I called Mirsky's when we were having an electricity crisis at our house. For two winters we had issues with flickering lights, and had a different electrician come out and try to fix things with no luck.

So one night, it was like a full-on poltergeist at our house, lights flickering and electricity surging in ways we didn't even know was possible. We didn't know whether we should be laughing or be very afraid. So I called and left messages for a couple of different electricians.

Matt at Mirsky's called me back the very next morning (the other electricians didn't call back!). He told me they were booked out for two weeks, but that based on what I told him was happening, that I should call Seattle City Light and have them come out. I told him that they had already come out, but he told me to have them come out AGAIN. Best advice I could have gotten! I called Seattle City Light and explained what was going on. They came out within the hour, and found something wrong with one of the outside connections! The first time they came it was at night in bad weather, and somehow they missed it. I am so grateful for Matt at Mirsky's and his know-how, and for his taking the time to call me back. Next time we have an electrical job to get done, I know who I'm calling!

Mirsky is so professional, very organized and reliable and will be my go to place if I ever need any help related to electric problems!

I recently had a rental property that required some help/minor fixing..and it took me forever to find someone who can help me do the job. Being a landlord from a far distance, it was quite difficult to find any place that is on top of things in every way such as prompt and professional in communications, organized and reliable, and simply have customer experience in mind to do the job. Many places I contacted lacked in one or more or even all areas...and a number of them...really looked at my job at simply too small for them. It was a tough job to find a repair vendor who I could trust to do the job I had...until I found Mirsky.

Throughout the interaction (which by the way was so painless in communications) with Matt @ Mirsky, I was impressed. Matt was prompt in communications, pricing and timing expectations and was simply very organized and professional in every aspect of the process. There was a prompt reply for quoting/setting up appointment, confirming appointment reminder and details, and timely billing process. It was very a painless experience and I was very happy with the process I went through with Mirsky.

In the future, if there's any future electrical needs/work or repair, I would first and foremost pick and trust Mirsky to do the job! Thank you!

I was referred to Mirsky by Dean's Home Repair and I am incredibly happy with the work they did for us.

To set the scene, I am living out of state and our house was going on the market in less than 1 week. We wanted to update some electrical sockets, per recommendations by our home pre-inspection. Matt got me a quote, scheduled an electrician, and Seamus had the work done in that time frame.

They worked with me despite a few setbacks and miscommunications on my part and charged what I believe was a fair price. I was pretty desperate and they could have taken advantage of me--but they didn't, which is also worth mentioning.

We had two ceiling light fixtures that were inoperable so we contacted Mirsky Electric. Arranging a visit from a technician within a reasonable time frame was easy, as was subsequent communication to clarify our needs. Their technician, Mike, arrived right at the start of the scheduled window for the visit and diagnosed the problems with the fixtures quickly and described them clearly. He then replaced one of the fixtures and repaired the other in a short period of time. The whole visit took less than the minimum one hour booking, so no additional hourly payment was necessary. I recommend Mirsky Electric without reservation, they did a great job at a competitive price.

I hired Mirsky Electric for a sizable electrical rewire, panel and service upgrade for my 1950s home. The crew (Grant, Martin, Travis) was very professional, wore masks during customer visits, and kept me apprised of any updates on a regular basis.

Craftsmanship is high with Mirsky. For example, electrical rewiring requires drywall cutting -- Mirsky did the absolute minimum to cut drywall so that I wouldn't have to patch too many pieces.

The rewiring was complex but the crew got it done. Martin and Travis were able to rewire the kitchen to my specification including a 240V 50A stove top and additional romex connections for my vent hood.

The service panel was upgraded and moved to code. Grant even had the foresight to fish a 50A low gauge wire for an electrical vehicle service equipment (EVSE) for charging my electric car. Really superb.

I called up four electricians to give bids on this project. Mirsky's bid was straightforward and transparent. At the end of the project, they came under budget which is phenomenal.

I 100% recommend Mirsky Electric. Smooth sailing with this company.

I really can't recommend them enough. I contacted multiple electricians, and Mirsky was the most responsive and organized, plus the lowest quote!

Matt gave me a quote virtually after I sent him multiple photos of the places where we wanted outdoor outlets put in. We scheduled the electrician, and when the day came, the electrician was on time and got right to work.

I was even more surprised when the final price ended up being less than the already reasonable quote.

This is the second time I've use Mirsky and honestly, I don't know why I'd ever use anyone else. We needed an outlet either de-commissioned or moved to make way for a sliding glass door. They estimated their costs taking into consideration that it might be trickier to do than it looked--the entire room was wired together and having to move the wires below the floor might have been complicated. But it wasn't. And of course my expected costs were half what was estimated. I like that. I don't want to be set up with unrealistic expectations--always best to be pleasantly surprised than the alternative. Nate was our electrician and he did a great job--very considerate of our book cases and he cleaned up perfectly. Matt and his crew always do an excellent job--really good communication and easy to get a quote. Thanks guys!

Mirsky electric installed a new bathroom fan/light/heater unit and a new chandelier, for us. Scheduling their work was smooth and easy with their service manager, Matt. The crew, Nate and Mark were highly skilled, friendly and efficient - and masked the whole time!

When Matt started working on the bathroom fan, he discovered we hadn't purchased the correct unit and so he began working w/Nate on installing the chandelier, while my husband sped down to the plumbing store to exchange the wrong unit for the correct one.

Installation of the chandelier was complicated b/c it had to be hung from a base plate mounted on a vaulted ceiling. The fixture itself hung by chain links and rods and it had to be hung perfectly level. They did a perfect job installing it and the bathroom fan, and left all work areas spotless. We highly recommend Mirsky Electric for any home electrical needs.

Overall OK service. They definitely know how to do electrical related stuff but if you are detail oriented don't expect much from them. I talked to Mirsky over email and explicitly mentioned that I live in a newly painted house and I want the electrician to do a good job when it come to finish and details.

I basically wanted to add two outlets to my bathrooms. Mirsky added the two outlets but the work is not 5 star:

1- The outlet covers do not match my existing screwless Leviton outlets. They just used whatever they had. I don't have super fancy or special outlets. These can be found in any hardware store. So, this is not acceptable to me especially when I'm being charged more than $30 per outlet for material.

2- They routed the wire for one of the outlets off of an existing outlet. When they opened the existing outlet, they caused some minor damage to the dry wall around the outlet. This made a gap around the outlet. So, now I have to patch and paint the gap that they made.

3- On the other outlet, they made a bunch of extra (like 20) poke holes around the new outlets to see where to put it (see the photo below after I changed the covering myself to match the rest) I can understand that poking around is necessary but I do expect some sort of remedy for this. I need to patch and paint myself.

Overall, OK. I've been spending a few hours of my time to buy the correct covers and fix up the remaining issues.

I was impressed by the reviews I read about Mirsky and decided to give them a try - they did not disappoint! Matt made scheduling easy - he responded to my initial email in less than an hour with an estimate and worked me into the schedule more quickly than other companies were able to do the work. He was super responsive, courteous, and helpful throughout the process, and went above and beyond in customer service. I had a few projects in my home which Mirsky worked on - Seamus, Ben, and Grant did outstanding work and were a pleasure to work with. It can be tough to find good contractors these days, and I would not hesitate to recommend Mirsky for electrical work.

Mirsky is great! I've worked with them twice now and they're very responsive and friendly. We had a minor issue with one of the projects they worked on and they came out and fixed it, no problem. The electrician that came out let me bombard him with a bunch of questions, many of which weren't related to the actual project he was out there to work on. Best contractor we've ever hired. For the past two years, we've been renovating our century-old home. I've interviewed more than 50 contractors and hired more than a dozen for everything--drywall, electric, drainage, tree pruning, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, roofing, and more.

Of all the contractors we have hired, Mirsky was hands down the best. They installed recessed lights for us and fixed a myriad assortment of random electrical issues, fixing outlets, replacing our bathroom fan, changing the order of switches, etc.

From start to finish, we had an excellent experience. We had to wait a few months for our initial appointment and estimate, and it was worth the wait. They know what they're doing and do it very well. They were very responsive, adaptable, and communicative, even as our list of needs continued to grow. Scheduling was a breeze. They were punctual and finished the work in the estimated time and on budget.

Seamus's work was simply fantastic. He was meticulous in his care for our furniture and home. His electrical work was top notch. Everything worked beautifully and I was so impressed with his attention to detail and skill. We liked his work so much that we hired Mirsky again to install more lights in our home. Seamus did such a clean and precise job that we didn't even need any drywall repair after he cut holes in our ceiling to install the lights.

They did a great job installing a new outlet for my EV charger. Very professional, courteous, and safe with mask on the entire time. Matt came in earlier to get an estimate and sent a very detailed and reasonable proposal. He then kept us up to date on schedules. Travis came in for the service. He did it most by himself with little handholding.

Overall quality work with very reasonable pricing. And great people to work with. Highly recommended!

