Mike is pretty great! Once you're able to get him scheduled up he does fantastic work. I threw a TON of different needs/tasks at him - from installing electrical outlets to repairing some plumbing, and he was even able to help install a Ring Doorbell when the existing doorbell wiring was WAY too short to reach!

Mike is a problem-solver and he takes each task all the way to it's successful conclusion. He works at a very good pace and his rates are very reasonable as well IMO. What more could you need?

I called Mike at Copper State Electric because of his good reviews. I needed a plumber ASAP. This was January 10th, Mike said he was busy that day, which was fine, but I needed an electrician too, but no urgency for that work. So we continued to text and set up an appointment for 9am on 2/23. I texted him at 8:20 on 2/23 to confirm the appointment. At 9:30 I texted again to see if he was coming. Mike said he overbooked the day, but said he would come by on 2/25 at 9:00am... On 2/24 he texted at 10:50am and said he could be there at noon. I said great, but it would probably just be a survey of the what needs to be done (a lot btw), as I couldn't stay home that day all afternoon. Mike says he will be there at noon.

I live in a condo high rise, and when Mike got here he asked for what unit, which I told him. He then said there is no place to park, which when I looked outside I saw there was at least three spots and was texting of that fact, as I watching Mike driving past those spots in his truck, and he continued down the road. He texted me and said, ... I do not like to work on buildings downtown. Sorry to have wasted your time. And then he continues to insist that my building is a apartment building, which when it was built in 1964 it was, but it has been condos since 1979.

IN SUMMARY:
So waited three weeks for an appointment, Mike missed that appointment, rescheduled for another time but when he arrived he just left without even coming in... He seemed nice on the phone... Your milage may vary. If Mike responds and contradicts any of this, I will post the entire text change where I have taken Mike's quotes.

After having Mike out to put in a new garbage disposal, we discussed taking out the old tube lights and cheap plastic covers in my kitchen ceiling and putting in recessed lighting. I have had this task on my mind since I purchased my condo. I also have other remodeling tasks on my mind as well.

Mike showed me photos of other similar work he has done. I was impressed and the quote to do the job was fair. I decided to take a chance and go for it. He only needed two half days, including painting, and he was done. It's been a week now, and I could not be happier!

Mike really did a nice job! I have had a few neighbors over to see his work as well so that when they are ready to do something like this in their kitchen, they will know who to call.

Original: 1 star not for the worked performed but the response time. Yelp says 8 hours, try 3 days. Good for them that they're busy. Seems nice but not someone I'd call again.

Update: The only incorrect thing I wrote in my original review is that the person seems nice. I admit I was completely wrong about that. I don't appreciate being harassed about taking down a factual review. See photo convo attached and his response since he didn't get his way. I'm not the only yelper that had comments about the attitude. You've been warned.

I rarely feel compelled to write reviews, but I feel that others should know great Mike was. I live in a 1950's home where things are always falling apart. He helped me on a variety of projects including installing a new water heater, patching up walls, fixing my front door, balancing fans, and installing new locks on my front door. He did all these projects with great care and efficiency. I was impressed with how each project came out and how knowledgeable he was. He saved me money by fixing items I thought I would need to replace (like my front porch light fixture). And it's nice to find someone with a positive attitude and a sense of humor. Definitely having Mike come back.

Mike came to our house to install a porch swing on our front porch. He was easy to communicate with, his prices were reasonable, and he did a great job. When he was done, I asked if he had additional time to install a drying rack in our laundry room knowing that this had been on my to-do list for quite some time. I really struggle with writing a bad review for a small business person but I believe my situation warrants it. I actually hired him twice and it was the second time that I have the issue with. I hired him to install a new water heater which he did, but once there were problems with it, that is when he ghosted me. A brand new 40 gallon mid-level water heater should not run out of hot water entirely in 6 minutes. He told me the problem was I had to turn the temperature all the way up on the water heater but I explained that the water temperature was already hot, just for a very short time. I texted and wrote him several times to no avail and I did get a response back twice saying that he would come out and fix it but never came out and fixed it or answered any of my follow-up emails or texts. So now I have a junk water heater that runs out of hot water in 6 minutes.

Having used Copper State before.... They were the first place I called when I had an Epic Fail of having a friend try to install my Pendant light in my dining room.
Mike gave me a time.... showed on time.... and did the job start to finish in under an hour.
Shame on me for not calling him in the first place.

