Andrew and Cameron came out from Roth to diagnose some issues with our furnace. They were both very nice and knowledgeable and showed us our dirty sensors and what they should look like. They provided information about the improper sizing of our system and many things we never even realized could be an issue. They even were able to schedule Josh to come out the same day to give us an estimate on installing an AC system. Overall, we are very happy with Roth and will use them again in the future.
Jay helped me work through some concerns I had and I am pleased to rate them a solid 4 stars.

HVAC Tech, Nichelle arrived at my mom's house and immediately charmed away the anxiety we had after waiting many weeks for her company to diagnose a heat pump problem!
Thank you Nichelle, for your kind attitude and attention to detail.
I called Roth heating when our furnace broke and they reassured me they would come out same day as it is winter and we have small kids. After taking my credit card for the visit charge (which is not applied to cost of repair I was told)., four hours went by with no call from their technician. When I reached out to them, they unapologetically informed me that nobody would help today.
Very disappointing ...look elsewhere for your heating needs.

Roth was recommended to me by a co-worker who had nothing but good things to say, so I thought I'd give them a try.
I called and explained exactly what I needed to be done. The individual I spoke with was friendly and seemed on top of things, took good notes and read them back to me, so I was confident that they knew what I needed and would be able to communicate that to the technician that would be coming out to my house to give me an estimate on the work.
The technician comes, goes over the notes, and I explain what I'm looking for in more detail. Then the technician tells me that's not really the kind of work they do and charges me $.00 for the consultation. He did work up an estimate for me, but it was clear it was not work they wanted or would really be willing to do.
I feel Roth had multiple opportunities to understand what I was asking for, and determine that it was not in the scope of their practice prior to the consultation... prior to me having to take an afternoon off work, and prior to charging me $90.00 for nothing.
Smells like bad business practices to me, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
UPDATE:
Wow! Thanks for that dismissive explanation, great five-star customer support.
/sarcasm
I totally understand Roth sending a technician out is an expense to your company... one you clearly don't want to consider the cost of doing business. And yes, the $89 fee was explained to me up front (I never said it wasn't), and I was fine paying it assuming Roth was going to make an honest attempt to fill my need.
I don't think you understand the source of my frustration. The technician clearly stated to me this is not the type of work Roth typically does. And as I also previously stated, yes, I was provided a quote. A quote that was $2000 dollars more than the next highest estimate I got for the same work, sending me the message that it is clearly not work Roth wanted.
So again, my frustration is still the fact that Roth had at least two opportunities to tell me this is not work they wanted and instead they charged me $89 to waste my time.
Awesome customer service and work. Beau was exceptionally professional and quick. Dispatch and phone customer service was excellent as well. Roth literally saved us thousands of dollars on our plumbing repair.

Roth's Heating and Cooling team did an amazing job and exceeded my expectations! I see there are some negative reviews, and most seem to be about pricing, but I was happy to pay for the service that I got today. Adam was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable from the minute he arrived to fix my furnace. Every interaction I had with Roth, even the people in the office on the phone seem to take pride in what they do. We have had a lot of good AND bad experiences with other HVAC companies, but I am a Roth customer from now on.
I have already praised Roth's professional and prompt service to my neighbors. They came in the same day I had called to review my situation. Came back first thing the next morning and quickly repaired the leak. Thank you Andrew and Chris!! Darin came in the next day to check out and go over the next step to have the drains all flushed. Roth has great people!

Wow, great customer service from the Roth technician today. I scheduled yesterday and was able to get a next day appointment. I got an call from them when they were on their way, and an email with a profile of the technician who was coming (nice touch!). He was incredibly professional, thoroughly explained what he was doing, and got approval for the extra costs before he performed the service. I see some questionable reviews from a year or two ago - from my experience they've definitely gotten their act together. Highly recommend them.
I found water spots on the ceiling of my garage - which meant a leak coming from my 2nd floor guest bathroom located just above that spot. I called Roth immediately and they dispatched Journeyman Plumber, Kevin Van Dyke to my home. Kevin went above and beyond to find the cause of the leak which wasn't obvious. His troubleshooting and superior skills narrowed down probable causes until he found the issue and quickly fixed it. He went above and beyond to make sure similar issues weren't occurring in my other bathrooms and even checked the sinks, etc. He was honest, and upfront about what he was doing and saw I was stressed about the possibility of severe water damage. His kindness and positive attitude helped me to relax knowing I was in good hands with Roth. The price was extremely reasonable, knowledge at expert level, and customer service was amazing! Thank you Kevin! I am a Roth customer for life.
I called Roth to fix the cold water supply line to my washing machine.
The valves controlling the water supply to the washing machine were 30+ years old. I have wanted to change them out for sometime, so the plumber from Roth and I agreed this would be a much needed maintenance task that would also resolve the cold water supply line to the washing machine.
The plumber, Brandon, explained what he was going to do, how long it would take, and got to work. After he finished he told me there was something wrong with the original plumbing and that the new water supply valves were only part of the problem.
The problem sounded bazar, but in keeping with other problems we have had with the plumbing on that side of the house I was not surprised as we are the original owners of this house since 1992.
Brandon had Ron, the Service Manager, come out and look at this bazar job. The three of us talked about it and Ron said, Let's make it right. This old plumbing clearly is not our fault, but it is our responsibility to make it right.
When I asked him how much the additional work would cost he said, Nothing. I was very surprised and happy.
Brandon got to work doing the fix that Ron suggested and in no time the problem was resolved! Resolved at NO additional expense. This is what I call 'good old-fashioned service' that in my experience (I am 71 years old) is not common anymore.
Lastly, I usually don't write reviews like this. But in this case Roth hit it out of the park.
Brandon and Ron are outstanding in their trade and their customer service. I am whole heartedly recommending Roth for all your plumbing needs.
Call Roth. Like me, you'll be glad you did.

We just purchased a ductless heating pump system from Roth and couldn't be happier. They were professional, communicated when needed and had the system up and running within two days, as promised. I would highly recommend Roth to anyone looking for a heating or cooling system.
Had their tech Vance come over to diagnose and repair a few issues with my Home Comfort Zones system. He was on time and fantastic. Came with booties and a few Milk Bones for my dog. New his stuff and fixed several problems and found a way to discount some of the parts I needed. Very professional, courteous and competent.
Every time we have called Roth and they have come to our home they have exceeded any, and all, expectations. Whether it's an emergency or regular maintenance, they always go above and beyond. Today we had a routine maintenance check done by Joe. He was on time, extremely thorough, constantly checking in with me, answered all my questions and was so thoughtful. It's easy to see how important their customers are to them because the quality of their work and their customer service exceeds expectations every single time.
We had issues with our furnace and Oleg made sure everything was fixed properly and was in good working order. We appreciated his professionalism and work ethic. Roth is very fortunate to have such a dedicated employee as Oleg.
We just had the works done to our 1922 craftsman house. Garth Hepler was first to come to our house and work up a bid. His knowledge of older houses and how to properly update the system was comforting and accurate. He talked through all the options and helped us create a heating system that fit our needs.
It took three days to remove the old oil furnace and duct work and install a whole new gas furnace, gas line, duct work, supply and return vents... in other words, The Works! The crew was led by Kenny E., assisted by Chad A. and Jesse L., who did a fantastic job! Weaving the duct-work through an old basement like ours was not easy, but it looks so nice now! Every register was a custom fit, which they did such a nice job adapting to the old registers. They showed up right on time every day and were kind and courteous of our house and dog.
Here was the kicker: At the end of day three, the time came to fire up the new system. With a small glitch in the system, a technician was called to figure out the problem. At this point, we had dinner plans that we couldn't cancel on. The crew left except Kenny, who told me he wanted to stay until the technician arrived and the job was completed. It was a Friday night and Kenny stayed till almost 8pm... keep in mind, he hadn't left our house since he had arrived at 8am that morning. He ended up locking up the house and texting my cell phone (by our request) when he had finished. Truly above and beyond work displayed by Kenny and his crew!
Our house is warm and cozy and we love the end product. We couldn't be more happy with the work that was done. Every person along the way, from the people answering the phone at the office to the follow-up technician, was professional and helpful. We could not be happier with the quality of work and character of people this company employs.
UPDATE: My wall got fixed by their patch man Bill. He was very communicative and did a good job fixing the walls. It looks as if the bulky pipes were never there. The pipes were also moved to the area above the ceiling and are no longer in view. Everything was coordinated by Jay who made sure everything was done and fixed. He was really pleasant to deal with. I wish they did all these the first time they installed the AC itself and saved all of us the trouble.

It was such a pain dealing with this company. We went through with them because we went through Costco and they are the company that they do contracts with. From the installation to the inspection to the payment, they were so disorganized I could not believe Costco uses them to deal with their customers. When we signed the contract they said it would only take 1 day to do the installation, it ended up being 2 full days. They were missing parts or something. We could hear one of the contractors blaming the one who gave us the estimate how he messed up big time. They did not even use boot covers while they were doing the installation and managed to break off our door alarm in the front door, no apology was given. After they finalized the installation, we were not told if the AC was safe to use or not. They did say the furnace was broken and needed to be replaced. Okay, that's a bridge we'll cross when fall comes. But for now we need to know about the AC. They scheduled an inspection from the county and the inspector showed up and he told us that the installation was not done yet. The inspector was appalled the way the AC was set up and he said he's never seen it like that before. We had to call the Roth office to tell them what is going on. They always pass you on to somebody who would know and still they always sound confused. Then they told us an electrician has to come still and finalize certain things. The electrician came and set up the plugins. Still, there's something wrong with the humidity drip. IT just didn't look right. We are no AC expert but it definitely did not look right. We told the electrician the situation and he advised us to call the office. Which we did. We got passed off multiple times. And then the payment, they advised us that we had to call the bank where the debit card is from so they can charge us with the cost without being stopped by our bank since it is a big purchase. We did. 3 weeks later they call again asking the same thing. Really? Why wait that long and attempt to charge it when they called few weeks before that? They could have attempted it then. We finally gave up and just told the office we'll mail a check instead.
They managed to wire the thing across my laundry room with those big bulky pipes and the humidity drip straight to my laundry sink. It just does not look right. Anyone would be angry. I have told them my concerns but nobody listened.
Do yourself a favor and use another company. And oh, they are quick to ask when We want to set up the furnace installation this time, I told them I used another company instead. We will not make the same mistake twice.
Very prompt and professional service. Figured out our problem and got the circuit working again. Zan was very courteous and knowledgeable. Roth's has been very helpful in a variety of our homeowner's needs.

The service provided was great but we needed a minor repair done and they have flat rate pricing. Technicians were at our house for a little over an hour doing a simple repair and we paid $850. If you are getting a big plumbing job done it is worth it cause they can stay all day and do multiple things for their flat rate. Needed to state that clearly at the beginning to us tho as we needed a minor repair so would have chosen another plumber to do our repair for under $400
Roth Heating & Cooling installed my air conditioning this week. The experience was second to none from start to finish.
Garth was the sales rep who came to the house to bid the job. He was very pleasant and explained everything thoroughly. I didn't feel pressured and felt that he guided me to the appropriate system for my home. The installation was scheduled for the following week.
Jason, Nick and the electrician showed up on time and were very nice to work with. They kept me informed as they worked through the installation and were done at the time they had given me that morning.
Thank you to all from Roth who worked on the job. What a pleasant experience. I highly recommend them!
I cannot say enough good things about the Roth Heating & Cooling team lead by Kody C. His team of plumbers, electricians, and MVAC technicians (at one time, I counted eight guys) worked in a very professional, courteous manner, played with our Australian Sheppard all day long, and replaced our dead combo furnace/ hot water heater (originally installed and serviced by Roth in 2000) with a new natural gas furnace and hot water heater in one day - bringing heat to our house after being without for a week! I can confidently give them my highest recommendation. Good work guys!
This was my first contact with Roth, after calling several plumbing companies and being told to wait up to three weeks to do a simple kitchen sink leak repair. Roth scheduled the appointment the following Monday and John Haugen came on time as scheduled to do the repair and completed it within 20 minutes. He did an excellent job and was very thorough and professional. I highly recommend him as well as the company for being as responsive as they were.
Had several pendant light hardwired connections moved. They were excellent! Competitive quote, very professional, on time, and really great communicating. I highly recommend and we will use them again.
The diagnostic was just a hard upsell, no focus on actually fixing the problem. I went with another company who fixed the problem for a fraction of the cost.
Had a great experience with Roth Heating last week. They came to perform maintenance on our new-ish HVAC unit. Kind of a tricky job as it's located inside our condo. Our tech Deon Kishpaugh was on time, very professional, and friendly to our dog. He showed us where our system was dirty (and where it wasn't) and made me feel good about my investment. Recommended.
My husband and I had a small fire in our utility closet. The service master and the insurance company asked us to have an electrician look at the wiring for possible damage. I made an appointment on the phone with this company, and I was told that I would be charged $89 for the electrician to come. I agreed. The electrician came, looked at our utility closet for five minutes, told us that everything was fine, and proceeded to present us with a $336 bill for diagnostics (the minimum he could charge, according to him). I told him I felt deceived, since on the phone I had been told that it would be $89. He said that was just for coming. I told him that if they knew there would be diagnostic work involved, they should have told me beforehand that I should expect to pay at least $336. And this is why I am giving them two stars, instead of one: at least, they do realize that they rip customers off. He called his boss, and they agreed to charge us only $89.
Something else that upset me: the electrician was extremely sexist. I was the one who hired him, and when I opened the door for him he didn't introduce himself to me. However, he did to my husband. He shook his hand (he took the initiative), and gave him (not me!!!!) his business card. After I (I repeat: me, not my husband) paid, he shook hands with my husband again, and left, ignoring me. That is just unacceptable.
Great service, all my questions were answered, friendly service men- Nick and Nathan. Explained everything you

