I am so disappointed in this company. Our garbage disposal needed repair so I used the request a quote feature on Yelp and sent the issue to multiple companies in the area. Though many companies replied, Rooter Hero was one that would come the next day AND offered 15% off for first-time, military customers which is why I decided to choose this company. I work from home and the Rooter Hero employee was coming in a time window when I would be working, so my dad agreed to be present and talk with the employee and get a quote.

Fast forward to the next day: On my lunch break, after the employee left, my dad informed me that the garbage disposal would need to be replaced and it would cost approximately $520!! Garbage disposals are about $120 (max) at Home Depot. That means I will be paying about $400 for labor. So ridiculous. On top of that, the employee told my dad that the military discount is only 10%. Once the employee returned with the garbage disposal, I informed them that the website says 15% off. The employee's response was Oh. It says that on the website? I guess 15% off then. Although appreciative, that was sketchy--how do you just feel comfortable adding an extra 5% off? Does that mean the prices are arbitrarily assigned???

Overall, I conclude that this company feels comfortable exploiting the elderly. I am so upset, 0/10 recommend.

Once again, the team at Rooter Hero has gone above and beyond helping with an emergency. I had a toilet overflow and their team came out to support this emergency on a weekend and promptly began servicing the issue. As it turns out, it was a much bigger issue than anticipated and they provided great advisory services. They helped avoid additional damage to my home and helped advise on the treatment of the contaminated areas. Unfortunately, my HOA was problematic and I was able to work with Mo and the back office team to get all the information consolidated into a report to provide to my HOA and insurance group. The team was very professional and prompt. Hopefully I don't have any further emergencies but if I do, they'll be the first ones I call.

Eh... they couldn't unclog my drain, but at least they didn't charge for it, so there's that... The thing is, I got a different company the next day and they unclogged the drain in 10min.

That's not the reason for the low rating, though. Aaron was nice, communicated well, and I'm sure he tried his best to solve the problem, he just wasn't successful. He did make sure to clean up really well after his attempts, which I greatly appreciated.

My main issue is to do with what I'm assuming are corporate and dispatch related problems. First of all, the only reason I called them is because of a coupon I got in the mail for a $77 drain cleaning. Well... those $77 very quickly turned into much more once the plumber actually showed up, since he decided to go on the roof to snake the drain through the vent... (the other company that unclogged it in 10min did it from under the sink). Why he wouldn't try the easiest thing first is beyond me... unless the reason is that they're forced by corporate to find some way of making that coupon not applicable.

Then there's the scheduling. When Aaron wasn't successful with unclogging the drain, he said he'd be back the next morning with a camera and better equipment. The next morning he even gave me a call to say he'll be coming soon. 5 hours later I gave up on waiting and called another company that came out within the hour and fixed the problem.

The redeeming factor for all of this is that they don't charge if they don't finish the job, so at least from a monetary standpoint there was no damage done. But I did waste an entire afternoon and entire morning on them, so I think it justifies leaving a review.

Highly recommend Rooter Hero Plumbing! We had a main line issue that caused a back up into all of our toilets, tubs and shower on a Saturday night. We decided to let it sit overnight to see if it will pass on its own and the next morning, it worked! We were able to flush but...when we showered and ran the washing machine..the toilets began to make noises and backup was coming through again.

We went onto yelp and decided to reach out to Rooter Hero Plumbing since reviews on them were good and they could possibly come out on a Sunday. I called them at 9am and Rodrigo and Ricardo came over to access the issue in the afternoon. Throughout the day, I received several calls from their office to keep me updated on the time and if there was a delay, which i appreciated! Excellent customer service!

Rodrigo and Ricardo were AMAZING to work with. Ricardo actually knew the original layout of the home since the flippers decided to extend the bathroom so he knew where to put the snake in (wait, is that what their machine is called?). Within 30 minutes, we could flush with no issues AND the price was RIGHT.

We may need to replace a pipe in the future but they went over the process and i was able to obtain a quote. We also were given tips on how to prevent this issue in the future, which we appreciate. They also worked on turf before so that eased our mine since we just got it done.

Ricardo and Rodrigo were amazing and i would highly recommend this company! They even offered to clean up our internal bathroom issues but i was able to get it to before they came over...once everything drained. ICK.

BEWARE OF ENTRAPMENT!!! I purchased a toilet from Home Depot and contacted them about installation. I asked them for a ballpark estimate over the phone and they said their price was $329, but that INCLUDED the toilet. I asked them what it would be since I already purchased on my own, and they said the installer would quote me on-site. I had reasonable expectation it would LESS than $329 since I was providing the toilet myself. I went ahead and booked the appointment and did not schedule anyone else. The tech arrived and quoted me $469!!! When I asked why it was 50% higher without the toilet, they just said that was their book price. After getting a manager on the phone, they said the best they could do was $359. I sent them away and had to schedule someone else. This was a clear attempt at ENTRAPMENT!!

By the way, the other plumber was able to install my toilet no problem for $239...

I had a main line sewer blockage so I called this company since they seemed to specialize in this type of plumbing. They responded promptly and were at the house within an hour. The plumber was professional and courteous. He attempted to clear the line without success. He told me he was calling another plumber with a camera to inspect the lines. About an hour later the second plumber showed up and the camera was placed it in the line. They told me they located a blockage but you could not see what was there due to water in the line. They checked with a sensor and informed me the blockage was in my line near where it turned to the street. I was told it was most likely roots from my tree causing the problem. The supervisor who was the second plumber on site said he would come up with some options for me. He returned to my house about an hour later and gave me the news. He quoted me $3800.00 for a spot repair as the minimum possible solution. The price went from that to over $20,000 for pipe replacement. When I refused to have the work done he said they could hydro jet the line for $1600. I told them I would think about it. He returned to his truck and came back stating he spoke with his boss and they could reduce the hydro jetting to $1200. I told them this was too much money and I would need to think about it.

The following day I called a local drain cleaning company. They came out and determined the blockage was 30 feet down the line from were the other company said it was. The plumber helped me locate the clean out to the street which was buried about a foot underground. He ran a snake down the line. He was able to clear the line. Total cost $50.00.

I was obviously unhappy with Rooter Hero. They quoted me a ridiculous rate to repair a pipe that was not damaged or blocked. I could have spent $3800 and still not resolved my problem. The plumber who cleared the line confirmed my pipes were in good shape with no root issues. It was obvious that Rooter Hero was not interested in clearing my line. There goal was to attempt to sell me work that was not necessary at a much higher price.

I would stay away from this company. There are many local companies that will do this job for a fair rate and not try to sell you work that is not necessary.

I highly recommend Rooter Hero, and especially if it's an emergency. Great response time and price! At 5:30 pm on a Saturday, all our drains (incl. the tubs & toilets) backed up. After calling several plumbers, all with ridiculous estimates and wait times, I found Rooter Hero on Yelp. They called me right back with an estimated ETA of less than 1 hr. and also a very reasonable price. Frankie, a clean, friendly & experienced plumber arrived at my door within 35 minutes, and had my blocked main line drain pipe cleaned out within the hour, and for less than $100. Problem solved!

I would never recommend this company to anyone. I have a clogged kitchen sink and called them Friday 10/21 late afternoon and got a apt between 8-10 the next day- about 9:15 I get a call that they were running late as the tech was stuck at another job and would be closer to 10:00- they never showed up so I called them back 10:40 and said he should be out by 11:00 again never showed then I called to find out they moved my apt to 1:30 without letting me know. they still never showed and wanted to move my appt from 3-5 I couldn't wait any longer so they r/s me for next day Sunday from 9-11 and promised me I would be the first person- They never showed nor called so I called them and the lady was going to check and call me right back as she was calling the supervisor- she never called back so I called them back at 12:45 to find out they didn't even have a plumber available at all. So never less I wasted by entire weekend waiting on them and still have a clogged kitchen sink. Never call them

To be completely honest i'm not even sure how they have such a high rating on yelp. We had an absolutely horrible experience, and I can't imagine how many other customers have dealt with the same service we did.

We had a slab leak in our driveway that was leaking a massive amount of water. The only reason we found out was because our water bill tripled and it triggered us to look around our property for a possible leak. We found the area of concrete that was filling up with water, and it was near a broken faucet.

We called Rooter Hero on an early Tuesday Afternoon to see if we could have someone come out asap to repair the leak. We provided them all of the details, and even told them that the leak was happening under the concrete to make sure they knew to send the proper technician to help us. They scheduled us an appt and told us someone would be out to our house no later than 5pm. Fast forward to 5pm, no one showed up to our house, and no one called us about an update. We called back at 6pm to see where the technician was, and they said Oh sorry, he must have got caught up, but we can send him out there sometime tomorrow.

They had no sense of urgency, as we were stuck with water pouring out of our pipe. We explained to them multiple times that this wasn't just a small baby leak, it was a massive slab leak. We ended up having to shut off the entire water source to our house just so that we wouldn't continue to waste water and cause a potential mold issue.

Fast forward to the next day when they were supposed to come make the repair. 5PM and still no one has arrived. We called them again and they said Sorry, the technician has been slammed with work, and he should be there shortly.

He finally showed up at 7pm, extremely unprofessional, and the first thing he said was I'm technically already off the clock, and there's not much I will be able to do tonight, but let me take a look and see what needs to be done. I showed him the area where it was leaking, and he said oh, since that's under the concrete we have to send a special contractor out here, and that might take afew days to get him out here. We had already explained this to the operator multiple that it was under the concrete, so I don't know why they wouldn't have just sent out the correct person to begin with.

We were extremely frustrated because at this point we had already gone 2 full days waiting for someone to make the repair. Meanwhile having our water bill increase significantly while we waited for the repairs to be made. I was just shocked that they didn't take this seriously and get us some help. I work in the property management industry and this is considered an emergency plumbing repair.

Long story short, we ended up cancelling our service with them and we were able to fix the repair on our own. We didn't even have to break the concrete. We spent $15 at home depot and got caps to close off the broken faucet. The original technician could have at-least done that for us until the other technician was able to come out.

Absolutely do not use this company! I had a sewer line back-up and while I believe the person doing the plumbing believed he was working for a good company and tried to do a good job, the sales technician priced the job at three times the amount it should have cost.

The sales technician took total advantage of the fact that it was an emergency situation. He would not give me a breakdown of the parts and services. He also pushed adding the cost of the repair to a property tax add-on program or a high interest financing plan, which would have multiplied the cost further.

This company should not be in business. The word on the street is that their workmanship has endangered the structural integrity of homes and they have charged customers for work that was never performed.

6/28/16 Absolute waste of time. Just as others have said on here that they had to jackhammer around the toilet to repair pipe in slab, thats what they told me. They spent less then 15 minutes trying to snake drain. First plumber that came out wanted me to pay him a bunch on the side and he would come back on his own time and still fix nothing. Second plumber was more knowledgeable but said he couldn't clear the line without jackhammering up six tiles in one bathroom. My father in law is a very large plumbing contractor and informed me that plumbing companies do this all the time. Younger plumbers do not understand solutions for old plumbing. These guys did nothing, wasted my entire day and then explained payment plans for a $6000 repair I would never allow them to do. They could only explain that the way one pipe was made it impossible to snake the drain. Well yes, that may be true, but there are many other solutions rather than a $6000 jackhammer, cut and repair job. No expert knowledge here. Just a company trying to make money on large repairs through fear of bigger problems.

JUST TO BE CLEAR....IDEAL PLUMBING CAME TO MY HOUSE TODAY(6/29/16) AND HAD THE PROBLEM FIXED IN AN HOUR...DRAIN SNAKED AND FREE OF ISSUES. AMAZING HOW I DID NOT NEED $6000 WORTH OF WORK ON MY PERFECTLY FINE PIPES

The pipe was clogged due to my doing, but Dennis found a cracked pipe along the way which had been leaking for sometime and mold was present. They were truly my hero today. I have contacted Rooter Hero plumbing On Thursday and I was confirmed, in writing, appointment for Friday afternoon. Despite me waiting at the house and talking to rooter hero plumbing representatives trying to get more precise ETA.. they kept me waiting only to let me know at 6pm (U had to call again) that they do not have plumber .. I have not encountered such a unprofessional team in long time. Multiple Representative that I spoke, were misleading leading me into believing that the plumber was on its way.. just not available to confirm exact arrival and that i should not worry as they will definitely come.. so now on Friday night I am stuck as a result of their un-professionalism.. so based on my experience I will cross them completely from my local plumber directory and will share my experience with all my friends and family

Morghan came and took care of a problem in like two hours that another plumber had been unable to finish in 3 days. He was also very clean making sure my bathroom looked nice and normal when he left.
There price was reasonable and they showed up 30 minutes into a two hour window but still called me to make sure it was ok I'm case I'd been waiting right when they said they might show up. Overall just a really really good experience.

I hope not to have future plumbing problems but if I do I'll use them again.

Called in the morning to schedule a 5-7pm appointment for a clogged shower drain. Come 7:30pm nobody has arrived, after 3 calls I find out they don't have the staff and are trying to get a plumber to volunteer to assist me. Meanwhile shower still clogged. I don't expect much from a plumbing company, but this was too much. I'd recommend you find another company and save yourself the hassle.

I have been happy with all the technicians that have come out but lately Travis has been available to come help us. I am very happy with the work he has done. He arrives on time, is knowledgeable and has fixed the problems quickly. He has also offered suggestions on how we can improve our facilities to reduce our need to call a plumber. I like that the same technician comes out so they get to know our property. Will definitely call him again.

Last week we completed a major plumbing project lasting 5 days at our home in Point Loma by ROOTER HERO PLUMBING. We had a slow and clogged drain in our kitchen and half bath and after 70 years it needed some major attention. The project was not inexpensive but the Rooter Hero Plumbing employees did a great job for us.
A HUGE SHOUTOUT to Jason Zadorozny, the lead Technican on the job. He was punctual everyday; a pleasant and a wonderful man who worked hard daily to solve our problems. He earned our respect and trust as a professional. Paul, an installer did great work also. Ask for these guys when you use RHP.

Ordered service on Wednesday morning for 3-5 window on Thursday afternoon. Arrived at 503 pm. Did work. Same problem at 8pm. Called ordered service back to fix for 3-5 on Friday. Got pushed back, then back then back. Each time I only found out because I called them. They (Rosie) dispatch. Derek. Technician and Mike supervisor never called me. Finally they said next day first thing in the morning, 9am. It's now 10am and I called them. Still waiting.

Placed a non-emergency call to Rooter Hero, plumber John was there in 2 hours, did the job in 5 minutes and said I will not charge $100 (their hourly minimum fee) for this job. Wednesday July 6, 2016: I got a call from home that the tub and shower were filling with water. We had a serious backup problem at about 10:30am. I called and was told there would be a technician out between 11:30-12:00 noon. I got home and cleaned up the inside and waited for them to arrive. At 12:15pm, I called dispatch and asked where my help was. At which time they told me that he was running late and would be here shortly. I was NOT happy with this response as I feel that it is crucial to keep the customer apprised of the most current status. I asked what they would do for me and they actually agreed to lower the price of the service. It gets better from here! The technician(s) arrived shortly thereafter and had the updated price in their tablet. They started working and had a lot of issues with the drain. At one point I thought they might give up... but they didn't. Matt S. - A new employee who was actually on one of his training days stayed on task and worked hard to get the drain unplugged. I was quite pleased when he showed me that the water was once again flowing. Then, another truck arrived and Louis got out his camera gear and ran it down the pipe to see what was going on. BTW - Other companies charge a minimum of ~ $150-200 for this service alone! He showed me the issue (broken pipe) and explained my options. They both stayed and made sure I was completely working again, all for the lowered price quoted on the phone! This job started out looking as though it was going to go sideways, but they quickly adjusted course and made it right. Good on Rooter Hero, they certainly lived up to the name today.

We had a leak in our garage that was coming from the bathroom above! We needed someone asap to come fix the problem as the drywall in the garage had let out from the excess leakage. We called several random plumbers around our area that we found online and they all charged anywhere from $120-150 an hour to just come look at the problem! Rooter Hero Plumbing was the only company that would come out, no charge, to check
everything out and tell us where exactly the leak was coming from. They even had a same day appointment! Dennis and Ruben came out and they were so professional and kind! The leak was coming from our toilet. They fixed the leak the same day and even fixed the hole in the garage ceiling. Excellent service!! We will definitely be using them again (but hope we won't have to)!!

