This is my second time using Mr Rooter and I cant say enough about how great they are.   Same day service on a Saturday   Baldama came out and spent hours trying to unclog my overflowing sewer.   Clog too far down pipe he sent Josh to camera the sewer, Josh sent Tony on the same day to try snaking another pipe no success but Josh went onto plan B and Gavin came out Monday Morning to put a clean out in the old pipe. Josh came out after Gavin on Monday and used the camera again and found the clog.   Josh was through presenting options.  On Tuesday Brian's crew came out at 10 am was done at 2 pm dug through concrete 4 x 4 x 4 foot hole replaced the pipe removed the clog.  Everything taken care of in 4 days no waiting for service very efficient.  They don't nickel and dime you. They give you a price for the problem.and will send as many specialists until the problem is solved They don't charge by the hour.

I write with mixed feelings.  I had a leak on July 9 and Mr Rooter was available that day.  The first visit was a disaster.  The leak could not be recreated so the plumber cut 5 holes into my dry wall.  TWO were bone dry.   Which a water meter probably could have determined without cutting.  He recommended I hire a water remediator service who could help identify the issue.  Next day service comes out only to tell me they don't help with the issue but for $3000 they can remediate the site.  Next day Mr. Rooter sent two new plumbers, as i requested a scope/smoke test.  When they arrived they were unaware of why they were there and didn't have equipment to do a scope.  They left.    Next day Mr. Rooter sent a plumber to do the scope.   He concluded it might be the toilet in the guest bathroom upstairs and that i didn't need a scope.   Next day Mr. Rooter sent yet another plumber.  He quickly determined  it was a leak in the guest bathroom sink.   When he found it was so incredibly obvious and he did a couple tests to diagnose how the water got onto the floor.   He was able to repair several days later.  Now I'm left with multiple holes in the dry wall.   I am not a plumber and completely stumped why this was so hard to identify when it's so visible.    I'm quite happy with the last person onsite but frustrated over all with the fruitless visits and subsequent costs. The plumber who cut all the holes in my dry wall did not seem well trained.  After the last visit I had another water remediator (not recommended by Mr. Rooter) come out who determined the floor and ceilings were dry and that they didn't need to pull anything up.

Good scheduling system. Horrible pricing, no concept of marginal cost. First valve = $350, second = +$40, third = +$100, fourth = +$350.

Don't call these guys. They charged us $40 to come out and look at a plugged bathroom tub and then proceeded to tells us it would cost $450 to snake the drain. A waste of time and money.

Zach was fantastic. Our kitchen sink clogged up and was causing sludge to backup into the bathtub in our basement. Zach snaked the shit out of our crusty pipes and got everything flowing again. I also paid less than other quotes for the same work. I would 10/10 recommend Mr. Rooter and Zach to anyone brave enough to tell me they have a plumbing problem. Thank you!

Leaking faucet from our kitchen into the basement. Two guys came out (two-day wait time) and fixed the leak, replaced a plastic drain for $2300. Took about four hours so not too bad, price was pretty high though and we were caught off guard by the bill. We probably should have called other plumbers for estimates, lesson learned!

We have called Mr. Rooter three times the last fifteen months (dishwasher install, blocked drain and yesterday, a complete replacement of sewer drain pipes in the crawl space of our house). In all three cases we have been 100% satisfied. The technicians showed up when scheduled, were professional and friendly, gave us an estimate, fixed the problem in the scheduled time and on the estimate. We could not be happier with the service and results we've had working with Mr. Rooter.

On the most recent job - replacing all the crawl space sewer pipes - the two-tech crew showed up as scheduled, worked all day and rather than returning the next day to finish up, worked until 7 pm so the job was completely done in a day. The lead tech, PJ Arjomani, was professional and friendly, and kept us up-to-date on progress and schedule throughout the day.

I highly recommend Mr. Rooter. Our experience with this company has been nothing but great.

UPDATE - I did hear from them, a day after my post below. They are going to get in contact with Valley View Sewer, probably to confirm my information, then who knows what? I enjoy seeing updates so figured I'd post one of my own. I will continue to update as I can. -JMO

Terrible, just terrible service of NOT informing the customers to call their sewer service first! I own a house in SeaTac, had a backup and they came out right away, same day in fact.
Charged me $556.47 to run a cable line thru the toilet. Then they hit me with the sell, we have to dig up your line, install a clean out, installing a 'duel sweep clean' and 'hydro scrubbing the line to remove a 'sludge pack'.
$6,249.80 but I get a discount of -$506.47 for the previous attempt. Everything said and done I paid these crooks $6,903.05 for what turns out to be a maintenance problem for the sewer company. The clog was in the street so not their deal.
I call Valley View Sewer and guess what, these plumbers KNOW to tell customers in certain service areas to call their sewer company.
Had I done this, I would of paid NOTHING. They want you to call them first so they can determine where the issue is SO YOU DON'T GET RIPPED OFF.
Mr. Rooter STOLE FROM ME. I called yesterday, spoke with Tracy who said she'd have a manager call me back and nothing yet.

I will be posting on every Social Media platform about these crooks!

Bet I hear from someone now!

I called for a toilet repair which involved replacing the water fill valve which costs about $10 to buy. I told them what was wrong with the toilet when I called for service so they would be prepared to do the job When they showed up. The technician gave me some hocus locus explanation of the total charge which was $425 including tax ! I should have sent him packing without fixing it and called someone else but I needed to have it fixed and would probably have fixed it myself if I weren't physically challenged at this  point in time. Their advertising claims they want to be your plumber for life and charging  the outrageous thievery prices that they do, I can understand why . They are truly big time rip off artists and should  be run out of town on a rail...... disgusting and disgraceful Business practices and I will never use this outfit again.

We had a blocked landscape drain at our commercial property in Kirkland that caused some minor surface water flooding last winter.  Finally got around to searching for a outdoor plumber.  Chose Mr. Rooter for an estimate based on a few reviews and a walk through their website.  Sent in a request and was called back within the hour.

Got a fast schedule for an on-site estimate, and had a great meeting with David.  He listened well and inspected the offending drain and others it is  connected to.  He said we can do this, and Jim is the technician to do it with the Hydrojet drain clearing system.  Got a fair estimste and a schedule for weekend work when the parking lot would be clear.

Jim Yorba arrived within the scheduled window and got down to business.  He has a great attitude, focus on safety (masks, boots, eye protection), he  explained what to expect an got to work.  A couple of hours later these tools in the hands of this experienced pro got it all cleared out.  Cleaned up the site and thanked me for the business.  Very satisfied customer here.

Wow!! So impressed by Kyle and Manny and Mr. Rooter! I had a water heater leaking this morning and they arrived promptly and quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it in a record time.
Super professional and gave me pointers. If I have  issues in the future, I will definitely use Mr. Rooter again.  They even service the Eastside. Thank you.

Please be very careful when you choose this company.  I am having the worse experience with Mr. Rooter.
I needed immediate work on my clogged side sewer pipe on Dec.21,2019 while I was on vacation in Asia. I asked my tenant to contact Mr. Rooter.  Mr. Rooter recommended and did unnecessary repair work on my pipe.
They told me over the phone that the clog caused by a crushed or broken pipe so jetting would not work.  However,  photos taken by my taken by my tenant shows a perfectly intact pipe that did not need repair ( I found this out after returning to US). Mr. Rooter could have jetted the clogged pipe for around $1,000 but instead, they took advantage of my absence, and did the unnecessary work so they could charge me $8,453.  When I complained about this issue to the company, they ignored it.  In addition,  a few days after they repaired my pipe,  they recommended that i should get a new sewer pipe because my old pipe was very old and worn. They gave me a quote of $9,305.  I took their advice and paid a deposit so they can put me on the schedule and agreed to not start on the project until the day I return to US.
However,  when I returned on Jan, 9,  they already finished installing the new pipe.  I was a little upset but decided to give them the benefit of a doubt.   The worst is when i asked them to videoscope the pipe for me to inspect, the video showed the interior of the pipe was full of standing water.  When I complained about this problem to two company's managers,  they all told me that my new sewer line had passed city inspection and gave me all kind of explainations in misleading me into believe that their work is good.  After I repeatedly refused their work, they told me they can redig my yard and find a solution but can not guarantee the problem can be fixed.  Extremely frustrated,  I contacted the city to repuest a copy of the inspection report,  I was told by the city that Mr. Rooter did not get the city inspection on the new sewer line!
Mr. Rooter tried to sell me a new sewer line without city inspection.  The pass inspection report they e-mailed me is only for the repair portion of their work.  I have learned a hard lession by trusting this company,  please do not make the same mistake as i did.

Soon after I bought my home I realized I needed a complete sewer liner to resolve the multiple issues with the 1959 sewer line. A sewer scope showed a misalignment and heavy roots grown into the line in several places. Part of the line ran under the deck and a storage shed.
I called Mr. Rooter and received a reasonable quote. The project manager, Jimmy Jack stayed in contact with us throughout the process and helped us understand the work being done and took the time to show us the scope of the newly installed liner when the city inspector was present. I really appreciated Jimmy's commitment to our project.

I called them yesterday and the person in the office Kim said they would come out today between noon and 3 PM.  I waited and no one showed or called.  I called back at 4 PM and was told I was not in their system for an appointment at all.
The manager apologized but he is not the one that set up the appointment for me to sit here for 3 hours and no show no call.
I had a competitor do work for $1800 end of May.  I was looking for someone to help with this issue and be much cheaper.  I guess I will continue to look.

The team who handles incoming customers calls is not a  friendly group of people.  Their tone and language comes off as annoyed when a potential customer is just calling looking for help.  This has been my experience every time I've contacted them.  The first time I called was over a weekend and I was told not having a functioning toilet in a 1 bed/1 bath condo 'wasn't considered an emergency'.  They refused to provide weekend support and instead told me I could wait and they couls chedule something during the week.  This is all super unfortunate bc the employees actually showing up and doing the work have been phenomenal. So, if you don't mind being spoken down, treated like an idiot and you don't have a plumbing emergency sure give them a call.

This update comes little late but one of their staff called me like in 10min after I posted the previous review. He apologized and said that he will send a technician to take care of the mess. The same technician (who came last two times) came the next morning and cleaned the grease trap again for free. The job was done as great as last time. We had our plumber came in later to install the missing part. Till now the grease trap works fine.
I am always happy about the cleaning job they've done. It was just the customer service attitude that made me really upset.
The gentleman who followed up later to offer the free service as compensation was nice and sincere.

My side sewer backed up. They came and removed a tangle of roots then did a sewer scope to check the line. The staff on the phone arranged my appointment for service efficiently. My technicians Michael Barbosa and Karol Zepeda were both fantastic. They took the time to make sure my sewer line was properly cleared and then cleared a second clog from the backup into the bathroom. Thanks to Michael for also showing me how to easily clean a slow running sink drain.

Very frustrated with exceptionally poor customer service and communication.  Called Mr Rooter to handle an emergency of a frozen pipe preventing any water in the apartment, deciding we could wait the 48 hours to get a serviceman out.  But after waiting two days, I called during the arrival window only to find not only wasn't the serviceman coming that day - but he couldn't reschedule for another four days!!  I essentially had to contact them to find they wanted us to wait 6 days to get water restored!  It seems almost criminal that they could break their promise of a fix with no communication or help with alternate solution.  During multiple holds while I tried to contact them, I got the impression they were shifting me to multiple offices.  Sure enough, despite their cute old tyme logo, their service map shows Mr Rooter covers the entire US and parts of Canada.  So I guess when you're a national or international firm, you can treat people poorly?  Only local companies for me from now on...

This company came out the last week of March, gave us fantastic quote and set up a schedule to have our sewer replumbed by April 4th.  They didn't break ground until April 4th, and have shown up for approximately 2 hours a day, 3 days a week since then.  Today is May 4th and the project is still ongoing.  Every week it will be done next week.  They refuse to commit to anything, accidentally chopped into our water main and shut off water to the apartment building. They failed to secure the proper permits for the job as well and panicked when they found out another company reported them.  We just found out a week ago that the permit application was denied, but they still continue to show up randomly, a few hours at a time to apparently look at the hole they have dug. Maybe roll around in it a bit but the casual observer can not see anything getting done.  They always seem to be waiting on someone to bring them a part. On multiple occasions they have left the sidewalk completely cluttered, a 5 foot hole completely exposed and have piled dirt in front of 2 of the three exits to the building in complete indifference to fire code. On top of it all they ripped out our controls for our sprinkler system and now have spent weeks trying to get around to repairing it.  They refuse to let us call in the sprinkler company to repair it saying it's going to be fixed tomorrow.  Well tomorrow never comes and we have a full construction zone still.  They even had the gall to request full payment before the job was done! I have either been a project manager or property manager for over a decade and never have I ever had an experience like this. It must be good to be so busy you can hold a customer hostage.  I guess the thing that really gets me is the only explanation ever offered is that they are busy and they promise to get back to you, but never do! Well unless it is to give you worthless drivel about next week.  You have to hold thier feet to the fire just to find out when - maybe they might pop in again. They do not hold themselves accountable in any way and pretend like everything is fine.  The only people that show up here are the billing department and the estimators.  They will be the friendliest company to your face and promise you the moon until you sign thier work agreement and put 50% down. That's the last time they will care about you or your project.  Also they love to park in your neighbors driveway even after they are told repeatedly not to.  I'm just besides myself, beside this crater in front of our building.  Never again.

Edit: It's been a week and absolutely no one has reached out and tried to talk to us.  It appears Vinny S below is offering the same lip service as the rest of the company with zero follow through.

