Brickhaas Plumbing HVAC

We needed a gas line hookup for our dryer.  After receiving a ridiculous list of plumbing items that needed to be addressed from an upselling competitor, we contacted Brickhaas.

We were initially given a four hour appointment window.  On the day of the appointment, J.P. called to let us know he was on his way.  He arrived, checked out our existing line, explained what needed to be done and got to work.  

It's hard to get excited at the mention of plumbing work.  But, J.P.'s attention to detail and love of his work shows.  Our new gas line really is lovely.  

When we asked about replacing an existing washtub and faucet, J.P. actually encouraged us to do the work ourselves.  He said if we ran into any trouble we could give him a call, but it was certainly something that we could do.

In the end, what we paid Brickhaas wasn't that far off from the upseller's quote.  However, we completely trust J.P. and cannot say the same about the competition.  

We will definitely use Brickhaas for any future plumbing needs.

Fairly new to Pittsburgh and have tried a few plumbers that ranged from OK to criminal.  Working with Brickhaas was such a breath of fresh air!  We couldn't be happier with the experience or the result.  We needed a whole house water filter system, and J.P.'s thoughtful project planning meant that the placement of the unit was really smart, and the overall impact to our household was minimal.  Extremely easy to work with, great communication, very punctual, great price, great work.  Very highly recommend!

Showed up halfway between their estimated time that they told me they'd be at the house. I'm happy they sent two very pleasant guys to help me out. I needed to get a sink drain unclogged in our new house as well as check our basement water tank, as the inspector had noticed it was leaking.

They walked me through everything that needed fixed and were pretty fast with their fixes too. The bill didn't break the bank and I would most definitely use them again.

Could not be happier with the service provided. Initially when I called I got the voicemail. In less than an hour I had a return call and was scheduled for the next day. The techs showed up on time, listened to my description and got straight to work. Had the issue dealt with and back out the door in less than 40 minutes. I had a follow up appointment and the owner was the one that came out. Showed me the results, made sure I had the answers to my questions and then they were out and off to the next call. Costs were more than reasonable for the work and the office made sure to communicate as needed. No up selling, no bull and great service.

I will absolutely use these folks again when I need their services!

I had roots in my sewer line and these folks were quick to set an appointment, came on time, did the job and left the area clean. It was well done and I will likely work with them again. The other thing - their price was VERY competitive compared to other companies.

We had a leaking stack. A prior plumber came to have a look and didn't take much interest in the job. So we turned to Brickhaas on the basis of solid reviews. Don from Brickhaas came out to maintain our HVAC and also did a free consult. He recommended CleanUp remediation service for opening up some wall space and to deal with any mold. CleanUp was terrific, making every effort minimize more drywall damage than was necessary. Don then returned and fixed the stack in a few hours. We appreciated how he worked in a very small space to get a new ABS pipe installed. Our bathtub is finally back in business and the repair was far less costly than we feared. On the basis of this experience we also had Don fix a leaking toilet. On top of being professional, reasonably priced and skilled, Don and his crew were very friendly. We are extremely happy with Brickhaas and will continue to turn to them for our plumbing and HVAC needs.

Used this company to put in 4 mini split zones in my house its a older home the guys worked hard took a little time but they're a small company just need to be patient did a excellent job considering the home being older would use them again don't hesitate to. call them and. They are very reasonable charged me half of what other companies quoted

We have used their services for replacing our water heater, kitchen faucet and diagnosing and repairing plumbing issues the last 5 years. Their reasonable prices, response time and capabilities are truly 5 stars. We highly recommend them.

So we had two upstairs toilet wax rings start to leak.   We didn't really notice until we saw some water damage on the ceiling below.  I called a couple plumbing companies and Brickhaas is the only return call I got.  They said they could stop out the next morning to take a look.  When Don and Cody arrived they looked at the bathrooms and gave me a couple options as far as work and price.  I told them I wanted to replace all three toilets in the house and instead of setting up a time to do the work Don left to get the new toilets and Cody started pulling out the old ones.  They had the work done in a few hours and everything looks amazing.  They even set me up with someone that could come in and fix the ceilings downstairs.  Just all around great customer service.  Great work.  Really really above and beyond anything I had expected to be possible in such a short time frame.