23 days later still no quote. Really rude to waste someone's time having to arrange to meet a contractor during business hours for them to totally flake for no identifiable reason. Don't waste your time with this company, they don't care.

Excellent company. They answer the phone when you call, they call you with updates as to the arrival of the technician and they show up on time! Chris came out to clear a clogged main line that affected three of the bathrooms in my house. After clearing the clog for $77 he left. The problem however, returned later that day and so Chris promptly returned along with Bob to camera the line to see what was going on. I've got cast iron pipes that are nearing the end of there life so the sewer water doesn't flow as freely as it did when the pipes were new. There was sludge in a section of the pipe that could not be cleared with a snake and instead would have to be blasted away with a water jet. With the camera in the line, it was easy to see and understand exactly what was going on. Chris and Bob were able to return the next day with the water jet to thoroughly clean the sewer line. After having done that the camera was placed back in the sewer line to verify that all was well.
In total, Roto Hero made three trips to my house over a span of 24 hours to make sure that the sewer line problem was taken care of properly. The camera in the line also gave me peace of mind that the issue was resolved and shouldn't return any time soon. Roto Hero stands behind their work with a guarantee too. All of this work was done for under $300.
I'm very happy with the quality of work that was done and the excellent service I received. I would highly recommend Roto Hero to anyone.

I called 6/19/21 and the dispatcher told me someone would be out between 9-11pm at around 10pm they called me and said they would not be able to make it tonight. They said they would be here the next day first thing. The plumber Daniel W came and said he would take a look. He came back after about 10-20 minutes and told me. He found the leak and it was a copper pipe leaking. He said it would be be $508. I said okay and he went to fix it. He came back to the door about 1 1/2 hr and said his repair would not take because the pipe was extremely corroded and he had to get more stuff to fix it. He came back about an hour and twenty minutes and said he was going to try again. He came back 50 minutes later and said the repair was done. He said that the repair from fitting to fitting is covered for a year. I asked did you replace the whole pipe he said no. I said how bad is the remaining pipe and he said just as bad as the pipe I repaired. I said I wished I knew that before you did the repair. I don't want to pay $500 for a bandaid. I told him I was not satisfied with that and will pay but will take it up with his manager. He said well this is the first time in 5 years I had a unsatisfied customer. I paid him and as I was walking away to leave he said, one unsatisfied customer in 5 years I will take that. I did not engage him. Very unprofessional!

Oh my gosh these guys rock!!! They answered the phone at 1 pm on a Sunday and had a guy named Levi out within an hour. He unclogged everything fast and had a great personality and attitude.

I had house guests with small children and one toilet--I was so worried I wouldn't find someone to fix it and we would have a terrible nite of everyone needing to GO and no where for them to do it.

I am so thankful for this company and for Levi helping ensure my guests have a great time! I highly recommend!

From beginning to end, Rooter Hero lived up to their name. A sequence of events that began Saturday night and continued through Thursday before everything was set really posed some challenges for this family of five. Rooter Hero responded right away and stuck with it to the end. Henry Service Manager Castorena (Obi Wan Kenobi) led with his wisdom and instincts from 30+ years of experience; Victor (Luke Skywalker) quietly and patiently applied his surgeon-like care; Dennis (Han Solo) provided the smarts, the wit, and the determination to get things done. Individually, they each brought their own unique talents, knowledge, and instincts at just the moments they were needed; collectively, they brought the force. They provided suggestions, but were not afraid to pivot mid-stream saving us money by shifting to the more likely next step rather than just doing the expensive but now unnecessary thing we had previously agreed to do. They easily could have just taken my money by doing unnecessary things, but they didn't. They demonstrated integrity, honesty, and commitment to a job well done, and restored freedom to the galaxy (the sink). Thank you!

Our bath tub drain wasn't working so well anymore. I came across a coupon ad that I received in the mail, for Rooter Hero. After making a few calls to other plumbing businesses, I was able to schedule a same day appointment with Rooter Hero. The plumber who arrived on time to fix the drain did a thorough job. I was impressed with his professional and courteous service.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! Definitely regret using this company. Our bathroom sink became severely clogged about a week and a half ago. Called Rooter Hero to have someone come out and look at it for Sunday. The appointment window was 9a-11am to work around our daughter's nap schedule. 1030 rolled around and we hadn't heard anything from them so my husband gave them a call to check in. They claimed they called and left a message at 815 checking to see if we still wanted service. My husband checked his phone again and although it listed a missed call there was no voicemail. That should've been our first clue to not use this company. We were able to reschedule for a 3pm-5pm window that same day. They checked the trap and found the clog was in the main line. They had to go into the wall and replace water stops. The very next morning the sink was clogged up again, and worse this time. At least the original clog had drained by the time they had come to look at it but here we are on Saturday with a sink still full of backed up water. My husband called on Monday to let them know the sink was in fact still clogged. They made an appointment for Saturday (today) for 9am-11am. My husband just called them and they claimed we didn't have an appointment scheduled for today even though my husband had clarified three times before today that the appointment was for Saturday Nov 23rd. Also when my husband mentioned on the phone just now that he called Monday to let the company know the sink was still clogged and made an appointment to have it looked at the woman on the other end of the phone said that she could see something in the system about that. So which is it? We don't have an appointment for today or you can see that we do? We are now apparently waiting for dispatch to call us to let us know when someone can be here to look at it but I'm not holding my breath. We should probably just call someone else to come look at it at this point. Really not sure how this company has such a high yelp rating, cause this is super shady. Needless to say we are beyond frustrated with them and will definitely NEVER be hiring this company again.

Our negative saga continues. After an hour of not hearing back from the dispatcher my husband called again to see when we could expect someone we were once again told that they didn't have us on the schedule for today. Seriously???? My husband once again agreed to wait for a call back from them on an estimated arrival time. A supervisor called him back and said he would head over himself he just had to go to Ramona to get his tools and then he would be over to help us. While my husband was making lunch he noticed a missed called from Rooter Hero at 11:44 with once again no voicemail. He called them back and they let him know a technician was on the way to our house. Apparently the supervisor handed the job off to the guy that originally came out to our place last week. Yep that's who I want to fix it the guy who claimed to have fixed it before After my husband got off the phone he realized we still didn't really have an ETA for the technician arrival so he called Rooter Hero back again. Turns out our technician had been driving for an hour and it would be ANOTHER hour and a half before he arrives at our place. Where the heck is he driving from?? This is such bad customer service on so many levels

So unfortunately I have to update this review again. It turns out we are just being lied to. We called to AGAIN check on the status of the technician we were promised was on his way to us and the woman on the phone said he would be here no later than 3 even though we were told 2 originally. She then says oh yeah it looks like you had a window from 12-2. No one that we spoke to earlier said anything about an appointment window they specifically stated a technician was on their way to us. So much shady behavior.

I called rooter Hero plumbing out when my mainline drain backed up because of roots. Mike came out and laid out a few options for my problem I went with the promotional price for snaking my mainline he pulled roots out and offered a free camera inspection... There was soon many roots my line was so bad and I had no idea what to do. Mike assured me that he could take care of any situation and we decided on the 2nd option to clear all the roots out and also get a great backup warranty. He Hydro jetted my mainline and after he was done he put a camera down the line to make sure he did a good job, and there was not one root in my line. It's been 2 months and we haven't had one problem. We went from getting backups every other week for a few months to none, and all for a great price. I will be referring rooter Hero plumbing to all my friends and family. Mike your the best! Thank you

Kenneth Showers, the technician was very friendly and knowledgeable, provided excellent customer service, and went above and beyond. He performed the drain cleaning special for $77. He went out of his way and we definitely recommend him and Rooter Hero Plumbing.

Have to give a shout out to Frankie. He was clutch, calm and collected on a day that turned out to be a pretty hectic one. My wife and I were expecting a baby girl-- what we didn't expect was for baby girl to make her debut on the day we scheduled an appointment to fix our plumbing!

The shower in our master bedroom had been slow to drain for a few days, but with a baby on the way, ready to pop out anytime now, the shower drain was the least of our worries. Then one night, the shower decided to stop draining completely, about 3-4 inches of bathwater just sitting there on the shower floor. The thought of clogged pipes made us feel uneasy, especially in the event we needed to be away from the house for a couple nights at the hospital. We called Rooter Hero and they were able to send a guy out in a couple days.

The job turned out to be trickier for Frankie than we thought. Since our master bedroom is upstairs, access to the shower's piping was a bit more difficult. We also didn't have an outdoor spigot for him to connect a hose to in order to flush out the culprit. He improvised and used the washing machine as his water source, also located upstairs. The hose connects to a balloon that expands within the clogged pipe and forces the blockage out. Upon doing this, we discovered the bathroom tub adjacent to the shower was also backed up. This job was going to take a little longer, but Frankie was confident we were going to get this done.

Then my wife called out from downstairs. My first thought was that she just wanted to know how things were going up there. The last thing I thought she was going to say was, My water just broke.

You've got to be kidding me, laughed Frankie as I broke the news to him. He switched up the game plan. With two clogged drains he decided to snake out the blockage manually which would only take 10-15 more minutes. We had some time anyway. We were waiting for my wife's folks to come down and pick up our one-and-half-year old daughter.

I forgot to mention, while all this was going down, we had a hyperactive one-and-a-half-year-old girl running around upstairs. Clementine's usually shy around strangers but she knew Frankie was good people, and would poke her head into the bathroom from time-to-time to see what we were doing. She was having so much fun running up and down the hallway, she stopped at one point and spit up all her milk.

We're good! Frankie said, showing me two disgusting clumps of dirt and hair that had hardened and grown to the size of tennis balls. Frankie did it just in time. He gave us a reasonable price for the job, especially given the circumstances, and congratulated us on the way out.

With the upstairs shower and bathtub unclogged, we had one less thing to worry about, so that we can focus on something (or someone) more important. Our healthy baby girl Cori was born on January 3, 2019 at 8:40pm, 7 pounds and 8 ounces. We were close to naming her Frankie but Cori was the name we agreed upon, named after Corazon Aquino, the first female president of the Philippines. Still, Frankie from Rooter Hero will forever be a part of Cori's story we will never forget.

Fair warning: Avoid this plumbing company for SEVERAL reasons.
1) What started as a clogged shower line, quickly turned into a $4800 remove/replace old cast iron UNDER the slab. This alone wasnt so much an issue as what transpired to get this done and what I was left with once they claimed to have been done.
2) Lead plumber in a a 4-day project turned up missing for a day and a half with no notice until I called into their main office to inquire. This extended the job from 4 to 6 days.
3) Second plumber sent out to finish work hit my retaining wall in my driveway, with no mention until I reviewed my security camera. While backing his van into my driveway, he actually HIT and attempted to repair my retaining wall without any word to me-causing several hundred dollars damage to both my retaining wall and driveway.
4) Repair job of my foundation slab was a hack job that took much work on my part to bring the floor back to original tile-able condition. What they claim was their slab patch job was a hack job that was rushed,poorly finished and structurally unsound.

This company was so poor in quality, I contacted Bill Howe and other plumber WHILE they working to get quotes to have OTHER plumbers FINISH their work. I wrongly decided against it and allowed them to finish their job.

Learn from my mistake and save yourself the pain in working with these guys. Itll save you stress, damage to your house and a poor job done IF completed.

How do you charge someone over 20k and then bring it down to half price because this person sought out another estimate!!
What does that say?!!!
Common sense people.
If you want to give away your money, by all means do! You're the loser in this situation. Do your homework before throwing away your life savings down the drain!

I would like to start off by thanking the new mgnt staff at Roto Hero for taking care of an unfinished main sewer line job that left us hanging out to dry by the previous administration.
Lou and Chad really stepped up to the plate to correct and finish a very difficult job restoring my faith in this company. Lou pushed through all the bureaucracy and red tape with the city at no cost to me totally honoring Roto Hero's original agreement. Outstanding customer service!!
Chad is the trooper who kept coming back time after time working his butt off until the job was completely and satisfactorily completed...what an ordeal that turned out to be but he saw it through to the end...thanks Chad!
I would highly recommend Roto Hero for any of your plumbing needs...thanks again guys :)

I don't like to make negative reviews. However, I called Rooter Hero because of their $77 drain clean special. They came out promptly and were very friendly. Unfortunately, after FOUR hours, the clog was worse than when they arrived and had backed up even further into the tubs and showers. They called their boss/supervisor and he came right out. He claimed that there was a large root which could not be cleared and offered to dig a large hole in the front yard so that we could drain our main line into the hole. The cost? $2500!! I said is that for digging the hole and repairing the pipe? He said no, just to dig the hole. So we would have a large hole full of sewage in the front yard for TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS! I declined and called Roto Rooter. They came out the next day and cleared the drain in 15 minutes. There was no charge as they had been out before. The tech did agree that we needed to eventually install a new pipe or a new cleanout in the front yard. I cannot recommend Rooter Hero as it appears that they make their money out of ridiculous upsales. Sorry.

The owner called me immediately after I posted the above review. He wanted more details and asked what he could do to make me happy. He explained the situation from his perspective. I had to agree that (even though the service was not to my satisfaction), I did not pay anything and his people did not get paid. He sincerely wanted to make things right. He said there was a miscommunication and they were going to install a clean out and not just dig a hole. I told him that I had a bid for the clean out for $1500 and he said he would do it for $1200. I declined as I don't want to do business with this company again. However, I may have been harsh with my original 1 star review. Given his apparent sincerity to make things right, I'm changing it to 2.5 stars.

My family owns a rental condo and the tenant reported a blockage on kitchen sink. I called a number of high rated plumbers in Yelp. Rooter Hero were the ones who had the earliest opening. They were attentive, the price was very fair, and did a great job. I highly recommend them.

Terrible service. First of all a technician was sent out to clean the drains. He finished job and we went to go check to see if the bathroom had cleared and now the tub wasn't draining. Called again and they said they would send a different technician. Different technician came and they tried to charge us again for a job that was not completed after we told him we would not pay again he got upset and said he didn't drive all this way for nothing. Put his rooting machine in for like 10 feet then said his machine would break if he went any further. After he stormed out we went to check what he had done and left everything on the floor. We have children and pets that play outside very unsafe and unprofessional would not recommend their service

No stars. They came out fixed a drain clog on an emergent basis for a very high fee. When the drain was clogged again in 2 wks they came out and said the problem was different thus not covered under the 90 day warranty, then they tried to sell me a $690 jet pipe cleaning service. Such predatory and unscrupulous business practices. Will never call them again. Please find another service if you can.

Don't waste your time. They came to un clog my kitchen. After 2 weeks it clogged again! So, They came out again and offered a jetted service for 250! Whatever get it done! Again, two weeks later...it was clogged...AGAIN! At this point they blamed it on the builder....so I contacted the builder. The builder showed me through the camera how clogged up the pipes were! I'm thinking to myself-wth did roto rooter do?! I just paid them a lot of money!!!! Called hero back-complained all the way to the top. Had managers calling me and coming to my home just to say- there's no way we could've jetted these pipes, there's a hard 90 ok, whatever! Get the hell out of my house and refund my money! Don't waste your time
They are all obviously non educated and not customer friendly. I did get my $250 back- if you ask me I should have got all my money back!

I called Rotter Hero on a Sunday morning after I woke up to a disgusting sludge coming out of my kitchen sink. I live on the 1st floor of a 4 story building and the gross water was backing up from the units above.
Rooter Hero set the appointment in a timely manner and was at my door with in a few hours. Derek was my technician. He was very friendly, and efficiently fixed the drain. He was courteous and got the job done in no time. I would definitely recommend Rooter hero for any, and all your plumbing needs. Extra points for Sunday service with week day rates.

Unfortunately I've delayed in writing this review so I do not recall the technician that came out to my home, but Rooter Hero was phenomenal to work with. One of the lines from our water heater had a failed seal, and Rooter Hero was able to send someone out to take a look, diagnose it and fix it that same evening late at night at a reasonable cost. Admittedly they were not the first plumbing company I'd called, though they were the first ones to have someone get in touch with me to get the appointment scheduled. Another company called me two days later asking if I still needed assistance!

