Abdul and his team saved the day! We had been having problems with our drains backing up almost every month for the past 2 months. We've worked with one local plumbing company for many years, but lately, they have not been consistent in their work. This past weekend, our drains were clogged and we needed someone dependable to come out and take a closer look. We asked our neighbors who they trusted and Abdul was highly recommended.

Despite having a packed schedule, he was able to fit us in for a quick visit. I My wife met him and he immediately asked her all kinds of very important questions, something no other plumber had ever asked. He then immediately went down into the crawl space and spent a lot of time looking at all of our pipes. After his review, he shared his findings and gave us a quote right away. He also said that he could move some things around so that we could have our entire sewage pipes replaced a few days later, all in one day.

As promised, he showed up with his crew this morning and they got to work right away. They pulled out all of our almost 70-year-old pipes and replaced them with new, high-quality pipes. They dug out a trench and replaced some old pipes with a new cleanout to help prevent and address any problems we may have in the future. Abdul was here the entire time, and doing a lot of the work. You don't see that kind of dedication too often, where the owner continues to lead by example and is right there every step of the way.

While he thought he could finish by 4 p.m., they found additional problems that were not found initially. He and his team worked on our home for close to 10 hours and got it all done and cleaned up.

We are super happy that we chose Abdul to come and help us with our plumbing problems. He is dedicated, hard-working, smart, and communicates everything with us, so we know what's going on every step of the way. That kind of service is rare.

Basically, you can't go wrong by choosing Abdul and the Matt's Plumbing team. They are the best of the best!

Update Dec 2022: Abdul from Matt Plumbing is basically our lifelong plumber now :) Since the original work he performed on the water heater service valves, he's done the following jobs for us.

1. Replaced a toilet on the 3rd floor of a townhome
2. Cleared clogged pipes throughout the home
3. Replaced a tankless water heater
4. Replaced a regular water heater in our new home

We'll basically go to Adbul for anything plumbing related at this point and highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for great workmanship, honesty, fair pricing, and super friendly to deal with. You're a life saver Abdul! Thank you for all your help over the years.

We had an emergency leaking pipe to the water heater.

We contacted Matt. He was super responsive and rebuilt the pipe the same day. He also added an extra shut off valve just in case.

Matt provided great estimates on arrival time, resolution ETA and pricing cost. Would definitely recommend Matt for any plumbing needs.

The roots of the tree in front of our house burst a pipe and the fire department had to shut our water off. The water department claimed we were on the hook for the repairs for the second time. We called Matt because we needed a new water line installed and he and his guys showed up and finished the work that same day. Our bath tub faucet was leaking and we tried to replace the cartridge ourselves. However the old cartridge got jammed and couldn't come out. Matt was very responsive and understanding. He came over to fix it at 10:30pm and resolved the issue. He not only fixed the problem but also explained a few other things on how to remove stuck cartridges in the future. Highly recommend him!

Our water heater finally went out. We knew it was going to happen and it finally did. Of course, there is no convenient time to lose heat. We called around to various plumbers and many weren't able to get us on their schedule quickly and others gave us absurd quotes ($9k for a water heater replacement...give me a break!)

Abdul was amazing. This was the second time that we needed him to come out on short notice. He was so great to get us in early morning and shift some other jobs around. He walked us through some of the options for water heaters and helped us make the right choice. In the end, we ended up going with his suggestion as we really trusted his expertise.

He showed up exactly on time and got the job done faster than his original time frame. Everything was done great and professional. His price was incredibly fair. I will absolutely call on Matt plumbing again for our next project!!

We had a plumbing emergency - toilets not working, sinks and showers smelling like sewage - it was awful. We talked to a number of plumbers about it and Matt Plumbing had the most thorough and comprehensive diagnostic of what was going on. They systematically checked each and every fixture to figure out which were good and which were having wastewater issues. It turns out we have a really complicated problem, not a single point of failure, but rather multiple failures throughout the wastewater system of our house - a leaking sink, a leaking shower, a few corroded and collapsing pipes - a horrible mess. Matt Plumbing provided pictures of the problem areas and an explanation of why these areas were issues and what needed to be fixed with them.

