Actually had a few issues at the outset with a hot tub install and panel upgrade; however, it was Custom Electric's handling of those issues that prompted me to write this review. Long-story-short, we were not pleased with the aesthetics of the original hot tub installation and the cost to re-do certain portions was prohibitive. Custom Electric sent out Zach and Travis - - who did not do the original work - - and they were understanding, apologetic and helpful in making things right. They advocated on my behalf with the company owners and then I had the opportunity to speak with part-owner Josh, who acknowledged my concerns and offered me a fair deal to ensure the job was done to my satisfaction. Zach and Travis then did the work.

Zach and Travis, and their team, worked for probably 8+ hours in some pretty scorching heat to finish the hot tub install and upgrade the panel, and they walked me through the permitting process and handled that end soup-to-nuts. I felt they were practical and smart in their approach, and they were friendly and made things easy. Good experience. Would ask to work with Zach and Travis specifically, and would hire Custom Electric again for sure.

They helped install an electric car charger in the garage. They were quick to respond to queries. While overall it is a bit expensive to install an electric car charger, they were pretty competitive in pricing they did honor to their original quotes and they promptly showed up and got the job done quickly, cleaned up the area before they left. They arranged for inspection by the city inspector as well. I would most certainly recommend custom electrical for any electrical work.

We had an outlet burn out due to an EV charger with too many amps for the outlet. Billy expertly fixed the outlet and suggested that we have a long-overdue dedicated wall EV charger installed in our garage. Zach came by the same week and set us up with the new charger, and he patiently stuck around while I set up the app and got everything updated, which was above and beyond. We will definitely call CES going forward for any electrical issues that arise!

Custom Electrical services did a great job on the installation of a Tesla J1772 wall charger. The technician was very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions I had prior to the installation. They did a good job at concealing the tubing for the 220/240v circuit from the electrical panel to the charging unit. They arranged for inspection by the city inspector as well.
We will definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a wall charger installed.

Appreciate the responsiveness and workmanship. They had to cut into the wall and they swept up and vacuumed after themselves which I really appreciated. My outlet was tripping and they came back out to fix it.

Staff showed up and looked at the job. They quoted a price and said they could start right away. The price was within a couple of hundred dollars of a previous quote received over a year ago. So, I said yes. They went off to get the appropriate supplies. It took then less than an hour to install a dedicated outlet. The indoor area was cleaned nicely. The garage area was less tidy in the cleanup but nothing outrageous. The two employees were friendly, polite, and quick workers.

A bit of a late review, but I definitely wanted to say that these guys are definitely amazing at their job and fun people to talk to! They were super responsive at my request and were very flexible with my schedule. In addition, they gave me a discount due to overestimating the length from my breaker to where my Tesla car will be in my garage.

Out of all the other places that I looked at, definitely contact these guys for your next project!

I got a Tesla and then reached out to CES for the installation of the charging. To be honest, I've reached several company and CES is definitely the fastest responded one. Our house's panel is full and quite a big project for them to finished.
However, it's really a pleasure to have Alex and his coworkers to work with. The work is well-done and everything has been putting back after work. Rated 10 out of 10, and definitely will come back if I need the other work to do.

I had a Tesla EV charger installed and the entire process was great! I requested a quote on Yelp and got a response quickly, from there the scheduling and estimates were very quick and efficient. On the day of the install they called and texted me ahead of time, and there was also a live tracker to see where the electrician was. Don installed the charger for me. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and explained the install thoroughly. He saw my panel was actually not full and took off the cost to reconfigure the panel, I appreciate the transparency! Overall, I'd highly recommend Custom Electrical Services.

Just finished my 3rd project over 4 years with Custom Electrical. So far they've been involved in our EV Charger, Outdoor Garden power and lighting projects. There's so many ways I could list why we like working with them.

First the office is super well organized, and crew show up on time every time. The crew are professional, super friendly, knowledgeable, give great advice especially on our larger projects. They even helped us save a few bucks by shuffling around planning too. They got the work done quick and clean, dealt with permitting, and made sure we were happy that everything was good to go.

Pricing wise they're middle of the pack, but you get what you pay for, and their reliability is rock solid. We will definitely use them again.

The team here did everything right. I sent a request online and was pretty detailed in what I was looking for. It was clear that they read what I wrote when they promptly called back so the quote I got was accurate. The only difference between the final bill and my quote was that my guestimate for how much wire was needed was off by 50 ft. I measured in my head, they measured with a laser. The guys took care to make sure everything looked neat and professional. This was a hot tub install, they came prepared, having read the instructions for my specific model, so setup went smoothly. I had to replace and relocated my shutoff switch, and they even cleaned up the old one, capping it off for me with a blank plate, which they didn't have to do. When payment time came, their accounting staff was helpful in helping me resolve an issue.