Over 10 Years of Outstanding Service
Roth Heating has taken care of our heat pump and furnace on a maintenance plan for over 10 years. They call us every spring and fall to schedule the servicing, making it hassle-free. My 90 year old father was living with us when the furnace broke down and the technician loaned us a heater, from his own house(!), for a day while the parts came in. When the 28 yr old heat pump finally needed replacing, they did the job quickly and professionally, without a problem. We moved recently and when the Roth's technician inspected our new furnace, he recommended changing the style of air filter -- and saved us significant money in our heating bill. Over the years, everyone at Roth has treated us well and professionally. We will never use anyone else.
I have used Roth Heating and Cooling since I bought my condo 2 years ago. They are ontime, professional, always polite and friendly. They have repaired, and serviced my heat pump/air conditioner semiannually. I am very pleased with the services they have provided. They always take time to explain exactly what they are doing and ask if I have any questions. The service techs are great. Thank you for awesome service! I would highly recommend this company! Thank you Dalin F. for your service call today. You were here early and got the job done efficiently. Thank you for your comments and explanations. Good job!
I can't select a single star. So very disappointing. After having learned of Roth after they sponsored a community event I participated in, I hoped to use their services. Called in to get a AC Service and was told it would be 3 weeks and $99.99 (this was at the beginning of July and it was already hot). They placed a hold on my card for $35 or something, which is just lame in this day and age especially for a larger company, but again, I thought, hey, community building organization, I'll live with this.
The techs that came did not call ahead as I was told they would. Nice enough young guys, the first entire 10 mins was spent explaining their service plan and trying to upsell me to a long term contract. Frustrating because here I'd had no experience with them and they are trying to sell me into a package! Then they went about their work. At some point I was able to break away and mention that I had concern over a couple of cracked pipe insulators as well as cleaning the unit. They said nobody uses pipe insulators anymore and that they had better stuff, specifically a tape, that they would use. Well, they never did that. Also, I asked to ensure they were going to clean the unit. They said, well, we'll clean the filter. I wasn't sure if that meant the entire unit as described by any basic handyman manual to do, and said okay.... On their exit they brazenly asked had I made a decision on the packages. Roth must not give them much training in the art of services selling !!
After they left I realize they cleaned NOTHING and didn't replace the cracked insulation anywhere in the unit as they said they would. So I called the office the next day, and asked, Does your AC service include cleaning the unit and the person on the phone said, Let me check (hard to believe). He reviewed the apparent checklist and said I don't see that. I will ask the manager to call you. I waited the rest of that day, and 4 more days. Then I checked the list: sure enough Clean Outdoor Unit is right on there. And then I compared Roth Heating and Cooling to other companies. Other companies are more specific than Roth, specifying what they are doing versus Check xxx/yyy/zzz. And again, as compared to basic handyman 101 for AC units, the MOST important basic step is cleaning the unit, vacuuming the condenser fins carefully, and removing any debris that block airflow. I cannot support this company on either service professionalism or the actual work performed and suggest you think very carefully before contracting for their services.
Great communication from first request. Their licensed electrician Ken arrived on time and provided several options for completing the needed install. Very much appreciate that he detailed the benefits and limitations of each option and did not push for the highest cost option. I would recommend both Roth and in particular Ken.
We were very pleased with our seasonal check on our furnace and heat pump this morning! The man who serviced our heating system was very nice and thorough and our system was in great shape and the service didn't cost us anything, with our monthly service payment plan.

I worked with Sam L. On the install of my furnace and air air-conditioning. He was phenomenal. Kept me in the loop all along the way. Very friendly and knowledgeable, he definitely knew what he was doing. He went the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of. I would recommend Roth heating and cooling to anyone.
This was the worst experience I've ever had with any company, ever. I was given false information and entirely manipulated into thinking I needed a full system replacement when my rain drain system was in perfect shape. I called Roth looking to have my rain drains cleaned on the new house I just bought. They sent Cody. Very nice person and seemed incredibly knowledgable and caring. I explained that I wasn't aware of the condition of the rain drains or how well maintained or not they were. He saw my lack of knowledge as an opportunity. Instead of hydrojetting the drains, which is cleaning, like I asked for, he proceeded to tell me that the drains were clogged and were compromised by roots as well, and that many times replacing the whole system is the cheapest way to go - because if sections needed to be repaired on several drains, that could add up and it can end up being less expensive to just replace the whole system. The whole system replacement quote was $10k. I had no idea what to think, I was in shock, and assumed that this must be the route to take. He told me that roots had destroyed the drains and there wasn't much to do but replace them. I reluctantly signed a few papers agreeing to the work. I slept on it and called and emailed the next morning letting them know I did not want the whole system replaced and I wanted them hydrojetted - which is what I called to ask for - I told them that if the hydrojet didn't work, I could figure out what to do at that point. It turns out he hydrojetted only ONE of my 4 drains - and it was clear - so that was his good news for me that day - the other three were the ones he SAID were compromised. I needed a second opinion and I called Grumpy Drains to clean the drains. They came out, cleaned all three drains for about $500 and it took 15 minutes. They were kind, honest and glad I didn't spend $10k on a whole system replacement! Because NONE of the drains had root systems compromising them!!! Roth LIED. None of the drains were in need of repair. Cody didn't even try to clean them! He just tried to manipulate me with false information into thinking I needed a whole system replacement. There are zero issues with my drains and I almost got swindled out of $10k. Dishonest. Manipulative. Lying. Cheating and Unethical. I ended up having to pay $1k to Roth for the ONE drain he cleaned due to the fees and fake video he said he took that showed i had roots invading the drains, which he didn't even take because there were no roots! I shared my whole story with customer service and they were kind enough to refund $400. In the end, I still paid $600 for lies and one drain cleaning. This company SUCKS.
Had a little hiccup yesterday evening with our new electrical and Chris A. took take of it first thing in the morning. He told me today that I should of called him last night. Outstanding customer service!!!! Thank you again Chris A. for getting this done.

I contacted Roth with an emergency and they came out right away. Justin was provided and clear quote and gave me regular updates.
The work was completed on time and no surprises. The county inspector said the work that Johnathon did on site was very nice
Fabulous! 100% recommend! Mary is wonderful, kind, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable! In one day she sent our 3 crews. We got all new plumbing, air filter and electrical plugs grounded! Everyone was informative and explained why we needed things! Such a great team!

We had a water pipe burst and Craig came quickly and fixed it! Roth was easy to schedule; they were up front and honest about the problem and gave us a quote on the spot, as well as rapidly fixed the problem. I really could not ask for more.
As always, the problem is bigger than it seemed at the beginning (due to water heater issues not anything else) and we've had to call them back twice. Will A came out two times so far and was excellent. He solved the first problem in two minutes and was so flexible while we felt the chaos continued and the third time they came out (as the demo on the room started) he had to repair even more piping and did an excellent job.
I'm grateful we've found someone we trust who can do such a great job, efficiently and expediently.
Roth came out to check why my water heater wasn't working. Kevin was professional and found the problem quickly. No parts needed.
We purchase a new home knowing the HVAC would soon need to be replaced. We just didn't realize how soon. Of course, the A/c went out on a 100 degree week. I scheduled an estimate and when he arrived, he replaced the capacitor and at least got us functioning. I shopped their bid and found them to be competitive with the best servicing contract. They are also one of the few companies that will give you referrals on duct cleaning. Oddly, others won't touch it. New system installed and working beautifully. Minimally invasive and very tidy job. From Angela to the techs, everyone is professional and courteous. Extremely satisfied with this company.

Jackie came out to do our twice yearly inspection today. She did a great job and gave us great recommendations about repairs and replacements on our unit.
I have purchased and installed a new furnace ($3,789) along with a new thermostat ($225) by Roth Heating & Cooling Co. The installation was in spring time so I thought it was working properly then.
Now it's winter and I started noticing some intermittent issue. I am not sure if it's the furnace, thermostat, or the installation, the heat sometimes fails to come on. I would often feel the house is cold then check the thermostat, it's set to 70 degree but the room temp is 68. To force the furnace to come on, I'd repeat 1) set the temp below the current temp (will make a click sound), 2) bring up the temp (will click again). 3) hope it'd kick the furnace on. As you can see this is quite annoying.
I called Roth Heating & Cooling assuming this is under warranty but they said I'd have to pay $79 for them to come out and diagnosis. They could not tell me it'd be covered by the warranty. Technician would have to decide. I asked the rep. in what case it would NOT? He sounded bothered by my question and could not give me an answer.
I made an appointment next week. I'll see what they can do about this. I will update my review then. But for now, 2-star is all I could give as my old furnace worked better and am regretting I should have fixed the furnace instead of buying a new one or could have bought something else. I also did not notice any difference in efficiency of this high efficient furnace they sold me.
*** UPDATE ***
Someone from Roth Heating & Cooling called me next day and apologized for the mis-information. There is no charge to come out and diagnosis. On the following week, the technician came out and we both diagnosed together with Sensi thermostat tech support on the phone. That did not fix the issue. The very next day, the heat failed to come on again.
This time I called directly to Sensi. Their tech support walked me through to diagnose. After 50 min on the phone, we finally found the issue. The thermostat was not set up correctly for the furnace I have. It was set up for 1-stage furnace instead of 2-stage.
I am glad the issue was easily fixed but since both furnace and the thermostat were installed by Roth, they should have configured the thermostat correctly then. I'm adding one more star for the follow up but no more for the mis-configuration at the installation time and the lack of knowledge about the product they sell and install.
Nick came out and looked at my aging HVAC system. Its almost 30 years old and working ok. My AC compressor started squeaking last week off and on so I need to get it checked out. He told me It is working ok, but suggested replacing Furnace/AC at some point. He could not tell me how long before it died. He called Garth and he came out and gave me a quote for a new system. I decided to replace the system now before it dies on a hot day. To be continued on the review once system is installed and working. So far I am pleased with my experience.

Very happy with our recent a/c installation experience with Roth! From start to finish, the process was quick and well-managed. On the day of installation, the crew was on-time, professional, and efficient. The lead crewman was very communicative, polite, and answered my questions throughout the day. Overall, we are very pleased with our decision to use Roth and would certainly recommend them to others looking for similar services.
Roth Heating and Cooling also provides electrical assessment and repair. I requested an electrical inspection of my condo. Roth electrician was prompt, professional and pleasant. Evaluation was easy to understand and a necessary minor repair was made on the spot for a reasonable price. I recommend this service.
We've been using Roth's for several years now. They take very good of us. It all started with the furnace. Now they come out a couple times a year and make sure it's running properly and change the filter. Check my a/c and the water pipes inside and out. Every employee that's come out have been pleasant and kind. Knowledgeable and a sense of humor. Thank you Roth's!
Great experience from start to finish. Bought my new furnace and heat pump thru the Costco program. Was given three different setups to choose from and each was thoughtfully planned to not only meet the needs of my home but also to ensure optimum rebates. Glad to have worked with these guys. On time, efficient, responsive, professional. Cleaned up after themselves and provided a perfect installation. Would highly recommend!

Professional all the way. Called in advance and arrived on time. Great product, installation, and electrical knowledge and helpful with all questions and requests.
I highly recommend Roth Heating and Cooling for all HVAC needs.
The service technician was pleasant and took care of my furnace problem right away. He took care of my filters and even looked at my gas fireplace although it wasn't part of the service call. He was prompt and courteous and I was impressed with his professionalism. I'm glad that I signed up for the service plan because anything that goes wrong, I can have someone there within 24 hours! well worth it!
I recently purchased a new heat pump and furnace through Costco. Roth was the assigned vendor. I had a tight timeframe and wanted to take advantage of the tax incentives and rebates before they expired on 12/31. Roth was able to accommodate my schedule. They arrived on time whenever they came out and were very professional and courteous.
I couldn't be more pleased with my new Lennox system. It's quiet which is a welcome change from my old furnace. It keeps my house warm all day without having extremely hot air blowing. I'm looking forward to summer and having the AC. The new thermostat can be controlled remotely and is easy to operate. I haven't gotten an electric bill yet but hope to see big savings.

I've used Roth several times over the years and have found them to be fair and knowledgeable. Its usually something real simple. This week their guy came out to look at my pool heater that was broken, he found the problem, a lead in the heat exchanger, let me know they don't sell pool heaters but showed me the lead and said the unit needs to be replaced. Anyway, he didn't charge me anything for the visit. He could have spent a lot of time billing me, but instead, did the right thing. I will definitely us them again.

Admitting you're wrong can sometimes be hard and mistakes will happen. It is how to respond to those issues. They made it right and I have no problem giving them my business in the future knowing that they stand behind it.

Not happy, Roth installed a furnace in December 2014, the co2 pipe wasn't glued and it has fallen apart, called to get a service call, was told it will be January 19th before they can come out. Also got asked for a credit card number to pay for the faulty installation. This is over a week without heat for an installation job they didn't do correctly. I am just glad I happened to notice it before our garage and/or house filled up with co2. I expected better customer service for a job they did incorrectly.

On 11/6/12 I had the pleasure of having Travis Albright at my home for my furnace repair Although Albright was new and didn't repair my furnace on his first trip out he explained to me what the likely problems were and told he me would return later that afternoon with another technician who was going to help him problem solve. Albright returned as promised with parts that he thought would take care of my furnace. Within the hour I had HEAT!!! After 2 1/2 weeks of dealing with a competitor, I wish I would have called Roth first. Quick and professional service is what I received. By the way, my total invoice price was $100 cheaper then what I paid your competitor for a job they couldn't complete.
We called Roth for a couple of plumbing issues at our Commercial Office Building. The dispatcher had someone on the call first thing the next morning and John, the plumber, was able to troubleshoot and fix the sink and the toilet in about 2 hours.
We will definitely be looking to Roth for our building needs in the future!
I had a heat pump installed. He was very courteous and did a very professional job installing. The only problem was the cost of the work. It was a little more than I thought, but I think I paid for quality. I will know for sure this winter. Roth emailed me to remind me of the appointment and provided some background on the rep that was coming out. I appreciated the communication.

All of the other reviews are accurate: diagnostic is just a hard upsell and they ended up charging me $1900 for a $500 toilet. Stay far away!
After using Roth for a few other homes, I called to get our current furnaces serviced. Roth had serviced this home prior to us owning it and was aware of the specialty filters it required, however when I made my appt, they never mentioned it nor confirmed we would have filters when they came. On the day of the appt I was told our furnaces take a very special Lennox filter they don't carry on their truck. The tech was going to go to Tigard to get the filters which would have added 40+ min to the appt. After climbing into the attic to get the size of the second furnace filter, we decided it would be best to reschedule so we could have the filters for the next appt, which was now another 45 days out. When the tech left, I was under the impression he was ordering the filters. I began researching, and realized that I could get them significantly cheaper by ordering them myself. 3 weeks before the second appt I started calling Roth to get the size of the filters so I could have them for the appt. After leaving multiple msg's I finally spoke to a manager 5 days before the appt. She said the technician never wrote the sizes down and I'd have to pay for another appt to have someone go into the attic to check. Although she agreed that the tech should have written the size information down, there was nothing she could do. I canceled my appt and will be going elsewhere. We've always been happy with Roth in the past. I'm shocked at how they handled this situation.
Cody and Michael showed up ready to do the job I had requested, unclog my Kitchen drain! Cody looked at the plumbing arrangement under our kitchen sink and said he would like to make a suggestion to help prevent future problems. I told him to give me a quote and he said before I do that let us prove we can do what you called us out to do! Cody was very attentive to details and truly seemed concerned about any other issues that I may be concerned with. He did not hesitate when I ask him if they could do a crawl space inspection. Thank you for the work performed. As I said Cody that looks nice!
Thank you

$89 to come out and give an estimate for INSTALLING AN OUTLET? Are they joking? If it were a really extensive wiring job or if they were troubleshooting a serious problem, that would make sense, but $89 for an estimate for a straight forward installation of new outlet in a space that already has outlets nearby is completely ridiculous. I told them no thanks. I've got a dozen other electricians happy to come out and give an estimate for free.