They responded to my request for a quote and appointment the same evening I called(Super Bowl Sunday!) I got good info and an appointment very quickly and calls through the day to let me know when my repairman would arrive. The assessment was quick and luckily our emergency did not prove to be as drastic as we had feared. They agreed to a fair rate which we sure appreciated. I am used to being fleeced when needing plumbing repairs-even if the work is good. They will go in my address book and will be the first call next time-which we all know is only a matter of time!

I had a really great experience with Mr. Rooter-- and I'll be honest, I was skeptical given that it's a chain and the average reviews.  However, they were quick to get a plumber out to bid work on the repair of a leaking waste drain that put our entire master bathroom out of commission.  The following morning, the plumber Peiman came out and did the repair with minimal demo required.  I was really concerned with the amount of wall that would have to be removed, but Peiman worked with me and explained the various options.  In the end, he did a timely repair and the master bath is back in business. 5 stars specifically for Peiman and the level of service.

I had a great experience with Mr Rooter. My heater stopped working in the morning and was beeping with error. I called Mr Rooter for a specialist to come and have a look. A gentleman by the name of Tommy was dispatched and was super helpful. After restarting the system and he made sure it was operational by running multiple faucets. He was very informative my letting me know about my water heater's capacity and what could go wrong. He  was also kind enough to waive his visitation fee of $40. I highly recommend their service.

We have hired Mr Rooter now for multiple jobs including redoing two of our toilets, repairing the pipe leading to our septic tank, adding a clean out, and a bunch of other little things. Every individual we've interacted with from the initial phone call to the work on-site was professional, friendly, efficient, and just an absolute pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of a plumber!

Update! (05/04/19): Mr. Rooter contacted me several weeks ago after my negative review and wanted to make things right by asking me what I thought a fair price would be. They agreed to my idea a of a fair price. I'm giving them more stars for reaching out. They didn't have to do that, but did.

Mr. Rooter sent Ryan out to fix a leaking outside faucet in my backyard. To get it fixed Ryan had to get under my kitchen sink and make a hole in the wall and work with the pipes going to the faucet. Ryan had it fixed in about an hour and a half. Brand new faucet...no leaks!

My only problem was the price. The bid was for $1,350 and I agreed to it up front thinking it was going to take a whole day. After learning how quick it was I was a bit shocked and asked for a discount. Ryan agreed to give me $200 off which brought the cost down to $1,150 with tax. Let's see...that's almost $600 per hour!

I'm still having a hard time swallowing such a huge bill for no more than 2 hours of work. I won't hire them again, because I feel gouged. Just to be clear Ryan did nothing wrong and was a true professional, but probably had to charge what the company wanted him to charge.

The next I hire a plumber, I'll get two bids. Lesson lea

I had a partially clogged sewer line (backing up into the basement).  It was on a weekend so I had to call these clowns instead of my usual sewer guys.  They came, spent a little time trying to get it open, and then tried to sell me on $10K+ worth of work.  I called my usual guys (Metropolitan - the only ones I trust) the next day and they got it open right away and told me that major work could wait.

Avoid these guys, their bread and butter is selling you on big $$ repairs when a competent company could have just gotten your drain open.

We contacted Mr Rooter back in May /2021 because we had no hot water.  The service man came out and dispose pilot light was out so restarted and got the hot water running again..NO CHARGE!  Then in July ran into same problem and again contacted this company.  Raymond provided excellent service with a quote for cost of them replacing the tank.  We tried to purchase tank ourselves but ran into problems.  Called Raymond and he showed up next day. He was professional, courteous and on time!  Also looked into a possible leak in shower and provided advise on how to proceed.  Have used this company on three occasions and would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

My kitchen sink garbage disposal was leaking so I called for repair and they sent someone out about 2 hours later. Peiman was polite, courteous, wore shoe coverings and face mask, replaced the disposal and took a look at a leaky bathtub faucet. Cost to replace disposal was $589.70 plus $20 travel surcharge = $609.70, minus $50 discount was $559.70, plus $57.37 tax for total of $617.70.  He was able to replace the disposal with one he went out and came back with, a 1/2 HP Badger 5 Insinkerator which is about $125 at Lowe's. Total work time 3 hours. So labor cost was about $150/hour!  Looking at the leaky bathtub faucet was free as I did not see it on the invoice later, and he changed the gasket on one handle but it is still dripping after shut-off.  All in all, service was fine but SO VERY EXPENSIVE.  He did say I could callback for a free visit if there were any problems. I've messaged Mr. Rooter to see if he could come back to look at the bathtub faucet again but since I did not see it mentioned on the invoice maybe it's not included. It was an emergency plumbing call, perhaps it would have been cheaper if I had not needed same-day service.

I had some trouble finding a plumber to replace my water heater on a weekend due to my work schedule. The other companies I contacted had a lot of questions and conditions, it almost made me feel like asking for their services was a burden. When I contacted Mr. Rooter, they asked the basics and made my appointment for two days later (on Sunday), it was a very easy process. The technician was prompt, but didn't attach some of the connections all the way so I wasn't getting hot water. When I called, they sent out an emergency technician within 30 minutes to fix the connections. I'm thankful they were available on a weekend and very happy with the service I received.

Leaving this review on behalf of my dear 85+ yo Grandparents as I normally step in to help with technology but can't with plumbing issues. That's where Mr. Rooter comes into play. They wanted to praise their plumber Tommy Hagerman who did an excellent job of installing a brand new toilet the morning after they called to report they had a leaky toilet. Tommy followed high safety standard in regards to Covid protocol and they were very impressed with the efficient and fast service. Bob and Joyce say thank you for the 5 star service Tommy!

Mr. Rooter was the most price competitive of the 3 bids I had on sewer repair. Their initial project kicked off in a timely manner before being dragged down by delays. Eventually the project was complete - however no walkthrough or signoff occured. My project manager then quit Mr. Rooter. As the weeks went on I started to get calls asking for final payment, even got 1-2 offers to have people stop by to go over my project with me. Nothing materialized. Eventually they mailed me the paperwork and ran my credit card on file.

For $10K I have an allegedly fixed sewer and some paperwork from the city... However, I cannot recommend this company's customer service.

I called Mr. Rooter needed a same day service.  They were able to come and help within the same morning!

Shamim with Mr. Rooter was amazing to work with.  He was very kind and courteous and did a great job getting a toilet wand  attachment out of my master bathroom toilet.

He provided me a discount at the end of the service and I was thrilled.

Thanks so much Mr. Rooter!!

Our 14 year old water heater took a tank on Monday - Mr. Mohammad Bagheri and his co worker came out the next day and gave us an estimate. After dealing with our insurance we called Mohammad this morning (Thursday) to see if he could get us in and he said he'd be here this afternoon. Mohammad and his co worker saved our family! We were truly miserable without hot water. They squeezed us into their already busy day and showed up at 630pm in Marysville the exact time they had said in the morning. We were so grateful they squeezed us in and got us a new tank! They drove all the way from Seattle to Marysville! They had the whole thing installed and working within an hour and a half. Thanks so much Mohammad! Definitely will use and recommend again! Also prices were competitive and better than other companies. Great service.

Do NOT be fooled into thinking that these are reasonable folks as I was by the $39 quoted price to come have a look and get an estimate. I have a clogged kitchen drain, all other drains including the washer 5 ft away were fine. Dude took one picture and quoted me minimum $430 if simply running the snake down the sink cleared it but no guarantee. Even tho I'm badly disabled, I chose to pay the $43 fee for his 3 mins and figure it out myself.  The  25' long snake cost $14 at Home Depot. I feel like an absolute fool for calling them and falling for the super nice ladies on the phone.

Requested help with gas water tank. Tech was courteous prompt, he did reset, however it didn't work. I called another company they ordered part it fixed hot water tank recommended to replace tank to the tune of $4000. Called another company total fix was under $1400. Huge diffrence!

I'll be the first to say that I'm not familiar with the going rate for plumbing work...I'm quickly learning. I had a new kitchen countertop and sink installed and none of the existing plumbing matched up. I spent a couple of hours doing my best to figure it out. I mean I took it apart I should be able to put it back together, right? Wrong. So I broke down and called Mr. Rooter.
The good: The customer service is the main reason I gave them 3 stars. The women I dealt with on the phone and the plumber that came to do the estimate were incredibly pleasant and helpful.
The bad: I thought that this would be a fairly easy job for an experienced plumber...connecting the sink drainage. The estimate was $300+. Ok, fair enough, I'm finding out...that's the price of plumbing apparently.
The ugly: I thought well since they're going to be here I might as well have them install the new faucet as well. Simple task, but since someone was going to be under there anyway I would just have them do it...so I asked for that to be included in the estimate. Holy crap...$342 to install a faucet...a faucet!
When they come to give you the estimate, they tell you the estimate, the schedule you...then email the estimate. When I got the itemized estimate and saw they were charging me $342, I called and cancelled the appointment on principle. I feel like $342 is an exorbitant amount to install a kitchen faucet.

In the end, I took 10-15 minutes and installed to faucet myself...and am still looking for someone for the remainder of the work. So to me clear, I still can't use my kitchen sink, but in my mind my principles are intact.

Update - I received an apology and gave the company a second chance. The team sent out were friendly, timely and knowledgeable.

Called for what may or may not have been a minor job. Appointment made for the following day. It was then rescheduled. Another appointment made and again I received a call seeking to reschedule whilst I was at home waiting for them to appear. Although I'm a stay at home Mom I still don't appreciate waiting around for hours when I could be out doing something fun with my sons. Especially as this was the second time and there was no apology. Not impressed in the slightest. Shoddy service of the highest

Mr Rooter saved the day! I had a backed up basement drain which was filling my downstairs. I had called another national brand plumber with the name rooter in it, they had given me multiple excuses for delays and then they stopped calling all together. In desperation I called Mr Rooter. The dispatcher was such a surprise, very professional, articulate and knew exactly where his plumbers were. He dispatched someone to my house and they arrived 15 minutes later. I was literally dumbfounded, a plumber that was early or on-time??? As the plumber arrived and assessed the issue, he talked me throughly through what he believed the issue was and the process he was going to take to fix it. He shared the price with me (which by the way was so inexpensive for an urgent - weekend after hours call I had to ask if he was sure that was it) and then he got to work.

Within 30 minuted the plumber had the issue resolved and my plumbing was fully functional. After he fixed it, he completely cleaned and sterilized the area.

So within 45 minutes of getting a call for help, Mr Rooter had arrived, fixed the issue, cleaned and sterilized the basement and had given us suggestions for how to prevent the problem from happening again!!

Mr Rooter - you guys totally saved us, great job!!

They came out to our apt building to fix a clogged drain and leak. One year later they came out again to fix the very same problem but this time they talked me into paying extra and getting the hydro scrub warranty. Now, 13 months later we have the same problem again but they won't honor the warranty because it's a month past coverage. Obviously they are not really fixing the problem and scamming people with this warranty. Not a happy customer and they had no response when I told them how I felt.

Our problem started when Mr. Rooter fixed a broken drain pipe to the house next door.  They flushed/scrubbed their 4 inch drain line which is connected at a Y to our 4 inch drain line as well as a 6 inch line to the main.  They cleaned out the next door pipe and pushed it into our 4 inch pipe rather than the shared 6 inch pipe.  This of course blocked our 4 inch pipe.  I called and they sent out the same Service Professional.  He put the scope in and it seemed to be blocked about 10 feet in.  When I explained what had happened he stated that the cleaning of the neighbor's pipe would have gone in the shared 6-inch pipe not our 4-inch pipe and that there must be another problem.  He said that we had to start with a scrubbing ourselves and see if there was a broken pipe.  He said we had to pay for that ($1,326 with tax) before he could schedule it.  Since we had water coming back into the house and needed it fixed, I agreed.  The crew that came the next day to scrub the pipe used the scope and were able to get through the blockage so that the pipe drained.  They then did do the scrubbing/jetting.  We are now out $1,326 for a problem we would not have had had Mr. Rooter not caused it in the first place.  I will be filing complaints.

UPDATE:  Robert, manager of Mr. Rooter, called me to discuss the problem.  I explained and he sent out someone to check out the drain again.  He called me back after discussions with his personnel and looking at the video.  He agreed that what I was saying was possible but that there was no way to prove it either way.  He therefore offered to split the cost with us and refund us half.  I agreed with this because we did get value in having our 4-inch pipe and the shared 6-inch pipe scrubbed clean.  I do appreciate his willingness to listen and find a solution.

I don't like doing reviews, so it's an exception that I am taking the time to comment on my recent experience with Mr. Rooter.  I've been a Mr. Rooter customer for decades; sometimes a fix would take 30min, sometimes it was a couple of hours. I always felt their prices were on the high side but the work was good.  This review is about my first experience with a warranty issue. The initial call out work was 'ok'. A bathroom faucet install was less than satisfactory and an attempt to fix a leaky kitchen faucet made it worse (2 star review).  The technician came back and fixed everything perfectly; it's the follow up work and Mr. Rooters guarantee to make it right that I really appreciate (+3 star). Thank you Mr. Rooter for your old school attitude (taking care of the customer) that continues to keep my business (your card is still stuck to my fridge)!

ps. shout out to the tech who came back to fix everything, he had a great attitude!

Very expensive. A 30 min job to fix a leaking drain under the kitchen sink ended up running $450. $800/hour in labor is a bit much for a simple fix. $50 for parts is also pretty hefty for some plastic pipe ($7 at home depot), clear caulk, and a few inches teflon tape.

Jim was very helpful and got my drain unclogged quickly upon arrival. Pricey but I wasn't able to get it done myself so sometimes you gotta pay up or have no use of your kitchen sink/dishwasher. Only issue I had was getting them to show up. They were not able to make it out on the day I had scheduled and were past the window the following day. I realize that things happen but calling 10 minutes before a time window closes is less than ideal. That being said, the plumber (Jim) was great and got the job done. Would use again if needed.