Prompt, knowledgeable and courteous, these plumbers identified the leaks in our gas lines in our basement and outside at the meter.  They replaced several worn components (elbows, valves, etc.) and retested the system to ensure it was sealed.  They left the house in good condition.

We originally smelled a faint gas odor several months ago and called People Gas Company.  Their technitian used a gas detector to identify slow leaks at an elbow and a union in our basement.  They red-tagged those locations but would not make the repairs.

We called Brickhass to repair the leaks identified by the People's technician. Brickhass also identified and repaired two additional leaks: one outside at the meter and another leak inside at a worn, outdated gate valve.  Before leaving they explained their repair work and the test procedure (shutting off the gas and using an air compressor to fill the lines with higher-pressure air to help detect leaks).  I would recommend Brickhass Plumbing for residential gas line work.

Half the job is just showing up. Not only did Brickhaas Plumbing show up on time, he did a great job efficiently going through my list of plumbing concerns, and educating me about the plumbing in our new older home.

I use this company for all my plumbing and HVAC needs -- even simple things like a clogged drain.  I just replaced my full A/C unit with them, and they did an amazing job getting the old one out and new one in.  Prompt, professional, and extremely reasonably priced (which is hard to find for this type of company).  Highly recommend.

Had a bad back-up in my backyard with roots in my pipes. Gary found the problem that three other plumbers (chain companies) missed. He was honest and upfront with me. He charged me exactly what he quoted me and did an excellent job for what was a difficult dig. I would highly recommend Brickhass plumbing.

The gas company found a small gas leak at our meter and gas line on a Friday morning and removed the gas meter.  After calling several companies I thought of for the repair, a friend suggested I call Gary at Brickhaas Plumbing.  When Gary returned my call a short time later, he had already been researching the physical aspects of our gas service and had a plan ready for the repair ASAP.  He seemed very knowledgeable about what was needed and quoted us  price that was half of the next lowest.
Gary and his team came to our house the soonest possible time and was finished hours sooner than I expected.  He let us know when he contacted the gas company for service reconnection after the repair, and let us know when they were about to arrive.  The guys were ready and waiting for the gas company to reconnect so that they could finish and clean up.
We are extremely satisfied every part of our experience with Gary and the Brickhaas Plumbing crew.  Their excellent work, great communication, and fair price kept a gas leak from becoming overwhelming.

Both Gary and Andrew were very professional to work with.  They responded to my call quickly (Gary was actually not even working today but still took the time to contact me), Andrew got here  pretty quickly, did a great job unclogging the line, and their services were competitively priced.  I would definitely recommend them and use them again

If you're willing to pay top-dollar these are the guys for you.  Make sure you're getting a detailed quote before you agree to the work because, man, they want big bucks.

Very satisfied. They returned my call within a few hours and were very courteous and efficient with scheduling a time to have someone come and take a look at our leaking pipe. The service gentleman arrived within a few minutes of when he was expected and fixed everything without ado. Price was reasonable and what I would expect for a plumbing service call. I would definitely call Brickhaas again in the future.

Andrew was on time, professional, courteous, and friendly when he came to unclog a drain. He obviously takes pride in his work. Price was very reasonable. Will be using him again to remove and replace an old cast iron stationary tub.  Highly recommend!

Our pipes frozen underground and we didn't have water for a few days while calling a lot of other plumbers to come fix our pipe. We got recommended these guys and are so happy we found them. My wife called them at 10:00am and got a call back from them very quick. They were very polite and able to fit us in that day. Came over at 5:00 and got everything hooked up tried a few times to get the best connection and after waiting for a little we got water back! They didn't charge nearly as much as other plumbers and were generally awesome guys to have work on our house. I would recommend them to anyone in need in a heartbeat! Thank you again Gary and JD

Most of my reviews and searches are about food, but occasionally I have a need for another type of business and this is the first place I turn. You all led me to this small, local business and you were spot-on, so I am paying it forward by adding my review!