I had Custom Electrical Services install a level 2 EV charger in my garage, hardwired with a 60 amp circuit. I got quotes from several electricians in the area, CES was reasonable on their charges but also the only one who knew about a WA State sales tax benefit for installing EV chargers. Office admin and manager were friendly. I didn't have to wait long for an appointment. The team showed up on time, was friendly and professional, answered my questions and made everything look good. Invoicing was clear and payment was super easy.

After experiencing an extended power outage in January (my family and I live in a rural area where a power outage takes 3+ days to be restored), I messaged CES to have a whole home standby generator and automatic transfer switch purchased and installed. Their website clearly showed that they perform this type of work including other services and rough estimates (kudos and great job!). Within a few minutes, the company responded on Yelp, provided a rough estimate, and asked for pictures of my power panel so they could provide a more accurate quote. Within a few days, Joe and Caleb visited my home to survey the site and answer my questions, and later sent me the final estimate with a detailed breakdown. The company followed up on Yelp and via email regularly to see if I had any questions, which was appreciated.

Once some natural gas questions and logistics were addressed by my utilities company, PSE, we were able to schedule Joe and Caleb to come back and install the equipment a few weeks later. CES coordinated the power shut off with PSE and contracted out the gas line work to Bowers Plumbing & Remodel, who did a satisfactory job. Even though I offered to help haul the equipment because of the steep terrain at our home, Joe and Caleb politely declined and was able to get extra help from more crew members to come by and carry the 400+ lb generator down our steep walkway. The install took two days because of all the work that needed to be done, which was reasonable because of hauling the equipment, all the electrical work, and the gas line work needed underneath my front deck.

When the work was finished, Caleb called Generac to register and activate my generator on my behalf, and then both Joe and Caleb simulated a power outage (my generator quickly came on within 10 seconds) and explained to me how my generator works. At the end, they cleaned up the generator's pallets and boxes in my driveway like it was never there in the first place. On all the days they were at my home, Joe and Caleb notified me when they were on my way and were always on time. They were extremely professional, polite, and respected our wishes for no shoes or covered shoes in the carpeted areas (our home has light carpets where the power panel is).

The following week, some lights in my home was browning out (dimming and pulsing). I was concerned that it had something to do with the generator, so I called CES and they sent Joe and Caleb back to check everything out. Based on some voltage readings, they found that the issue was on the utility company (PSE) side. Joe contacted PSE and provided his report on my behalf. It turns out that PSE was doing work down the road to replace some transformers, which ended up fixing the issue we were having.

We really appreciated CES, Joe, and Caleb for all their services and for making sure that everything was working as expected and that we were happy. This company is excellent, I highly recommend them, and would work with them in the future if needed.

I had Don, Jack, and James working on my home I purchased recently, they seemed like a great group of men and did the job fast and efficient. I had them upgrade my panel to be larger ( also the cabling is much cleaner behind the panel than the spaghetti mess it was before, true professionals for sure ), install a car charger, and repair the hot tub electric work, and they did great! I have already recommended friends to them for future work. They did great and I can't recommend them enough. They even fixed a small issue that the HVAC electrician ( separate company ) messed up on.

I used CES to install my standby generator. Their price was very reasonable.

Kacie was quick to respond to emails and the job was well done. The electricians that came out were polite and knowledgeable.

The only issues we had were two different days that workers were supposed to come out and didn't show. No explanation, no phone call...nothing. I waited around so both days were wasted.

Better communication by the company owners would be helpful.

I'd use them again for their tech expertise, but not customer service.

I rarely write reviews, today was a experience that was exceptional that deserves this review. Don and James from custom electric were a pleasure to work with from the moment they came in. They listened patiently to my requirements and worked out a solution that turned out better than i expected. They were fun to talk too. They installed a Level 2 EV charging outlet in my garage got it done in the time promised and even coached me on being careful when inserting the charger outlet for the first time due to the nature of the long prongs in the EV chargers that come with the car, really appreciate that and not have to learn it the shocking way :-)

Needed to have our electrical panel replaced because ours was a fire hazard, plus we had to fix that to fix our outlet on the back of the house. We were finally able to complete a panel replacement job for our home yesterday after having started it just about four months ago. Custom Electric Services was at no fault for this long timeframe, but I wanted to share that background as my experience in working with the company through the many phone calls, site visits and reschedules that had to happen in coordinating with Seattle City Lights was incredibly pleasant and stress-less.

Everyone I had talked to either on the phone or on site was always friendly and happy to answer any of the many, many questions I had throughout the process. In particular, I wanted to give a shout out to Peter and Evan (I think?) who had come out to our house three or four times throughout the last several months.

Peter in particular, throughout the whole process, was always very friendly and kept us in the loop at every step, including delays in inspections, the work he was doing, and updates as the project went on. He was always happy to answer my questions (there were a lot) and even saved me from frying some electronics due to an ignorant wiring job on my end (thanks!). I'm thoroughly impresses with the quality and skill he provided in the work on our house. He also made friends with our notoriously new-people-hating dog!