Was able to get a reply from an employee over the Yelp app late at night & have someone come out the very next day to unclog our pipe under the sink! They came on time within the time frame they gave me & called me when they were in route to our place. Thankfully it was in our budget to have the pipe snaked. Now I know that the disposal is just in case something goes down the drain... not to flush piles of celery juice down  Lesson learned! Will be using Mr. Rooster again when we're ready to have a leak in our bathroom fixed!

The entire Mr. Rooter team was exceptional. I called them early one morning and they had a team out to our house that same day--they also had a very reliable Dispatch Rep who would call me 30-mins before each visit's expected arrival window.  Everyone that came to our house spent a meaningful amount of time assessing the work, explaining things in great detail to us, repeating their answers to both my husband and to myself, and just generally making sure we felt like we had all of the information that we needed. We ultimately went with another company due to costs, but Mr. Rooter was a really great option.

Had my master bath toilet replaced, as I was told it may still have problems if repaired.  The plumbers had to leave and go buy a new toilet and then come and instal it.  The first quote was 540.00 to repair, or 977.00 to replace.  Both were OUTRAGEOUS.  After asking to talk to the manager, the instal price was 775.00. Still very high, but better.  Would not recommend this company.  At least its done.

A representative came to my home because of sewer problem. He told me they don't do septic tanks and that's the problem then tried to charge me $498 for a visit which took only one hour. He only ran the line, but was unable to fix the problem. After I threaten to report them to the Better Business Council, he reduced the fee to $198. Then, he told me to get a membership which we be $298 and I can get 15% off next service. He then told me to call him after the septic company cleans the tank and he will run a jetser for $950, but he would give me a $15 discount.

The septic company resolve the issue for $300. Mr. Rooter has already has a bad rating on consumer affairs, but I didn't realize his unethical practices until I called for service.

A few months ago my drain backed up and I needed  it to be roto rootered. I called Mr. Rooter and told them my problem. They said they could come that evening, I also have a Valued Customer Protection Plan, Life Time that I paid $249.00 for, They guy came out and he had to pull the toilet to Roto Rooter my sewer line,  They were there for about 25 or 30 minutes,  It cost me over $620.00 just to snake my sewer line. They put the toilet back into place and didn't bother to calk it. I feel like I was totally ripped off.  I am very unhappy with Mr. Rooter and want to know why they charge so much  money just to snake out my drain,  Carol Boddy,

I called them at noon with a minor emergency in home (water leaking from between the first and second floor.  They were the only company that came out to where I live that said that they could have someone there that day.  At 4pm, they called and said that they could not come out that day but they would definitely have someone out there by 9am the next day.  I took a few hours off of work and waited for them.  At 11am, I called to find out what was happening, I was told that the plumber who would help me had started work and I was his first call, so he should be there soon.  He arrived at 12:30pm.  So I ended up taking the entire day off.

The plumber who helped was friendly and kept me informed of what was going on.  At one point, though, he wanted to cut a large hole in a bedroom wall to replace the entire shower/tub mechanism.  This made no sense, because the leak did not happen when we just ran water from the shower and tub.  It only leaked when water splashed against the wall.  He continued to insist that we had to replace the entire thing ($1250).  I was assertive and after he put silicone around a couple of pieces that were easily removed and replaced, the leak was fixed ($200).  I am glad that I was assertive because I would have had a lot more dry wall to fix if I hadn't been.

Cannot recommend.

There was a small problem with the basket (drain) in the kitchen sink.  I called it in on Sunday.  A lovely person picks up on the second ring and offers to send someone out on the same day.  On Easter?  No way.  Plumbers have families and deserve down time also.  The plumber showed up at 9:00 today and discovered a defect in the part that I had supplied.  He could have said tough cookies (since I supplied the part), but instead went out to his truck, brought in a new part, and made everything right.  He was also happy to wait if I wanted to run to the store to get the part on my own.

We also got to jawbone about various plumbing topics again.

I think Mr. Rooter did a great job.  I don't think I'll have to call the plumber again.  Too bad, because he's a wealth of knowledge and fun to talk with!

Our preschool was in a bind with a clogged toilet and our typical plumber was busy so we took a chance with mr. rooter. They charged us 3 times what we typically pay, screwed the toilet bolts too tight and broke the flange but didn't notice at the time. For a month, we had a slow leak that finally became apparent and when we asked them to come back out, they admitted that the last technician broke the flange but now this was a bigger problem that will need the floor torn up to fix, would you like a quote to fix it? No thank you, I would not like an overpriced estimate to fix the mistake you previously made. Somehow, O'neil plumbing pulled through again without tearing the floor up to fix this mistake made by Mr. Rooter. Never again

I bought a house earlier this year, and about a week after closing I had to travel for work.  Once I got moved in, and right before I left, I noticed the spigot on the front of the house was leaking..and leaking...and leaking...

36 hours before departure, I called around to as many places as I could, as I did not want the spigot to leak the whole time I was out of town.  Mr. Rooter was the only one who was willing to come out same day.  In fact, the guy came around 8pm.  He had to replace part of the copper pipe as well as the spigot, which turned out to be bad due to the previous home owner leaving the hose connected throughout who knows how many winters.  The plumber was very knowledgeable and courteous.  He completed the job in about 1.5 hours with great success and no more leaking spigot.

The total cost was $258.  I have no idea if it this too high, but to me it was worthwhile considering the situation and their same day service.

Much appreciated!

My garbage disposal had an active leak and it was the weekend.  I called Mr. Rooter to get an estimate for replacing a garbage disposal.  They said they will not quote an estimate over the phone, only when a technician looks at it (charge of $39).
When he arrived, the technician said it will cost over $600 - to replace the garbage disposal (no more than that).  Since I waited half-day for them to arrive, and had an active leak, I paid the $600 to replace the garbage disposal and vowed that I will never recommend Mr. Rooter to any of my associates or friends.  Mr. Rooter knew that I was desperate and took advantage of me by overcharging me for a garbage disposal replacement.  The low $39 fee was clearly used as bait so Mr. Rooter can overcharge desperate customers with active plumbing leaks.

Overall: Prompt and excellent service

We finally called a plumber in after procrastinating about the water stains that appeared on our living room ceiling. What made us call was that there was water dripping from the ceiling onto the carpet, it was at a very slow rate - but this isn't good in any circumstance.

The reason we called Mr. Rooter was because we saw the advert in Metropolitan Home (most of the places advertised in there are decent). I also checked out Yelp for reviews and there was ONLY one review with 4 stars. We knew the job would NOT be cheap, but all we wanted was for it to be fixed and fixed properly.

We called them around 09:00 and they told us that they would call us again to let us know when the technician should arrive. The lady called again at 11:00 and told us that he's on his way; he finally arrived around 11:30. His name was Reuben Boswell and was exceedingly polite, friendly and listened to what the problems were intently.

You don't need to tell them to take their shoes off - they come with shoe covers to protect your carpet/floors. He continuously took them on and off as he went into and out of the house respectively. He was also extremely careful not to let our indoor kitty out.

The two problems we had was that there was a slow leak in our living room ceiling and the toilet in the family bath constantly dripped. However, the leak was far more important.

The best thing was that he'd look at the problem, look in his manual and then tell you how much it'll be. He then writes it on an invoice type sheet and gets you to authorize the work to be done. This value does not change and he carries almost everything in his van.

He gave our toilet a complete tank overhaul by replacing the old plastic ball cock system, which cost $427 and took one hour. He then went on to diagnose and fix the problem with our shower, which took a further two hours. Next, he proceeded to give us a free inspection to check that everything was ok.

The total was around $700. I asked him about savings for today and he didn't try to sell us the membership, but I decided to go ahead with a one year subscription as it saved me $2.00, wow! The benefits you get from being a member was good, considering it was practically free -  you get a discount, priority schedule, periodic specials, personalized records and it's transferrable. Well we didn't really need it, but what was the harm if the total was the same price?

I would recommend these people, although not cheap - they are honest, trustworthy, polite and tidy. They are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and there's never an overtime charge. However, it's a shame that none of their work is guaranteed.

We needed a sewer scope to include with the documentation for selling our house.  The Company needed to reschedule and knocked $50 off the $250 they charge for this service.  So far, so good.  The plumber shows up and finds our clean out is inaccessible due to a stripped screw holding the cover in place.  He decides the best route is to remove the toilet and perform the scope from there.  He is super polite and didn't charge us for the additional effort required.  Still, so far, so good.  The scope work is performed and we are told there is a small root intrusion in the line.  Now the fun begins...  how small is small and how far out is it located?  We can't tell you, we don't know - you can see the video.  We explain that we need a accurate report for our documentation. The plumber then prepares our bill and results but includes a reference to $5300 of recommended work.

We have had no issues with this sewer.  Adding a recommendation to the scope is not going to look good to a potential buyer.  We ask for the recommendation to be separated out from the bill.  Okay, they can do that.  But, the invoice still shows the reference to the recommendation.  We did not ask for a recommendation, just the scope.  The plumber seemed to understand but referred it to his supervisor.  The supervisor doesn't seem to understand.  All they appear to want is to attach this $5300 to somebody - either us or a potential buyer.  Did I mention that there are no problems with our sewer.  We merely want full disclosure and the buyer can go from there.  This recommendation that Mr. Rooter refuses to remove is a scare tactic that could affect the sale of our house.

Thank goodness we're only out $200 and totally irritated with trying to explain this issue over and over again to only be stone walled.  The solution is to use a different scoping service and make sure they understand what we need before we hire them.

Now, my personal rant.  Listening to their male centric misogynistic phone hold advertising is disgusting.  Even though my husband handled this issue, I'm a trades woman and am skilled in construction and know more than average.  Why Mr. Rooter doesn't supply their plumbers with a screw extractor or the skills required to simply remove a stripped screw is beyond me... Why the company can't provide a simple scoping of the line without an upsell is frustrating.  We will not recommend their services or use them in the future.

Update:  Just got the written estimate.  Not even close to what we asked them to do.  This place is only going to try to get into your pockets as deep as they can.  We asked for an accurate scope of the sewer line (that's what we paid for).

We had a large, scheduled plumbing project. Mr. Rooter wasn't the cheapest, but it was the one we were most confident in. The dollars spent will amortize over the years, making the quote differences relatively incidental in the long run. The project was started and completed on time and in a way that was as invisible to our daily lives as possible. (The water to the house was shut off for a few hours.)  We're very happy customers.

With our long, hot summer I hadn't given my furnace a lot of thought - until the weather turned cold and I turned it on...and nothing happened. After a moment of kicking myself for not testing it sooner, I called Mr. Rooter and was told they'd have someone out the next day. They gave me a time frame but also told me they'd call when they were aproximately 30 minutes out. They called half an hour into their time block and Scott Roderick was at my house 30 minutes later - love the timeliness!

The diagnosis on my furnace wasn't what I wanted to hear, however some of my upset was mitigated by how Scott treated me. So many other repair people have been short and vague, as if because I'm female I wouldn't understand! Scott explained what was going on, why it could happen, what my options were, and made me feel comfortable. He wouldn't be able to fix it that day as they were going to need to order a part, and it was already late afternoon on a Friday. We negotiated on the price a bit, and while it was still more than I had budgeted for, it was fair. Later that same day I got a call from Robert Miller (their Operations Manager) to let me know that they got the part and could come back the very next day. I had to delay it due to work, and he was amazing at working around my schedule to set our next appointment.

A few days later I got the 30 minute notice phone call (right on time again), and Scott was back with the new part shortly after. I showed him where my breaker box was and left him to work, but it wasn't very long before I heard him turn the breaker back on, and heard my furnace start up! Scott gave me some great news - once he'd taken the furnace further apart to put the new part in, he'd discovered water, dirt, and plugged hoses...that once cleaned out allowed the furnace to start back up! He told me that I didn't need that new part after all and my bill was only 1/3 of what I'd expected!

The timely, friendly, explanatory, fairly priced, service that this company provided was great! I truly believe that most companies would have been happy to spend the time they planned, put in the part they'd already picked up, and charged me the money I'd agreed to. I am beyond impressed and grateful to Scott for his honesty, and for saving me about a thousand dollars that will put my Christmas budget back in line!

Thank you Mr. Rooter Seattle - I will certainly be calling you with any future needs and urge others to as well!

My tenants in a first floor condo notified me of a kitchen sink that was backing up on a Friday night.  I found Mr Rooter on Yelp.  The Mr Rooter dispatcher & technician were both polite.  However, there was a bit of a language barrier that was frustrating at times.  (I had to deal with this situation exclusively by phone because I was out of the area).

I asked the dispatcher how Mr Rooter's repair fees worked, and she did not answer that question.  I ended up scheduling the diagnosis anyways as it was Friday night & I needed it dealt with.

The technician diagnosed the problem quickly to be a clog in the main kitchen line, which was tied in with the kitchens of the units above us, as I had expected.  He said the repair would be a flat $500 which I was not happy about.  I asked him how this fee was calculated and he said it's just their fee.  He made a point of saying It's going to be a long night snaking out the clog and cleaning up the mess, implying that the job was going to take a long time.  I asked if I could just pay by the hour, and he said No, it was only a flat fee option.  I told him I don't like that because if he finishes the job in an hour or less that's too expensive.

Because I was stuck with a backing up sink, I felt trapped and authorized the work.  From the time that I authorized the work until the repairman called me to say it was done, it was 47 minutes.  He was at my property for about 1 hour & 20 minutes total.

Was it diagnosed & repaired timely:  Yes
Was it a fair price/value:  No

Would I use Mr Rooter again or refer others?  Maybe, but not definitely.  My preference would be to find a good company that charges a fair hourly rate.

