Took advantage of my 89 father with failing memory. Overcharged him to install a shower head, $280! They said that is their 'fair' price for this service. They would not even consider a partial refund. Beware, you need to get a quote before you let them in to do any work. Way over priced and if you are not satisfied with their charges, too bad.

Ugh. What a mess, literally. Long story short, our sewer lines were made of terra cotta if you can believe that. After 70+ years they crumbled. We're not sure exactly when the crumbling happened, but when water started bubbling up in our basement drain we had to act fast.

Since it was a Sunday this was our only option. They came within a couple hours, said they could get started right away and gave us the estimate. It was not cheap. Not at all. This situation, from what I hear, is not cheap in general, but if we'd have shopped around and had time, I'm sure it would have been less expensive.

So with the expensive price tag you'd definitely want good customer service, right? The guys were friendly enough, but the real issue I had was the communication with the home office. They said they'd call when they were coming and they never did. They said they'd be there to do work one day, then never show up with no call telling me why. Pretty much every day during the week that this took I had to call in the morning to see what was happening. Even then they'd tell me the guys would be out to my house shortly and it would be hours before they'd show up or they wouldn't at all.

Seriously... I'm paying a lot of money, at least have it together! It was super frustrating. If I didn't have a flexible job where I work from home, I would have had to have taken days off that weren't needed on the days they didn't even show when they said they would.

I'm going to go out of my way to avoid using them again. It's good to know they will be there to give you a huge bill on a Sunday and hopefully temporarily fix a major issue, but combined with the service, I would not recommend.

Main sewer line completely clogged. Called because of $79 special to unclog any drain. Tech said we needed to put a clean out in and then they would try to clear the drain at a cost of $650 paid upfront. We have a protection plan with American Water, when I asked if that would cover it, he told me it wouldn't cover sewer lines inside the house.... (total BS!!). Another tech came back later and did put the clean out in. He snaked the pipe only 5 feet, said he couldn't go any further and said we would have to pay another $4250 to repair the sewer pipe. He said this was a spot repair. I understand that to mean if there was a problem further down the line there would be additional cost. I didn't agree to the work and called American Water to review the protection plan coverage. They told me it would cost $50 and they would cover everything over. This plumber was here 15 minutes before they said they would be there. Within the hour of snaking out the line that Mr Rooter claimed they couldn't do and needed to be replaced, I had free running sewer pipes out to 30 feet. This plumber not only snaked the line from the clean out but also the floor drain. As an added bonus, he cleaned up not only his mess but the mess Mr Rooter left behind.
In my opinion, these guys only see dollar signs and will rip you off any chance they get. I will never use their service for anything and would not recommend to anyone. If I could take 5 stars away from them I would.

The most rip-off plumbing company I have ever experienced in the last 30 years. They like to propose digging and re routing sewer lines without competent and thorough evaluations. They took ur cash deals and then would not return it even you changed mind because receiving second opinions. Even if you go to court to complaint, they would not answer court notification letter and/or lawyer letters. They know how to play dirty games. You need to watch out!

My husband and I are selling our house. We called on 6/27 & asked a BARBARA in their office if they performed dye tests. She said yes and scheduled one after 5pm on 6/30.  8pm rolls around on Friday and we hadn't heard anything from the company. We called the company & they said they were very backed up on work orders but would still come. At 10 pm we got a call from a KYLE or CALVIN. He was shocked that no one called us and then apologized. They rescheduled with us for 7/1 at 10AM.  He described what the workers would be doing for the dye test and that It would be a quick in and out procedure. We got a call at 750AM this morning informing us that their company does not perform dye tests.   This was a waste of our time working with this company. Everyone there needs to get on the same page so this doesn't happen again & they don't piss off even more customers. I wouldn't suggest using this company.

