These guys are the best. We had a ceiling fan installed and few questions about our electrics for an upcoming kitchen remodel. They responded quickly to my request for a quote, the guy who came out was very professional and answered all my questions.

When they installed our fan the electrician was very professional and efficient even when he encountered some problems with our brick walls.

The call center is great, the electricians are great; would certainly recommend and will be using them again.

I found Greg on Yelp and decided to contact him due to all the 5 stars reviews.  I needed a technician to fix a circuit breaker issue that my tenants are experiencing in one of my rental units in Philly.  Greg responded immediately and offered to pay an initial visit to assess the circuit problem.  I work in NYC so I couldn't be present during his first visit, but Greg informed me that he's used to coordinating with tenants directly.   Greg coordinated the visit without my involvement (which was great) and figured out the issue right away.  Greg, in plain English, explained the problem to me over the phone and presented me with a few options in a later email (with a recommendation on what's the practical and right fix).  

I love Greg's transparency during the entire process (how he works, his pricing and scope of work) and his accessibility (via phone, text or email).  His end product is very thorough and clean.   I even threw in a side job at him that wasn't part of the original scope (switch out an old outdoor light with a new one with photocell).

All in all, the job was done perfectly from start to finish.  What I value is his timely responses and accessibility.  Being a landlord, the most important thing I value from any service provider is reliability and dependability.   Greg has that.  I will absolutely use Greg again for my other rental properties.   I would recommend Greg to anyone (particularly landlords) who's looking for a good technician/electrician in the Philadelphia area.

There are not enough ways to articulate just how good of a job this crew does. Larry and his guys installed a 120 volt outlet in my garage, that draws electricity directly from my condo unit, so that I may charge my motorcycle batteries. It was fairly labor intensive, with a lot of concrete to drill through, and they knocked it out flawlessly, in no time flat. Their prices are fair, the work is clean, they're all personable, and they promptly scheduled a date and time that worked for me (immediately following the gratis quote they came out and performed).

They back up all work they do and make sure the work is done right ( including small things such as how it looks after installation)
It is so hard to find reasonably priced and competent electricians... They fit that description perfectly

Cannot say enough great things about Joe & JDV Electric!

I bought a 1300 square foot home that was basically a complete remodel. I needed all the old knob and tube wiring removed and the whole house rewired. Joe walked me through the entire process and did all of the rough wiring in less than a week. That was with added obstacles such as 2 other contractors in the way. Joe then allowed me the time I needed to get the other contractors up to speed (putting up drywall and Spackle). He came back in after that was done to finish the job as soon as I asked him to. He put in the best recessed lights, dimmers, ceiling fans for me as well as some custom lights that I had ordered from Wayfair.

I did not have to deal with the inspections group of Philadelphia at all. Joe organized everything and passed with flying colors. Joe's attention to detail and professionalism surpass anyone I have ever worked with. He continued to support me after the job was completed with answering questions and dropping of small tid bits that I had forgotten. This was my first renovation and I simply could not have done it without Joe! As a young woman, I have been taken advantage of by some contractors on this renovation, this did NOT happen with JDV Electric. Ladies, I cannot tell you how appreciative I was to have an honest worker in my home. Joe will put your mind at rest and do right by you.

Tony and his team are SO amazing. Very prompt, respectful and do amazing work. They installed a 35lb/3ft chandelier in my 20ft foyer, mounted a 65 TV and hung a very large mirror perfectly. They were flexible to my changing needs.  I am looking forward to hiring them for future tasks! Thank you for being fantastic.

They said they'd have a technician call me a week ago about a doorbell transformer placement. That never happened.

GE services services has done a number of jobs for me. They have always done a good job, come in on budget, have been flexible and been easy to work with. JQ

CJ did an awesome job running new wiring from my panel to a new outlet for a sauna I am installing. He was attentive to detail, clean work, no damage to walls - looks like he was never here. Highly recommend for quality work at good price. Responded to me an completed the job in less than 24hrs from my first outreach.