Update: This is a long-pending update. The branch manager indeed called me after they realized what had happened. Not only did they sincerely apologize for the error, they also refunded the service charge. I appreciate the manager's promptness in reaching out and trying to fix the situation for me.

Original post: I recently changed my kitchen and bathroom vanity countertops, and asked Mr. Rooter to fix new faucets (that we had purchased), the same garbage disposal, and do any additional plumbing (if required).

They sent a person to give me an estimate. The technician told me that this should be a simple job. This was encouraging - until they told me that it would cost me over $4,000 for the job. I told them I'd think about it, and get back to them. I eventually got the job done by a reputed plumbing company for less than $800. Mr. Rooter quoted me a price that was greater than 5X.

They also charged me $40 to give me an estimate. The technician shamelessly tried to suggest that they were giving me a discount, since they typically add a $20 charge for transportation. They had clearly not indicated this, and I made it clear that even the suggestion was ridiculous, since many other companies don't charge to provide an estimate.

The technician told me that they don't use components from Home Depot since they're not quality products (since when?). He told me that he needed to get branded accessories (all I needed was a sink bracket - which is a universal $15 component) that they can only get from their warehouse, which would take several days. This was a clear hint that they were not trustworthy, since no other company told me this.

The technician also tried to tell me how they were giving me a discount for a big job. This was of course ridiculous, since 1) they were charging me 5X and 2) When I got a quote for the kitchen (potentially the biggest job), it was ~1/5 the full job estimate (I had 4 bathroom vanity sinks + kitchen).

Never going to contact these guys again.

Thank you so much to Mr. Rooter Plumbing for your great service.  Ken, Jim and Vinny were amazing!!  A job that I have been dreading for a while became inevitable. They were super, very patient with my panic and anxiety, and did excellent work.  And as if that all wasn't enough...they did the job at considerably less cost than what I was expecting/dreading. They did the job for even less than what I was quoted for the work nearly 18 months ago from a competitor!  Thank you so much!

Just had them at my home for the third time. Once again I came away impressed with the quality of their work and people. They  replaced my water main this time and in spite of some digging, the yard is back as it was. The service was amazing. They came out the same day to do the estimate and the work was completed the next day. The tools and technolgy used saved money and made the work go quicker. It took just a few hours. Once again I will give them 5 stars!!

The plumbing technician, Jim Yorba, did an amazing job on our clogged bathtub. He immediately figured out where the exact problem lies. He was so precise and knowledgeable. He even taught us what to do next time and how to prevent the same thing from happening. The project was fairly priced. I will definitely and highly recommend Mr.Rooter and their technician Jim Yorba for all the plumbing services. Kudos guys!!!

very pricey- 400$ to scope my line. Also, high pressure. They pushed hard for me to start today!  Found out that what they wanted to do is not necessary at all. They tried to warn me that not doing something would be terrible. I felt like they only wanted to do a big bux job (7K) or nothing....

Oh, sewage problems...nothing stinks more than sewage back-up in a weekend... so here we were, frantically searching Google to figure out who can come on short notice on a Sunday. I remember seeing the Mr. Rooter trucks on the road, with the cute drawing of winking Mr. Rooter (he is literally winking at you, I should have remembered my mama's advice to not trust winking guys!), they are available on short notice, so let's call them. Sure enough, they showed up promptly, took the toilet off, put the rooter in, the camera, shook their heads and concluded that I had a compromised piece of pipe (presumably from a root growing root growing in it). They could not go any further with their rooter. They needed to dig up the yard, get the pipe replaced and they could start right away, as soon as I signed on the dotted line for $6000... ouch!  And wait, if they had to dig more than 4 ft, it will be $7800. Needless to say I had a stroke, fainted, hit my head on the asphalt and ended up with a concussion - just kidding, I went directly to the concussion part. That was a lot of money I did not have and that pretty much saved me. I declined their offer of immediate help and decided to figure out alternatives. I still got a bill for $650 from them for their emergency visit.

Second round I did remember my mama's advice: if something is not adding up, redo your math! The whole they went as far as they could stuck in my traumatized brain... so I decided to do some Google searches about sewage, rooters, companies etc. Turns out different companies carry different length of roto-rooters (the long wire they use to go through the pipes and unclog them). Mr. Rooter has a short one (don't remember the length), but the other 4 reputable companies I called had much longer ones. Interestingly, when I asked them what is standard length for a professional company, all 4 companies gave me the same answer, which was way longer than what Mr. Rooter had (i did not tell them my story, just asked the question). So I brought in a different company who promptly unclogged the pipe, took a video of the pipes and surprise, surprise: we could see nice, new pvc piping with no breaks, roots or other compromising issues. Well, Mr. Rooter, no wonder you imagined things, your camera was swimming in poop because your rooter was too short! When I brought this up to their attention, they said long rooters weigh too much and that's why their trucks have shorter ones...hmmm... I just wonder what happened with honest disclosures... or not taking a job you can't do.

Needless to say, I dodged the bullet on a $7000 bill, having the yard dug out and having perfectly good pipes replaced. Mr. Rooter did cut a deal with me for a lower amount after I complained of their inadequate equipment and wrong (and expensive) advice given by their techs.

Bottom line, I would not recommend them to anybody. And if you find yourself in my situation, start by asking the company about the length of their roto-rooter and make sure it is long enough to go from your toilet (or clean port) to the street. Our yard is not that big, I never thought a professional sewage company would not have what is needed. And listen to your mama! Mine was right - never trust a winking man!

Minus - no clear breakdown of costs which seemed much higher than warranted for the time spent and work performed compared to another company with whom I have experience.

I had an outside drain plugged up and called Mr. Rooter on a Friday afternoon and they scheduled a service tech the following morning.  Ryan showed up on time, took a look at the issue (tree roots as I suspected) and provided an estimate before starting any work.  Ryan was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He took his time to make sure the roots were thoroughly cleaned out which I appreciated.
I would not hesitate to use Ryan and Mr. Rooter again for any future plumbing projects.

Great experience with Mr Rooter!  The fair price, quality work, and customer service is what made it great.  The lead specialist Dave was such a nice guy and helped us figure out the exact right solution.  It feels so good to have that issue taken care of (pipe right next to big ole Cedar tree) and to know it won't be causing us any problems.  I'm normally don't care much about guarantees but they do a 10 yr and that does actually give me extra comfort.

Wouldn't call them again.
I called them on a Monday morning because my regular plumber couldn't come until Tuesday and our kitchen sink had been backed up since Saturday.  They gave me a time of 1-4:00 when I asked for an appointment that day.  I waited around all afternoon and called them back at 3:30.  After some time on hold, they told me my appointment was for Tuesday.  I would not have contacted them for a time that The Plumbing Joint could come.  I told them to cancel the appointment.  On Tuesday, after my drain was fixed, there is Mr. Rooter on my security camera in my driveway at about 3:40.  I think they have a big problem with communication.  Did not appreciate the messages on my answering machine either about waiting for me to come home.  I was out shopping and called them after my camera sent me an alert about their presence to remind them that we no longer HAD an appointment. I am used to more professional people.

Sunday night of Memorial Day weekend my husband and I are at home doing laundry when we suddenly realize lots of water is seeping through our basement toilet, through the wall, and into the fully finished living space (the basement remodel is brand new). We had trouble getting the water to shut off all of the way, so I ran to yelp and called the first rated emergency plumber on the list while my husband frantically tried to stop the water.

I called Mr. Rooter Plumbing (Seattle) and the woman who answered the phone asked me what was going on. I told her the above. She said their on-call guy was already out on a call, could this wait until the morning? NO! I said if they couldn't get someone here in an hour then I would find someone else. She asked for 5 minutes, and promptly called me back and said she could have someone there in 30 minutes. Great.

45 minutes later I've heard nothing. My husband has managed to get the water to stop so the big emergency has subsided but we have a wet, non-functioning bathroom that clearly needs attention. I call Mr. Rooter back and the woman said, Oh yeah... I totally gave him the wrong address and sent him across town. Oops, my bad! Are you kidding me? First, that's a huge mistake. Second, I felt like I was talking to a teenager, the lack of professional tone is appalling to me as someone who I suspect is in the same age bracket. She said he should be no more than 25 minutes away. An additional 50 minutes later the truck showed up. Time from first phone call to truck at my house was a little over 2 hours, when I was initially told 30 minutes.

The plumber himself was a nice enough guy. He assessed the situation, was able recreate the problem, and proposed the fix. He quoted us a price of around $420 plus tax to pull the toilet and snake the drain to the street to fix our backed up sewer. At this point it's after 10 pm and I have no idea if that's a lot of money or not, but I said yes. I want it fixed tonight. Did I mention I'm 6 months pregnant and having the water turned on and not able to use my toilet is a very, very bad thing?

At around 11pm the plumber tells us he can't find the blockage. He didn't bring a sewer scope with him so he can't see where he's going. He's gone out 50 feet and he's not sure what to do. He can go back to the company, get the scope, and return after midnight, or come back in the morning, between 9 and 10 a.m. At this point I'm exhausted and we opt to have him return in the morning. He tells us not to use the plumbing until then. Not fun, but we'll deal. My husband asks if we'll be charged for a second visit, or if this is all part of the price to get it fixed. He says we probably won't be charged but he can't say for sure. Ugh. He leaves at 11:30pm.

In the morning my husband and I go to the local gym to do our business and go home to wait for Mr. Rooter to show up. 9 am, 10 am, 10:20 I call and get the same woman on the phone. She says, oh yeah you guys, well, I haven't been able to get a hold of the plumber you worked with and so I don't know what's going on. But I do know he was up very late last night, so... Yes, lady, I know. I was up late, too. She says she'll call me back in 20 minutes. She tries to confirm my phone number and she has it listed wrong. Shocking, after the address debacle the night before. But the plumber had called me from the road last night in the one and only time someone from Mr. Rooter called me, so I know he has my phone number.

I immediately start calling other drain specialists and made arrangements with someone else. I call Mr. Rooter back (this would be about an hour after she told me she'd call me back in 20 minutes) and told her to cancel. She said sorry. Yeah, me, too. Click.

The lack of communication was probably the worst part of this experience, coupled with the office's inability to get either my address or phone number correct. I was disappointed that the plumber didn't bring all of the necessary equipment to deal with this issue in the first place but was okay with him coming back in the morning (given the late hour) assuming we weren't charged extra. But I never heard from Mr. Rooter again... I had to call and get the run around until I cancelled.

If I receive a bill, I will not be paying it. By the time the plumber showed up the water was turned off. All he did was recreate the issue. He pulled out my toilet but didn't fix the problem, so not only am I left with the original issue but my toilet is pulled out as well.

Ah yes, I almost forgot the other annoying thing. The plumber kept telling us that we need the water issue cleaned and offered to connect us multiple times to the company they recommend. Finally I said sure, give me the number and I can get pricing info. He starts to give me the phone number, but then insists on calling himself on his phone and makes sure to tell the person answering who he is and that he's from Mr. Rooter before handing off the phone. Methinks commission?

I needed to have a drainpipe jetted out at my rental property and Mr. Rooter was highly recommended to me. When the service person arrived, I asked if he would provide a report for me so I can disclose it when I sell the house. I also told him to call me if he had any troubles. I never received a call and I never received a report. When I returned to the house two days later, a whole corner of it all the way to the roof was splattered in mud and there was a large hole in the ground around where the work had been done. I called Mr. Rooter to complain, but because it was a weekend I was told that someone would get back to me within 48-hours. No one ever returned my call. I do not recommend and will not use them again.

I had a clogged main drain pipe. Mr. Rooter came out and unclogged it, but let me know it was going to clog again since all they could do was push through the clog, but not jet the main pipe since we didn't have a clean out. We got a quote from Mr. Rooter, which seemed high (and was, based on after the fact research), but when the drain clogged a few days later we needed to get the system taken care of, and didn't have time to get other quotes (I tried, but couldn't get anyone else out that day for comparison).
Anyway, Mr. Rooter did the work relatively quickly (it took them longer than they thought due to difficult soil), and their folks were friendly. Everythings better now in drain-town. If Mr. Rooter's price was not 2-3x what it should have been my review would be much better. I feel like (and I guess this is the way some plumbers work) that they charged what they could, not really what it should cost (with profit, of course).

I had Mr. Rooter come out in 2015 and replace a faucet on the exterior of my house.  Pierce County  requires outside faucets to have to have the anti-siphon faucet.  Scott the gentleman that did the repair not only grossly overcharged me for the service,  but used the wrong valve.  So the next year 2016 it started leaking again and I called and this time Wayne came out and you could see he was obviously frustrated over the poor workmanship from the previous repairperson.  He replaced it with the correct valve, only to have it start leaking as well.  Unfortunately May 2017, I ended up in the Harrison Medical Center with a ruptured gallbladder and additional medical issue, and forgot to call them with the news that second replacement valve was leaking.  So yesterday I called and spoke with a lady at the office, explained the situation, and she said they would come fix it with no problems, seeing as my medical situation.  SO, Ben shows up at 5:00 or a little before and informs me it is out of warranty and it would be almost $400 to replace the defective valve.  Two valves both around $400 each, and I kid you not it literally takes 10 minutes to do the job as everything is easy access.  Mr. Rooter you are not only no sympathetic to a persons situation, but you are running a total scam.  I understand the jobs are more than likely averaged out....but you should charge by the job, not the average.  As I know the gentleman is a professional, but does not deserve  to make $300 off me for a 10 minute job and I am estimating $50 or $60 for the valve at your cost.  So the repairperson knew I was mad, and frustrated so he call his boss Jonathan, and their fair offer was half price.  You as a company are ripping people off.  Especially the ones that live paycheck to paycheck and are disabled.  I cannot even fathom the elderly whom are a fixed income and something major  happens.  Now here is the kicker, we use you as out plumbing company for our apartments in Seattle....Well not anymore.  Folks I suggest you call around and shop around and do not use these folks.