When we first moved into our house, we knew we would need some electrical help throughout. Matt was able to get us on the calendar, and both times we had appointments, Seamus went above and beyond what we needed. From installing new chandeliers to setting up a kitchen remodel, Seamus was prompt, clear, and able to troubleshoot random issues that came up, and recommendations for how to properly take care of certain things we had inherited in the house. He even figured out how to fix two outlets a contractor had mis-wired, realized the voltage was too low, and fixed it before we had a subsequent plumbing install that would have been a huge problem if Seamus hadn't caught it. So incredibly impressed with Mirsky from the very start. When communicating with Matt about the work we needed done and scheduling, he was concise, clear, and friendly.

I initially had them come out to replace a few outlets and two light fixtures but Seamus was so incredible that I decided to do a bigger project (replacing can lights, all the light fixtures in the house, and all the switches and outlets) as well. Seamus was professional and courteous. He clearly explained everything we needed to know. Move a few outlets slighly to cover up small gaps in the wall or have it fit better in a bookcase.

Today was the last day of the project and he had an apprentice with him. I overheard (I was on a different floor and have great hearing:) ) Seamus really coaching and helping the apprentice in such a wonderful way. He gently told the apprentice to focus on doing this correctly and safe and not to try and go as fast as he could. He talked about the industry and how rewarding it is. He even talked to the apprentice about how much he enjoyed Mirsky Electric and how good they are to home owners and their employees.

I will absolutely be going back to Mirsky simply from my interactions with Matt but especially Seamus. Hope you all know what a great employee you have!

Oh... and all the new lighting, outlets, and switches look great. Its a whole new house!

Mirsky Electric saved me from a living hell. Matt and Seamus really went above and beyond. I'd had a few projects done by Mirsky in the past, so when dealing with an emergency wherein my house was suddenly without running water (due to a critical path booster pump drawing too much current such that it tripped the breaker), I naturally reached out to Matt. Despite Mirsky typically having a long backlog, plus Matt and his whole team being in training the week I reached out, he helped me diagnose the issue over email through a series of exchanged photos, videos, star signs and cosmological events, etc. Upon accurately describing the issue and likely fix required (drilling some holes through my drywall to install a junction box / wire that through to a new 20A breaker in my circuit breaker panel), Matt then was able to get me an opening the week after -- critical as I'd then be traveling for 10 days starting the week after that, and I needed to leave my cat and catsitter with running water. I can tell you for sure that this was not the type of work I felt comfortable trusting an unknown 24-hour contractor with, so as much as not having water for 8 days was painful, the alternative was not getting Mirsky out here for weeks more (due to their typically busy schedule) or going with a 24-hour tech who may not have done the job right. Upon arriving, Seamus quickly sized up the issue, identified the correct fix, thought of ways to minimize the drywall damage, wired everything up in less than two hours, left the place completely clean, and even left the 6 perfectly circular cut-out drywall pucks for me to patch back in later. Finally, the price was more than reasonable and they refused to accept a rush fee. I r8 8/8!

Mirsky installed 4 LED can lights in my living room ceiling, and a dimmer switch on the wall. Matt was easy to work with and very responsive via email. He was able to provide a quote based on particular photos that he requested.
Nate did a terrific job on the installation - kudos to him! I appreciate the quality of his work and his ability to work with the needs of our household. There are four of us online working from home and schooling from home. It was very nice how Nate worked quietly and checked with me before he started any work that might impact our home internet, which is on the same electrical circuit as the new can lights.

Mirsky for the win! I reached out to them when a previously hired electrician left a job unfinished. We had hired someone else to install 220 wiring from our breaker box to our future hot tub location and place the necessary circuit and safety shutoff. They had done the initial portion (running the wiring, placing the shutoff) but they hadn't placed the actual circuit in the box - something they said they'd complete when they returned to perform the actual hot tub hook up. The hot tub took longer than expected to arrive, but we'd remained in communication, and they were still on track to complete the work (which we paid for in advance). Delivery day comes, and suddenly said electrician is having personal problems (his words, not mine) and cannot complete the job. To make matters worse, the hot tub was delivered damaged, and in order to assess whether it was repairable I needed it functional.

I had reached out to one person to see about doing the hookup, and he was honest enough to let me know that his license didn't cover this type of work, but he recommended Mirsky. I'd submitted a bid request using their online form, and Matt reached out to me the very next day. He was honest in letting me know that they were pretty booked up, but that he'd get someone out in a few days to look at the work and complete the job. As it turned out, there were other things that the previous electrician hadn't competed, so when his electrician arrived (Nate) he couldn't complete the work that day. I was afraid it would result in an additional service charge, but Matt just rescheduled for the following week and didn't charge extra.

Both Matt and Nate were super professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. Matt was very responsive from start to finish, and followed up afterwards to make sure we were happy with the work. I felt like their pricing was more than fair. Contractors can be difficult to schedule and are often booked up weeks or months in advance, but Matt worked to get our job scheduled in a reasonable timeline. It was a relief when we did finally get the hot tub filled with water and fired up, to find the damage wasn't fatal and that it was functional after all. Whew...

I know we will be reaching out to Mirsky again for future electrical work, and I recommend them without hesitation.

I couldn't be happier with Mirsky's work! I wanted to upgrade our bathroom exhaust fan to a model with a heater, which required adding a dedicated circuit. Mirsky's was the only company that even got back to me about the job. Matt was super responsive and able to give me a virtual quote after seeing photographs. They were able to schedule me very soon, and Nate came out right on schedule. He and a helper were able to replace the fan and add the circuit within a few hours, with an absolute minimum of holes (one small one in above the breaker box in the unfinished laundry room, which they were able to cover with a wall plate so that no repair is necessary!).

If I ever have more electrical work to be done, I'm definitely reaching out to Mirsky first!

I contacted this business via their website contact form and heard back from Matt later that same day.

We spoke about some wiring challenges I was having with my DIY wall oven replacement. Not only did he tell me which part I needed, he told me how to adapt it to my junction box solution.

He also offered me additional advice and asked me to send him pics of the wiring so he could inspect it.

His proposals worked perfectly and now we're enjoying our up-to-code wall oven. I'll be calling Mirsky again. Thanks Matt!

Mirsky has been excellent. Matt has been extremely responsive, scheduled work quickly, and has provided detailed and fair estimates.

Don came out to install a chandelier and a ceiling fan for us, and he was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. After installation, he walked through my basement finishing project to point out new work that will be required and helped me make decisions about adding power to the backyard. I received a quote within two days, and I've booked them for the project.

I've been extremely happy with Mirsky, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I wish there were more stars to give! We hired Mirsky to do a know and tube replacement on our 97 year old house. We got bids from four different companies but decided to go with Mirksy based on their assessment, approach, and professionalism; they weren't the cheapest but also not the most expensive. Best decision for our house we've ever made! Mirsky was transparent, courteous, efficient, and timely. The way they worked together as a team throughout the house was impressive. They even got the inspection completed the day after they finished the work! We will definitely be hiring Mirksy for any additional electrical work.

I've bounced around a few different electricians for various work while I've had my home, but I've found a company I will stick with for life in Mirsky Electric. I requested a quote and Matt schedule a time to look over what was needed for free -- took 15 minutes max -- then a couple days later I had a very reasonable quote. I gave him some times and we scheduled the work, which was adding a new outlet in our garage, fixing an outside outlet that's never worked and adding two boxes for new outdoor garage lights.

Matt emailed me the day before our appointment and said to expect Seamus between 8-9am. Seamus showed up right at 8:30am and was everything you'd want in a professional. He was courteous, work a mask the entire time, and took extra steps to examine things I never asked about. For example, I wanted two new boxes placed for outside garage lights. He noticed the new light fixtures in my garage and took a look to make sure he was putting in the right kind of box to support the fixture. He also removed and replaced some garage stairs to get access to the panel in the basement. He didn't need any hand-holding and was able to do virtually everything without much input from me. When he arrived I told him what we were looking to do, he provided some options, we agreed and off he went.

Best of all, from a purely financial standpoint, he saved some money versus what was quoted because he was that efficient.

I can't recommend Mirsky enough. The other positive reviews were what drove me to consider Mirsky in the first place, and I'm glad I did.

It's a rare occurrence nowadays that your contractor sends you an invoice that is actually lower than their initial estimates. And that happened when I used Mirsky Electric's service.
I needed to put in new breaker and wire for an electric water heater, after some straightforward email communication with Matt and a few photos later, he gave me a reasonable estimate and scheduled an appointment. Later he had a cancellation and was able to squeeze my appointment even earlier.
Seamus came on time and did a great job. He was courteous, professional and efficient. He was actually finished the job an hour earlier than estimated, ended up saving me 140 bucks!
Very happy with this company and I highly recommend their services!

Let me tell you about Mike.

Mike is a god among men.

Mike is my hero and my savior.

Mike saved me $27,000.

