Best A/C Installation in Boston MA
I'm going to start with all of the positives, and there are many:
I first met with Kevin, who was extremely professional and courteous. I liked dealing with him, and he was pretty prompt with getting back to me. Communication is important and these guys know it! The guys he sent over, Josh and Bill, were also courteous and professional. Their task was to replace a cast iron drain and vent stack with new PVC, since the old drain was leaking. They had to disassemble a lazy Susan in my kitchen cabinet to access a particular pipe, but at the end of the job, it was fully reassembled like nobody had ever been in there. They kept wall cutting to a minimum and cleaned up after themselves, at least in my condo. So far so good.
Now for a couple of the downsides. Immediately below the joints of the new PVC piping, on the floor of my basement, is caked on pipe epoxy. It is unsightly and does not appear to be easily removable. Some are just blotches. Some are thin lines of it 8-10 inches long across the floor. This is apart from the water stains from the original pipe leak. I can take pictures as needed. It appears that Josh and Bill may have not used a drop cloth when they were working in the basement.
Also the $1895 estimate given to me at the start of the project was basically exactly what the final invoice was. This is a positive, but I expected a more detailed breakdown of the exact cost of what I paid for. There was only one line item on the invoice with a simple description of the job and the total cost. At minimum, I expect a labor breakdown, including an hourly rate, and a list of parts and their costs. I did some prep work on their behalf, which included carefully removing built-in shelves (for later reassembly) and cutting exploratory holes to precisely locate the questionable pipe and any adjacent electrical wiring, so that they could gain access to the necessary areas without the additional labor of doing that themselves. But that seemed to have no downward impact on the final invoice despite giving them at least an hour head start on the job.
Overall, I'm still pleased, and hope to give them another star in the near future if they can somehow address these issues. I still consider them my go-to plumbing service, but they need to take cleanup measures in all areas they work, not just livable spaces.

When my furnace stopped working I panicked. I have had bad experiences in the past with plumbers, when I saw 5 stars with ostroski plumbing I figured I'd give Greg a shot. Well, he came out exactly when promised. Did NOT mind my overly helpful poodle and fixed the problem. His price was great, he left it nice and clean and was A+++ I grabbed a few cards to give my friends because a good plumber is hard to find and I've found one here! Thanks Greg!

Extremely professional and responsive! They were able to arrive on short notice and diagnose the problem. Even were able to install a water heater the next day. Would not hesitate to reach out to them for my next plumbing problems.

Absolutely, hands down the best plumber and one of the best contractors I have ever worked with. Jodie, office manager, is on top of everything. Every phone call is returned promptly. I manage a large museum-lots of plumbing-and Consolidated Plumbing has been a pleasure to work with. And I've been working with them for years. Never a disappointment. Can't say enough nice things about this company.

I've lived in my condo going on my third winter. I have yet to have all those mechanical gizmos down in the basement looked at, checked out or whatever you're supposed to do to them.
I have had nightmares about getting a bad contractor - let's face it - there are more than a few bad contractors out there. Ok so please don't crucify me here but I spent the money on a subscription to Angie's List and checked out plumbers/HVAC specialists. Came across these guys who had good reviews that were recent.
I called them about setting up an appointment for service and got a call back from a nice guy. We set up a time a few days later first thing in the morning.
Bill from Hinchey came out and looked at everything I needed done or wanted quotes on. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable and explained things well. He looked at all those gizmos and ran some tests. He gave me the lodown on my furnace - he needed some parts but didn't have them on his truck so he would have to come back on Monday. Since my water heater was out of warranty by a few years and didn't look all that healthy I decided to also have him come back to replace the water heater the same day. He actually suggested doing it the same day so he could bring an apprentice with him and have help carrying the water heater down into the basement without me paying for an extra guy to help him.
All in all they replaced the water heater with a larger model, they replaced several parts on my furnace after taking it apart and cleaning it and they were both here pretty much all day. The job was done neatly and they cleaned up after themselves.
The price was competitive...for good work and warranteed. I'm having them do more work so they'll be back.

Jonny and his team were FANTASTIC! I have worked with other plumbing companies in the past and by far Rami & Sons were my best experience. I had a big leak and old pipes in my house and Jonny came by and stayed late figuring out the problem that I was having, he made me feel much calm and comfortable and more importantly, they did a GREAT job! My plumbing is working great now and he even recommended someone who could help me with other issues around the house. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reliable company.