Avoid at all costs!!! I am a former employee of BOB BEALL's, who owns Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Pittsburgh & co-owns Tampa/St. Petersburg. On a daily basis, he made me uncomfortable. He was drunk on an almost daily basis, where he would belittle me, say extremely inappropriate things & make me very uncomfortable. He got extremely drunk during a zoom training session with me, where he downed an entire bottle of wine in under 5 minutes and spent the whole time slurring and farting uncontrollably. I have had to maneuver around his drunk antics more times than I can count. He recently accidentally & unknowingly called into the office while I was working, while he was gossiping to a technician about my personal life, my salary & belitting my job. He propositioned another employee I worked with for HEROIN & OPIODS. He asked that same employee to come into the office to do some filing work, and instead made her dig through his laundry and sift through his DIRTY UNDERWEAR to pull out Mr. Rooter shirts for laundry.

He doesn't get Tampa work permitted and LOVES taking advantage of people in vulnerable positions, including the elderly and impoverished. He price gouges, he's an all around TERRIBLE PERSON & nobody should have any work done by him, EVER.

Don't use them.  They will bait and switch prices when they get to your house.  Our water heater had to be replaced.  I called Mr. Rooter and they said the price would be $699.99.  I asked if that included the installation and they said YES.  So they came to my house and the technician said it will be $1,063.00.  I said when I called in, they quoted me a price of $699.99.  The technician said they really don't know the prices.  You have to wait until we get there to give you a price which was never told to me.  What are you supposed to do then?  Two days without hot water and they reel you in with the $699.99 when they get to your house it goes up $300.  You're at their mercy. It would take another day or two to get someone else to come out, so I proceeded with the replacement.  Are you supposed to go to work and smell like a pig for days or boil water bucket by bucket for hours and hours to wash a part of your body.  I called the manager and he offered no apology or resolution.  He said I wasn't going to get any money back and also told me that I was lucky they let me use a $50 coupon which is in The Clipper Magazine that goes to everyone's houses in Pittsburgh, which specifically says $50 off any water heater.  I told him we went with them because he had the lowest price only to find out they were one of the most expensive.  AVOID USING MR. ROOTER PLUMBING in Pittsburgh unless you like giving money away.

First of the work was done satisfactorily. A loan was taken out to pay them until the insurance claim went through. After the insurance reimbursed us we immediately sent sent them the money. Mr. Rooter is being dishonest. They know that they were double paid. It has been over a month and a half a they still haven't returned any of our calls. Including the customer, my 81 year old mother's phone calls. Several attempts have been made from other family members. We were told that they are in a meeting and they have yet to return any of our phone calls.

As another reviewer put it succinctly, just call another plumber--not this one. You will be lucky if they call you within the window of time they claim--actually you are lucky if they even show up at your home.

Really frustrated with your lack of service.  Been trying to schedule for several days.  Why do you have an online form if all you do is respond to it and tell me to call you.  If I had been able to call I would have called.  Your dispatcher can't even take the time to reply to my emails after several days.  If service is this bad trying to schedule an appointment I'm afraid to see how it would be once I gave you my money.

They did an okay job uncloging a simple drain. However I also had them give me an estimate on capping and removing a line. They quoted close to $300 after looking at it. I later found out that the line was already capped and the spigot was not attached to anything.

I would never recommend using Mr. Rooter.  I called them to install a $280 dishwasher.  During my phone conversation with them, the scheduler could not provide me any type of price estimate because the plumber would need to diagnose.  I believed that to be fair and proceeded.  The area the dishwasher was being installed previously housed a dishwasher, so there was no additional or extensive work to do be done.  The plumber charged $440 dollars for this installation that did not take long nor was difficult.  His rational was that this was the book price for a dishwasher installation.  After following up with a manager at the office I was told that this charges was not a mistake, that their book price for a dishwasher installation was $440 dollars.  I believed this to be deceptive, as the scheduler should have been able to provide me with a book price estimate in advance of my appointment, noting that it was subject to change upon diagnosis.  The manager also confirmed that there were no other line item book pricing for a dishwasher installation, so in their entire pricing book there is only one dishwasher installation price.  The $440 was extremely high and while their business model does not appear to be illegal, it is purposefully deceptive. their The overall service attitude is quite polite and courteous, but also arrogant and aloof.  Avoid at all costs.

