Despite there being so many plumbers, it is so hard to find a good one.

I called Sam based on his reviews to check out an issue with my kitchen faucet and valve. However, a more urgent came up with my bathroom, and he was able to come by to check out the problem and not charge me for the visit.

He came back later to replace my faucet and valve and repaired a pipe they had corroded and leaking that was a surprise.

Sam and his apprentice did it fast and well. He knows brownstones, which is a plus since a lot of the plumbing is old in my apt and building.

Def would use him again without reservation!

A vintage faucet in my brownstone was leaking and I did not expect a plumber to have time to fix it any time soon. But mere hours after asking for a quote, Sam was at my door, ready to work. Within minutes he diagnosed the problem, replaced a washer and returned the faucet to working order.

It was evident that Sam knew brownstones and how older fixtures behave. And he is local. Win win win.

Something I have learned over the years: never do your own plumbing or electrical. Call on the professionals. This is what Sam and his company are, of the highest order.

I reached to Sam in the morning for a broken pipe in my yard. He was super quick with his response, gave me a quick quote and arrival time. On arrival, he was super quick in getting the issue resolved even though it was not the easiest location to fix. Extremely professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. He even gave me some advice about the boiler and my water pressure. I have another repair which is needed but he was honest enough to say it's better to do it when it's warmer. This guy is very nice but NOT A GOOD PLUMBER! He doesn't know the difference of any type of pipes and installments. Blames the prior person for doing it correctly. He makes mistakes and runs. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a real plumber. Seriously!!! Word of advise from Agatha!

While Sam was responsive in booking services, he sub-contracted out my plumbing issue to a different company. When the 2 plumbers arrived, they did not identify as being affiliated with Sam's plumbing and insisted my building had hired them. They did not perform the power snaking service I specifically requested and my toilet continues to not work properly. Bottom line - I went to Sam's plumbing because of the great reviews, not to have the job outsourced to a random plumbing company with questionable reviews.

Sam was professional, on time, and knowledgeable!

I reached out to him because a pipe was redirecting water to outside our home. He was the first to reply on yelp and came the same day. He explained to me what happened and what I should do to prevent it from happening again. He fixed the issue right away. He also fixed another issue we had in the bathroom while he was here. Charged a very reasonable amount and answered every question I threw at him. (Which was a lot)

Excellent demeanor. This guy has earned his reviews.

Had a problem with a sink with very little water pressure, one plumber was called and the guy couldn't figure out the pressure problem. Gave Sam a call and he arrived, to my surprise on time. Sam corrected the pressure trouble. I found Sam to be knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge. I will recommend Sam to friends and relatives.

Sam basically saved us tonight. When we noticed our front outside drain wasn't draining, I had a bad feeling about it and gave him a call (I also called our regular plumber, but they hadn't even returned my call by the time Sam was already at our house). It was late in the day on a Sunday, but he still made time to come over and help us out, tacking us onto the end of his long day. He had to partially knock out a wall to discover the problem, but he was able to avert a future crisis that could been much more serious. He was kind, courteous and fair. Will definitely call again with any future issues, and would recommend to anyone in the area looking for an honest and reliable plumber.

We've had an ongoing issue with our plumbing since we moved in a few months ago. We've had three plumbers come and look at it. Two said various things about the kitchen faucet, the check valve, the water heater, etc. Sam took one look at it, diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes of arriving at my apartment and had it fixed in 30. Sam responded within minutes to my initial request, and the plumber came the next morning. The plumber was friendly and professional and cleared my bathtub drain in less than 15 minutes. Masks and gloves were worn the entire time. Fair pricing compared to other estimates I received. I originally contacted this business for a quote on a simple install of a showerhead and bathtub faucet. I hadn't done the research at the time, but quickly learned that it was about a 20 minute job that any monkey could do. Shmuel (or whatever his name is) quoted me $275. Ok... But because he took the time to explain the work, I still left a kind review here. But no good deed goes unpunished, and when I contacted him for the next job with the minimal expectation of a quote (no matter how inflated), he wouldn't give even me a quote and gave me a snarky response. Clearly, I'm on to his gouging and he knows he'll get nowhere with me. In terms of business personalities, I would definitely avoid this person and their business. Especially if you don't like being overcharged. At the very least, get another quote.