Mike got my electricity working after nearly a month without either electricity or heat (separate issue). He identified the issue in less than 5 minutes. He probably saved my house from burning down, frankly. He fixed it in 10 minutes tops.

He gave me peace of mind -- my house doesn't have nearly as much knob and tube as I believed when I purchased it, and as two other electricians did not bother to inform me, preferring instead to let me believe I needed to rewire my entire home, at a whopping $27k in one instance.

I'm writing this crying big fat tears of joy because I had no idea how I was going to afford rewiring my home, replacing my entire HVAC system, and replacing my 30+ year old pipes throughout my home and the water heater, the latter two being almost as urgent as my electric problems. I don't have enough equity in my home yet to get a home equity loan like everyone suggested (except Mike), and I am the only home owner so paying a mortgage and thousands per month to pay off debt I incurred for getting this stuff fixed was a burden that Mike freed me of.

This is the best $300 I have ever spent. I do have electrical work to be done on my home. It's still got high priority. And yes, Mirsky and Mike will be the ones who get that job. You better believe I'll be referring everyone and their dog to these folk. I'll never call anyone else for electrical work ever again.

And I can't finish this without a shout-out to Matt, who was ridiculously responsive, looked over the other estimate and alerted me to the fact it was very high, worked with me to get Mike out to do an estimate, and then indirectly saved me $27,000.

Mirsky bossmen, I know you're reading this, because you monitor these reviews. You need to give Mike a raise. A huge raise. I'm talking a 10%+ raise. Because this man is about to bring you in a ton of business from me shouting his praises from the mountain tops.

I have a different type of review, a little on the rare side I think.

First, we all realize that at any moment, our path may take a different turn. Mine has. Why is this important in this review, you might wonder? Because I am a recent, now former employee.

Life has a different path for me.

I was with Mirsky Electric for 6.5 years...stop looking for a different company, your search has brought you to the right place.

In my 30 years as an electrician, this has been the tightest family environment, from the owner, to the newest apprentice. My path may be taking me on a new adventure, but I believe these guys have my back, as brothers, no matter where life takes me.

The experience all of these guys have is top notch, Matt, the bid/schedule master is one of the nicest, and easiest to work with guys around.

Darrell treated me with respect and care through good times, and rough times.

Mike is super friendly, knows his stuff, and will make you laugh.

Grant & Thien are the best rewire guys around, and as kind & efficient as you could ask for.

Management has always worked with customers & employees as if everyone were family.

I thank Mirsky Electric for 6.5 great years, and although my path changed...friends, and pride of our time together will never change.

This is a firm that stands behind their work. They are not only skilled and courteous but patient and understanding with prickly situations. I had some work electrical work done by Mirsky Electric. They replaced some faulty parts but in an attempt to save me money they left in some that failed soon after. When I called they came back, completed the repair and waived some fees that would have made the repair incredibly expensive. After I forgot to pay the second invoice, they contacted and nicely asked that I pay. I mailed a check which they did not receive and I became that checks in the mail guy which I felt horribly about since they had been so fair. We got the bill paid and they maintained their professional, courteous demeanor through the whole process. Turn the dial to Mirsky and break off the knob - you can't do any better.

Mike arrived on time, was professional and a nice guy. One of the circuits in our house stopped working and the breaker kept tripping. He did some diagnostics and was not sure exactly what the cause was. Replaced the breaker and all now seems to be working fine.

I will definitely keep coming back to this company. We've hired Mirsky Electric for a few different projects over the last few years and have had a good experience every time. I really appreciate how well Matt communicates over email and every electrician we've had in our house has been knowledgeable, professional, and friendly.

They've always taken the time to educate us about how our house is wired and they're communicative about costs, what they will and won't do, and what is required by electrical code. And, when they're on the clock, they work efficiently.

Home renovation is stressful but it's made way better when you find people who are easy to work with and do great work like Mirsky.

Mirsky Electric was great overall! We had an electrician come to replace two light fixtures in our ceiling, and we have had no problems with the installation. The electrician who came was also very careful to make sure that one of our cloth fixtures was hanging as level as possible!

The only hiccup was that we also wanted a dimmer switch installed, and although I mentioned it over email, the electrician had no idea that request was made, and didn't have any dimmers with him at the time. He did give us some advice on installing it, which saved us another visit.

Hired Mirsky Electric to add a new circuit to my home, and was very happy with the experience.

I was able to do all my scheduling and communication via email with Matt, which is great since I don't have to take time out of my day and sit on the phone. I am technical, so I am able to describe the problem I need solved and the way I expect them to solve it.

Don was the electrician sent to perform my work. He was able to install a new circuit to my bedroom and cutting only one hole in the drywall, which I was able to patch easily.

The team is very professional and honest. I was able to pay via credit card and had the invoice emailed to me when I closed the transaction.

Matt also helped schedule the permit inspection, so I didn't need to think about that.

I'm glad to add another 5 star review to their repertoire. Mirsky is a great local company and we should encourage their continued business.

We are extremely happy with the recessed lighting Seamus installed in our living room and kitchen plus wiring for new fixtures in the bedrooms of our 1912 home. Mirsky was very professional in all of our communications with scheduling and helped answer all of our questions. Seamus came out for an estimate and had a ton of great ideas on how to improve the lighting in our house, including adding some very cool Lutron Caseta dimmers that can be controlled with a smart assistant. Seamus was very professional and friendly to work with. Overall the project came out under budget from the original estimate, and best of all, the lights look great!! I would highly recommend Mirsky for any electrical work. They have great prices and the highest quality work. Seamus and Matt at Mirsky are great!

It's always great to read 5 star reviews talking about how smooth and professional and easy the job was, but I find the most helpful reviews are the ones where things went a little pear-shaped; these reviews provide an opportunity to see how a company deals with problems. We had a couple of difficulties on our recent rewiring and panel upgrade, and I couldn't be more pleased with Mirsky Electric Inc. from start to finish, from the smooth parts to the wonky bits.

Grant, the fellow who came out to bid our job, impressed me immediately by doing something none of the other electricians I'd had out had done: he removed a few face plates from outlets and light switches so he could see how much knob and tube we had and get a better feel for the scope of the job. I was also impressed by the fact that the person who bids the job at Mirsky is the person who will lead the crew doing the work. It just makes sense to me that they would do it that way, plus as the homeowner, it's nice to establish a rapport with the job estimator and know that it will be that same person returning to your home. Grant was super pleasant, friendly, and professional.

Our first hiccup was a miscommunication that Grant immediately apologized for, took full responsibility for, and fixed rapidly and graciously. The inspector from the city had come out and directed Grant and Tien (the other electrician who worked on our job; also a very pleasant and professional gent) to install our new electrical panel in a specific place. What neither the city inspector nor Grant knew was that we are going to remove and rebuild the wall where he had directed Grant to put the panel. He and I had discussed a different place for the panel before the inspector had come out, and he failed to ask me if the new location would be okay; he just jumped right into installing it. Fortunately I came downstairs and noticed where they were installing the panel before they had gotten too far along. Grant dealt with the situation perfectly, apologized for not checking in with me, owned his responsibility, and put the panel in the place we had originally chosen. He did a great job remedying the situation, and I couldn't be more pleased.

The next snag was 100% our fault, and the Mirsky team did a spectacular job dealing with it. When Grant and Tien went into our attic to plan replacing remaining knob and tube wiring, they discovered that not only was there evidence of rats (i.e., poop), they actually saw three rats scuttling around. They immediately descended and told me they could not continue work in those conditions. Totally fair, totally our fault for having a rat infestation. The work in the attic was the last part of our job, and since we had to wait several weeks for rat extermination and poop clean up, Mirsky suspended our job. They were super busy at the time, so the postponement and rescheduling of our job totally screwed up their calendar (very sorry about that, Mirsky!). Again, they dealt with it perfectly. I kept in close contact with Matt in the office (and kudos to Matt for squeezing us onto the schedule in the first place!), and as soon as the attic was cleaned out and de-ratted, Matt magiced us back on to the schedule. I am very impressed with the way they handled our mistake, and how quickly they got us back on the schedule to finish the job. They never even threw us any shade, not even an exasperated sigh or a rolled eye, which I think we kinda deserved.

Mirsky Electrical, Inc. was superb from start to finish and over the rough bits in between. Every Mirsky employee I encountered was professional, skilled, prompt, pleasant, and exuded an air of integrity. I've already recommended them to a friend, and would happily do so again. If we ever need to hire an electrician again, I know who I'll be calling.

We had an electrician come out to our home from Mirsky. The electrician did a great job and fixed the electrical panel wiring in less than 5 minutes. From arriving to leaving the entire job was 10 minutes and at a cost of nearly $220. A pricey tag - that's a dollar every 3 seconds!

Job well done and problem solved, but felt as though the price was a little unjustified for a local electrician already in the area. Would happily call them again, but maybe for a not-so-small job!

I can't say enough great things about Mirsky Electric.

