furnace. Both times they did everything they could for us before having to replace anything and when it came to having to replace them they searched for the best prices. We  are very satisfied with all of their work and will not hesitate to call them again if needed, I hope we don't.

Long story short: we had been without heat for two months while our home warranty company exhausted their list of HVAC companies, none of which were certified to work on our system. I finally was able to choose my own companies. Clarke & Rush said our compressor needed to be replaced, but due to the cost, recommended we purchase a whole new system. They even had a sales appt. set up for me the very next day! It didn't sit right with me, so I called the next name on the list of Carrier certified companies and spoke with Donna at Comfort Master. She had our technician, Larry Russel out the very next day (who checked out way more areas of our system than any of the previous SIX technicians ever even looked at or seemed to even know existed). He replaced two other much cheaper parts, added a sealer and refrigerant, and we had heat that day!!! After two months of no heat, we just couldn't believe it!!! And for one-tenth of the price we were told by two previous companies it was going to cost! Even though we paid Comfort Master directly, Donna spent two-plus hours the following day to call/email our home warranty company and got the service approved for full reimbursement!!! This company clearly deserves every single five-star rating they earn. So much appreciation and gratitude for their expertise and superb service.

We just got our Tesla EV wall charger installed by Huft with the permit recently.  The price was reasonable.  They took care of us from A-Z.  Customer service was extremely friendly and helpful.  The installation was professionally done nice and neat and passed the city inspection.  Many thanks to Michael and his helpers Henry, and Omar!  If you are looking for a company to install the EV charger, I would highly recommend tocall them.

When our A/C stopped working this weekend (in the middle of the 100+ degree heatwave), I immediately called Comfort Master and left a message with their after-hours answering service. Donna at Comfort Master called me back promptly the next morning and she got us scheduled for early the following morning. Larry, their technician, was able to diagnose the problem right away and perform all the repairs the same day. Larry is very knowledgeable and so efficient. Luckily, we just needed a new capacitor and a fan motor.  

We love this company!  We discovered Comfort Master 7 years ago. They were referred to us by our friends who had been using them for many years. Everyone we have interacted with at Comfort Master has always been very professional and straight forward...and they have never tried to pressure us into buying a new HVAC system.

We do the annual service package which includes the heater tune-up in the late Fall and the A/C tune-up in the late Spring. This preventative maintenance keeps the most expensive appliance in our house (aka the HVAC system) working great.

This company saved me an arm and leg!! I wouldn't have found this place without being referred. I recommend this company for your HVAC needs to everyone! The first company I contacted came out to diagnose, which was really quick and recommended I replace the unit outside and gave an estimate of $4500. I thought I needed to get another set of eyes to take another look. Thankfully a friend got back to me and recommended Master Comfort. They came out, they diagnosed, which by the way was more thorough. It turned out to be a corroded/damaged electrical connector. The part itself was $39.00. My family is very satisfied with the service provided by Comfort Master. Thank you to Donna , Larry, and Sahill.

I couldn't  be more pleased with the service that I received from Comfort Master of Sacramento.  Ed, Donna and the crew made the process actually enjoyable.  They have been accomplishing my yearly HVAC servicing for many years so it was a no-brainer when it came time to purchase a new system.  Their pricing was fair and it was installed in a professional manner.  The technicians kept me informed and explained clearly all processes of the HVAC installation and workings.  I highly recommend them.

I had called CM late yesterday when my AC started sputtering.
Donna warned me that they were very busy but she would try and squeeze me in the next day especially if the jobs that were already set up, went quicker than expected. Unfortunately they didn't, but Donna noted that I lived close to the office and she analyzed the problem and thought it might just be a quick and simple solution.  And though it was late Friday afternoon, Luis was soon at my door, and after a quick test, he replaced the capacitor and my home is cool again.
CM is great. Donna and Luis were professional, friendly and upfront.
Price was fair and charges explained. It's no wonder they are the go-to service in the neighborhood.

I first found out about huft when I was getting an estimate for my hvac. Glenn was very informative and nice among all the companies who came here to give me an estimate they are the most reasonable price i can find they also do price match which is good since then I had my heat pump replaced and soon my electrical and hvac is next in line. They are bery dependable,honest and give you the best deal possible. I highly recommend huft home services. shoutout to Octavio also who made his way to come here even after hours to do inspection and also put on my priority for  my heater replacement asap since he knew that we have no hot water!!

These guys are awesome!

We needed furnace help - talked to another company, and they quoted us $4500.  They sounded legit so we were quite bummed.

But we decided to get a 2nd opinion the next day.  I asked my friend if they used anyone for HVAC help on their house and they recommended Comfort Master.

