Some years back Jay Young changed out a hot water heater for us and removed the old one for us and they did an excellent job for us.

This was my mom's house before she died, and we had a list of issues that needed our attention. There was the backed up shower drain in one end of the house and very low hot water pressure at the other end of the house. In between were a kitchen faucet and garbage disposal that needed to be replaced. I started to call the plumber my mom had used for years (NOT Holland), but I things they had told my mom in the past made me leery about using them. I called my cousin, who managed Lubbock apartments most of her career, for a recommendation. She said to call Donnie Holland's Plumbing.
I am so glad I did. They were wonderful. The kitchen faucet and garbage disposal were done in almost no time. They quickly figured out where the shower clog was and cleared it. The low hot water pressure was a tricker problem. They spent a couple of hours diagnosing why the pressure in the back bathroom was so low and how to fix it. It was the end of the day by the time they finished diagnosing the problem. They said they would come back today and run a new hot water line. They were here by ten this morning and were done in about two hours. They ran a new hot water line the full length of the house, from the hot water heater to the far bathroom. They had to remove the things in the bathroom linen closet and under the bathroom sink to access what they needed. When they left I couldn't tell they had been here. Everything was back its place, tidy and clean. They even put insulation on the new pipe before they left. I couldn't be happier! I will call Holland's the next time I need a Lubbock plumber.

We had just moved in to our new home build in the 60's and soon after discovered that the m
ain plumbing lines had cracked and in desperate need of repair. These were original to the house. We were devastated to learn this after having just spent so much money to purchase this house. The estimates came in from three companies and Churchwell's was by far the best! We felt at ease the way they explained things, the constant communication, how they kept the job sites clean and just plain good to their word. I have referred them to my neighbors on Nextdoor and my in laws are now looking at using them for their repairs. I can't say enough good things about them! THE BEST!

we just bought a house with a non working condenser and on Tuesday we had a tech come out and look over our ac system and tells me they have a used one that they will install. cut to Friday and Kurt, a other tech comes out to install it and finds issues that were discussed with the other tech but were not communicated to him. He was very rude to my wife and told her he would be back with the neccessary equipment to fix the unit. she gave him my telephone number and calls me at 550pm and says he will meet me at 615p. I get home and the house is 95 degrees bc he messed with something and now the heater is blowing constantly and will not turn off. I finally get a call from him at 830 saying he was just finishing a job and would be at my home in 15 minutes. At 1030p, i call him and he says he just got off and he isn't coming out bc we have more F*cking issues than he is willing to fix. He also sounded very drunk when I finally got fed up and called him. He is the on call emergency technician by the way. Very unpleasant, unprofessional, lied on multiple occasions and was all out rude. I am wholly disappointed in the lack of service I recieved.

Expensive and somewhat shady. I used these guys multiple times when I first moved to Lubbock. The were expensive, but did decent work so I stuck with them. After a while I noticed every time they came something else would suddenly go wrong. I never had any proof of misconduct until recently. They came to fix my drain and water lines under the bathroom sink, and I told the plumber I would be installing the faucet myself when they were finished. After months of trying to wrap my head around how to connect the drain pipe to the sink drain I finally realized they had used an adapter to change the pipe size out of the wall from 1 1/4 to 1 1/2. No wonder I couldn't find the right fitting for the 1 1/4 sink drain!! I am sure this was done on purpose in order to get me to call them back (getting more of my money).
There are definitely better options around Lubbock.
I know I won't be calling these guys back.

Don't let the 24/7 plumbing fool you. I called at 10:45 pm for an emergency service call. At 11:15 the call center called back asking if I had received a call from the plumbers. I answered I had not. At 12:15 I called back to get more information and they said that they could not page the plumbers after midnight and they would schedule something in the morning. It is now noon and I have not received a call although I was already able to go buy the parts myself now that the stores have opened and fixed it.

After using this company faithfully for 30+ years, and recommending them to countless people, they have left a very sour taste in the mouths of everyone in my family over this past week.
On Fri, 5/30/2014, our A/C stopped cooling. My wife called Payne, and explained the issue - they explained they couldn't get out until Monday - leaving us in 90-100 degree weather over the weekend with no A/C. The coils were freezing up. Monday rolled around, and they came out. They were told we wanted them to check the system thoroughly, AND clean the coils (they had not been cleaned ever, unit is 10+ years old, and was neglected for many years). Their tech came out, spent 10-15 minutes, changed the filter, and declared it done - said coolant was good, compressor was good - filter needed to be changed (it did not - we had only changed it 2 weeks prior, and I checked it before we called them out), charged us $70 to replace the filter, and left. By noon that same day, we knew for certain it was not working. My wife called in as soon as she could, but they refused to make right on it, only stating they would be out the next day.
They did return that Tuesday (6/3/2014), and cleaned the coils as we had requested them do in the first place - to the tune of $350 - no reduction for not having done it the first time, or anything.
OK, now we have A/C - until Thursday night (6/5/2014), when the A/C when to cycle on, and only made a very loud buzzing noise, and would not quit. Called them back Friday morning, and they sent someone again - he gets there, and declares there is no issue to be found, and leaves (no charge, thank God), but says he'll be on call over the weekend, and to call him if it recurs.
Well, guess what - it recurred - by 4PM that same day - cool air WAS blowing, but BARELY - the blower fan wasn't turning, and it was still buzzing VERY loudly. So I called them - THREE TIMES over the weekend - and not even a return call about the issue. My wife finally had to call them again today (Monday, 6/9/2014) where she was promised we were next in line and someone would be out today. As of 8:30PM, we have not heard nor seen anything from them. I tried to call them back by 5:30 - only to get an answering machine - yes, I left a message - no, i did not get a call back.
During all of this time, my 16 year old daughter began to get sick from the heat, my wife and I got little to no sleep, and my wife has a heart condition, and cannot be exposed to heat like that for extended periods - so we're lucky she didn't have a heart attack or stroke.
So, BEWARE - this company obviously does not care about ANY of it's customers - even long-time loyal customer's who have brought them business in the past. Avoid them like the plague...