Regarding pricing, after originally receiving quotes from 4-5 different companies, Custom Electric Services was very reasonable and sat right about in the middle of those that I received. The communication and other reviews I had read leading up to the work had made it an easy decision early on.

Being new to home ownership, I'll definitely be using CES again for any other future needs.

I had a NEMA charger installed for an electrical vehicle. Custom Electrical gave me a straight-forward, easy to understand quote. They sent me a form to fill in so that I didn't have to pay sales tax, and the email directions were clear. Jeff and an assistant came this morning. They sent a text with an ETA, which I appreciate. They did the work and cleaned up. This is the 3rd time I've had Jeff and Custom Electrical do work for me, and they have been consistently professional, competent, and pleasant to work with. I will be calling them when I'm ready for my next remodel.

Fantastic service from Custom Electrical. I needed a wall charger for an EV installed. They were quick to respond to my original request, were able to quote the work from photos that I took, and were clear with their costs. Communication leading up to installation were great, including morning-of phone call to let me know they were on the way. The electrician discussed the pros/cons of the various mount points I was considering, we decided on one and the work was completed within a couple of hours. The electrician had even pre-scheduled the inspection, so no waiting around for an inspector a few days after install!

Custom Electrical replaced 2 ugly can lights with wafer lights and add 2 wafer lights. They did not have to tear apart the ceiling. They brought an outdoor plug to code and did a few other minor projects. Billy, the electrician, was friendly, prompt and professional. He did great work and explained what he was doing. Custom Electrical was very responsive throughout the estimate, scheduling, and project. The bid was very fair and the one change we made was also fairly priced. Billy even made our dog's day by playing with him for a few minutes before he left!

Scheduling the initial appt was easy, they showed up on time, kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. We decided to proceed and schedule the work. All businesses are booked out, so each appt is weeks out. So we take the day off, wait, and no call, no show. They said they have employees out sick when I call, and they apologized. We schedule again for a week out, they email the night before and say they can't make it. So I started searching for a new company to do the work we need done.

June 2021 - Custom Electrical Services (CES) installed a new outlet for me in a fireplace (preparing to install a gas insert). It required drilling through brick, and when we encountered challenges, they demonstrated creative thinking to find a good solution without having to rip out drywall. I worked with 2 individuals, and both were extremely professional and friendly. They answered all my questions, and most importantly they showed up when they said they would, and they got the job done right.

They even took the extra effort to clean up existing wiring nearby and fix mistakes made by previous electricians or DIYers. I will be calling Custom Electrical for my high voltage needs moving forward, very pleased with my experience. Paying the invoice online afterward was also easy (they currently use quickbooks online, very simple for me as a customer).

I don't think these guys are the cheapest, but for quality work, great communications, and showing up on time, I'll pay a fair price. Good work, CES.

Ended up working with another company but I wanted to leave a review for Custom Electrical as a way to say thanks for their time spent. For starters, I called a dozen companies and Custom Electrical was one of a handful that got back to me right away. They also gave me a free quote and did the quote promptly. They gave me the quote right on the spot. They owner seemed to know his stuff and took a good deal of time to understand the job. In the end, I went with another company, but I can tell this is a 5-start business just based on my interaction with them.

Had a EV charger for a NEMA 14-50 outlet, and a freezer instal in a garage and it was installed in a good timely manner. Prices were good compared to other quotes I had or never received back from. Custom was really the only company that felt like they had a good running business in terms of communication, quoting, and field availability.

Electrician came and installed it in under an hour and he also gave me good tips and pointers for future projects I had in mind that needed for electrical work. Inspection came a few days later and was easily passed. Would recommend in the future.

I hired Custom Electrical Services to install a Chargepoint EV charger at my parking space. Even though I don't live in the area, they did a great job of keeping me informed with great communication throughout the project. It was a team effort as I received communication from five different individuals in their office - I appreciate that they have an organized deep bench of staff members.
The project was done within about a week of me first reaching out! Very impressive responsiveness.

I had two dedicated outlets installed yesterday. The communication has been great. The quote was really good. The service was excellent. There was a confusion with the quote, and I realized later it had to do with confusion with how it was quoted which was partially my fault and partially my wife's confusion... so i guess totally my fault considering I didnt express to my wife what I was hoping for in the pantry. Either way because of the confusion they gave a great price. I am so far extremely happy with the service we received and plan on getting some additional work done in the future.

These folks were fantastic to work with from quote to work. Very quick to reply to quote requests with competitive pricing. That being said, the best part is that they delivered. James showed up on time and confirmed his arrival time with a text beforehand. He was a pro and extremely knowledgeable. He found a couple of issues that weren't on the list and made sure to point them out and we got them taken care of.

