NW Solar was recommended to us by Tesla for the installation of our wall charger. Initially, it was okay as they respond quickly to our inquiries. We sent in photos and measurements and was given an estimate, afterwards, they scheduled a technician to come out. Jeff was the one that came in. It was bad experience and he was difficult to deal with. First, he kept insisting we got a good deal for the estimate we received as if it was up to him we would be charged $300-400 more. Second, he was insisting we don't install and return the wall charger, and just install the dryer outlet for the same price we were quoted for. He barely did anything during the visit and only stayed for about 15mins. Later that day, we received a phone call from him and was asking us to sell his customer our 14-50 adapter because Tesla ran out of stock. We said no and felt like he was out of line to ask us this. We still opted to sign the contract later that day since Jeff had already come out to check everything. During the installation day, a different technician came in, which was Nick. He was very nice and understand that he was just doing his work. He told us that he will require more materials since it's more than 15ft like what was stated in the job. He then called Jeff to inform him of the situation. He also informed us that he would need to come back next week since he doesn't have enough materials and need another person to come in. However, Jeff now wants more money than what was stated in the contract. We agreed as we understand because of the additional materials and man power. Next week comes, and Nick was the only one that came in. He was able to finish the job by himself. Good for him! But after the job was completed, we were still billed for this additional materials and man power, which obviously no additional man power occurred. We called Jeff regarding this and he insists that the price is right even if we agreed that the additional cost was to cover material and another technician. He told us that he said from the very beginning that it would be more, but his words were if it was up to me I would have charged you more, nothing that says you need to pay more. They should've changed what was in the contract if that was the case. He also insists we lied during the whole inquiry phase. First of all, we didn't lie. We don't do this for a living to know how exactly it needs to be installed to measure it properly. Second, he came out to our place. Why the hell did he not do the measurements himself, so from the very beginning before even signing the contract, we could've already fixed the issue. He is lazy and all he did was walk around the house and go through our Tesla merch and sell it to other customer. Third, the agreed additional cost was to cover materials and additional tech, since no additional tech came out, why are we still paying for this. It's not like Nick would be paid twice for the supposed 2 person job he did by himself.
All in all, bad experience and would not recommend. I'll be complaining to Tesla as well, and hopefully they get removed from their approved installer list. The only good experience was Nick, and I hope he's not getting mistreated by this company.
