Best Appliance Installation in Minneapolis MN
I finally got around to getting the living room electrical issue addressed. The cats had a huge fight some time ago, and I'd lost power to 3/4 of the room. Because I figured that it was going to be a pretty spendy proposition, I hemmed and hawed about it.
When I finally broke down to address it, I used the Yelp Get-A-Quote feature to find reputable companies to get the job done.
Erickson was one of the responding companies. They were not the company who promised me the cheapest rates. Their contact was professional and friendly. After giving my phone number, I was called by a young lady who asked me to return the call if I was interested in having them work on my home (I was in my 10,000th Zoom meeting at the time of the call).
I called back and was asked a few more questions about the issue and I explained that I believed that one outlet was the source of the problem and that fixing it would end all the other problems. I was told that they bill for time and materials and that the cost would be around $200, depending upon the amount of time the electrician would be working. This was in line with the research I'd done on outlet replacement costs.
I took a deep breath and accepted the time slot of 7:30 - 9:30 Thursday. This was a quicker time than some of the other companies had available, and I didn't want to wait any longer.
Dean was right on time and got right to work inspecting what needed to be done. We chatted a bit as he was preparing to get into the outlet. I showed him down to the basement to ensure that the circuit was off. He'd mentioned several things about the wiring and such while down there. I've made mental notes of them. Before going down, he tried to use a device that would read the current but couldn't get it into the outlet (it was pretty melted).
After taking apart the outlet, which was very crispy, he explained that the problem was the wiring in the outlet itself and that my cats fighting didn't cause the overload. It was a fire waiting to happen. I wasn't happy to hear that, as I've now got concerns about all the other outlets in the house.
It didn't take him any time at all to switch out and correctly rewire the new outlet. This was probably the best $205 I've spent on the house thus far.
Dean was friendly, professional, and fast. I'm feeling quite happy that Yelp has helped me go three for three with service professionals coming to work on things in my home. I know that I'll be calling Erickson for anything that comes up in the future.

Calling around for a plumber is never fun and usually means something broke and needs to be replaced, which means $$$$$. Pete at PJS Plumbing will be my first call next time and all the time. I called late Friday needing a hot water replacement and got an estimate from Pete which was considerably less than other places. He called around and got me a water heater for the price he said it would be and it was installed almost by the time I woke up on Tuesday. Its funny that I don't even feel like I spent money, but I saved money compared to the 'other guys' prices. I actually rounded off the price and gave Pete more money. I've already recommended him to a friend. Don't change your phone number, I will be calling to use your services again. But hopefully I wont need to :)

After noticing the hot water in my kitchen wasn't scalding my hands like it normally does, I gave TJK plumbing a call before my water heater blew (I'm no dummy). They came out that day, confirmed what I already knew (the old girl was ancient and could potentially find a new home in the Smithsonian) and had a new one out to my place in an hour. Not only that, they rewired some of the janky wiring the previous owners of my house had decided to take upon themselves to do. Super impressed, not just by the aforementioned details, but because it was one single human who hauled the old heater up the basement stairs and brought the new one in, all while maneuvering narrow doorways like a champ. Props.

Mark is awesome! My toilet was leaking and after multiple attempts to fix it myself I called him. He answered promptly and was able to come over that same evening. He fixed it within about half an hour and explained what he did to make it stop leaking. He is super friendly and knowledgeable - highly recommended!

I was quoted a price to install 3 bathroom faucets and the lady left message on my voicemail and I agreed to proceed. I did call and ask her to send me a quick invoice but she did not do that until they were done with the job. After they were done they charged me 3 times the price of the quote. When I tried to dispute it and tell the lady I had her on my phone message give me a price she said that was the price I gave you for each faucet, which was never clarified. Even the guy who worked for them thought it was ridiculous. I would not recommend them at all. The lady was rude and never tried to apologize or work with me.

Would not recommend this company to even my worst Enemy. They are nothing more than rip off artist. Had a technician (used VERY loosely) come out and explain that our a/c unit was going to need some major parts replaced at an exorbitant amount of money $3000 or in his opinion to just replace the whole system for a mere $1000 more. Happen to get a second opinion on the matter and low and behold for less than the cost of these con-artists to come out and describe all the things wrong with my a/c unit we are up and running cool and comfortable. I did contact Alex and then also spoke to Greg to allow them to make this right. They chose not to even attempt to make this right. I would RUN from this company there are so many more out there that are better and that are actually TRUSTWORTHY. They will belittle you, talk down to you and this basically explains how they do business.

I needed a new A/C unit outside my house. I took a picture of the factory sticker on the unit that contained the model and size information needed to get a comparable estimate. I only live a few miles away, so I thought I'd stop by to request a quote. I spoke with the receptionist upon entry and she called a sales person and gave me the phone. After explaining my situation she said they'd have to schedule someone to come out. I explained that I have everything needed to provide a quote with me. She repeated that they would have to send someone out. This didn't make sense to me as I was trying to be efficient. I agreed to have an in house estimate. She then asked if morning or afternoon worked best. I said anytime after three works best. She went on to tell me that I would need to provide an available window from 12-5. I explained that I didn't want to take time off from work for this estimate and that anytime after three would work. We then agreed that one of my kids or wife could be there. She then told me to that the estimate would be $100 so make sure to leave them with funds to pay the man! This was all over the phone in be lobby of this business. Gave the receptionist back the phone and walked out. I will never do business with a company that charges for a quote.