I would highly recommend Rooter Hero based on my experience. Thank you!

THESE PEOPL ARE CROOKS! Do not call them. They tried to sell me $11,000 plumbing repair I didn't need. I called a local guy from Next Door for a second opinion and he had the drain cleared in 15 minutes after I had spent all day with these yokels.
Oh, and then they had the nerve to call me the next day and asked to be paid fir the service call.

Thing is, I had used the company last year and the did a fine job clearing the drain. I don't know if it was the company pushing or just these guys trying to make a buck but, as Turko would say, IT AIN'T RIGHT!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I decided to call them, just because I saw a neighbor use them once. Little did I know they had negative issues with this company as well. Was experiencing a foul & pungent sewer smell coming from all my drains. I tried cleaning/flushing them myself, with no luck. Called this company & a guy showed up, & ran his camera down the line...next thing I know he was telling me he would have to replace some of my main lines because of a blockage. This entailed digging up a large section of my yard & driveway for a jaw dropped estimate of $10K. Told the guy to take a hike. Called up another company right away, & he came out & ran his rooter down the pipes. He spent about 4 hours with me, just running his rooter down the pipes. After that, he said all done, & no smells since. I talked with my neighbor several days later about Rooter Hero, & they told me almost the exact same story.

TLDR: Great service at a great price! My main backed up on a Sunday with a home full of guests, needless to say I was expecting to pay overtime wages along with a four hour wait until a plumber was on site. Levi showed up in a little over an hour and had the problem fixed within another hour at their everyday (great) prices. He was professional, efficient, and respectful of my home. Levi earned a repeat customer.

We called Rooter Hero yesterday after my husband did all he could do to unclog an awkward bathroom sink drain. Mike D. came on time, was very personable, and careful to protect our floors. He showed my husband the secret to reinstalling the P trap in a very small space, at an odd angle, i.e. He went out of his way to give us the least costly solution - and only charged us a nominal fee! We will definitely be using Rooter Hero and Mike any time we have plumbing issues in the future.

During Covid 19 no one came into our home visiting. Not families, or friends. Covid 19 lockdown is a very bad time. I retired, now disabled, and unable to do work to this ability. These two men in their own rights. Gave us the professional attention and care of a Doctor healing his patients. Clearly, they demonstrated extreme personal responsibility in their work ethics. They came in lightly and got to work and kept to it until they found it! They offered their minds, hearts, and their prayers with both their devoted work efforts. They performed~Satsang; following their truth. Plumbing at its very BEST!

Called them to fix a plugged drain. Plumber drilled a hole through wall into other bathroom. Ended up with a hole in the pipe. Said it would cost $1,300 to fix. Drain is unplugged, but both the front and back bathroom sinks drain into bucket in back bathroom

Asked plumber to come back out and repair front bathroom sink (so that it doesn't drain into back bathroom). Plumber would not admit that he'd screwed up when he'd drilled a hole into front bathroom. Said the pipe was old and not his problem

Problem is that we had NO PROBLEM in front bathroom sink until plumber drilled a hole from back bathroom into front bathroom

All I want is for them to fix the front bathroom leak AT NO COST TO ME since we didn't cause the leak

Had a leak in my kitchen sink. Called one plumbing service and that place never responded . Called Rotor Hero and Allen was sent to my house the next day! He was thorough and professional. It's apparent that he went above and beyond. He was very courteous and kind. Stayed and cleaned up all the work area even when he was running late for the next appointment! i would use Allen again. Impressed with their ability to unclog my sink so quickly and did a really nice job cleaning up afterwards. The cost was very fair and I recommend these guys. Beware of rooter hero charging you absolutely rediculous rates if you are having a plumbing emergency! My mother (68 years old) had a plumbing emergency which consisted of the main sewer line being clogged close to where the home sewer line intersected the city. Every time my mom would run the shower or sink etc. the pipe would back up and sewage would backup into the bathtub.. Rooter hero came out and quoted her $17,000 to clean out the pipe, build a cleanout valve and put epoxy in the pipe from the house to the tee where the house line meets the city. This is a a substantial job, but does no way justify $17,000!!!!!!!! I believe what went thru the plumbers mind was let's take advantage of this older women, after all she is nervous about what is happening and she will have no clue what the scope of work is when I describe it to her. My mom agreed to the estimate which was presented on an iPhone (not easy for some people to read, especially when agreeing to an estimate in the thousands). I ended up calling the plumber half way thru the project and instructed them to only perform the clean out of the line and build the clean out valve, which still cost $5,000. Rooter hero, let me ask you this, if I had three competent plumbing companies to bid this scope of work, do you think the average cost out of 3 bids would be $5,000? I would bet, absolutely not!!!!! After the whole event, I spoke with my friend who is a plumber and he said for $17,000 you would be able to get all new plumbing fixtures and copper pipes throughout the entire house ! Customer beware, if you are under the pressure of a plumbing emergency, do yourself a favor and hold off until you can get multiple bids before you agree to proceeding with any work! Sad to see companies preying on uninformed home owners.

I recently had Rooter Hero perform an extensive plumbing job at my house which involved digging trenches, laying copper pipe, and pouring concrete. I was nervous about agreeing to such a large job, but Mike and Randy put my mind at ease. Throughout the process, I was very impressed with the professionalism and work ethic of Mike Sleeper. He was able to work around my personal schedule and made sure we had water running in the house as much as possible. He was also very tidy with all work that he completed, which I really appreciate. Chad did a great job laying the concrete! All in all, I would highly recommend Rooter Hero for your complicated plumbing needs. Thanks RH and Mike for such a great job!!

Hadi was the plumber who came to visit me for a free estimate.
He gave an estimate which was reasonable. He did a good job and was very clean and cleaned up after himself. He had booties on when he came into my unit as well.
The most important thing was he was very honest and had a very mild and gentle personality to have someone like him in your house helping you with the plumbing.
I would use his service again.

Had a drain clog and decided to contact rooter hero around 4pm after I made contact they was going to have someone out within an hour and a half, pretty good response as it was getting late, every other company wanted to charge extra or couldn't make it today. Update: it's been almost a year since they finished my job, but they still haven't finished what the city required of them in the street. The new manager was friendly back in January when I called them out on this, but then nothing ever materialized except one meeting and I never heard from the company again. And now things they installed during my project are starting to break because of the poor job they did, resulting in this terrible eyesore outside my house. USING THIS COMPANY IS MY BIGGEST REGRET!! I will forever harbor so much anger towards this company whenever I look at my house for all the UGLY, UNFINISHED work they did that I paid an arm and a leg for and then they tried to make me feel bad about because of how much money they lost on my job!! Not my fault that they screwed up the project so bad, but unfortunately their losses resulted in horrible results that I have to live with, so thanks for ruining my first home!! I will never stop spreading the word about how horrible my experience was and continues to be with Rooter Hero.

Very nice technician. Only problem was the outrageous pricing to do any work beyond the most basic rooter work. The $79 special turned out to be $300 at the project start, and then ballooned to $2800 to hydro clean the pipe. Don't fall for this scam.

I have used this company several times. Once again they delivered quality service. The repair man, Brian was exceptional. He was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything to me and got the job done in a timely and efficient manner.

At this time my only concern is their dispatch center. I understand they were experiencing a new system, however please have someone that is dealing with customers be able to speak fluent English.

I will use this company for future services in the area plumbing.

They never showed up for three appointments: Friday 1-3pm, Friday 3-5pm, Saturday 8-10am. They would call randomly to give me useless updates (it would have been fine if they showed up when they said they would). One call was at Friday at 1:30pm to say they wouldn't be able to make that time slot. Another call was that they are waiting for their technicians to check in and they would call us when one was on their way to our home.

This company wasted a lot of my time. They have poor scheduling and customer service.

I had a water heater leaked on a Sunday evening. I called Rooter Hero Plumbing of San Diego was very responsive. Gil the plumber technician was sent to follow-up was very courteous, informative and professional, in less than 1 hour he arrived in our home address. The issue was addressed immediately and appropriately. He provided thorough assessment and explanation.

I also inquired with the pressure regulators and he gave his assessment and recommendations. He was very attentive to even provide the email via quote and was not pushy on getting it done.

The following day I called the company decided to do the pressure regulators. Gil was on time, courtesy calls was given for his ETA which I highly appreciate and he finished the pressure regulators without any issues.

He remained very professional and excellent customer service.

If you have any plumbing issues and water leaks this is the company you need to call for.

I was not able to have them fix my water heater due to my insurance has their assigned contractors but otherwise I very satisfied with their services.

FYI this company is open 24/7 which is a life saver.

Not sure what's going on with the reviews for Rooter Hero's...seems half are 5 star, and if not 5 star, it's most likely a single star. Guessing it's a bit of luck of the draw?
Me, I was very pleased with their service via employee Chad and later his coworker Mike. They were personable, professional and a hard workers that got our main drain working pretty fast. I asked for and received a quote for a long term fix to an ongoing issue with our over 75 yr old cast iron drain lines. Yes, it was considerably higher than I think it should be but that's likely due to gas prices, increasing wages and not enough young people wanting to earn a living crawling under old houses Thanks guys, you were my heros today!

Keep looking for a plumbing company. I can't trust this one.
This review ironically follows Rooter Hero's previous Yelp review from the original owner of the home my daughter recently purchased. Here is the rest of the story.
Rooter Hero installed a water heater about a year prior and the problems were apparent to me when looking at the house and presented the concerns to the buyer during the transaction.
And here they are, The temperature and pressure relief valve were not plumbed to code. The building code requires the line to be copper (it was plastic) and it must exit the building to prevent flooding and/or scalding of people and it did not. They did replace the plastic to copper, but Rooter Hero allowed the pipe to terminate in a drain pain that would have overflowed in seconds causing damage to this home as well as the one underneath it. This was unprofessional work and clearly not to code even after bringing it to their attention. The second issue was the vent ducting connecting to the water heater to the vent pipe. It wasn't secured with screws, it was didn't have the gentle upward arc to the vent pipe required to vent combustion gases safely. The pictures show the deficiencies clearly. The vent pipe actually dips downward. What is not visible in the picture was a tear resulting from the tight bends. This was a carbon monoxide source.
When I shared the pictures you see here with two contractors I have used in the past they both said this work was substandard and not to code. I took this information and spoke with Lawrence, the general manager who shared he doesn't know California building codes as he is from Canada and has only been working for Rooter Hero for 3 days. His defense was that the work was done and the customer was happy. I reminded him that the home owner is not a licensed plumber. I don't hold him responsible. He was not the professional here. I also spoke with Adam the plumber who insisted that the vent and the T&P lines were properly installed and to code, though he was willing to sell me a Watts 210 T&P valve that would solve the problem for an additional $1200. This was the correct remedy. The job should never have been sold as it was without the Watts 210. The job was sold out of compliance with building codes. Clearly he was aware of the correct methods but left the property in an unsafe condition. It was shared that the original plumber from Rooter Hero was fired for doing poor quality work, and Adam came in twice after. Rooter Hero was on site three times that I am aware of, and even after concerns were shared, left the home dangerous to life and property with measured high levels of carbon monoxide and a job that was not done to code.
I had the issues resolved by a licensed contractor. He was shocked when he measured the carbon monoxide prior to the repairs as well as the overall lack of professionalism of the work. So the former owner of the home gives Rooter Hero a great review because he was told that any deficiencies with the job were corrected. The owner was pleased that there was no charge, yet completely unaware that in reality, even after the replaced pipe, the 1. T&P line was still not to code. 2. The vent leaked carbon monoxide because it was not correctly installed. 3. No sediment trap for the gas line was installed and required by code and 4. No expansion tank was installed. Yet that customer thought he was well taken care of. Sorry, but the work was substandard and totally unprofessional. I would expect this kind of work from an unlicensed laborer. Rooter Hero had no business leaving the home in that condition.
I am speaking to you from the viewpoint of a parent whose daughter would have taken possession of a home that could have caused her illness or death even after Rooter Hero's was notified of the concerns.

I had Rooter Hero come out to replace the toilet wax seal last August and noticed it has a small leak so called them today. I was pleasantly surprised when they said they could send someone today! They sent Gabriel W. who replaced the leaking seal very quickly and efficiently. Also no charge it was still under warranty. Thank you Gabriel for your excellent customer service!

I had a major water leak with water going into the street. I called several plumbing companies. Some said much later today or tomorrow. Rooter Hero was very quick in response. Within an hour, they sent Bryan who fixed the problem. I will call Rooter Hero first when I again have a plumbing problem. Hopefully Bryan will the technical who is available to fix the problem.

This is a mixed review.
6 months ago we had a major sewer backup and after talking to a number of companies, contracted with Rooter Hero for major sewer work. At the time we were very satisfied, especially with the people who worked directly with us, Ben Hanen the supervisor, and Mike Sleeper, the technician.
Yesterday we had another sewer back-up in our basement shower. Around 8:15 I called the general number and was told by the person who answered that our call would be handled quickly, we'd be the next service call and that someone would call his within an hour or so to tell when they would be there. After 2 hours I called again not having received a call. I was put on hold & then told there had been an error and we would not be seen until late afternoon. I told her that wasn't acceptable and asked to speak to the supervisor. I believe his name was Dave. Dave agreed with me and told me he would call the local office and have someone call me back immediately. An hour later I called again. Dave was not in the office. The young man with whom I spoke assured me that they had called the local office but had not heard back from them. He said he'd call me back right away after he found out what was happening. Again, he didn't call. By this time we'd waited about 4 hours and still couldn't use bathrooms, water, etc. in the house. And no one from Rooter Hero had called us to let us know what was going on.

Fortunately I had Ben Hanen's card so called him. He looked into the situation and said a mistake had been made when I first called and instead of showing that I needed immediate help it was posted as needing service between 8 PM and 10PM. Ben called Mike, the technician, and within an hour Mike was at our home, cleaning out the backup.
Mike and Ben continue to show amazing customer service. They deserve an A+ rating. The saga isn't over, they are coming back tomorrow to see what caused the backup.

The same cannot be said for the call center. If they were the only people I dealt with within the company, this would be a 0 star rating. I will never call that number again. However, since Ben and Mike really performed above expectations, I'd call he company again, but not the general phone number. So, yes, I'm a fan, but wary of the organizational process.

Do not use this company!!! Unprofessional, high prices, shoddy work, damaged belongings, rescheduled 3x on 2 different days and still didn't show up, have inexperienced plumbers, bad customer service, take advantage of female/senior customers.

Also, they had the audacity to ask us to remove our one star review after they finally sent someone out to fix the problems. The only reason they came out is because we posted a negative review, otherwise they probably would have continued to no show as we had already paid the bill so we were no longer important customers.

I am the son of their client who had to come assist cleaning up the mess they left for my senior mother. I rescheduled my day 3x to try and be there when the replacement plumbers came to fix the original job to oversee them but they rescheduled 2x and no showed the third. Thanks for wasting my time!

$2500 for a water heater on Christmas Eve. Price: it is what it is, it's emergency service and they are up-charging; I get that. The job however, was done poorly. The plumber didn't know what he was doing. They left the water heater drain pan in a precarious position because they didn't center it and you couldn't even attach the gas line cover correctly which is dangerous. The exhaust heat vent wasn't installed properly either. They left my mom without hot water in her bathroom because she has a recirculating pump they refused to reinstall. The plumber they sent out said he had never seen one and didn't know how to do it. (It's literally on the model in Home Depot, very easy to install and a very common addition that should not be an up charge in my opinion as it would have only taken an additional 5 minutes to install). It wasn't part of the agreed upon service however so it would have been an additional fee. As a result the plumber didn't reinstall it and left it plugged in and running (wasting electricity) on my work bench. I found it almost a week later extremely hot to the touch with the motor most likely burnt out as I was out of town when this whole scenario occurred.

After being rescheduled twice and numerous phone calls to dispatchers who assured us someone was coming and we hadn't been cancelled on... they said they would send a sales rep to take a look to assess the work load to see how long it would take to fix... but that never happened either. They just didn't show up after assuring us somebody from the company would stop by. When the 2nd group of plumbers finally came the next day (after we wrote a bad review) to fix what had been done wrong on the first job they still wouldn't install the pump and recommended she schedule to have it installed but they wouldn't replace it even though it's likely burnt out (that's a $300 pump they ruined and refused to replace and told my mom to schedule and pay to reinstall a likely broken piece of equipment that they are responsible for breaking). On top of all this they asked us to take down our poor Yelp review, like seriously?!