In addition, Matt Plumbing found a mistake that one of the other companies had made when the other company was looking at the problem, and they fixed the other company's issue and cleaned up the mess that the other company had made. (They didn't charge me for this either.)

Matt Plumbing went above and beyond my expectations.

Their quote was the best one I got for the comprehensive wastewater fixes, and I was so impressed with their methodical approach to plumbing and all their great five-star reviews here. I am so bummed that because of scheduling issues, I have to work with a different plumbing company for this repair, but the next time I have an issue with plumbing, I'm going to call Matt Plumbing first.

Matt saved the day! He is knowledgeable, very gracious and kind to my elderly parents, honest, quick and thorough, outstanding job, and fair price. My mom's kitchen sink had a drain issue and leak from garbage disposal. Dad had just gotten out of the hospital the day before and is a cancer patient. I explained that dad had a very low immune system and he was very sympathetic and made sure to keep his mask on and kept a tidy work space to keep my dad safe from infection. He fixed the drain problem and replaced the garbage disposal, gave my mom tips on how to keep maintenance on it and even adjusted the hot water heater because he noticed the water wasn't getting hot enough. You will not regret hiring Matt for your plumbing needs. My brother was so impressed, he is planning on hiring Matt for several projects for his house. Thanks Matt for treating us like family!

I hired Abdul to replace my 50 gallon gas water heater. We set up an appointment on a Sunday and he showed up on time. He installed a brand new Rheem water heater and also replaced the cold water intake valve (which had gotten stuck over the years).

His work was very professional and tidy. All hoses & pipes were labelled and color coded. The water heater was securely strapped in. Abdul also went over some of the basic operational settings of the water heater with me. Payment was easy through Zelle and the price was very reasonable!

Overall, a master plumber with reasonable rates. No corporate branded vans or overhead - just great work at great value. I highly recommend!

Had a plumbing issue a week before Thanksgiving (thank you flushable wipes )! Toilets periodically wouldnt flush and water would seep up into the showers.

Contacted the insurance company, and within 24 hours, they sent a plumbing service to take a look. At this time (it was a Friday), the plumber said they could snake it to clear, but would need to do it from the vent on top of roof. They did not have a ladder, so we scheduled this for the following Monday because they were booked Sat and dont work Sunday.

That SAME evening (10PM), the drainage issue is far worse. So I called 24 Hour Plumbers in the area. The first 5 numbers called went to voicemail.

About to give up and call it a night, I figured Id give it one last shot, and to my surprise, Abdul picked up!

We spoke briefly and was at my home first thing in the morning.

Abdul walked me through the process and said snaking it was an ok option, but only temporary and would need to be done frequently.

Abdul then recommended a permanent solution which was placing an escape at an easily attainable area so no further snaking would be required... and said he could do it the next day (Sunday).

After discussing pricing (which was fair) with the wife, we agreed to move forward and Abdul left to come back Sunday.

Abdul called me up a few hours later and said he finished with a job a little earlier, and could recruit some guys to help him get that escape installed that same day!

Abdul and his team showed up, did the dirty job, and had my plumbing working great!

Abdul was awesome! He is kind... honest, and went above and beyond.

I will recommend Abdul to anyone!

Our bathtub water wouldn't shut off and no other plumbers were picking up there phones at 1am. Matt picked up and I could tell I woke him up and yet he graciously, and patiently walked me through how to find the shut off valve for the water, which still took almost 10 mins. I was in emergency mode as we'd been trying everything for about 45 mins and on top of that like I said no one was able to come out at that hour. Matt didn't ask for anything and since he was in San Jose and I'm in Santa Cruz couldn't come out at night but he was able to come and fix it up in the day time. Such a friendly guy! Solid work! Highly recommended