My family had our pipes freeze in the winter storm this Christmas. Friday, it was the cold water pipe, which took seven hours of work to unfreeze. We thought we were in the clear and counted our blessings as we kept the cold water running overnight Friday -- only to discover Saturday around noon that the hot water pipe was now frozen solid. Twelve straight hours of effort with hair dryers, space heaters, boiling water pots, heating pad wraps and everything else we could think of did not work and we went to sleep Christmas Eve defeated, wondering how we were hosting the rest of my family on Christmas with no hot water, dishwasher, etc. (Our efforts did eventually pay off with the hot water coming on at 8 a.m. Christmas morning and no pipes bursting. So grateful.)

During this nightmare I called a number of plumbers who list themselves as emergency 24/7 plumbers, but only Gary from Brickhaas called back. He called during the span of time that I thought everything was under control, but I asked if we could be booked for later in the week to unclog a bathroom drain I've had a problem with lately. Glad I booked them as, after the pipes thawed, the under sink drain was leaking slightly so Dominic was able to take a look at both of these things today. He called with a 20-minute heads up on his arrival, efficiently took care of the clogged sink and an aerator that was limiting water flow, installed a new kitchen sink trap assembly (which he said I could honestly take or leave; I appreciated the honesty but opted to replace for my own peace of mind), and offered solid advice about what we might do if plans to better insulate those water pipes in the future didn't work out re: rerouting the pipes from their current, poor location. He was highly knowledgeable, didn't hard sell anything and I absolutely got his card as I'll be calling them for future plumbing needs.

I asked Brickhaas to install a tankless electric water heater for me. It's not something they do a lot of, and they weren't sure about it, but after checking with their supplier and finding a good unit, they were up for the challenge.

It took a while for the unit to be ordered, but once it was, we scheduled an all-day appointment. The guys showed up and though it was a lot of work and challenging in some respects, they were very efficient in getting it done. And I think they found it a fun thing to do.

I am happy with the work they did, the communication I received, and the results.

Had a clogged drain in the basement and sewage was backing up. I called in the morning and they were at my place early afternoon. Got the problem solved fast thankfully. Will be using them in the future.

I have nothing but good things to say about Gary and the work he did to fix several leaks in my gas system. When People's shut off my gas due to the leaks, I was panicked trying to find someone to fix them on short notice at a reasonable price. Gary not only picked up the phone at 8pm, but he let me know upfront about some standard charges that can't be avoided, which other companies did not do. He told me he was available the following morning, and really helped to calm me down. Once he got here, Gary quickly identified all of the leaks, fixed them, and tested twice to make sure that they were solid. His work was clean, fast, and affordable, plus he is a nice guy to boot. I highly recommend him!

Our hot water heater was leaking and the pipes were all making noise when we flushed and used the water. They sent someone out the day I called. We needed a new expansion tank and when they didn't have one on hand he went to get one. Got it installed at a decent price, same day. My only complaint is that he forgot to turn the breaker back on to the water heater, no biggie. Would definitely call them again if we have more problems.

Don at Brickhaas helped me out over the phone at a moment's notice.  These guys are super professional, friendly, and helpful.  I found them to be extremely knowledgeable and kind spirited. I plan on using them as a go-to provider moving forward.