It was extremely easy to set up an appointment; I left a voice message over a weekend and was called back on the next Monday morning. They were booked a few weeks out (which was expected given their high ratings), but was able to find a day/time that worked.

Electrician Don showed up on time and ready to work. We reviewed the plan and parts and he got right to work. In only 2 hours he accomplished what would have taken me the better part of day: change out a bunch of switches, quite a few sconces and an overhead light fixture. The replacements were from an Etsy shop, with clearly not quite standardized attachments, but Don made it work, which was great. He even made recommendations for different bulbs and checked the specs when I pulled up an option on my computer.

Payment was simple - Don had been keeping track of his time on a timer and then after we reviewed the work and time, I paid with a cc on his ipad. (I'm not sure if they accept Apple or Android pay.)

Bottom line: it is rare to find a contractor that answers the phone, shows up on time, listens to the client, works quickly and then (gasp!) cleans up after their work, so given that Mirsky / Don did all of the above, I absolutely recommend them!

Mirsky does phenomenal work and we highly recommend them. They recently completed a full knob-and-tube rewire for our house and added recessed lighting to several rooms. Everything turned out great and the work was done under budget and slightly ahead of schedule (that's rare for a contractor so we were pleasantly surprised!). The team was very respectful, cleaned our house up well each day, and kept us well-informed on progress. They were also great at advising us on decisions that we were unsure about. In case it helps in your decision-making, we got 6 quotes before ultimately selecting Mirsky. We chose them because they seemed the most trustworthy, experienced, professional and competent. Pros - Just came by and handled a bunch of items for us. Arrived on time, worked fast. Great service. Would recommend to others.

Cons - Pricey. Learned my lesson to buy supplies instead of having them bring them. They charged us $40/each for dimmers that I should have bought at Home Depot or Loews for $20/each.

All in all, good service and the guy (Mike) was very quick and pleasant.

The Seattle market is crazy right now and it seems impossible to find someone willing to do the little jobs. After calling around, Matt at Mirsky was incredibly polite and eager to learn more about my project and how they could be a part of it. They sent out Michael (?) who was initially stumped but was relentless about finding a solution with minimal damage to the wall. He even went into the attic to investigate. We had one more outlet that needed to be cut in order for construction to continue so they made some magic happen with their schedule and had another guy, Justin, come out the very next morning. Construction was able to continue without a hitch thanks to their accommodations and tenacity about providing superior service. These guys are RELIABLE, ON -TIME, POLITE, COMMUNICATIVE and AFFORDABLE. All 5 stars are well earned!

I'm thrilled w the service Mirsky provided. I booked them for a project 2 mos ago and then made a request change at the last minute (two days before the project). Don graciously came by to check it out. He said it would work (i.e., installing an external jumper cable rather than cutting into the ceiling -- drywall headaches!).

He arrived early and got to work. He was totally cool and funny while working -- despite my young kids hovering over him and asking him question after question :). He finished promptly and the bill was more than fair.

Definitely contact Mirsky for your next project and request Don. I wish they were the first people I called about my issue... it would've saved me a lot of grief!

I didn't actually use Mirsky Electric because the type of service I needed they honestly told me they could not provide. However, Mike Mirsky returned my message promptly and politely and furthermore, referred me to people in the area who could help. It's nice to know some people still understand customer service and the importance of developing relationships even if a service is not immediately provided. I'm in a service industry myself so I can see it from both sides.

In my search for help, I came across numerous electricians who did not even return my call. Well, their loss -- we own several properties and so do our family/ friends -- so you know who we will refer others to when they need assistance.

I booked my quote appointment and installation appointment with Matt, who was super accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Seamus did the installation and was incredibly helpful explaining things and was willing to go above and beyond without being asked. He was very knowledgeable, kind, professional, transparent, and certainly not one of those creepy contract guys who come into your home and you're not sure if they're trying to scam you; this experience was the TOTAL opposite of that. I also appreciated him taking the time to cover all my stuff on the floor with plastic covering. Given that I have two small boys there is crap ALL over my floor, and he graciously moved stuffed animals and toys aside and gently covered them with plastic to ensure they wouldn't get dirty. I really appreciated all the small things Seamus did to get the job done right, I will definitely reach back out to these guys the next time I need lighting again. :)

Don was running late, but called twice to keep us informed of his expected arrival time. He quickly solved our electrical problems (GFI in the garage and temperamental doorbell), explained everything that he was doing and gave us tips for the future, and was utterly fantastic with our dog (priorities :)). Mirsky Electric came out to one of my rentals on short notice to replace a wall fan heater. Mike identified that the heater I purchase was the wrong voltage despite it looking identical. Instead of just going through the motions and installing it, he spent the time to figure out what was wrong with the heater. He determined the cover on the fan was the wrong one so it was retaining the heat causing it to automatically shut off. Mirsky care's about their work and I'd use them again.

Mirksy Electric helped me solve my problem without even coming to my house! I was trying to install a timer to turn on my outdoor lights when the sun goes down (for security). I pulled all the switches out of the box and could not find the required neutral wire (the white one), so I figured I was out of luck.

I filled out the quote form online and got an e-mail from Matt on Sunday morning. After a few back and forth e-mails he said that the neutral wire may be tied up in the very back of the box, and sure enough, it was! After some wire twisting and putting screws back in, my timer and other switches were back in business.

I assume that they'd want to do a housecall and I'd end up spending a few hundred dollars to add (or just find) a wire, so big kudos to Matt for helping me out at no charge.

Mirsky electric sent a team of three electricians to our home to complete a large rewire job and install new outlets and lighting in our 1926 home. With a scope that was though to take four days, they were able to complete in just over two days which saved us money.

They were hard working, courteous, and worked with us to find the best electrical solutions for our home.

As advertised they were great...i had Don do my job and he masterfully installed a box and then a new rejuvenation version of my broken old double hanging pendant...

And he had great things in his pockets to make little adjustments...to shim it...

He was very fast and truly masterful...he checked out a hallway overhead hanging lamp and said it wasnt safe as i thought and we did the same job for that recently...I showed him a double push in switch..also original and he replaced that w something i found online....w new wiring...from rejuvenation...

All to code ...

I have one more switch that he will replace ...next...

And this was within the one hr min. charge...

This is our second project with Mirsky Electric, and we can't say enough good things about their service!!

From scheduling (with Matt) to the technicians that came out to work (Mike and Don) and follow-up from the owner (Darrell) - the entire experience was first class.

The abundance of other reviews makes it clear - Mirsky is committed to providing excellent service that is efficient, cost effective, friendly, knowledgeable, and they left our home as clean after the project as before.

We installed a new circuit to our kitchen (the microwave, espresso maker, and toaster oven are all plugged-in near each other and kept blowing a fuse when we used them at the same time) installed dozens of dimmer switches, and replaced a fixture on the front porch (and even added an outlet next to it so we could install a security camera.)

Highly recommended, and thankful these guys are in the neighborhood!!

I spoke to Matt on the phone and he gave me a clear understanding of the scope of work and an accurate price estimate. The electrician who came to do the work, Justin, was great! He was very punctual. We wanted an outlet installed in our garage and were fine with the wiring being exposed on the outside of the wall. My exterior garage lights weren't working. Mike with Mirsky Electric arrived on time. He diagnosed the problem. I had a faulty breaker, GFI, and light sensor. Based on their excellent reviews online, I contacted Mirsky Electric to diagnose and fix a nonworking outdoor fixture. From the very beginning, the communication with their scheduler, Matt, was excellent. He was very responsive to each of my emails and I was happy they were willing to come out to Sammamish. On the day of my appointment, one of their electricians, Mike, showed up right on time. Mike found the issue quickly and, fortunately, it was a relatively easy fix. Mike is a super nice guy -- pleasant, helpful, and willing to answer questions. Everything went so smoothly and I am happy to have now found an electrician that I am comfortable with and can call next time I need electrical work. Thanks so much, Matt and Mike.

I had a great experience with Mirsky. I needed to get a 220V electric range outlet converted to 110V for a gas range install. I asked for quotes via email from several contractors and Mirsky was quick to respond. Their rates were reasonable, less than some other electricians.

I appreciated that they were willing to give me their rates and estimated time to complete the job. Several other electricians wanted a $50 fee to provide an estimate for what was a simple job.

The electrician who arrived was on time, worked quickly and answered all of my questions. He also talked me through some future work I was considering. Was charged for one hour of work and parts were reasonable. Next time I need electrical work Mirsky will be my first to call.

Mirsky replaced knob-and-tube wiring in our 1950s house, as well as adding a couple new light fixtures and replacing a bathroom fan. Overall very pleased with the work.

They work based on time & materials, rather than a fixed price per outlet, fixture, & switch. The final bill came in under the initial estimate. (They try to make initial estimates conservatively so that this is the typical case.) The good thing about this arrangement is that the crew was very flexible to adjust based on what they found and what we requested. Communication from the office and from the onsite crew was excellent every step of the way.
The crew worked through some significant challenges in our house and did a great job.