Matt's Plumbing. Hi everyone!
I would like to recommend this wonderful plumber to this site. I have used him more than a handful of times to repair a number things in my house. I have recommended him to several of my friends. He is amazing- he does a clean job which amazing prices! I used some other folks on Nextdoor but boy were they awful! They had no clue and even ruined the job they were suppose to fix. That's how I came across Matt who repaired the damage that was done by this gentle man named Kumar who claimed he could fix my sink but did not! I got Matt's number from a neighbor. While we were out of the country I got a call from our property manager saying our water heater had gone bust and was leaking. I texted Matt and he responded almost instantly. Thankfully a neighbor had access to my house and was able to meet him and have him assess the situation. From the very first moment, he was up front, honest and completely transparent about what was needed , which in our case was a new water heater. Not only, that he was coordinating with me (13 hour time difference not withstanding )and the neighbor, seamlessly ensuring I knew what was happening at all times, sending pictures at every step. The job was done exactly when he said and he ensured that I was satisfied. I have never come across someone as earnest and helpful. I have recommended him to everyone in my community. We were having major issues with our newly rented home whereby the master shower would take forever to warm up. After 1 min it would begin to turn cold and you would have to wait at least 5 min for the water to turn warm again. This was so frustrating. My fiancee initially asked Roto Rooter to help and we had them come down 2x to fix it but it only lasted for 1 day and we were back to cold showers!!! Matt is a godsend! He was the only one who was able to fix it. He took his time and went above and beyond to inspect the other faucets in the house and overall plumbing. Not only did he take care of the rental that i'm currently living in but he took care of the pluming at my other home. Matt is personable, professional and takes care of you. While I hope to never have plumbing issues, if i do i'll be sure to contact him!!

This was my second time having Matt do work on our home. Kitchen drain had backed up and was not responding to plunger. Additionally, drain pipes under sink were leaking due to age. Matt was available next day and he was able to clear the drain and replace the sink pipes fairly quickly. Matt helped me to replace the leaking water heater in May; and I'm appreciated he can show up the next day because this is an urgent situation. And he finished the job very well and we can use the hot water again.
When we had a kitchen sink draining issue a few days later, he was the first person I tried to reach out for help. However, we didn't communicate very what should be doing; so we need to pay extra for fixing the food grinder. Overall, Matt is a nice guy to work with.

When we had a plumbing take a crap on us over the weekend, that's exactly what happen. I called this past Saturday, Feb 22. And Matt gave me a window that was met. I even had to step out, informed Matt and he was at my home waiting. During his initial inspection, he was very thorough and explained everything and ALL the issues immediately and provided the solution and quote. M m he scheduled us for the next day .. that SUNDAY 8am to come and out work with a team to get us back in order. Matt installed all the new plumbing under our house and installed a clean out, which we didn't have and concluded the job at 4pm. He put things back where he found, put paper down to the places he and his crew was accessing throughout (we have a no shoe rule in our house).

My water heater was leaking. I called the business at 10pm and he diagnosed the problem over the phone at 10pm and helped me shut off the water intake to the heater so it would not continue leaking. He adjusted his schedule to show up at 8am the next morning, provided me with an estimate and guidance. By 10am I had a new water heater.

Great hassle free service, and he did a wonderful job with the installation, also replacing some of the older pipes leading to the water heater.

Highly recommend for a good job with peace of mind.

We found our water heater leaking in the evening three days before Christmas and called Matt Plumbing. Abdul answered the phone promptly and was at our property within minutes to inspect the issue. It was determined that we needed a new water heater. Since it was late in the evening he wasn't able to purchase a new water heater until the next morning, but he came quickly the next day and finished the repair early.

His quick response, knowledgeable service and friendly personality saved what truly could have been a Nightmare Before Christmas. I would highly recommend him and will be calling him in the future for any plumbing needs.

Our kitchen sink was clogged Saturday night & I needed it opened asap. I looked up Matt Plumbing & Abdul texted me right away and said he will be in the next morning at 10:00 am. He was on time and right away got to work. In about 45 minutes he was done. He inspected all the lines and gave us great tips to keep the line clean. His charges were reasonable.
In summary Abdul was very courteous, respectful and very experienced. I highly recommend Matt Plumbing.

