I was looking for someone to install Tesla wall charger and cane to know about them through Tesla. They were very responsive and provided the quote online, by looking at the photos of my breaker.
They scheduled the visit promptly and did the work perfectly. Ari did a good job. He also cleaned up the work area afterwards.
Cost of service seemed little bit more, but I haven't received any quote much lower than this, and none were providing quote online.
Overall, I recommend their service.

City inspection is pending. I hope it will pass. If not, I will update here

I contacted quite a few places online to install the Tesla Wall Connector (using the list recommended by Tesla). They responded to my inquiry in 2 hours on a Sunday and gave the best prices while others took days to respond.  The electrician Jake was very nice and patient.  I observed him the whole time and he answered many questions about the charger and the panel and even general questions about electric work.  It took him about an hour and he set everything up for me.  2 other places I contacted somehow asked me for the picture of the main panel because they thought my panel was a sub-panel. I had to research online and told them it was a split-bus panel and pointed out to them where the main switch was.  Another place quoted me with 50A breaker instead of 60A because they didn't have it in stock. Anyway, Northwest Electric & Solar didn't have any questions for me and everything was easy and smooth. No sales tax in WA for installing an EV charger right now and they didn't need me to sign any form for this.  Our friends used them for the solar panel and recommended them to us.  I definitely recommend NW Electric and Solar for your EV charter installation!

Update 5/9 - just to clarify since one of the business owners replied. The work wasn't in April, it was started in the past by Northwest Electric and Solar and then the electricians that were sent couldn't handle the work. I just had the time to write a review after dealing with the work they caused.

Three different people came through who did a very poor job across the board and put according to a new electrician. I also want to add that NW Electric and Solar didn't catch that several switches and lights/fans were incompatible so we have to replace several hundred dollars worth of items, not to mention the drywall fixes that will come from it.

Super upsetting and a lot of wasted money.

Northwest solar and electric were the local team that installed my Tesla solar panels and powerwall.  They were simply fantastic.  The made sure to communicate to me clearly what was needed, how things would proceed, how any hurdles we would run into would get resolved.  And we ran into hurdles, (nothing to do with them or their team), and they were communicated,  prioritized, and addressed with professionalism.  Their teams that worked on my house were skilled craftsman and electricians always made sure the work exceeded expectations and I was happy with what they had done.  Seriously it was a pleasure working with them.  Don't hesitate to choose them for any project you have.  It's really hard to find this level of skill in residential services around Puget Sound at the moment

Northwest Solar was one of four bidders I originally contacted.  All were quite professional, but I really liked the balanced approach to how many panels to use and where to install them.  The installation was excellent...the Labor and Industries inspector called it one of the finest installations he had ever inspected. The installation team was friendly and helpful.  Bravo!

I'm on a HOA board for a 129 unit apartment building in downtown Seattle. We've been struggling to get EV chargers for our assigned spaces for a few years now. Finally we discovered that DCC-9 energy management systems are the ideal solution for our building. DCC9 allows the HOA to stay out of any matters relating to billing and the cost of electricity is applied directly to the residents SCL bill.

Our plan was to hire a contractor to drill the necessary concrete holes and install conduit between our electrical room and garages, and then allow individual unit owners to install a DCC-9+EV charger in their charging space

I reached out to NWES and they sent Jeff to our building. Jeff was quickly able to asses the feasibility of our plan, and sent me a quote within less than 24 hours of his visit. Unlike other companies, NWES didn't try and upsell, but rather just focused on giving us exactly what we wanted.

The install happened around 6 weeks after we signed. They handled all the permitting, concrete drilling, and installed an EV charger that we provided at a reasonable price. The workmanship was A+

I'd gladly recommend NWES for a stress free EV install.

The road to solar started in January for me, spending many hours reading up on the different panels available on the market and getting proposals from five local solar companies. Ultimately, I ended up going with NW Solar and Electric because they were quick and efficient on top of being super responsive to my questions and needs. I worked with Dane at the start and Carlo took over as project manager. After the contract was signed, they were able to fit me into their installation schedule within days. Everything went off without a hitch and we passed inspection with flying colors. I can't be any more pleased. The panels look great and are working as expected!

