This was my mom's house before she died, and we had a list of issues that needed our attention. There was the backed up shower drain in one end of the house and very low hot water pressure at the other end of the house. In between were a kitchen faucet and garbage disposal that needed to be replaced. I started to call the plumber my mom had used for years (NOT Holland), but I things they had told my mom in the past made me leery about using them. I called my cousin, who managed Lubbock apartments most of her career, for a recommendation. She said to call Donnie Holland's Plumbing.
I am so glad I did. They were wonderful. The kitchen faucet and garbage disposal were done in almost no time. They quickly figured out where the shower clog was and cleared it. The low hot water pressure was a tricker problem. They spent a couple of hours diagnosing why the pressure in the back bathroom was so low and how to fix it. It was the end of the day by the time they finished diagnosing the problem. They said they would come back today and run a new hot water line. They were here by ten this morning and were done in about two hours. They ran a new hot water line the full length of the house, from the hot water heater to the far bathroom. They had to remove the things in the bathroom linen closet and under the bathroom sink to access what they needed. When they left I couldn't tell they had been here. Everything was back its place, tidy and clean. They even put insulation on the new pipe before they left. I couldn't be happier! I will call Holland's the next time I need a Lubbock plumber.

We had to call a plumbing service because our water pipe busted Sunday evening, and I was so afraid that someone would overcharge us because it happened outside of business hours. However, Churchwell Plumbing's on call person, Josh, came out and assessed the problem then we were charged a reasonable rate! Josh was very honest, respectful, and knowledgeable. I would totally recommend Churchwell Plumbing as I will definitely call them again if needed!

By far this was the best plumber I've ever done business with! Ricky was very professional and listened to all my concerns when it came to my leaks he assured me that he would do everything he could to repair them before completely reinstalling and this would save me a ton! Thank you so much B& R for sending him out !Couldn't be more satisfied with his expertise and would definitely recommend you guys for the job!

Expensive and somewhat shady. I used these guys multiple times when I first moved to Lubbock. The were expensive, but did decent work so I stuck with them. After a while I noticed every time they came something else would suddenly go wrong. I never had any proof of misconduct until recently. They came to fix my drain and water lines under the bathroom sink, and I told the plumber I would be installing the faucet myself when they were finished. After months of trying to wrap my head around how to connect the drain pipe to the sink drain I finally realized they had used an adapter to change the pipe size out of the wall from 1 1/4 to 1 1/2. No wonder I couldn't find the right fitting for the 1 1/4 sink drain!! I am sure this was done on purpose in order to get me to call them back (getting more of my money).
There are definitely better options around Lubbock.
I know I won't be calling these guys back.

SCAM ARTISTS.
Mid-afternoon they said it was my capacitor (on ac) and replaced it. Said it was fixed but to wait 4 hours for cool air... 3 hours later I called them back and was told the person was an hour away and had 3 hours of calls ahead of us. When he arrived (9pm) he said it needed a motor which would be $700, but there was no point in repairing it because the whole unit (5 years old) was messed up and we needed to spend $7,500-$10,000 on a new unit.
At this point it was almost 10, we got a hotel room and I was suffering from early stages of heatstroke. I get online and ask my neighbours (Nextdoor app) about the company and around 15 people responded saying that Lowery tried to force them to buy new units too.
The next day we called out Duncan who replaced the motor, said the unit was fine, charged us $400 including the call out fee.
Lowery seems set on nothing but replacing every unit they get their hands on. What should only have been $400 fee turned into $234 (capacitor which I'm sure would have been cheaper elsewhere) and $200 for hotel, almost $900.
I am debating going after them to pay my hotel fees.

After using this company faithfully for 30+ years, and recommending them to countless people, they have left a very sour taste in the mouths of everyone in my family over this past week.
On Fri, 5/30/2014, our A/C stopped cooling. My wife called Payne, and explained the issue - they explained they couldn't get out until Monday - leaving us in 90-100 degree weather over the weekend with no A/C. The coils were freezing up. Monday rolled around, and they came out. They were told we wanted them to check the system thoroughly, AND clean the coils (they had not been cleaned ever, unit is 10+ years old, and was neglected for many years). Their tech came out, spent 10-15 minutes, changed the filter, and declared it done - said coolant was good, compressor was good - filter needed to be changed (it did not - we had only changed it 2 weeks prior, and I checked it before we called them out), charged us $70 to replace the filter, and left. By noon that same day, we knew for certain it was not working. My wife called in as soon as she could, but they refused to make right on it, only stating they would be out the next day.
They did return that Tuesday (6/3/2014), and cleaned the coils as we had requested them do in the first place - to the tune of $350 - no reduction for not having done it the first time, or anything.
OK, now we have A/C - until Thursday night (6/5/2014), when the A/C when to cycle on, and only made a very loud buzzing noise, and would not quit. Called them back Friday morning, and they sent someone again - he gets there, and declares there is no issue to be found, and leaves (no charge, thank God), but says he'll be on call over the weekend, and to call him if it recurs.
Well, guess what - it recurred - by 4PM that same day - cool air WAS blowing, but BARELY - the blower fan wasn't turning, and it was still buzzing VERY loudly. So I called them - THREE TIMES over the weekend - and not even a return call about the issue. My wife finally had to call them again today (Monday, 6/9/2014) where she was promised we were next in line and someone would be out today. As of 8:30PM, we have not heard nor seen anything from them. I tried to call them back by 5:30 - only to get an answering machine - yes, I left a message - no, i did not get a call back.
During all of this time, my 16 year old daughter began to get sick from the heat, my wife and I got little to no sleep, and my wife has a heart condition, and cannot be exposed to heat like that for extended periods - so we're lucky she didn't have a heart attack or stroke.
So, BEWARE - this company obviously does not care about ANY of it's customers - even long-time loyal customer's who have brought them business in the past. Avoid them like the plague...