One thing I wish was communicated more clearly before work began was the likelihood of needing to drill some new holes in the walls to work wires through. This ended up being a significant additional expense which required another contractor to come onsite. That said, the contractor recommended by Mirsky for this work was great.

I had an electrical strike issue that was looking to be a 4-5K repair potentially but they found a way to secure it for less than $400 when they easily could have told me I needed to go the more expensive route. We had some electrical work that needed to be done (some overhead lights installed and some outlets updated). We'd called two other places -- both highly rated on Yelp and elsewhere -- but their quotes were so different (one offering a flat rate after coming out and assessing the job, the other offering an hourly rate after only an e-mail inquiry), it was impossible to compare the two. Mirsky was our tie-breaker. They also came out, assessed the job, and offered a flat rate (slightly lower than the first one we'd been given). More importantly, my husband, who was here when the Mirsky electrician came out, just got a good feeling about them. He was right.

What can I say?

-- Electrician was running slightly late the morning he was due here, but they called to let us know that and he still arrived within an hour of when originally expected.

-- He needed to make some tweaks to the original plan as, once he got into the bowels of our old house, some unexpected obstacles to completing the job were found. BUT, he made sure we were informed every step of the way and did not take any action without first checking with us to make sure it was ok.

-- Despite said obstacles, job was completed within the time-frame originally estimated.

-- Despite said obstacles, our final cost actually ended being a few dollars less than the original quote.

-- Electrician took great care throughout to keep carpets/furniture/etc. protected from debris and cleaned up completely when the job was done.

We found the Mirsky personnel with whom we interacted to be thoroughly professional -- both in terms of their business practices and the actual electrical work. We are completely satisfied with the work that was done (and the price that was charged). We would most definitely call Mirsky again.

My husband & I recently bought a house in Ballard and learned in our pre-inspection that we had knob and tube wiring that needed to be replaced. We love that they charge time & materials so you know exactly what you're getting yourself into. It took their team a week to finish our house, which was right on schedule. Every day they arrived right on time and left our place in great condition when they left. Their lead guy called every evening to give us an update on the status of the project, and communicated very well! I recently used Mirsky Electric to remove some knob and tube wiring from my 1928 home in Seattle, a 2 bdrm, 1 bath home with a daylight basement. I had read good things about them online. Basically I needed all the main floor lights and wall switches updated, along with a few other minor items in the basement. Other N&T wiring had been previously removed from this property.
I received three bids, $8100, $5900, and $3200. I went with Mirsky ($3200), not just because they were the lowest bid, but they were much more responsive to my questions, and I felt comfortable with them. Matt did a great job of estimating the work, and the two electricians (Grant and Thien) were fantastic. They did all the work without having to make one single hole in my beautiful knockdown lathe and plaster walls. The other two companies indicated at least two or three 3 1/2 inch holes would be required, due to access issues. Grant would reach out to me anytime a decision needed to be made. Communication throughout the entire project was in a word...FANTASTIC. All of the old wiring was hauled away, and the house was left spotless. One very minor issue came up during the city inspection, and Mirsky came out the next day to resolve it. They were in and out in 10 minutes.
These guys are honest, and do great work. Not only that, they came in 5 hours UNDER BUDGET. I will only use Mirsky going forward. These guys are amazing. If you need work done, see if you can get Grant to lead the project. You will not be disappointed!

I had an electrical problem come up last week and reached out to several Electricians. Mirsky Electric was 1 of only 2 that got back to me and the only one that could make it out in a reasonable amount of time. Given the short work week (Thanksgiving week), I was very happy to find out that they'd be able to come out on Monday.

Don arrived early in the 2-hour time frame that they gave and was very personable. He was able to diagnose/fix the issue very quickly and was out of my house in a half-hour. He also explained the probable cause of the issue and gave some good tips on how to avoid it in the future.

Bottom line, I'm very glad I reached out to Mirsky Electric and I will definitely be calling again for any future electrical needs!

The service is great. The communication is perfect. The work is solid. The only reason I'm dropping a star is because of the timeline.

I tried to install a timer for my front porch switch and busted a breaker - time to call the pros! I reached out through their website on a Sunday evening and had a message back before noon on Monday morning. Unfortunately they couldn't be out for about 10 days. Luckily that breaker was non-essential, but still kinda a PIA. When Don (electrician) arrived, he was friendly, knowledgeable and fast. Diagnosed the problem quickly and had it fixed in a jiffy.

Working with our almost hundred year old house and all its quirks was a puzzle for sure, but they got creative and also ensured everything done was to code. I had a project involving updating the lighting in my living room, and am extremely satisfied with the job Mirsky did. They were prompt in responding to all questions during the estimate, and were able to schedule on a day that best fit our needs.

I recently had Mirsky Electric out to install 3 items: A ceiling fan, chandelier, and surround sound system. Matt did a great job quoting me, even breaking each item out into separate jobs should I chose to do them separately (very kind) and the price was completely reasonable. Once scheduled, the technician did an excellent job getting everything installed efficiently, and in a timely manner - plus he was very friendly. In addition he was able to make a solution work for me that required less re-work later if I decided to replace the chandelier with recessed lighting.

However, I do have a few complaints:
1. Technician had to reschedule the night before work was supposed to be done (after I'd already taken the day off to be home for the installation). :-(
2. Major mess was left (from dust) all over the furniture / surrounding fixtures. Although some clean up was done, it was really only on the floor and... I had to help with this during the install.
3. Holes were drilled into the walls in order to run the wires. This was totally fine (and expected), but I wasn't told until scheduling (after the quote) that Mirsky would not fix these. Although they did recommend a contractor they worked with to do this work afterwards (a very expensive one BTW) - it was a major pain to have to have a 2nd appointment, 2nd set of contractors to do this. After all of this I still had to do massive cleaning and repaint the walls myself.

In summary, although these guys did a great job (excellent customer service, great price, quick scheduling) - I doubt I would use them again unless I had a job that didn't require any holes, or they changed their business model to have people that can do the entire job. - - - - Please do, I liked you guys!

Darrell Mirsky is a reliable, easy-to-work-with electrician, lighting designer, and electrical contractor. He really helps you think through the details of your projects.

His company, Mirsky Electric, helped us with the lighting and electrical design for our entire house including the kitchen, dining room, bedrooms, bathrooms, entry, living room and exterior.

His electricians installed a new electrical meter and panel, new low voltage recessed lights, a lighting control system, new receptacles and dimmers, data and TV outlets, and a cable light system to highlight our art.

Darrell was responsive and courteous and went out of his way to provide good advice. He also made certain that we stayed within our budget.

I recently had Matt at Mirsky Electric do some work for me, and have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience.

First of all, my wife and I just purchased an older (1940's) home and have been taking the DIY approach to a lot of the updates, and this project was no different. The house has the original Knob-n-Tube wire, which is ungrounded, and we wanted to update some existing outlets to new grounded circuits (for new appliances, electronics, etc), add some new outlets in a finished attic, and install a sub-panel to make replacing the ground floor lighting/receptacles much easier when we get around to it.

Seeing as I was taking a (for the most part) DIY approach to this project, I was simply looking for an electrician to validate my ideas about how/where to run all the wires/panel, and then come out and do some final hookups of the panel and new circuits (so I would survive to my next project)

I called/emailed around to several highly rated electricians on Yelp, and Matt was by far the first to respond to my inquiries. He actually swung by my place to take a look at my proposed work as soon as I had some available time, which was much sooner than I had expected he would be able to stop by. I was very upfront with him that I planned to do must of the grunt work myself and just have an electrician do the final connections. He gladly gave me some valuable feedback/validation about the work I was planning to do myself, which was greatly appreciated. Even though the billable hours for the project were low, he was more than willing to answer questions I had in several follow up calls leading up to the time he came out to help finish off my project.

Matt's estimates of hourly work were right in line with what he billed, and the work was clean and completely quickly. He completed all the work in just over 2 hours, but billed me for exactly 2 hours, which was a very pleasant surprise. I had forgotten that they offer a discount for mentioning their listing on Yelp, but he asked where I found them and kindly offered the discount without me even bringing it up.

All in all, we now have a new 60A sub-panel and 2 new 20A circuits in my office, a new dedicated 20A circuit in the kitchen for our brand new refrigerator, and a dedicated GFCI protected 20A circuit in the basement for our chest freezer. While he was here he also installed a main panel surge protector and swapped out a few old breakers for GFCI breakers to protect some of the ungrounded circuits in the house.

I pulled a permit on this project myself, since I was doing the majority of the work, and the inspector passed myself and Matt's work with flying colors. (special thanks to Matt here, because he mentioned a small issue that I should fix before the inspection, which the inspector immediately noticed and said without my last minute change he would have not passed the work) Even though I pulled the permit, Matt gladly offered to come back out and make any changes that the inspector wanted, and actually followed up with me twice to insure that everything passed inspection. Definitely top notch in customer service...