Just had our Tesla solar panels and Powerwall inspected; the inspector was very, very impressed with the quality of work. I told him about Jason L. (team lead on our project) and his care/attention to detail every step of the way.

NW Electric & Solar's team arrived to the minute daily. They really moved as they attacked the project and progressed steadily, even to the untrained eye. They always had time to answer questions or explain things as they proceeded. I wish all local contractors had their level of skill and attention. Daily cleanup was so fastidious that they left no evidence of being on-site. VERY IMPRESSIVE COMPANY!!!

Micah from Northwest Electric installed an EV charger for my house in Kirkland and did an awesome job - he completed the work quickly and it passed inspection easily. Communication with the company was good. I prefer using emails over phone calls and they were great about replying to my questions quickly. Highly recommended.

Parker and Jeremy do top notch work, best electricians I've had the pleasure of watching work. Absolutely beautiful wiring work for a main panel. Few will notice or see, but you can't not appreciate how meticulous it is and how much attention went into it.

The owner, Jeff, is amazing!  He took my phone call while he was off site, in the middle of a job, and he offered to help me with a technical issue when I was ready...

As it happened, I wasn't finally ready until Saturday came around, so I reached out to him, not expecting follow up from him until Monday.

Instead, not only did Jeff follow up with me within minutes on a Saturday, but he followed up again after that to be sure I had ordered the correct electrical adapter from Tesla so I would be good to go and ready to start charging when our Tesla arrives.

Thank you, Jeff! You rock, sir.

We had a EV charger installed in our garage. The interaction with Northwest Electric and Solar was great from start to finish. They came out the next day to install, and were done within a few hours. Their price was far better than other quotes I received, and their quality of work was even better.

Northwest Electric and Solar was referred to me by a trusted friend who knew one of the owners from high school back in the day. I would say cost wise the price was premium (I was a little shocked at the hourly) but they clearly know what they are doing and you aren't getting an electrician that cuts corners. Not only can they do very advanced stuff, but Josh who came to my house I actually spoke with quite a bit as he was doing his work and can tell he is a knowledgeable electrician who has been doing this a while and understands I didn't want shortcuts done. Was pleased with their work and will look at them for other electrical things I want done.

Highly recommend this company for your solar needs!  The initial call was great with no pressure to purchase.  An initial quote is provided by using Google images of your house and your electric bill from the kWh usage.  They outline the system and panel options you have in an easy to read format.  From there the project manager comes out (wearing a mask) to walk through specifics of the project and he answered my questions.  They also take drone photos of your home to ensure the system geometry is accurate.  We scheduled a day for the install and the team came out and knocked it out in 8 hours! They were all friendly, wearing masks and cleaned up after themselves.  It looks great and we are excited to minimize our carbon footprint!

In response to the comment--in addition to investigating the burning smell we asked for a quote to install bathroom fans.  Never heard a response and my husband was following up before seeing the charge for this visit.

Similar to not knowing what the charge was for the visit (until we noticed it on our credit card statement a week ago) we never did get the quote.

Needless to say not interested in contacting this place again.

NW Solar was recommended to us by Tesla for the installation of our wall charger. Initially, it was okay as they respond quickly to our inquiries. We sent in photos and measurements and was given an estimate, afterwards, they scheduled a technician to come out. Jeff was the one that came in. It was bad experience and he was difficult to deal with. First, he kept insisting we got a good deal for the estimate we received as if it was up to him we would be charged $300-400 more. Second, he was insisting we don't install and return the wall charger, and just install the dryer outlet for the same price we were quoted for. He barely did anything during the visit and only stayed for about 15mins. Later that day, we received a phone call from him and was asking us to sell his customer our 14-50 adapter because Tesla ran out of stock. We said no and felt like he was out of line to ask us this. We still opted to sign the contract later that day since Jeff had already come out to check everything. During the installation day, a different technician came in, which was Nick. He was very nice and understand that he was just doing his work. He told us that he will require more materials since it's more than 15ft like what was stated in the job. He then called Jeff to inform him of the situation. He also informed us that he would need to come back next week since he doesn't have enough materials and need another person to come in. However, Jeff now wants more money than what was stated in the contract. We agreed as we understand because of the additional materials and man power. Next week comes, and Nick was the only one that came in. He was able to finish the job by himself. Good for him! But after the job was completed, we were still billed for this additional materials and man power, which obviously no additional man power occurred. We called Jeff regarding this and he insists that the price is right even if we agreed that the additional cost was to cover material and another technician. He told us that he said from the very beginning that it would be more, but his words were if it was up to me I would have charged you more, nothing that says you need to pay more. They should've changed what was in the contract if that was the case. He also insists we lied during the whole inquiry phase. First of all, we didn't lie. We don't do this for a living to know how exactly it needs to be installed to measure it properly. Second, he came out to our place. Why the hell did he not do the measurements himself, so from the very beginning before even signing the contract, we could've already fixed the issue. He is lazy and all he did was walk around the house and go through our Tesla merch and sell it to other customer. Third, the agreed additional cost was to cover materials and additional tech, since no additional tech came out, why are we still paying for this. It's not like Nick would be paid twice for the supposed 2 person job he did by himself.