Roth Heating did the initial install of the HVAC in a small commercial building I have in McMinnville. The system would not work. Eventually it was decided that we needed to change the operating system. Roth obtained the replacement operating system for 'free' but then charged me to install it. The system still didn't work. After spending 10s of thousands of dollars I had to replace virtually the entire system. I fired Roth. Wish I'd know of Yelp before I started since it seems All of their commercial reviews are negative. :(
When your A/C goes out on a 100 degree weekend, you call everyone you can find in your contacts and on the internet, hoping anyone can come to your house. Roth responded promptly, and had a technician to the house in a few hours. He was friendly, courteous and showed up when promised. For the Sunday fee of $200, which I knew and was happy to pay, he diagnosed the issue with my home a/c as needing a full compressor replace, but due to age of the unit, recommended a full replacement. The advice was to speak with the office on Monday for a quote on a replacement unit. The time frame for replacement was approximately 3 weeks, and a cost of $4-6000. I understand that it is the middle of summer and people want air conditioning installed, so wasn't surprised.
As I had called a number of service providers in my attempt to get someone to my house, I took a call from someone I had used before, explained the situation and asked if he could give me a quote for an install and also do a second opinion on the diagnosis.
After a little time with the unit, he was able to repair it, and indicated that at its age, a replacement would be in the near future, but wasn't imminent. He was surprised that the Roth tech didn't find a way to test the compressor, to determine it was in fact working fine.
Now, like I said, I had no issue paying a premium to have a tech come to my house on a Sunday. But I do have a problem having to pay a second tech to actually fix it. When I conveyed this to Roth, they offered to make it right. They assured me that my A/C would indeed fail soon, and when it did, I could have my $200 back in the form of a credit on a purchase of a new unit. Time will tell.
Thanks Roth, but no thanks.

A nightmare experience! We bought a Living Social deal only to have their employees try to rip us off with jacked-up prices. When we called to resolve a cost issue, the lady we talked to--Lisa--was extremely rude. Stay away!
Kudos to Jackie and Darin from Roth Heating and Cooling! Darin made sure my drains were clear and was thorough and very friendly and helpful. Jackie spent a long time making sure my hvac system was clean and working perfectly. She is knowledgeable and extremely personable. She didn't ask, but she was here long enough for the fudge to harden on my signature chocolate drop cookies. So she got to take some home for her hard work! I'm always impressed with Roth and their representatives.
A miserable and costly experience: Charged me $89 to reset my tankless water heater and tell me that it needed a flushing service. But access ports needed to be installed first. So total cost would be about $980.
After agreeing to have that done, the problem persisted, and the technician then determined that the unit really needed to be replaced. Quote for new unit and installation - AFTER a $500 discount: $5575.
I did some quick research on the cost of the recommended unit and installation, only to find their prices were almost double what they should have been. I found another manufacturer-authorized installer who quoted me less than $3000 to provide/install the same model recommended by the Roth technician. This other installer also said that anyone who was familiar with unit I needed to replace should have known that the flushing service would do nothing to remedy my initial problem.
So Roth misdiagnosed the problem, charged me for a solution that did not work, and then wanted to give me a deal by charging almost double what it should have cost for a new unit. What a bunch if rip-off artists.
Roth installed our first furnace when we bought our new home 15 years ago. It finally need replacing so I logically called them. They checked their files for our particulars and quoted me a price which was double the price that I was quoted by Wolcott. I had it installed yesterday for half of the Roth quote. Needless to say I won't be doing business with Roth in the future. The pricing was exact model and install.

Called Roth because they were top of list when I did a search for hot water heater installation. Answering service said there would be a trip charge and needed credit card info before they could schedule. They also refused to provide an estimate before coming out, so I told them to forget about it. Called George Morlan Plumbing and they not only gave me a firm price but replaced the water heater the same day.

Roth just installed an HVAC system today for us. Our house did not have air conditioning previously, and we have them replace the furnace and water heater at the same time. So far I'm very impressed with the quality of the installation, and the installers (Glenn & Jose) were very helpful in teaching my wife and I how the equipment works. Our salespeople Garth (& Steve) were also very helpful, informative & polite. So far our dealings with Roth have been nothing but positive. We highly recommend using Roth, & will update this review if that changes.
Jackie D. from Roth serviced our HVAC system yesterday. She showed up on time and very thoroughly, neatly and efficiently took care of our system. She explained everything and answered my questions. She was very neat and clean despite the rainy day. She even crawled into the outside heat pump unit to check it out and clean it out. She was the happiest technician I have seen as was humming and singing as she performed the work. It is nice to not only witness someone doing a great job, but also enjoying it. Thank you.
Roth Heating and Cooling is the best! We've had them install our AC, thermostats and furnace and they have serviced them twice a year ever since. We decided to buy one of their service packages. That has saved us quite a bit of money plus we get super-fast service when something goes wrong. I wish all home contractors could be this good!

Used these guys for my work recently. They got my quote to me fairly fast but the follow up was bad.
We had scheduled a day and time. They were to drop off equipment early in the morning. 30 minutes go past and nobody. I call them but can't get a hold of them because the phone is disconnected. I had to email them. Finally they tell me it'll be there at 8 instead of 7.
Then they had no time for when the actual repair would be started. They didn't show up until 11. No call from them. All exchange via email that I had to initiate. The only thing they could tell me was the service guy was out and about.
Would not recommend.

We are so appreciative of the crew that come to replace our electrical panel. They replaced an old, unsafe panel; kept us informed about what they were doing and why; very careful when in the house. I would highly recommend!
Homeowner beware. While Roth Heating did our initial new home install, and did what we thought was a good job, 7 years later, this December, they came out to give us a quote on replacing our under-house venting due to field mice issues. Not only was their initial install of some of the ducting laying on our vapor barrier (on the ground), the recent bid to simply replace the crawl space ducting was nearly triple what 2 other reputable companies bid. Right now in our world, we need to look out for our neighbors. I've lost faith in this local company - while all really nice people, they tried to gauge the wrong homeowners. We served as the general contractors on our build, and know what FAIR PRICING and labor costs should be.

Roth came to our house on a Friday to check the air conditioner for routine maintenance for which we pay an annual fee. Technician checks the furnace while he is there. Tells us the ignighters are out of range do we should replace them. Quote is $600. Next day our heat doesn't work. All day Saturday nobody calls back until 3:30 pm to tell us they cannot come out until Monday. I call back and say that we are members and have a 24/7 agreement. Roth tells me that they did look it up so they apologize and they will send a technician. Nobody called or came out. This same type of incident happeded last maintenance visit. Heat dropped working the next day which cost $900 on top of the $450 annual maintenance. Very suspicious! I would not recommend Roth to anyone.
I was very impressed with Roth Heating & Cooling throughout my A/C purchase and installation process. I had three bids and may have done more, but I was in a hurry. I was impressed with Roth's professionalism and felt confident that they would do the job correctly and were providing the highest quality components. Lennox has been ranked by Consumer Reports as the lowest in overall repair rates, so I was happy to choose that brand over the other quotes I had. The prices were comparable, but it helped to be getting the cash card back from Costco.
The installers were very professional and efficient. They found an issue with our dehumidifier's condensation pump, and though it wasn't part of the contract, they went into our crawlspace and corrected the problem.
The A/C install seems to have been done appropriately and seamlessly.
I had a leaking hot water heater. I called Roth and was told they can't give quotes over the phone. So I had a rep come out and give me a quote. I had already checked with Home Depot and knew what I could buy a new hot water heater for. I had a neighbor offer to help me install it for $60. I figured I would pay a premium for have the work done as opposed to doing it myself. I was not prepared for the quote I received. Over $2200 for a hot water heater installed - What are these people smoking? I had the work done by a local plumber - cost was $936 done the same day.

Our problem was a water pipe had burst in the attic over our garage . ROTH plumber , Will Adams responded to our home ,and had the knowledge and skill to find the area in need of repair in record time. Mr. Adams had also fixed a toilet problem a month ago. He also gave us tips on how, in the future, to avoid a recurrence of our water pipe problem. He is professional, knowledgeable and skilled in providing first rate service.
I highly recommend ROTH to provide FIVE STAR service at a reasonable and fair price..
Rick H was my technician and he was soooooo Great! I haven't had my unit serviced in 7 years (since it was installed) and my unit was working overtime! Rick was knowledgeable, showed me before and after, suggested a servicing plan (which I did sign up for and it is awesome) and was all around professional and super nice! I will only request him to come out now that he knows my equipment inside and out. Thank you Rick!
We got a new Lennox heater thru the program that Costco offers in partnership with Roth. Sweet deal. Great service. Really efficient heater!
I had an issue with a service, Ian Johnstone called me and made it right, I appreciate it.
We had Roth heating and cooling come and service our system. The technician who attended was called Deon Kishpaugh and he was very helpful and thorough. He took time out to explain exactly what he was doing and why to my husband. I would most definitely recommend them as a company.

Wanted to charge 79.99 just for a consult, then wanted my credit card info, including the CVV number over the phone. This is all before even sending a technician out. What a scam.
This company was great - in particular, journeyman electrician Ted Parker. Came over masked up, geared up, ready to go. He worked with us, was pleasant, professional, unobtrusive, and did exactly what we wanted. Put in a number of outlets and switches safely, and installed a new chandelier in a very hard to reach place. He even got us bulbs, which as parents of young kids, we had forgotten! Ted cleaned up afterwards, was friendly with my dog, and is an outstanding rep for this company. I do recommend the company overall as they were open to negotiation on a job that was big for my budget, and they happily rescheduled the work when I needed to. Very positive experience. Hope you get Ted if you use Roth.

I can't remember the last time I felt so ripped off and charged for absolutely nothing. I wanted Nest security cameras put up around my house. They told me that there would be an $89 diagnostic fee. When the tech came out, there was NO diagnostic work done. He showed me laminated sheets of the products (which I didn't need because it's all the same information I read about on Nest's website already). When I called to make the appointment, I told them exactly which products I wanted. The reason I needed an electrician out was to make sure that it was compatible with what I was looking for. (i.e. Is the doorbell cam compatible with my current system.) All that happened was I pointed to where I wanted to cameras and he showed me the laminated sheets. He didn't even look at the current doorbell to see if it was compatible. He said that I could do that. Additionally, he repeated several times that his 14 year old son installed all the Nest cameras around his house. If that's the case, why was I given a completely unreasonable quote of: $813 per outdoor camera, $527 per indoor camera, and $607 for the doorbell?!? He tried to justify it by saying that the cameras products were included in the price. But you can buy the Nest cameras for $300 for outdoor camera, $250 for indoor camera and $230 for the Nest hello doorbell. The labor cost here is ridiculous. By the way, this cost does not even include any wiring work. I was quoted an additional $218 per wiring per camera location. The quote without the wiring was for basically drilling holes and putting up the mounts. I should also add that I asked what the install fee would be when I made the appointment and they said that they couldn't tell me on the phone and that the tech would have to tell me. Geez, I wonder why? I guess it's an easy $89 for them.
I asked if he could just give me a quote for the labor part so that I can get the products from Nest directly. He said no because if he was going to try to go to bat for me and get me a better deal because of the number of cameras I was getting, I needed to get the cameras from them too. Guess what, he nor anyone else from Roth contacted me with this better deal.
I should also add when it became obvious to me that the tech was going to do NOTHING for the $89 fee, I thought I would ask him about an outdoor patio light that hasn't worked in a while. He did not look at it or touch it, but said to me to try to change the light bulb. Seriously?!? How much more insulting can you get?

Is there anything lower then 1 star????Unfortunately, Roth has performed inadequate service at my house. I am disappointed because Roth came to my house and did not repair the issue, however sold me a thermostat for 1,200 and the unit still does not work properly; the service was not performed correctly; I was billed the wrong something was not disclosed clearly or was misrepresented. I have waited at my home today as I set up an appointment to have them return to complete the work they did not do the 1st time.

To resolve the problem, I would appreciate your company to take Appropriate action or I want: a refunded to my card credit, as the repair have not been completed
With every negative there is a positive. The tech Bob was outstanding! Excellent personality and defused a difficult situation. Bob we loved, ROTH we did not!

Andrew did a great job. He was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He identified the issue and a replacement part is being ordered. Roth is fortunate to have him as an employee.
Roth did our annual furnace tune up and I was fortunate to have John Harrison show up with his apprentice Matthew.
The gentlemen were polite and courteous and went about doing a through service of the unit.
As Matthew was learning the ropes, I could hear John walking him through what to do and what to look for and he made sure the service was done correctly.
All the while that they were doing the service, they occasionally played with our overly enthusiastic dog who has never met a stranger.
I'd highly recommend both of these gentlemen and would gladly ask for either or both to do out service next time.

No show. I made an appointment for Monday 930. No show, I called, the lady who answered said I was on the schedule for 930. I said no ones here, she had the guy who was supposed to be here call me back, he said he was double booked, and they'd tried to call me Friday, Id returned the call Friday and s told it was a conformation call and I was still scheduled for 930 Monday. the salesman said he could be here 100 Monday @ 1000 Monday when the appointment was for 930. I have
to be at work. I'm not going to use a company that cant even get their scheduling right.

I own a duplex in North Portland and my tenants let me know that both units in the duplex were not receiving heat but the blowers were running constantly. Garin came out to assess the issue and was meticulous in his process and communicative and honest about not knowing exactly what the issue was as an exact diagnostic wasn't presenting (which is what a different tech had also told me) When I talked about replacing both furnaces, they were able to send someone out to give me a quote within the hour. Though the pricing wasn't something I was able to afford, the sales guy Dillon was super knowledgable, honest and really knew what he was talking about.
Called Roth to unclog a toilet. It took maybe 15 minutes and cost me $298.00! I realize they have to make money, but that is ridiculous.
Once again, wonderful service from Roth Heaing. Aaron was professional and fully explained each process. He's an asset to your company.
I purchased my furnace from Roth through the Costco promotion. I'd compared prices with two established, reputable companies in Portland and found your cost to be 15%-20% less than each. Including the generous Costco rebate, my savings was over $2,000.
I was given a thorough explanation of everything to be done and they made sure I had all questions answered. Job site was left clean when they finished.

