Super down-to-earth and easy to work with. Prompt and friendly. Have used them twice, thumbs up all the way!

I called about my non-working water heater flooding the basement at 8:30 a.m., and we had a new one just 4 hours later. (They were even on another job when I called.) They are professional, respectful, and friendly to dogs. My heater was over 20 years old, so it was overdue.

Friendly and informative on the phone in helping me to select disposer. Plumber came when promised. He too was friendly and competent. Cleaned up after his install. This is a multi-generation family business, and I appreciate that.

Trent went above and beyond what I expected and in the end, he ended up saving me $300. He was honest and upfront with his opinion on the work I requested, and actually refused to do what I originally called for, as it would be more than what was needed and could potentially damage the main drain line.

Having an unnatural spring - bubbling up in your front yard and flooding into the street - is not a good way to start the day. It turned out that our water line from the street into the house had broke and, according to a city Water Dept employee who came out, we needed a new line.
Out of the seven companies I contacted, only two returned my emails or phone call. Ron from Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer & Water was one of them (and certainly the nicest and most generous).
Ron came out to my house to assess, educate, and advise. I could immediately tell that he was full of integrity and genuinely interested in me getting the best time line and solution to my major water issue ... even if that meant me selecting a competitor. He walked me through my options - clearly laying out pros and cons within the context of my needs, which he actually inquired about - and didn't make any promises he couldn't keep.
Up until his crew did the work, Ron was in constant contact with me. The crew hit some unexpected challenges while doing the work and, just like Ron, were patient in holding my hand through the options. It's clear that everyone associated with Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer & Water knows the best practices of managing water and understands the long-term implications of any decision.
I was impressed with the speed and quality of their work. And if you like dealing with people who know customer service - and can even make a typically stressful situation fun - Ron, his brother Kevin, and the rest of the Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer & Water gang are the best option for what they do in the whole Twin Cities metro area.

Bonsoir tout le monde !
I've used them before when I had some problems with my air conditioning, and they are very good at delivering bad news! I also like that they have military veterans on their staff, as a Marine it's nice to be able to relate and communicate well with them! Bryan came to work on my furnace today, and the man really knows himself and seems like a decent human being! I have no complaints, plus I have heat again! They need to give this man a raise, and it think it would be cool if they have them pins that correlate with their branch of service! All in all, they're great service providers who do great quality work! 10/10 recommend!

They have always been good to us. They can usually fit me in to open up our sprinklers in the Spring or to blow them out later in the Fall.

They've helped us out a couple times with leaking, corroded valves. The plumbers and scheduling staff are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable. Well done! Much appreciated!

I called Barnes Plumbing to have them take care of some minor repairs around the house. The office staff was very friendly when I was scheduling the work and Chris the plumber who arrived was also very friendly and professional. He called 20 minutes before arriving, used boot covers the whole time, and was happy to answer many questions and explain various plumbing components throughout my newly purchased home. He also thoroughly tested his repairs and actually caught a small pipe crack that was overlooked at first. Labor rate seems average, but he charged me an extra 15 minutes when he had to run to the hardware store for a basic part. Overall, I am happy with the work and would recommend Chris to others needing plumbing service.

Hi there, giving them 2 stars as the tech that came out very nice and polite and the company did respond pretty quickly to my dispute. Was hearing some strange sounds from my boiler so asked neighbors who to contact that was affordable/trustworthy. Was referred to Forrest heating. Called number for them and was surprised that they had answered as Cities1. They explained the had purchased Forrest Heating and he was now working for them. Set an appointment to have it looked at the next week.
Rep came out and was nice and respectful and had me crank up my heat to see what happened in less than ten min he let me know the unit was heating too high so the High Limit Temp sensor/modual was bad and would run out to the truck to call hiss boss and check and see how much it would cost to fix. After talking to his boss he came back in and let me know it would be about $700 to fix. I asked for a breakdown of the cost and he said he would have his boss call back to give me a breakdown. He also warned me that his boss would likely try to sell me a new boiler given mine was a bit old. Given the cost I said I would have to get another opinion before making a decision.
Called another group and explained the condition, part needed and the cost which was met with a laugh. I will admit we didn't discuss the specific product number but I informed him it was a Bryant unit from the 1970's and gave home the model and he stated the part itself should be no more than $100-150 and takes 10 min to install. He then asked if I had turned the temp up on the sensor and turned it back down as it can be common for them to stick? I tried it per his instructions and now everything is working fine again, no $700 fix.
Fast forward a month later a bill shows up in the mail (which I fully expected) for $205 for the 15 min visit (which I did not expect) Emailed the company given the cost and being less than satisfied with the $700 quote for a sticky switch and the trying to sell me a new boiler for a minor issue and to their credit the owner got back to me right away. Politely tried explaining to me that $205 is the minimum charge for a house call and that their rates are competitive and even for small jobs they have to bill for more time to make it worth their while. We ended our conversation at that.
In conclusion, I'm giving them 2 stars as they came out on time and were responsive to my dispute, but I would not recommend them based on their trip costs, parts cost, calculation of time billed for and in my opinion an emphasis on getting you to do the most expensive things not trying and explaining other alternatives.

Ok I don't know what is going on with this place. We have a clogged kitchen drain and my neighbor highly recommended them, great! I called them a few times this morning, got a busy signal a couple of times then got through to an answering machine saying it was Dad's Plumbing. I left a message and didn't hear back for a few hours, so I tried calling a few more times today - which I think is a pretty normal thing to do when trying to reach a business, especially when you have something time sensitive like a clogged drain? Anyway, someone finally answered and said I was harassing them and did I want a lawsuit? And then called me a b****. So, I'm not sure if their number changed or what. But again, the answering machine message at this number does say it's Dad's Plumbing so.... ? I'd love to hear back from somebody at this business.

An absolutely awful service. We had our furnace replaced by K&S. After inspecting our system, they installed a natural gas furnace instead of what we needed which is a propane one. This mistake is almost unbelievable for a heating and air company. After they convert it to propane and get it running, we find a propane leak where they were working. We attempted to get them out to fix the leak, but they first show up without the tools to pressure test our system to find the leak and then send a totally different guy who doesn't even show up to our house. I gave up with them and called a different company who was out within the day, leak was found and fixed immediately. All in all, K&S is NOT worth the hassle.

No idea of the quality of this service as they never showed up for my scheduled tune up appointment. I waited over 2 weeks for an appointment and when the person didn't show up I called them. First I was told I had the wrong date. I did not have the wrong date. They called me back and said they had to reschedule my appointment but had FORGOTTEN TO CALL ME. We had cleaned out the furnace room and were awaiting the results of the inspection to determine if we could do another home improvement or if we'd need a new furnace in the near future. They REALLY caused problems for us by doing this! I wouldn't waste my time with this company as they are obviously unreliable and have little concern for anyone's schedule other than their own. There are better providers out there who will put their customers first.

Made an appointment with this company the said they were booked out for 11 days. Jim Anderson called way past his appointment time of 8 AM at 10:30 am saying he was having trouble with his truck and he would be here in a hour. Jim arrived around noon and he says he needed a longer hose and a permit from the city and that he would be back this afternoon. Jim never came back or called .So I Called the city and he hadn't got the permit or every been there. I left a message for him after 4 pm and he never called back. Jim finally calls the next day and says his pump is broke and he would call when it was fixed. I told him no thanks and we would find someone else. We called a different sewer Co. and they came out the day same.
