Best Gas Water Heater Repair in Reno NV

THIS REVIEW IS NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH ALLEN PLUMBING.  I HAVE NOT USED THEIR SERVICE.

On May 14th I placed a call with my home warranty company and was assigned this plumber.  They called me within a couple of days and set up an appointment to meet me on Monday May 20th at 7:00 am.  They told me that they another job just down the street so it would be easy for them to just come over and check it out.  They didn't show up.  So I called that afternoon and the apologized and said they would be at my house on Tuesday May 21st first thing in the morning.  I had to be to work at 7:30 so my roommate met them and showed the plumber what needed to be repaired.  He called and got the go ahead from the warranty company for 2 of the 3 repairs we needed.  He told my roommate that they would get a hold of us by the end of the week.  By the afternoon of Friday May 24th I had not heard from them.  So I gave them a call and they said that obviously they would not be back that week, but would give me a call first thing the following week to set something up.  Well the following Monday was Memorial Day, so of course I didn't hear from them which wasn't not a problem since I didn't expect it.  But I didn't hear from them all week.  So on June 3rd I called the home warranty company and explained the situation.  The rep at the warranty company called them and was told that the plumber had been trying to get a hold of me but I wasn't returning their calls.  I have no record of them calling my cell phone nor my work phone.  She gave them my number again and I was told they would call me that very day.  I didn't hear from them until Tuesday evening after I had gone home from work and he said that he was pretty open the rest of the week and could get it done.  Please call as soon as possible to set something up.  Of course they left the message on my work voicemail so I didn't get the message until Wednesday morning.  I called him as soon as I got the message, but by that time he told me that he was all booked up but could come out at 7:00 am on Monday June 10th.  Well here it is June 10th and he didn't show up.  I have called my warranty company and been reassigned to a different plumber, but I will warn all my friends again using this company.  If I could give zero stars I would.  Terrible customer service.

**Update to this review***  The plumber from Van Allen showed up this morning to finish the job before the new company from the warranty company contacted me so I let him finish the job.  It does not change my opinion of this company but I wanted to give the full story.

Had Trevor do some plumbing work at my home in Folsom.  Cannot say enough good things about the work.  He took the time to get the job done right and would not leave until the work was completed correctly and to my satisfaction.

I will be using his services again in the future.

Aaron Vollmoer was our Service Technician. Our water heater went out during the last snow storm. The service was excellent and he came back and was able to replace the water heater even with the snow and the temperatures being as cold as they were. He went above and beyond to make sure we could get our hot water back and truly cared. Thank You!!!!

We used this company to fix our Navien tankless water heater.   They were immediately responsive,  and Mr Gibson was willing to drive to Donner Summit to help us out.   Mrs Gibson is very friendly and easy to work with on the phone.   They are competent, reliable and finish the job in a timely manner.   Highly recommend this company!

John of Bertani can out to our home on a Saturday afternoon to provide us with expert advice on what should be done to correct an isssue with a shower stall that was leaking.  He was very clear as to how the problem would be correct and shared many tips as to how it could be done in an economical way and still maintaining a high level of quality. He listened to our issues and provide a well thought out solution. We would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a exceptional plumber

John was great. Ultimately he did not provide any plumbing services for our house, but he did spend over 10 minutes with me on the phone talking through all the various potential issues and the various options I could choose. He even had a recommendation to do it myself if I didn't want to have to pay a plumber! Imagine that, an honest business man suggesting something that could take business from himself! He did recommend me to go with another plumbing company, which turned out to be a fantastic recommendation (see my other plumber reviews for details).

John also did offer for me to call him back if no one else could answer my call and fix my issue.

Dave replaced our water heater.  He is reliable, knowledgeable and reasonable.  He was HALF the price of the first company we called.  We sent pictures to our friend in Arizona, a former plumber and long-time building inspector.  His response:  He (Dave) does very professional work.  What a find!  I've seen a lot of bad installs over the years.  Beautiful work done in a timely manner at a fair price...

Long review, but I feel you need the backstory.

My tub was slow to drain, and I purchased a Home Warranty a couple years ago, so I put in a claim. The company sent out Roto Rooter. I figured, it's a National company, so they should be able to fix this, right?

Well, after the guys said they snaked the drain about 10 feet, the snake wouldn't go any farther. They said, because the house was old, the line needed to be replaced. Sounded reasonable. The bill after snaking the line was over $260! AND....my tub drained slower than before they got there!

In comes Rooter Bee's AJ. He was super logical even on the phone call, and was able to come out the next day. He was prompt, clean, courteous, and incredibly smart and logical in diagnosing what could be happening.

AJ did a full diagnosis before starting to work, which the other plumbers did not. He went into the crawl space and found MY LINE HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED!!!  Roto Rooter's guys never went into the crawl space, and if I had taken their professional opinion, they would've charged me for a replacement that was unnecessary!

After coming out of the crawlspace, AJ snaked the drain, and in 20 minutes, it was cleared. His invoice to me was LESS than Roto Rooter, and my problem was fixed!

As long as he will have me as a client, AJ will be my one and only plumber!

Raynor Ellis came to fix our plumbing and he did a splendid job! He was knowledgeable, kind, responsive and mannerly. We even had a discussion about our dogs as we owned the similar breed.

I had the misfortune of having to replace the entire plumbing system in my house. Johnson Plumbing gave me a fair bid to complete the job. Because of my positive experience with them before, l decided to use their services again and I'm glad that I did. Very professional and friendly, as always. They were in and out in a few days and made the the whole process as pain-free as possible. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber that is fair and affordable.

Excellent. Quick service, job well done, cost less than I thought it would, honest plumber. Will definitely use again if the need arises.

We currently live in the northern Reno, NV area and encountered our second drain issue this month.  We called and within the hour Bryan from Roto-Rooter arrived.

Bryan was one of the most courteous and attentive people I've ever had the pleasure of encountering in any service industry not just plumbing and drain services.

He  went to work quickly and with a positive disposition quickly identified the issues and had some great recommendations.  Based on his advice and demeanor I decided I would buy the extended warranty on the service because any company that would employ someone like Bryan is a company I want to continue to give my business.

I cannot recommend this company and Bryan, in particular, high enough.

Price gouge alert!
Joe charged me $2200 for a 40 gallon bradford white water heater + installation. To put that into perspective, I called several other local plumbers, and they charged between $1250-1850 for the same water heater + installation.  long story short, I called Joe and caught him in the price gouge, and we negotiated for a lower price of $1850. During that call, Joe even claimed that consumers couldn't purchase water heaters without a plumbers license. He also tried to gaslight me and say Looks like I am going to take a bath on this one. Joe tried to take advantage of me because he sensed I didn't know anything about plumbing. Very dishonest service.

This company Charges a flat rate for each job. I was charged $1212 to install a water heater.
, After I paid the bill and got over the sticker shock,   I checked around and priced the parts and they ranged from $375-$580 plus $ 40 for the 2gal pressure tank .   Based on those figures and $100 for 2hr work  he did , I felt that I was over charged $290-$607
 The installer was very professional  friendly and addressed all my concerns and did exellent work and is welcome here anytime,but not the company he works for-!!!!!!!!!
Therefore I'm giving  one star for the company and 5 for the installer.................................