I don't usually take the time to write reviews, hardly ever actually. However, I felt it was extremely important for people in search of a handyman to be forewarned. First of all, I do want to start by saying that Mike is good at what he does, so that was not the issue. The issue was his RUDE and crappy attitude! He is short, condescending, and has very little patience. He also has very poor communication skills, and overall I have to agree with his other reviewer that gave him a 1 star. He doesn't seem like he enjoys what he does at all, and is very unpleasant to have in your home. There are so many beautiful, kind, compassionate humans out there, and plenty of handymen (that are way less expensive) that do a fantastic job without the attitude. Do yourself a favor and don't waste a minute of your energy on this guy!

Mike was great to deal with. Hearing that there was a water leak involving the faucet repair he was able to come by sooner than anybody else, on a Sunday morning no less!. He arrived on time, got right to work and even took care of a small water leak from the RO system. The total cost was very reasonable and considering the other estimates that I had received were more than double what this cost in total, even adding the cost of a new shutoff valve and the RO leak repair! I can only imagine what some of the others would have tacked on for an emergency charge or the added costs for those extra parts. Mike took the time to clean up the area, and make sure that everything was in working order. Super job, will be keeping his number close by for future projects!

I couldn't get the electricity to go on in my bedroom. Several repair services told me they couldn't help me for 2 days. Michael was able to help me the same day. He called me to tell me what time to expect him and arrived on time.
He introduced himself to me - and my dogs.
By asking questions, he got the info he needed for repairs. It was a simple solution, taking just a few minutes. He was kind, telling me I didn't owe him.
Michael educated me regarding what to do before I call anyone. He suggested I could save money by prioritizing a list of to do's so he could get more done the next time I need his services (which are reasonably priced).

I did an entire 1930 historic house overhaul and rehabilitation with Mike and his work was always outstanding. With this type of undertaking we ran into MANY unforeseen challenges, but each time Mike called me with at least two viable solutions and ways to keep the project moving forward. He didn't just text me a photo and ask me what I thought we should do. With extended projects like this there has to be patience and communication from both parties and Mike was very good with this. He understood the goals of what I wanted the house to look like and he took pride in providing that level of service and workmanship.

If you want a $60 repair, Mike isn't your guy, take your fake feeling of entitlement and importance somewhere cheaper. If you want quality work and a handyman who treats your home like his own....hire Mike and sleep better at night.

Long overdue 5 star review coming your way! Mike, thank you for doing such a fantastic job installing our dog door, and later the shutters out front.
I would be remiss not to mention that the dog door required Mike to HAND CHISEL away block wall, which he did with a smile. I also didn't purchase all of the appropriate parts (classic), and he happily left mid-project to go to Lowes down the street.
Arguably even better than the great job he did, he's a dog lover. I have three, and they're not docile which means anytime I have strangers in the house I have to worry about whether or not they person is going to be timid or the dogs are going to cause an issue. Mike is so easy going.

As with other reviewers, I have texted Mike to schedule, and he's responsive with easy booking.

Thanks again Mike! I tell people about you all the time (just gave out your card yesterday), bout time I got around to Yelping about you! :)

Soooo RUDE!
Not only is the voicemail SOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL but the owner Mike was nothing short of a jerk.
He got mad when I declined his quote and continuously messages me until I blocked him.
Why would I pay for a $55 Hrly rate plus whatever materials you are going to buy when The entire job was quoted for $60 from another Yelp business?
He got mad and texts me you get what you pay for well Not with Mike you don't. You pay twice the amount and get the same as if you'd used another reputable Yelp business.

Do yourself a favor, steer clear from this man. I finally blocked his number so he'd leave me alone.

In response to his comment which clearly shows how professional he is...Good luck sir, very happy we have yelp to inform others about people like you!

And for anyone interested I will update review once repair is done by other Yelp company and post all their info so others can use them instead of mad Mike here.

I contacted mike after Response Crew poorly hung a wall mounted entertainment center in my apartment. It ripped out of the dry wall and came crashing down ruining many valuables. Unlike the handyman with Response Crew, mike came in, did what needed to be done to fix the issue , got it hung properly, and left! And it was CHEAPER than the previous company who tried running the clock to get more money out of me. I paid half of what I paid the first time to get the job done right. Also, since he charges by the hour, he even asked if there was anything else that I needed done before he left since my task hadn't taken the full hour! Don't make the same mistake I did and go straight to Mike!! He is friendly, fair, and efficient. Thanks mike!!