All workmanship was top notch and very professional .If you need service or a new boiler these are the people to call. Thanks to all the crew and the girl who called from their office you are the best

Very fair pricing! I had a faucet that needed to be replaced but, bc of old Boston plumbing, I couldn't get it off myself. I dreaded paying someone else to do it, thinking it would cost me hundreds, but Andrew gave me a fair price. He was easy to work with and communicated well.

New home owner here, had a small puddle in the basement which grew 2 days later. Texted my issue and Chris came within 35 minutes. Excellent service

I'm not sure why everyone on yelp gave Frank just glowing reveiws, because my experience with him was completely different. His quote came out higher than most and his expertise left me a bit concerned. Call him if you wish, but I found better options out there.

Our heat was out. I called the office at 10:15am. It is now 12:40pm and my heat is fixed!! Staff was polite and friendly. I couldn't be happier.

It took me a while to find a plumber that was even willing to talk to me about installing a European style radiator in place of an old cast iron. From the start of the project, Matt was really responsive. He was even texting back and forth with me at 8 in the evening to flush out some details prior to ordering the radiator.
On the day of the install, Matt's crew (Henry and Marco) came and did the install. It wasn't without its obstacles (old 100 year old house with very old hydronic system). But at every step of the way, Henry and Marco worked through the issues and got the thing installed. The result is awesome, the radiator now blends into the wall and we've reclaimed about a foot 1/2 of wasted space. We are considering doing a few more throughout the house.
The quality of the work is excellent and the price quoted for the radiator and install was bang on. I can't say enough about this crew, will be using them again for future projects.

After hour contact needs some work. Service provided did not seem to completely fix the problem with my furnace and attempts to get back in contact with company over weekend hours were not met with level of service expected.

Excellent communication and service. I gladly would recommend their services. I had a leaking in my laundry and it's was fixed fairly quickly. Thank you

Mike did all of our plumbing for a bathroom renovation, and all of the work to install a new heating system. I would highly recommend him.

THE WORST COMPANY EVER! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
On a Saturday, we experienced problems with our water heater, and we called the company to fix the issue. Plumber JOSEPH HERSEY arrived. He was very unhappy and complained that he had to work on a Saturday and kept throwing the F word and S word in every sentence that came out of his mouth.
Upon looking at the water heater, he said only one piece was broken and that he could fix it. After another 10 minutes, he said that he could no longer fix the heater and that we needed to buy a new water heater. When we asked him how much it would cost, he said he didn't know. Then he got out and came back with the new heater. We asked again how much the heater would cost, and again, he said he didn't know. After installation, he asked us to pay a whooping $2000!!! When we asked him why it would cost this much, he said, $2000 includes extra labor cost because he's working on a Saturday.
When we asked him more questions, he got angry. JOSEPH HERSEY POUNDED OUR KITCHEN TABLES LOUDLY AND KEPT SWEARING USING THE F AND S WORDS. HE THREATENED US TO PAY HIM. We then called Crescent management and asked them to give us a breakdown of the cost. The manager sounded very annoyed and didn't want to give us any information. She was rude on the phone and was yelling at us and again threatened us to pay!
We called Home Depot and asked about the water heater and the installation price. They quoted us $800 heater plus labor. Joseph also mentioned it's an ignition problem. In retrospect, we think it's very likely that we didn't need to replace the water heater. Joseph and Crescent Plumbing took advantage of our situation and just wanted to us to pay for extra.
So please, stay away from this company! Crescent Plumbing will send rude plumbers who will threaten you and cheat money out of you!!!

I have upgraded two furnaces, one condenser and one tankless water heater. Great news about Cranney - one stop shop for all electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, duct etc. All logistics are managed with in them selves, that saved lot of my time and justified to extra money spent.
I am very happy with tank less water heater recommendation from sales team Shaun C and installation by Frank T. Frank is polite, have good work ethics and did not take any short cuts. I give FIVE stars to him.
My two furnaces are installed by two different persons, each took their own short cuts. I am not 100% satisfied with either HVAC installation. On day one after they left home within hours drain pump started leaking. That have ended me up not having heat for 3 days. Team rushed up last day of installation without proper testing of system.
When I talked to installation manager Rich I, he is polite and agreed to fix issues. Came four times after installation to fix multiple things, finally that got ended up as band-aids on new system.
Over all Cranney is a nice company built on good ethics. I will use their service in future provided if I can choose who is coming in, prefers Frank or Carl. Your service quality will depend on whom they assigned.
My recommendation to company PLEASE take time and train your team to one standard. Whom will deliver great service to clients leads to business expansion.