Taking advantage of female/senior customers is a disgrace and I am very very disappointed by this company. We had used them 5-6 years prior to fix a clog and they pressured my mom (thank goodness I was there to tell her no) to replace our sewage pipes from the bathroom to the sidewalk for $7500 saying we needed to right away otherwise we would have a catastrophic sewage line failure... oh and they would have to tear up our newly renovated bathroom to perform the work which we would have to pay to have fixed again. Well it's been about 5-6 years and we have had no catastrophic sewage failure. This company tries to use scare tactics to upsell and take advantage. I truly hope this review saves someone from the experience I've had working with them.

Good luck! Avoid these guys at all cost, or it's going to cost you big time!

Called these guys for a clogged drain. When the guy pulled up the first thing out of his mouth was I need to use the camera to see what's going on because(we had the same drain cleaned 2yrs ago), if you had this done 2yrs ago it's going to happen again but I'll go ahead and shake it first. Well surprise surprise he couldn't get the snake through the pipe so he said he would get the camera, which he stated was free of charge, so he could see what was going on. Last time (2yrs)I had a plumber here for the same drain he said it was really hard because of the way the pipes turns, but he cleared it!
So Rooter Hero said he would have to bring back a camera the next day and see what was going on. The guy never showed so I called the company and they told me that he said the pipes were too small for the camera and that they would probably have to cut the pipe to look inside it. He also said that we said we couldn't pay for any repairs. WOW! We said we didn't have a lot of money and we were hoping it wasn't going to be expensive. So, what he said to us when he was here was not in his report, and what he put in his report was completely different from anything that was ever said to us. Don't even call this company. Doesn't seem honest at all.

What a fantastic company! My mother recently had water leak in her house from a tree damaging the pipes and we called this company to come out. From start to finish all the guys who worked on our plumbing did a fantastic job. They wore face masks, foot coverings and tried to limit coming into common areas. Everyone was extremely respectful of our property and such a pleasure to work with. Dylan, Gabe and Chris were so kind and helpful assisting my mom and not taking advantage of her. These guys definitely went over and beyond. You can trust this company with any of your plumbing needs.

Their prices at about 300$ an hour which is absolutely insane. Had a tub drain that needed to be removed in which a dog bone couldn't be used. They immediately recommended going in and sawing it out. They make reverse tools for this and would save them time and the consumer money. Technician had never seen the tool that I told and showed him that needed to be bought to make the work so much easier.

Unacceptable service! Day 1 of leak they didn't have a long or string enough snake, from what they said.... That night the house flooded and now I need new floors. Day 2 they said a tech would be out to hydro blast the pipe and insert a camera. They came with no camera, cleared the pipe from what they thought, over charged me and left. Day 3 camera guy was supposed to show up, no show. Day 4 camera guy supposed to show up, no show. Wife took a bath and house flooded again. Call them 2 times and talk to someone, they state that I would be 15-20 min. I'm on my 3rd call to them because I haven't had anyone call me back. This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with a company. On hold the message states that they want to make every opportunity to go above and beyond customer's expectations... that's a lie. I hope they can make it right but I have no faith in RooterHero.
Update: it's night of Day 4. Nobody is coming. Scheduled for tomorrow morning. We'll see how long they take. Update: Checked the BBB website. Has a D rating and 1.3/5 stars. Makes sense.

I live in a condo that is over 30 years old. Last week, a neighbor contacted Rooter Hero Plumbing because she had been experiencing gurgling in her kitchen pipes. The plumbers Omar and Josue spent several hours cleaning out the main drain line. I was so impressed with the work that they did in my neighbor's unit, I had them come in later and clean out my slow draining shower. They were personable and appeared to have knowledge of dealing with complex plumbing issues. Another plus was that they charged me about $50 less than another company that I had clean out my sink a couple of months ago.

So this is probably more a 4.5. In reading some of the reviews I'm gonna have to agree with most people that the communication could be better. A customer service rep contacted me after I made an inquiry and they told me a technician would come by between 2-2:30. Well 3:15 arrives and no technician. I gave them a call back and someone forgot to tell me that the technician was running late at another job and they would call me back when he's done and he apologized for the lack of communication... which I very much appreciated the apology. That's excellent customer service! So forward a couple hours later and the tech guy arrived and he was very nice, professional and courteous. His name was Daniel and I have to give me praise for his work and customer service. He fixed my slow drain for 77 bucks (which is a special they got going). Some places online quoted me for 79 or 129 dollars! So I'm glad I found this company. I will surely use them again for any plumbing needs that come my way!

I've had to call this company on 3 occasions for different issues and the service is excellent! The guys are professional and friendly. The last two times, Marco was the service man on call and he is awesome!!! Thorough, honest and diligent.
The price is what I was quoted and never the bait and switch game I've gotten before from other companies.

Great service. Woke up to a clogged Shower on a Saturday morning and was heading out for a day of soccer with the kids. Called Rooter Hero and had a great experience in getting a Service Technician to my home at a time that work for my family.

Morghon Liddell was assigned to my job and contacted me prior to his visit and was extremely professional. A great Technician and extremely professional and thorough in his job. He shared with me the special they had for clogged drains and immediately got to work. After a bit of pushing and pulling he was able to clean fix my problem and left my shower cleaner than when we have our weekly cleaning service.

I highly recommend these folks and have only great things to say about Morghan.

Don't hesitate to call these folks when the situation requires a quick call out.

Time for me to eat humble pie. I want to adjust my rating and explain why.
1the owner called me to understand why I was not a satisfied customer--a smart move (when I ran a business I always tried to deal with customers who were not completely satisfied, a lesson I learned decades ago from my small business owning father)
2he took the time to give me a quick plumbing 101 explanation
3he tracked down the work order, sent me pictures of my pipes and why they were causing trouble.
4he sounded logical but my skeptical self ran it by a friend who builds and fixes houses, asking if his BS detector went off. He confirmed owner's logic, although he said the prices was pretty high.
6talked to owner who explained price logic, but in the interest of customer good will he knocked off a couple of hundred.
Bottom Line: satisfactory work and good customer relations.

We own a preschool and all the toilets started backing up around 5:30 PM. I called 3 or 4 other companies and they all wanted to come out the following day around noon. We obviously could not wait. Rooter Hero came out in about 2 hours and I met him at the site. The technician was great and unclogged the main line, and the fee was only $77!
These guys are honest and do not try to trick you with a misleading price. and they did a good job. We will use them in all of our three preschool locations and recommend them to our clients as well!

I called Rooter Hero for routine maintenance- to have my sewer line snaked to the main. Ricardo and Christian came over in time and were polite. Unfortunately they couldn't find the clean out in the direction of the main so they couldn't do the work. They showed me on the camera what they meant and outlined a couple alternatives. So while I can't evaluate them on the quality of their work, I. Can say that they were definitely punctual and professional.

I am not happy. Had them out yesterday and they wanted to charge $1,900 to repair. It sounded like a lot and I called another plumber that I use sometimes. Instead of $1,900, the other plumber fixed it right away at a total cost of $150. Makes me angry when somebody tries to take advantage of me.

Started out great but turned into a bad joke. Kitchen sink got clogged on a Friday night. Went to their website and submitted an automated appointment request around 9 pm, got a call around 9:30 pm from a friendly lady. Set up an appointment for Saturday afternoon, no weekend upcharge. Great. Saturday appointment time came and went, no one showed up. I called and was told they had no record of me or my appointment. The guy I talked to was condescending and rude, cut me off several times and made it sound like this was my error. Finally agreed they'd send someone later that day, Saturday evening, no upcharge. Ok. Got a call later that afternoon that no technician is available and we'd have to do it Sunday morning. Sigh, ok. Set up the appointment for 11-1. Got a call at 8:30 am on Sunday that a technician is on the way. I said no, come back later as agreed. So at noon, I finally have someone at my house to clear the clog. Online price was $77. They said because they have to go through the P-trap, it will be $289. I sent them packing, called another company, and got the job done for half the price and a fraction of the hassle.

Great customer service. Called today to get my sink checked but was not expecting anyone to show up after 6pm. After 30 minutes, these guys showed up at my door. My sink was clogged and leaking water even when not in used. This issue was resolved same day with 90 days warranty. We initially tried to fix the clogged issue ourselves but this was more of a job for the professionals.

He was pleasant and professional and found the source of the leak I had in my front yard without any difficulty. He fixed the portion of the pipe that was broken and replaced it with new piping. Service is probably 3 1/2 stars. Pricing is no stars. I had a garbage disposal replaced for $585. They take advantage of their customers desire to have situations fixed as soon as possible. The technician told me as much when he presented the estimate.

If you Google garbage disposal repair costs, you can find a story about a woman who was charged less than I was complaining to the local news about how exorbitant the price was.

The garbage disposal cost about $115. If you crunch the numbers on the total cost it's disgusting. Between driving to Home Depot and installing the unit, the hourly cost of his time was probably $250+. There's no other way to describe that then taking advantage of a person in their time of need.

My experience with Rooter Hero was horrible. The tech, Gabe came to my house regarding a clog in my clean out pipes in my front lawn. I explained to him that my son dropped something in the clean-out pipe which is causing the clog. Rather than snaking the line, Gabe tells me that I needed to have the line hydro flushed. He explains to me that it would be $1,400 to have two guys flush water through the line. I told him thats insane because I believe it could be snaked. After I told Gabe no thanks, I called AOC and explained to their tech George what Gabe recommended and they agreed the situation could be resolved by snaking the pipe. After 1 hour and $275, George resolved the issue and got the clog and piece my son dropping in the pipe out. It was clean that Gabe was trying his hardest to upsell to cash in on my situation. SMH. I will never contact this company again.

I'm appalled by this companies business practices. My 98 year old grandfather was having trouble with a slow kitchen drain. Rooter Hero came out snaked his line came out told him his line was cracked and needed lined. They only told him the price after the job was done. They charged him nearly $9000 dollars to descale and coat about 20' of a 2 line!!! 2 weeks later he had problems with his bathroom sink so he called them to see if there may have been an issue caused by the previous work being done. Now rather than coming out and taking care or checking on the issue they told him it would need the same repair over the phone. Completely disgusted this is how they treat the elderly... I called after finding out about this to see if they would like to make things right and make an adjustment. The response was that he signed a contract and they felt there was no problem with how the job was handled. My grandfather is on a fixed budget and the way wipe out nearly half of his savings for repair of 20' of 2 line is absolutely unbelievable. I will be posting reviews absolutely anywhere possible in hopes of making sure such a thing doesn't happen to anyone else!

I had a major pipe leak in the crawl space under my house. The catastrophic leak had put 2000 gallons of water under the house, completed soaked the insulation and had wicked into the insulation up into the walls. Rooter Hero responded immediately and repaired the leak. They took out all the ruined insulation, the old copper pipes and installed all new pipes. To minimize the time we were without water they would show up at 7:30am and for two days did not leave until 1:30am. I can't say enough about the work ethic of Filipe and his coworkers. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

We had a terrible backup in our home on Sunday. Of course we tried to fix it ourselves but nothing was working. The backup when into the bathtub and shower, all over the floor, it was very unpleasant to say the least. With a little one in the home, we needed a fast fix. My husband called Rooter Hero and they sent Levi out within an hour. He was extremely friendly, open and honest. I felt like he was very straightforward and diagnosed the problem right away. Our problem was so bad (yuck!) that we needed an extra set of hands to fix the problem. Since it was late at night on a Sunday, Levi wasn't able to find anyone that night. He apologized profusely for any inconvenience and promised to be back first thing the next day with another person to help him.
He kept his promise, showed up a half hour early and cleared our issue very quickly! My husband even asked him if he could look at our leaky toilet. Levi went and got all of the materials and fixed that problem too!
I'm always scared to call professionals with the risk of being overcharged on a service. We 100% trusted Levi and he made us customers of his for life. We feel very confident in his work and knowledge and know exactly who to call if we ever have plumbing issues again!

My elderly mother called Rooter Hero because her garbage disposal was causing an electrical current in the kitchen sink. She had used Rooter Hero in the past for a clogged drain without issue. I called her the next day to see how much the quote was and she told me she was having trouble signing the E-Document for the $42,000.00 loan she needed to do the re-pipe Rooter Hero had advised her she needed and had already started work on even though the loan had not even been signed! I guess Rooter Hero was not worried about the loan since they had generously (sarc) referred her to a predatory lender who does loans attached to property tax bills at horrible rates. Since my mother could not give me any details about what she was paying for or any details on the loan I called Rooter Hero and the lender immediately. I spoke with the job supervisor from Rooter Hero and explained to him that my mother did not understand what she was paying for and had felt confused when signing the estimate for work that she was informed was the ONLY OPTION. I told the supervisor that my parents live off social security and could not afford this amount of work and asked if there was a less expensive option, the only offer I got was a $3000.00 reduction if they didn't tear up the sidewalk to reach the city connection. My mother called and cancelled this $42,000.00 work order the next day, at some point during the day a technician from rooter hero and the supervisor I had spoken to came to my parent's home and had my mother sign an invoice for roughly $3500.00 for work performed which included disconnecting a garbage disposal, digging up a pipe and inspecting under the house. In the last 4 days 3 other plumbing companies have come out to give estimates for everything including a re-pipe they have ranged from $7,800-$14,000. They have all offered several levels of repair work in stages, at costs that don't require loan paperwork, apparently there are OTHER OPTIONS! All 3 companies also called the amount of work Rooter Hero did for $3500 a joke/rip-off etc. These 3 other companies are all 4-5 star rated on Yelp. Rooter Hero Co-Owner Michael West runs ad's on the radio, he basically talks about their honest work ethic and family values the entire time, what a load!!!!! So much for that 100% satisfaction guarantee! Shameful business practices!

I called Rooter hero plumbing and asked for a quote to unclog my drains. I was told a plumber would be sent out and they would give me a quote once they inspected the problem. The guy that came quoted me $77.00 to snake my drains, he said, I could pay $150.00 if I wanted a warranty and if he had to do anything else, however, he was sure the snake would clear my drains. So......the snake didn't clear the drains, but if I would agree to pay him $127.00 (which he said was a discount) instead of the $150.00 he would open the pipes and get the drains cleared. He finished and told me he put some kind of tape to help hold the plastic pipes under my bathroom sink for a while and that I should get a more expensive pipe because they were better. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my pipes before this visit, no leaking of any kind. I called the company and spoke with Michelle and asked her to make a notation and put this info in my file....in case my bathroom starts leaking. I really don't like the up sales that these companies do to charge you more money.

The 1 STAR is for pricing and not work performed.
I Had Rooter over to quote me a price on installing 2 angle stops (aka shut off valves) for my bathroom sink, raise the shower head one foot, replace a drain and overflow pipes and install a tub and install a new temperatures valve. The bathroom has been demolished to the studs and the vanity is also demolished so access to all pipes and fixtures are easy to get to.
After I explained what I needed, the representative kept telling me how large the job was, that there would be a lot of soldering and how extensive the work and that they would have to cut a hole in the wall and create an access panel (going into the next room) behind the bathtub.
I asked how much and he said he was not authorized to give me a quote but would have to consult with his office who would provide a quote. He and his associate spent 15 minutes outside next to their van speaking with their office. I finally went out and asked how long it would take. He said they were done and he then showed me a detailed quote for each specific project. The total came to over $2,600. This quote was up to 10 times more than one of the three other estimates from licensed plumbers I received.
Plus Rooter have a 10 page contract to sign. I was not aware plumbers required contracts for small jobs such as this one. The contract resembled ones I have seen when doing home additions and large paver jobs. The quote was very high and he kept telling me how big the job was, and how much work was involved. He was preparing me for the Ranch Santa Fe price instead of a reasonable price.
DO THE HOMEWORK and get at least 4 quotes. You'll be surprised how much you can save.

UPDATE

Work performed today, 1/29/16, by another licensed plumber took in 3 1/2 hours.

If I divide $2,600 by 3.5 I get $742 per hour for plumbing work that Rooter was quoting.