I had two projects in my home that required a handyman. I contacted Mike and we set up a time for him to do the work. I had never met him but he was referred to me on Nextdoor. Am I ever glad I hired him! He came in and got right to work installing a doggie door flap and problem solving and then repairing a part of my wood floor. He takes pride in his work and does not leave a mess. His rates are reasonable and fair. He is also a very nice person. I have already shared his contact info with friends and neighbors. This the best and most proficient Handyman that I have ever used. He has installed lights and made various repairs around my house 3 times this year. He is the only one that I would consider to do these things for me since the first time he did a great job and every other time he did too. He gets the job done and quickly and and economically and would trust him with almost any repair around my house. My house is pretty well the way I want it after living in it for 30 years in Phoenix. Mike has been fantastic with all of the tasks we have had him help us with. Earlier in the year, we purchased an investment property and needed someone to fix up several small things in the house. One of which included fixing up the kitchen cabinets. Several contractors we received bids from gave us so much grief regarding the cabinets (said we needed to replace them) and also fixing the spa tub. They wanted to charge us an arm and a leg, too.

I found Mike through an ad on Craigslist and called him in a last-ditch effort. My husband immediately liked him but the most important part was that Mike wasn't afraid to take on the things we wanted. He didn't hesitate to say that fixing the kitchen cabinets wouldn't be a problem. Being a handyman, his prices were extremely reasonable. Mike demonstrated excellent communication with my husband and we appreciated being informed every step of the way. He also had a great sense of humor and we enjoyed interacting with him.

Mike was also perfectly fine going to Home Depot with my husband so that we could purchase supplies on our Home Depot card. Incredibly, he even struck up a few deals with the salesperson to save us more money! A few times while we were at the property doing yardwork, he was quick to lend us any of his tools to help us out.

All in all, we were very pleased with his work on the house (fixing and rebuilding the kitchen cabinets, removing and installing a new tub, repairing and installing landscape lighting controls that were stolen, installing and repairing lighting, plumbing, and repairing various components on the exterior of the house). Great, great guy to work with and we were lucky to have found him.

Michael painted a closet, changed a filter and prescribed the fix for a broken disposal. He is on board to do a whole bunch of other repair and maintenance things for us. MIke finished my kitchen remodel by painting the backsplash and light boxes, totally updated my bathroom with new paint, hardware, toilet, and vanity/sink.
Excellent work... while he was at it I asked if he could look at fixing the grout in my guest bathroom shower. He did that also.
Very affordable, efficient, and all around excellent work and an individual.

However after several emails back and forth before we could settle on a date for him to come out, he then wasted my time by never showing up or even bothered to call or email to cancel. Marco in particular assisted us with replacing tiles and fixing damage and was AMAZING! Definitely would recommend his service to future clients. Very late review, but that's on me. I'm busy and forgot all about how Mike helped me when I bought my first house and he came over and just fixed all the little things that I never would have ever gotten to. Now I need a little more things done, and I found his card, and it reminded me of the work he did.

I'll keep this short - the man is a jack of all trades, no surprises, and he just jumps in and starts to get things done, including running down the road a few blocks to get some things at Home Depot.

He even told me that one of the things I needed fixed, didn't need fixed, but just needed to be cleaned a bit. He could have easily spent an hour fixing/replacing something that didn't need to be fixed - but he didn't. It's stuff like that where you realize that you are dealing with someone who is just going to do his best and not try to rip anyone off.

Thanks, Mike - after a year I need a few more tweaks with the plumbing and electric, so I'll be giving you a call.

One more time I had to call Mike.

I sent him a text at 6:47pm and he responded at 6:49pm and said he would be out the next morning at 7am. WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Of course, its the day before Thanksgiving and I am doing all the cooking and hosting.

At 7am or perhaps before Mike rang the door. He promptly fixed the clogged sink and I didn't miss anytime in preparing food for the big day, tomorrow.

Mike is great, efficient and reasonable!

Michael, the owner, is FANTASTIC! I needed an outside hose bib replaced. We made an appointment and established a basic price. I emailed him that since he was going to be here anyway I might also have him replace the other hose bib since it was the same age as the problem hose bib. The price of doing the two was a bit more than my budget - thanks to the Obamaconomy - could handle so I emailed him we would only be doing the one. The day of the appointment he texted me to say he was on his way. When he got here he looked at the hose bib and went to Home Depot to get the correct parts to fix the problem bib. When he returned from Home Depot he came with the parts to fix BOTH hose bibs and only charged me for the parts on the second hose bib even though he fixed both of them. He went the extra mile and I appreciate that.

