Walt's Plumbing

This is a five star plumber in all respects. He promptly responded to my phone call, gave same day service and when confronted with a difficult faucet issue, he resolved it.  He was extremely courteous, thorough and got the job done perfectly for us. He does circles around other plumbers I have used and he will be the go to guy when I have future plumbing issues. And, he was very reasonable about his price. Thank you Walt!  Steve W

Everything said here about interesting personality traits is true.  But, if you've ever paid over $1.100 to have a dishwasher installed with no explanation then you learn to appreciate an honest plumber.  Walt is that and more.  He's got a boneyard from whence have come parts at little to no charge.  He's got the experience that enables him to maximize his time and that, combined with a very reasonable hourly rate makes him a bargain.

We have used Walt a number of times in the last 20 years.  We put up with all his un-solicited political opinions because he did good work and was fair.  This last time is the last time I will call him.  He unplugged our main drain for $100 which was ok.  I asked him to look at the bathroom sink drain.  He said it was ok but charged me $100 dollars for doing nothing other than running a little water down the drain.  This was a ripoff.

NOT RECOMMENDED: Beware of Walt's Plumbing : UNSAFE. The guy (Walt?) showed up at my door without being properly masked. When I asked him to cover his nose, he responded that he then would not be able to see. When I insisted, he basically just walked out the door and got verbally abusive.

It's important for both of us to ensure our mutual safety. I did my part; he didn't do his.

Affordable and honest work. This is a one man business and Walt charges the most fair out of every other plumbing companies that charges ridiculous minimums 100-250 without doing any work. Walt is old school but he gets the work done at the lowest cost. He helped cleared up a clogged sink pipe for me and replaced a cracked cap for less than $130. If you are not in rush and on budget, then Walt is your guy. If you need a scheduler and can afford to pay high dollars, then he is not your guy.

Walt's a real plumber and his prices are great.  He's not one to chit chat so it's better if you tell him what you want and then get out of his way.
I have had him do several jobs for me and he's always done solid work.  Shows up on time and the cost matches the quote.

This is a less than mediocre plumber named Walt who is behaves badly. He is very difficult to communicate with and will readily insult you especially if you are a woman. There are plenty of good plumbers around here. No reason to resort to this guy. People should be more honest about the way he really is. Horrible.

Walt came out and fixed the clog in our sink ina  jiffy and put back the pipes I took off and replaced one of the at cost.
He's pretty busy but if you can get him to come out, you will save money.

Both kitchen and bathroom bathtub blocked. Tried all sorts of means myself and even rented the power drain cleaner from Home Depot. But the block is too deep. Walt came on time, quickly fixed the issue. Very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

He's an incredibly skilled, honest, reliable plumber. Sure, he's his own person. He's old school. A bit hard to understand at times. His scheduling is unconventional. Overlook those small thing because you've got a pro's pro.

I had various people install all-new countertops, sinks, faucets, etc. in my kids bathroom. Unfortunately no one saw that the old location of water valves and drains obstructed the pop-up drain rods in one of the faucets.  They suggested that I move the plumbing at significant expense.
Walt's Plumbing was recommended by the Keller Supply warehouse in Redmond.  Mr Walt Gillespie simply used a set of pliers and a hacksaw to cut down parts of the stainless assembly until it all fit.  
He's a very nice, soft-spoken guy.  Thank you for saving me time and $$ with a non-invasive solution to my plumbing problem.

I found Walt through Next Door from neighborhood referrals. I needed to get the master bath toilet wax seal fixed after seeing a leak in the front of the toilet. I planned to initially try to fix it myself, which was on Saturday, but the bolts holding the toilet down were rusted and I didn't have the right tools so I decided to call Walt. He answered his phone that same day and said he'll call me back during the week when he would be available to see where I was at. Walt is certainly a very interesting character, but he's professional and really knows what he's doing. After multiple back and forth calls during the week until Friday morning, I couldn't get a firm timeframe from him so felt like looking for another plumber. After calling a couple different plumbers who had no appointments until 2-3 weeks out, I got a call back from Walt and he was able to come over just before noon. After less than an hour and a half, he got it fixed and at a very reasonable cost. I would definitely call Walt again if I have any plumbing issues in the future. He's not like a typical business and is very old school so you'll need to be prepared for that. If you initially go through a similar experience as mine, be patient as he will call you back when he has a moment as he's very busy on jobs.