We've got some other projects coming up and they'll 100% be the choice for that work.

This would have been a 5 star review if the work had been completed by Daniel. He deserves 5 stars. We had a different technician on the 2nd day who drilled holes in our walls unnecessarily and messed up our wiring. Daniel came back on the 3rd day to repair the damage done by the un-named tech. All good now. I don't know what electricians charge but these folks, while good, seem high. Be sure to get estimates. I recommend them highly with the above caveat.

Custom Electrical quoted me $385 for labor to change out two ceiling lights in my house. I agreed to the price and they made an appointment for tomorrow to do the work. Now, the day before, they message me and cancel, telling me that my tasks are below their minimum. I replied and asked them why they quoted me a price and booked an appointment if my tasks were beneath their minimum. They have not replied so far. Now I need to scramble and find a different electrician. The new lights were going to be a surprise for my wife.

Edit: After I posted the review above the business messaged me to apologize, promised to retrain their sales staff, and offered to do the job at a discount. This won't help me as I already scrambled to find another electrician on short notice, but want to add the update to my review.

Found these guys on thumbtack. They responded very quickly and were easy to schedule with. They came out and did the job well (replacing lights on the ceiling of my garage.) Their cost was reasonable / fitting of the job. I would / and will use them again when I have another need.

I had a very old circuit board with loose breakers that needed to be replaced. Custom Electrical Services was extremely professional and communicative and came out very soon after to replace the breakers. My technician, Chad, was on time and communicated well on the status of his work.

After the breakers were replaced, I noticed that a section of outlets in my house weren't working. Chad came back out right away to look into the issue. Even though it wasn't caused by the breaker replacements, Chad spent time fixing the issue for me.

I worked with Aleks throughout the entire process. Full score in job execution. The work was done up to standards and as expected. However taking away 1 star due to following:
1. The guy who showed up for service was not wearing a face mask, we had to remind him twice. He wore it after we asked, although without covering the nose area.
2. The original estimate that I was quoted was way over-priced. This is a pattern I have seen with Custom Electrical, they have a hard time understanding the scope of work from initial description of work (may be it is due to my communication skills). My previous experience with a bigger project was also similar, where I had to pick another provider due to their miss-understanding of work involved (even though Custom Electrical quoted me a lower price).

Don and Nate came over first thing in the morning to install some Ring devices for me. I got a fair bid, and the technicians were timely, knowledgeable, and respectful of my house (i.e. they took their shoes off). The work (kitchen recessed lights, new outlets) ran into a snag but they came back out and fixed everything up to code. Talking with the front office folks was also generally pleasant as well, moreso than other electricians that I've worked with in the past couple of years.

We called for help when half our house lost power. A nice lady named Maria suggested we call the power company because someone from our area had just called with the same issue. If she is any representation of the company's integrity, we will definitely use this company for any future electrical needs. Note* It is possible to lose power in only half of your house. It's called a partial outage.

Update: So PSE came to our house and we actually had an internal issue. Again we called CES and we were lucky to get Billy sent to us on his way home from work. He was very professional and found the problem right away. He also taught us how to check for future reoccurrence of the issue. I would highly recommend this company for any electrical issues.

I reached out to Custom Electrical Services' via their website after they were suggested to me by a friend. I received a phone call from Josh the very next day to give me information and pricing about the work I needed done. I only need a ceiling fan on a vaulted ceiling in my master bedroom changed out, so I knew it was a small job and something that may not be worth it to them. To my surprise, albeit they had a job minimum, they were more than willing to do the job and do it quickly.

Josh and I had it scheduled within a week or so of me originally contacting them. On Monday Travis and Jeremy arrived with the fan I had picked out (they picked it up for me!) and got right to work. They even ran to Home Depot for me and picked up a part (because I ordered the wrong size) in the middle of the job. They were kind, quick and very professional. We hired Custom Electrical Services to install some recessed lighting in our home.

The good: called within 1 business day to give quote over the phone, they stick to the quote even if it takes longer than expected, on the day of installation they arrived on time, pricing seemed competitive with our other quote we received.

The not so good: with out telling us they left two big black garbage bags sitting outside. These won't fit in our garbage can so looks like we'll be making a trip to the dump. My wife was at home during the installation and she said that some of the conversations they had were inappropriate being that they knew she was sitting right there.

Overall the work was done well, but just not as professional as what we expected. We will be going with another company next time.

I called this company after they responded to my Yelp request for a quote.
Kristin's name was on the Yelp message, but I got nasty Maria on the phone. Kristin quoted $385 +tax to troubleshoot/repair my CAT5 jack's. Maria said $200 to $300 per drop. When I mentioned her quote was wildly different from the email through Yelp, she turned nasty and hung up on me. When I called back, the call went to voicemail. If this is the way they treat people at the beginning, imagine what you'll get if things go wrong on your job. Thanks but no thanks. I'll take my money to a company with manners.

