I needed a city air test done on newly added basement bathroom. They came out the first time, ran the test and it worked. So all that was left was schedule the test with a city inspector to approve it. After about 3 weeks, they were finally able to get availability to schedule the test with inspector. However, the test failed because they didn't apparently do it right the first time. So they had to come back and look at the issue and mine you they were charging me to come back and fix something they said they had fixed before. After about 3 hours of work, the plumber decides to leave with the issue unresolved and says he will have to come back another time to look at it. He does not put back P-traps in took out while he was working, sits in his van to write notes for 10 minutes which runs up the clock to the top of the hour, then charges me for extra 30 minutes because they charge in 30 minutes ranges. On top of that he was very rude. I definitely would not recommend Randy Lane & Sons Plumbing to anyone

This company came once and took our money. For the follow up, we waited around for two entire days and they did not show up or call even though we had an appointment. We cannot say much about their work because we will be using another plumber for this repair. They have a large staff in the office that are unable to give any information to customers. Their system is to have someone call you back. No one returns the call. Please use another business and save yourself the time and money.

OUTSTANDING! My husband and I were recently in the process of selling our home. In the process the buyer had a plumbing issue they asked to be addressed. We called Randy Lane and Sons and everyone from the office assistant to Brian Lane went out of their way to assist me with the process. Brian came to review the plumbing issue and was able to offer an expert opinion on the plumbing and even came out last minute on the day of the close to review his opinion with the buyer and the buyer's agent. Brian saved the day! For any plumbing issue going forward, my first call will be to Brian at Randy Lane & Sons Plumbing and Heating.

I would not recommend this company to anyway. My work was covered by an insurance company and they selected Randy Lane. They sent the owner of the company - Brian - to my house. His work was of low-to-average quality. In the process of the simple repair he was doing he pushed a pipe through my ceiling and then used a saw to make the hole bigger. He is now falsely stating that the hole was caused by water damage when it was clearly caused when he pushed a pipe through.
He also left a ladder at my house. I offered to give it back to him, but he has not called. So, unless you want free tools, false statements about their work, and a hole in your ceiling, do not use this company.
I would have to echo Emily's 11/4/13 comment. This plumber was recommended by the person who inspected our 1910 house in St Paul. I called for a plumber and they never showed. The office person was polite and apologized and we rescheduled for next day. Again they never showed or called. I had a separate appt for the company owner to stop out to give an estimate for replacing galvanized water lines with copper. He too never showed and no one called. Now that I see the comments on yelp and insider pages, sounds like a good thing they never showed.
Randy Lane & Sons are the best! They are thorough and very efficient in their work. I called them out to install a kitchen faucet and clear a clogged drain. Their technicians are courteous and know what they're doing. The cost meets the job. From the dispatcher to the technician, I give them all two thumbs up for their patience with me and completing the job in a timely matter.

We spent over $300 hiring Randy Lane & Sons Plumbing & Heating to install a gas range in our Minneapolis home and to pull a permit required by the City of Minneapolis.
Randy Lane installed the gas range without issue but absolutely refused to pull the permit that we explicitly made a line item in their work order. It took over 6 weeks of phone calls and the threat of litigation via certified mail to get them to pull the permit. We have finally passed inspection but I absolutely do not recommend you hire this company for a gas range installation in Minneapolis.