Had a basement drain overflow and since we are expecting numerous rain/wind storms I didn't/couldn't wait for someone to come out later in the week.  I called on a Wednesday night around 6pm and they had someone out by 7:30pm.  Ron came out and was super friendly and cheerful.  He snaked our main drain and cleared the clog.  We had two areas he said that probably had roots and the company will send someone with a camera free of charge to let us know what is going on tomorrow.  The work is guaranteed for 4 years.  It cost $460, which is pricey, but he did come out after hours and it was worth it for me because we have those storms rolling in tomorrow.  Ron was great!

I had a leak behind my shower.   Called Mr. Rooter, they were able to come out the same day which was nice.

Plumber didnt really due their due diligence investigating, we had some trouble reproducing the leak (of course doesnt happen when plumber shows up), but there is for sure a leak.  They pretty much just quit.

I was able to see the leak the next day and called to have them come back since i had more info on where it was coming from, but they mis-scheduled.  Annoying when you take time off work for thigns like this.

SO basically spent 150 bucks to have a plumber cut through dry wall to tell me they wont patch it and wont fix it.

Try someone other than Mr.Rooter.

Randy is a great guy to work with.  I specifically asked for him.  He's very knowledgeable and can work with old and new infrastructure.  Very clean setup and leaves the work site spotless

Amanda is pretty customer focused.  She works for you.  I'm glad to have her representing the customer.

The dispatch center is disconnected with the rest of the business.  They should leverage the specific requests from Amanda and be sure that Randy gets the message.

Lastly...the costs are too high in my opinion.  Something as simple as a snaking a p-trap for 5 minutes shouldn't cost over $200.  That's just wrong.  Treat returning customers like MVPs so we can call you back again.

I contacted Mr Rooter to give me an estimate on a new tankless water heater I was looking for.  Trevor came out, and he was the nicest guy and we went over all the details and information, and he told me he would give me quotes on two different systems, and I never got the quote on the second system.  Their office followed up a couple times, and i had to ask for the model number for the Rinnai they were going to use, and i got all of that.   I got the estimate from Tracie Hawkins in their office and i responded back to her e mail, the same day, asking for them to give me another estimate with the same Rinnai Water heater that i had been quoted with from other installers, and she never responded.  Its almost a month later and I still have not heard back.  I recommend that you try other plumbers if your going to be doing a large project.  This was a $6000 plus project, i would have thought they might have had a little more interest in getting the job.

This is my first 1 star rating, wish it could be lower.
Job done, all I needed was my drainpipe rootered. Unfortunately I was totally screwed over on price. I had already cleaned p drain and just needed to have deep clog cleared. First was quoted $450 got it down to $350.   Does anyone think this is fair?   30 minutes of drain snaking, I will be contacting BBB. The only reason I agreed was because they charge $50 just to come and assess problem and a second plumber would have charged and Mr. Rooter would still get the a free $50.  Just bad business practices, will let as many people know as possible to avoid them at all costs.

Not having a kitchen sink is the pits.

The night before we left for Mexico (that is, 5 hours before we left for the airport, at midnight on a Thursday), shit water started coming out of the drain whenever we ran the garbage disposal.  Because of the hour, we couldn't call anyone; we couldn't even go to Home Depot to pick up a plunger, snake, air gun, or Drano.  Luckily, we were going to Mexico.

*8 glorious days go by*

On the plane ride home, I leaned over and reminded dfens, We have to call a plumber.

Not so fast.  First we had to try out the DIY - Home Depot for a plunger, snake, air gun, and Drano.  We plunged until I thought the entire sink would fall out of the wall; we snaked...well, not so far - it couldn't get around a turn in the pipes; we airgunned until we got shit water all over ourselves; and when nothing else worked, we Drano-ed (the garbage disposal-safe kind...although Drano IS still really bad for pipes if the clog doesn't go anywhere).

I took an extra day to figure out what plumber to go with.

Finally, I decided to call Mr. Rooter.

10:30a - I call, they say, We'll have someone out within the hour.

11:30a - Eric shows up.  He takes a look under the sink and finds a maze of pipes that are all a bit weird, with connectors and angle-y things that don't do anything.  I'm picturing a blend of Frankenstein and the Winchester Mystery House, all compacted underneath the kitchen sink.  At this point, he gives me an estimate (NOT just concocted in his head, these were standardized estimates on laminated paper!).

He goes out to the van and returns with an industrial-sized snake.  He's able to get around the bend in the pipes, and moves it through, further and further and further, so far that he asks me to make sure I don't hear it coming out through the washing machine on the other side of the room.  While he's snaking, I start to freak myself out with what could possibly come out of those pipes: chicken bones, a small child, and because I'm a weirdo, I pictured a huge ear and a huge clump of earwax. :-/

It turned out that, much like our arteries, sludge starts to build up around the inner surface of house pipes, making the opening smaller and smaller.  At some point, anything could get in there and stop everything.  Voila, shit water all over the floor.

After he got the pipes cleaned, he checked the dishwasher and the other pipes for rust (and had to change some fitting thing, for which he didn't charge).  He also put in a degreaser that would have been an extra ~$40, but only turned out to be $2 more because he gave me the member price.  I'd like to think it was because I was extra nice and helpful and asked him inane questions about doohickies and thingamabobs.
1:15p (less than three hours after the original call) - Eric was done!

*Finally, Mr. Rooter's motto is there's a reason why they call us Mr.*

Among the many reasons they have on their website, Friendly and professional. - check.  Wears a belt. (you know why.) - I actually think Eric did NOT wear a belt, but I didn't see a butt crack, which was a plus.  Knows the price before he starts. - check (LAMINATED PRICE SHEET people!).  They neglected to say a penis was required, but that's okay with me because as of now, this woman is in no hurry to become a plumber.

This was the first time we have used Mr. Rooter.  We had low water pressure on our kitchen sink faucet.  Mr. Rooter was able to send someone out that afternoon to take a look.  Our tech, Nathan was polite and professional.  He rebuilt our faucet with new parts.  He ran into a few snags along the way, but patiently resolved the problems.  The repair job is perfect.  We're very happy.  The only reason I don't give these guys 5 stars is because they are probably a little more expensive than most smaller outfits might charge, but the quality of the job is excellent, plus these guys charge by the job, not by the hour, so I knew up front how much it would cost.  No surprises!

We called for a stopped up kitchen sink.  Good news = same day availability on a week day.
BAD NEWS = $400 to clean out a kitchen drain with degreaser.  Take note:  not the big whole house drain, just the KITCHEN drain.  They did show up when they said they would, but $400 for a little degreaser and less than an hour's time. A RIP OFF.  We went ahead since we had someone there to meet him and I didn't want to take time off to go another day.  Will NOT call them again.

First of all, please see Rodney R's review.  I wish I had before going with Mr. Rooter.   I had a pressure vacuum seal on a sprinkler system blow.  Because of the reviews on Yelp, I called Mr. Rooter and spoke to Scott, a project manager.  To their credit, they were on the job in a matter of hours.    They charged me $429 plus tax for the job, what they said they would charge me.    Because of an associated $400 water bill, I pleaded with them to reduce their costs.   No go.

I read Rodney's review and called Good Guy Plumbing, just to see what he normally charges.   $125 plus $50 in parts.

Look, I hate feeling like I've been screwed.  And I can't help but feel screwed.   Mr. Rooter seems to be over charging for the services.  Did I have any issue with their service? No.  They were very professional.  But at twice the price of someone with great reviews, I think you're better off checking out the competition before going with Mr. Rooter at least so that you have some comparison.

Great experience! Ask for Daniel Blake as your technician. He keeps the work area immaculate, he is very polite, and extremely good at what he does.

Our second floor shower was leaking down to the first floor, soaking the dry wall in the ceiling. We called Mr. Rooter and they dispatched a technician within an hour.  The technician explained the pricing up front before starting any work. After he opened the ceiling and diagnosed the problem, he told exactly how much the fix would cost.

He explained each step of the process to us and had the whole thing fixed in a few hours. It required more work than he originally expected, but he stayed true to the estimate he provided at the beginning.

Few plumbers do drywall repair work in addition to the plumbing work. While this was a separate charge from the pipe repair, Daniel did a fantastic job restoring the ceiling drywall to like-new condition. (He did a much better job than a lot of professional drywall repair guys would do.)

Mr. Rooter may not be the least expensive bid you'll get, but they stand behind their work and they are super easy to work with. And don't forget to ask for Daniel!

(Also, Mr. Rooter happily accepts all credit cards, which seems to be unusual on the Seattle plumbing scene.)

When my hot water tank was leaking from the bottom, I called around and ask for price estimate. Most places I called was just told me they have to sent someone out to look at it and there will be a mandatory charge even if I end up not hiring them for service. Until I called Mr. Rooter, the lady at their customer service desk was very patient. Even though they cannot quote me an exact price without looking at the problem. But she's able to listen to me and explained what the cost could be. The technician came first thing in the morning, he was friendly and very professional. Within the next day, I have my new water tanker installed. Few months later, my neighbor told me that they were concern about my water pipe outside is dripping occasionally. I decided to call Mr. Rooster for help. Again, they are supper helpful. They came right away and ends up everything is fine and normal. The occasional water drip is absolutely normal and that's what it does to prevent over pressure. Totally a fault alarm. They didn't charge me a single dime for the service call at all.

I'm impressed with Mr Rooter work. The young man that came to my house, Shamier(Sean) was very knowledgable and did all he could to free my sewer line. It was tougher than expected, and he had to get a 'jetted' to clean the line and get things working again. It was on a Friday night that I called, and they were there the next day.
They weren't cheap, but the price was fair, especially all the work that was performed.

Now, I may be a bit biased because I've never had to deal with a plumber before but Mr. Rooter Plumbing did a fantastic job for us.  We discovered a slow but steady leak in our home only after the paint starting falling off one of our walls.  I freaked out knowing how bad water can be to a home so I called up and spoke to their dispatcher Stacy.  She was nice but sounded very tired.  But I did call at 11pm and I was pretty tired myself.  She scheduled me for 8am the next morning.

About 10 minutes later, I started to see water pooling up in our carpet so I quickly called her back and she sent Daniel Blake over to our place.  Daniel came out and assessed the situation for us and stopped the leak at it's source.  Mind you, this took about three hours but Daniel was perhaps the nicest plumber out there.  He was professional, courteous, and very well informed.  Daniel took the time to educate me and tell me things about my radiant heating system, pipes and even what he was using and how he was going to stop it.

Daniel didn't leave until 3am and had to be back at work at 7am.  He never complained and he didn't rush the job at all.  I hope I never have to call a plumber again, but if I do, I will definitely call Mr. Rooter Plumbing and ask for Daniel.  They didn't charge us extra for after hours service calls like others do.  And at $400 for the whole visit, I felt it was a fair amount given the time and work put into solving our problem.  I'm sure I could maybe find another plumber who charges less, but I have my insurance to cover it and I prefer solid professionalism over someone who's looking to get in and get out as fast as they can.

Michael was prompt and worked quickly. He took the time to talk me through what he was doing, shared his knowledge with me, and worked with me to finish off the project the way we wanted. His work area was left clean, and I sleep better at night knowing the project was done right the first time.

He was upfront and honest about the whole project and the final cost so there were no surprises when it came time to settle the bill. We have already recommend him to a friend. Thank you!

Scott, our technician was very knowledgeable and competent.  He performed the service on our furnace in short order.  My only reservation was the amount that we were charged for a relatively small, relatively easy plumbing job we told them about when we placed the order for service.  The charge seemed very high for the work performed, but not so much that we didn't have Scott just quoting what we was supposed to charge for the job.

Okay, it's expensive. To be fair, I have no other plumbing costs with which to compare; $436 for replacing tits-up thermostats on my water heater just seems like a lot. But, what can I do? I needed hot water! And guess what? Unlike the Capitol Hill-based plumber I found online, these guys were actually available on the weekend. I can't wait until Monday for hot water!

And the guy who came was very friendly, professional, helpful, and fixed the problem in less than two hours. Honestly, that made the cost worth it. Plus he applied a coupon they offer online even though I did not have it printed out. Fifty bucks off is better than nothing! If I ever have a plumbing problem again, these guys are the ones I will be calling.

Our business needed a plumber on short notice on a Sunday afternoon. I knew this would be neither a.) nor b.) cheap. But after doing some research I called Mr. Rooter. They had a plumber at our place within 90 minutes. It turned out to just be a clogged drain, but one that had been building for a while. We got quoted a flat rate, with no extra charge for Sunday. He kept us appraised of his progress, and in the end he lowered the rate slightly since it turned out to be an easier job than he expected, but it still came to nearly $500 when all was said and done. He was also very professional, polite and friendly.

I'm sure we could have gotten a lower rate with a little more shopping, but as an earlier poster said: If you're calling a plumber, odds are you don't really have time to comparison shop.

I have used Mr. Rooter plumbing before and they have done a great job again.  I highly recommend Mr. Rooter plumbing for your household needs.  The first time I used them for a normal plugged kitchen sink.  This time my outside faucet wasn't working because the anti syphon thingy was broken and water was spraying all over the place.

Thier plumber Tom came out and qickly assessed the situation, proposed a solution and then fixed my faucet.  He was so nice, super respectful of my home and did a wonderful job.

Mr. Rooter is my plumber of choice and I will definitly use them again.

Summary: Broken promises, unprofessional service, and 2 days without sewer.