Found this company on Yelp. I rely heavily on Yelp, so thank you Yelpers for helping to provide details about your experiences! The prior reviews is what made me contact this company. Kristen was super fast and responsive to inquire about more details and then the office followed up quickly with an estimate. They seemed more professional and responsive than the other companies who provided information, which made us select them. Their quote was in the same range as the other electricians too. When Don came out to check out the site, he was thorough and talked through the various options to install an EV charger in a detached garage. We didn't have an electrical panel in the garage, which is required for code with a 240v outlet, so that increased the pricing and the work. Don tried to think of the best possible way to run conduit and install a box in the garage as economical and visually appealing as possible. We really appreciated this care.
Alex and team came out and did the installation and then returned to adjust a few things, which needed much more time than was estimated. Alex kept a super positive attitude and was eager to ensure that we were happy with the work. We also interacted with Josh, who was very helpful and accommodating and wanted to make sure that we were very satisfied customers. And as an additional follow up, Don returned on site to meet the electrical inspector and to additionally talk with us to again, confirm we were happy with the work. We received alot of attentiveness and time for a more complicated installation and wiring for an electrical vehicle.
We will absolutely call Custom Electrical for future electrical work. They are a high quality, respectful organization with professionals who are committed to earning customer loyalty. Can't get much better than that!

Our electrician Joe came out right away and assess the problem and scheduled it within a couple of days to come out and fix our issues. Our kitchen electricity went out and our heater and so I had to call out to have our power shut off for them to fix issue and they had it done within a couple of hours. I made a call to Custom Electrical Services (CES) to troubleshoot an issue with power going out to 2/3 rooms on a single circuit. James and Alex came out to take a look. After about 10 minutes, James figured out that there was probably arcing going on from a particular outlet due to the previous contractors not properly connecting it using the push-in connection. After rewiring the outlets in the circuit using the screw connection, everything was back up and running.

I'm thrilled with the work CES did, and give a shout-out to electricians like James who take the time to educate their customers and answer any of their questions. That truly is customer service. Keep it up, Jay and crew!

They sent one electrician who investigated and thought it might be underneath but he wasn't prepared with a paper suit (I wouldn't want to climb under without!). We have had 3 jobs done with this company, the first two were done really well and were primarily high voltage electrical work. They completed the work on time and did an excellent job with a reasonable price. Unfortunately the low voltage work that was done left much to be desired. The low-voltage work was done in two phases, with 3 separate visits. They'd initially come in and wired the entire house plus a detached garage and did that work quite well. Unfortunately a contractor we had working on the detached garage cut the ethernet line about 30 feet into the garage. This required us to bring Custom Electrical back in, but the guy that came out was different and seemed to not want to do the work. So we had to reschedule to a later date. This time a different guy comes out and while our initial quote was for 550 dollars to run an entirely new line, but the electrician felt that simply putting a coupling plug would work rather than replacing the entire line. We agreed under the assumption that the cost of the job would go down. Custom Electric sent a bill that was exactly the cost for replacing the entire line. We disagree strongly feeling that they spent far less time on the job. Additionally they left our main house attic access cover off after leaving, which required my wife and daughter to climb a ladder to close and latch. Very unprofessional. I'll not use this company again even though they did do acceptable electrical work for our initial two jobs. I couldn't be more amazed by these guys. Very professional. Great price. They could have put the electrical lines along outside of my house which would have looked bad. Instead, they did the amazing thing to write it through the crawl space. Extra hard work for them but brilliant job.

Really great service! From the moment I called to make an appt, to the moment the technician left our home...it was great service. It is so common to feel ignored, not listened to, or talked down to by people who are used to working in this field and who are used to working with homeowners who don't know the first thing about electricical issues. But the whole team did a great job of listening FIRST and addressing our concerns FIRST before jumping in and ignoring what we said. What a breath of fresh air. Our electrician has 17+ years of experience and it shows. (But he managed to build our trust and show us how qualified he is without coming across as pompous or condescending.) He shared tips and tricks while he was here and it was very obvious his main priority was twofold: (1) safety, and (2) saving money...in both the long- and short-term. He was also very transparent about the things he wasn't very sure about, or things he didn't feel competent enough to work on. (We have a mobile home, and he has more experience with stick built homes.)

Thank you, again!! Will definitely return to Custom Electrical Services for our future electrical issues.

In case this review helps anyone: we had the technician repair an old exterior electrical panel on a 1979 Sherman Manor mobile home. Took him less than an hour to diagnose and begin fixing the issue. Less than 2 hours later and a very decent price point = very happy customers.