All in all, bad experience and would not recommend. I'll be complaining to Tesla as well, and hopefully they get removed from their approved installer list. The only good experience was Nick, and I hope he's not getting mistreated by this company.

Northwest Electric and Solar responded quickly to my inquiry regarding a Tesla wall charger installation. The communication with their office staff from the start to the finish, including the online estimate answered every question that I had. The electrician showed up on time and did an outstanding job! I am pleased with the results and would recommend these guys to anyone that needs to have a Tesla wall charger installed.

I highly recommend NW Electric and Solar for a residential solar install. We got our solar panels installed a year ago and these folk were great to work with.

We had 6 different companies give us bids. Only NWES and Artisan sent actual techs who got measurements from the roof so they could give a reasonable estimate on what kind of solar production we could expect. Everyone else just sent salesmen.

We worked with Bret throughout the process of getting a bid and he was great. Very knowledgeable and willing to answer all my questions. He never once tried to up-sell me, and in the end we were very happy with the bid. We liked the price and felt confident we were getting the right system for our needs.

The actual install went very well and when SCL repeatedly failed to show up to put in our new meter Bret went to bat for us and got them to get their ass in gear.

A year in we couldn't be happier.

I recently purchased a home in Bellevue and the inspection suggested we replace our outside meter, and move and upgrade the panel. Due to those issues I contacted NW solar to come out and give a bid to possibly rewire the house or at the very least fix the noted issues.

I had previously used NW solar with my old home and was happy with the work so they were the first electrician I called.

I don't recall the gentleman that came out for the bid but the entire interaction was odd. First he was sort of taking shots at the state of the house and the obvious remodel that needed to be done. Secondly he seemed really disinterested in the work and didn't really offer any solutions on what could be done other then saying the entire house needed to be gutted or saying they couldn't do anything. The oddest thing was at the end where the guy just sort of walked off and seemed really perplexed at the idea of getting me an estimate.

Needless to say I never heard back and didn't get an estimate. The entire ordeal was just odd. Since that time I've had 2 different electricians come out. Both were very professional, came up with solutions and ways to work around some of the challenges with the house, and got a proposal put together and emailed over in a timely manner. I don't think that's too much to ask. In other words the exact opposite of my experience with NW solar.

This review is not meant to slam NW solar. Like I said I have used them in the past and was happy with the work that was done. Perhaps I got this guy on a bad day, or they are too busy and they can pick and choose jobs.  Or maybe he was annoyed because my real estate agent couldn't get us in the house right away and we had to wait 20 mins. Who knows. The whole thing was just different I guess is a polite way of putting things.

Very solid team. I was able to describe the job (ev charger install) with a few pictures & an email. They make a bid & I gave a deposit over the phone. We set up an install time. They confirmed the day before- which was a Sunday. It was a tricky install- wiring through a hole in the concrete floor but they got the job done on schedule & budget. Nothing but goodness. Thanks James.

We recently had a 10 kW system installed on our house and these guys made it so easy. I got bids from 4 different companies, all were very professional and great to interact with. NW Electric and Solar was the 4th that I spoke with, and they were so responsive and great at explaining everything. I didn't really need the solar education by the time that I spoke to them, and they honored that by jumping straight to the point. I emailed a picture of my electrical panel, they came by and did a quick light read on our roof and sent me a proposal in the same day. They were more competitive than the other companies for the same system, and could fit us in earlier on their schedule.