Thank you, Yelp!

I needed a handyman to do some work at my new house (install doggie door, hang a high bookshelf, connect my gas dryer, etc.)
I did a search here and found Mike at Copper State.

He responded quickly to my initial email, we set up an appointment and he was a few minutes early! (I've learned to expect appointments to run late in this town.) He is very personable, INCREDIBLY knowledgeable, and I felt confident I could trust him with my home.

I've already started compiling the list of other projects I plan to hire Copper State for, and was very comfortable passing along his name and contact information to a friend who put out the call asking if anyone knew a trustworthy, honest handyman.
Will continue to highly recommend Mike for any home related project!

When I had made the initial call for a fix to my exterior sensor floodlight, Mike swung by within 10 minutes to take a look and provide an ETA for the fix. I awoke the next morning a to a ring at my doorbell announcing he was done. All I had to do was show him the location and he took care of the rest. Awesome.

This man deserves all five stars. He showed up on time and completed the job of hanging a VERY heavy kitchen cabinet. He paid so much attention to detail and took the extra time to cut screws to just the right length and make sure over piece of trim was just perfect. He explained everything he was doing to me and why. His prices are very reasonable and I can't stop looking at my cabinet that is back where it belongs. Thanks Mike! Oh and he was clean and had all the tools you could imagine and this job took alot of various tools. And I didn't have the right screws and thankfully he had them. This review is long over due but I wanted to make sure I got this in because Mike is probably one of the best Handymen I've ever used. A move from Phoenix to Seattle had us scrambling to fix up the house for sale and we needed all sorts of work done - we had quite a bit of dry wall that needed repair and also needed a corner of our kitchen cabinetry retouched. After seeing the reviews here on Yelp, I called Mike at Copper State Home Maintenance and he was out the next day for an estimate.

Now, the estimate was beyond reasonable and Mike even picked up the supplies needed and just charged me for those at his cost. He did all the repair work very quickly and everything looked AMAZING. I mean - there was no way to tell there was a smallish hole in one of the walls originally. I looked and looked to see if I could even see a seam. The paint was matched perfectly and everything was so professionally done - I was one happy camper.

I'm really picky about how things look and Mike is a perfectionist. His prices are great and if you need anyone to do anything in your home in the Phoenix area, call Mike. it will be the best call you ever made...

In summary, Mike did some nice work for a very inexpensive rate for me. I needed a few plumbing, electrical, and misc household items taken care of. He showed up to do the walk-through of the items needing attention exactly on time and showed up at the scheduled time to do the work itself, actually finishing a bit early and charging less than what he originally estimated.

I would normally take away a star on my rating because he was difficult to get a hold of at first. It took an e-mail through the website and two voice mails before getting a response. Mike gets the star back because he went above and beyond during both the walk-through and while doing the repairs. When he came to provide the estimate, he indicated that one of the electrical issues was very minor and he spent two minutes fixing it right there for free. He also pointed out how about three other things on my list were things I could probably do on my own and gave me a few tips on them (he was right...I'm not very handy but he pointed me in a direction that enabled me to get them done myself). When he was onsite doing the work, he commented that my front door kept sticking, basically said let me take care of that real quick, and did so in about two minutes.

I'll definitely be calling him back for any future household repairs.

Just moved into a new place and needed a dog door installed. After waiting weeks for the landlord's service crew to get right on that, I finally gave up on them and called Mike at Copper State. Not only was he able to fit the job in on the SAME day, he took a few extra minutes out of his way to fix some faulty blinds too! Couldn't be happier with his work or service. I'm surprised that anyone would have a bad review for Copper State. We've had Mike come and do several projects at hour house, from replacing toilets, to installing ceiling fans, moving around chandeliers and other lights, hanging shelves... I could go on and on. He's always been respectful, responsive and on time.

I've had family member meet him at my house when I couldn't get there to meet him in time and have even left him in our home to finish a job and he locked up for us and is always understanding and patient about our two very big and curious dogs who follow him around the house while he's working.

We always have an ongoing list of projects for Mike to take care of and have him come by every few months to cross a few off the list. I've recommended him to many people and will continue to.