STAY AWAY. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!

This plumbing company is a complete Fraud. Had made a call out to them to access the situation and see if it's possible to find the cause of the blockage via camera work in my sewer line due to a clog. They send out a gentlemen whom without my consent doesn't give me a quote beforehand and then adds additional fees such as a locator fee of $500 that was never asked for on top of sticking a camera down for over $600!!!!! . In the end he tries to charge me over $1200. He then states he saw roots infiltration and that I need to get it digged up for another 8k just to spot check and potentially over 18k to fix the line. How can he even see roots when sewage is backed up????

I ask to speak to his manager after he demanded getting my credit card information over the phone. After getting his manager on the line, his manager waives the locator fee as he should (this was without my consent) but the ridiculous price for camera location which should be $150 max is absurd. After not resolving anything and leaving with my money, I spoke to some professional plummers to check out the same problem and they stated it's impossible to do camera and see anything. I requested for the video footage they claimed to have seen the roots the next day and they promised to send that over. It's been over a week and I haven't gotten anything.

This company is a complete FRAUD!!!  They charge ridiculous prices and have non experienced plummers handling there work whom tries to leach out as much money as they can. STAY AWAY!

If I could give them zero stars I would.  The above review-more of an ad for them maybe?  Are you one of them?  Mr. Rooter of Cranberry is a crook.  We were told we needed a $7,000 reconstruction job of our main sewer line...at LEAST.  The one guy tried to push us to sign that night but it didnt feel right.  The next day I had a second opinion, by a BBB, A rated company here in Pgh, family owned.  Basically they just counted the lies Mr. Rooter had told us.  Measurements, the direction of the pipe, the condition...you name it.  Total BS.  Please do not call this company, I have heard more horror stories of their dishonest work and it makes me sick to think of others getting ripped off.  I am so glad we got a second opinion, but we had already paid them close to $900-they did not fix our problem, and then lied on top of that.  Flat out LIED to our faces.  And know this-Mr. Rooter is not a member of the BBB...and failed to respond to our complaint filed with the BBB.  Can't stand by your work Mr. Rooter?

I can't say enough about how upsetting our experience with Mr. Rooter was.  We experienced a plumbing emergency in a rental property we own - the downstairs bathroom was having water pour in when the upstairs toilet and shower were used.  My regular plumber was unavailable, so I looked online for an emergency plumber.  I called a company called Neighborhood Plumbers and arranged a visit.  I was surprised when Mr. Rooter's truck pulled up.
The plumber, Darion, was unable to definitively diagnose the problem.  We learned later he never pulled up the toilet to check it.  He told me he thought the problem was in the main stack and we'd have to have the Cleanup Services company come and rip up the walls and floors to identify the problem but not to worry, our homeowner's insurance would cover that.  I should have stopped the process then and there but I didn't.
Eventually, the Cleanup Services Company identified the problem as a blockage in the line and an incorrectly attached toilet flange, problems Darion should have identified immediately.  It was 4 days after our original visit before the problem was resolved, causing great inconvenience to my tenants.  Before doing the repair work, the second Mr. Rooter plumber, Adam, came to do the work.  It took over an hour to get the figures for the estimate, which came in at a whopping huge amount, but I OK'ed it since it had already been so long and I didn't want to inconvenience my tenants any longer.  I did not put the charge on my credit card, however, as I wanted to pay by check for record keeping purposes.
When I got the invoice, I did some comparison shopping online, then called the Mr. Rooter company to complain about how high the charges were - more than twice what they should have been according to my research.  I eventually spoke to Bob - one of the owners, who said he couldn't do anything about the charges, but the next time I had a plumbing issue, I should call him privately and he'd take care of it for me.  The next day, my husband called and had a long conversation with Bob.  He asked for a printout of Mr. Rooter's customary charges, and a more detailed invoice, detailing what was done and how long each procedure took to justify these outrageous charges.  Bob refused to send any information, and finally said Well, I've just charged your credit card for the full amount.  I believe this unauthorized use of my credit card is fraudulent, and we immediately called our credit card company to file a dispute.  I don't know how that will be resolved yet.
Meanwhile, we are stuck with a mess that we have to get a contractor to fix, for the floor and ceiling demolition that was probably unnecessary.  I think the Mr. Rooter Company is in cahoots with the Cleanup Services Company to rip off insurance companies by doing unnecessary work.  But that's a different fight...