A week ago all of our home's plumbing backed up...an obvious main line issue. It was Saturday, so I called around to different plumbers, each of which told me it would be at least 3 hours before they could make it out to me. Finally I happened upon Mr. Rooter, and after a quick call, I was promised that someone would be to my house with a sewer scope (camera) in 1 hour! Finally I can relax, I thought. But after an hour and a half, the story changed.

It was now after 5pm and when I called again, I was answered with a somewhat drunken sounding ....hullo...??. Odd, I thought, but after confirming that it was in fact Mr. Rooter, I asked where the technician was. After a few minutes of bumbling around, the dispatcher told me that it would be about 3 more hours! I was obviously a bit put off by this, so I asked why that was the case, to which she told me that they only have one technician working and he is in Olympia. Having already waited this long, I decided to stick it out. I know that things happen, so I was willing to let this slide. So I waited.

Come 8pm and a technician named Bal was at my door, complaining about his long day. He looked around for about 30 minutes and finally quoted me a price on what it would take to cable my line. I asked about the camera and he informed me that he didn't have a camera, which made the entire house call pointless. He told me that he would get someone out to me first thing in the morning named Tom Jones. He then promised that he would call me within 20 minutes to confirm that they would make it out the next morning and left. Of course, that call never came, but again, I didn't really expect it to. I was willing to let it slide. So I called the dispatcher again, and was answered by the same ....hullo...??, and finally after confirming that it was in fact Mr. Rooter, confirmed that my appointment was set for the first thing in the morning. Of course we couldn't stay in our home that night, so we moved out for the night.

The next morning I got a call letting me know that Tom Jones was not going to be able to make it out to my house, so there wasn't anything they could do. I was beginning to feel less okay about the situation. I was now a full day into not having sewer and didn't seem to be any closer. After talking with the new dispatcher (who was far more professional than the girl on the phone the night before), I decided I was going to go to Home depot and rent my own sewer scope. Low and behold, on my way there, I was called and told that they magically had a camera at their disposal now and someone would be on their way to my house within the hour. The dispatcher also told me that she was going to have a manager call me the next day to make this situation right, which I appreciated the thought of, but which never ended up happening (still). So I waited and finally, two hours later, Chris showed up.

Chris was seemingly a bit under the weather, something he attributed to the night before, but he did his job and confirmed that our main line had collapsed and pointed out where the issue was. I appreciated Chris' work, but sadly it was too little, too late.

So again, if you are looking to get your plumbing fixed and have days to spend, don't mind consistent broken promises, and lackluster service, then Mr. Rooter might just be for you. Myself, I will take my business elsewhere and make sure that others I care about do the same.

Who gets excited about plumbing?  I don't, but I do about great service!

Our company moved into a new to us office space at the beginning of the year and had to replace the urinal.  We called Mr Rooter, after finding them on yelp, and was lucky enough to be teamed up with Jayson B.  He was knowledgeable, courteous and worked hard to make sure the job was done right.

The important things: He gave us a quote and he stuck to it.  Even though there were issues behind the wall and things didn't line up, we paid what he told us we would pay.  To make sure it was done right, he even called in another expert in the industry (I am sorry I forgot his name!) and they worked for HOURS to make it right.  Also, he said he would follow up and he did.

I highly recommend them and the next time we need a plumber for either work, or my home, I am going to call them.  You should too.

Never on time or even close! They gave me a two-hour timeframe and it's two hours beyond that and they are still not here! This is the second time they are extremely LATE!! Who wants to wait the entire day for a plumber to arrive? They keep saying half an hour longer, etc, but it's  over two hours longer. VERY UNHAPPY AND WILL NEVER USE MR. ROOTER AGAIN!!! EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE! Aside from this, they installed a new faucet and the handle broke off after six months. Instead of fixing it for free, they tried to sell me another one. Not my idea of a warranty. They did end up fixing the broken one but after I wasted my entire day waiting.

I am in town to help my  sister who just had a heart valve replaced and was returning home.  She needed a plumber to fix her shower, cold water only, no hot.  After days of calling around I found Mr. Rooter.  They were able to send people, Dale and Dennis, out right away.  They were great!!!  Informed me of what was going on, gave a fair estimate in spite of some additional problems kept to it and took care of the problem.  They were nice, personable, left everything clean and were downright professional.   Use them!!!!!

Thinking about my sewage pipes really stresses me out.  Not only are they out of site and filled with nastiness, they run under my neighbor's driveway and by a willow tree...so I can imagine all kinds of expensive worst cast scenarios, not helped by the horror stories of my fellow homeowners.  When my pipes began backing up, and making awful gurgling noises, calling Mr. Rooter was a very good idea (thanks Linda L.) that alleviated my worries.

My call was received by a very cheerful woman, even though it was 7:30 on a Monday morning.  I had to be at work by 12:30, and they were able to send someone out before 10.  The fellow they sent out, Dave, was helpful, friendly and explained everything thoroughly.  He was able to get the clog out of the pipes on the third try (using a crazy trick with a glove), and then gave me a tour of my pipes using the camera thingy.  This was great, because he was able to crush my concerns about the willow tree (pipes are lined and look great out there) and where there were a tiny bit of roots coming into the back yard, he gave me clear advice on how to treat it simply and inexpensively.

He also gave me other good pieces of advice:
1) lose the hot water tank blanket...the money it saves in heating is lost in early water tank replacement due to condensation build up.  He said in the business they call them death blankets.
2) I don't need the styrofoam caps for my outside faucets...the type I have are frost-proof, and only require that the hoses are removed in winter.

And he took a minute to cut down the long screws the last plumber left on my toilet for the floor guy!

Overall, Mr. Rooter was not cheap...but well worth the money spent for good quality work, quick turn around, and really super customer service.

Pros: Works on Sundays and had a quick time from first call to the plumbers showing up. Were quick, friendly and efficient and tried to keep things clean. They provide a fixed fee rather than an hourly rate for their jobs (see cons).

Cons: Higher prices than others--by a fairly significant margin. Tried to sell an add-on package for the promise of longer-term discounts. Wouldn't tell me a possible range of fees beforehand or a typical job cost over the phone.

This was a much nastier job than either Tim or I realized.  I called because a bathroom sink had stopped draining, and after trying a few things (chemicals, hot water, hair removal tool, a pressurized drain blaster) and nothing worked.  Tim tried a small power snake, broke it but managed to get it out with some evidence that suggested a rat was in the pipe.  Tim then tried a bigger power snake and managed to disintegrate the rat and clear the pipe, but it was a very unpleasant experience for him.

Tim was great to work with, and I hope he doesn't have another experience like today for a long, long time.

After recently purchasing a new house we knew the water heater in the house was old and in need of being replaced. We decided to hold off until after the remodeling was completed.

Anyway I did some research into various plumbers and decided to go with Mr Rooter in the end. The decision was helped in that the price was reduced to member rate given all the work they has done as part of the remodel work.

James was the plumber who came to complete the job and I have to say he is efficient at his work and maintains high standards. The job was done in about an hour and now I have fresh hot water in a new high efficiency tank with all new pipes and valves and a thermal expansion tanks all up to current code. Old water tank was taken away to be disposed with (good riddance!).

I have to say I was very impressed with the quality of service and look forward to several years of continuous hot water.

Mr Rooter plumbing are in my eyes very easy to work with and even call you up to let you know that there will be delays before the agreed time window.

When I finally get round to remodeling my kitchen I will be sure to call these guys up again for the work.

I called them for our water heater tank emergency on Sunday night around 11pm. the guy arrived in 30-40min after the call. He checked what is wrong with our water heater and gave us recommendation and price.
He had to go get a new water heater from the warehouse so he left for another 30-40 but he started to work right away.
He worked from 2am through 5am. I was pretty impressed with how dedicated this guy was to do a good work.
He told me that labor fee is about $650 to install new heater and replacement is $1300. I think the water heater price is higher than other places I have looked at. But I paid extra $250 to get 10 year warranty on the tank and labor. So, I am set for next 10 years if anything happens to my water heater!

This is probably the best place to call for emergency cuz I was not charged with any after hour price. I was also impressed with efficiency of work. There was no time wasted.

CALL THEM!!! :D

My wife and I recently moved into our first home that we have bought. The sink in the kitchen had been slow to drain and got clogged after a month. I tried to get help from a local Renton plumber (he who shall not be named) and he was garbage. Mr. Rooter easily unclogged my kitchen sink line that was backing up into my tub. This was such a source of anxiety for a week or so. Nate Cervantes was the technician. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and worked clean. He even cleaned up some of the mess the previous guy made a week before. $607 to use a snake with a water jet tip to dislodge all the gunk from the previous resident (and the remaining few straws we placed on the camel's  back.) I cook every night, so this was super important and nerve wracking to me. It was a lottle pricey, but worth it to me. The last guy failed to unclog the pipes and suggested a $1400 repipe, and that didn't include having to close the wall back up. That was after 30 minutes of getting nowhere. Nate is a gem and deserves a raise. Thank you so much!

Our water heater was broken on Saturday.  After calling Mr. Rooter, we had a service technician, Mr. Mohammad Bagheri, came to our door promptly.  He removed our broken boiler, cleaned up the flooded area, then installed a new water heater.  He was very professional and answered all my questions during the installation.  He spent a good amount of time to ensure the job was done right and told me to call him if I had any questions.  Two days later, the furnace beside the water heater stopped working. I thought it was related to the new boiler and called Mr. Bagheri.  He came at night after his work and nicely resolved the problem even it turned out to be an independent issue. I was very satisfied with his work and will definitely call Mr.Rooter and Mr. Mohammad Bagheri for any future plumbing needs.

I had a scare this afternoon when I thought I had cracked the sewer pipe while digging up an old perennial in my flowerbed. Called Mr. Rooter and first thing I said was this wasn't an emergency but I'd appreciate someone coming out as soon as possible. I was told that the visit would cost $39. Ken got to my house just after an hour, took a look and said that the pipe in question was a drainage pipe from my gutter, so by accidentally making a small crack it I had effectively created irrigation for my flower bed! I then asked Ken to investigate the source of a weird roar in the guest bathroom whenever the toilet in the master bathroom was flushed. He patiently checked it out for 10 minutes, identified the sound as coming from the vent system, and said he wouldn't worry about it unless the toilet downstairs started to back up. When I said I was going to grab my checkbook, Ken said it was all free of charge because he was just 8 miles away.

I can't thank Mr. Rooter enough for their wonderful and efficient service! Will definitely use them for REAL plumbing problems!

I want to start by saying that we have had a plethora of contractors do work for us over the past 25 years. In my 25 years, I can only count on one hand the amount of contractors that have provided me with good service. I understand that something always comes up and mistakes are made by all contractors and subs. What makes a good company is how they handle the situation through communication, solutions and follow through. I had a scheduling error when I made my appointment through Mr. Rooter. I immediately, contacted another company to come out and pick up the pieces. However, I received a call from Management at Mr. Rooter, they apologized and sent someone right out to address my plumbing issue. Trevor and Danny arrived and they were courteous, professional, knowledgeable and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. They explained the job, the cost and if something deviated from the original bid they walked me through the process. I am in the hospitality business, it's what I do. With the level of service that I received from Trevor, I would be happy to have him work on my team. A job well done by owner Vinnie Sposari. Great job at empowering your team to make customer service your number one priority!

I called with a couple of issues at our new home that we purchased and had just moved into.  The cold water faucet had a leak when the water was turned on, so the seal on the faucet was bad.  I also needed a kitchen faucet installed and my icemaker line fixed.

Corey kept me informed on the time the technician would show up and Dale called letting me know he was on his way.  All great at this point.  They showed up and he looked at the washer box and said he had to replace the entire box ($361); however, I was adamant about the seal on the faucet.  He saw my frustration and told his associate to go get a couple of pairs of channel locks.  After a little work, the leak was stopped and he came to tell me he had good news.  That is one way to make me think the he was on my side.

We went to the faucet installation at the kitchen sink and his iPad App came up with a number of $261 to put the faucet in.  I thought it was pretty outrageous; however, I was not feeling well and we needed it done so he had to solder a new peach where the ice maker would be hooked up.  Afterwards, he mentioned that he didn't charge me for the ice maker line or the work downstairs and followed that up with the fact that he will not be warrantying that work.  The catch!  If they start leaking, they are off the hook.

At one point, his apprentice had to run to Home Depot to get a part and he told me how green this person was that he was training.  It took 30 minutes for him to find the part and return.  (Usually a 15 minute trip)

In any event, our problems were solved but feel the only real work that is warrantied is the faucet itself and the rest was fixed but may fail.  I was not in a very good place and did not have a great feeling once they left.

Hit and miss on this company.

Moved in to our Queen Anne house on Memorial Day. Turned on the shower and discovered a significant water leak. Called Mr Rooter because they say in their ad on KIRO-TV (Channel 7) that they don't charge extra for evening, weekend or holiday service. Dale arrived promptly, put on shoe covers and quickly found a leaky shower valve. He fixed it in less than 30min and charged me less than half of what I expected.

Dale was professional, pleasant, and honest. Told me it wasn't a big deal and said his work would be guaranteed. I would use Mr Rooter again in a heart beat!

Josh. M was very professional and helpful. He arrived on time, determined the problem right away and repaired quickly.

I called about a toilet leak in a condo I currently rent. He got on a phone call multiple times with the condo owner who lives out of town to explain the problem and discuss all the different options to resolve. I really appreciated his patience with this process.

Only downside was service seemed expensive.

I also had a great experience with Mohammad Bagheri and his co-worker.  The first time I met them was fixing a leaking shower in our rental.  They were fast, friendly, and did great work.  They were so polite and talked to me about the work to be performed.  I was so pleased that when I had a tub that needed replacement in our own home, I again called Mohammad.   He and his co-worker, Peiman, installed the tub the right way....with correct parts and water pitch!   Bob Oates previously worked on it and did NOT do a good job.  If you call Mr. Rooter, ask for Mohammad and Peiman!