Upon delivery of our new dryer we discovered that our outlet was not up to code. A dear friend of mine suggested Roth Heating and Cooling as they had just installed a new water heater in his home. I had no idea that Roth was now offering full electrical work! Kevin Simpson came out and did a very efficient job or replacing our outlet, getting it to code and getting our dryer up and running within about and hour and a half. I was so grateful as we had been dryer-less for a couple of weeks! Kevin was very professional, courteous and personable. We couldn't be more pleased! I am an interior decorator who will definitely be referring my clients who need electrical work to Roth! Thank you!
We discovered a leak to an outside faucet. The customer service at Roth's was very pleasant, polite and efficient . They were able to schedule a plumber to come out the next day. Will was helpful, professional and courteous. The leak was fixed in a timely manner. We would recommend Roth and their employee, Will without reservation.
His is a dishonest company that uses fraudulent business practices.
My A/C stopped working 2 months ago. I had a company come out and give me the option to not do a dye injection and pressure test and only recharge the AC. they said that if the AC won't work after a while, then we would know that it leaks. So it leaks since now it only flows out warm air. where does it leak? I decided to call Roth, expalined the situationa and requested the service for a dye injection and pressure test to detect the leaks in my AC. I emphasized this and said I needed to speak with an AC professional. I got a call back from someone named Megan. Megan stated she understood what I needed and would send a professional over to my house to provide a comprehensive diagnostic test. I asked her if by comprehensive that meant dye injection and pressure test. She said Yes and assured me what the service would be and would cost $89. The technician came out to my house the next day. He then stated the AC leaks, and gave me big estimated cost for the dye and pressure leak test. What??? This is what I already quoted for and paid him for. Now they are demanding more money to do what I already paid him for? Of course there is a leak. As I had explained. This had been already comfirmed. I did not pay him to come out and waste my time. I paid him to find the leak locations.
I demanded a refund. Megan acted confused. She said did not know why the technician did not do the dye injection and pressure testing. She said she will talk to the guy and get back to me. It has now been over a week.
Do not use this company. They will quote you for a service and take your money. But, will not do the service. They will waste your time, take your money, and cause you to write a review similar to this one. This company needs to review its principle of practice to operate its bussiness with honesty and integrity. Stay away!
If ZEro star is an option, I would have absolutely used it
I had some repair work done on my furnace. The work was done very well, However when they were finished the tecknition said that it would cost an additional 3% unless I paid up immediatly rather than have them send a bill in the mail like my other suppliers. When I paid, the tech could only provide a work order and not a proper invoice. I expected to get an itemized bill so that at least I could check the addition. So far all I have is a work order and it's been 2 weeks. I think that is very poor business practice. If you demand payment you should be able to provide an invoice at the same time
We recently purchased an older home that did not have a heat pump. After researching and getting several bids we selected Roth Heating and Cooling and their private label Earth Smart system. Their pricing was about the same as other companies we looked at, but their warranty was much better and they had a good reputation in the local area. Their installation crew (Sam Livesay, Miguel and Justin Haworth) were on time, extremely professional and very easy to work with, answering all of our questions and taking time to show us how to use everything on the new system. They took their time, did an excellent job covering up all the wires and pipes on the outside of the house to make it look nice, and cleaned up everything after they were done. The house is nice and evenly cooled now and we look forward to having lower electric bills all year round. Highly recommend this company.

I was impressed by Roths from the first time I called for a quote/price estimate. I just bought my first house and they were extremely patient with me and took the time to explain the process of getting an air conditioner installed. They were also flexible with time and payment plans. The gentlemen who came out for the quote and installation all were professional, friendly and experienced. I felt in good hands. Another thing that surprised me was that if you cant call the office during business hours they had an answering service to make sure your message was taken. From start to finish, customer service was top notch so much so I felt I needed to write a review.
What a great experience we had with Roth replacing our dead furnace! They were quick to diagnose the issue and provide a detailed bid with four different replacement options for us. Once we decided, which included communication over a weekend, they completed the install (we were without heat) within two days working through a number of unusual conditions to complete the job. We couldn't ask for better and would refer them unconditionally. Jason, Chris and AJ are the best!!

We have been using Roth for years now, for our personal house as well as two rental houses. We've used them for heating, electric, and plumbing, and there is no other company I'd rather have service my homes and keep them safe. Three years ago Roth installed a new gas furnace in our home, and we've never had a problem. Contrast that to the experience my friend had with a different company, where her newly-installed furnace went out on virtually every 25-degree day, at least FIVE times, and finally, a repairman said the furnace had been improperly installed and he had to re-install it. She knows now she should have used ROTH!!!
I also love the women who work in their office. Sweet, funny, helpful, and knowledgeable. They are a joy to talk to. :)
We are now two weeks into a malfunctioning furnace. We started out with another company because Roth has a strict policy requiring customers to have credit card info on file or banking info. I have been a victim twice that I know of with theft of my ID and credit information. I requested a copy of their policy on how they secure the customer's information after a valiant try to bypass their ridiculous policy. They said they would email it to me immediately. Four days later, nothing. In the last week, Roth has been here three times, including last night. We are still having the same problem and have spent about $700 to date for the four visits so far with nothing fixed. Not happy!!!!

the Hvac tech showed up right on time and did a great maintenance job on our heating units. this would normally garner a 5 star review. Now I am waiting for an electrician to arrive for home gerator hook up. I am not sure what time the appointment is. It was originally for afternoon, but recieved a call earlier in the week for morning. Since then no communication. So this drops the rating to 3 stars.
Flat rate pricing, way over-priced, unethical business practices, dishonest company. They assured me I would get breakdown of pricing so I could submit it to my insurance. Little did I know that flat-rate pricing means you don't get a breakdown of pricing, even if they told me in their cagey way that I would get a receipt with all the work done. They knew exactly what I was asking for, but they chose to not tell me, no you won't get a breakdown of pricing for your insurance. They found ways to get around telling me that. Very poor way to run a business and take advantage of people. Their price was way out of line, as well. And never an explanation of why they were charging me such a high rate.

Installation took three days for AC and heater. Seemed like a competent install but was more than they quoted.
1.5 years in, AC stopped working. Tech found a bug (real one) in the contactor. Cleaned it out and charged $173. Called to question, and Brent asked, cattily, were you there? That was it for me.
They charge a flat rate for repair so they don't have to argue about things taking so long if they do. So I said, then I paid for someone else's repair today, and he says, again like a smartaleck, no, you paid for yours.
Anyway, I wouldn't deal with them if you could avoid it.

I have been nothing but impressed with every sing staff member of Roth Heating from the receptionist to the repair guy, to the sales person and installers of my more furnace.
The repairman was very professional, and explained and showed me my issue on the old furnace. He was on time, clean, and very professional and explained things in Layman terms.
I needed a new furnace. The sales person, Steve was on time, friendly, and very clear on each option.
The installation scheduling went as planned, and everyone was exceptionally professional. Again, the walk through was great, and my furnace is awesome!!
I will totally use these guys as necessary again. You can tell they care about the customer experience, and frankly that goes a long way!!!
Had a terrible experience after already reeling from our home being older and needing a lot of repairs. Called to get an electrical assessment. Our encounter began with him complaining he had to drive so far. While they told me on the phone a cost assessment would be given up front, the technician told me it would cost just to look at our outlets clearly to make it worth his while. Reluctantly I had him change four outlets because they were in bad shape and with plastic melting I didn't want a fire. When I asked for clarification on what he was doing he spoke condescendingly as if I'm not smart enough. To top it off he left a mess of cut wires all over the floor and wouldn't put a blank plate over wires after eliminating an outlet despite asking several times so I had to go to Home Depot buy one and do it myself.
We called this company because of the work they did at our neighbor's condo. We live in building built in 1971. Although we have central air conditioning the air flow was out of balance, over cooling the first floor and seriously inadequate on the second floor. Several other companies simply told us nothing could be done, it was a poor design at construction.
Roth recommended a full duct inspection to see if any reasonable changes could be made to the system. Our technician, Andy, was undaunted at the task before him. Within a very short time he discovered a flaw and created a solution. The air leaving the furnace is directed both down to the crawl space and up to the second floor. He found that the opening to the duct going upstairs was improperly sized. Not only did he increase the opening, he added an air scoop to capture at least half the air coming out of the furnace and direct it upstairs. He also was able to balance all the vents on the first floor, limiting some and capping one. He added a second register in the master bedroom on the second floor and with all the adjustments to the system more than doubled the air flow to the where we sleep and also increasing air flow by 25% to each of the other upstairs bedrooms.
We a glad we called Roth, from talking with Rich who suggested the inspection as a starting place, to having Andy make such a creative contribution to our comfort. Highly recommend.
We originally found Roth after having to unexpectedly having to replace an AC unit (through Costco) and were really pleased with the installation process. We decided to get a service contract and had our first appointment. The technician Elyse Hooper was COVID-safe, really informative and happy to answer questions we had about possible solutions to getting better cooling on the top floor of our century old house. I rarely ever choose to have service contracts but so far are very happy that we did....and VERY satisfied with every contact we've had with Roth HVAC personnel....thanks much to Elyse!!!
Recently moved to a home in near Portland Or. The house had a furnace system, their house brand, sold and installed by Roth Heating and Cooling. The system, only 12 years old, failed over our stormy and cold weekend. Called for service, had to wait 3 days for someone to show up. Tech got the system working, but it failed again that night. Left word that problem remained, never heard back. Finally called again and after much persuading, they sent another tech, who seemed attentive and competent. So I signed up for their maintenance program, which promised priority service. Well here I am on Thursday, again with a broken furnace, and no promise from them for a service call either tonight or tomorrow.
I also had them bid to replace a unit in my home, price is double that of their competitors.
Update:
Four total service calls (final 2 calls at no cost, to give them credit), but a waste of $300. And furnace still failing every night.
Replaced furnace with another company for less than half price of Roth quotes.
Don't waste your time or money on these guys. They have even blocked comments on their their social media, so not possible to warn others away, thus my post here.
I used twice Roth a year, for over 15 years, to service and maintain my home HVAC and my wine cellar cooling system which they installed (and according to a Roth tech it was installed improperly with no access for service). I noticed their attention to detail began to slip when they expanded into plumbing and electrical services. Their downfall with me began when they were a no show for a scheduled appointment, with no call or a apology. I re-scheduled only to have them call and move the appointment, not once but twice. Now to add to their reputation I called to schedule them out to repair some damaged duct work and was told they would not do the work unless I signed a maintenance agreement. Not an impressive way to treat a long term customer!
I HIGHLY recommend Roth's!
We've been with their competitor's and will not go back. Roth's came to our rescue, got heat in our house the next day, and trouble-shot a noise coming from our aging duct work. They're all very professional, punctual, and efficient. They cross-train new technicians and know heating and air conditioning. I've now signed up for their Premier Service Plan.
Thanks Roth's!

Will Adams at Roth Heating & Cooling saved me hundreds of dollars today by showing me a simple fix with my bathroom faucets. He was very knowledgeable about what I could do to keep them from leaking in the future. I certainly recommend this company with any of your bathroom needs.
Called regarding no heat. Tech told me there was a loose wire. $147.00
Called the next day. No heat. Different tech came out. Dirty filter. I held the filter up and looked thru it and could read my license plate number 20 feet away. Replaced filter. Ooops, furnace still doesn't work. OH, its the pressure switch. Be back in a hour with new switch. Sorry that doesn't fix the problem. Got to be the control board. Back in a hour with a new control board. Bingo that fixed the problem. 6 1/2 total hours over two days with no heat.
Both techs were very nice people. Couteous, friendy and tried to be helpful but were totaly lost.
I did recieve credit for the $147.00 1st call.
Total bill--$476.46 for a repare that should have been dianosed on the first call. The experience seemed more like a training session for new techs than a repair call useing experienced people.
Roth Heating will not be coming to my house again.
Our tech was efficient and professional. He inquired if I had questions and went the extra step to help.

Roth installed a new Lennox air conditioner in our home. They were very professional in all aspects of the process. The final price was right at the bid, no extra charges. They were very accommodating in routing the plumbing so it would be out of sight.
Very pleased with the installers and the whole process.
We decided on Ponderosa Heating in Sisters, Or to do our new heating and cooling system 2 years ago. A big part part of the reason was their warranty service and twice yearly check-ups. They also re-insulated the ducting system below the home. Have nothing but high praise for their service. From the polite ladies on the phone to their service team. Levi stands out as a knowledgeable and extremely helpful tech, and has been here several times, from setting up new thermostat to fixing bent aluminum fins on outside of conditioner that painter helper blasted with pressure sprayer (oops). Highly recommended company.

Roth installed a new high efficiency gas furnace and an air conditioner in our home. Product wise I give them 4 or 5 stars. We had some follow up issues and while not promptly addressed, they met with overall satisfaction.

Paid these guys top dollar for a brand new heat pump installation. Expected a top quality product with an A+ install. Got a ridiculously overpriced, unbelievably poor quality unit. And the inexperienced installers cut just about every corner they possibly could installing it. Now I'm out $11,000. And stuck with issues that, if not immediately addressed, would cause premature equipment failure. Which I'm not sure was unintentional. In fact I'm pretty sure it isn't. There are flaws in the design of the unit that could only be intended to cause premature failure and/or the need for overly frequent(and extensive) servicing. These problems are totally obvious and were purposefully ignored. Can't even believe ANYONE would even make, sell, or install such shoddy equipment. And then add to the fiasco by not even doing the job correctly.
THESE GUYS ARE JOKER RIP OFF ARTISTS!!! CALL SOMEONE ELSE!!!
Our original heat pump died and needed to be replaced. The old system was working fine up to that point. We used Roth to replace the system, which included the inside air handler and thermostat. The install took all day. At first it seemed OK, but we realized that nearly all of the air was going to the second floor. A temperature of 66 downstairs would gives a temp of 70 upstairs with the vents closed. A second visit added some dampers that we're supposed to be installed to isolate the Heat Recovery Ventilator. This didn't address the heat distribution issue. The third trip mostly solved the balance issue. Unfortunately they charged an extra $500 to do this, after already paying over $25,000 for the system.
I used this company once before and had a similar experience. My conclusion is that they can install the bits, but fail at balancing the system to make it usable. I will be using someone else in the future.
I have used Roth for years. I feel they give me fair service, will give you a list of items that may need replacing, and will strongly recommend changing out parts as necessary. They don't waste time, and very friendly. Kevin came on this call and was pleased to answer my questions.
They also do electrical, plumbing, vent cleaning.
Call them.
Asked these guys to come out for an estimate. They arrived on time and provided useful information so I will give them one star. Everything else was subpar. When I made the appointment for the estimate the appointment setter requested that I provide my credit card. I asked why if there was no charge for an estimate, he told me they just needed it and if there would be a charge for the estimate he would let me know later. (I should have walked at this point) One week passed after the guys came out to provide estimate and I had not received anything. I had to follow up and then Art sent me and email with the estimate. The work they quoted was to run pex pipe to relocate a water heater maybe 25 ft., Minimal material less than a day of labor. For the ridiculous price that they quoted me I was able to find an excellent plumber who for the same price did all the work that Roth Plumbing quoted plus: installed a whole water filter, ran a new water line to a refrigerator, installed a new gas line to a range, removed an old water heater and gas lines and installed new shutoffs to all the hot/cold lines in my house.
We used Roth to install a Goodman Heat Pump. Roth was excellent from salesman, to installers, technicians and final inspection. They made sure we were happy with each stage of the installation. Highly recommend.