BEWARE!! I was desparate when I had sewage backup and I called Mr. Rooter. They charged me $4,000 to start the repair. Thankfully, I only gave them half of that on day one of the job. The following day, I had a friend that warned me about Mr. Rooter, so I called 2 more companies that confirmed I WAY OVERPAID! So I cancelled Mr. Rooter and prevented them from finishing their work. I only paid $200 to finish what I would have paid $2000 to Mr. Rooter. I was ripped off, but thankfully, only half of the total damage.

The plumbers are very nice but I would hardly call them knowledgable. Their pricing is way way way over any other smaller local plumbers price. They flooded my basement and blew out our hot water tank. We just replaced our hot water tank and it was 100% our responsibility. Had another local plumber here that took care of the problem and gave us a quote to fix the problem. The quote was 1500.00 less than Mr. Rooter. Throw the coupons away and call a local plumber!!

Only one star to get it on here . Do NOT under any circumstances hire this company .A guy comes to your house like a freakin used car salesman . Our sewer backs up , he appears , papers flying for us to sign. One said I'm satisfied . I said you didn't do the work how could I be ? Day one everyone shows up , plumbers seem good , friendly , day two not real bad but fence is removed , yard, garage , driveway , laundry room , gameroom dug up to the dirt . Then we get ghosted . Don't return calls,? Leave our place in train wreck ,and it is like getting a root canal to get in touch AFTER they get your money. 7 MONTHS later - not kidding -still calling daily and going to the top of the top and well - he's in Ohio, he lost his voice , the bosss wife died , such creative excuses !i I feel sorry for the few decent plumbers they have that don't even know where they'll be tomorrow. Looks like we're going to hire a regular person to put the vent in . DO NOT hire them !

Had a sewer line backup.  Called them after Gillece screwed around all morning. Guy comes out, gave me an estimate of $2000 dollars to replace a pipe that does not need replaced and run a jet to take care of the clog. Pretty much laughed him of the property. To top it off, the guy said he would have to call someone else to help.

OVER OVER PRICED.  Best advice, call a local mom-pop plumber...NO B.S.

$89 to come, won't give any prices over phone. Said 89 would come off if we get work done. So I had em go in main line with camera.. $450, i said what bout 89 comin off,  he said akready came off.  Was here 1 hour total.  Told me they had to jackhammer cellar floor,  go in change pipe since no slanted part. I said, was my grandma's house, then my mom's & now mine. How come a slant never made anything clog before.  He said he didn't know. Wanted to charge me $4900. I said what bout hydrojet,  he said  $895 but the clogging problem would jyst kerp comin back. He said I can i can use a credit card. I told him i do remember something fell in toilet couple months ago. Also wanted me to sign some paper that would take half hour to read & he wanted me to sign it anyway based on what he told me it was. Ad said they clean up but no, I had to clean up all the sewage from basement floor & put shower drain cover back on myself. Also was here by himself so he kept sending me up steps many times to flush toilet & run sink. We're both seniors, I'm 70 years old & my husband  is a veteran  with lung cancer, sick from chemo. Needless to say, it's still not fixed after it took all the money I had. I would give it 0 stars if I could but review won't post without picking a star.