Ps; I supplied all parts and fixtures except the 2 feet of 1 copper pipe, flux, solder and propane.

Received call from Rooter wanted to speak to me about the review. I told him that my review was on point and agreed with him that my review was on pricing and not quality of work performed. The caller (do not remember name) also said that the 10 page contract was required to be provided for all jobs and if I did not get a contract from the other plumbers then they were not doing their job. I learned something here. He said that the pricing given to me by his employees was not accurate as it did not reflect discounts given with each added job. He said that the men that came over were only quoting by each task and not by a group of tasks.

ADDITION 2/3/16 - even though the man sent to my home to scope the job was new, there was a supervisor with him who should have caught the error. OR the people in the office that the plumber said he was speaking to who provided him the prices should also have noted the errors. Regardless, there were enough fingers in the pot that someone should have seen the wrong prices being quoted to me. How is the average person not familiar with plumbing costs to know when they are being quoted ridiculous prices. END ADDITION 2/3/16.

He did not say how much lower the quote would have been if a group quote was given.

My Saga started four days prior to writing this review with a back up a brown water into showers and tubs and toilets that were flushing well. My regular plumber was able to find an obstruction at about 73 feet from the access point on the back of my house. He advised getting a plumber that would come with a 100 or 150 foot snake. I contacted Rooterhero and said to their staff do not send somebody to the house without a 100 or 150 foot snake. They showed up with a large van and two staffWho did not have a snake with them and proposed a $1300 Hydro flush.. My basic plumber said Hydro flush is absolutely not needed for this type of house and for the problem and obstruction that I had. This is clearly an up charge and I'll put it in a four letter word scam SCAM

We hired this company to come fix leaks, they came and inspected everything and said $4,000.00 for small leak by water meter, change kitchen faucet, change bathtub fixture and they said they had to open the wall and tile, and change toilet ring. My granddaughter said no to high, so they said $1,500.00. I told her ok because she lives there I'm in Highland Ca. Then I was thing why does he have to open the wall. He did the leak, the faucet and I told my granddaughter tell him we will fix the wall he opens up and tile. So he then after she tells him says well we don't have to open it we can do it another way. I thought it funny now that we are fixing it he doesn't have to do it. So he did tub and kitchen I know he seen the water goes down good and nothing was backing up, people where there using restroom. Well he went to change the toilet ring and its night. I get a phone call saying my plumber put a camera down your sewer line and you have a rusted out and collapsed line and the pipes need to be replaced it will cost $9,000.00. I knew there was nothing wrong with my toilets and my pipes are fine, I was thinking if he did he broke something with that camera. I said no and he said well $4,000.00 I said no again he kept trying push it telling me about a program San Diego has to give loans. I said no and he said well I need another $400.00 more for cleanout. I said no again. There's no way in the world 2 toilets working fine when he goes in there all of a sudden clog and nothing backing up anywhere people had been using it. So they tried to get me to pay and give my CC over the phone and I said no send bill I will pay, they kept trying to get the money right then. Finally my husband came on and told them no send bill Ill send a check. Well a while after they where gone my granddaughter calls and says, grandma neither toilet is working at all but all the drains are working fine. I told her ya they where trying to rip us off. So I called the office told them and they said the Manager would call me back. Well I never heard from anyone. The plumber name was Terry Gillum or something like that I don't know the managers name.. so I told my granddaughter they weren't calling back because they got busted trying to rip us off so call another company. Well another plumber comes $345.00 and check the line and says (What I knew already) there is nothing wrong with any of your pipes, they are not rusted out or collapsed the only thing I see are what looks like paper towels. So he easily fixed that and everything was fine. I want Rooter Hero to pay for the cost of the plumber since they are the one who clogged it trying to commit fraud, unethical practices, the senior discount they said I would get, and reimburse some of the $1,500.00 I paid them. They never changed any toilet ring, they never opened the wall, they inconvenienced my granddaughter and for never answering me. Total disregard, and they say on their website integrity. I looked up this company at various places and found they had did the same thing to others and got caught. I wonder how many people didn't catch them. I want everyone to know Beware. I will be reporting this to every organization I can to stop people who think they can get away with this type practice. You might try apologizing also! I own a business and would never even think of scamming someone, shows just how much you care about your customers!

A new washing machine was delivered and when the hot and cold water lines were turned - water came running out of one. So, washer was left and the hot and cold water valve needed repaired. After trying to fix it, the job seemed a but of a worry and I called Plumber Pros. They connected me with Rooter Hero and Aaron came out at 6:45 on SATURDAY evening. He was a life saver as we had turned the water off and needed the washer hookup fixed and new washer set up. Aaron was extremely nice and did the job for us. Got a new water heater installed from them in 2018. Really nice technician that worked with me. But that's not what prompted me to send a positive review here.
I'm selling my condo at this time and the inspection report came back with the TPR valve pipe not being to code. The material is PVC and should be copper.
Of course I call the same company that installed it in the first place. Technician (Adam-also very friendly) examined it and agreed that it's not to code. I let them know what my stance on this was which was, hey, I would have thought that this would've been done in the beginning. had I known better I would have paid whatever the price for the proper valve tubing
Adam called the Main Manager, Jim to discuss the situation and my feelings abou this. By the way, it was with understanding and compassion that Adam went about this....(this goes a long way with ANY business).
Jim and Adam spoke on speaker (per Adam's suggestion) while I was there and...well, long story short...Jim with no hesitation said let's make it right for this customer and replace this with copper at no charge.

No battle. No push-back. Just understanding the situation and doing the right thing.

For this, I will remain a customer for good.

Rooter Hero Plumbing is the worst plumbing company I have ever dealt with. Last Friday late in the afternoon I discovered that i had a large problem. My toilets wouldn't flush and there was a back up of dirty water in the guest bathroom tub. I had a coupon for this company and I thought it would be best to call them since they seemed to be good for clearing out pipes. What a mistake. I called and a nice young man named Josue arrived around six in the evening. I have two areas on the front patio where you can get through to the sewer pipes to clean them out and remove the obstruction. Josue tried both areas and could not get through the obstruction. I have a large pine tree down near the street and the pipes are in that area so it make sense that the obstruction would be roots. Josue called his boss and the man came out and they talked down by the truck which was parked in the street. I didn't what was said but his boss left and Josue told me they could get rid of the obstruction by a machine I believed he called a jetter and this machine would clean up the pipe completely. He said that would cost one thousand three hundred dollars. I blinked and said I could not pay that much. So he called his boss and I got on the phone and he asked me how much could I pay. I didn't know what to say but I needed something done cause I couldn't use any water and of course I couldn't use the toilets. So I said I could pay 9 hundred dollars. The boss agreed and Josue left and came back with this machine. He turned it on and inserted the tubing into the pipe. It didn't take long when he removed it. I was paying with a credit card. I signed some papers that were on an I Pad and Josue and said he'd be back tomorrow to look with the camera to see if the obstruction was gone since the jetter was supposed to take care it. Both Josue and his boss came back on Saturday to see if all was well and when they used the camera they saw roots all around the pipe. So the boss told me if I wanted them to get rid of the roots, and he also said the pipe needed to be replaced in that area, then that would cost three thousand 8 hundred dollars but he would credit me with the 9 hundred dollars I paid for the jetter use on Saturday. So I would just have to pay 2 thousand and 9 hundred dollars. At that point I was very suspicious about what was going on here. Also I had not been given a receipt for the work that had been done on Friday. I had called the office Saturday about not getting the receipt. The person I talked to said they didn't have my email address. So I finally got the receipt on Sunday. The receipt had on it that the Description of the work was and I quote what is written. Rooter hero will hydro scrub mainline in order to clear obstruction after clearing obstruction rooter Hero will perform camera inspection in order to see cause of obstruction and determine on warranty of jetter. The boss gave me till Sunday to make up my mind after that time he said he would not be able to give me the $900 credit discount. At that point I knew this man would not get another penny from me and I would let YELP know what kind of business this is. They
seem to do part of the job then tell the customer that they need to do more to finish the work and then of course that costs more but they will give you a discount of what you have given them but they make a big profit. Their Jetter could have finished the job of getting rid of the roots.
On Sunday I called another plumbing company and they came out today, Monday, and they used their camera and showed me what they were seeing with the camera were two areas of roots that were obstructing the flow. Then they inserted their Jetter and it completely cleaned away all the roots and now I have no obstructions on my sewer pipes and there was nothing broken or wrong with my pipe going to the sewer in the street. The company that really finished the job for me that came out today saved me over 2 thousand plus dollars. I hope I saved other people money with this review. The only reason I gave this company one star was because Josue really tried to get the pipe cleared
on Friday and seemed sorry that he had to use Jetter.

This is a review for Jose Godinez and his co-workers, Omar and George, of Rooter Hero in San Diego. I don't often write reviews, but my wife and I have been so pleased with the service we received in May 2018 that I feel I need to let others know.

We first contacted Rooter Hero for a water heater tune-up special they were running, but by the time we had scheduled for them to come, we had a clogged kitchen drain. They sent us Jose, and he quickly made a good impression. He not only got right down to work and showed obvious expertise at his craft, but he was very polite and personable as well. He took the time to answer all of our questions, and he also scored big points by offering to wear paper booties over his shoes when he saw that we were in socks.

Jose worked extremely hard in an attempt to resolve the clogged pipe, but he was unable to despite his best efforts, so he called George to come out at no cost to inspect the pipe with a camera. We watched together as the camera showed us our worst nightmare: the cast iron pipes at our 57-year-old home were so corroded and brittle that some sections had narrowed to a diameter of less than an inch and there were pieces missing in other places.

First, we decided to replace just the pipes from the kitchen to the main sewer line, but after using the camera on the bathroom and the main line, it became obvious that we bigger problems. Now, we are not wealthy, and we were very apprehensive about taking on another big debt. But Omar came out and worked with us to get us a price we could live with, and we were able to repipe the whole house. We ended up getting a personal loan from a bank, but it was good to know that financing was available through Rooter Hero if we had needed it.

Work began immediately, and there were of course some inconveniences that come with any project like this -- especially since we only have one bathroom -- but Jose always kept us updated on what was going on, and he went to great lengths to ensure we could always at least use the toilet and one sink in the evening. He and his team also temporarily replanted some flowers we had in front of the house and moved them back after they were done. In addition, they always laid paper down to protect our hardwood floors, and they cleaned everything up each night before going home. They used top-notch materials and gave us a 10-year transferable guarantee on the work, and we are confident the finished product is something that will last well beyond that.

I have had various plumbers work on our house over the years, and I can say without a doubt that Jose, George, and Omar at Rooter Hero were by far the best. They not only did excellent work at a price I later learned was about half what some other outfits charge, but they were consummate professionals and genuinely nice guys. I don't expect to have any future plumbing issues (unless I cause them), but I would not hesitate to call Rooter Hero if I did.

Luis came out to my (very old) house that has numerous plumbing issues to give a free estimate. I never expected him to do as thorough of an inspection as he did. He assessed the entire structure and plumbing system, including going into the crawl space (which other companies charge you for.) I saw this company truck outside my work and I spoke with the plumber Aaron regarding my house. I could not believe the driver was at my house in 15 mins. He unclogged 2 drains upstairs and 1 drain down stairs. He then took time to explain to my wife everything he had done. He was very professional and had amazing customer service. Although it looks like they have a good yelp rating, they actually have a ton of 1 star reviews. Hesitant to even call them because of this, I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked if someone could come over to fix a clog. I gave all of my information and they said their technician would call me to schedule a time to come out that day. Fast forward a full 24 hours and I have not received a phone call, no one ever showed up, and I have not had a follow up from them. Radio silence. If they're this poor on trying to get my business I can only imagine the service once they actually have my business.

I highly recommend Max and Rooter Hero! They sent Max out to estimate my dishwasher and water filter installation the same day on a Saturday afternoon. He was very friendly, and he gave a fair price compared to other offers. These guys truly went above and beyond!! We had a serious problem with roots growing in our pipes and were suddenly unable to use any of our plumbing. It was really bad! They spent several hours trying to get through the roots to at least get us some water flow, but the roots were too thick. They were very upfront and showed us pictures and video of all issues. There is no doubt that we had a serious problem. Unfortunately, the original plumbing was not up to code and allowed the roots to invade. Ben and Mike showed us the materials that were used, and the materials that should have been used which I really appreciated. They were very knowledable, without any type of the sales pitch stuff they makes it hard to trust contractors. They know their stuff!! They brought out a wonderful crew of guys - Ben, Mike, Mike and Brian. These guys worked their butts off!!! This job could have easlily taken a few days since the front yard needed to be dug up, but they somehow made it happen in one day. And we really appreciated how courteous, professional and considerate that each of their employees were. Just a great company to work with!!!!!!!

Had to replace my 90-year old cast iron sewer in my crawl space. They bid the job and got into a few unforeseen challenges that cost them more time and effort, but they never asked for a change order from me. They never complained.

Foreman Omar Navarrete was pleasant and responsive to my text messages, worked Saturdays and Sundays, and wasn't satisfied till the job was done right.

Never a good time for plumbing problems, but we also had house guests. Called the day after Thanksgiving for a clogged drain, they scheduled an appointment within 3 hours of my call and then showed up early! Great communication from the company and called to give me the technicians name. Jose Godinez, was polite, knowledgeable, ensured he was neat and tidy while snaking the drain, then cleaned up nicely afterwards. He saved the day! This morning, I started to wash a load of clothes and the drain pipe began to flood the kitchen. It took a while to turn it off and I tried to unplug it myself but had no luck. Three other plumbers couldn't come out today which is August 22, 2021. Rooter Hero Plumbing San Diego scheduled an appointment for 3-5. I waited all day and no one showed up. Guess they had a bigger job that was more important. Here is the text I received:

Really good service at a reasonable price.

Our kitchen drain line slowed down on a Sunday. We had a card from Rooter Hero offering one line cleared for $77. We called Rooter Hero mid-morning on Monday knowing that getting someone out would be difficult. The dispatcher kept me informed and about 2:00 said a technician would be out within 30 minutes. Josue asked many good questions about our house and the history of the drain pipes. He unloaded the heavy duty snake to go after the long and plug-prone 2 line. He located the problem about 30 feet down the pipe and was able to clear the blockage.

Andres was the plumber who showed up today and he was very polite, sharp uniform and had all his tools and supplies ready to tackle my plumbing issue, I was impressed. He came into my home and made sure to wear protective coverings on his boots at all times without even being asked which I was most appreciative of. He came in diagnosed the problem and made sure that he did not leave until he tested everything to ensure I would not have anymore issues with the plumbing. These guys came out to inspect my toilet line that wouldn't drain. All they did was a visual inspection and then proceeded to tell me the only fix was replacing the pipes. They gave a quote at $19, 000. I had Roto-Rooter out of vista come out the next morning. They actually tested the line with water and eventually cleared it up. If you want work done, call Roto-Rooter. They actually try to fix the issue.

I honestly have no idea how these guys have such a high yelp rating. I would never in a million years recommend them and I can't even review their service because they bailed on us FOUR DAYS IN A ROW. Called on Tuesday to schedule a service on my kitchen sink. They said they'd come Wednesday between 6:30-8:30. Towards the end of that window they called to cancel, but with the promise that we would be first in line the next day. Thursday comes and goes with them AGAIN cancelling, giving us the same song and dance about Friday. Well guess what, around 7:45 we called them to figure out what was going on and we're told that they were about to finish the job they were on and that we were the next customer. Then silence. Around 9pm they finally called to say they had 'car trouble.' sure. Whatever. We're scheduled again to be the VERY FIRST appointment on Saturday morning, with a window of 9-11am. What a joke. At 11 without a peep from this company we called another roto rooter who was at our apartment within 3 hours and provided excellent service. Thanks for nothing Rooter Hero. What a bunch of bozos.

I called Rooter Hero who would not give an estimate over the phone for a new garbage disposal install. Instead they said they offer free estimates on site. They came and quoted $585 for a garbage disposal and said that's the going rate. Well, I manage all of our rentals and have replaced many garbage disposals. I called 211 Drains and Alex quoted me $235. Alex came and did the job as quoted. He called my tenants on the way as I asked him and followed up with photos. Alex was professional and did a great job for less than half the price!! Thank you Alex!