We recently had a family member pass away out of state and found that closing out their house for sale was a much bigger job than we could have imagined. One of the issues was a rather nasty electrical mess that needed professionals to address. Custom Electrical Services was my first phone call but Maria informed me they were completely booked up for the day, Friday, and that they do not normally work on the weekends. She asked me to give her a little time to see if she could find any of their crew that might take a weekend job. After an our she called back and said she had not found anyone but would continue to call the electricians. I started calling more companies, we were only in Seattle for the weekend to meet realtors and the movers and we really needed the electrical work done before the house could be listed.

I was leaving a message for the 8th electrician company when Maria called me back saying she found one of the crew that was willing to come in and do the work. She was up front and transparent about Weekend hourly rates, and all the associated costs. We needed that, it let us plan ahead for the sting of the weekend rates. The job quote was for 2 hours, Tim and his partner had it done in 90 minutes and it was perfect. The professionalism and attention to safety concerns was outstanding.

Brett came to my house to fix / switch out an outdoor light and fix an outdoor outlet that wasn't working. He was able to quickly assess what needed to be fixed and addressed it on the spot. I was shocked by the high charges for 3 items that took just over one hour. Their prior cost estimate never arrived by email, but they had no trouble sending my invoice. What I caught from the electrician, who did an excellent job and loved my dog, was that they charge by the project, not by the hour. He knocked the price down to $ 360, which I agreed was fairer than the exorbitant rate for all three projects. My message is that they need to due a much better job of explaining the true charges up front because I would never have hired them on this per project cost basis...a little I've one hour, $ 360 plus tax. Again the email(s), if they sent them (and I checked my junk mail) never arrived--but the invoice sure did!

I was having some issues with appliances having random issues, and my recently installed ductless heat pump system stop working completely. I attributed this to electrical surges. I reached out to CES and they were quick to schedule the job and charged a reasonable price. Assuming the wiring was put on a separate breaker, I trusted things would work fine. Low and behold, on Thanksgiving Day while watching the football games, the circuit kept blowing, when we plugged in the electric TURKEY FRYER outside on the deck. The choice was Turkey or Football. What a way to spoil a party.

The owner said; we wouldn't typically add a dedicated circuit for new lighting. We'd come off of an existing local circuit. Deep fryers usually draw a fair amount of power and it's common for them to cause nuisance tripping. they hadn't wired it separate, and sorry for the inconvenience.

BUYER BEWARE. Get the scope of the job in writing before the job. I think 2 lights and 6 outlets should have been on it's own circuit. WOW! BBB here I come

I would highly recommend Custom Electrical Services LLC based on the recent work they just completed. We had some issues with a tripped breaker that would not reset and some poor previous electrical work on the installation of a generator & new electrical panel completed by a contractor a few years back during a remodel. Jeff came out, outlined a number of options and costs to address the immediate problem as well as long term ones. We ended doing all the work as we wanted to resolve our issues all at once. We needed a Tesla wall connector and 120 v outlet installed. I requested estimates on yelp from 5 different companies. They provided a reasonable price (only 1 was lower). Where they stood out was responsiveness. We were able to go back and forth very quickly to work out details of the project, answer my questions patiently, and provide an accurate estimate. When it came to completing the work, they showed up on time, did great work, and there were no surprises. They were also on top of the charger tax break and their electronic invoice system is very convenient. Would definitely choose again.

I'm always nervous calling a service professional when I have an emergency situation as I feel like I am at the mercy of whatever they want to tell me. I recently had a situation where my electricity went out in three areas of the house and my minor electrical knowledge of flipping the circuit breakers did not fix the problem.

I was referred into Custom Electrical Services and just hoped for the best. I got the best. The owner, Jay showed up right on time for our initial appointment where he did a thorough inspection of all of our switches and outlets that were affected. He went into the attic as well as the crawl space under the house, and obviously checked the circuit box in the garage. He made a diagnosis very quickly and realized he would need another electrician with him to complete what would be a somewhat complex, but efficient procedure. We scheduled an appointment for 9:30 the next morning. Jay and Greg showed up right on time again.

Time is money when you hire an electrician and I feared this might take some time for what they needed to do. I mean they were drilling and wiring and as I listened to the conversations they were having, it was clear they were both very experienced electricians. They were also both very professional and courteous with me.

Despite the complexity of the situation, Jay and Greg finished the job in only an hour! In fact they finished in 56 minutes and spent the last 4 minutes vaccuming up any mess that they had made. I was extremely satisfied with the cost of the project as well and would recommend Custom Electrical Services to anybody.

My mistake in going off reviews and not getting multiple bids. I needed some electrical work done at my house in Renton and I got a bid from this company. The bid seemed high at over $700 but the owner assured me the scope was enough that it would require 2 electricians for 3 to 4 hours. In the end it was one guy that showed up for 3 hours and he spent some of the time going to the local hardware store(unprepared). They also charge a 3.5% fee for credit card payments. The only reason they got two stars was because the work itself was fine albeit overpriced. I don't appreciate being lied to by the owner.