Whenever I need drain cleaning I call Walt. I am glad to say I have recommended him often with good results. He knows what he is doing.  Thanks Walt for being who you are.

Thought I only needed to replace a faucet cartridge in my bathroom sink but after doing so it still leaked.  Called Walt's Plumbing and Walt came out shortly after the call. Walt is somewhat quiet but he is very professional and his work is EXCELLENT!!  I also did not have to take out a second mortgage on my house to pay the bill which was spot on for the time spent and work done. Can't comment on their service, might be great, but definitively not interested in small jobs. Just called them to install a new Sink with fixtures etc in the laundry room, but was given the 'we are too busy with large remodels' :(

I hired Walt for another job, and again, was more than impressed with his work. I had Roto Rooters come by and quote me a price, which seemed excessive. I was right - Walt did the job in half and hour and charged less than a fifth (!!!) of what Roto Rooters quoted me. I'm so happy I found an honest reliable plumber who does an amazing job. Can't imagine hiring anyone else in the future!

Walt is the best plumber. He comes out as soon as he can and he gets to work quickly. He is fast and figuring out the issue. He's a little gruff but you have to get past that. He is extremely reasonably priced, honest and just wants to do the work. What more can you ask for?

Walt has been our neighborhood plumber for the past 18 years. Aside from his demeanor, he is qualified and has done reliable, honest work from the usual clogs of sinks/toilets and faucet hardware replacement, to installations of disposal, sink and toilets. Yet, I was very disappointed how he scolded and insulted me on the last visit. Maybe I missed that verbal treatment these past years because of his mumblings...4 Stars for his work; 0 Stars for customer interface!

I called Walt as he was highly recommended in my neighborhood Nextdoor app. He came in short notice and mitigated my insta-hot water leak quickly and at a very reasonable rate.  He recommended removing an unnecessary water filter. He also informed me that to fully remediate the situation and replace the fixture will require several hours and drilling a bigger hole in the granite countertop to accommodate the fixture size.  Since the existing fixture has plastic pipes at some point they will be brittle and will probably leak and recommends doing that work when the time comes.  I will not hesitate to call him for any future plumbing needs.  Other folks have posted that he is gruff - that is true but he is knowledgeable, informative and helpful all of which more than make up for gruffness.

Walt was out here on short notice, snaked my sink drain and got rid of the clog. All at a very reasonable price. I would call him back in a minute for my plumbing needs!

Walt came out same day to snake a sewer line. He also fixed two exterior hose bibs and a faulty toilet valve. He is different from most, but very well priced, nice, professional, and on time. I will be hiring him again to repair the sewer line.

I called to see if they move toilets 1 to 2 feet on the second floor with wood paneling below to my shock he responded back with anger and said We are too busy and don't have time to do anything for you He was rude and mean. I called back to verify they were Walt's plumbing and he got angry and started yelling telling me they couldn't do any work and didn't have time for a toilet.

I have used Walt two separate times at my home in Bellevue. His prices are fair and he does quality work.

Walt was prompt, courteous, professional, clean and patient.  He put up with our 3 screaming interfering kids and worked quickly and thoroughly to fix our problem.  
I will keep his number and hire again if needed.

Walt fit my constantly-running toilet into his nearly-full schedule the same morning I called, giving me about 20 minutes notice when he found time. I described my problem and my toilet, and he brought all the parts he might need to complete the job. The water level looked borderline too high to me the first time, so he took the fill valve apart again, adjusted it, and reassembled it, grumbling as he did so. His price was just what I expected. I would call him again, and recommend him to others.

Walt is gruff but don't be put off.  His work ethic is exemplary and honest.  I was very pleased with his pricing.  He fixed the clogged pipe and even checked the other pipes in my bathroom just to make sure.  Cleaned up after himself.  I can only say good things about his work.  He's been out many times to my 1950's house (with many many problems) as well as my parent's house.  Only takes cash or checks is the only downfall (I like my mileage)

Ok he might seem a little Grumpy but he grows on you!  I have used him several times, his prices are worth the effort.  I have referred him to several people.  He was referred to me by a friend as well.  An honest plumber, well priced.

On time, did the job right, reasonably priced. Yes, Walt has a military style, but overall pleased and look forward to being able to use his service again.