Called to schedule repair of indoor cold water pipe, less than two feet. Phone rep asked if it was an emergency.  I ckearly stated that it was NOT.  Technician arrived same day.  Gave me choice of copper or pex, saying pex is more expensive, but would only charge me price of copper.  A little research shows that pex is easier to install than copper and pex tube is less expensive.  (see Bob Vila's site.). Then the technician had me sign authorization of emergency work, telling me it was just to authorize the work.  What he didn't point out was that it also waived my rights under Pennsylvania Fair Practices law which gives 3 days to cancel contract.  And this was right after he clearly stated I had 3 days to cancel contract which would result in them removing the repair.  Tech also gave an estimate to replace all the water lines in that area of house. However, the estimate didn't even describe the work that would be done.  Just a cost.  When I called the office, to express my overall dissatisfaction, the manager/owner? told me they did nothing wrong and refused to adjust price or allow cancellation.  After $50 coupon, I paid almost $367.00 for 30 minutes of work and max $20 parts.  No apology or even acknowledgment  that I was dissatisfied and felt misled.  Although the repair was completed as promised, the cost was exhorbitant and truthful communication was lacking.  They need to read and practice their own mission statement regarding Respect, Integrity and Customer focus as shown on their own website.

Called Mr. Rooter on a late Saturday afternoon for a basement drain backing up. Technician arrived with a few hours. After a ten minute job of snaking the drain, he concluded that the pipe was broken underneath the concrete. The bill for the work would be $4500 and he could have the job started immediately. When I was shocked with price, he said he could go down $250 if we signed the papers on the spot. Told him no and he was not happy. Called a LEGITIMATE  plumber the next morning and had the drain cleared and working fine within a half an hour. These people are either stupid or con artists.  Avoid these clowns at all costs.

Worst company ever! If you like being ripped off go here!
They came and fixed our leak after cutting unnecessary holes all over our bathroom, the next day... more leaks! They came back charged EVEN more money and cut MORE holes. Finally when we were broke we called another plumber and they fixed a bigger issue that this roofer caused for a fraction of the price.

We have used Mr Rooter for a number of years.  Most recently within a few weeks they did two major and expensive jobs for us.  On the second job the estimate was over $5000.  They gave the estimate on Thursday and scheduled the work for the following Monday.   They also took my credit card info prior to the work.  On the day of the job there were some discussions on the scope of what they would do and because of some scope changes, the cost dropped by about $500 (not exact).  The technician updated our invoice and said he would let the home office know of the change.

To my surprise, when  I got the credit card bill, the higher amount was charged  with no credit.  I called Mr Rooter office over three times over as many weeks and was always told that the accounting department would call back -- they never did.  My husband called last week and escalated this issue to management and we scanned and sent the corrected bill.  We were promised a refund.  Now a week later still no refund

I am really tired of being ripped off and getting the runaround.
I plan to contest the charges with my credit card company since Mr Rooter still has not made good on the promised credit.

In January, my sewer backed into my laundry room. Beguiled by the friendly face of the company's winking mascot, I called Mr. Rooter. Big mistake...Now, six months and numerous phone calls later, I am still waiting to have my yard restored to a state that does not embarrass me or make my neighbors wish I lived somewhere else. I was patient when the work that was supposed to take a few days took more than a month to complete. I kept my cool when the crew sprayed sewage all over my newly installed drop ceiling. I was understanding when they told me it was too cold to remove the mountain of dirt and rocks from my front yard, and they would be back in the Spring. Well, Spring came and went, with no work done by Mr. Rooter.  Numerous calls produced only empty promises and a what seemed like a few outright lies, e.g. I can't give you the manager's number.  She doesn't have a company phone.  Really? Finally, I called the credit card company, to report that the work I had already PAID for IN FULL had not been finished as promised. This, at  least got some response: 2 weeks later, a guy showed up with heavy machinery, scooped up some of the dirt and left. Now, I am told that they will finish the job, but not today. They have another job to do--far more pressing than the job they started in my yard SIX MONTHS AGO!!!!!  They will be over to pick up the machinery.  Do not call Mr. Rooter.  The guy on the signs appears to be honest, efficient and competent. I have yet to see that from the actual company. Save yourself some aggravation and pick a different plumber.

