Service King

This review is long overdue.  These guys are AMAZING!  After having many bad experiences with other contractors and handyman companies, Ed and his son, have been my saving grace.  I have used Service King numerous times for various repairs and service calls on my rental properties.  They have always been on time, their work is great, and there prices are even better.  To put it simply, they get the job done and they do it right- the first time! They always have solid solutions for any issues that arise and answer any questions I may have!  I have full faith and trust in these guys!  Thank you for always going above and beyond!  You make my life so much easier!

Ed is great to work with and performs excellent work.  I have had 3 other companies look at my leaking roof issues and Service King finally solved the problem correctly.  I've also had them do various handy work around my house, lock changes, etc.  They are honest and affordable and trustworthy working within my budgets.  I've also seen their indoor remodels first hand  ---very detail oriented and never cutting corners which is such a relief.  Can do all aspects of a remodel, interiors and exteriors.  I also appreciate his ability to problem-solve and be creative - offering suggestions for me. I Highly recommend Ed and Service King!

I also called Service King based on mostly good Yelp reviews.

Ed called me back the same day and we scheduled an appointment a few days out.

Ed never showed up and called me at the end of the day about how his van broke down. He said it's at the shop and that he would call me the following day after he picked it up.

Two passed until Ed contacted me again, telling me the van is still at the shop but that he would come later that day.

Again he didn't show up or contact me.

A day or so later he texted me telling me he would be there the following day.

At this point, I hired another company who came out 2 days later and finished everything.

Advice for Ed - if you're too busy, don't waste people's time booking jobs you can't come through on. Very unprofessional. Also, the sporadic communication indicates that the van breaking down was an excuse for poor time management.  If you can't make it to a job, let the customer know BEFORE the appointment, not days later.

Big mistake!

Ed from Service King said that he will give me a call a day or two before he is ready to come out to complete few tasks around the house.

About a week after our initial phone conversation, Ed texted me to set up an APPT date & time.
But, Ed didn't show up for our APPT.
So, I texted him.
He said that his previous client just came back from HOME DEPOT with 10 blinds, so he can't make it.
I told him that I have to leave my house to run errands, so will touch base later.
I texted him in the evening, but he didn't respond to my text message.
The next day, I even called him, but he didn't return my phone call.

NOW, I WONDER IF THERE EVER WAS A PREVIOUS CLIENT ON OUR APPT DATE.

If Ed didn't want my business, he should have just let me know ASAP.
All Ed did was waste my precious time.
Now, I am back to square one in search for a handyman ;(

Ed's done a great job for us every time I've called him.  Service was fast, reliably, honest, friendly, and a great value.  Ed and his crew are good people - you can tell.

These guys take care of your property not just a handyman. They get to know about you house, what type of flooring you have, Sheetrock that need repair,etc. their prices are great too!

Ed went above and beyond with our basement remodel.  We ran into many hiccups and he came through with solutions after solutions even when our other contractors left us hanging.  We couldn't have finished our project without Ed and his team.  Their craftsmanship and customer service were top notch.  We couldn't have asked more from a general contractor.  We will definitely give him a call for our next project.