I called CM and they had a technician out at our place in a few hours.  Really nice guy and an expert.  He diagnosed the problem right away.  Said it was going to be an expensive fix of about $1000... which is a cool $3500 less than we were (wrongly?) quoted by the other company the day before.

They came right back and did the fix.  Heat is running great.  We'll call these guys everytime going forward for AC and Heat help.  Would recommend you do the same!

I am the past Director of Technical Services for the Redwood Empire chapter of the Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors National Association, SMACNA.

I have know Ed & Donna Atkins and their business for about 10 years.  They are the most technologically aware HVAC company in the region.

When I needed a new heat pump Comfort Master installed what was best for me.  We had a couple of other companies provide quotes but they did not pass the smell test.

When I needed new ducts in my attic Comfort Master gave us superior advice and service.

Ed Atkins is the past president of the Electric & Gas Industry Association, EGIA.

our A/C failed to turn on again this year again.  This time we used Comfort Master and what a difference to our past HVAC repair experiences.  Larry was our tech.  He figured out the problem immediately and had it fixed with minimal expense.  Best of all, we were not pressured into any sales pitch about buying a whole new system.  yay!  what a relief.

Our HVAC was overheating one zone and our usual HVAC guy had retired, so we got Huft to do a check.  Their guy was here 2.5 hours and couldn't find the problem.  He kept calling someone which suggests he was very inexperienced.  He claimed he could not climb into one section of our attic without destroying the ducting, so said it would be a big expensive job to figure out. Finally gave up and left and never came back to us with a bid for the job.  Total waste of our time and inspection fee!

Got another company in and they got a guy into the attic and uncovered the problem...a faulty damper motor.  Replaced it and problem solved.

Great service. They were understaffed on the day of my appt, so they had to reschedule me for the following day. That was not really a problem for me.  Our electrical problems were resolved in 2 separate visits, but everything's up and working great!  I would definitely use them again if needed.

I couldn't be happier that I called Comfort Master when my A/C finally gave out.  They were great on the phone educating me on potential causes for my issues and answering my questions.  Their tech arrived as scheduled the next day and identified the problem.  I really appreciated that he explained things to me before moving forward with the repair.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

4th of July weekend, my air conditioner stopped working. The air was blowing, but it was warm. So, the inside unit (in the basement) was working, but the outside unit wasn't turning. I called around, and Comfort Master was the only one to call me back. The woman I spoke with asked a few questions, and said it was probably a bad capacitor. She said it would cost a fortune to have them come out on a holiday weekend, and proceeded to look up some info on my unit then tell me she has the proper capacitor in stock and gave me instructions on how to do it myself.

I gave it a try, but was having trouble getting the old bracket off the bad capacitor, and since I was going to be gone the rest of the weekend anyway, I called back and scheduled them to come out on Monday.

The technician explained what he was doing as he went, gave me a few maintenance tips, and was on his way in no time. Fast, professional, and appropriately charged.

We were very very pleased with Huft heating and air conditioning. They replaced our furnace and a/c and did an excellent job. The crew let by Dakoda were professional and very responsive to all of our questions. Would we hire them again, you bet.

I paid $138 for what I thought would be tune up but ended up just being an inspection.  The tech informed me of some small lubricant issues.  When I asked the Tech that wouldn't a tune up take care of some of these issues, he said he only was only doing an inspection and said what do you expect for $130.  He then said it would cost $15K to get my 4 systems to get back to working shape and that I should just spend over $40K with him to fix it.  Total scam and false advertising.  It should be called an inspection to try to find ways to over charge you exorbitant amounts.  I would not recommend them.

On recommendations I read on the Nextdoor App, I called them when our AC went out a few days ago. With upper 90s on the way this week, we needed a fix, fast. Turns out we have a rare make and model unit. They found the best deal on a replacement blower motor and installed the same day. Super conscientious, friendly honest folks. Saved me money. I will call them again, if I ever need them.

Comfort Master is one of the most professional and honest HVAC contractors I've had the pleasure of doing business with.  When I first contacted CM, I was inquiring about obtaining a bid for a new split system.  Ed, the owner, actually provided some ideas on how to make the existing unit perform better and was trying to talk me out of buying a new system.  A few days later, I called back to make an appointment to get bids for a new system, as my existing system was beginning to make some strange noises.  Ed arrived on time and answered all my questions thoroughly and in terminology I could understand with no pressure to make a commitment.   Within a day I had a detailed bid that provided three options based on our discussion of my needs.  The most expensive option was nearly $10K less than another contractor (JR Putman).  One of the options included replacing the existing package unit with another Carrier system and sealing the existing ducts with a product called Aeroseal.  This product is amazing and now I can feel a significant improvement in air flow through-out my entire house.  It took a few days to make my decision to go forward but when I did, CM wasted no time working me into the schedule.  Within a week the work commenced and, as promised, the work was completed within 4 days.  Trent, the project lead and his crew, did a great job of installing a new air return as well as the new HVAC system.  Donna was a real pleasure to work with and was very patient with my many questions and phone calls.  I will absolutely recommend CM to my friends and family and would use them again for all my HVAC needs.