When none of my tricks worked, I called Sam's, based on the large number of 5 start reviews. It was before office hours (7:30am) but I figured I would leave a message. I got a prompt text response that I assumed at first was a bot. I sent a photo and brief description, he sent an accurate quote. Within two hours of my call, my sinks was functioning again. He even gave great advice on how to prevent further issues and took Venmo. Easy to communicate with, personable and respectful.

Our water heater stopped working last night and we had a leak under the appliance. Found Sam's Plumbing Services in Google. I called the Plumbing Service and talked to Sam who asked to take pix of the water heater in different angles. Sent the pix to Sam who said it can't be fixed; it needs to be replaced. He came the same day to replace the water heater and got it working. He was prompt, reliable, and professional. Thank you for your excellent service, Sam!!

Sam was friendly, had great communication skills, and got the job done. We hired him to resolve a shower drain clog and a possible bathroom sink clog. He gave us a quote upfront via text. He takes cash, check, or Zelle. He isn't allowed to remove his shoes due to insurance and safety requirements, but he did accommodate us by wrapping his shoes with slip-on plastic bags. We expected a much older gentleman, but Sam clearly had experience and was skilled in his work.

I have a shower stall that started making loud noises whenever I turned the water on. It sounded exactly like that episode in The Honeymooners when Ralph thought he had gotten shot by bank robbers after Alice turned the kitchen sink on.

As if that weren't bad enough, the faucet for the cold water started leaking. Just as things couldn't be any worse, the faucet for the hot water pretty much broke, meaning that we had non-stop hot water coming out of the showerhead.

I contacted Sam's Plumbing Services sight unseen, because our usual go-to guy (whose name ironically is also called Sam) has been MIA for months. I was asked by Sam's Plumbing Services to send some pictures and was given a quote. Someone came to the house the next day, right on schedule. The job was done very quickly, cleanly and professionally, and I was given advice to replace the shower head, which was so old and filled with gunk, it looked like it just came off the set of a post-apocalyptic movie shoot. Now the cold water faucet doesn't leak and both faucets turn the water off without issues.

All in all, I'm very pleased and I'll definitely contact this company again.

My tenant had a running toilet and I'm based out of state at the moment. He was able to make it to the apartment quickly, was brilliant about staying in contact with me and fixed it for a very reasonable price. He was also nice enough to have a conversation with me about how I can be proactive about future problems I may encounter (he wasn't pushy or up-selling in the least, he was genuine and I really appreciate it).

I have an old style 3 knob tub/shower. The hot water knob didn't shut off. Most plumbers I called wanted to rip out the wall and replace the whole thing. I found Sam here on Yelp. Sam stocks parts for these older systems! He came right away, replaced the part. Cleaned up. Shower works great again. Wore a mask. Really pleasant to deal with. No plumber is cheap anymore, but he saved me $$$ by fixing rather than replacing! He will be my first call from now on.

I selfishly detest writing good reviews for services such as these because I worry when companies get too big, the excellent service slips away. Alas, that is not only assuming but also mean of me to think and so I will go ahead and reveal to you that Sam's is truly the way to go if you need basic plumbing help here in Brooklyn. Possibly big and fancy jobs too though I, personally, can't speak to those situations.

I can tell you the man fixes a leaky sink with quickness and precision and without breaking the bank. He communicates well ahead of arrival by asking for photo/videos via text messaging to get the ball rolling. His work is clean and effective, and he stands by it along with having the most competitive prices around. In essence, he is too set on making a good, honest business that he doesn't seem to have time or resources to not just do it right and well from the get go. You can't go wrong. Yay Sam!

Sam is awesome. He is extremely responsive and almost always can come right away. I own two brownstones in Brooklyn and have enlisted his services many times. Each time he fixes the problem quickly and efficiently, and then calls me to detail exactly what was done. He will even let me know about other things he sees, even if it's something I can then take care of on my own. His pricing is reasonable, too. It's hard to find an honest plumber, but Sam is the real deal. I rarely write Yelp reviews, and I have been so, so frustrated with finding a great plumber in my neighborhood, so I am THRILLED to have found Sam's Plumbing Services - at the very end of an extremely chaotic week (Post-Ida aftermath), we found Sam around 10 AM on Friday and he made time in his schedule to come see us 2 hours later. Late review, but I really appreciate their services. We had a toilet malfunction a few months ago and the superintendent of our building was not responding to the urgency of the situation. I messaged the plumber via text and they arrived in a matter of a few hours. He fixed the current problem as the bigger issue would have to be handled by our apartment building. I don't think I can stress enough how bad the situation was and we are very thankful for the quick service. The price to me seemed reasonable and we paid via Venmo.

