Sid was very easy to talk with ..very prompt ..addressed my concerns and gave me good suggestions for things I had not even thought if..like a tankless heater that takes up less room in my small apartment and will save me $$ in electric bill not to mention the damage an old heater would do if it leaked..price was below what I thought I would spend and his workers are awesome..they went above and beyond my expectations...everything is well done and Sid was always checking with me to see if everything was good..I highly recommend Sid and his team

This review is not about the actual work, because we never got that far, but about the communication before any job was going to happen.

I called Morgan in June to get a quote for a tub to walk-in shower conversion. I read in the reviews that they specialize in this, and the photos I saw online impressed me.

Morgan asked me to send him some photos and details, such as measurements, address, email, etc. I sent him the information via text message a few minutes later. He then replied with a link to a brochure from which I could pick the tiles that were to be used. After the last text where I selected the floor tile, I suddenly heard nothing anymore. I figured, well, maybe tomorrow, as we were getting outside his normal business hours at that time.

Tomorrow came, but nothing. The next day, I sent him a message to ask if he was able to make a quote, but received no answer. Another day later, I tried calling him, but no answer. About an hour later, I received a text message, saying that he needed more time to get the quote. I said that was ok, but it was the last I heard from him.

Needless to say, I was sorely disappointed when I did not hear from him anymore. Not only because I was really hoping for them to do my bathroom (after all, Morgan appears to be doing a great job, if you can get him to work for you), but also because I was strapped for time with family coming in later this year (though, at that time, I still had several months). It made me feel the customer's time was not important. A quote shouldn't have to take days if this is something you do often, even a spitball amount would have been good to give me an idea if we could make this work. It was definitely not for a lack of budget on my end.

If you do not want to work with a customer (and that goes for any contractor out there, really), for whatever reason, let the customer know (and that goes for any contractor out there, really). It is basic customer service. After all, you never know who the customer knows and how they will mention your name whenever their friends or family need any service. It would've been ok to let me know the job was too small or that you were too busy. When you deal with someone yourself, you want them to answer, too. And I'm not even asking for

Anyway, I eventually did find another contractor, who not only did a tub-to-shower conversion but also replaced the vanities. The bathroom is entirely new again. Sadly, not thanks to La Rue Plumbing. :(

If you are looking to work with a clear headed, dependable and really fine craftsman, Rudy is your man.  Just today another contractor ( garage door repair person) commented on the quality of the work that Rudy did for us.  

I almost hesitated to give this review as he will likely be too busy next time....but it's important to share honestly and frankly.  We are grateful and thankful.

They are responsive and punctual, which is hard to find in a contractor.  I'm very critical of contractors as I have rarely had good experiences but Lin Construction impressed me.  They responded quickly when we had questions.  The job took 2 days to complete and they arrived precisely at the agreed upon time both days.  It was a smaller job I asked of them but they completed the work quickly and the finished result couldn't have been better.  Great work and professional approach.  They clearly explained what would need to be done and did exactly that.  I will definitely consider Lin Construction again if I need more work done on our home.

I called up Frank for a difficult screen job that I couldn't complete myself. The screens that I needed repaired were custom sized and I thought that this job was going to cost me a ton of money. Thankfully I called up Frank first! He built my new screens for an affordable rate and completed the job in no time at all. It was really easy to communicate with Frank during all steps of this job and I couldn't be happier with the finished product. I definitely recommend calling Frank up first for your home repair needs. Excellent customer service and all around a very positive experience. My windows have never looked better!

So our shower head was leaking and leaking quite a bit, called leaks r us and got an appt by the next morning. Tim came out and did a great job. Not only professional but friendly and explained everything. I'll definitely use this business again!

OK, now this really bothers me... I did not write a review for this company in the past and I would never write a review for this company for several different reasons. I am a small interior design firm and have used this company in the past. I understand owning a small business is difficult. I believe that honesty is number one and this company is not being honest because they're using my name to write a fake review and I do not like it one bit. We used them to install a gas line to our clients multi million dollar home and as it turned out it was not installed properly, someone smelled gas and called the fire department,  thank God. Fortunately the problem was fixed before the house blew up. For that reason I would not recommend this company and the other reason I would not recommend this company is it they're using my name to write a fake review ... Shame on you, shame on you, shame on you!  FYI, they should consider changing the name of their company because they are anything but professional.