We had our heater issue solved by them in the quickest fashion. Esp., we asked another company earlier who offered an elaborated solution with several thousand dollars, while Comfort Master's solution was only to replace the air filter, which costs $50 or so annually. Nice and easy.

I've been using them for a few years now on my rentals and my own home. They are always fast, courteous and professional and never try to sell you anything that doesn't need doing. Larry is the best and I trust him when he tells me what needs fixing.

We just had our heating and air conditioning replaced by Huft. The salesperson, Glen, was professional and low key. We decided to go with Huft after getting other bids. We went with Huft because of quality of units for the price. They were able to do installation the same week, it is winter. The installation was in one day with a great crew, including Dacoda who finished up the details when work was completed. We are pleased with both units and would recommend and use them again.

Top notch customer service!  My A/C went out late on a Saturday night in the middle of a crazy Sacramento heat wave.  I received a call the next day, a Sunday, from a very helpful gentlemen who walked me through a potential easy fix to my problem.  Unfortunately, my problem ended up being a little more complex, but I am so appreciative of the helpful advice and patience in explaining what to do.  Comfort Master has earned my future business for their honesty and willingness to help.  It's always nice to run across good people!

Great experience- both in the main office and with the service technician, Larry Russell. Furnace went down on NYE and they still came out to address the problem that day. Not only that, but checked their inventory in the office looking for the right part and stayed until it was fixed. With some companies it seems like you have to plead with them to even meet you half way. Comfort Master won themselves a customer for life with their great service, attitude, and assistance. Fabulous! My a/ c went out right before this long long record breaking heatwave. I am new to Sacramento buying a house recently. I had a home warranty but the company never considered me worthwhile. A friend recommended comfort master. They helped me with interim solution to try and self serve but ultimately it needed a technician. While I hated the wait .... Donna kept me in her sites and let me know where I was . It was great, Larry the tech was professional and helpful and was great at cooperating with the warranty folks even though they wereLESS than customer or tech friendly.

My landlord had Mani out to repair our leaky shower and he was SO nice, respectful of my time and got the job done ASAP even though he had to return to get a different part since our shower is pretty weird and older. Very happy with his work and professionalism!!

I just had to write a review for Comfort Master Heating and Air.  We used them for the second time today, and they never fail to offer honest, stellar service.  The first time we used them, we had recently gotten a prognosis from another company that our heating and air conditioning system would need to be replaced (to the tune of several thousand dollars).  We called Comfort Master for a second opinion, and they were able to fix the problem for a little over $300.  Today, we had them out to check an intake vent, as we thought there was a dead critter in the vent and we anticipated a large bill.  Well, the technician that came out and checked the vent, said that he thought the critter had died under the house, outside of the vent, and that we did not need to replace anything.  In and out quickly.  After the technician's visit, I spoke to Donna in the office who suggested we call a pest removal company.  We did just that - and our termite guy from Clark Pest Control (Sacramento office - Dave - another excellent review for him!!), came out and found a dead rat between the insulation and the vent.  I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Comfort Master!!!

I reached out to Comfort Master because they are certified for Carrier brand units. That was a a mistake, because this company over charges for simple service options. They found that my unit had leaked refrigerant and fixed the leak, all within less than 2 hours. They charged me $1200 total. There was no empathy from Larry, who is supposedly experienced. He had a take it or leave it attitude. With two kids at home, I took his offer and paid the invoice. They charge $85 a pound for refrigerant, which is insane!  Also their labor is $98 an hour. In my opinion, a simple leak fix and refrigerant refill should not cost more than $600. You can find someone else that will give you a better deal, and a better service experience. Although, the people on the phone are nice. Probably the reason why I went with them in the first place. Big mistake

Update:  Thank you for agreeing that you are too expensive. And figures that you didn't address the poor customer service from Larry. I should have not let the guy use my bathroom twice either.

So Yesterdays temp was 104 degrees and that evening our AC decided to take a big fat dump on us! But of course right?! Why does it always happen that way? Anyhow, husband called Ed and Donna straight away. Donna sent out a very courteous and experienced technician this morning by the name of Larry. He got to work right away and found out that our capacitor needed to be replaced. Luckily, he had one on his truck! Yay :) Then the coils hadn't been clean...ever (been tellin the husband but he didnt listen!! LOL Listen to your wives men!) He cleaned those and we were up and running! Thank The Lord cause today's forecast to be 108!! The price was very fair considering its Saturday and the techs rate is time and a half. Thanks again Ed & Donna for the honest & superior service. We will never go anywhere else.