I have used this Mr. Rooter for all my household plumbing needs for 20 years with complete satisfaction-  work was good, prices reasonable. This weekend my hot water tank went and naturally I gave them a call-  after all they had replaced this same water heater 15 years ago.   After waiting around all day for them to come, they showed up in the late afternoon on Saturday..  After giving them a $97 assessment fee, they told me that replacing my standard 50 gal gas water tank would cost north of $5,500.   I sent them packing of course.  Three other plumbers gave me estimates for the same work and not one was more then $1800 for the same work.  Clearly, the technician is paid on a commission and didn't feel like doing the job on a Saturday afternoon unless he could find a foolish customer to pay a ridiculous price so that he could make out (literally) like a bandit.   I wasn't so foolish, but they had already swiped my credit card for the $97 assessment fee-  still a ripoff but on a smaller scale.   Mr. Rooter has seen the last of my business for this little stunt-  I hope the $97 was worth it!  Beware of this rookish operation-   Must have new ownership because they were always reasonable and trustworthy.

I paid $400 for one hour of labor and $25 in parts for an exterior hose bib replacement. Very poor quality work as well. They get you with an $89 dispatch fee and then give a high ball quote on site. A consumer would do well to stock with upfront material and labor rates. Maybe I just got a bummer plumber but I won't call again.

I called mr. rooter to evaluate a plumbing issue in my basement. I had used them before to hydroblast my sewer line which worked out fine. This time, I had a sewage back up from my toilet that I asked them to look at. They came promptly and put a camera down the toilet. My main issue with them was that they misdiagnosed what the problem was on the camera and suggested a $3000 repair (replacing the plumbing under the floor in the basement) because they said the pipes had collapsed. I had another plumber come take a look and he just snaked the line and completely resolved the problem, and said that on video there was no evidence of the pipes collapsing. I won't use them again.

Charged $800 to unclog sewer drain. The drain clogged again after 2 weeks! When they came out to clean it again after he was done, we were told it would need to be dug up and replaced. I wanted a camera scope that day to find the problem. Two days later they brought a camera and discovered the line had started backing up again. There was to much water in the line to see if there was any damage and they wanted to give me an estimate to replace the sewer line. I called another plumber for a second opinion. They came out and found that roots had started growing into the line. They completely cleaned it and showed me with a camera scope that the line was in great shape. They also applied root stopper to the drain, told me this should be done yearly and charged $650. I called Mr Rooter to talk to a manager 3 different times and they will not return my calls. I can not imagine how much it would have cost me for them to dig up the line for no reason!

No, it's really a no-star for this company.  I can't express enough the disappointment in Brian and this company.  I am in the kitchen and bath remodeling business, I know how these projects go.  I usually work with Matt Mertz Plumbing on some of my projects when our guys are not available.  But, my wife didn't want to wait a few hours longer and these guys were more than ready.  Now I have a good idea why.

To make a long story short, I wish that I had looked at reviews of this company earlier before our emergency plumbing issue was resolved by this company.  They are consistent with the other negative reviews; they do not communicate with you as to when they will show up and what they are doing, the receptionist was less than professional, they did a half hearted clean up, Brian or the manager never returned our phone calls.

Save yourself the disappointment and frustration, please call Matt Mertz for your plumbing needs.  They are always busy but worth the wait.

Mr. Rooter takes advantage of their clients, especially senior citizens.  I called them on behalf of my elderly parents regarding a sewer trap backup.  Upon inspection and snaking and a computer imaging, they told my parents they would have to dig to get to the clogged trap and charged them $3,500.  As they proceeded to do the work, they then told my parents they would have to dig outside to install an outdoor trap and that would cost them an additional $4,500 and told them if it wasn't paid in full they would not finish the work.  Again taking advantage of senior citizens on a fixed income.  We really found out what scheming thieves they were when an insurance adjustor came and told us that all the work that was done should not have cost more than the original $3,500, if not less.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!