I have some future electrical projects planned (finishing a basement, rewiring some old circuits, etc) and will definitely contact Matt when I need an electrician again.

Had an issue with a mystery ozone smell on a Saturday which is outside of their normal hours. Called the emergency electrician, Don, and he walked me through the different possibilities for what the issue could be. We ended up finding the issue, a fried Brinks security panel battery, and did not need to have him come out which was his intent the whole time. He was very up front with the cost for weekend emergency service, which is considerably more than typical services, and wanted to make sure that we wouldn't end up paying for something we didn't need. Was very happy with the help he gave us and will be using this company again in the future.

We hired Mirsky to replace our electrical box, a bathroom vent and a bathroom outlet. Pretty simple projects.

I rate them as OK because I feel as though communication with us could have been a lot better and an outlet in the garage was crooked when they finished it! Ugh!

What I think they could improve on is how they collaborated with us on what we were looking to do. Instead of having a conversation with us and learning what our desired outcomes were, the workers showed up with standard products that weren't necessarily what we actually wanted. Since we hadn't talked about before they arrive to do the work, we assumed that a final consultation would have been completed with choices for us to make before the work started. Instead, they just showed up with what they felt they'd do without alteratives. We had to be assertive and get them to take the time to walk us through what we were looking for and tell them that we were surprised that they weren't prepared (or intending) to have that final conversation with us. That's dissappointing!

So, in short, if you go with these guys, be assertive and descriptive about what you are looking for and your expectations in deciding on products being used. And, be sure to tell them that you want to see choices/alternatives when they arrive (before work is done) since they don't seem to take that approach. It'll save you time and disapointment and will get you want you want for your money. For that reason, we would choose to use a different contractor in the future.

I recently bought an old 1920's craftsman which had some old knob and tube wiring. During the preinspection of the home, I was told that it would be about $2000 or more to replace and bring everything grounded and up-to-date.

Matt from Mirsky provided an estimate and told me the best way forward was for them to charge me by time worked. He provided a quick breakdown of what he thought the max amount of time it would take (2 people, 2 days) and the estimated expected charge: ~$3500. Much more than the $2000 I heard from the inspector before.

Upon questioning it, Matt explained that the work would likely take less time and I'd see a reduction in fees. Right - heard that before. But I had little time to wait to get this done, so I gave them the go-ahead, fully expecting two guys to show up and drag out their work for two days, and end up with a $3500 charge.

After the first of two days of work, I was told that only one guy had to show up on the second day, since they made so much headway. Great ,I thought - maybe I'd be paying a little bit less.

Turned out the second day was one guy only working a few hours finishing things. Not only did they significantly reduce the bill, it came out to be less than I was initially told to inspect during the preinspection.

Quick, dependable, clean work. 5 stars for sure.

Hands down best experience I've ever had with any contractor. We had just sold our home and needed an electrician ASAP, not only was Mike extremely knowledgable he didn't waste any time fixing everything. When an issue arose that neither one us had expected it was no problem, he went to get all the parts right away to ensure everything was completed before he left. I was very impressed by the time it took him to replace the electrical panel, I couldn't believe it!! Not only was his work impeccable, he was right on time and completed in the time frame given to me over the phone. Even with the unexpected replacement of my panel!! I called Mirsky for what my brother thought was an emergency ,power surge,problem which could possibly cause a fire. I live in a condo & that adds to the fear of damaging multiple homes besides my own. After calling another co. who told me she needed to check w/ her svc. mgr., Mirsky returned my call & was able to confirm. I waited to hear from co. #1, 'cause I feel loyal for some bizarre reason. Finally,I thought I should go w/ the sure thing & found out she hadn't called anyone yet.

Only quasi-neg. was my Mirsky elec.,Don?, came several hours early & w/out a warning call.I have a disability ,so even though I was pleased to see him a call would have been the best. Well,he was super honest & efficient because he exlplained that it was a very small & easy problem- not at all what my brother had feared. So the cost was the minimum & told me how it could be avoided in the future. What more can you ask? I will be using them for a larger project. Look no further.

I had Mirsky Electric out to my house this week to install a chandelier. I found them on yelp with all the great reviews, and they offered me the Yelp 10% off offer before I even had to ask.

With regards to pricing, I contacted Mirsky and one other place. Mirsky was cheaper because they said they would be able to do the job quicker. They only said they needed to charge me for 1 hour (which ended up only being like 45 minutes) to do the job, whereas the other place wanted to charge me for 2 hours which would have been way too much time! If Mirsky had taken 2 hours to do this job it would have been more expensive than the other place so In the end I don't really know which has better pricing, but Mirsky was more honest and clearly has people who can do their jobs quicker!

They got here on time which is always a huge plus, and got to work pretty quickly. They removed the old chandelier and put up the new one which was still sitting nicely in the box :)

Being a single woman owning her first house it's important for me to find good quality, trustworthy, reasonable businesses when I'm in need of house maintenance. I've used Mirsky twice and they are now the electricians I depend on.

The first timeIi used them was in an emergency situation. They were able to come to my house that day and get the job done in about an hour. It turned out not to be an emergency after all and Mike, the electrician, also very kindly replace my GCFI outlets for me which is something I intended to get done by an electrician anyways so that was great! The cost was cheaper than I thought it would be and overall the experience was very positive!

The second time was about six weeks later and the experience was the same, I called on a Thursday to request a Friday appt which they were able to fill. Mike came again on time and quickly identified and repaired my electrical problem. He even replaced my burned out bulb while he was at it.

i would highly recommend Mirsky for your electrical needs. Courteous, professional, clean, reasonably priced, dependable, and trustworthy!

Fantastic service, great communication and fair prices. What more can you ask for? We had a problem with a few outlets that just stopped working and nothing we did (fliping breakers) could fix them. We sent in an email request, got a very quick response (even on the weekend), set up an appointment and Mike came right on time and quickly identified the problem and fixed the wiring problem and replaced of the outlets in less than an hour. Hiring an electrician is something that typically can carry with it a lot of negative connotations. I chose to trust the Yelp star rating system to choose an electrical service company. Mirksy Electric had a bunch of high ratings, so it got the call when I needed my electrical problem solved. Thanks to Don's keen understanding of my homes electrical layout, I am now enjoying electricity to my refrigerator again. With solid troubleshooting, he was able to knowledgeably and logically explain why each step was done. Bad outlets, daisy chained improperly, grounds were done right, etc...

We hired Mirsky Electric to install our motion sensor lights front and back of our house.

Not the easiest job, as a few years ago we'd converted from knob and tube to the modern stuff, and one of the places we wanted a light needed a complete new run and there have been many hands in the electrical harnesses - good and bad - over the years.

The tech was on time, worked clean, and came in under quote! when was the last time ANYTHING has ever come in under quote?

I was further suprised in the he wanted to come back in a couple days with some additional parts to make sure the lights would be permanenly secure.... no additional charge. I'm sure they would have been fine as he'd originally done it, but it wasn't completely up to his standards. He also made sure the settings were as they should be for light activation, also not part of his original job or the quote.... Again, when is the last time you hired someone with THOSE kind of values?

I don't see any reason to hire anyone else for our electrical needs going forward.

Most companies and contractors for home needs are about as enjoyable as dentists, these guys are rockstars.

A co-worker suggested I call this company when she overheard me talking about an on-going electrical issue with my thermostat. I'm so glad she did - if you've read my other reviews of other companies, you know that I prize service above all else and Mirsky Electric delivered. I called and left a voice mail with the service department and was called back the same day. Explained the situation, plus what I had been hoping to have done to upgrade my thermostat . We scheduled him to come out the next week (which was convenient for me - they could have accommodated a closer time if necessary). The technician was there close to on-time (traffic impact), had the thermostat opened in a minute and immediately could see the problems. Not only did he fix it quickly - they had listened to what I wanted with regard to the upgrade and he had brought with him two thermostat options. After talking to him and getting his opinion, I settled on the one I wanted. He was done in less than an hour, cleaned up and out the door. Its been working brilliantly ever since.

If you want fast, efficient and affordable service, this is the company for you. I cannot recommend them highly enough. And they are now my go-to electrician for future upgrades and repairs. I won't look anywhere else.

Our experience with Mirsky Electric was wonderful - very easy to deal with, prompt, straightforward, and good work at fair prices. Highly recommended!

I wanted motion detector lights installed on the side of my home, and several other companies wouldn't even physically come to quote the work, rather just giving me an hourly rate. Mirsky came out to look at our house (an old Craftsman that has a hodge-podge of electrical/wiring) and give us a quote. They were great in offering a few different recommendations based on our needs, and the quote was clear with very fair/reasonable pricing.

The work was great; they showed up exactly when they said they would with two uniformed guys (a professional touch). They were conscientious about the work, and cleaned up after themselves. And, most importantly did a great job!

Short version: I'd use Mirsky again.