First I saw numerous reviews on Yelp and in FB groups recommending Brickhaas for plumbing needs so I selected them because they were local. I really liked the fact that my appointment was for a  specific time early in the morning and not a window of several hours so common with these type appointments so I could plan better.
On appointment day, Dominic and Scott arrived on time, were very courteous and professional (even learned Dominic used to live on my street), and quickly found out through investigation what was causing a foul sewage smell in my basement. Did you know that if a toilet (unused for quite some time in this case) has no water in its bowl that when other toilets using same pipes are flushed that smell comes through the toilet without water in its basin?? I obviously was both unaware the toilet bowl was dry and this was the source of the stench surrounding my basement toilet.
Turned out I just needed to flush it and Dominic and Scott also discovered I need a new fill valve which I can get at the big box stores and learn to install myself via YouTube.
Now you would think just the service visit alone would be quite expensive but it was so very low, so low that I had cash on me for it.
I also learned that they provide free estimate visits for AC and furnace repacements.
I am impressed with this business -- its customer service, employee professionalism, pricing of a service call, resolution.
I will be a repeat customer for future needs.

Repeat customer of Brickhauss plumbing. Plumber and apprentice showed up, diagnosed problem in about  10 minutes and fixed the problem in less time than that. Guys were super nice, no BS types that were very professional. Will be using them here shortly for some plumbing updates. I always feel like I get my monies worth with Brickhauss.

I called this company and always spoke to the owner, Gary, who was very helpful and informative. I called them about a leaking utility sink and water spot I noticed on the ceiling below the bathroom. They quickly diagnosed both issues and stabilized them before I could afford to have the bigger job done (replacing a bathtub drum trap and old concrete utility sink). They gave me a reasonable quote on that work, and when it turned out to be a bigger job than initially anticipated, they held to that original quote. The crew they sent out was friendly, hard working, accommodating of my family, and did great work! Never saw them slacking once and it was an all day job. I will only use them again and you should too.

We called Brickhaas to fix a couple of leaking pipes in our house and we were very pleased with the service. They were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, fixed the pipes right away, and for a reasonable price. I will definitely go to them again for future plumbing/HVAC needs and highly recommend them.

I have an older home, needless to say my inside drain pipes were beginning to leak. I contacted several plumbers to get estimates, one company said they did not want to give an estimate until they opened up the ceiling to see how much repair was needed. When I called Brickhaas I spoke to Gary. That day I received a full and reasonable estimate and he gave me a date and time he could do the job. I new it was going to be a big job, I needed all the drain pipes replaced. The guys were here promptly that day and stayed into the evening to get the job done. Wow, what a great work ethic. They were very respectful and professional. Since then I have had them replace my outside drain pipe from my down spout and sump pump to the curb. Also, called to have them repair an older leaking toilet. Gary and all the plumbers (wish I could remember names) are wonderful. I highly recommend brickhaas plumbing, for there honesty, integrity and great customer service.

Previously had good experience, so hired them to install two toilets and bathroom facet.  They tried to charge me something different than quoted but did honor the quote for the toilets.  Thought the facet installation was overpriced since basic installation and I already had the facet.  I hired them to install bathroom vanity with sink, 700.00 but did have to replace 2 shut off valves.  I only paid 249 for the 18 inch vanity.  When plumber getting ready to leave, i noticed 2 visable boards under the vanity.  I asked the plumber about that.  He said he needed them to balance or level the vanity. He put the brand new vanity over top old rotted boards from the previously vanity instead of taking them up and using new boards to balance the vanity.  One board  is just on the floor not under the vanity at all.  It looked terriible.  I had the paint the boards to match the vanity because it looked so bad.  This was the first I knew about the situation.  He didn't bother to mention what he was doing while installing the vanity.  They refused to do anything about the situation.  I would not recommend this organization.

The owner is a good friend and when I was having an issue with my bathroom he got somebody out right away.  Very professional, nice, and the cost was extremely reasonable.

J.P. from Brickhaas was very accommodating in informing me of everything that was being done to service my furnace. In the process we found a gas leak downstream of the root valve coming into my basement. He was able to make repairs in a timely matter, all the while explaining step by step what was being done. He was also able to save me $90.00 from the next cheapest estimate.

This is the best HVAC/plumbing company in the area and they have excellent customer service. They have been doing  projects for me for the past several years, which have included at least 8 projects. The only problem is its hard to leave a phone message and you need to send a text or e-mail to contact; I always send a text and get a quick response.