Oh, if only I could give negative stars. We came home Tuesday night to find that Mr. Rooter was working on the elderly lady's house next door, and had dumped all the dirt from a ditch they were digging onto our property, and left track marks all the way up to our gardens. He very kindly placed the dirt AROUND the property marker that had been put in when our fence was put in. The excavator they used had Mr. Rooter stickers all over it, and was still parked in the neighbor's yard. We spoke briefly with her, and she assured us she hadn't been home when the work was done, so we went back to our house and my husband called the number on the excavator. The first girl who answered the phone, Sierra(sp?) asked my husband four times for our address, and he explained that they were actually doing the work at the address next door, and kept repeating not only our address for her, but saying, but the work is being done at (neighbor's address). He started to get frustrated after she asked the fourth time, and asked her for a supervisor because we have property damage. She yelled at him that she doesn't care if we have property damage and hung up on him. He called the local police and requested they come out to make an incident report for the damage.

In the meantime, I called Mr. Rooter back and told the girl who answered the phone this time, that I didn't appreciate her hanging up on my husband, and she said her name was Deena and she hadn't hung up on him. I apologized to her for accusing her and told her that we had already called the police, who were on their way, and that I needed to speak to a supervisor. They get very polite once they find out police are involved, and she had the excavating supervisor, Bill, call my husband back. I'm honestly proud of my husband for keeping his cool talking to Bill, who started raising his voice and arguing that it wasn't his fault his employee had thrown all the dirt in our yard, and basically told my husband to deal with it, and kept getting louder. I was standing four feet away and could hear him yelling through the phone. Again, husband told him police were on the way, and he got very polite. Husband told him that he wanted the franchise owner's number, and he refused, but told him they'd be out to fix it the next day. Husband told him this is the second time it happened (it also happened last year, but to a much lesser extent), and that if it happens a third time, we're going to be calling an attorney. The police came out, agreed they'd made a mess of our yard, and have written up an incident report.

They did come out and clean up the dirt yesterday, although the track marks are still in the yard. But apparently they called the lady next door and told her that I'd called them IMPERSONATING HER, and that I'd put my husband on the phone to IMPERSONATE HER DEAD HUSBAND. So now she's mad at us because she actually believes we would do something so freaking insane. Unbelievable. DO NOT USE.

Called them for a leaky drain pipe in the kitchen of a rental and without touching anything gave me a quote of 900 dollars. I told them to forget it still charged me 89 dollars for the call. I grabbed a wrench got under the sink and fixed the leak in 10 minutes. They wanted to replace the garbage disposal but 900 dollars? These guys are scammers don't trust them!

Mr. Rooter is ridiculously expensive.  They  installed a new garbage disposal and fixed a leak under my sink spending 90 minutes tops and charged me $478.  I supplied the disposal so this was labor only.  When I complained, their dispatcher claimed that their plumbers have no pricing discretion.  That was false because the plumber told my wife that he was giving her a discount.  Some discount!

Avoid all costs!

This company is terrible. First, they did not show up for a scheduled appointment at a vacant home, where we waited for six hours and called every 45 minutes to be told we were next on the list.

Second, they WILL NOT quote you over the phone and they changed me TWICE what they said it should be.

I hired them to do a lateral sewer camera test and a dye test. They inspected what I think was the neighbor's lateral sewer line and they never did the dye test. The technician showed up confused and told me he didn't have a camera. Then he left to go to the store to get the stuff for the dye test, which he isn't legally allowed to do because he's NOT A PLUMBER!