I made an appointment for Sam to come and assess my house. I paid $150 for his total time of 10mins. He said that I needed two different parts, one for each toilet. Then he said, he will text me later with the price. He text me $345 for the parts,, not including his labor fee. I texted him back, what are these 2 parts. Then he sent me this message which I copied and paste. Hi I understand your curiosity about the work but if I tell my clients what to do and what to buy it wouldn't be much of a career for me. PLUMBING issue was leaking pipes beneath kitchen sink. Sam requested photos of the affected areas, gave me a quote. Worked around my time availability also. Repair was quick, quiet and clean. Confirmed appointment with me the day before, arrived on time. Advised me on care of the new system from sink drain down to the main pipe. 3 days later and all is well. Finally a REAL PLUMBER. I was referred to Sam's plumbing service for maintenance on a drain issue. I reached out to Sam and he was very responsive. We coordinated a date and time to assess and fix the problem. (You see, I live in GA and the house is in NY) so with pictures being sent to him, he was able to asses the issue and he fixed the problem.

Sam came out to my investment property in Brooklyn after I received an emergency call from a tenant. He was able to prioritize my situation and make it to my house to address the issue within 2 hours of my emergency call to him. He was professional and courteous, and very thorough. As an out-of-state owner, it's often difficult to find reliable services, but Sam is DEFINATELY a keeper. Messaged the owner late one evening to get a quote on fixing my leaky shower. Didn't expect to get a response that night but happily got one in less than an hour! I messaged Sam when my old hot water heater died and was leaking rusty water into my downstairs neighbor's kitchen. He responded right away and after asking lots of questions and sending pictures back and forth he gave me a quote and scheduled a time to come replace it. He sourced the new water heater, arrived with an assistant who helped him get it up the stairs into my fourth floor walkup, then emptied the old one and took that down the many stairs, all of which seemed pretty harrowing. They then did some welding in our extremely small water heater closet and probably saved my life by pointing out how bad the ventilation was in there. I hadn't died of carbon monoxide poisoning in 5 years of living in the apartment, but WHO KNOWS how things might have turned out if not for Sam. And my shower is so hot now it's the best. Don't you want hot showers???

Sam came to my home in Queens to repair a leaking cast iron radiator in my living room. It was also missing the valve handle, which added to the drama. The house was built in the 1930's and it has never been serviced. I work remotely for my company and had several video/Zoom conferences that I unfortunately had to attend. In-between the meetings, Sam was able to keep me informed on the radiator's issues and his proposed solutions. The radiator needed to be re-pitched correctly since the floor boards were old and warped, and the air vent and radiator valve were rusted and had to be replaced. The radiator is now leak-free and quiet. I will definitely use his services in the future and have recommended his plumbing skills to my friends and Mom, so you know he must be good at his job. Lastly, he is tech-savy. He had me take pictures of my radiator's issues and send it to him via my cellphone. I remember rotary phones, so using my cell phone to help Sam examine my radiator issues before he showed up, was awesome...

Called Sam to help with a leaking toilet. Sam came through right away, but unfortunately our toilet had different sized parts than normal for some reason, so he actually went out to find the right sized parts. He made sure by the time he was done, everything was in working order. Very professional, knows what he's doing, and was a great help for us. Would highly recommend and call again if needed!

Sam was a total life saver. Last night (Saturday evening at around midnight) my kitchen sink would not drain. I have a garbage disposal/insinkerator hooked up and I did not know if the problem had to do with the insinkerator or the drain. Of course I went to bed thinking that I was going to have to be without the kitchen sink until Monday. Well, I called Sam based on the reviews (yes, Sunday morning), and Sam came to my apartment in less than 90 minutes. I am so beyond grateful. He was professional and very reasonable for what he did. He fixed my sink, and once he was here I had him also clean the bathroom shower drain. Sam - Thank You. I will definitely be calling you again when the need arises. Sam repaired my pipes after they froze and burst this winter. Answered within a day via text but didn't eventually come through because my request job is apparently too small for them to do (reason given was that they have other commitments, which by the way was not stated/communicated when I initially requested a date for a consultation visit). The other good reviews originally brought me to want to reach out to Sam's, but I don't think a plumber who would pick and choose client based on size of the job would be the one I'd be using. This happens when the contractor starts to get more business given yelp review but then they start to pick'n'choose work, unfortunately.