When it came time for installation and electrical panel work, they were very flexible with me when we had to stay home with sick children and moved the install date out a couple of days. Every person on the team we interacted with was just awesome. We're already getting more bids from them for other electrical work because they just make everything so easy. I highly recommend NW Electric and Solar.

Northwest saved the day on my Tesla outlet install when another company (Seahurst Electric Inc) failed to show up on 2 different appointment times. I reached out to NW Electric and received a super fast response and they were able to complete the full install in a shorter time frame than the other Tesla recommended electrician. They were extremely professional and courteous through the whole process.

If you are installing a Tesla NEMA 14-50 outlet (or anything else for that matter), choose Northwest Electric, NOT Seahurst. You will not be disappointed!!

They just left my home in Kirkland to install a Tesla outlet!
From start to finish a great experience. They were one of many referred to me by Tesla and they were the only ones that responded to my calls and emails. Putting that aside their inside team answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. Their technicians arrived promptly and were courteous, respectful, clean and neat. I am super happy and look forward to referring them in the future!

Derek and Ian are the best! Great follow up, quick response. I work for a Mechanical Contractor in Seattle that is one of the largest on the west coast, so I know the industry very well. These guys know their stuff and are great! I contracted them to install a 9.9 KW solar system and could not be happier. They know more about Solar then some of the State of Washington Electrical inspectors do. Trust me, these people will do you right and will make you happy with the work they do. Great job! -Eric

I was recommended to NW Electric and Solar by Tesla to get the work done to install my wall charger.  Reached out via email to introduce and schedule an appointment, sent them a picture of where the setup would be and we set a date.

The electrician who came out showed up on time and was very professional.  He looked over my current electrical situation and took the time to explain my options, if I wanted to run the wiring behind the wall, etc.

Did a great job, cleaned up the area he worked in.  Would use them again for any future electrical needs.

This company had the worst response time ever! They were there for the first tear-up and pre-wiring, but did not have a large enough crew to respond to follow-up issues. They lost whole electrical runs and later I had to hire someone else to install new lines. They also over-charged me several times; I was always present, so I knew how long they were there on site. Two minutes became a 2-hour billing, and I was billed for days they were not even on site. Very shady and inept company.

NW Electric and Solar was recommended to us by Tesla to put in the outlet to charge the car. They did not come out to do an estimate, but had us measure and send pictures of our garage. We had the appointment for several weeks.  The appointment was a few days before we took delivery of the Tesla.  My husband took the day off work to be here for the electrician. No one showed up. My husband emailed them and they replied that they had a guy call in sick and forgot to let us know.
They wanted to reschedule, but after the delivery of the Tesla. We called Tesla and were quickly given another referral to Seahurst Electric and they came out right away. When we did not respond to the email from Northwest Electric and Solar saying they forgot about us, we
never heard form them again.

Terrific experience with Chris at Northwest Electric and Solar.  We had some small jobs around the house (rewiring a light switch that I messed up, installing some track lighting, and putting up a couple of new fixtures).  Schedule was easy, and I had someone out here within a week of calling.  Chris showed up 15 minutes early.  He too stock of what needed to be done and got to it quickly, quietly and cleanly.  He laid down a small tarp to catch any mess and meticulously vacuumed up after each job.  He was fast, quiet, efficient, and professional.  And the price was right.

They're our new go-to electricians.  We're very satisfied.

We recently built a new house and had Northwest Electric do the rough in and install our fixtures. Derek was extremely responsive and always provided a great customer service. His team helped us think through outlet and light locations. They made suggestions of things we didn't think of and were always happy to answer our questions and concerns. Since we have moved in, Derek has continued his amazing service and helped us make a few small tweaks to our lighting. One of my favorite things about Derek and his team (besides being polite/respectful) is that they always showed up when he said they would. If for some reason they were running late- they always called to give us a heads up. We don't recommend a lot of our subs- but Derek and his team will always be top of our list of referrals. Thanks Derek and Jeremy!

I contacted Derek after an earlier contractor sent a carpenter to do electrical work at my house (and failed). Derek came on day 1 just to take a look at the projects, but was able to handle one of them (proper installation of a bathroom fan) in just a couple of minutes, and made a plan with me for the second project to follow the next day. As he was leaving, he kindly told me about a special he was running on Living Social, which made the projects less than they would have been otherwise.