My AC broke and due to my furnace and AC being greater than 20 years old I opted to replace both. I called 4 separate companies and three came out. Roth did a phone quote. I really like to meet the individuals in person so I can judge their character. When I have individuals in my house to do work I like to meet them in person prior to agreeing to a contract. I also think when the other companies came out they looked at my furnace and AC and discussed ways to make it more efficient. I like the personal touch.
Fees are unethically and immorally high. I would never use Roth again nor recommend them, ever. One word for their charges: ASTRONOMICAL.
$1600 for 4 hours, with minimal expense for parts, is outrageous. If their fees were more in line with other plumbers, they would have received 5 stars. A business to avoid.

We moved into our home two years ago. Our heat pump was put in by Roth's 4 years prior, which was within warranty. The fan went out and Roth's came out for their $99 fee to look at it (by the way most companies don't charge a fee). I was told it was under warranty, but since we weren't the original owners, we would have to pay for labor-- fair enough, how much is labor? We were quoted $950 labor to replace the fan! When I inquired how long this would take them, he told me 2 hours... So I asked him why they were going to charge $475/hour labor and the tech replied, because they have to pay our employee benefits. I proceeded to call another company, who was able to get the warranty part in two days, installed on the 3rd day, $175. It took him 20 minutes.... Roth's is absolutely taking advantage of their customers. Save your money and shop around.
Had our 6 month heat check today and as always, it was a very thorough and comprehensive check. Darren was great and explained how best to get the most out of our system and how to maintain it properly. We have been with Roth for many years and appreciate the service and reliability.
Whoever comes out for whatever I need or for our bi-annual service maintenance on our HVAC systems. They are very quick to respond to take care of something or provide another person w/more expertise. They always listen & are very courteous & patient w/me. We've used this company in two different cities we've lived in & they still out do other companies we have tried. Can't recommend them enough.
Called mid-morning on Wednesday. The amazing agent answered right away .... took copious notes .... responded with a couple of reasonable options .... under promised and way over delivered. She called me back twice with a projected eta for the technician and quoted reasonable pricing. Brian arrived exactly on time, began diagnosing the problem right away, fixed the items we asked about and gave excellent advice for replacements. We will use Roth in the future and recommend them to friends. Excellent, courteous service and highly trained pros! Thank you for the nice job!
EXCELLENT service! I will never use another heating/cooling company! Roth has ALWAYS had the most professional and friendly service techs! They are respectful, courteous and easy to talk with. THANK YOU Roth for always going above and beyond!
I should have read the reviews before we had our heat pump put in! Their representative Lyle was so nice and he sold us on his company. It was after Lyle that things just went down hill. The unit itself is fine. Their customer service really needs improving...the communication was NOT good. Jon came out to our house and was a nice guy but missed the fact that we needed a plug put in for the pump that pumps the condensation outside. Our last unit never needed one so we didn't know that would be needed. That was a cost we were not expecting and never told about until the unit was installed. NOT OK. It was frustrating. The plug that was put in was run on top of the wall all the way around to the furnace...doesn't look the best so that would have been nice to know too. Communication is a huge factor in customer service...their company doesn't do this well at all.
They have been running promotions through Costco.....I really think that it just put them over the edge. They were too busy and didn't have enough people to do the work.....
Would not use them again.
Roth did an outstanding job quoting and installing a new Lennox gas heater for me. They were on-time, fast, courteous and thorough.
Called them friday atound noon to schedule a visit they were suposed to call me back havent heard from them

Amazing approach these people have.
I had a leak below the guest bathroom and made an appointment. I had cut open the ceiling where the leak had dripped through and had a guess what it was. The guy they sent out is super courteous and respectful - and he confirmed it was simply the wax ring for the toilet. Feeling very relieved, I shut off the fill for the tank and flushed the toilet. This helped for 2 reasons - the tank was empty and we went downstairs and confirmed that the water was leaking at the ring, not in the plastic pipe. Fantastic, I think, let's fix it, since I'm more busy than usual right now. Sure, he says, let me write up the quote. The quote to replace an $8 wax ring was $559. Since he must have done this before, he must be able to do it faster than me, which is in about 45 minutes. But let's give them the benefit of the doubt - they want $500 an hour. Great work if you can get it, to be clear, $500/hour is over $1 Million a year. Seriously, $500 an hour for changing a toilet wax ring and I already emptied the tank. I happily paid the service call to get rid of them. Wow.
I don't know how these guys are in business. Scheduled a home visit twice. Two no shows. Got an email from someone with an outrageous quote (wrong service quoted) without even seeing my house. Good luck in the real world fellas. Stay away from this company. Something is clearly wrong.

We schedule it a month out for a replace. We had a little hiccup on scheduling but they fixed the hiccup and came out as planned that day. They installed the next week. We have had to call to fix some leaks but they have responded so far when we call that day. So far I am very happy and hope it an good continuing relationship with Roth Heating.
Wow! From start to finish Roth had amazing customer service. I have to work with a lot of various vendors on a daily basis, but Roth really stood out on a personal furnace and A/C install we just did on our home. They were very prompt and thorough. Jason in service was excellent and our two technicians were fabulous (Kenny E and Jose M). Every night they cleaned up their project and were very tidy and predictable. All went as they had described it. I highly recommend (and I usually don't write reviews or take the time to do this)!

I want to correct my previous posting. The 2nd and 3rd year after purchasing the new Lennox a/c unit, the refrigerant leaked out and we had to have parts replaced. Now this year it has happened again, but they want to charge me $854 to put a new part in, plus the $313 they want to charge for coming out and finding the leak.

The service provided is thorough and the techs are extremely professional and clean up after themselves. The staff make convient courteous calls to schedule an appt as well as appt reminders.
Very disappointed in the high pressure tactics of installer to replace entire unit. 20-25k estimate. I then contacted another company same recommendation for about 1/2 the price. Called a few friends found a 30 year veteran in the biz out on his own does work within 2 days of diagnosing. Replaced motor and thoroughly cleaned the outside part of unit all for $700. I understand it comes from the top down and especially when their is consolidation in the industry lots of pressure. Just wanted to give Roth some true feedback no hard feelings.
We had an appointment and waited all day. At 4:40pm they called and said they couldn't make it but they'd be happy to reschedule us in 2 weeks! Horrible company. If you call them do NOT expect them to show up.
I can't comment on their work but they charge $89 just to come out and give a bid. Personally I am not a fan of this practice. Further, it's not waived if they are hired.
Thank you once again Roth Heating and Cooling for Maintenance work on my furnace and heat pump. Cody was very professional and informative about what he found and what to do next. Thank you Cody for getting me signed up an affordable membership to keep up on maintaining my home. I definitely recommend Roth Heating and Cooling Services.

Had a routine maintenance on our heating system. Mentioned an issue we were having with ER backup not auto working. Technician took the time to try an fix or investigate it. Was pleased that they looked at it even though they couldn't fix it.
We used Roth to install a Lennox 6 years ago and have been unhappy with the whole process. We have had issues with the heat pump yearly, turns out they installed it wrong so something cracked causing a leak.
The thing we are the most unhappy with is the repair service. They don't keep good records, even though we've been using them for years they never have access to whats already been done. They don't keep their agreement regarding approximate time they will arrive. We've been told twice that we were first call only to find out that they gave that slot to someone else. Not the customer service I'd expect after a $13,000 heat pump purchase and installation.
***update- changed my rating due to great service the last two times.

ROTH TAKES ADVANTAGE OF CUSTOMERS AND OVERCHARGES THEM. A repair technician came to my home to help with our non-functioning AC unit. He identified the unit and our furnace was old and needs replacing. All told, he was fine and honest so this review is not about him - it went off the rails when I was contact by their salesperson.
The quote from for a new furnace/ac unit started at $21,000 and then, with some deep discounts he could find and a switch to an 80% furnace he could maybe get it down to $18,000. I asked if there were any rebates or credits from the state/feds - and I was told no.
I got another quote yesterday from a local heating and cooling co. and a major brand HE furnace/4 ton AC unit came in at $14,000 - FOUR THOUSAND CHEAPER THAN ROTH WANTED WITH AN 80% UNIT.
Oh and for some reason this other company has access to an Energy Trust of Oregon rebate (which they file for you) bringing down the price another $1,200 - so my price - installed - will be $12,900 for a complete new HE system.
I FEEL TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ROTH.
Wow. This is hands down the most unprofessional company I've ever tried working with. I had scheduled my appointment a week out for today. They told me they would call to let me know when they were on their way, but instead they called to cancel without any prior notice. When I called back to ask how I got bumped from the schedule with no warning, they told me that they prefer to prioritize member appointments and the next available time was a week away. It will be 111° here this weekend and I had booked in advance to proactively ensure I had an appointment. Clearly this company does not honor appointments. I stayed home from work and moved my day around to accommodate Roth's arrival, but unfortunately there was nothing they could do. What's even more inconvenient than reshuffling my whole day around? My AC still is broken. Do not waste your time.

Darren came in on time, was courteous and explained what he will do. Kept me updated throughout the whole yearly maintenance visit.
Offered additional if not needed. Gave quotes in writing. He was not pushy at all.
Nice, seamless experience.
Roth Heating & Cooling did a GREAT job taking out my old HVAC system and installing a new system, made in America.
I went to four different companies to quote swapping out my old and busted heat pump and furnace for a new heat pump and furnace system. I performed a side-by-side comparison. Roth was highest in all categories. In my mind, I had written them off.
Through the process of investigating the different bids, I contacted all companies. Two washed out because they never called back. For me and my wife, between the last two, Roth called back and answered all of my questions. They were great. We decided their responsiveness showed excellent customer service and that we wanted that. We went with Roth.
For the other contractors, the installs were 2-3 weeks out. Roth basically asked us when we wanted it installed. Seriously, they installed it today, about 24 hrs after signing the purchase agreement.
I had a delivery truck show up this morning with a pallet of wrapped equipment. About thirty minutes later, Tony and Caleb showed up. They worked through the day. They kept the work environment (our house) very clean. They were respectful and professional. They completed the job in less time than was thought. When Caleb was in the crawl space he noted that two of our vent laterals had become a bit disconnected, so he connected them quickly. He noted that the previous HVAC condensate drain had been left to drain in the crawl space. He removed it, they added a condensate pump and ran the drain outside. They went above and beyond and it truly seemed like that was just business as usual.
We have a pretty old house and are just starting to find things that will be needing upgrade, like plumbing and electrical. Roth does this. I will be calling them for all our work. They seem to really believe in customer service! That is sooo worth it.
Dan was prompt and so helpful in covering what could be done to improve our HVAC system. He took extra time to answer questions. Everything was completed as expected.

This morning I had a service call with Roth to fix my temperamental a/c unit. I called Roth first thing this morning and spoke with Brittney. Letting her know my unit stopped working yesterday. She went above and beyond and was able to get me squeezed in the same day. YAY!!! Just a couple hours later Berry and his tech assistant arrived. I was able to inform them on what problem I was having and let them get to work. A little while later they let me know they replaced a board on my unit. Barry informed me that he already contacted his supervisor and was able to replace it with no charge. Again, another YAY!!! Having things break or go wrong in your home is stressful enough. Finding a good company with great employees is a breath of fresh air. Roth is lucky to have these employees Representing them. I will continue to recommend them to others and call them for future jobs. Thank you again.
They had good availability, but their prices are stupidly expensive. They charged me almost $3000 to replace a toilet and sink drain! Angie's list estimates this should have cost $700. Seriously, find someone else.
I used Roth to install an air conditioning system into my home and the service was fantastic, they were able to re-route my hook up to acommodate where I wanted the outdoor unit and the technicians were very friendly and helpful, they even came back to install a new inside thermostat. I would recommend them!

Great service. Very thorough and accommodating. Came on very short notice. Good explanation of work performed.
very unethical company. Needed someone to look at a part on the water heater and when they showed up he wouldn't look at the part. We paid $89 on a guy to come out and quote for over priced parts/service that we specifically said we didn't want!!! (Which was not what was discussed on the phone for the apt!! Waste of money and time!)
Absolutely do not recommend using this company couldn't believe the poor customer service and moral work ethic :/
Oops! I missed the part about the $89 when going through Yelp! It was pretty savvy of the person at their company who took my phone call, listen to my plumbing issue, set up my appointment and take all of my information before mentioning the $89. I was told it would apply to the overall charge if I went with them.
Problem is, they bid themselves so high above everyone else that I will never get the chance to reclaim my $89.
Roth charged us over $100 just to provide a quote. They wanted over $4200 to install a Tesla Wall charger and install it over 50 ft from the panel. Called another certified installer who quoted doing the same work for 1/3 the price. When their installers arrived they realized there was a much easier way to do it and we ended up paying a little over $1000. Would never use Roth!

This is unfortunately an unethical company that likely scams nearly all of its customers.
They don't provide quotes or even ballpark estimates over the phone for any service, no matter how small (just replacing a bathroom fan) because they want to collect $89 for the house visit. Thankfully that's all they got from us, but I still would like that money back since the visit was so terrible.
Once the electrician got here (Ken W.), he asked how much I knew about bathroom fans and wiring, and when I told him not much, proceeded to lie about the many code violations he would have to fix as part of the replacement process. Within a few minutes he made up three egregious prices seemingly out of thin air. He led us to believe that replacing a literal $15 Nutone fan from Home Depot with a slightly better one would cost around $1,000, the bulk of which was for fixes needed to bring us up to code. A second option was to rebuild the motor in our existing ($15) fan -- that would cost us around $500.
Of course, chatting with other electricians confirmed that the codes he was referring to are only for new construction, not renovations. It's perfectly fine to have a hardwired bathroom fan that doesn't have a timer switch if you're living in an older house or condo.
I essentially had to throw the electrician out of my house as he was rambling incoherently (and unsolicited) about all of his experience with bathroom fans. When we balked at the prices, he offered a third option that was just between us for troubleshooting if I wanted to attempt the install myself and just call him for a little help. That option was around $300.
Ended up getting the work done by a licensed, bonded electrician on Thumbtack for just a few hundred dollars. He not only replaced the fan with a high-end model plus timer switch, but did far more work than was even included in the Roth electrician's $1,000 estimate.
I'll also note that every single electrician I contacted other than Roth (about a half dozen through Yelp's instant quote feature) provided an estimate over the phone or email -- and it was always several hundred dollars lower than the Roth estimate for the same amount of work (or more).