Mike was everything I was looking for in a handyman. He arrived on time and was courteous. I gave him my list of projects and he knocked them out in just a couple hours. I wouldn't hesitate to call him in the future and would definitely refer him to friends.

Mike is absolutely terrific to work with. He does anything you need, large or small, and not only does a quality job, but does it with a great attitude, and makes sure that your needs are met. It is refreshing to get such great customer service. I would highly, highly recommend him.

I had Mike over to do a few things for me and he did a great job. He is fast and on-time. Plus, his clock seems to run slower than mine does so he charges less than I expected. Finally, he is just a good guy and taught me how to do a few things so I could handle them next time. Will definitely call again.

Stop wasting your time and just call Mike. I tried 6 other guys to simply put in a mailbox, and no one responded. I emailed Mike on Saturday night, thinking he would see it Monday morning, and in a half hour he responded, and 2 days later he was out and did the job. He was polite and professional, made 2 trips to get cement, made sure everything was perfect, and his charge was more than reasonable. I have not had this level of service and professionalism in 20 years. We plan more projects in the future, and I will not waste any time calling anyone else - and you should do the same, you will not be disappointed. Top notch, all the way.

Had the owner Michael help me on two projects at my house, the price was fair and the service was quick with no issues. I asked for estimates of future projects while I had him there, but a few of them he gave me helpful tints on to do myself. I look forward to using his services again in the future and would recommend him to anyone.

You can't go wrong with Mike; he's an amazing handyman. He can do almost anything that you'd expect from a handyman. He is courteous and professional. He tells you what he can do and what he can't do and sticks to his estimate. He's an absolute gem that I and my daughter will use over and over again!!!!! I'm so glad that I found him!

I had Mike install new doors in an investment house. I am an Architect and expect a certain level of quality. Mike did an amazing job and went above and beyond my expectations. Called him back out a second time to replace and sliding glass door and once again it was installed in a timely manner and looks / works great.
I would highly recommend Mike to anyone. Top notch service at a reasonable cost!

Mike is the man! He's done a few jobs at my house, from painting, dry walling, hanging ceiling fans, and install baseboards and I have been pleased with it all. He's professional and does a remarkable job with all his work. He's my go to guy for all my house needs now. I don't know if there are any reasonably honest people like him in the business. He's super friendly and makes sure that my requests are completed before he leaves. I'm extremely happy with finding a maintenance repair company that it trustworthy and priced well. Yay for Mike!

Mike was unknown to me before he did work on my parents home, getting it ready to sell. He showed up on time, kept in touch by phone and got all the work done and did it well. I would give Mike 10 stars if yelp would let me. I am grateful to have found him, by searching reviews. I have used him repeatedly, for a myriad of repairs and improvements - from lighting/electrical to plumbing and plumbing fixture installation to small oddities such as garage door seal replacement and other tweaks. He is reliable, on time, incredibly competent and professional and extremely reasonable. He also just happens to be a wonderful person and nice guy to spend time with and have in your home. If he doesn't do a particular job, he has no trouble saying so. He never tries to extend a repair, up-charge you on labor or materials and there is never a question about what falls into his realm of work. If he doesn't do something, he will tell you willingly, though he seems to be able to do almost anything. I have worked with a myriad of contractors, repair people and home service personnel in my life time. Mike is right up at the top of people I appreciate and look forward to seeing and using, again. I'd want to keep him to myself but he already has a loyal following. It's earned. The only thing you might need to know is that his work load is consistent, due to his great service and pricing. He's worth waiting for, if you have a project that calls for him. And he diligently aims to get to you as fast as possible. Mike is truly a great man to have around.

Mike is the man! I dont write very many, if any, reviews but feel this one is definitely warranted. My wife and I were looking for a handyman to help us install some ceiling fans, light fixtures, and help with some other small things around our new house. We reached out to numerous companies and pretty much all of them couldnt come out for a couple weeks or were charging ridiculous prices. I sent an email to Mike and based on prior experiences with handymen, was expecting a response the next day or 2. Mike got back to me in 10 minutes and told me he could come by my place in 30 min. Not only did he charge a very fair and reasonable price, he did an amazing job. We had a weird wiring issue for one of our ceiling fans which the previous handyman we got had no clue how to resolve (we paid that guy double what mike charged for basically doing nothing). Mike got that fan up and running and it works great now. Ive already recommended him to my family members who need help around the house and if i need any further help around the house, i will definitely be calling him back.
