Best Garbage Disposal Repair in Reno NV

Fast service.  They took 5 minutes to figure out the issue, and 15 minutes to resolve it.  Then they charged me for 2 hours of labor.  I am absolutely disgusted.

John of Bertani can out to our home on a Saturday afternoon to provide us with expert advice on what should be done to correct an isssue with a shower stall that was leaking.  He was very clear as to how the problem would be correct and shared many tips as to how it could be done in an economical way and still maintaining a high level of quality. Brian was incredibly professional and helpful. We have an older 1960s cabin in North Lake Tahoe which needed a new hot water heater and main water shut-off valve to be replaced. He fit us into his schedule, quickly and efficiently found good high quality, cost-effective solutions for us and was just an overall really nice guy to deal with. He also alerted us to some additional issues (electrical and pest) he saw when he was under the crawl space which was extremely helpful. We would highly recommend him!

This was my first time connecting with a plumber via Yelp and I could not be more pleased!  Luke arrived a few minutes early, which I really like.  The work was done quickly and the result was a flawless repair.  I really appreciate owner run businesses, they take great pride in their work and go the extra mile.  Ohnstad Pluming is now my go to plumber.  Highly recommend you use him for your plumbing needs and, yes, the 530 area code is correct. :)

I had an issue with my water supply line leaking under my driveway, I called savage to locate and repair it, (the line is 300 feet long) the fellow who came out to locate was within 18 of the pipe break, the other guy who came out to cut the asphalt and excavate was polite, hard working and efficient, this could've really turned into some kind of horrible ordeal but savage had everything located, dug up and repaired in a day and a half ( 5.5 billed hours ) and what I thought would be a $1500-$2500 repair turned out to be $701 parts and labor total, I cant say enough good things about the guys savage sent out and the office folks I spoke with on the phone they were all a credit to their craft.

Our shower was leaking through a downstairs light fixture. He opened up the shower faucet fixtures and told me what the problem was. What a nice guy!!! Thank you for your service and will definitely be using these guys again.:)

Gibson Plumbing was involved in two of our bathroom remodels, so when we had a issue with our water main we called Gibson Plumbing. From our initial call with Michelle to Cary's speedy survey of our issue and plan to solve our problem, we were very pleased.  Daryl and Sal arrived as scheduled and worked in less than ideal conditions between a tree and brick wall!  Cary returned review the job with us. I found them on Yelp. And I am sooooo great full that I found them. It is labor day weekend. My wife says shower water backing up. Then we get (crap) come out of all our sewer into all the bath tubes.  Yuk
I t call 5 star. And Mr Dave comes out in hour and a half (just like they said) and identified the problem and resolved the problem. I am so Thankful!

Don was fantastic. When I called he was able to come right away. He was able to fix an old Moen shower faucet that had broken. He had to run to Carson City for parts and came back the same day to get the job done. Extremely nice and very professional. His prices are very reasonable. I am completely satisfied and will recommend him to everyone.

I have used this company multiple times as a realtor especially when it comes to emergency issues and I have been pleasantly surprised at how prompt and affordable they are. Very quickly to respond and completely reliable I'm so grateful there are still businesses like this out there you can depend on!

Update: two weeks after my call with the owner a full refund was issued out of the blue. So I commend the company for that. Thank you.

Project
Our issue was that when the dishwasher was draining, ALL of the water was coming out from the air gap into the sink. I do mean ALL of the water.

The good!
Let me start by saying that Cody was very personable, quick and informative.  He immediately diagnosed that it could be either 1. The discharge hose is plugged with food or sludge and would need to be cleaned out or 2. When the garbage disposal was installed, the small plug/knock out was not punched out and removed.

The haggle
So we settled on a price, which they don't tell you in the Yelp app that it is $175 hourly rate. After I said, no, $175 seems excessive to me.  He asked what can you do?.
Anyway, we settled on a price after he talked to the office I guess.
Beware of companies that do not provide an estimate or their hourly rate up front and offer on-site estimates.  I think that is a scam to pressure you into agreeing to their service.  My mistake completely.

Job
When he removed the black discharge hose and looked in the garbage disposal, sure enough, the little plug/knock out piece was still intact!
So he removed that and cleaned out the hose as well.

The not so good
After removing the plug, we wanted it all tested of course and ran the dish washer in drain cycle and the water came through the discharge hose and into garbage disposal and into the drain! Worked great!
I press the switch to garbage disposal and a very loud noise was produced as if something was in there. (That was NOT happening right before this service call).
Cody looked inside garbage disposal and didnt see anything and said it is probably the blades in the disposal that need tightening???  I had never heard of that but OK.
He even said that the little knock out was probably still attached but wasn't in the disposal.
He said we would need to contact an appliance repair person to look at that.
So, I guess I do not understand how a service call can fix one issue, creating a new issue and leave it as it was.

Again, Cody himself, was a very nice person, but I believe this was UNCOMPLETED work on Preferred Plumbing and would NOT recommend them to anyone or use them again.  I just feel that if you pay someone to do a job, it should be done right and NOT cause another issue that was not happening before.  

We ended up doing more research and all advice and YouTube videos indicated that something MUST be in the disposal.  So that evening or next, we took our flashlight and looked inside and guess what was in there!!??  Yup, the little knock out plug!   We had to use some needle nose pliers to remove it and the disposal purred after that.   So, because of an uncompleted job that we paid for, we had to still fix the issue ourselves....

Shoddy work and refused to make it right. Dodged my calls for months. Avoid at all costs.

Smart, reasonable, and fast! Definitely recommend this company! After 3 other plumbers failing on my shower this guy finally got it fixed! Didn't charge an insane amount of money. For sure going to keep as my main plumber from now on!
