Best Home Cleaning in Philadelphia PA
2/11/19 Update
The agreed upon rate was $125 an hour for repair of the pipe. There was never any mention of the charge being per person as there was never any mention of an accompanying assistant. Bottome line, there was either a charge for the work performed for free or there wasn't and if there was I should have been notified upfront so as to make an informed decision about whether I wanted to proceed and for which tasks, but for JS to act in the manner of pro bono and then inflate the cost of an agreed upon job after the fact IS dishonest. Yelpers take note.
Revised Rating. One star. Awesome work. Shady pricing.

1. How niceness (is this even a word), can be deceiving?
I didn't realize right away that I had actually contacted JS in December for a nagging issue with my water heater only to be told he was too busy to help at that time. Now, having a situation in late January, where I had no heat, no hot water and a clogged sink with a jammed garbage disposal, I was at my brink and sent a mass message to most of Yelp. 41 degree house? Fine, dress like an Eskimo, heat one room like a sauna. No hot water? Does the stove work? Do I have a pot? Yes, to both? Then what's the problem?? But couple those two issues with, single kitchen sink clogged and suddenly it's hell on earth. This time, John responded within minutes, after hours, while enroute to an emergency call on a Friday (nice, right?). He was booked thru the weekend, but agreed to check his schedule and get back with me by Monday. He called on Tuesday, able to stop by in 2 hours. Luckily, I was able to be home. By the time John arrived, me, a handy friend thousands of miles away and Youtube, resolved the clog, but in all my understanding and my friend's expert explaining, I couldn't fix the garbage disposal. John took 10 seconds to connect a loose hose and 20 seconds to explain how it all works, for no apparent charge (nice, right?). John took a look at the water heater, which may or may not need to be replaced and by chance at the furnance also. In thouroughly explaining the system to me (nice, right?), we found a leak in one of the pipes. John agreed to return in 2 days to fix both issues. Price: Water heater replaced at $1200 and $100/per hour for the cracked pipe. I passed on the work for the water heater, having already received a more competitive quote. Without the work for the water heater, the charge for the pipe work would be $125/hour. Sure.
2. How does 1x1 equals 3?
Having had the same work done previously (& recently), which I observed from start to finish, and having consulted people that I know and trust before John arrived, I knew the job should be straightforward, relatively simple (it was both) and take no longer than an hour (though John somehow guesstimated 3-4 hours). For whatever reason, (you be the judge) in all his experience and having seen the exterior pipe he would be working on, when John arrived, he claimed to not have any of the necessary replacement supplies (i.e. the standard 3/4 90 (basic elbow) and a 3/4 union pipe). Not sure that I buy that a 17-year plumber that drives a van and presumably has repaired countless pipes, didn't know what would be needed beforehand AND didn't already have the supplies. If not, what a waste of the van's space and so said experience. While you're at it, you may as well tell me that the earth is flat too. At any rate, he left for nearly an hour, obviously at my expense. All told the actual work lasted hardly an hour at best, but with included 1 hour trip to supply store, 2 hours. Lucky me, I have a security camera, so I can be accurate with times. Arrived-8:55. Left- 9:22. Returned- by 10:05. All work completed-10:51. $125x1= $125 right? Not with JS-BS math, as my total was $350. I didnt contest it initially, expecting the invoice to explain further. I don't cheat, I'm not conniving and I have morals, so if I owe you, I'll certainly pay. Instead, the invoice I received (which I checked in email after he left-major no,no I now know) shows one line item for a single, inexplicable, overpriced total. I've reached out requesting clarification twice, by email on the day of service and by text the following day. Two full days have now passed with no response. Guess he's really busy.
3. Why it's IMPOSSIBLE to find credible (read, honest) contractors in Philly?
Enough said.
Rating: Decent work, Bamboozle Pricing -20 stars for the riduclous pricing. 22 stars for the solid work and patient service. TOTAL: 2 stars
BS math back at ya.

Poor communication from the technician led to my dog ingesting sewage and whatever else was scraped out of my main drain lines. I'm being generous giving 1 star, but at least my sewer drain line is clean I guess?
To make a long story short, the technician did a fine job cleaning the sewer drain line, but they then went and (without communicating this to me) dumped all of the junk they vacuumed out of my sewer drain line into my back yard. The next day, my dog was in the backyard and managed to get into the pile and came back in vomiting everywhere. Fortunately, the dog got most of it out of her system fairly quickly and doesn't appear to have any lasting effects, but who knows what she ingested?! What if it had been my kids?
Totally unprofessional of the technician to even think that it's okay to dispose of human waste (and more) in our backyard, and then on top of it, not even communicate it to me. Fortunate for me, I had a camera that verified the actions of this technician so I could at least feel better before accusing them of this.
I certainly can't see myself using this company again as I just can't trust them. I didn't think I needed to ask how the technician was going to dispose of the waste, but that's now on my list of questions for future plumbing work...

We contacted Mr. Rooter about the bathroom being clogged up for the whole house. They were responsive and came out the next day. They texted us a picture of the technician along with the name which is a nice touch so we know exactly who's coming and what they look like.
The technician was able to found the issue which was an old pipe that partly collapsed which caused the backup. They use the camera to show us that the storm line was clear and the issue is only on the sanitary line.
The average rating was because we thought there's nothing else except to replace the broken area. We have a sewage line warranty so we call that company to have them start the replacement process. They send out a second plumbing company to confirm the issue but this company was able to clear the line partly to provide some relief while they get the permit for the replacement. I felt Mr. Rooter's technician should have been able to do this in their visit to help the home owner so I'm a bit disappointed given all the outstanding reviews they have.
Update 2/15: the other company was able to clear the sewage line and they report it was fine and doesn't need replacing. I'm glad we have a warranty and didn't spend several thousands replacing something not needed.