Rooter Hero Plumbing did a great job for me when I needed a drain cleared. The two technicians arrived quickly, and were honest about what I needed and were both friendly. My job ended up being a complicated fix, and they worked on it for over two hours. During the work, they needed a part, so ended up having to drive to the nearest hardware store and then coming back. No additional charges.

I've had mixed luck in the past when hiring plumbers. Rooter Hero guarantees their work for 30 days. This means that if you're drain becomes plugged again within a month, they'll return and clean it out on their own dime. That's reassuring.

I will hire Rooter Hero again, for sure.

First, let me say that if any plumbing companies need a couple of great employees, Jose and Luis are worth trying to hire away from this company. I have nothing but great things to say about their efforts and results. Pricing seemed to be fair and my problems come with the company and the care and maintenance of their equipment.
It began with a drain blockage that couldn't be opened with the normal snakes on the truck. I agreed to use of the 'jet' snake that was delivered the next day but did not work. Seems the nozzle was plugged and the tool for clearing it could not be found. Next was the camera needed to locate the problem found my aged cast iron main line had collapsed. The video camera sensor that would have allowed the location of the blockage to be marked above ground malfunctioned. Returned the next day. Jose proceeded, for the most part alone, to dig both holes that needed to be created to pull 50' of new replacement drain line thru the old line. Thought that was it? They got the pipe ready to pull, brought out the machine that pulls the new line thru, and the locking mechanism had been taken home with the usual operator and an employee had to be sent to LA to grab another. The next day the employee who had mistakenly taken Home the needed piece arrived with apologies. The pipe got pulled, connected and Jose filled the holes and put the property back to the original condition.
With that background here is a quick synopsis: employees were excellent; pricing was fair (they waived the fees for drain clean, jetting and camera and charged me for the major replacement work); a company MUST take care of its tools. They are in constant use but without the proper maintenance the customer and the technician suffer. I had expected at some point to get a call from a higher management person to apologize for the delays but it never happened. I did in fact do this by sending RH my son-in-laws mom for a job that brought them many, many dollars. Yes , she did tell them I was the one who'd referred her. Job completed, payment processed and my inquiries unanswered-oh, except for one email from a customer service person stating they'd get right back to me. LOL.

I use to love Rooter Hero because they did a great job on clearing my main line when I had a clog a few years back.
Christmas Eve my kitchen and washer where backed up and I called them to come and snake the line. They were unable to clear the line and actually broke my cast iron pipes and the technician even noticed a gritty substance on his snake but they never told me and just left after saying they could not completely clear the drain line. This caused a leak under my house and I didn't know about it until New Years when I heard it pouring out of my foundation. I called the supervisor and he came to look at the issue and quoted me for $17,000.00 to re-route the lines through my garage, out my front yard to my main.
I called another company and got a second opinion which came out to be $8,500.00 for the exact same work. Saved me thousands of dollars!!!

Friday night our kitchen sink drain clogged, we didn't want to go the whole weekend without using the sink so I started my search contacting the companies with 4 or more stars. NONE of them would come out the same night for various reasons (busy, no available techs, won't service because we live in a three story house...)
I finally got through to Rooter Hero Plumbing. They immediately set up an appointment the same night and the plumber worked on the clog until he was able to clear it. The price was reasonable considering it was a Friday night and the service was outstanding.
I will no long search by high star ratings!!!!!!!

Service and quality of work was so bad I had to insist on getting a a full refund I had a slab leak back in April. I called around and Rooter Hero were the ones to answer the call. I walked with the tech and explained to him the items that need to be done
1. The outside water meter
2. Detect and repair the slab leak in and around the hallway and master bedroom
Total cost $3100. Plus 275 for the leak detection guy.
I explained to the tech and the detection company where the water damage areas were at. After some quick scanning they came to the conclusion it was a area in the master bedroom. Long story short the leak was not fixed properly, nor was the water meter when I was told it was . This was upsetting and when I brought it to the techs attention he started with the lies that it was not part of the work then his insults came next.
The area that was worked on , started leaking water again in a couple of weeks, The tech was so not ready for the job, I had to lend him the use of my wet and dry vac and shovel, Which were returned crusty with cement and residue. Later I found out he cleaned his buckets of cement and rinsed them off over my flower bed smh.
The tech cemented the hole he made before checking the problem areas and that was a bad call cause the hall way bathroom area still was leaking. The leak detection company was never called to check on the work nor did the field supervisor check on his tech nor did anyone ask me if I had any concerns .
After the mess, I was given a apology by management and they came out the next day to fix the water meter but that was it!! I was told it would $3,100 to fix the hallway leak and or $ 12,000 to do the Repipe. ( just the hot water ) I was blown away by the lack of service , integrity and workmanship. I said no. Like I said before a couple of weeks later the area that was fixed began to leak again. Of course they came out and of course they offered to finally try to make things some what better. No thanks a little to late I asked for a refund and walked away from this plumbing company

UPDATED REVIEW: On 1/7/22, two men arrived to fix the original job. One man was the person who did the original installation (he was a junior employee accompanied by a more experienced plumber this time). Without turning off the water heater, they managed to scooch the drip pan into the proper alignment so the electrical panel could actually be attached properly instead of precariously resting in place. They attached the pins on the top of the water heater to the vent discharge pipe, which had been left unsecured originally. Essentially, they corrected what was done wrong the first time, so I was pleased with their second service. But it took multiple phone calls and a bad Yelp review for someone to get in touch and schedule a repair job that did not get canceled.

ORIGINAL 1-STAR REVIEW: STAY AWAY from Rooter Hero. We had a leaking water heater replaced on Christmas Eve (12/24/21), and it was difficult to find an available plumber. We felt lucky that Rooter Hero was able to send a plumber, however, the installation of the new water heater was sloppy, and our hot water circulator is likely ruined. We paid $2,500 for a crappy job. After Christmas, we contacted Rooter Hero to send someone to inspect and fix the sloppy job. They have canceled on us twice this week due to scheduling conflicts and no staff available. Now, I don't doubt they have a staffing problem, however, for them to cancel two appointments sure seems like they are prioritizing new (paying) customers over a previous customer that got screwed over. We are tired of making dozens of calls to get this situation rectified. I will update my review if Rooter Hero ever bothers to send someone to fix the sloppy setup.

I had a disposal on a Saturday in the middle of cleaning my kitchen and thought it would be a nightmare weekend.

Aaron came out within the hour and even noticed a loose faucet that was leaking and causing mold to grow! He fixed the leak temporarily for no charge and wrote a list of to-dos for my property manager to check out.

I really appreciate him going the extra mile. I didn't want to be a bother so I said he didn't have to worry about patching the leak and that I could have the property manager look into it later. Aaron suggested patching it quickly for free, explaining that even a little mold under the sink can make you sick.

Company was very professional using cameras to diagnose problem. BE WARY OF THIS BUSINESS! I had a slow kitchen drain that finally backed up when I ran a load of laundry. So I did a search of plumbers and called Rooter Hero because of their 4-stars on yelp and because they offered to clear my drain for $77, guaranteed. Unfortunately, Chris, the technician arrived was not able to clear the drain. And called his manager who worked up an estimate for what needed to be done. The manager said that someone built my drain all wrong and that it was going to cost $1175 to put in a clean out and clear the drain. And if that didn't work they could use a camera for another $275. I am familiar with the cost of plumbing material and knew the quote was almost 10 times the actual cost for the repair. So, I told them that was not happening and Chris could leave.

Hello everyone.

I called Roto Hero for service from their ad on Craigslist. I was told they would have a technician come out from 10-1pm. I get a text saying technician will be at my home in 20 minutes, and am I ok with that. I text back Yes. 3 hours later, no technician. I text the service number 4 times where is the technician?. They called back and said 6pm. Technician arrives at 7pm.

All I wanted was to have my water heater moved 1 foot to the right, and off the ground and placed back on the pedestal. The tech gives me a for $1250. I immediately told that tech to i had other companies quote me $300.

Watch out for this company.

I ended up doing the work and no way it's a $1250 job. At the most you should pay is $350-400.i

I was told on day one that he would camera the pipes but on day two he said no that cost a lot and its a different truck and he is not allowed to do that.

He was here about 1/2 hour to flush the pipes.

I called twice and plan on calling a different number because the girl that answers the phone in San Diego doesn't seem to really care.

After posting this review I was contacted by the company. I guess it took a bad review. I updated it to 3 stars for the fact that they responded. Although the answer was that's just what we charge. Pretty lame. But at least they responded. They did not explain the POTENTAIL 68.37 discount. Which I did not receive.

Chad was amazing very professional and friendly. I don't think I've had a more pleasant plumbing experience than I did when Chad came to my house to inspect and recommend repair.

So to the story, there was a puddle developing on the side of my garage from what looks like a leak coming from nowhere to tell. He went on to inspect the leak and did some assessments. Turn out I don't have vapor barrier and water goes inside my garage and make a puddle inside. It took him less than 5 minutes to determine the leak.

As he proceeds he recommended many ways to fix my problem from the most costly but will last a lifetime of protection or the less expensive but may have to do maintenance every 5 years. I insisted on paying him for his advice but he said he couldn't justify getting paid for sharing his humble opinion or consultation. He said it was not necessary. If it were another plumber, i don't know how much they would have charged. I have yet to decide where to go with my problem but with Chad help at least I know and have a peace of mind that it won't cost me an arm and a leg to get his fix.

I don't think you get that kind of service anymore nowadays.

Our Technician was Michael Sleeper. He was called for an emergency repair of a burst pipe. He came over quickly which I appreciated. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, approachable and extremely focused on finding the solution to the problem. He was upfront honest and really cares about the customer. Today we had what we believed to be a leak under the kitchen sink and a leaking shower. My husband is not very good with fixing things; so we googled this company and were satisfied that they were willing to come within hours to fix it. Mike Demetri, he walked in took a look at the issue and fixed both problems within 5 minutes and refused to charge use because he said, it was a easy fix. We were sooooooo thankful because Lord knows I need my kitchen sink efficiently working at all times. I'm so use to companies trying to take advantage of the situation, I just knew that was going to be at least a $100 fix or service charge for coming. But praise God and thank you Mark Demetri.

Exceeded my expectations at every turn...and there were many.

I was not very happy when the cast iron pipes, in my circa 1959 home, picked 6am on a Sunday morning to decide they wanted to finally kick the proverbial bucket. I was even less enraptured by the fact that the guys that I used to remodel my home, and have known for years, were not available. I was desperate to get someone to the house because we had the in-laws visiting and we had raw sewage coming up from the showers and toilets....YIPPPEEEE!!!

So I did what any one would do, I Googled plumbers in Carlsbad and got engaged with the first company that could get to my house. ROOTER HERO.

I was immediately impressed with the response that the call center provided and they had Kenneth Showers at my house in what seemed like minutes. Kenny listened to me explain all of the issues that we had with our plumbing and we have been dealing with this problem for years. He got right to work and we immediately had our first of many problems with my lovely plumbing. I wont go into every problem, but at the end of the day all of the drain lines in our house ended up needing to be replaced and the bill was more than I wanted to contemplate. Kenny did an amazing job working around our personal schedules throughout the entire project and ensured that we had one working bathroom every night, and I know that it was a pain in the butt for him to do each day.

In addition to Kenny, I have to give a TON of kudos to Ben Chanel, Kenny's supervisor. He handled all of the communications with the insurance company and was able to get us 80% of the project cost back because they did such a good job documenting and explaining everything to the insurance adjuster when he came to inspect the work.

In closing, I wanted to add that I have been working in commercial plumbing for years so I have a very hyper-critical eye when it comes to work and ethics and the most impressive part of this whole endeavor, was that when the project was done and we all realized that there was an error that was made, Kenny stepped up and fixed the issue. I cannot say enough nice things about Rooter Hero as a company, but more importantly I could never thank Kenny and Ben, enough, for their hard work and dedication through what has been a trying and difficult project. They exceed my, extremely high, expectations, and are to be commended for their professionalism and work ethics.

I had service done at my house in December with no resolution, after contacting the city in May, after going back and forth with your company, the city informed that YOUR company never submitted a report nor the USB drive to show my lateral was offset and that you NEVER submitted a claim from my address to the city. The city came out to fix the situation in 3 days and stated that if your company would have notified them back in December, the situation would have been resolved then. Due to your failure to notify the city and leading me on that you were handling the issue at hand, I have LOST thousands of dollars in rental income due to your companies failure to do what I PAID FOR. Either you can make this right, or I will be contacting the BBB and hiring a lawyer for loss of rental income, loss of use on my property and for what I paid your company. I also paid more for a service than any other person. I noticed that on your yelp reviews that I was charged more than others, double in some situations.

Every time I call Rooter hero they show up and fix the problem.

Today the day before Thanksgiving the toilet backed up AGAIN . it happens about every 6 months because of a bad sewer design.
Today TonyFlores showed up in 98 degree weather and snaked the sewer line and checked to make sure there were no issues with the toilet. He is such a nice guy so pleasant and helpful .I will cal Tony Flores from now on !

Don't call! Had roots clogging our toilet so I saw their cheap coupons and called. their answering team does not relay needed information to the technicians. Two technicians came out, said it was BAD and I needed a manager tomorrow. I scheduled 10-12, was told they would call back (they didn't) and the manager showed at 7-9am. Told me we needed xray so call another company and left me a bid for over $3000 to jackhammer the foundation, replace pipes because of the 90 degree angle. Several calls to other plumbers I decided to grab the roots and see what happens. They all came out in my hand. It doesn't even need a snake!

I called rooter hero for a stopped toiletdrain. The techs that came out were polite,knowledgable and were very honest. After a couple of hours they discovered roots in the toilet drain. I hired them to fix the problem.
They had to jackhammer the area around the toilet to expose the pipe, which when was exposed the roots.
Anthony Ford was the one who kept me informed every step of the way. I had asked that he take pictures as they proceeded thru the repair.
The only problem was the length of time to complete the repair which was not Anthony's fault. The van they were in did not have the ne cessary supplies to complete the repair and they had to go several times to Home Depot for needed parts. Other than that, I completely satisfied.

10/10. Highly Recommend! From initial phone call to end of the job, Rooter Hero was the prime example of how a company should conduct business. After placing a short phone call the dispatch center promised my technician on site within 30 mins! Mason showed up in a clean, professional uniform and took all the necessary precautions to keep my house clean during his inspection. He was friendly, knowledgeable and transparent the entire time. After diagnosing the problem he actually called his supervisor for a second opinion because he wanted to make sure he got it right. Shortly after another gentleman came to the house in the same clean, professional uniform and concurred with Masons expert opinion. My sewer drains were full of roots, he suggested I hydroblast the lines to ensure a clean line would result and all the blockage would be removed. Almost 75 feet of pipe was completely blocked and they mentioned that simply snaking the line would clean it out and I ran the risk of damaging the old clay pipes. They showed me everything with a complimentary camera inspection and ensured me that the hydro was the best option. After a timely repair my pipes are clean as ever and water is running smoothly out of the house. Mason and his team at Rooter Hero set the standard for business practice, especially in a dirty job like plumbing. I couldn't be happier with the result. GIVE MASON A RAISE! Thank you!

The work preformed by Chad was excellent. unfortunately there were some glitches with other staff members. I had my work completed in June 2022 (a replacement for my tankless water heater). since I hat date there have been changes in the company which have been positive. I had used this company in the past, the recent work was excellent and I would recommend this company in the future. The paperwork arrival via USPS is a bit of a challenge but current management is able to handle it much better than in the past. I never heard back from them (no call, no email, no estimate) and even after I called the company and asked for a return call from the plumber- nothing. Zero communication from anyone. I'm writing this review for my mom, who is not at all internet savvy. I was however, was there nearly everyday watching the progress of their work.

Ehsan and his team were very efficient the whole 2 and a half weeks they did work on my parents house. Let me first tell you that my parents house needed a lot of work done. The sewage line needed to be repiped all the way to the sidewalk! They had a lot of workers, working day in and day out. Lots of drilling, lots of digging, and they even remodeled the master bathroom because they found water leaks within the pipes behind the walls! I had no idea a plumbing company could take on so much work! Did you???
All in all, everything was put back together where it needed to be and my parents had running water.. Before they came, my parents washer drain system wasn't working, and the kitchen sink was not working because the pipes were disintegrated. That's when they tackled all the issues and worked hard to replace all the pipes behind the walls that no one sees!