Roth really came to our rescue after the refrigerator jammed up - stayed after hours.
This place gives me a lingering angry feeling for years. Sometimes you are stuck with a choice of companies for HOA purposes. There were two choices Roth and another.
The other place quoted about $160 per hour. Crazy huh! sounds expensive. Roth said they charge per job/item done rather than hourly. That sounds way more reasonable. Does it?
Two guys from Roth came, spent about 20 minutes on the spot, and changed a fuse? (it was $20 on amazon) and charged about $400 for that repair!!!
wow, would have paid half the price to go hourly even at the insane price of $160 per hour.
Nothing better than feeling ripped off. O, questioned them on the charged and they ignored offering an explanation.
DO NOT RECOMMEND-
feel so ripped off I have been angry about it for years

Roth sold me a Lennox furnace and air conditioner mid 2006. The air conditioner had limited use over ensuing years, due, in part to Oregon weather. In June, discovered a leak occurred in a covered coil area to the side of the furnace. They estimated cost to be in excess of $2,000 (after senior discount) and in addition to costs for initial visit. Common sense dictates that the product itself was defective or the installer did something at installation; however there is no recourse, other than just scrapping the unit itself. Roth did nothing to make the situation better (nor did the unseasonably hot summer). By better, I mean any alternative suggestions (a whole new unit doesn't cost that much more), a payment plan, even a sympathetic ear).
In your day to day life you tend to become numb to the norms of our society. Many of the tools from the past that lead to a successful small business have been forgotten. To this point the delivery of customer service in the form of sincere and professional customer communication.
In a recent conversation seeking clarity on many things heating and air. I found Willie to be clear to the point and concise in our conversation. My questions were answered at a level that created an ease and confidence in a world that I only travel as needed.
Impressive on point, presentation in the representation of Roth Heating and Cooling during my interactions with Willie. The logo is simple yet strong, creating brand recognition that even I could remember. (That's how I found Roth on Yelp) Good move on the management team providing their team with a unified look.
A sincere thank you for sticking out as an example in how to garner a potential new customer, with a simple conversation.

Everything this company does is first-class. We have had them out for installation of our new furnace, AC unit and most recently, a zoned heating/cooling setup for our home. They deliver on everything they say they will do. Great customer service on the phone, courteous installers and great follow-though on the sale with Garth. LOVE Roth!
I had a leaking hose bib and called everyone; We were emptying buckets of water daily. Roth (Christy) worked with me to get someone over quickly, Lisa called me a half hour before John arrived. I'm very happy with the easy pleasant service. I will now call Roth should I have any plumbing problems in the future. I use Roth my heating and cooling but didn't realize they did plumbing until a neighbor told me

We've used Roth for 10 years -- they did the original install on our condo building's HVAC units. We use them twice a year -- spring A/C check and fall heat check. Service is always friendly -- BUT it's getting a little over the top. Always trying to upsell nowadays.....this product, that product, your furnace may go out since it's more than 10 years old, blah blah blah. He was here for more than two hours this time for a simple, normal routine A/C check but didn't leave before a long, handwritten list of things we should consider having done. I was getting more and more irritated the longer he was here. My schedule is busy, like everyone's. Please...just come in, do the check well like you always do, and leave. Thanks!
I had a clog in my sinks and toilet. I appreciated the hard work that Stan Schrock did. He explained what was going on to me. He was punctual, courteous and practiced safe protocols during COVID-19. I have no hesitation in using Roth in the future :)

These people will steal you blind overcharging for the cheapest equipment you can imagine. Don't fall for it.
We had a serviceman named Stanley come to our home in Spring 2019 to assess a broken bathtub faucet. He diagnosed a broken cartridge and quoted $700 to replace it, citing it as a high end Grohe cartridge. We were able to find the cartridge on Amazon for $75 and replace it ourselves. I emailed him asking for an explanation for the high quote and he never wrote back to me.

Roth's maintenance plan makes it easy for me to keep my house in working order! Every technician is knowledgeable and very helpful. I love how Roth's calls me to schedule (my maintenance plan) so, I never have to remember when something is due for maintenance.
I called them in early December 2021 for a couple of simple tasks (install outdoor fixture, install timer switch) and one moderately complex (diagnose/fix circuit breaker short). The tech arrived on time, was polite, and explained the work clearly. He's the reason for the second star. The price he quoted for all three tasks was $950. Ack. I told him to fix the circuit breaker only, which reduced the price to $500. The whole job took him about an hour. The other tasks probably would have taken about 30 min to do, which means I would have paid $100 per minute of work. I guess they don't have to care and get enough business that they can fleece their customers as much as they want. I won't hire them again.

I do not recommend Roth Heating and Cooling.
Two days after using a Precision Tune-Up 'Living Social' from Roth Heating and Cooling my furnace died. I called them and they sent a tech out (2 hours later than expected) who told me the blower motor was not running and it needed to be replace...mighty big coincidence if you ask me as we have NEVER had a problem with this furnace prior to the Precision Tune-Up. So I pay $44 (which is 'worth' $90 and they only get around $20) for the tune-up and have a $421 bill!
By now it was after 5p (I had a meeting to get to) and one of the coldest days of the year, so I authorized the repair after talking at length with the tech that I do not expect to pay for the repair in-full and to have management contact me to discuss.
I never heard anything from Roth for 3 months when I get a Past Due invoice. So I called them to discuss the bill and the guy who I talked with (Brandon I think, who was very rude and suggested himself that it was intentional that Roth caused the motor issue while I was saying I assumed it was a mistake and not malicious...) said he would email the owner and accounting and get back to me...never heard back from him, but did get a call from Tim to collect on the invoice a couple weeks later.
Nice enough guy but, of course, he had no idea what was going on or that I had been previously told that someone would call me back. So I spent more time explaining the situation to Tim, with him assuring me (AGAIN) that they didn't do anything wrong, but he'd get the labor charged waived, but he had to get clearance (which would have taken $105 off and would not have made me happy, but content, sort of). They did not even waive the labor charge but offered a measly $25 off.
I will not use or recommend Roth Heating and Cooling.

Today Service Tech Joel J. came out to do my annual furnace check up. He was on time and very thorough. He found a problem and replaced the part and explained everything was covered on my Silver Club plan. Joel has been the best technician so far that has come out to work on my Furnace / AC units. 5 star service. Great Job Joel..... Excellent Customer Service..............
Very professional and prompt to answering our call when the water heater and HVAC went out all at the same time. They office was quick to respond to provide estimated time of arrival and repair costs. Highly recommend using Roth.

Roth's response time is incredible! I had an issue with my AC on the first hot days, and I called in to them. They had someone out THAT DAY! I couldn't ask for better service! The technician was on time, professional, and was able to identify the issue very quickly. He didn't have the part in his van, so he went to his supplier, got what he needed, came back and had my house cooling within 2 hours! My bill was just under $1k, but I'd happily pay extra for services like that! I plan on telling EVERYONE I know, how much Roth took care of my family! 5 star company
We wanted an estimate to install an outlet in the bathroom for a bidet. We went through Angi and Roth was the first to provide an estimate. I was surprised to have to pay over $100 for an estimate that I could get back if I chose them to do the work. The estimator took no measurements was there less than minutes, and sent over a bid for over $1900! Two other companies came back with bids in the $400 range. I felt uncomfortable paying for the estimate, but was assured that was industry standard. It turns out it wasn't. I feel a little taken advantage of. The $1500 discrepancy seems outrageous. The inundation of emails from them offering various services now that they had my contact information was annoying. I can't speak to the their work because I didn't hire them. They feel predatory.

An update to my review....
After speaking with manger in the office for Roth Heating, we discussed my issues and how I felt I had been steered wrong regarding their pricing compared to what would be considered comparative pricing, especially asking very specifically if that was what I would expect to pay from a competitor.
While we did not come to an agreement as to how specifically answering questions with wrong answers was or was not predatory, we were able to agree on a fair price for the job they did in my home. Coincidently, it was also the price of the high end estimate I had found in my area for this job.
I remain satisfied with the work itself, and my issue has been resolved. They DO do good work..just at a higher price than other companies. I still don't understand why the cost of living in my area should have any bearing on the cost of a standard ac repair.
He assured me the tech did not tell me that, yet AFTER assuring me how he was the most honest tech with 37 years at the company he still would not ask him directly if he told me that or not. My security cameras picked up the conversation. Either the tech would confirm he did in fact tell me this, or he is not as honest as they think.
I appreciated his willingness to make me feel like I did not pay a higher price than normal, even if he did not agree.
I would recommend them to anyone wanting good, reliable service...but would also suggest you research and know what you would expect to pay in your area from other companies BEFORE agreeing to the estimate.
I also raised my star rating from 1 to 3. This is because 1. The job was done, done quickly, and done right.
And 2. Because I do appreciate his willingness to work with me to a resolution when I felt I was misled into an over charge. That goes a LONG way with me.
Again, I would actually recommend them, but would caution you to do your research on cost first..know what the average cost of the job should be. There is a huge difference between a 1000.00 job, and a 2000.00 flat rate for the same job.
Oct 18. Regular maintenance visit was efficient and thorough, as always. The technician was courteous, professional and paid particular care to avoid tracking any debris or dirt into the house. He wore boot protectors whenever in the house.
Oct 18. Installation of Ecobee3 thermostat with remote sensor. This installation required changes to the wiring connections in order to take advantage of the Ecobee3 'smart' features. The technician took time to explain the Ecobee3 functions and the new connections. The thermostat was tested thoroughly after installation.
Overall, we are very pleased at the professional services from Ponderosa and particularly with the quality of their staff . We highly recommend their services.

Mr.Joel Langbehn was the Roth technician that provided our biannual system checkup. He did a complete inspection of our furnace and AC. Finding no issues he went over the results with us and offered a few suggestions that will improve our comfort. We expect puncuality, professionalism, coutesy and clarity per our previous experiences with Roth. Mr. Langbehn met and exceeded the valuable Roth service standards. Thank you.

Used in a real estate transaction. Would have need a 4-5 but on our repair deadline day Roth's plumber said they couldn't do the job, switch off his phone and went home sick. We were able to get an extension from the buyers and get another plumber to do the repair but this could have messed up the deal and caused my sellers a lot of extra stress and had to pay another couple of plumbers to come out and give bids.

We had a problem with our heat pump, called Roth's as we have used them before. We told we could schedule one and a half weeks out! Did so and, today when they were to arrive, I finally called by 1 p.m. to see if they were coming out. It appears they called the wrong home number (now, again, we are REPEAT customers so the number should be in their records!!) and left a message they would not be out. No replacement for later today; we could just reschedule.
We will never use them again. We have sweltered through two days of no a/c and waited too long to have this happen. Glad they are rich enough to treat customers this way!

I just had
Roth install both a new A/C unit as well as a new furnace. I had many questions and many comparisons, all handled extremely professionally and completely by Jason. The installation crew was very personally and property-wise respectful at all times, which was a relief, if you've had messy, careless workmen in your home at any time in the past!! They showed up on time and finished the job when they said they would. No hitches, the new system works fine, and I am a happy camper!!!

Had no heat. Called Roth and they were outstanding the cracks of dawn, the next day, Saturday!
20+ yr system they got up and running right away.
Thanks Roth!
Don't bother asking for a quote for a specific day. They do not seem to listen. I asked for a quote for them to come out today. They responded asking for a number to call me at. Once they called me they then said they were a week out. I can understand being booked. I do not understand needing my phone number to tell me something you could have responded too through email or yelp messaging. That just wastes your time and mine.
I would suggest changing the way you offer quotes if someone is asking for a specific day.
Sam Livesay and Dustin Larsen did a stellar job of installing our new high efficiency heat pump/ac and air handler. They were very professional and thorough and they also did an excellent job of explaining the set-up to us. I would highly recommend these install technicians!
A friend of mine who is a single mom had one dimmer switch installed and a motion activated security light on the side of her garage. $1000 was the bill.
Really? No new wiring was involved, the work took about 45 minutes and Roth did provide the dimmer and the light. Seems to me that is taking advantage of a single woman...

I can't say anything bad about the way they run business, they are nice and professional, but their price quote was $2050 and I got a free estimate elsewhere instead of their $80 estimate charge and got the same work quoted at $500. It was the second place I looked for electrical work.

Be warned these guys are HUGELY expensive..$600(flat rate any and all) to seat a toilet....so they aren't really charging by the job..In our case very easy..you end up paying for the messy difficult jobs. We are going to go ahead and put all the sink and toilet valves on ourselves...and seat the toilet too. This company is too rich for our tight pockets!! Some people have kicked them out of their homes after getting the quote for jobs.
And yes $89 for initial inspection and bid. We thought they were just going to come do the work..We just have a lot on our plates right now so wanted a plumber to come do the work..more on our plate but at least we know how to do this stuff..thank god!!
Cory N.