Responsiveness. I needed some exterior work done on the drop to my house -- work that eventually came to involve the city inspector, Seattle City Light, Mirsky, and me. Mirsky handled all the interactions with the city and the inspectors quickly and flawlessly: Matt Morningstar seemed to know the right contacts for my neighborhood off the top of his head, and he pulled the permit the same day we reached an agreement that Mirsky would do the work.

Cost. I've done a lot of electrical work myself and hired many electricians, so I had a pretty good idea what the work should cost. Mirsky's estimate matched my expectations, and when I received the final bill, I liked the fact that the parts they used were clearly called out (and not unreasonably marked up).

Work quality. The work I needed done was pretty simple (I just needed two points of attachment on the mast leading into my main panel). Mirsky executed the work well. The only thing that I noticed that I'd critique is that their electrician accidentally split one of the shingles when he secured one of the bolts. Not a big deal, though predrilling a hole would have prevented that. That's the reason I didn't give Mirsky 5 stars.

Communication. In particular, I loved the fact that (unlike many contractors), Matt Morningstar at Mirsky was willing to communicate via email, phone, and text message in order to accommodate my unavailability. Everything -- from permitting to the work estimate to payment -- was handled without undue paper being passed around or phone calls needing to be made.

I recently had to have a larger electrical job done,and didn't hesitate to use Mirsky Electric. Nate and Derek were competent,fast,and nice. They did a beautiful job of sorting through what needed to be upgraded and re- routed in a more sensible way in my century plus house. Mirsky was such a joy to work with! It took a little while to get on their schedule for the estimate visit, but it's pretty clear it's because they do a great job and are in demand. Don came by to complete the work we needed (adding outlets, fixing outlets, adding a cable outlet, etc...) and he was an absolute joy to have around. A lot of the work we had estimated ended up not needing to be done upon arrival, and Mirsky was super quick to revise our invoice and send us a refund check. We'd absolutely work with Mirsky again!

So apparently electricians in the Seattle area don't like to work or make money, because out of the 6 I called, Mirsky was the only one to call me back within a timely manner. Their supervisor immediately set me up with a visit for an estimate (at no cost of course) for a few small projects I had to get done ASAP. Their estimate seemed fair, and based on the other reviews (and total lack of attention from the other electricians I called) I gave them a go.

They showed up a half an hour early for my appointment, and were quick, efficient, courteous and clean. I couldn't be happier with the work they did and the service they provided. I will absolutely use them again in the future.

We have been doing a pretty extensive home remodel (Slowly but surely) and we have a friend whose an electrician by trade. However, he was swamped with work and my house was FREEZING (See review on Specialty Insulation). Enter Mirsky. They were the ones that were within budget and the most responsive. And I had three other reputable companies bidding double of what Mirsky was asking for. I guess the 'older companies' were banking on added value because of their longevity. Matt Morningstar was punctual, put my proposal in an easy to read itemized format, gave me a Yelp discount (Always love those!), and communicated with me immediately when there needed to be changes. Brian was a rockstar and discovered some interesting drywall methods that prevented lights from being where we wanted them to be, but he was still done within a day. I love my lights, especially the under cabinet one!

Prompt, professional, and affordable. I found it ridiculous what other places were charging me for a few lights but Mirsky really surprised me. Definitely will be the first guys I call if I have more electrical work!

Experienced a power surge in LFP recently. The surge nuked the switches for a ceiling fan and a closet light. Spoke with Matt to make arrangements for them to come identify the problem. Responsive and professional in his responses to my emails. Don arrived today as planned - quickly befriended our dogs and quickly assessed the problems for us. He replaced one switch - and left me with clear instructions on how to replace the ceiling fan switch once I receive it. Have a hallway light to replace and an outside outlet to add for yard lights. These guys were amazing. I read good reviews on YELP so decided to check with them as to some needed 'man cave' electrical wiring outlet needs. The original estimate seemed very reasonable, they were very attentive and responsive to my inquiry and questions, and therefore I decided to run with them. As the work date approached, I had some changes in my game plan of what I wanted to do and Matt was completely great about adjusting the plan prior. Mike was the electrician that showed up, he was promptly on time, got the work done cleanly and very efficiently, and the project came significantly under budget. Fantastic experience. Mirsky came out to do a couple of installments for us (a motion floodlight and a timer). The quote from Matt was very reasonable, and he was a really nice guy. Don came out to do the job and he couldn't have been more helpful. He nailed the job, even after running into a weird hiccup with the construction of our house that prevented him from installing the floodlight like he initially planned. He made adjustments and it looks and works great. He even helped me fix an outlet and light switch on another electric project I am doing on my own, and gave me some pointers... free of charge. I hired Mirsky to install recessed lighting. This is the first time we've hired an electrician to do any work so I didn't know exactly where to start or what to expect. I found Mirsky through Yelp, and scheduled bids with them and two other highly rated companies.

On the day of the bids all three companies had issues making it out to our house. One company never communicated they weren't coming, didn't answer my calls, and never returned my calls. The second company didn't show, and when I called them blamed it on a scheduling error with their manager. Mirsky also had a conflict, but the Service Manager, Matt, contacted me early in the day asking to reschedule. He offered to still make it out if I couldn't reschedule, but I couldn't justify asking him to leave a paying job just to come bid on work. Matt's professionalism, timely communication, and follow through was a constant in my dealing with Mirsky, and ultimately why we went with them.

From a price standpoint they were right around the middle of the pack of the bids I eventually got, and the wait time to get the work done was only about a week. The installer who actually did the work was just as professional as Matt. He installed a total of 11 recessed lights in two different rooms, and did a fantastic job. He worked quickly and efficiently, but ensured I reviewed all of the placements before making any cuts. He also did a great job cleaning up after himself, and left the place cleaning than he found it.

Overall, could not be happier with the work that they did. I'll always get multiple bids on work we're getting done, but Mirsky will be the first very electric company I call to come and provide a bid.

We recently purchased a house where the front room had all 2 prong outlets, we obviously need a three prong if we want a tv in the living room. I called Mirsky and someone came out and gave me all my options and then on another day the electrician came out and did exactly what we had talked about. He was a little late and I did call them to make sure someone was coming but it happens and it certainly did not reflect the work that he did. I was happy with the work and the guy was super nice.

Mirsky Electric did extensive work at our newly purchased 1945 fixer. Brian, Matt, and helpers basically updated the entire electrical system, got everything working, made the place safe and habitable, and brought it up to code. We had gotten bids from other contractors. And while Mirsky's wasn't the lowest, their bid was very detailed and informative. Mirsky came highly recommended from a coworker, and it was worth it to us to go with a known quantity, rather than taking a chance on the cheapest contractor. (I remember my mother telling me that you often get what you pay for.) We're glad we did. Matt and Brian were courteous, punctual, clean, and finished the job on-time and within cost.* We'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

*Mirsky completed the bid work within the price they quoted. Right after they started, however, we asked them to get permits from the City. (According to them, we could have done the work legally without permits, but we decided to play it safe.) They City approved Mirsky's work, but a finicky inspector wanted additional repairs, before he'd sign off on the permits. (I saw the inspector's written comments; so I'm confident the extra work wasn't just a ruse.) Because the extra work wasn't in the original bid, the final cost was higher, but not by a huge amount.

I lost power in part of my older house. After checking all the basic problems, I found that the problem was very confusing with power being back feed to outlets that should not have power.

I found Mirsky on Yelp and called with an immediate call back from Matt. Matt was very helpful in giving me all the information I needed concerning pricing, time of arrival and how much time he thought that it might take.

Sean arrived at my house at the promised time and went right to work. After discussing the problem with me, Sean began troubleshooting with an idea of what he was looking for. He went almost straight to the problem and in no time had the problem fixed as well as cleaning up some old bad wiring. Sean is very knowledgeable and professional.

At first I was concerned that this problem was going to be expensive, but Sean had it fixed in no time and the cost was WAY less that I expected.

If you are not using Mirsky, you are probably using the wrong electrical company. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

We have a 1958 Ranch home which was not very well maintained before we moved in. It has great potential, but this lovely economy has given us a hard time in getting things done ourselves. Our electrician understood our concern and love for the house as well as our need to get things done quickly and cost effectively. When Don came out, we had a very scary situation with sparks flying off of corroded wires.

He was very quick and honest about the severity of the situation, urging us to do the remaining work as quickly as possible, and he took the time to estimate the length of time and work that would be needed to complete the job. He worked very quickly and was friendly.

It's not easy to be a mom of two young kids and have strangers come into your home, but Don was very nice and patient of my curious 3-year-old. We're happy to be having them back at the end of the month to finish the job.

I have just used these people to install a large chandelier. It required lots of scaffolding and 3 people to lift so not a trivial job. After contacting them they got back in under an hour and Matt the estimator came round as arranged two days later and gave me a quote. Two days after that Nate and the guys came round and did the job. Very quick and professional, they cleaned up after completion and all at the price quoted. What more can you want - they do what they say, when the say at the price they say. It should always work like this.