UPDATE I sent an email before I left this review and I never received a reply. The owner left a response on my google review so I called and left a message but received no reply to that as well. It would appear the reply to the review was intended to improve image without any intention of actually following through. Just downgraded from two stars to one.

Just had Custom Electrical out yesterday and I am a very happy customer. As a picky person and new homeowner... one thing I noticed right away- they take their shoes off before entering your house without even being asked! The guy who came to do the quote did this as well as the 2 guys doing the work. Clearly that's a company policy and it's greatly appreciated from neat freaks like me! Alberto and Daniel were a great team. They both were respectful and personable. They installed an outlet in a closet for me, turned two switches around and wired and installed a ceiling fan in our master bedroom. Work was flawless and they were quick. Awesome company! We've had some bad contractor experiences in the not-too-distant past, and solicited for electrical quotes to rewire half of an old 1950s house. Their quote was not only competitive, but stood behind it as I needed to change the statement of work to include rewiring an additional outlet.

On top of that, they not only did the work at a level that I felt was future-proofing it (as an electrical engineer, I can appreciate good electrical architecture design), when I told the electricians that I would be doing the remainder of the house next year they ensured that their work would easily accommodate the remaining work. For which I'll be hiring them to do the work.

They did need to shift the work from the originally committed date (Tuesday) to later in the week (Thursday) due to some emergency work. I wholly understand that this happens having had a few emergencies myself, and they made sure that they took care of us.

I picked them after reading through other Yelp reviews, and can't recommend them enough!

I called Custom Electrical to do some work while remodeling my kitchen, including adding some outlets and fixing things the previous owner hadn't done correctly. I'd had a bad experience with another company who had done a previous job.

Dale came out for the bid and had some great advice. After feeling like the previous company I'd used charged way too much, I thought Custom Electrical's bid was fair. Chad worked on the project and he was great. He was friendly, clean and seems to enjoy his job. He even quickly responded to a call when the cabinet contractor ran into an issue. That was impressive since it turned out he was on vacation. I believe the job ended up taking several hours longer than anticipated due to some issues with how the previous electrical work was done, but I was only charged the amount of the initial bid.

Fantastic service! We are new homeowners and were nervous about calling an electrician. First, someone actually answered the phone when I called! I called Custom Electrical after a friend referred them, and they were able to come out same day (within an hour of calling!). Chad called as he was leaving the job scheduled before us and gave me an expected arrival time. He was professional, patient, and determined to fix a problem that ended up being much bigger than either of us expected. It is clear he takes a lot of pride in his work and he was even great with my pup who is not crazy about new visitors in the house. We live in a 9 unit courtyard that has exterior lights outside our garage doors, down a hallway to an alley, and off the garages into the alley. None of these have been working for some time now. Alberto from Custom just installed two whole house surge protectors in my home. We often get spikes here and what with all the electronics in everything, those spikes can blow out the circuit boards, which can get expensive. Though I think the job was expensive at nearly $1,000 for ~$200 worth of materials and 1 1/2 hours of labor, at least they called me back and actually did the work. Alberto knew what he was doing and talking about and explained to me what I needed to know. He also cleaned up properly and dissuaded me from also getting a mostly redundant behind-the-meter unit. I'd use 'em again.

From the beginning of the process when I asked for a quote to the end when the work was complete, my experience with CES was top notch. Responses to inquiries were quick and I was easily able to get a hold of someone via phone the two times I called. Ben communicated his status the morning of my appointment, showed up on time, and was incredibly friendly and informative as we discussed the work to be done. When I asked him if I could watch and learn, he said absolutely and proceeded to teach me every step of the way, even going so far as to ask if I had any questions several times throughout. Evan joined him with the rest of the materials a bit later after Ben knew exactly what he needed and the two of them worked together to complete a very professional and clean looking job. Both were friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful to me, the customer, and to each other . I would happily have these two back to my house for future work. If I were to pick one thing I was least happy about, it was the price. The cost was quite a bit higher than I expected based on other numbers I gathered. That said, I knew the price going into it and they kept to that number. If cost is all that matters to you, you can almost certainly find someone to do the work cheaper, but you can be confident you're getting a high quality product if you hire CES.

We needed one receptical fixed which shut down the power on one side of our home. In addition - our bathroom ceiling fan and a light over our tub was broken. Greg came and was able to fix all issues. He was honest and was not one of those guys who try to nickle and dime you! He was able to narrow down to the exact issue (turned out to be our GFCI that tripped out) and make the fix. Afterwards, Greg vacuumed all of the mess which was a nice plus! They have the BEST service and prices in all of Washington. Highly recommended!