The following day, Steven arrived on time, and fixed the second project (re-installation of a bedroom ceiling fan) in less than an hour.

Derek and Steven are now on my go-to list for electrical help. Many thanks and much admiration for your professionalism, courtesy, timeliness, and good work getting the job done!

I found them through Angie's List but because my services was bundled as one transaction (I also asked that they install a transfer switch which I later had them remove and refund me) I could not post my bad experience on Angie's List.

Last October, we had them install a solar fan in the attic. They botched that job but we didn't know about it until the leak came into our spare bedroom which was in January. When I called them about it, they refused to come out and look at it until I could prove that it was their poor job and not our roof (our home was built in 2012). Because there was a recent storm, it took a few days to get roofers out there to take pictures and show that it was NW Electric and Solar's poor job that caused all the damage.

After much back and forth to get our contractors paid (I refused to use their contractors), I asked for reimbursement for the original cost of the installation of the attic fan; Derek first refused but then seemed to turn the corner and asked what would be a fair price after I pointed out all the trouble, time off we had to take, and the depreciation of our home value (we are legally obligated to disclose this damage) he said no deal because I refused to use his contractor.
Of course, I have all the emails and pictures but it wouldn't cut it on Angie's List since the contractors have to pay several thousand to be on Angie's List

All in all, this company will not stand behind their work on top of their poor customer service.

To be fair, after I complained about this to both Northwest and Tesla, Derek the owner made an effort to call me the next day and make things right. He sent an electrician out on Saturday (they don't usually work then) to finish the installation and also gave me a discount on the work. Overall, while the initial experience was not great, I was pleased with the response and the work done. So, upgrading to 3 stars.

I had a great experience with Jeff from NW Electric & Solar.  He came by and provided an estimate for our older house to get updated wiring.  In the process, he gave me advice on several of my concerns and put me to ease on my current electrical system in the meantime of the work getting done.  I loved that he didn't pressure me to make the updates all at once or right away.  He was very straight-forward about what needed to be done and what could wait.

Need an electrician?  You can stop looking.  These guys are great. We originally found Northwest Electric and Solar through referral of another contractor working on our home a few years back and we have used them multiple times since. Owner Derek and his team are extremely professional.  Our latest project (installing light fixtures in the kitchen) required drilling into the ceiling...think dust...but by the time Jeremy and his associate were done...you would never have guessed anything had been done. They were super respectful and careful in our home, leaving the space cleaner than when they started.  I also appreciated that Jeremy had specific recommendations about how high/low to install the fixtures for best overall look and function.  Highly recommend.

This was the second time I have used NW E&S for work on our very strange old house with very strange, old wiring.  Derek's crew came out, quickly removed the knob and tube in our basement, were incredibly polite and professional, and they even swept my gross basement before they left!  That could be the first time my basement has been swept in a year.

A week later they got a panicked phone call from me when the insulation company accidentally destroyed the wiring in my walls, Derek appeared at my door in under 15 minutes and replaced the wiring.  They have great customer service and attention to detail, and I will absolutely use them again.

Love these guys!

We had Northwest Electric and Solar come on recommendation from Angie's list. The first time one of the electricians came to replace our 30 year old bathroom fans. He came and installed them, and cleaned up after himself. He was courteous and professional. Today we had Chris and Steve come to replace our 30 year old electrical panel and replace our old outlets in the bathrooms and the patio with GFI outlets. They both were very courteous and professional. They spent a lot of time, made sure everything worked before they left. The price was very reasonable for the time they were here and for the work they did. I would hire them again for any electrical work.

I just had Derek and his team complete a job for me (installing can lights) and they were on time, did exactly what they said they would and came in under budget.

You should stop looking for another electrician because you just found a keeper!

After finding NW Electric & Solar on Yelp, I called Derek on a Saturday to ask about getting a new circuit put in my apartment. His phone message said he was out of the office through Monday, so I emailed, thinking I'd hear back in a couple days. He emailed back the same day, and we had an appointment scheduled - around some existing meetings - by Monday.