Matt came out as soon as I contacted Mirsky, completed a walkthrough of the work needed to be done and provided me with an esitmate within the next day. He was thorough, provided lots of additional information (e.g. permits, insured) and explained all the task that will be accomplished by the journeyman.

Bryon showed up at my home and did a phenomenal job. I initially had thought (from my conversation with Matt) that to install a new light fixture in my study would require them to cut holes on the ceiling, Bryon went out of his way to figure a way to pull the necessary wires to install it without cutting any holes. Amazing work ethics and very professional in getting all the task done in the smallest amount of time.

Called Mirsky after my DYI husband blew the electrical from the circuit box to the dryer and was scheduled the next morning. Steve arrived on time, knew what needed to be done and also installed a new wire & plug on the dryer (my husband shorted it out as well), replaced three 30 yr old outlets with covers in the garage after offering us that option with no pressure to up-sell. The job took exactly the time I thought it would since our family business growing up was construction.

Both my husband & I are very pleased with the service, great attitude and knowledge Steve has, cleanliness and options to get it done right and up to code. Paid far less than I thought considering other companies quotes were vague and wouldn't address the dryer at all!

I'm thrifty and picky so its hard to get me to give anyone this good of a review and I've used other sites for different types of contractors over the years.
Will definitely use them in the future if needed though I am keeping my husband away from fixing anything electrical around here again!

I've used Mirsky twice now and definitely consider them my electrician of choice. First time I had GFCI outlets installed and second time to install a bathroom fan/light, amongst a few other things. It was easy to schedule appointments, and they were prompt and professional. The same electrician, Dale came out both times. And both times he graciously addressed other electrical issues that had come up. I called Mirsky Electric today and Matt called back right away. I had some very minor work to be done. Within an hour, Jean (as in French for John) was at my door and quickly and efficiently took care of the problems. He was also extremely friendly and pleasant, didn't complain when I asked him to take his shoes off (like a lot of contractors would do) and let me tag around with him asking him dumb questions the whole time. Realistically, these were things that many people would have done on their own but electrical stuff makes me nervous.

I had a minor issue with a faulty breaker that cut the power to my garage door and a spare refrigerator in the garage. I called a couple other electricians that friends had recommended -- one never called me back after multiple messages from me, and the other said it would be weeks before they could get to me. I saw the good reviews for Mirsky, filed out a form on their website, got a call back within 30 minutes letting me know that they had a guy in my area and would it be okay if he came in the next half hour! So within an hour, the job was done. So much for the poor response of those competitors. I'd highly recommend these guys.

We needed to install some security lights - and I called three electricians (including the one that did the entire remodel at our home) that either said they would call me back once they checked their schedule - or that never called me back after repeated phone calls. Matt at Mirsky contact me with in minutes of me reaching out. Told me they were booked out a few weeks - but added me to the schedule. He then called me back and told me he was able to rearrange things to get me in sooner. He sent Don out to provide me a quote and walk me through our options. Don was a pleasure and very knowledgeable - showed up on time and very professional. I received a quote with in 24 hours. Don came back to do the install - did the job quicker than anticipated which came in less than the quote they provided me. I've since called them several times and both Matt and Don have been great to work with. I've worked with 4-5 different electrical companies in the great Seattle / East side area. No one has the level of service as these two.

I had a variety of non-emergency electrical needs and contacted Mirsky about (because of Yelp reviews) via their contact form. I did this at about 5:30pm and was surprised by a response from manager Matt a couple of hours later. We emailed back and forth a few times over the next hour or two in order for him to better understand the job. He had Don to my house at noon the next day. Don was on point and on purpose. He got straight to work after a quick walk thru and did everything I'd asked for in an efficient manner. The estimate was for 2.5 hours work and the final tally was quite close at 3 hrs. In this time, Don installed 2 dimmer switches, 1 traditional switch, 1 socket switch, troubleshooted and fixed a broken GFI, and installed a 110/30 service in my garage for my RV. I have absolutely no complaints and will turn to them for any/all future needs. Nice to have a good electrical company in your Rolodex.

I had a great experience with Mirsky Electric! I found them on Yelp and liked their reviews so I gave them a call to come replace my three thermostats. Matt Morningstar was wonderful responding to my email immediately. When I couldn't provide him with an answer he needed, he took the time out of his daily life to stop by my house to verify the voltage - no charge! Then he scheduled Mike to come out and do the actual replacements. Mike was not only efficient but very friendly and even provided some much appreciated tips to help with my newborn son. Incredibly prompt, friendly and efficient service. The lights and outlets in my kitchen stopped working the night before, apparently due to poor wiring of an outlet. I called at 8am the next morning and left a message. I got a return call within ten minutes, Matt showed up within 45 minutes, and the problem was completely fixed within an hour and a half of my initial call- and for a very reasonable price. Called Mirsky Electric based on Yelp reviews and am very satisfied with the work they did. I needed to have an outlet placed to service an outdoor fountain. Matt came out to give me an estimate (which included a 10% Yelp discount, which I didn't ask for...what a welcome surprise) and sent it to me within 24 hours. We had the work done and fountain working within the week. The electrician that did the work was on-time, very pleasant and left the work site exactly how he found it. Had some electrical work done by Mirsky that involved installing a motion sensor light, installing some gfcis and fixing the grounding on some outlets. They installed the light to exactly how I wanted with little to no explanation. Looks professionally done. They made sure I actually needed the GFCIs. It turned out I only needed one so they revised the job cost to reflect that. One thing I noticed after the grounding job was done was that one of the outlets was reading incorrectly. I told the service manager about it late at night. He responded immediately and had the electrician come in the next day to fix it. From this job I can tell Mirsky is a professional and honest service. Will be using them again.

Mirsky Electric rewired our 1919 house, adding outlets to the second floor and bringing everything up to code. The communication was easy and friendly, I had all options explained to me, and the work was done quickly and with no surprises. Oh and they were affordable - on my budget, they helped me figure out what I could do now, and what I could do later. Any additional requests I had were tracked and added to an invoice so I knew before the work started what I'd be paying for. I would definitely recommend them!

I didn't have a clue who to call for an electrical lighting problem in our kitchen, so I first read the reviews on Yelp, and Mirsky Electric caught my eye because of the excellent reviews. They sounded exactly like what I was looking for, so I gave them a call, and they completely lived up to their reputation. The high points in their service were customer service, expertise, follow through, and good value. They are now at the top of my list to call whenever an electrical problem comes up, and will gladly recommend them.

I had Dale from Mirsky Electric come in for a second opinion on fixing an outlet, after another electrician told me you couldn't get to it because the source is behind my fireplace. Dale came in determined to fix the problem. Unfortunately, he was unable to actually fix it, but he explained to me where the problem was, and what would be the best way to get at it (removing the board on top of the fireplace, as opposed to the fireplace or the tiles around it), and even sent me some contacts who could fix it. Overall he was very knowledgable about electrical work and construction in general, and did everything he could to help.

Great service by Don from Mirsky Electric! Don hung a crystal chandalier that weighed 50+ pounds. He put in the the correct support needed to hold the chandalier and did a great job! Don was really friendly, very knowledgable and fast! Matt was very helpful getting this job scheduled! Thanks Don for a job well done! When we sold our last house, the inspector noted the quality of the electrical work we'd recently had done and called it out to the new buyers as a huge plus. We hired Mirsky Electric again when we moved into our new house. The electricians' work is high-quality and the office staff is professional and courteous-- you're working with someone who actually answers their phones, schedules and bills accurately. Definitely recommend them.

Sometimes things go sideways and I need to reassess doing business with Mirsky. What happened first...After removing my baseboards the electrician didn't have the plastic covers with him to cover the thermostat holes (the ones that cost 15 cents) and had to go get them and ask for permission not to charge me for the road time..........what? He also didn't have the supplies to hang the chandelier and it just didn't get done though I had said that was what needed to be done when I called in. so, I yelped in a strong way. After reading my rating, I heard from Mr Mirsky who was extremely apologetic and offered to come out and install the chandelier for free. That was an amazing offer and I felt the need to change my rating from 2 stars to 5. I had already contacted someone else but I am a believer. Yes, things started out poorly but excellent follow up customer service always makes things better.

I was changing out a light switch in the master bedroom last weekend when I hooked up the white wires wrong. When I turned the circuit breaker back on, I believe I short-circuited the connection because nothing in the room was turning on. I fixed the wire connections and flipped the circuit breaker again and still no power in the room. Well, the worst part was that it was evening, so of course, no electricians were open, and I was thinking, Man, I have no Internet now, and I have to take a shower in the dark!:P Well, I didn't really have to, I could take a shower in the common bathroom, but I digress...I look up electricians on Yelp, and I see that Mirsky Electric has an emergency line. I call the number and talk to Don who talked me through what I had to do, and lo and behold, the power came back on! Huge relief!!! Not only did he save me ~$200 but also from having a very inconvenient evening. This is my first time writing a Yelp review, so you must know that this business totally impressed me!