He came back, remembered he had the camera, insisted on using an outside drain entry instead of the two I requested he use inside of the house to detect potential problems in the house as well. He failed to complete the provided paperwork, or to have it completed and returned to me. He did NOT do the dye test and promised that his boss would come and do it. One month ago... and still no paperwork or dye test. They had no problem taking the money (200% of the normal rate for these services and no quote until the work was done?!?! Their policy??!?) and I have filed a BBB complaint, posted on Angie's list and have contacted them 15 times by phone with no response.

I would never recommend this company. We called to have our grinder pump checked as we thought it was bad. We asked the cost, they said they couldn't quote a price, but the good thing was they charged by the job not by the hour. 2 techs showed up the one one tech just stood there, the other unbolted the pump and pulled it out. He tested the pump and said it was fine, but there was something clogging the pump then said someone needs to get that out. He gave my husband the gloves and my husband pulled the stuff out. While testing the pump he dumped sewage on our floor and neither tech cleaned up. They left the sewage for us to clean up and told my husband to use bleach. They charged us $224.00 dollars and were here less than an hour and used no equipment. So disappointed with this company, a big rip off. My husband told customer service all this when they called and they offered no discount.

I am very unhappy with this business in general. I'm only giving it one star because the first rep I spoke to was very nice. I called around 9pm on a Saturday to the main number. Based on my zip code, they contacted the local branch. I said hello, the woman answered and briefly put me on hold. No problem there, I could hear the other line ringing. She promptly got back to me and I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day, between 8a-10a. In the meantime I would have to make do without a working hot water tank. So - next day I wait...and wait...and wait. Around 9:45a I contact the 800 number...and they indicated that I would need to wait until the end of my window, then to contact them back. What difference does 15 make when I'm trying to verify that they're coming? Anyway I ask to be transferred to the local branch...and she asked me which one? I sat there thinking...if I knew I wouldn't have called the main number. She finally told me the address of the location with the number.  She transferred my call - I spoke with the rep. She indicated that she couldn't find my appointment at first, I gave her the address and then all of a sudden it appeared (a miracle!) I asked when they would arrive...she apologized sincerely and stated that they were backlogged...and would show up that day, but could not provide me a time. Really? Like are u serious? After hanging up with her I scattered to find another plumber, which I did...and called back to cancel the appointment. The woman sounded so relieved, and indicated if I had any issues to call them. So there are two issues with this whole thing. First, Mr. Rooter touts on being on time for an appointment, and if they aren't you will receive a call. This never happened. Secondly, don't sound so relieved that I canceled the appointment. I think there's something else there, but I won't discuss it in this review. I will take my complaints directly to headquarters.
In my opinion, don't use this business. Although my options were pretty limited for a weekend, at least I won't be waiting for someone  planning on showing.

My septic tank backed up.   All indoor & outdoor pipes needed to be replaced with basement & bathroom floor torn up.  Very costly- $22 , 000.
The main problem now is that they didn't fill in enough dirt in the trench dug to get at the pipe in the front yard. I have made monthly calls to Anthony, who was at the job site. Each time he said he would have a supervisor call, but no one ever did.   Then he gave me the number of the director of operations, Brian Alexander, over a month ago.  He said it was the first he heard of the problem & he would take care of it.   So far, no result.  It is going on 8 months!!!!  Terrible.   They got their money months ago so they don't care.  I would not recommend that you use them.

they charge $89 to show up and give you a quote. That's $89 for literally driving to your house and looking at the problem. this Puts pressure on you to use their services which will then turn that $89 into credit. Would I rather spend $700 having them put a $10 wax seal on my toilet or tank the $89 cost and look for an alternative. giving money to a predatory and unethical company is the worst feeling in the world, because then they can live another day to rip another person off of $89 for 10 minutes of work.

The plumber wasn't vaccinated & believes the virus and Dr Fauci are a hoax.

The quoted price for the service is 3 times what another charges.  They are crooks.

I wish I had time to review this before ever calling them. I paid $240 for a technician to spend less than 5 minutes reviewing my water heater and telling me I need a new one. Absolutely unacceptable.