My heater went out this week and I was so stressed that it was going to cost a fortune. Kaycy went above and beyond for me! She first troubleshooted the problem and when that didn't work she had her technician come out. He fixed the problem within a few minutes and gave me an exceptional price! I will recommend Comfort Master from this point forward! Absolute incredible service!!

Requested a quote for a bit of plumbing work. Their employee came out, looked at the work, and said he'd get back to me with a bid. Never heard from him. I contacted the company and they apologized, said he would contact me. Still never heard from them.

I would steer clear of these guys, unless you want to pay Way more than you need to.  I had a simple furnace motor WARRANTY replacement and they wanted $600 just for labor.  I called and spoke to the manager and he said he estimated 1 hour to complete the job. So $600/hr??   He said it's because they have a new warehouse and customer support center to pay for.  That's nice you guys have a new facility and drive around in brand new trucks.  Guess who's paying for it?

The technician talked me into signing up for a monthly service plan to get a discount, so I did.  I had the work done and had a few other estimates done for a new electrical panel and plumbing for a remodel.  They were so high I called back to let them know that I wouldn't be using Huft and to cancel the service plan.  They said, sure, we'll send you a bill for the discounts we gave you.  WTF?  

I spoke to Elaine in the call center and she removed the additional charges, (thank you!) and told me to find another company to use.  Happy to!  These guys come across as very fake.  How can we be your hero today?  Was cute at first, not so much now.

If you expect value for your money, find another company.

Huft helped me with an AC issue in my home. David Colby came out and was fantastic. He was great with my dog, very friendly, and eager to help. My home inspection yielded a minor issue with the AC. David investigated the issue, explained exactly what the issue was, and then quickly fixed it. His primary question was, are you comfortable with the temperature in each room of the house? He made sure to do the work to make our answer a yes. He also gave me some tips about some other minor issues I had and was all around fantastic.

I'm a bit of a sucker and David could have taken advantage of me by offering unnecessary repairs, but he didn't. He earned Huft a customer for life and I'm glad I called.

This company saved my blind, 88 year old Mom over $8,800!!! They were called out to be a second opinion when another (ripoff) company said her entire air conditioning system was blown and would need to be replaced. Comfort Master's looked at the unit, replaced two capacitors, charged her $170 and it's been working great ever since! Honest, quick and hassle-free. They were terrific!!!

Best service experience I've had in midtown!  I called last night about my AC going out and the gentleman that was still in the office walked me through everything for 20 minutes (free of charge) trying to help me fix the problem myself.  However the problem was beyond what we discussed so I called back this morning and they were able to work me into the schedule for today... great communication and outstanding service!  Two professional technicians were sent to my house and the problem was diagnosed and fixed in 30 minutes!  I highly recommend this business.

I really hate writing poor reviews - especially on local companies.
But, if you have work done by Huft, don't expect any customer service.
We had the evaporation coil replaced in one of our heat pump units.  The technician that did the work was great - but everything else, not so good.
I made over a dozen calls during the process.  Each time I was told someone would get back to me shortly - never happened. It starts with a hooky way of answering the phone - don't know if it's intended to be entertaining but after a few calls with no follow-up - it's not.
I'm pretty sure the poor customer service starts at the top.  When the work had finally been completed, I contacted the company and told them I'd like to talk to the owner before posting any online reviews.  Was told they would get back to me shortly.  After 10 days of no response, which based on my previous experience shouldn't be surprising I guess, no call and no email.

I called comfort masters with a problem with my AC unit they were unable to send someone out right away due to their workload. However they diagnosed the problem with my AC unit over the phone have the parts waiting for me when I got to their shop and direct me on how to install it. I brought the parts home in 30 minutes my AC was back up and running thank you comfort masters

Evan Girard came today to do my regular AC maintenance. He was efficient, courteous and very thorough.  He gave me tips on how to keep my system running more efficiently and he throughly cleaned allll the leaves out of my outside unit. Thank you Evan!
Huft installed my AC system 9 years ago. I wouldn't go anywhere else but Huft!

Wow!  My family was in a desperate situation on a really hot day when our AC went out. It was getting hotter and hotter in our house as I was calling multiple businesses trying to find someone who could help. Huft was able to have someone come out within 2 hours. The technician (Mike) was tenacious trying to figure out what was wrong as our unit was only 4 years old. Mike discovered what was wrong and was able to fix it without delay. I can't thank him enough for doing such a great job especially on such a warm night.

I called comfort master because my AC went out and when I came home from work it was 90 degrees in my house. I am a single mom with a full-time job. The woman who answered the phone diagnosed the problem over the phone (capacitor) and walked me through how to change ur myself. She even called local stores to find the part for me. Absolutely fantastic service