Sam did an excellent job replacing broken water heater. Our heater did not work, Sam arrived in 1 hour, inspected, try to fix it with replacement parts. Because our heater was more than 10 years old that did not work. He said it was unsafe to use it. He ordered the new heater and in 1 day on Sunday replaced it. He explained every step thoroughly, gave as options, worked efficiently, helped to move out and back in our heavy laundry washer and dryer, cleaned area after repair.
It was nice to have him working in our place, he was honest and pleasant to work with.
Can recommend Sam's Plumbing Services without hesitation for any sort of plumbing work.

This was a great experience. I had a corroded toilet flush valve and flapper. Sam replaced everything fast even though he had to work in a very tight space and weird angle. He explained the problems and his solution. To top all that off his fee was economical. For the ladies, I'm a very small person, 5 feet, and 100 pounds, and I've had lots of service people in my house, you will not feel intimidated or creeped out, Sam is polite and has a non threatening manner about him and he is neat and clean.

I called Sam for a clogged toilet. Sam responded right away and showed up 30 min later. It turned out the sewer was clogged, so Sam unclogged the sewer for me. One good hour of tedious work. I saw him trying everything. He did a great job, had a pump to remove excess water and proposed to clean after that. Also, I was able to negotiate the price with him. 10 days later and everything is still working properly. I am satisfied then. I definitely recommend him. Serious guy willing to work with his customers.

great service and communication! I made an appointment and when the time was getting close Sam called me himself to say that previous job overrun he is running a bit late. He showed up and quickly get through the pipes!
Overall I have the great experience. He never left me to dangle wondering how long I will wait, the price is very reasonable, the job was done quickly and accurately. I can recomend without any reseravtions.

We had an outdoor faucet stop working and we were not sure if the knobs/pipes had been damaged because of the past freezing NY winter. I called Sam and explained and he said he could not make it til the following week. A few hours later, he text'd and called and said he had an open window that day. Kudos! As our outdoor faucet was an unconventional setup, he asked as much information as possible before investigating. Not only did he figure out what the problem was but gave us important instructions on pipe maintenance and damage prevention. He is knowledgable about his craft, courteous, and super nice! His pricing is also very fair. I will definitely call Sam again if we have any other plumbing issues.

We've had problems with pipes freezing each winter since we moved into our house and have had other plumbers come out to advise before (in vain), but Sam is the first who identified this particular problem and how to fix it. We have a flushmate pressurized toilet system that decided to explode randomly last Sunday night, dumping an entire tank of water all over our bathroom. Initially we reached out to another plumber who, without even coming to see the toilet in person, told us we needed to replace the entire thing at a cost of $500+, not including labor. Thankfully we decided to get a second opinion from Sam, who came to our house the day after we called him, took apart our toilet, and identified that we just needed to replace the gasket. He tried to use one he had on hand, but due to the specifications of the flushmate system it didn't work. He had initially quoted me a very reasonable rate, but then he didn't even charge me for all the work he put in taking apart the toilet and trying to replace the gasket because in the end the toilet was still not working. He advised me to call flushmate directly, a few days later they sent a new gasket, and Sam came by the next morning to put it in. He was super fast, replaced the gasket in less than 15 minutes, and now our toilet is like new, all for a FRACTION of the cost the first plumber had quoted. We will definitely be using Sam's plumbing for any plumbing needs we have in the future. He was super responsive, friendly, efficient, and professional!

Sam was terrific. I came home from a week away to find our building had no hot water. Got a quote from Sam within 10 minutes of sending the request and he made time to come that afternoon and get it fixed. He kept me apprised of the (very reasonable) costs throughout the process. When the work was complete, he gave me a rundown of the work he had done as well as some really helpful tips about our particular water heater and things to watch for moving forward. Also just a pleasant, friendly person! Highly recommend.