Charged me $89 for a quote and then quoted me such an unrealistic exorbitant price that I truly thought I was going to have to get a home equity loan. The quote was for $8100 and that is $3000 more than the next highest bid. Stay FAR away from these snakes. Oh yeah, enjoy the $89 you dicks.
We had a terrible experience with Roth. We bought a home that had a heating system installed by Roth in 2011. As part of the house sale inspection and negotiations, we asked that the system be serviced and cleaned which Roth did in October. They cleaned and checked everything and said the system was in good working order. Two weeks later after we move in, we hear a constant ticking sound from the furnace which we are told is normal shortly after the filter is cleaned and would go away. Except it didn't and when they came out to check it, they told me that the special ionizing filters that cost $1,900 would need to be replaced. They should have known that during the maintenance call they performed 2 weeks prior and should have made that recommendation then.
Even worse, I smelled a gas leak which was found to be coming from the water heater which was part of the complete heat system that heated the furnace. The gas company shut off our heat and hot water. Roth came back out and told me it was likely a broken gasket in the water heater. The water heater was inspected during the maintenance call 2 weeks prior and a broken gasket or seal was not observed or recorded. Instead they wrote that the water heater was in good working order. They refused to pay for any repairs, stating that the broken gasket wasn't caused by their service work 2 weeks prior. True, but why did their technician fail to notice and investigate a gas leak? How could he have signed off that the system was in good working order when in fact it was putting our family at risk of carbon monoxide poisining?
The receptionist who answered one of my calls even said that the water heater would likely need to be replaced since it was old, even though it is only 8 years old. What kind of business installs a heat system that needs to be replaced in less than 10 years? And why did their technician who did the maintenace service not record that it needs replacement?
They appear to be unqualified, dishonest, and don't stand behind their products or services. I can tell you that when we do have to replace this furnace and water heater, I will NOT be using Roth.
I scheduled a precision tune-up before winter hits and Roth schedule a service right away. They called day of to let me know when to expect the technician and it all ran very smoothly.
The technician David Bajorin was prompt and professional. David showed respect to the home and wore a mask the entire time, along with booties before entering the house.
I was impressed with the services Roth offers, not just heating and cooling but plumbing and electrical.
This company seems to be honest and fair.
Their customer service from the first phone call to the end of the service was spot on friendly and professional.
I will call again and highly recommend.
Last of a dying bread, a service company with Excellent Service Minded People. Have known this company for years and they still maintain the highest Service Quality Around. Quick, thorough, cleanup excellent, and are quick with the answers to your concern. Very helpful. Couldn't ask for anything better in getting a new heat pump installed.
I just had a very horrible experience with service technician Vance Taylor. He came in to the Verizon store I work at to fix the AC that had stopped working a few days ago. After spending some time looking, he came back into the store to lecture my associate and I. He explained that it was our fault it wasn't working correctly because the thermostat should never turned below 70°.Although that may be true, we had no knowledge of that fact. He argued that he had told me that before even though I have never met him. Throughout the entire time he was in the store-he was completely condescending. When I asked him to stop being condescending he ignored me and said nothing. Thanks for fixing our air, but your customer service needs vast improvement. I don't think it's ever acceptable to berate someone for not knowing something- even if it annoys you. The experience was very unprofessional.
I'm surprised at the negative reviews. My experience with Roth was terrific. Our old furnace died on us. The Roth salesman came out and quoted us what I felt to be a fair price. One of their repairmen also came out to see if he could fix the problem in the meantime. He couldn't because our furnace mfgr went out of business 20 years ago and parts were unavailable. It did take a few days to install a new one because they had to order a new furnace from Iowa. In the meantime they sent out an engineer to determine what pieces would have to be fabricated. During that time they also removed the existing furnace so that the new one could be installed quickly to get us heat. Within a day of the new furnace arriving at their shop, they were out and put in the new one. All the time Angela was keeping me informed of the progress. Bottom line: I would use them again in a heartbeat.
We received a bid for electrical work at a remodel job. Roth's bid came in at 65% higher than all others so our choice was obvious. We also received a bid for some minor electrical work at our current home which also came in much higher than everyone else. Both times we were charged the $89 estimation fee which I think is ridiculous. No other company charges for a quote. They make you give them a credit card that they keep on file before they'll send a tech out.
Justin R. gave us a bid for our minor electrical work that came in at $1650. I said I needed to discuss it with my spouse before deciding and in fact, a couple days later I sent an email stating we were going with another company that came in much less. Soon after that I received an email invoice stating Justin had credited our card with $825.00. When I called their office, Valerie said Justin took it upon himself to assume we were going to agree to the work from Roth and CHARGED it to our credit card! NEVER did I agree to the work and NEVER did I give permission for Justin to fraudulently charge to our card!
I called to complain about this, sent many emails to Justin and his supervisor and have directed Roth to destroy my card information.
In my opinion, not only is this company overcharging by ridiculous amounts but to take someone's credit card and charge any amount without the customer's permission is illegal, unethical and should be grounds for termination.
DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. There are hundreds of qualified, ethical companies out there.
Had some bumps along the way but resolved the issue.
Stay away if you have an emergency, they'll put you through the ringer with labor. $450 for 3.5 hours of work to replace a switch on a 4 year old unit. Insane.
These guys are professional. Had a furnace and AC replaced. Arrived on time and was done in the estimated time with no BS and no mess. A+ service in my book.
Had Roth out to do our annual furnace tuneup. The company called when the technicians were on their way, and they showed up promptly afterward. John Harrison and Matthew were professional and courteous. They performed the cleaning and replaced our filter. John let me know about a potential problem, with a recommendation on how to fix it. No pressure at all, just the facts and the price up front.
I also decided to purchase a Nest thermostat since they were having a special. John installed it quickly and walked me through the setup process.
Here's the thing that earned 5 stars for me. We have a new baby, and we had a bunch of cardboard packing boxes in our garage that we haven't had time to cut up and put in the bin for recycling. John and Matthew said they had room in their van to haul most of the boxes back to Roth to be recycled, and with my permission they filled the back of their van with old boxes and cleaned out our garage.
I have never experienced customer service people going so far above and beyond my expectation. John and Matthew, you guys earned a customer for life today.
I've had a super experience working with Roth. Many thanks to Rick H for his fast friendly servicing of my mini-split ductless heat pump/air conditioner...getting the job done in an efficient and timely manner before the dreaded heat of the summer. Rick H. is obviously a valued member of the Roth team...a true service professional! I'd suggest that you ask for him by name!
Update in response to Roth - I never received any calls until today. There were no calls made on any other days. My cell provider records also confirm no calls were made until today, 18 days later. To boot - I returned their call this morning and asked to have all of my information completely removed from their system - which clearly also hasn't happened since they are claiming to have fabricated records of contact. I find this very disconcerting and would be wary of providing any personal information.
I called Roth after the record breaking heat wave due to a leaking ductless unit in our living room. While I expected them to be busy, they couldn't even put me on the schedule at all. I was instead put on a list to be called back to schedule, but not without a credit card on file! I called on 7/10 and they only called me back this morning, 7/29. 18 days later to offer to schedule. I completely understand everyone in the HVAC industry was receiving an unprecedented amount of calls, but 18 days for a call back just to schedule and without first trying to hold your money hostage is unacceptable and unprofessional. I had another local company provide the ability to schedule online easily, quickly, AND without requiring a credit card to make the appointment.
I was given a window of 10:00AM-12:00PM for a service call. After not arriving during this window I called to to find out they were running late. A simple phone call would have been nice. The tech arrived closer to 3:00PM. Blew my afternoon as I had to wait around in this part of town. The service was related to a real estate sale. Upon receiving an invoice for over $1,300 I noticed poorly written notes by the tech about his visit. In my opinion It was worded unprofessionally and contained subjective language that had the potential to cause unnecessary alarm to the new buyer. Getting an invoice with matter of fact information minus the unnecessary subjective wording seemed to be too much for Roth to accommodate. They obviously have enough business right now they don't care about one unhappy customer. I had my personal furnace installed by them and have recommended them to clients. After this experience they have lost my business and any referrals moving forward.
This is the second time we have used Roth for a home repair. They were the only company that was able to properly repair our air conditioner system. It now works perfectly, So we called on them again. John Haugan of Roth Heating Cooling Plumbing and Electrical is an excellent reflection of a very professional company. We noticed a sudden leak in our water heater in the morning and had it fixed by the afternoon. The management is so prompt and thorough. They call before their service men are due and give you confirmation of their arrival time. John was so understanding and helpful. Costs were explained and guidance given. Cleanup was perfect and we are now very pleased to rely on this company for all our future home needs.

They told me my heat pump and furnace was shot and I needed to replace it all, after looking at it after them, the heat pump capacitor was bad, replaced it for $18 bucks and it's been working fine for the last 6 months. Much better than the replacement cost of $12000.
They are crooks
My heat quit working Friday night. I called Roths..I was told that there was a 89 diagnostic fee..anything that needed repair was additional at a flat rate.
Guys came out yesterday..told me the capacitor needed replacing and that it would be an additional 369.
I said that I couldn't afford that..I was offered 20 percent off.
I said no..after they left I unplugged the part and found it on Amazon for 8.25 (yes that's 8 dollars..)
I called around was able to buy one for 40..,put it on myself..took a couple of minutes.
I understand a biz needs to make a profit, but I feel this is taking advantage of unsuspeting people..;(

I was originally going to go with a guy on Craigslist who tried to convince me that his $99 fee with no trip charge was going to be the cheapest price I'd get from anyone, to find out why my fan wasn't coming on. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Roth who was recommended by a friend, only charged $75 for their service fee and a $3 trip charge which I thought was very reasonable. The serviceman Kaylen Gibb that came, was very pleasant and polite even when he had to inform me that it was just a switch that had been turned off -OUCH- that kept the fan from working. This was totally my fault. To make it feel like I had received my moneys worth, he asked if I would like him to figure out why my air conditioner wasn't working though I don't ever use it, and certainly won't be any time in the near future, and he discovered that there were some problems with the way it was wired inside the furnace. I will definitely call them if I have problems again and tell others about them.
Our 13 year old furnace/AC unit was water damaged by a water tank connection failure. The insurance company agreed to cover the cost of replacing damaged parts of the 80% efficient furnace installed when the house was built. After a Roth representative completed a very thorough inspection of our home, he recommended upgrading with a high efficiency furnace and AC unit as well as installation of a new zone (with use of dampers) to better distribute heat/cold throughout our 3-level home.
We decided to spend the additional money to upgrade the system and are extremely pleased witht he results. The installers did a terrific job, were friendly, helpful and efficient. The price quote was for a brand that had an AC coil that turned out to be too large to fit the space available. Roth agreed to a Lennox product at no additional charge to us. Roth ate the difference since the Lennox system was more expensive than the brand originally quoted.
We moved into a new (to us) home and within a few months the thermostat was indicating an error message. ROTH was the name on the system so we decided to start with them. The technician they sent (Brett) was fantastic. He explained every step of the system check process and was clear about what parts needed to be replaced immediately & what could wait. Spending money on HVAC is never fun but we were very pleased with the service received from ROTH.

We are on a maintenance plan with Roth. They always remind us when we are due for service, are always on time and never try to over sell us on extra services. Brad is thorough, complete and keeps us informed on what he is doing. I have great trust in this company and in Brad and recommend them highly

It was freezing, the heater wasn't working, and although not promised, Roth was able to come out same day - YAY!! Bummer was, however, that on day 2 our tech was sick, and we never got a call from the office letting us know it would be another day 'till we got heat. Boo. Husband was furious, but the office was completely apologetic and I know that they had to have been swamped as it was super cold outside and that's when heaters break. Day three, we had the tech at our door at 8 am, and a few hours later, heat! I would totally use them again.

I didn't have electricity in part of my house, The electrician flipped the fuse box a couple of times and that fixed it.
THE CHARGE? $250!!! I feel stupid but also ripped off!
Roth has done lots of good work for us over the years. Recently, called to have them come out for an estimate on an electrical installation and was told that it would cost $75. That's $75 just for the bid - none of which would be applied toward the work itself. Apparently, Roth now wants you to pay for the privilege of giving them work. Thank goodness they've got plenty of competition.
Their workers seem to be be on commission or stand to gain by upselling and if they feel you're in a bind then they will extract every bit

I was referred to Roth by NW Natural as a good choice for converting my home from oil to gas heat. I was told Roth would call me and they did not. I then called Roth and had my information taken down and was told I would receive a call, which did not happen. I then called Roth again and was told once again that I would receive a call. It has been over a week since the second call to Roth and I have not heard back.
I would not recommend Roth, there are many other companies to choose from and I strongly suggest you skip the call to Roth. This is not a good company to work with!
The poor customer service on the back end was a disappointment. Reception was wonderful, Rita was such a pleasure to speak with and book my appointment though. Therefore I was expecting the rest of my experience to be the same.
I was told our appointment would be in the morning so my husband put his entire morning/work day on hold waiting for a service tech to stop by. We received a call around 11:15 saying the tech was running late but will be there shortly. By 1p still no tech so I called and spoke with a gentleman who really didn't care, all he could do is offer was an insincere sorry. We were referred to Roth by my Mother in Law and parents, plus we were looking to use Roth for our rentals. Anyway, they lost my personal business, rental business and my entire families business. When my husband called to explain why we are cancelling the gentleman I spoke with didn't want to speak with him and the receptionist didn't care to hear the professional feedback and gladly cancelled our appointment.. My husband and I are HUGE customer service advocates since we run our business that way and expect the same.
Called Roth to diagnose the cause of our A/C suddenly going out. The woman on the phone was very professional and helpful, and made exceptionally clear that there would be a $94 diagnostic fee. Not sure why so many reviews complain about that fee, when it should have been abundantly clear that an HVAC diagnostic is not a free quote.
Anyway, two techs came out and were incredibly professional and friendly. They immediately discovered a bad capacitor, but they did not stop there. They made sure to test our entire system and inspect many items that were unrelated to the capacitor whatsoever. They even warned us about a couple aging parts on our furnace, not even related to the A/C. Great experience there!
The issue that I had was that they quoted us $580 to replace a capacitor. Do not fall for this! With zero knowledge of electrical systems you can safely turn off your breaker and replace this capacitor with a replacement from a hardware store for under $20. Absurd.
We recommend this company, they gave us hot water back, the same day! No cold showers for us. The service was exemplary.
Enrique was on time and courteous as always.
Roth's has been taking care of our family and their services are excellent.

Prices for an electrical job and a plumbing job each were double what the community was. I was able to get a water heater for 1/2 of what they quoted from George Morlan and an electrical job for $2500 from Frahler instead of the $5200 quoted from Roth. They claim it is because they have a larger customer service dept with people answering the phone instead of machines but the answering service either doesn't pass on the information or the company just doesn't call back in a timely manner. They also have a Gold plan that is supposed to get you to the front of the line and save some money but the prices are so high, the savings are pointless. I would definitely look somewhere else for your heating plumbing and electrical needs.
Dalton Noon came to my home was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I appreciate Roth so much and all of their employees. I will never leave this company because I know that they have a win-win situation with their customers. Thank you Dalton for checking things out and making sure my system is up and running for the summer. Seriously this is a five star company!
We have been using Roth for about 8 or 9 years to service & maintain our gas furnace. This furnace was installed in 1994 & Roth has been helping us baby it along until we could afford a new unit. This was the year. Roth's bid was slightly higher than the others (~$200) so we decided to go with them because of the quality service we have always received from them. The install went smoothly without a hitch. They worked with our schedule, completed on budget, finished early. They kept me informed of everything they were doing, discussing it with me & making sure I approved before they proceeded. I would recommend Roth to my friends.

Jackie and Byrce did a great job in a timely manor.
If I could give less than one star, I would. My husband used them for plumbing and electrical work awhile back and thought he would use them again to service our furnace and A/C. I had reservations because the plumbing and electrical work was expensive but they did a good job.
Needless to say, they came to do our annual service of our furnace and A/C and low and behold, tell us we have modules going out on both. Interesting since our units are both 5 years old. The serviceman quoted us almost $500 for the part on our A/C and $800 for the part on our furnace, this didn't include labor. I thought it was odd and that our A/C should at least still be under warranty, which it was but he never bothered to check or mention. I had to call the person who installed my A/C to confirm it is still under warranty and then had to tell the Roth's serviceman how to warranty our the module.
The serviceman went about his maintain with the units and we were going to pay him for the labor until he said it was going to be $300 for the A/C alone. I questioned why so high and he said it was for his expertise and because he had to go back to get the part, after he told us he had the part in his van. (They did the same thing to us when they did our plumbing and electric jobs). At this point we told him to please just finish the service and not do any repairs.
Flash forward to today where we had the company who did our install of our A/C out to check everything. Guess what? Zero problem with our furnace and the module on the A/C was testing a bit low and probably didn't need to be replaced but he did it free of charge since he was already here. Imagine that. Someone didn't want to gouge us for $1,600.
I'll bet almost anything that Roth will respond that they gave us options to ensure we were informed or they have no record of me being a customer which is how they seem to respond to most bad reviews. My husband is the customer, they don't have my name, so that should resolve that problem. I would 100% believe the bad reviews and NOT use this company. How anyone could try to take advantage of someone they consider a customer in this current landscape is beyond me. They are unethical, overpriced and not worth the time. Call a small business owner, ask friends and family for recommendations but do NOT use this company if you can avoid it.