Yup, I needed a plumber again and so I decided to call Elton and have come in and do the work I hate doing. I noticed some of the shut off valves under the sinks and for the toilets getting old and starting to drip a little. Also the ones outside were bad as well. Called Elton and set up an appt for 1000am...he was there just before 1000am... It is so hard to find a guy who is on time... Well Elton went to work and all the work was done fast and was clean. The other cool thing about Elton is he always looks professional and acts professional. He even went the extra mile and looked ofer a few other things in my house just to make sure all is good... Way cool guy...Take the time to support the little guy Call Johnson's Plumbing!!!

Alex, the OWNER of the company so friendly over the phone and offered free estimate, but WHAT he was a NO SHOW shame on you!!! Don't talk highly about big projects you accomplished when you GHOSTS us with no response back even on text. You got my address so no hate and retaliate when it's your fault!

I had a pipe behind my wall break and it flooded into my room.  They were there the very next day to fix it and the plumber was so nice.  When you call you always get an answer and they call you back when they say they will.  Best experience yet with a plumber.

Updated review (6/16/18):

Both the technician who serviced us and the manager called to follow up the next day, in large part to our Yelp review below.

The manager informed me that the technician selected the wrong item from their services list and thus, the charge was higher than it should have been. No problem, the technician could have been just starting on the job. Everyone makes mistakes.

We discussed and settled the issue with a price which was agreeable to both parties. We received a refund check for the difference in less than a week. Thank you!

Both the technician and the manager took the time to listen to my comments and concerns. They were very easy to work with and professional. It seems that Handy Andy Hawaii is very concerned about providing excellent customer satisfaction and also listening to feedback on how to improve their business processes (as they are a relatively young company). Kudos for this approach, you're on the right track to success with this.

Now that the price was in line with expectations, I'll add back the 2 stars plus a half star for the change in appointment times. That leaves a revised rating of 4.5 stars.

Late and Expensive.

Originally scheduled a toilet valve repair for 12-2 pm. Then it got moved to 4-6 pm. Then work finally started around 715 pm. Company did communicate all schedule changes successfully.

Valve replacement took less than 1 hour and cost nearly XXX. Their minimum service fee is a fixed charge which does not go toward any costs in the job as a minimum. Instead, it is added to the cost of the job. Replacement of valve and flapper only. What could I do, I needed it fixed.

Worker courteous and did the job successfully. No problems with the work so far.

Recommend a full quote prior to the worker coming out so you don't get sticker shock.

5 stars for the job getting done, minus 1 star for lateness, minus 2 stars for sticker shock price. On my value scale, it's a 2 star value vs price.

Will look elsewhere next time. I'm pretty sure I can find another company to do the job for 2/3 of the price I was charged for this type of small job and be on time.

When I needed a plumber to do a major job I called in several to find out which plumbing company was the best. I had to write this review because I want to alert others of this particular business.
This plumbing company stood out from the rest because they quoted the highest price. Not only was it the highest price it was much higher than the next highest quote.
Of course, I chose not to go with this company because of their exorbitantly high price but I felt that they were slick and I did not feel good about them. If I can't review a company based on their estimate and their customer service, then I guess I have no business writing this review. But, hey, Yelp is about giving other Yelpers a tip on businesses. And that's what I'm doing. Right?

I had called for some help with plumbing for my rentals, Frank gave great services and honest prices.

I highly recommend D's Plumbing.

If i could have selected zero stars, i definitely would have.
This is probably the absolute worst service I've ever received, anywhere. Everyone in the office is very rude. They dont introduce themselves, they are not feiendly, and they cut you off before you can even give the information they asked you for. Its as if they weren't brought up on using manners. The plumber that was sent to my house was very unprofessional. I couldn't identify him as a Kamaaina employee by his jeans & tank top. When he replaced my water heater, he asked my boyfriend to help him carry & install it. Since it was replaced, my shower hasn't had any hot water & when he came back to look at it he said it wasn't the fault of the heater. He said to talk to my resident manager & he left. Upon talking to my resident manager, he said that the valves were installed incorrectly. When we called back to get another plumber, it took us over 2 weeks to get somebody else out and they still haven't cone yet.
Worst company to deal with. So disappointing. Management should highly consider restructuring, or ceasing business entirely.