Well if you happen to have similar issues, you can count on Rooter Heroes to go above and beyond to get the job done! Thank you Ehsan, Greg and the whole team for coming to the rescue!

RooterHero did a poor job of demolishing a wall in my bathroom to repair a plumbing leak. I was lucky they did not burn down my house when they soldered because they directed the flame toward unprotected drywall. The inside of the wall was scorched. They discarded my premium shower head with the trash and said too bad when I asked for it to be returned.

They came into my home hellbent on doing a bathroom remodel and, when that option was denied, did a sloppy job, left me a mess to clean up and put me in a position to pay someone else to complete both the demo and the plumbing.

No heroes in my book.

This is not a review on their work (as we never hired them), but a review on their communication and process of scheduling an appointment that never happened. We requested a quote for two tankless water heater replacements. Isaiah first came out. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and provided us a great quote. However, when we called to schedule an appointment for the replacement of just one tankless water heater, they told us they needed to send another technician out to finalize our quote. After completing his on-site visit, this technician told us that he needed to go back and check with a supervisor/manager to approve the work because it might require a permit. After a week of waiting (without hot water!) for someone to call us back, we finally had to call back ourselves only to find out that they would not do the job without a permit. The lack of communication and the amount of back and forth we went through with them did not give us the confidence to hire them for the job, especially since no other quotes told us that a permit would be needed. Also, when we requested Isaiah (the initial technician who never mentioned anything about needing a permit) for the job, we were told that he doesn't work there anymore.

Where do I begin with how pleased I am with Roto Hero?! They're amazing. I had them come out because my sons clogged the plumbing with a bunch baby wipes on our upper floor. Daniel worked diligently and thoroughly until he pulled them all out. He was reliable, hardworking, and very professional. The second time I had Roto Hero come out we noticed the toliet on our first floor seemed to be clogged. Both our technicians, Beecher and Daniel, worked incredibly hard to get their line through the plumbing and found that a root system grew into the pipes. Beecher and Daniel used their problem solving to find out that they could get to the root from the access sewer line outside of our home. They spent a large amount of time working to get the roots out of the pipes. Throughout the process they checked back with me and made sure I understood what was going on. They had great attention to detail when explaining the issues and how the plumping worked. They were both so kind and even drew up an illustration as to where the problem happened. Beecher and Daniel pulled out huge masses of root from the tree which required a lot of hard work and determination. After the work was completed, Beecher wrote up a detailed list and pictures for us to send to the HOA to get the work approved. They were friendly, considerate, and very knowledgeable. I will refer them time and time again. I couldn't be happier. Thanks for your great service Roto Hero, I'm a customer for life!

As a home owner I have had my share of service calls from all fields over the past many yrs. I have tried various companies for plumbers and I am finished searching for the right plumbing company. Rooter Hero has done such a good job on the 3 issues I have had over the past few yrs, that I won't call anyone else.

The plumbers who are dispatched to my home were all very profession, friendly and responsive. The owner of this company has hired hardworking guys with a great work ethic. I don't know what his secret is, but he has gotten it right. No one cuts corners or does a sloppy job. They arrived on time, addressed the problem, and simply got the job done.

Save yourself the aggravation of finding the right plumbing company, Rooter Hero is the only one to call.

We hired them to snake a kitchen drain because of their advertised price.
They snaked the line and said we had problems and a blockage that the snake could not correct. We agreed to a camera inspection and were told we had cracked drains and a blockage and needed to have pipes repaired at the tune of $8300.00+. No written quote was provided and the camera man went away upset we did not sign up right away. We told them we needed competitive quotes. We called our regular plumber and showed him pictures and he told us we did not have cracks and did not need thousands of dollars of work done. We have washed clothes, washed dishes and used the sink drain for multiple times now and everything is draining fine. The snake did solve our blockage and no additional work needed to be done. This is NOT a trustworthy company and we will not use them again. If you use them be very careful of their upselling tactics and get a second estimate on any work they might try to sell you on.

A few months ago I had a clogged drain. I called Rooter Hero and they sent out Andres. He took care of the drain and things started flowing. All was good, until I did a load of laundry, everything started backing into the shower. I was angry and very upset. I called Andres and let him know what was happening. He told me he was at a big job, but would come over that same day. He did, he came and had his supervisor show up. They ran some test and it was concluded that it was weeds. The price was right, I checked before we said yes. They came back the next day and fixed the problem. I saw it first had, surprise I could flush the toilet with all the weeds in there, it was like most of the pipe was taken up. The only opening was about 2inches, reason we could flush until we couldn't. Thank you Andres, will keep your number handy!

My 2 toilets started leaking at 11PM & couldn't be used. The next morning I called a # of plumbers & Rooter Hero was the only one who could come ASAP. Dennis & Albert (his apprentice) arrived on time. They gave me a quote & I accepted it. As they began work, they found out that less work was required & gave me a new (lower) quote. They were friendly & highly professional. I am very pleased with their service. They are much better than any of the Big 3 plumbers in San Diego. I highly recommend them.

On May 29 my toilets backed up and I contacted Rooter Hero San Diego to come out to my home to find out what the problem was. Devin, and Gabriel immediately got to work and informed me that the old cast iron pipes from 1951 had major cracks and had deteriorated. They not only diagnosed what needed to be done in a very efficient manner but got the work done in 2 days. They completely replaced the old cast iron pipes, installed clean out valves and had my house back and running faster than I could have imagined. The team of Gabriel, Marco, Michael and Devin were very professional, knowledgeable and very efficient. They kept me informed of all the work every step of the way.
I am very happy and impressed with this company. Not only do they have great service but also very competitive prices and financing. Thanks for an excellent job!

We had what we consider
a major job: new drains throughout house: Our foundation had to be dug up in several places, and our technician, Jose, was as good as it gets making sure that each procedure was done properly and making a huge effort to ensure that everything was cleaned up and trenches, holes, etc. were covered to protect from accidents when work was completed each day. After completion of the drain work, we were very impressed with Jose's skills in re-laying our tiles in our kitchen, replacing bathroom tiles, and making sure our carpet was re-laid and stretched properly. For what started as a dreaded experience, it went really well and it was a pleasure to see such a skilled craftsman at work. We are very appreciative.

The water shutoff valves for our washer was tight and I thought they needed to be replaced. Mason arrived early, did a quick assessment and showed me the valves were working fine. They were tight due to lack of movement which is normal. He turned them a couple of times to make sure they were working fine and showed that no water was coming out when the valves were shut.. Did not charge me a single penny. He was honest and did not try to sell me anything. I would not hesitate to call them again when I have plumbing issues.

We had a major plumbing emergency in our kitchen and we had to order an emergency plumber at the very last minute. They came quickly and the service was awesome. we had two technicians, both of whom were great, but the main technician Ehsou was extremely relaxed and nice about the problem, smiled the entire time, and engaged with my roommates and I in the best ways. Great experience! We had a clogged drain and our landlord coordinated an appointment with Rooter Hero. The guy they sent was Allan. Allan is the MAN, he was so nice and friendly, came in with a smile and was sure to let us know to give him a call if we had any other issues. He was also extremely patient while we worked with our (I'll just say frugal) landlord regarding pricing. The pricing was fair and Allan was in and out in 30 minutes.

Bryant D. did a wonderful job yesterday working tirelessly on a problem that extended from 2 toilets, to sewage backing up in the house in a bathtub and shower and extending and overflowing out 2 pipes on the outside of the house. This was not an easy problem to fix and he kept at it patiently for hours until he was confident with the result. He was such a pleasure to have working in the house that I asked for his manager's contact information. I was then pleasantly surprised to speak at length with Jim about Bryant and about Rooter Hero. What a great group of people who want to ensure that the customer is satisfied. Also, for the time spent and effort required, we were VERY happy with the bill. I would recommend Rooter Hero (Scripps Lake Dr) without hesitation and will be sure to use their services again when I need them!

My telephone call to Rooter Hero Plumbing for a resolution to a plumbing problem was answered with a caring professional, and positive attitude. A two hour window appointment to my home was set and met with an arrival notice to my home of thirty minutes.
The technician Josue was well prepared with a depth of knowledge in the plumbing field. He assessed the bath room toilet problem which had a sluggish flush and slow refill of the water tank. He explained that the problem was the flush valve and resolved the situation with the a new flush valve replacement. Throughout the entire process he took the time to explain with a caring and positive attitude the steps that he was taking to ensure that we were completely satisfied with his high quality of work. We highly recommend Rooter Hero Plumbing for any plumbing problem resolution. Over the years we have had the experience and opportunity to assess other plumbing companies and we consider Rooter Hero Plumbing to be at the cutting edge of caring and customer satisfaction.

The honest truth is I called a plumber to help me with a pipe leak, they stalled and refused for 2.5 days, damage got worse, until their expert recommended a $10000 re-pipe of my entire property. Living in an older building presents a lot of plumbing challenges. Thank goodness I have Rooter Hero. Last Tuesday evening the pipes in the water heater for the entire complex burst. I called Rooter Hero and they were great. They were responsive and made sure I knew exactly what was being done. Marco and John spent the entire day fixing the pipe. They were very professional. They got the water back on to the entire complex. I can't thank Marco enough. He did such a clean and professional job. He came back to check on every thing and made sure I knew that if I have any questions or problems I only had to call. Kitchen Sink drain was clogged and was poorly draining. Rooter Hero to the rescue. Aaron S was able to access the problem and resolve the clogged drained with a snake about 30 feet. Called for a clogged drain because they had an internet special for $77 and i work long hours-after they worked on it one night from the cleanout and vent on the roof they told me they would have to come back the next day with a camera to see what the problem was because they couldnt unclog it. The next day after looking through the camera they called to tell me that they would need to get behind the bathroom vanity, rip up tile and jackhammer floor to replace 25 ft of pipe in the bathroom for $3800.00 - being a handywoman myself i said Hell no! Took time off work to put a manual 15 ft snake through bathroom drain and cleaned it out in 10 minutes-these guys are a total rip off....and they know it!

So I called Rooter Hero to help fix a busted sprinker system pipe because I thought they might be able to help fix it. I was put in for a trouble ticket call and informed I was next in line for service. I received a call at 4:47 pm informing me the technician was on their way. I received a text at 5:21 pm informing me the technician was on their way. At 6:09 pm I texted the technician number and got no reply back. At 6:21 pm, I call the office number when the technician still wasn't at my house and the representative couldn't get in touch with my technician, Victor Sanchez. The rep said he would try to contact him and call me back. A few minutes later he called me back and said Victor was putting together an estimate to email me and if I was good with the price he would come by. I asked him to connect me with Victor to simply get a verbal estimate and he did. Victor said he got caught up at another call but had already stopped by my house to looked at my busted pipe and also said he spoke with my son. That was all a lie because I had been sitting out front near my busted pipe for over 1 1/2 hours, and my son was upstairs in his room all day. He definitely did not stop by. When I told him this, he hung up the phone. So then I called the office back to explain what had happened and they then, on the third call to the office, told me that they don't work with sprinkler systems. This would have been good information to know the first time I called the office. I was definitely lied to and not given honest feedback from Rooter Hero and just taken in circles. Maybe I was wrong thinking a plumber could fix a busted pipe. If you don't want to be lied to and wonder if the the technician is going to show up then find another plumbing company...they will feed you lies.

Our kitchen sink was plugged and wouldn't budge, and with a party coming up on the weekend we needed help fast. Rooter Hero gave us a two-hour window and came out promptly. Tech Jose Godinez was friendly, fast and efficient. He was also knowledgeable and told me the probable causes of the problem (corrosion of old copper pipes further down the line and the pipe from the sink going uphill). We live in a old home built in 1950. As the owner I have had many experiences with major repair projects so I was prepared to deal with the frustration, disruption and uncertainty that comes with any major repair project.I needed a plumber to unstop the drain in a bathroom sink so I looked online for a company in my area that could come and do the work. After reading several reviews I chose Rooter Hero Plumbing. They responded by email and sent Dennis the next morning to do the work. We agreed on a price and began to try to unplug the drain. He soon found that the tool (snake) could not enter the area that was restricted and with the aid of his camera showed me what the problem was. An earlier bathroom remodel had been plumbed with the incorrect connecter which would stop the tool from making the turn into the clogged area. I'll make this long story short.
We, together, because he always visually kept me informed by way of his camera in the line found the main sewer line under the house was so badly rusted and deteriorated it was full, I mean full of tree roots and broken open. Remember this is a 1950's cast iron pipe.
Dylan then arrived and both he and Dennis worked up four options for me to consider. Each with it's own advantages and disadvantages incorporating both cost and amount or repair to be completed and future needs. The job is no longer a sink drain problem but a major re-plumb of three bathrooms and a main sewer line in a small crawl space under our house.
I was thrilled with the professional skill and knowledge the team brought to the job. Dennis and James did exactly what was needed in the time frame they laid out at a price that was acceptable to me. They photographed the entire project as they completed each task and kept me informed about what was happening constantly as work progressed. Because of their inspection of my complete home I know what to expect in the future for more repair down the line. Old pipe remains under two other bathrooms. Not only do I know what to expect but also who I want to do the repair and replacement when the time comes. Dennis and James are now our plumbers. We had the pleasure of working with Andreas and Luke when our bathroom began overflowing with water from under the toilet. They were able to quickly come fix the problem and worked to identify what we discovered to be roots in our old cast iron plumbing.

Andreas was extremely personable and the reason we decided to go ahead and continue working with Rooter Hero instead of other options. When we discovered the degree of the issue we decided to have the whole house redone at once they were able to give us a fair price which included repairing the concrete and finishing up with the flooring. Luke did an amazing job and even paid special attention that the grout was the perfect color.

Beware of using this company. Their license currently has multiple legal actions against them by the CSLB & their CEO (James Michael West) is trying to remove himself from the business due to all of the fraud their business conducts. However, the license is attached to his SSN #, so if you were ripped off like we were, he cannot escape the charges.

We are in a situation resembling the exact scenario the completed investigation that I linked above.

I scheduled an appointment with the dispatcher to reset a toilet for me on Thursday. They scheduled the service for Friday afternoon. On Friday they called me to confirm the appointment. I received a call Friday afternoon from the dispatcher Informing me that the technician was running late. I later received a call that evening from the dispatcher Informing me that they didn't have anyone available to install the toilet but they would be able to get someone out on Saturday morning. I agreed with their time. On Saturday I received a call from the dispatcher letting me know that the technician would be stopping by in the afternoon between 1-3pm. That same evening I received a call from the dispatcher to tell me the technician had an emergency and wouldn't be able to make it to install the toilet. I gave up at this point and decided to call someone else. However, on Monday morning I received a call from their office to ask if I still needed someone to install the toilet. Since I couldn't find anyone to install my toilet I decided to give them one last shot. I should have learned the first two times. They scheduled an appointment for 4-6pm and at 7pm I received a call from the technician telling me he was very tired and that he needed to rescheduled. I've worked with many plumbers in the past and I've never had 3 cancellations back to back by one company. It is very unprofessional to waste people's times especially 3 times. I will definitely not be calling this company for any services in the future. Very disappointed!!!

I had a lot of water in my backyard and was worried it was going to be a big project. I messaged Roto Hero Plumbing on Yelp late last night and we set up an appointment for this morning. They messaged me Daniel's picture and information so I knew who I would be expecting. He arrived on time and was very polite and helpful.
About 10 minutes in he found the source of the leak which was a hose gasket on my back patio and had we been able to shut off the water off directly could have been fixed in 20 minutes but we had to wait for the city to shut it off (20 min to 2 hr wait ). We stood outside and chatted while we waited for the city come over. Once they shut the water off Daniel was done in no more than 10 minutes!
Daniel was super friendly and professional and I would definitely recommend Roto Hero Plumbing! They made the whole process simple and painless!