PG came out to restore power to our doorbell. They replaced the transformer quickly and without issue. They were right on time, professional, and did good work at a good price. Also good communication

I'd call them....amazing. The tech was very professional, knew exactly what to do, and completed the job. The cost was quite reasonable, as well. Our tech, Hector, arrived exactly when we were told. The team at Thomas Edison were really nice and easy to talk with. So, yeah, amazing.

Very proactive as they came out to service the day after I left a message. I would recommend them to anyone!

Service was fast and the electrician was knowledgeable and thorough in diagnosing and resolving several wiring issues in my older home.

I was happy with the work done by EP Electric; they were very responsive in December when I needed 2 outdoor outlets replaced. They came within a day of the request sent to several electricians.  While at my house I asked for an estimate to have some switches changed to dimmers. The next time I needed an electrician was to change out some light fixtures. Again, EP Electric was pretty responsive and available in my timeframe. Since I had used them before, I was comfortable having them come out. When that job was complete, I again discussed the dimmers I wanted and we discussed when I wanted to get the work done.  We are working on a schedule for this week and I think it will really add to the ambiance of my house. Looking forward to it.

Amazing team of John and Chris were efficient and quick while providing quality work. Reached out to Married 2 Electric and they were on time early the next morning to assess and remedy the outage in some of our lights. Thanks guys!

I had a situation where my garage refrigerator stopped working all of a sudden and various outlets including the one for my sump pump and basement refrigerator stopped functioning as well. Could not figure it out so I searched for an electrician with great Yelp reviews to make an appointment. The Yelp reviews for Joel with Aratech Electrical Services seemed to stand out from the rest. I called around 8pm on Thursday expecting voice mail, however Joel answered the phone. I described my problem and he took his time to carefully explain what probably occurred and what to do to resolve the issue.
I searched all over for any GFCI outlets to reset but could not find any.
Finally remembered that the sump pump GFCI outlet was covered with a multi outlet cover and was able to reset the GFCI outlet and everything was working immediately! He certainly could have made a service call and charged me for something that I was able to remedy following his directions.
Hats off to Joel and Aratech for honesty and truly caring about people!!

I called this company on a hot summer day when my tenant called me and told me her power went off.  I was running around town with my two kids, so in a hurry I decided to call the first company I saw on yelp. I really wish I had taken more time to look for a more reputable company.

First, be aware that this company has multiple listings for different locations all over the city. If you look at their other listings, you will see the many poor reviews that they have received.

I received multiple phone calls from different people after my initial service request. They repeatedly told me that there is a $165 charge for emergency dispatch, and that once they do an inspection, they will let me know what the cost of the actual work will be. When the technician got to the house, a guy named Steven Miller called me and said he wanted me to pay the dispatch fee upfront before anything is done.  He then sent me an email to get my written authorization to charge the credit card. All of this seemed a bit odd to me... the multiple phone calls, the written authorization, the fee up front... but I didn't think too much of it and just proceeded.

About 10 minutes after I paid for the dispatch fee, Steve calls me back with his technician on the phone to tell me that they have to charge me another fee for the diagnostic. I told them that my understanding was after spending $165 they would be able to tell me what's wrong and give me an estimate on the cost of the work. He then proceeded to repeat everything that he and another one of his employees had already told me over the phone multiple times. I told him that I did not feel comfortable proceeding forward and that I was going to call around to see if other companies have similar practices. He then had his other employee (a woman with a courteous voice) call me to try to reason with me. I told her again that I was going to call around and if this is common practice, then that's fine, but if not then I will be leaving a long review for them.

I got off the phone with the woman and called another local electrician. This man was honest, prompt and straightforward. He came out within half hour and fixed the problem for me under 10 minutes and charged me a third of what Thomas Edison had quoted me for simply coming out and finding out what the problem is (not including any work done).

Needless to say, I will be sticking with my honest electrician from now on. Steve did call me again to tell me that he would not charge me the $165 as a courtesy to make me happy. I thought for a second about not leaving a bad review, but I decided that I cannot let this company get away with unethical practice. This company needs to know that people are not stupid and this kind of bait and switch business practice will only backfire. Simple honesty, trustworthiness and respect for people is the way to go.