Jamal has team complete a stucco project on part of the house that previous was windows and replaced with a wall. Jamal was reasonably priced, on time and delivered great work. The new stucco transitions very well into the existing stucco. Very happy customer!

Our well stopped working at 8:00 on a Friday, did a Google search and called the number on the website. Mike answered while celebrating his daughters birthday and he walked us through trouble shooting, both electrical and checking depth/water level of our well and diagnosed over the phone. Ran to Lowe's 10 minutes before closing to get the $75 part Mike recommended and it fixed the issue. Mike saved us tons of stress, time and money with his great customer service. Mike will definitely be our well guy going forward. Thank you so much!

I had a pipe freeze on Xmas and was desperate to have someone come out asap, since we didn't have any water all day. Keith was responsive, came out right away, replaced the broken pipe and I'm back in business. I really appreciated communicating through the app, and as well via text. I hate calling places. I'm so impressed, I scheduled more work to be done with Keith, that I had been delaying for months. Thanks again!

Its hard to find an honest plumber, so when I had an issue at my house, I was concerned. Their price was fair and I got an appointment for the same day while other local plumbers had me wait for days. Kevin was awesome, he explained the process and was professional. He didn't just throw out any number, he explained the procedure and had written documents which justified his assessment. They stand behind their work 100%. The receptionist was friendly and called back to check up the on us after the job was completed. I felt so satisfied with their work that, i signed up my office as well. Excellent service all around. Thank You !!! A++++++++++++++++

Customer service is lacking with this company. I spoke to an older man who gave me an estimate. When I called the next day to get more info. and to clarify some things on the estimate he was rude to me and hung up on me. I was prepared to hire them to do the work in my home, but I decided to go with another company, because I don't give my money to people with no customer service skills, and you shouldn't either.

If I could give these guys 1000 stars I would! After calling another plumber and being told our clogged drain could only be fixed by a $4500 pipe replacement (including tearing up walls), Kerry and Roy came to our rescue!! They took the time to REALLY investigate the problem and resolved it with no need for tearing down walls and for a FRACTION of the cost - and did all of it with smiles on their faces and an unmatched professionalism. Their price was soooo reasonable that I actually made them charge me more for it! We've been through a dozen plumbers in Philadelphia and will never again use anyone but them!

UPDATE: Owner reached out to make it right and was sincere in trying to find an amicable solution. As a result, one star was added. I'll note that all other reviews are 5-star, so my experience may be an outlier.
Insanity. Set up a day to replace two leaky valves in my basement. Scheduling was easy and professional. Gentleman arrived, took a look, then initially quoted me over $800 to replace the valves. I estimated $50 for parts, two hours work. No thanks. Quickly got another phone quote for less than half that amount.

We had a recurring issue with our main sewer line in our new home. After using another plumbing company for the initial fix we were referred to D Burgo by neighbors of ours when it was determined we would have to replace the sewer line. Drew talked me through the process for replacing the line, and was able to provide me a quote same day. The price was much lower than what we were quoted by the first [larger] plumbing company we worked with, and Drew took the weight of permits and gas/electric company contact off our hands as well.
The day of the work, Drew and his team arrived early in the morning and were extremely efficient with digging the 6-foot trench, replacing the sewer line, and re-filling the trench. All in, it took about about 6-7 hours! The final price was exactly what Drew had quoted me, and was very fair considering the work done.
Overall, Drew was a pleasure to work with - he and his team were professional, prompt, and fair which went a long way with us during a stressful situation. We will definitely be using D Burgo for any future plumbing or HVAC/heating/cooling needs!

Rogelio was very responsive right from the start. He kept me informed every step of the way and he assured me prior to his arrival that he would able a to repair what I needed fixed. He also did a superb job repairing the furniture piece and he did it in the time he anticipated, Very courteous and polite, I will be contacting him again for additional work.

I had an appointment for diagnostics for my 2 year old hot water heater. The service individual took a few pics and walked outside to take a phone call and did not come for 15 minutes. I was then informed, my 15 minute appointment was done. I never received any diagnostics on the unit and was charged 122$ for the appointment. I had to call 2 times to find out the status. I was then placed on hold and told the manager was in a meeting. Waste of time and money.... I was then told due to the brand of my unit it could not be serviced by them. That could have been confirmed before they came.

I had a heat pump installed and it is not heating as promised. They will not admit that it would never work properly. The upstairs was warm and the downstairs was 8 degrees cooler and the weather outside was 50 degrees. The thermostat was put in the wrong place and they kept on insisting that I didn't kmow what i was talking about. The customer service rep was rude and kept twisting my words. He had no intention of rectifying the problem. He blamed me. Also, they ruined my oak stairs.
Also their wirkmanship is shoddy. They ran a wire in my basement that was so crooked it looked like a snake.
They offered to put in a new oil furnace at twice the cost of another company. Charlatans.
This company is unscrupulous. Do not use them under any circumstances.

Had a great experience - late night visit to the house to repair a time sensitive problem. Problem was diagnosed and repaired in short order- issue was explained and the tech was excellent. Office communication was outstanding and very helpful. Not a grumble to be had - Highly recommended.
Edit: edited to clarify that this was HVAC related. :)