Alberto Berto Lead Electrician explained what was wrong, what needed to be done and had some upgrade options for the future. No up selling or over selling. Very professional. I see all the great reviews and it is clear why. They are that good. They worked with my home warranty company on the specifics (lots of red tape i'm sure) I felt bad because my house is a mess with stuff piled everywhere but the guys were polite and climbed over stuff to get to the plugs and switches. Awesome experience. I worked with several people at Custom Electrical Services who all contributed to this being a success. It's easy to get bids and pick the lowest number, but there are so many other important factors:

Cost: I got three bids and Custom Electrical offered me the most competitive price. That's a good start.

Reliability and timing: These guys showed up on time and ended on time. They committed the resources to make sure the job got done. Kyle was finishing the job and when he left, he had taken care of every last detail.

Expertise: Luis was managing the job at my house and he is INCREDIBLE. He is smart and has so much experience. He came with fresh ideas and I had never considered, and helped me craft the most perfect lighting plan for my house. I am so grateful for his advice and experience.

Flexibility: I made a few last-minute changes along the way and it was so critical to work with a company that was happy to accommodate these.

Quality of Work: Their work is beautiful. Tidy and thoughtful. No random damage and surprises that you'll find with other contractors. The wiring is clean, and they consider every detail. Luis also took the time to show me all my options so I could make an informed decision, without making any assumptions.

Communication: Excellent across the board. Josh was great in coordinating the job and checking in. Luis kept me informed at every step in the process. Also, between phases and I had a bunch of time-sensitive questions that came up and Luis responded to me instantly! Kyle also had great communication; he even let me know right away when some other contractors showed up unbeknownst to me... I am so thankful he was looking out for me and my house.

Overall Experience: I'm simply grateful. It could have easily been a disaster since I needed so much guidance, but they were thoughtful and patient and took the time to make sure my dream became a reality. Great experience with Custom Electrical Services. We needed a outlet and switch installed for a fireplace insert. Josh provided a quote over the phone and even provided a free in home estimate to answer our questions. They were very flexible when our insert install date was postponed and when we contacted them on a Friday they were able to do the work that Monday. Had a garbage disposal that didn't work due to the outlet under the sink and the switch that runs it above the counter not working, would've done it myself but the previous owner of our house was a borderline imbecile and already dealt with his messes before. Not wanting to risk dealing with those mistakes (once removed an outlet and there was nearly 10 FEET of wiring jumbled together with wires crossed and packed behind the outlet plate, no thanks). So I called CES on Monday Evening and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday (another place told me they'd be out in MAY--this is MARCH!!).

Was given the time of between 10AM and 1PM for service on that day. The Electrician, Joe, called around 9:30AM that day to confirm (I missed the call) ask if he could show up a few mins early. I like that. Not only on time but actually wanted to arrive early. Due to the missed call and my wife being home not knowing if she was ready by then and not being able to reach her I let it go knowing it was nearing 10AM and he'd be there around that time. At 10AM ON THE NOSE he'd arrived--PROMPT that to me is a bonus in this era. I love that. Shows integrity which is something you don't see in this day and age. My wife showed him the problem and he got right to work. He was not only PROMPT in arriving but fast in doing the work. Was done, bill was paid, and he was out the door in less than :30 MINUTES and for the quoted price of $395+taxes (which was cheaper than the place telling me MAY would do it for with 2 other places I called that refused to give me a quote without seeing it).

Wonderful work, prompt service, and my wife said he was personable and professional. Which is nice when she was dealing with him and at the same time chasing our toddler around the house..haha...Would use CES again for all my electrical needs and HIGHLY recommend them and Joe to all my friends and acquaintances if they ever need electrical work done around their homes! Nice to be able to use the garbage disposal again, one of those things you don't know important they are until it's not working! Thank You Joe and CES (As well as the young lady, Crystal I believe her name is, who books their appointments, she was quick and had my info as well as a time for our service in under 5 Minutes which is quicker than it takes a lot of the time on the phone to order a pizza! haha) for a job well done! I needed a new power panel installed on my home, and a troubleshoot on why my pool shed (where the filter and heater are) had no power. Called them a few weeks ago. Set up an appointment for an estimate for a panel upgrade. They called at the appointment time to tell me they were in Sammamish and will be late. That wasn't a problem for us but after they left our home I never got an estimate... or even a call back. I called repeatedly... the first time I called I was told he (Travis) was out of the office for a week and would email the estimate when he returned on Wednesday. Ok, I waited a week... I never received it so I called back and was told by the receptionist she would contact him and I would receive the estimate via email. I never received it so I called again and she told me that he or she will call me back in a few minutes but I never heard from them again. Of course I'm not going to make anymore efforts after all of these attempts. This kind of customer service and lack of communication makes me question the integrity of any business.

We have used them a couple of times, and I would use them again. The last time they had to come out twice, but since the reason for two trips had nothing to do with them I totally understood being charged extra for the second trip.