I knew I was in trouble when the technician got out with a 3-ring binder giving a sales pitch and pricing for different levels of diagnostics starting at $299. Within 20 minutes he was up to $1700 in repairs and was not even 1/3 through his diagnostic checklist on a 7 yr old furnace. He said in order to finish the diagnostic checklist, he needed to replace the circuit board for $800+. At that point, I asked him to wrap it up and give me the invoice. That came to $355, which I refused to pay for the full amount as he did not finish the complete diagnostic due to the fact, I would not pay $800 for a circuit board. His manager and I agreed on a amount of $200 for his one hour of time and trip charge of $79. I called out a different local company and the technician had my furnace running within 20 minutes, checked a few other items, tested the carbonmonoxide output and charged me $120. Shame on this company for taking advantage of people. I am sure they get many people who pay those ridiculous charges because they are desperate to get it fixed and do not know any better. One last item, the gal who I spoke with on the phone stated we have a 11am available. I said , great, I will take it. She than proceeds to state, ok, we have 2 prices. One price the arrival window is 11 - 1 pm for $99 or 11 - 3 for $79 , I thought this was odd, as, she just told me we have a 11am opening , I said 11-3 for $79 is fine. He was there at 11. This company has thought of all kinds of ways to increase their revenue starting with the person who schedules the appointment. I am still angry the next day when I think about this !

I would give this company a NEGATIVE 5 stars if I could! Definitely NOT professionals!
I bought a dishwasher and microwave from Best Buy to be delivered/installed on Friday 9/30. No one showed up (install guy stated he was here but I work from home 100% and have never had any issues with deliveries. I also have a dog that barks at everything and I was making coffee at the time the driver stated he was here).
It unfortunately took Best Buy a full week of making calls and waiting on the installer to return the items to the warehouse so a second appointment could be scheduled. Finally a time was booked for today (12-4 window).
The installer calls today around 3:30 to say he would be here around 3:50. At 4:09 the installers show up and come in and start to unscrew the dishwasher face to look at the electrical setup. They next take out the microwave. At that time the installer states there is an issue with the dishwasher. Says he needs some clamps based on the plumbing setup (something to do with setup being 1/2 and he needs to convert to 3/4...).
Having stated the install would need to be rescheduled (yet again), I indicated Best Buy had me purchase all that was needed. I indicated this information should have been provided to us in advance as I am not an installer and with no forewarning, how would I know. I asked if he had the clamps with him in which his response was if I brought everything with me I would need a semi. I indicated if it is standard practice to set up installs only to have to reschedule, this is ridiculous.
Having already dealt with a no show and now waiting another week for this second appointment (and waiting until after 4:00 for them to arrive), I told the installer I would not be rescheduling. I told him to call Best Buy so they could get the needed clamps ready and if they started on the install of the microwave I would go pick the clamps up. He states no, we will need to reschedule. I asked why he didn't look at the plumbing first before unhooking and unscrewing everything as he would have seen that right away.
At this point I am irritated and ask that they put everything back as it was. I had already indicated to Best Buy if the install couldn't be done this week I was just going to cancel my order.
So this is where it really gets good...as I am on a call waiting for Best Buy to answer, I look over and the installer is ready to leave. I look over and my microwave is still not back on my wall. I say hold up, you need to put my microwave back. He says I can't as I broke the bolts taking it out. I can either leave your microwave or take it with me. I said then you need to put in my new one and he says no, I am out of here. Then he leaves..takes my microwave he broke the clamps on and doesn't leave or install my new microwave. Just leaves my house with a hole in in my kitchen wall!!
Not sure what criteria you have for your reps to follow in being professional, but I doubt it indicates it is okay to leave a house with a big gap in the wall. You were here to represent Best Buy and made both your company and Best Buy look terrible.
Not only will I share my distaste about your lack of quality service and staff professionalism with every person, website and forum I can, but I will be communicating to Best Buy that I will never buy anything from them again. Seriously, the installers you had come to my house today should go on a permanent break.
You simply can't make this stuff up! Unbelievable , unprofessional and truly unfortunate!

We needed a kitchen faucet replaced and called All Ways Drains as they were recommended to us by other residents in the building. Matt K. Was at our house within 4 hours and he was friendly, professional and clearly knew what he was doing! Our experience with this company was excellent and specifically with Matt was fantastic! And, while I do hope that it is a while before we need a plumber again, Matt and All Ways will absolutely be our go to from now on!

Matt and team overcharge (period). The companies business model is $ over customer satisfaction because of supply and demand. I paid 4500$ agreeable then they added 600$ bill for a total over 5,000$ for simple pressure tank and blow out! McCullough's in forest lake and others charge 1500$?? If you want work done and you don't care about personal customer service this may be the company to regret later :-).

Randy Lane & Sons are the best! They are thorough and very efficient in their work. I called them out to install a kitchen faucet and clear a clogged drain. Their technicians are courteous and know what they're doing. The cost meets the job. From the dispatcher to the technician, I give them all two thumbs up for their patience with me and completing the job in a timely matter.