There are times when plumbing needs are top of the priority list. I chose Rooter Hero Plumbing firstly due to their amazing customer service. I recently called Rooter Hero and had Gil come out to Chula Vista and help me with a serious plumbing problem. This was after trying to do it myself with no success. Michael is a nice guy. I feel I was totally ripped off for two angle stops for two bathrooms. He charged me $520.00! Angle stops are $8-$10 at home depot. I'm very upset and want to be reimbursed at least half my money. The angle stop cracked and flooded my newly remodeled floor. This is the 3rd flood in my pos manufactured home since June of 2021. I'm broke from the 3 floods. The first one was 12 days after I moved in. In April 2022 my kitchen flooded. The first flood took out my two bathrooms and my guest bedroom. I'll be calling the owner of Rooter Hero tomorrow. My new flooring has a cracked in it from what happened. I'm very lucky I was home or my entire house would have been a damn disaster.

This company went the extra mile to make things right in the sanitary sewer replacement. It was anticipated that the project could be done without disrupting the cement floor. Due to unforeseen complication the floor had to be disrupted in several places. This was very disruptive to our living, but the extra attention given by George the supervisor of the job and subsequently by Chad Williamson to repair every detail of what ended up in being a very complicated installation.

Thank you to the owners of Rooter Hero for having such dedicated employees and company willing to go the extra mile.

It seems nothing in reconstruction turns out simple, but Rooter Hero makes it right, even at their expense and effort. You cannot find such service anywhere these days, except at Rooter Hero.

Newly moved into a house first time i used my master bathroom toilet it did not drain properly. Called and they couldn't figure out what was wrong at first. They scheduled another appointment for someone to come out and said it would cost around $100-$200 dollars. They cammed only the master bedroom toilet pipe, Note i removed my own toilet to avoid a $200 charge for a simple 5 minute procedure and the invoice came out to over $300. They stated nothing seemed wrong and it was probably my toilet. Same night my shower was not draining properly, to avoid another costly service I snaked my own shower drain with a 25ft snake. This did not clear the draining problem, i waited a few days and then called to get my master bathroom cammed again as the plumber must have missed something. They refused to come back without charging me over $300 for the service again. I told them that it was not acceptable and that i paid for my master bathroom to be cammed so my shower should have been included. A simple home inspection sewage inspection with a camera of ALL my home would have cost me less than the one service that they charged me. They said they would contact the plumber who serviced my home for their input and would set up an appointment for Friday for them to come out again regardless, Friday comes and no one calls me and no one shows up. Saturday i called to ask what happened and the lady attempted to say there was an emergency but could not verify what she was true. We set up an appointment to come out today Sunday for the camera. The plumber said he was here to snake my residence not camera. This caused me to be totally upset. I asked fine, since you are here I would like the $77 dollar draining cleaning service with the free camera inspection since this has all been a huge hassle, i will make it simple. He said that cannot be done as those are only applicable for if i get a full service. I told him the coupon doesn't say that and try to show him the coupon and and he said thats the rules. I already had a service performed so why isn't my coupon accepted??!! I was very disgruntled at this point and ask the plumber to leave. I called shortly after to lodge a formal complaint and after I said that the customer service person raised her voice at me for since I asked what is the typical turnaround time to receive a call so i can either follow up or escalate this further which she stated she could not answer, i decided to hang up at this point. I have escalated this to the Better Business Bureau as the service is terrible and so is the customer service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Update: used Another plumbing company and they cammed my house for half of what rooter hero charged me and they found a huge piece of title or porcelain. I was with them for every second looking at the same camera they were when they found it. It seems impossible for rooter hero to missed a huge piece of debri that was a minimum of 6 inches long and 2 inches wide in my drain.

Luke Myers with Rooter Hero Plumbing is fantastic. I really appreciated his attention to detail when he was putting in a new sink and faucet for my mom's place. Clogged bathroom sink! Ewwww. Never fear, Rooter Hero is here!!!

Jose to be exact. Our technician was a nice guy named Jose. He was kind and explained the problem and what he as going to do to fix it.

He went to his van, got the necessary tools and got down to business. Within 15-20 minutes, he had finished snaking the drain.

We had found the company through a flyer which had a coupon. They honored the coupon.

Prior to his departure, he asked if we wanted a free inspection of all aspects of the water piping. We happily obliged and within 20 minutes that was done as well.

I would highly recommend the company! Thanks Jose and Rooter Hero!

To not be able to get even a ballpark quote for a specific service is ridiculous. Even after explaining that I would like to go through them and I am ok with the quote not matching the final bill they said, nope.

I called and needed someone before I went to work. In less than an hour Kwesi was out and diagnosed the problem and gave me a quote. Within 30 min he had my sink unclogged. Very professional, friendly, knew his job and did it quickly. Price was great! Will definitely use them again. If you want fast and efficient service call them!

These people are the reason you should ALWAYS get a second opinion. Their pricing of the fixes I know are necessary in my house were twice that of the other guys. They tried scare tactics to sell me an Electronic Descaler Water Filtration system as if not having one is going to cause major pipes to burst in my home. I was in tears when they left thinking that I had a massive amount of repairs ahead of me. Then, my next two estimators had a completely different story to tell.

No one likes to feel taken advantage of, and guys should be ashamed of yourselves. I made the mistake of mentioning we just purchased our home and that I found their information in the mailer of coupons that came to my house. I realize now that made me a mark and they used my unfamiliarity with the home to sell me things I didn't need.

I've had a emmergency toilet clogging issue in the evening, and called Rooter Hero Plumbing, their receptionist was courtesy on the phone, and told me that the dispatcher would call me back with the scheduling in 15 minutes; but no one has called, I actually had to call them back twice in order to have their dispatcher to call me back and provided me the confirmed schedule after two hours, I think it's definitely that there's improvement needs to be made for the response from their dispatchers.

Even though they claimed that they don't charge extra for overtime outside the normal business hours or weekend, the same rates will be applied across the board 24/7; but I think they probably has already factored it in their rate of the project; they came to my home and evaluated the clogging issue of my toilet, and gave me two options; one is to clear it up with the Rigid Auger without warranty with the price of $185.00; the second option is to remove the toilet, making sure that everything is clear of debris and clean, and reinstall the toilet, this will come with the rpice of $355.00 with warranty; I have chosen the first option with the Rigid Auger clearing, it only took them 5 minutes for the project to be done to clear up the clogging, and I think the $185 is kind of pricy for the performance of the job (I personally think that perhaps $100 is more reasonable, and I was glad that I didn't take the second option with the much higher price because my toilet is brand new and has just installed couple of months ago); but I'd say that the techinican who came to my home was approached me with professional manner as I expected.

With the experience of the slow delayed response from their dispatcher, in addition to the high cost in their rate of the project, I'm not sure if I'd consider to use them again in the future.

Well he we go, I used these guys twice before and they were fair. So I referred them to my girlfriend, that lives in La Mesa. I'm going to try a be brief. They wouldn't go on 10' flat roof to snake her 1958 house main pipe???? Said oh we don't go on roofs? We have to pull your front toilet and that's $550???? We told them, we tried that a year ago and you can't get your snake to bend through the pea trap!!! Oh no we can said the salesman!
Yes salesman, that's what some of these guys really are, not plumbers.

He pulled the toilet, I got there to late, oh 1 hour later, yep the big snake won't bend and he broke the head off!
So after hearing about his three kids and life stories for another hour,
He couldn't snake the pipe.
Called his boss/ the closer? And he said 650-750$ to hydro jet from the roof? The next day?
I said I'm so sorry I wanted to use this company/ for a third time? But no.
They left empty handed. So I called two other companies same scam..... it's a racket/
Oh PS
I called a fourth company Reffered by some other friends and went on roof in 5 minutes, snaked the main line,
Then the clean out down the rest of the run to the street.
75$!
We're all clean out again.
As a contractor in business for thirty years, it really gets me why, some salesman try to up sell you / take advantage of you in a dire situation to try and make the big money?
I did use these guys at my house, different plumber/ sales guy.....
If your gut says, it's over priced/ your gut is right.

I wish I'd have read about these guys before having them work on my house. 22k to repipe my house and not with copper but plastic. Then they say they'll fix the walls they cut into so you can't tell, well the texture even after the second attempt is still way off. They had to get into my closet to get to the plumbing to a bathroom and when they put the closet back together and I was told I could hang my clothes again, two days later everything is on the floor. The shower in my bathroom is either scorching hot or cold. All of these issues I've addressed after the big work was done and still no resolution. Huge ripoff for 22k especially since they claim to be able to come back and fix their errors. Do not make the same mistake I did, please get estimates for work elsewhere. I was told, after having the work done, by my AC guy that Rooter Hero completely ripped me off.

Overall, Rooter Hero Plumbing provides prompt service initially. I initially provided 5 stars in a visit a year ago when Michael, our first plumber, replaced our water heater. Within a couple hours, our family was able to enjoy nice hot showers again.

This time around, in early September, Gil & Jacob, replaced all 3 toilets in our household. Unfortunately, they left poo stains on my bedroom wall and through the staircase when they removed two of the upstairs bathroom toilets. To make matters even worse, I noticed that there was a leak going into a downstairs bedroom even time the toilet flushed. They came a couple days later to reseal the toilet a second time.

Two weeks later, I found another leak in the master bedroom toilet. The toilet was not properly sealed. I've contacted Rooter Hero once again. They provided me a time window the next day between 11am-1pm. No plumber showed up and I had to contact the office another time. They responded that the previous plumber was not available and another will come out at 3:30pm. This new plumber, Max, did not show until 430pm. They basically wasted my entire day of waiting. Max resealed the 2nd toilet as well as checked the 3rd toilet for any issues to hopefully avoid a 4th visit.

The manager did call Max while he was working on it and another time before when Gil had to come back the 2nd time.

I'm hoping that there's no other issues as the toilets are under warranty. The plumbers have been nice and courteous, but I rather take my business with another company that provides quality and thorough service the first time (not after the 3rd visit).

So, while I can't comment on the quality of the plumbers themselves, their follow-through earned them a failing grade.

Javier [luna] arrived on time within 2 h of our calling, got right to work, explained what he was doing and why. We had a stopped up toilet with an outside access which Javier snaked 40 feet. The toilet was still clogged so he went inside took the toilet off, snaked 50 ft, removed the roots growing into the flange and resealed the toilet. He also told us that we needed a new fill valve for our toilet tank and where to get it. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and did the job in a timely fashion.

Be warned that this company won't provide any type of basic pricing over the phone and insists on wasting your time for a free in person estimate. Their plumber is probably not hourly and wanted to make extra by charging $585. for a simple garbage disposal replacement. The other plumbers and Troy Plumbing who we ultimately went with charged $250.00. I asked the plumber how he could get away with charging so much and he said some people are will to pay so they keep their prices High.

Another truck from rooter hero pulled up and the manager went under the house came back about 15 minutes later and told me I had to replace All my pipes major leaks and cracks that need to be replaced immediately for 16,000 dollars.
. He had a loan officer on the phone with me at a 9.9 interest rate in minutes asking me to sign away. I had a weird feeling that night and cancelled for the next day to get some other quotes. The manager texted me early that morning to say he'd drop the price 3,000 dollars but he had to start immediately. I said No I need to get other quotes. My second plumber said
No leaks and He could replace the pipes for about 8,000. But no rush.
The third plumber said you don't need to replace your pipes at this time. They are fine. This plumber got the lemon rinds out of the drain. And all is well and good.
I'm shocked a company would do this to anyone. Especially at a time like this. Oh and they dug a huge hole outside my kitchen window took apart a very heavy fountain destroyed three nice plants including rock replacement. And I have to clean it all up. I'll pay my Gardner to help me put everything back together but I feel like what they did to me Is a crime. I informed my insurance company of what went on and my family and everyone I've told the story to are just in shock. Rooter hero is no hero. They are scam artists. I don't want this happening to others. Shame on you Guys!!!! What you did to me Is a crime.

I just moved to San Diego and I have been having plumbing problems in my apartment so I called Rooter Hero. A guy by the name of Jose came out and assisted me. Very welcoming nice guy. He was working all day and came out to me at 10 o'clock. He diagnosed the problem instantly and let me know what was wrong. Unfortunately the repair was out of my budget, but the customer service from Jose was amazing. He contacted me in advance of his arrival and was persistent to help. I recommend having service for your plumbing from Jose, he'll get the job done.

This all took place yesterday..

We had the same plumbing problem like last time Rooter Hero came out. Luckily we had the 90 day guarantee going. I was fortunate enough to still have Zeek's phone # from the last time he serviced us.

The tenant had called me around 8-9pm which in turn I called Zeek. I was thinking assuming he would be annoyed seeing how I'm calling him around 9-10pm at night but he wasn't. He professional and kind and explained to me he would be at the complex first thing in the morning. Kept his word.

Sadly me thinking the plumbing problem would be done in about 1hr turned into an all day thing because we found out an electrician put a grounding rod right through the main line causing the ongoing.

Needless to say Zeek was awesome, great and amazing with everything, so were the 3 other technicians that came out to help him.

All 4 were super great very professional with everything any questions I had they answered.

Instead of fixing the problem and just sealing the pipes back up they created another clean out access location for us.

Again the only reason why I'm giving a 5 star is because of Zeek and his 4 co workers.

In all honesty, I written this review so I remember never to hire them again. To start off with we got one quote, then another and then higher quote by plumber for the same service. The plumber did really seem to known what was going on. It was not really a complex case....... The plumber was very nice though besides them try upsell everything.,... Again I written this review mostly to remember never to hire this company again.

Amazing service - super grateful for technician Chad

He went above and beyond while taking care of a bathroom leak. Price was reasonable. He also delivered great quality work and was super friendly.

The company shifted their schedule for me when I mentioned that I had prior illness from mold exposure and the issue was causing me worries of further water damage in our home. I really appreciated this part too. Great customer service!

I had a great experience with Rooter Hero Plumbing today. They called 20-30 minutes prior to arriving, as promised. The technicians (Jeff and Christian) were very professional and personable. They were able to clear a blockage in my double vanity sinks in about 15 minutes. It appears to be a difficult job as the prior technician I hired yesterday could not clear the blockage and made a big mess. Jeff also cleaned under the sink area and floor - very professional in my opinion. I also like that their work provides a 90-day warranty. I highly recommend them

Received a call from my tenants this morning in a single-family home in San Diego. I remembered seeing one of the mailers from Rooter Hero and decided to give them a try since they were relatively new to San Diego. My experience was outstanding! Great customer service for the call Center, the technician, Devin, showed up on time and was very professional. I will definitely use them again and I highly recommend them.

10/1/16: had another drain line clog. Called Rooter Hero again and they sent out Jose. Came in less than an house and fixed the problem. Good communication and quick fix (snakes main drain line). Provided recommendation for repair so it doesn't happen again.

Andre and Kieth came out in a very timely manner. They came and gave a free estimate for an immediate issue. Andres determination to take care of my issue was appreciated because he had tried several times with no success, and he could have stopped and recommended more work, which means more money. But he didn't, he kept trying and was able to get it done. All the while being sensitive to our needs and a true professional. My initial call waS on a saturday night (10pm to be exact) when my Sewer drain started backing up and a snake wasn't doing the job. I requested a quote and the answered right away. Came out the next day. Long story short. Big job but They did everything they promised. Mikey, the technician did an excellent and very professional job and was very considerate of our needs.

Initially they took my phone call for an appointment for ten days out with a window time between 1-3pm. On the day of, as it drew closer to 3, no phone call, so I called them and they stated they needed to reschedule 3 days later. I wasn't happy. They could have called to explain but nothing. Very polite folks but incompetent. They spent one and a half DAYS on 5 of my backyard drains first with a snake ($250) and then with a hydro jet ($500) but were unable to make any progress. I was told that I have roots in my drain that were complicating matters. But that's the exact reason I called them. Heck they even have rooter in their name!! Ultimately they gave up and told me I'd need to cut/break my backyard stamped concrete to put new pipes. That would be $5,000 (ugly patching the concrete) to $8,000+ (work done to blend in) !!! The technician even involved his supervisor but it didn't help. Since they failed at the job, I didn't have to pay. But it's still a waste of time and adds to unnecessary worry.

So I called another company, Mr Rooter, who came and the guy finished all 5 drains for $300 in under two hours! The same drains were also cleaned over a year back taking about 5 hours. So it's definitely these guys.

They are polite folks, so I hate leaving a one star review but that accurately captures my experience and I hope no other family has to experience it.