Roth recently completed installation of a new gas furnace and air conditioning unit for me. The account manager, Garth Hepler, presented various options appropriate for my home, explained the differences, and answered my questions in a manner easily understood. The pricing was competitive (not the least or most expensive) and they were able to schedule the project the same week I selected their offer. Work was completed in a day by a team of three men, Caleb, Jacob, and Brock. The team was great! They were knowledgeable, skilled, efficient, and worked well together. They were responsive to my questions, friendly, and left the work areas clean. I highly recommend this firm for your heating and cooling needs.

Watch out if you choose to use Roth especially if you sign up for one of their maintenance plans. After the one year anniversary of the scheduled equipment checks. I made it very clear to the technician that our home was for sale I did not need to renew. I thought we were good at that, He did not say I needed to call in to cancel. 4months later after a hectic move and life I see a charge on my credit card. My bad for not noticing sooner but come on! Apparently it works just like gym memberships and that is where they make their money. I found a much better service for my new home. Thank goodness.
Had active water leak above shower, ceiling cut open and drying out. I have CPVC pipe and discussed with the technician who came, repair vs full repipe. I was told if repaired that day I would have to pay for the repair, but he could get me a quote from his repipe person that same afternoon or next day at latest in order to make a quick decision. I did not receive the bid so I emailed the Tech on Day 3 asking about it (again I have an active leak) and did not get a reply, so the next day called the office. The service rep on phone was lovely, apologized and advised she would look into. A few hours later, I received an email with no subject, no explanation or overview at first I thought it was spam - just a pdf of the bid... and I was charged $90 just for that.... Not a fan
The team at Roth had a great approach from start to finish -- the estimator was thorough and did a good job of briefing the installation team. The installation was as efficient and minimally invasive as possible (better than I'd expected) and the cleanup was as they promised it would be.

The two technicians arrived on time. They listened to me and then fixed the problem. They spent an hour ensuring that both HVAC units were cycling correctly. They wore booties when in the house. Wife appreciated that! The fee was super reasonable. Highly recommended.
At least for plumbing emergencies, I would not recommend these guys. Roth's cost me several days, lots of unnecessary calls, and wanted thousands of dollars to diagnose what another company fixed for a few hundred bucks within two hours of my call.

Terrific experiences in the past three years with installation of a new furnace, then a new water heater. But the REALLY fabulous day was this past week when two vans and four guys arrived at 7:30am as promised to install AC! All work was done quickly - all of my questions were answered - everything went smoothly. The team left all areas completely cleaned up and made sure that I had all the information I needed before they left. SUPERB!!
I have been a long time customer and as always there staff was knowledgeable and friendly. This time Nick and Jackie did the semi-annual maintenance and explauded everything they had done and answered my questions thoroughly.

I would give you 0 stars if I could. I schedule in advance to have you do your free 1 year service and I want to GIVE YOU BUSINESS by putting a zoning system in. I take a half day off work, sit around waiting all morning for your tech to show up as I was told to do when I scheduled the appt. Instead of just showing up you call and give me less than 10 minutes to respond, I was outside waiting for you, and you re-route your tech. HORRIBLE. I will put as much effort as possible into the rest of my day off to make sure other people don't buy anything from you, EVER!
Not sure how I was redirected to Roth as I called a different electrician! But since they picked up the phone I made an appointment. There is a $89 diagnostic fee which is not applied to the job.
Chris arrived on time. Spent 1 1/2 hours diagnosing and ,after my kitchen was a mess quoted me $375 to fix. Took hime 5 minutes after i said ok. He is pleasant enough and he fixed it, but I still wonder How I was redirected to this company and find $375 high for a job that took less than 2 hours and neglibible material cost
Not impressed. We scheduled last week to have someone come out and give us a quote for a tankless water heater in the house we just moved into and they were supposed to be here at 2pm today and 2.5 hours later we called to see if they were coming out and they didn't even have us on the schedule. Husband got out of work early to come to their appointment and the person on the phone was not helpful. Didn't know why we weren't on schedule. They are too busy to make it in next couple of days. I was sitting next to my husband when he made appointment gave our address and set the time. For all the hype we were given on this business this is not how you do business. Going to find another business because there are others that will do this work. Incredible in this day and age with competition high to treat potential client's this way.

Best customer service I have received in a long time. We moved into a house with 16 year old equipment and it failed day 1. We had Matt out and he fixed the problem, however a few days later it was not working again. I called Matt as he gave me his cell number on a Friday at 4:30 pm and left a message. He called me back right away and helped me fix the problem. It was caused by my contractor changing someone nothing Roth had done. But Matt took the time to walk me through a few things and figured it out. Thanks to Matt we had heating that weekend. I would recommend Roth to anyone with a complicated system.

Avoid this company at all cost. Dishonesty and predatory practices are woven into their culture! extremely disappointed with the service provided by Roth HVAC Company. Had them out last year due to what we believe was a needed system coolant recharge. We were told then that the system was fine and didn't need to be charged. But it was only blowing about 65 degree air and he said that fine. But I wasn't there as he was dealing with my wife. Charged us $105 and left without any service to us. And we still couldn't cool the house below 68-69 degrees.... Fast forward one year to last Saturday...
Their technician, Rick, is incompetent at his job. It took him an unreasonable amount of time to diagnose a possible leak and cracked piece of plastic on a cover. While one of their competitors found all the problems and had a solution in under 20 minutes. To make matters worse, Rick said that a part I needed is not manufactured anymore but he could get one at a cost and would take a few hours for him to replace making it a $1900 repair on top of UV leak detection! Yet the competent honest competitor fixed the leak recharged our system and will be replacing the readily available $67 part on Tuesday all for less than $500.
Roth HVAC tech Rick insisted that our entire system needed to be replaced, and their quote of nearly $24,000 was significantly higher than every other quote we received. Nearly double! But There was no need to replace our entire system, and we feel that we were taken advantage of and given a predatory pricing.
To add insult to injury, Roth HVAC Company wanted to charged us $1200 for UV dye leak detection, which would have allowed them to find the leak and repair the unit. This is a service that they charged us less than $200 for two years ago on my rental unit about ten miles away. This drastic price increase is unacceptable and leads us to question the integrity and honesty of this technician and the company as he said he doesn't make prices up from thin air.
I am writing a letter to Roth HVAC Company and my credit card company to request a chargeback due to the incompetence of the technician dispatched, misdiagnosis, failure to service, and predatory pricing because you are too incompetent to fix something! Instead you want to try and make big bucks and get someone to replace something that they don't need too and ultimately can be fixed for about $500!
Overall, I cannot & will not ever recommend Roth HVAC Company to anyone. Their technician, Rick, sucks at his job, and their pricing is extremely predatory and completely unjustified.
Avoid these guys like the plague. In my 20 years of home renovation they are the most unethical and underhanded company I have dealt with. Their flat rate pricing is a complete rip-off. I had a simple plumbing repair which they ended up messing up. I now have a hole in my shower wall and a mismatched spout. And I was charged $1065 for a two hour plumbing job that left a complete mess. When I paid only half by check due to my dissatisfaction with the job, they charged my credit card, which they took before they even arrived. Once you give them your credit card number you are done for, you have no recourse for poor service or exorbitant pricing. Words cannot express how ripped off by this company I feel. And it is not just me. Take a look at some of the other negative reviews here and they pretty much agree with me. The complete lack of business ethic and zero concern for customer satisfaction is appalling.
Joe from Roth came out to service our mini-split and hrv (we hadn't had them looked at since moving in 5 years ago.) He did an excellent job! He was efficient and friendly and answered all of our questions. The heating is already noticeably more efficient. Would highly recommend!
Nope. Tried calling Costco and Roth was the vendor who called. Worked with #### over the phone and was quoted 6300.00 more or less for the install of our selected unit. Total. Of the 5 different bids this was the highest with a low of 15,000 and a high of 18,000. Our friends went through Costco for the exact same model and ducting total cost was 6800.00. Different company. They are price gougers and be aware or predatory sales tactics. Will recommend everyone steers clear of this company. Do not recommend.

Can't give them a single star.
Wife's sister had a plumbing problem, bid was $3500, fixed it myself in 2 hours for $40 and, it wasn't really a problem that needed fixed.
Wife's folks got a furnace repair bid of $8000, another company fixed it for $263. Had Roth done the exact same repair, their price was nearly $800.
These folks seem to look for single ladies & the elderly to frighten & fleece.
They made my Never Use list.
Couldn't have been happier with on time on budget job complete by the Roth crew! Great product they installed and from what I can see, they look to have done everything without cutting corners on their craft.
They also left my house cleaner than when they arrived.
Had Roth come out to give us a bid on a simple plumbing install. We are replacing a bath tub. Had the old tub out and all the parts bought for the install except for a few inexpensive PVC connection pieces for the drain line. The Roth plumber said the work would take approximately 2 hours to complete. Their bid was $3,500 or over $1,700/hour. He said he was giving us a discount from their normal $5,200 for that job. Apparently their standard labor rate is about $2,500/hour. I promptly threw him off the property.

We went with Roth Heating & Cooling through Costco. Garth Hepler was extremely helpful in identifying options for our home layout and the financial benefits of installing the mini-split heating/cooling system. We had him price out several scenarios and he was always eager and pleased to do SO much legwork for us. We ultimately chose to go with Lennox, for which Costco offers a 10% rebate on a Costco gift card. Garth was able to schedule installation within a week of completing the final paperwork. Mike G. and Brody were our installation technicians, both were polite and hard-working. After two days of installation work, we did experienced a problem with some water leaking from one of the units. Lisa was able to schedule a follow up with Sam the next day (today). Sam was also kind, hard-working, and understanding about the problem and quickly fixed it. He was knowledgeable about the products and provided some tips on how to get the most out of our Lennox system. Overall, our experience with everyone from Roth was solid and our house has a cool, even temperature throughout. We are also excited about the rebates we will receive from the State of Oregon and saving $200 a month in heating costs this winter. We absolutely would recommend Roth Heating & Cooling, as well as Costco because of the incentives they offer.

If I could give a negative star I would. Had some new kitchen countertops put in so I called to have a plumber come out to disconnect my water and dishwasher. The kid came out turned off the water but did not disconnect my dishwasher, garbage disposal. Nothing.. so the next day when the people came to do the kitchen demo, I was told nothing was disconnected.!! I got charged for that visit. So had to call again and have them come out that day and do the job they should have done the first time they came. I was charged for another visit. Do not use this place. They do screw the customer. I should have looked at the reviews before using this awful money sucking business.
Over the past 15 years Roth has serviced my home's systems, including a huge duct replacement job in the crawlspace, a new furnace and air conditioner, additional zone & thermostat replacement, and a water heater. They serviced my gas fireplace insert and even showed me how to maintain it myself to save that extra dough. Over the past 15 years, their communication has gotten much better (must less time wasted waiting for service people). I also appreciate that they might suggest an upgrade or additional service plan but respect my No, thank you, and do not engage in aggressive sales tactics. Their service people and office people are friendly and patient. Their service is prompt. Now I am moving out of state and have to find a new Roth, and it saddens me.
Took 16 days to restore heat after quoting a 2 day turnaround. Did not return calls about reason for delay, did not respond to emails. Three calls which actually got through to a human got a we'll check and call back followed by silence until I called again after a few days each time!!
But man oh man could they work on the upselling. They were pitching service contracts before they even got near the HVAC unit, and then kept pitching non-critical repairs designed to double the close to $1000 cost of a new motherboard.
We had Roth come to our home this past winter because our heat quit working. Prior to Roth coming to our home we had a company that we had been using for the past 5 years come and tell us we needed a brand new unit approx..$7000. So, we decided to get a 2nd opinion. The technician that came out Kaylen was very familiar with our system. The problem was a minor fix changing a filter that had never been changed a cleaning some contacts the unit was up and running in no time. Kaylen has been for the company for 7 years. His work ethic and knowledge was a breath of fresh air. We recently signed up for the maintenance plan Roth provides. Kaylen came out for the A/C check and tune up and will come back in the fall for the heat. Thank you Roth for hiring quality and respectful employees. I would highly recommend Roth Heating and Cooling.

Two stars because they can come anytime in a pinch. They have an expensive service call fee every time they come, and it's more like a sales call. You'll feel like you're in a car dealership when they give you and outrageous quote and then have to talk to the boss to try and get me a deal.
They installed an AC in my house right before we moved in and it never worked correctly. When I called to get warranty help, they wouldn't help me because the previous owners completed the purchase. I think they prey on the elderly by signing them up for their subscription service, then charging them 40% higher than market rate on all work.
What a racket this company is. I called to ask for an estimate for one of the most standard jobs possible: a 50 gallon hot water heater replacement in an easy access location (the garage).
They want to charge over $100 plus a fuel surcharge to go and give an estimate. Mind you, replacing a hot water heater is one of the most basic and easy jobs to estimate. There is the price of the heater, the standard attachments, permit fee, and labor. Any plumber would know a good baseline.
They must hope that by gouging you for an estimate (when most other companies are free) that you'll feel obligated to overpay them. Either way, whether you get the work done or not, they win and you lose; it's a great scheme if for the owner.
As for me, I will stick with more transparent and honest plumbers.
Edit to respond to business manager: I stand by my comments. Your estimate trip fee is unreasonable and clearly exists in order to pressure the customer into accepting any bid you throw at them. You charge a fuel fee too-lol. I don't even want you to come out. I'd sent a picture but we both know that this isn't about actually determining the nuances of a job (of which there are very few) but rather to push people into overpaying because they have already paid the cost of your doing business, ie giving estimates and paying for your gas.
I encourage customers to shop around and see that this company is actually not standard on their way of doing business.
Also, just to be crystal clear: yes all homes might vary in their plumbing but changing a 50 gallon hot water heater is one of the most basic things that can be done. It's almost as if there is a National plumbing code or standard--oh wait, there is! That way nobody has to reinvent the wheel each time a water heater is replaced..unless of course you're a shady company that is looking to make things as opaque as possible in the name of price gouging.
I mean, maybe if Roth ever calls you back and decides to show up they do good work? I wouldn't know. I have called them twice and messaged them twice over the course of a week. Each time I am told that someone will contact me on that same day. However, I have not received a phone call or email from this company. I'm trying to buy a furnace, don't you guys want to make money? Maybe this company is too big and disorganized as other posts have suggested. Either way, it seems pretty simple to me. If you don't respect your customers, you don't get their business. I'm moving forward with my heating project without Roth and I suggest you do the same.