Why'd they get 2 stars? No-cost, no-obligation in-person guaranteed price, provided quickly despite being near the holiday.

Why didn't they get the other three stars? Because that guarantee was *over three times* the next company's price. $360 to replace a couple angle stops underneath a bathroom sink (a project which takes less than thirty minutes) is shockingly absurd.

I'm afraid I just don't see the point in utilizing their nice quoting process, when their prices are ridiculously uncompetitive. In the end, I went with Button Plumbing, who charged a realistic fee, and fixed my leaking bathtub drain and showed me how to fix leaks in my toilet and faucet at no extra cost.

We had a plumbing emergency Saturday morning and my husband and I worked all Saturday to try to fix it - we were not able to do so. I then started calling plumbers, after a couple calls I just started checking the Better Business Bureau site and reading about the companies. Mr. Rooter had the BEST rating and the BEST for no complaints, or settled complaints. I was thoroughly impressed with the company on paper.

I then connected to Peter through a chat icon on their homepage and he connected me (by phone) to the Seattle office, I spoke with Danielle about 10:30 and she told me that they could have someone here by 12 (on a Sunday morning no less!)! Danielle called me back in about an hour and told me that Dale was on his way.

Dale and Chris showed up within the stated time frame and when we explained the problem and showed them what work we'd already done Dale said that the going price is this amount, but I'll give you this price. We said great! When Dale came back with the paperwork he showed where he'd misquoted us because the prices had just gone up, but he honored his first quote.

That right there was impressive!

Dale and Chris had our system unclogged and running clear in less than an hour, Dale gave us a few tips on the septic system and also explained why we seem to have a repetitive problem with clogging and excess water in the pipe.

I will highly recommend Mr. Rooter to any of my friends and neighbors that need any plumbing help; after a fiasco we had with another plumbing company several years ago we were leery of calling another plumber. I am so glad that we contacted Mr. Rooter, we are so happy with our prompt, friendly, reasonably priced service today!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you Danielle, Dale & Chris!!!

The person who I spoke with on the phone needs a lesson in customer service. I called to report a basement flooding for an unknown reason and inquired about emergency plumbing services. I've never had to call a plumber so I didn't know how a situation like this was usually handled. She made me feel stupid for asking if someone was available to come to the property immediately, and told said we don't have plumbers just sitting around waiting for calls. Thanks. When she told me that she could make an appointment sometime in a 4 hour window about 30 minutes from the time of my call I asked if there were businesses that she was aware of that provided more immediate emergency services or if this was standard (having to schedule an appt). Shitty attitude fully engaged, she told me she didn't know because she'd never worked for any other plumbing companies. Her attitude sucked and she was condescending. If she is at all a reflection of the rest of their team or practices I would take your business elsewhere.

We had a burst water heater pipe that needed immediate attention. Mr.Rooter sent Evans right away in half hour on a Saturday morning. Evans was very polite, corteous and knowledgeable. He gave us different options on how to fix the problem. Upon  checking in with Dave the dispatcher at Mr.Rooters for our credit card payment, he was being rude to Evans. Not only it was unprofessional and disrespectful, it was a total in inconsiderate of him to be rude to someone who was actually doing the actual job and getting dirty fixing it. Dave was just sitting in front of his computer and this type of unprofessionalism and rudeness to coworkers are toxic in anyones business. Next time be kind to people who is actually doing the job. Anyway, Evans did not stop until the problem was fixed and he fixed it good. Took longer than expected but I rather have someone take all the time they want and fix the problem right, than someone who took less time for a poor job. Good job Mr.Rooter for hiring Evans, he is a nice man and an excellent plumber!

I was in a desperate situation a couple years ago in which I needed to replace a water heater that burst.  They made it sound like my water heater type was so unusual and charged me an arm and leg for it, knowing that I needed it changed as soon as possible.  At a later point in time, my mixing valve was failing and Mr. Rooter quoted $1,000 to change out a mixing valve that I had purchased on my own.  I called around and found a more honest plumbing company that charged me just $50.  Mr. Rooter is a RIP OFF.  Just saw another commercial for them on tv which prompted me to write a review that is 2 years overdue.

Dale was absolutely AWESOME!!! Explained what he found, the needed fix and was able to get the job done in a professional and timely manner. Know that the job would have taken me 3x the amount of time at an attempted fix. Glad not to have spent any time under the house. Cost worth the anguish.

I requested to have my sump pimp checked out. They sent someone who didnt know anything about sump pumps. He dug my septic tank access and left a mess. He then asked for another technician to come out. The next plumber was nice and polite and apologized for the mistake earlier. He cleaned up the mess and i have him a small tip. They ended up waiving my travel charge because of the incident.

I called Mr Rooter on Sunday August 28th to schedule a shut off valve, supply line, and fill valve replacement for my toilet at one of my rental properties.  Ronda was very nice and scheduled it for the next day between 9:00 and 1:00.  The next day I got a call from dispatch around 11:17 informing me that they are running behind and probably won't be out for another two hours.  I then received another call at approximately 1:50pm stating they won't be out at all to fix my toilet.  After talking with dispatch he assured me they would send someone over at 9:00 on Tuesday.  I spoke to Phil about the repairs being made to my toilet and asked how much it was going to cost and when he said it was going to be $690.00 I just about lost it!  I said there is no way I'm going to pay that much to do a relatively minor repair.  I explained it to him this way: A new toilet would cost roughly 100.00 with everything in it including the wax ring, a new shut off valve is about 10 to 20 bucks, supply line 10.00, fill valve 10.00, labor about 1hr ( even though it would take him only 15 minutes to do the repairs).  Even if they charged for a service call and labor that would not justify the amount.  Phil then responded and said that he just goes on what the book tells him to charge  I again said there is no way I am paying that much at which then Phil responded and asked how much were you thinking about paying?  I told him that I would only pay around $300.00 and that is including the $50.00 off they credited me for not showing up on Monday.  The end result was $350.72 without my 50.00 credit because was told I couldn't use it because he was already giving me half off!  I will never use this company ever again!  Horrible service, dishonest pricing.

The line to my septic broke and dirty water was flowing out onto my back yard. I called Mr. Rooter and Sean came out speedy quick. Other plumbing companies I called were booked three days out, but Mr. Rooter was available same-day. Sean was very friendly and worked late to fix the problem so we could use the plumbing at night. Thank you!

My shower faucet in my upstairs bathroom had a slow leak which I didn't notice until the drywall started to bulge.  It was a tiny leak but then got worse.  I called Mr Rooter on a Saturday and was told they could have a tech come down to between 3 and 5 pm.  I got a call back and said they had a tech that could come around 1 pm.  Chris showed up and found that a new cartridge needed to be replaced on my Moen faucet.  He quoted the amount for the service.  They charge by the job to be done, not by the hour.  Good thing because the city had to be called in to shut off the water from the meter.  I have an older home and I don't have a main valve in the house.  Chris didn't want to take a chance with the valve since it is an older one so he called the City of Seattle to come turn off the water.  Well it took almost two hours for them to come and shut off the water.  Anyway, once the water was off Chris had a problem taking the cartridge off and it took awhile.  Once he was able to remove the old cartridge it was fixed pretty quick.  Chris was friendly and courteous.  I would use their services again if I should ever need a plumber.

Plumber did a great job clearing our drain today. However, I'm concerned about Mr. Rooter's policy for handling credit cards. It may not be PCI Compliant due to the writing down of credit card numbers as notes in plain text on iPads. I raised this concern with customer service today.

My bathtub had some issue, drain connecting to the sink was oddly making any water from the sink show up in the bathtub. The plumber who had came did some sort of drilling a cable line down the pipe to remove any sort of thing that may have clogg it. He finished the job within 45 minutes. Not much to say servicve was good, the plumber who came to my house was nice and friendly, very professional. But to me honestly for a person who lived in a seaction 8 housing 340$ for was the service was too expensive. That is all Icould say for now. I don't really have a problem just the price is all.

My overall feeling left me unsatisfied.  I used an awesome plumber to do some work on my house a year ago, but he lives in Bremerton and needs some lead time to schedule.  I called these guys in a pinch for a backed up drain line (emergency call on a weekend).  I did some snaking/rooting on my own before they arrived.  I called at 230 and was told they would be here between 3-5.  I had friends coming into town and plans for the evening so I thought that was good.

He showed up at 5:45 and then the fun begins.  He did a quick look for free and then said that he couldn't give me an estimate to fix the problem without actually doing some work that they price by the job.  He offered to snake the main drain from the sump for one price (we're talking $380ish just to do that: no camera, no guarantees that would fix anything.  I was told if that didn't fix it he could do the laundry line that fed into the main drain for an additional fee.  We're over $500 in at the estimate time just to do some speculating and exploring.  I tell him no thanks.  That's just too high.  So he negotiates a combo deal to do both for the cost of the first.  That's still high but I didn't want raw sewage coming out anymore.  He roots em, clears nothing, and I get charged $380 for pretty much nothing.  Left me feeling unsatisfied.  He did install a p-trap, which was quick and done right, but at $157 that was expensive too.

He left and left the water line to my washer off but did come back of his own accord after remembering on his way home.

They will come in a hurry, but you will pay out the nose.  They were willing to negotiate a bit, but I won't use them again.  Not because of their skills, but their prices.

Update. I was contacted by management who was appropriately concerned about my review. They felt they could do more to assist me. They sent a man with a camera who did a great job showing me the problems I have and then scheduled a follow up with their underground manager to lay out some of my options. They also refunded some of my initial costs from my first visit. I was still a bit confused as to some of my options and feel that the price is still very high to remedy my problem. I have other quality plumbers coming to provide an estimate and if they are still ballpark ill come back and bump these guys up a notch. The second guy I had come out was honest and very good. The third was a little confusing and abrupt. Overall I feel the company has the resources and the intention to kick butt but pricing and some of my interactions have been a bit off. Kudos to Robert for making some of the initial bad taste go away.

Mr. Rooter sent out a technician within 90 minutes of our call, gave a free on-site estimate, and had our drain unplugged within minutes (which had backed up both the kitchen sink and the bathtub). So why only two stars? Just after he gave us an estimate of $339 (with 30-day warranty), I received a call from another plumber (John, at 'Good Guy Plumbing') who offered to clear the drain for only $125. In response, Mr. Rooter offered to match the price. But why wouldn't Mr. Rooter give us that price to start with? Grumble, grumble... Bottom line? At least get a quote from Good Guy Plumbing to keep your plumber in-line with decent pricing.

I am writing my second review as a story after the first. After i wrote my review, i got  some phone calls from mr rooter's service manager. He wanted to make things straight. I agreed to have his senior technitian at our house as he offerred. Saturday morning at 8:45am for 9:30am appointment. The same technitian showed up. He looked confuse. I explained what i was offerred.  He made a phone call to his office and took off. I got another phone call from a dispatcher lady and told me there was a confusion. I made another appointment for after 1pm. A field supervisor/manager came and offered to fix the galvanized pipe that got a hole from the last procedure. He fixed for free and took off. We felt better with the repaired pipe, but i was wondering if the $500 charge included the expectation the possible repair.. Thanks for the repair, though.

i have called mr. rooter in the past for an estimate when i was remodelling my bathrooms and ran into some problems.  we were able to fix the issue at that time but the tech was super nice and didn't push to do the work.  so when i really needed a plumber, i called these guys again. the toilets that are back to back in the upstairs bathrooms were both clogged and hubby's effort to snake resulted in 1 broken toilet.

randy arrived in 30 minutes and was friendly and professional.  he looked around, created an estimate (including deducting $50 for a coupon they had out at the time) and set to work.  he explained why hubby was never going to be able to snake the toilet drain properly (no camera attached to the snake he rented) but at no time did he make him feel inadequate.  on the contrary, randy told him it happens all the time and that he himself had done it before.

in the end, he reduced the fee because it took him less time than he thought it would.  he then explained that we needed to replace the toilets and made some recommendations.  he couldn't match the price of kohler toilets from lowes, so he just looked at the specs to make sure they would be good for our plumbing.

i highly recommend these guys!

This company is a complete rip off!!! RUN.. Do not call them for help they will rob you blind.

I had them come out to a rental property for a clogged sewer line.  The Technician showed up to work with my female renter.  He quoted her over $800 to clean the lines.  When she called me i told her that was extremely expensive for a simple snake job.   I spoke to the guy on the phone and he quickly dropped the price by $300.  Way to try to take advantage of the female customers!!!!!   He spent about an hour in the house and left.  The same night when the washing machine was ran, the problem was still there.  After calling them to come back, they actually went under the house to address the situation properly.   The new guy said there was a broken y under the house.   Well those just do not break, but oh well.   He then informed my he needed another $1200 dollars to fix the problem.   That is a total of $1200 to fix a $13 part and about 30 minutes worth of work.  On top of the $550 i already paid. There are many other companies out there.  I called these guys in a pinch, NEVER again.  It is cheaper to wait for my regular plumber and pay for a hotel for the tenants if there is a next time.

I was in need of a plumber for a leak in a faucet bringing hot water to the washing machine.  I was able to choose the time of the visit during the day which happened the same day of my call. Tom was on time.  He did what he could to avoid bigger reparations and costs but in the end, he had to replace the faucet system.  I was not charged for the first visit.  He came back the day after (still on time) to  make the repair and did excellent work.  I highly recommend this company.