When the day of my appointment came, I was scheduled to have someone show up in the afternoon. Around 10am, the installer called and asked to show up early - he was ready to get started ASAP. Despite having a nonstandard breaker panel, he showed up, got the right parts, and had installed the new circuit - including two outlets - within two hours.

Derek and his team at Northwest Electric & Solar are as flexible, personable, and professional as they come. His rates are very fair, and his company works to make sure that you're entirely satisfied with the job they do. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat.

Northwest Electric is an 'A' Plus company when it comes to electrial needs.  I purchased a Model 3 and needed the charging plug I stalled. I was on the schedule for 6 1/2 weeks out.  My car came early, I called Jeramy to see if there was a way to possibility to get moved up at week earlier.  She said let me see what we can do. She was very pleasant and help on the phone. As a result, I got scheduled almost two+ weeks sooner which worked out to be only 2 days after my car delivery.  Then Nick my tech did a great job installing the outlet. I had it placed in a spot that required several conduit bends- it looks like it is part of the garage and not a plug stuck somewhere.  He was professional, timely and friendly.  Cleaned up after GE install leaving nothing to let you know an install took place. As well as left his cell in case I had any issues or post install concerns. Oh, I didn't because the job was done very well.  Highly recommend them for your electrical needs. Thanks Northwest Electrial!

I had Northwest Solar and Electric come out and install a 5.5 KW solar system on my home's roof. They did a great job explaining the system to me, and gave me several options for system sizes and possibilities. I picked one, and they were prompt with their install, and everything was done in a top notch manner.  All inspections were passed with flying colors.  I love my solar system, and would call them in a heartbeat to do more electrical work for me.

My wife and I purchased a new home in December and decided it was time for some electrical upgrades. I found Derek White on Angie's List and chose his Company, NW Electric because of the outstanding customer reviews he received overall.

I called Derek to set up an appointment and he was super flexible and able to come over after his normal business hours to give us a bid. When he arrived, he was professional, polite and very honest, offering us an affordable price for all of our electrical needs.

Derek's crew came out to our home to install the GFI electric outlets for our new washer and dryer. This was quite a project, working with little to no electric lines in the new laundry area, but it was not a problem for them. They were able to install everything quickly and without any issues.

While at our home, the technician suggested it would be a good idea to upgrade our panel to a 200amp service, as the current one was really full and unsafe. I thought about that and did some research, and he was right, we needed to upgrade. I called several other Companies to come out and give me a bid, but none of the Companies were as professional and honest as NW Electric. The other companies were either too high or too low in their price, so it was an easy choice choosing Derek's company to do the job.

The electrician came out and provided us with the best electric products on the market. He was thorough and confident and did a fantastic job. The electrician cleaned up after himself as well. The owner, Derek came out a couple days later just to make sure we were satisfied and look over the work his electrician had done and all was perfect. Our new circuit breaker panel is completely up to code and passed the City of Seattle's electric inspection with flying colors.

We Highly Recommend NW Electric and know you will be Happy with your choice if you choose them for your electrical needs!

No major complaints with the work done, but they messed up scheduling the inspection appointment and caused me a bunch of grief. They then messed up the scheduling/planning for a second job, so I cancelled that work and went with someone else.

NWE&S did all of the solar and line voltage work, including a large BU generator. The work spanned several months as the project was unconventional in many respects. Numerous members of their crew worked on the site and all were a pleasure to work with. I especially enjoyed working with Derek (owner), Bret (solar expert), John and Jeramy. They are knowledgeable and do great work. They were the best on the details for the solar (among all of the potential subs i interviewed) and having one sub do the solar and line voltage together was certainly less of a headache than trying to coordinate two. Great job and thanks, NWE&S.

Kevin and the guys at NW Electric were fantastic. Their prices were very fair and the work they did was excellent - both timely, well-informed, and esthetic. After installation, both Kevin and I didn't like the way one of the lights looked-- they replaced the light at no labor charge to me. I would definitely recommend this crew for any electrical needs you may have- commercial or residential.

I bought a deal on Angie's list. Big mistake! No one ever returned my calls. I emailed. Got a fast apologetic response. We set up appointment. They never showed. Now they will not reply to my emails or phone calls. Unbelievable!! The blatant disregard for a client that has already paid is shocking. Maybe they are great when they actually show up. I will never know. Big F and no customer service.