My small backyard sump pump was running for hours and smoking, so I called Mr. Rooter to have someone come out and take a look. They gave me a window of time (12-2) and I was pleasantly surprised that the plumber came toward the beginning of that window. The plumber arrived, was quite nice and got straight to work trying to figure out the problem. As I expected, the motor had burned out and I would need to have the pump replaced. Fair enough. However, when they gave me a quote of $850.00 (!!!), I was floored, knowing as did that a new pump of this size runs about 50 bucks. The most expensive one you can possibly buy is around $150. So that means they were quoting me (at a minimum) $700.00 worth of labor! Are you fn kidding me? The guy who put the original one in took one hour to do it. Is 1 hour of work to replace it worth $700.00? You tell me. Anyway, what a racket. Oh, I forgot to add that when i balked at the quote, the nice plumber guy called his office and got them down to $700 from $850. What a deal! Needless to say, I said thanks no thanks. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

plumbers are pretty boring to write about. but when i needed one fast - due to some nasty ricey water bubbling up through my kitchen drain - i really had no idea where to go.  i've never hired a plumber before and really didn't know how it worked . . . so i got on yelp.  and then felt the need to share as well in case there are any other first time homeowners out there panicking over dirty water bubbling up in their drains.

the first place i called was recommended to me by our property mgr - but they couldn't make it until monday (it was a friday) - and they charged a ton.

so then i called mr. rooter. they could come out almost immediately.  the plumber man - i forget his name - was really nice and professional.  they did charge a lot, but this just seems to be how plumbers roll . . .  he fixed my drain in about 3 hours and was out the door . . . they also give a 6 month guarantee and they'll do a free inspection of your other drains/plumbing if you want it.

oh and note: don't put rice down the drain.  i didn't do it, i swear, it was my neighbor.

Called them to come and take care of a clogged kitchen drain. 45 Minutes later (including the time it took him to come up with the free estimate and chit chat at the end about other free services that we might want) he charged $375 (after the $50 online coupon was applied). All other plumbers rates run about $85 - $150 an hour.
Even if I had gone to work all day I would not have made as much as this guy did in less than 45 minutes. My time would have better been spent waiting for another plumbing service.
Seriously.

One of our very old toilets gave up the ghost and we purchased a new much better one from Home Depot. They gave us the names of three handymen/contractors who were vetted by Home Depot and I called two of them. One never called back and the other said he was booked up through September! So I called Mr. Rooter. I give them a negative mark for the woman answering the phone refusing to give me any idea of what it would cost to replace the toilet, even the repairman/plumber had all of the costs printed out in a binder. She could have easily told us that. They charge you $39 for the service call and if you use their service, then they waive the $39. Its a little sneaky because the plumber is standing there in your house, and even though their cost is much higher than others, you know you'll have to pay the $39 if you send him away without doing the work.

Wayne showed me the printed price for a simple toilet replacement using my own suppleid parts -- it was a staggering $307! The one Home Depot handyman who did call me said he would charge $175 plsu tax -- a huge difference! I pointed that out to Wayne and said there was no way I would pay that much. He was very agreeable and professional, and said he would see what he could do, and placed a call to his boss. We finally settled on $200, including haulaway of our old toilet, down from $225 and no hallway. So it was only $25 more than the handyman said, plus he was here and I wouldn't have to pay the extra $39. Wayne went to work and did a really first rate job of tearing out the old toilet, cleaning out theold wax ring and then replacing it with two wax rings, oen I supplied and one he added, to get it to the proper height. Toilet looks great and works great -- it is a Toto, which Wayne said is top of the line and the one they carry on their trucks, which made me feel as though I had made a good choice.

Called on 10/04 to request their service and asked if they can come on 10/05. They said plumber will show up between 9-Noon and will call 45 minutes before showing up. Still calling... Not only they did not show up, they did not even call to explain no show and/or reschedule. They even had me in their system because I called them in 2006 to get a quote. I used someone else instead back then and I am glad I did. You do realize you are not the only plumbing service out there, right? I guess you don't! Hence, one star.

I called them for a leaking issue my tenants were having. Plumber came out and diagnosed problem but wouldn't start work w/o permission from office. I had a prior bid and asked if they would price match. He said yes but would need copy of bid. I said go ahead & do work. I'll call office immediately (which I did); & send bid.

Jewel, the woman who answered phone gave me their e-mail address as I WAS TYPING IT & I always spell out letters (A as Albert and so on). I sent it. She didn't get it. I called again & had her repeat the e-mail back to me. This time she adds 3 add'l letters. Again I spell out sca-Sierra, Charlie, Alpha & send.  She didn't get.  Repeat process. Discover sca is sea.  Sent & finally rec'd.  Did I mention that the plumber had left the house because Jewel hadn't received my first 2 e-mails?  And my tenant called me after the plumber left and was so not happy because I hadn't given my approval for the work?

Then Jewel asks me for credit card #. I say I would like to be sent an invoice since I only use separate chkg acct for rental property but no credit card (for acctg/tax purposes).  I explained this. Her response we don't do that but you can hand him the check.  Did I say she knew I live in Bellevue, WA & the rental is in Seattle? A long way to hand a check. In total exasperation, I said I would give my credit card # or debit card # or whatever number they wanted.  Jewel expected me to give her the number right then.  I told her I would give it to her WHEN THE WORK WAS COMPLETED.  Who pays in advance for work that hasn't been done? My tenant's spouse had been ill and apparently got worse during time plumber arrived/left.

By this time it's after 3 and Jewel has left the premises (thank God).  I ask to speak to the owner and guess what?  The owner wouldn't speak with me.  I was told (very sternly) by the woman who answered a manager would call me & he wasn't on the premises.  Eventually, he called.  The plumber was going to go back at 9 AM the next morning.  I was so disgusted by this time I said I didn't know if I wanted them to come back and would let them know in the AM.  Later in evening, I wrote an e-mail to the owner explaining all the mishap w/his employee & so on and said I would appreciate if the plumber would be there at 9 AM.  Tenant calls.  No there.  I call Mr. Rooter & much to my dismay, you-know-who answers the phone.  Incompetent, unprofessional Jewel.  Puts me on hold. Another woman comes to phone & says Mr. Rooter refuses to do the work.  Also, did I mention when Jewel gave me the figure for the work, she didn't do the addition correctly?  What a surprise.

I called another plumber.  This firm has professional (and mature) efficient employees.  I was ready to give them my charge card # on the spot (after the above nightmare) & they said not necessary, wait til the work is finished - Monday's fine!  What a breath of fresh air.  Thank you God.

I had a leak at the base of my very old toilet yesterday (Saturday), and was able to schedule an appointment for today (Sunday), between 11 and 3. By 2:30 I hadn't heard anything and so called to make certain that they had my correct contact info. Vivienne answered and was very pleasant and professional. She verified my contact info, explained that a previous job had taken much longer than expected, apologized for the delay, and promised. to call when the plumber left the other job.  True to her word, she did. The plumber, Mark P., arrived only a little later than promised, was extremely pleasant and professional, and was able to not only find the problem, but quickly and cheerfully switched out my old toilet for a new water-efficient model that I had purchased. He was very quick and cleaned everything up beautifully when he was done. Although it's now just after the job has been completed, I was struck by how cheerful, polite and professional everybody was, and wanted to express my appreciation for a job well done.

I give 5 stars to the plumber they sent me - Baldemar - who was professional and stayed until the job was finished.  It took 4 attempts to clear a drain pipe which was finally successful after a few hours!  Very polite and pleasant which goes a long way.

I give 2 stars for the pricing.  Expensive, but $100 cheaper than the other guys and I was desperate so no time to shop around.  I'd rather pay a little more for someone who cares about what they are doing and is willing to finish the job after hours than deal with idiots.  There are a lot of those...

Mr Rooter is an extremely unethical company with dubious business practices. We had them come out to do some repair work and we were given one estimate by one manager and then a few hours later another manager threatened to stop the work unless we paid them more money and even after than during the final repair work they hounded us for even more money. Please stay away from this unscrupulous company - they only exist to take advantage of you.

Be very careful before signing a contract. I had a serious plumbing project and Mr. R charged me for not fulfilling their job, they use illegal materials and overcharge 100%. Call the city and go over the contract to make sure they are not dubious regarding materials including ensure if they touch your sewer they call your public works. Angie's list is much more reassuring!

$410 for 30 minutes of work, that is with their $25 coupon. First, they do not tell you any price over the phone except the $40 they will charge just for a visit and estimate (it is $380 flat rate as the cheapest by the way). The guy that came out was very professional and nice and had good service, although he showed up 30 minutes outside the 2 hour window they gave me. I had a grease clog about 40 feet into my pipe. He snaked it and then told me it would take a power jet wash (or something like that) to really fix it since he just punched a hole through it. Apparently, that is not included in the $410 price and it would cost an additional $600 (he did provide me a discount at $350 since I used their service). If I am charged over $400 I want the problem fixed, not just a temporary fix. I did not get their power wash since I am a teacher and cannot afford these prices. Needless to say, I am not satisfied. Way, way, overpriced. I can rent the same snake they used for $60 a day. Oh yeah, he broke 2 of my glasses and I did not receive any compensation for it.

Mr. Rooter is our go to whenever we need a plumber. They are prompt, do great work, and the guys they send out are always really nice. Their prices are very reasonable and their customer service is the best. I would never call anyone else!

We knew we had a leak given our crazy high water bill, but did not know where to start. Mr. Rooter came out within 2 hours on a Saturday, found the leak and solved the problem! If I ever need a plumber again I will definitely call Mr. Rooter! Thank you, Phil, for your quick and helpful service!

Had  Mr. rooter come out to fix a leaking toilet. The plumber was on time and did a fantastic job. The customer service was awesome and very refreshing to find someone who will go the extra mile. Thank you, Kevin!  Definitely on the top of my list.

Vinnie runs a tight ship - from top to bottom with an efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. His crew of plumbers are stellar. I have called upon their expertise many times and have yet to experience even a hint of any disappointment. They have always been on time, with excellent work and service - AND they cleaned up the work area better than when they found it. I am confident in them and refer them oftem to my friends and family.

Mr. Rooter has consistently provided good and timely service for my family. Earlier today they fixed a badly clogged sink. Previously they helped me with drainage problems. I've had good luck with all of their technicians, and the guy who helped me today, Baldemar Miranda, was also very good.

I had an emergency sewer line break and back up. When I called, Mr. Rooter sent a plumber out within 2 hours. When he was unable to remedy the problem that day, the manager gave me a huge refund and a discount on my next visit. He guaranteed that his loyal customer of 15 years would remain so. Mr. Rooter rocks!

Worst service ever ...original appt was to be 12-2pm Wednesday ..kept moving out and even missed a time by over  an hour...I had to call them. They finally showed up at 10am Thursday - $900 to fix a toilet leak and an outside faucet - today the toilet started leaking.  And again they were to be here between 4 and 6 pm....just got a call about another emergency - supposed to be here around 9pm tonight ....$900 and one item still not fixed and I am not important as a customer to have a plummer out to correct the original job...do not use this company

These guys really came through for us.  We forgot to disconnect the garden hoses from our two outside faucets during this Dec '09 deep freeze and today we paid the price.  One of the faucets cracked and blew, water spewing all over the driveway this afternoon.  Good news is there was no water damage inside.  Bad news was that we had to shut off the main valve and hope to get a plumber on very short notice and not get ripped off in the process.  Thanks to Yelp reviews we called these guys.  Two hours later a very friendly, very professional plumber was explaining our problem, the solution and the cost.  Of course it was more than we wanted to pay.  But like another reviewer, I was glad to see it was a set price, not a random number he pulled out of his head knowing we were desperate.  He hooked us up with a few available discounts and cheerfully went to work in the 20 degree weather.  After fixing the faucet that had cracked and installing an inside shut off valve for it, he inspected the other outside faucet and free of charge, used his blow torch to warm it up enough to disconnect the frozen hose and confirm that the faucet didn't seem damaged.  Gave us a few pointers about our hot water heater along the way.  All told we dropped $750--half of it necessary to fix the busted faucet and half for deciding to go ahead and install an inside shut off valve.  These guys back up their work with a very solid warranty.   We probably could have gotten the job done cheaper if we'd had time to shop around, but probably not with the same level of professionalism.  Of course I didn't like having to spend our Xmas flat screen money on a plumbing emergency today.  But I *really* liked finding a plumber here on Yelp who was so incredibly professional, skilled, and able to answer every dumb question we asked with a smile.

We just moved into our new/older house and had problems from the first day.  We called Mr. Rooter Plumbing, servicing King & Snohomish Counties. They were here the same day with an estimate, next morning they had the permit needed from the city and started working.  We had a major sewer line issue and he (Henry) told us what needed to be done to fix it right.  We had other plumbers the weeks before, they would work and charge us, and we still had the same problem a couple days later.  I'm not sure what it would have cost to have some other company do what they did, but I know this ... You get what you pay for! Problem solved!! Thank you Henry and your coworker for doing such a professional job. Left everything just as it was, minus one huge bush out front that was part of the trouble and our pipes flowing freely!  We will call again if we are ever in need of a plumbing issue, big or small.

Having used Mr. Rooter Plumbing in the past for minor drain cleaning, it was an easy choice of who to call when it was time to move my business and have the plumbing hooked up to the city main.  Two technicians arrived onsite to show us exactly what needed to be done and exactly what it would cost.  After we gave our authorization, the techs began working on what would turn into a nightmare-ish project.  They worked hours upon hours upon hours to take care of my building and have me up and running for the city inspection.  It turns out the city plumbing was a bit more difficult underground than previously thought but the technicians never waivered.  The worked tirelessly and carefully and kept us apprised the entire time.  Our price never changed despite the fact it turned out to be more complicated than originally thought (thank you, City of ____).  There is no other plumbing company I would use or recommend, ever!  When it comes to plumbing, Mr. Rooter is my guy!