Matt did an excellent job replacing our water heater. We have a Bradford White power vent water heater, which usually cost more than average to replace. Matt's quote beat all the other companies. I called him on Saturday afternoon. He came out for a quote free of charge the same day, and by Monday, which is the first day the supplier opens, I had a new water heater up and working already. He's very efficient, diligent and easy to work with. And as an icing on the cake, he's got a great sense of humor as well. I would definitely call him for future plumbing needs.

Our sink/garbage disposal was leaking. Matt was quick to respond, give a quote and set up an appointment. He was early to our scheduled appointment. The water heater was not working at all. When Matt heard about that, he came here without any hesitation. He promised that we can have hot water today, then he made it! Our water heater is really old and hard to buy. It was noon, but he didn't have lunch. He drove an hour to a faraway place to buy the water heater. Then spent an hour to drove back just to get the correct water heater as soon as possible! I really appreciate him. Highly recommend!

I usually don't bother to leave the reviews, but this time I needed to do the review. I did two jobs with Matt. One in 5months ago and one in 4 months ago. First, he helped us to change the water heater on the top floor(3rd floor) and did awesome job. I had no single issue until now. Second job was changing the water softener in the basement. That job was also awesome. Super fast, affordable and explains all the details that I need for the maintenance and so on. I will strongly recommend him if you need to do the plumbing job. My neighbors in my condo community had a flood. It's been a headache for them. I decided to do preventative maintenance just in case. Abdul at Matt Plumbing brought peace of mind to my questions. He was punctual, knowledgeable and efficient. I described my issues (slow drain, broken garbage disposal, toilet fill valve not filling). He came with what seemed like very few tools - but he was able to solve EVERY issue. He's funny and quick in repairs - I wouldn't hesitate calling him again to do repairs. He's also quick to respond by phone or text. I was having issues with my dishwasher draining, but after Abdul replaced the disposal the dishwasher connected to it is purring like nothing was wrong. Last month I called Abdul to get a quote for adding washer hookups/piping since my property did not come with any laundry hookups. Abdul was quick to respond and provided an the most reasonable estimate our of the 4 other plumbers I called. It's almost 8pm on a Sunday night the day after Christmas and Matt just left. I called several plumbing services who claimed to be 24/7, but all they did was try and schedule you for the following day. We had a main drain clog that affected all bathrooms, showers and sink. We told him what we could afford and he was absolutely fine with it. He was prompt, polite and you can sense that he really cares about helping people out. He even gave us an extra thick wax ring for free (for those who know what that is). HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Matt agreed to come out to help us, same day, when we determined that we had a main line blockage causing back up to all of our toilets and showers. He understood that we were stressed. He gave an estimate on cost and arrival time immediately. He called me when he was running late and gave me an update and apology. He assured me he was still coming. When he arrived ( well after regular business hours) he was smiling, apologetic for being later than expected, and very kind and professional. He followed all Covid safety guidelines too. He got straight to work and was able to fix our issue promptly. He was fabulous! We were so grateful that despite being busy and running late he kept his word!! That means a lot to us. All toilets backed up, both showers throwing up sewer water on a Sunday evening and I called up Matt Plumbing. Mr. Abdul came within an hour of the phone call even though he was busy with another customer in San Jose. He looked at the problem, snaked my sewer drain and spoke about the long term solution. Him and I traced the sewer line up to the street. Finally, he cleaned everything up and left everything in great condition.

We had an emergency situation with our water pipe getting stuck. We called a different company that was able to come out at 2am. They came back in the morning and these guys literally cut up the pipe, said that part isn't made anymore, so in order to close it up we had to get everything all new. They told us there's nothing they could do and we needed to fork out $12k to fix this and that was it. So why would they cut it up and not know if that part is made anymore? We told them to kick rocks and hit up our guy Abdul here. WHAT A LIFESAVER!!! Not only did Abdul do more work in 3 hours than 3 guys did in 8 hours, we were able to save a SIGNIFICANT amount of money. This man is very honest and does the job right. Aaaand he was somehow able to find the pipe part that was not available in North America per the other guys. HILARIOUS!!! I highly, highly, highly recommend using MATT Plumbing for any issues you may have in your house. You'll get proper work done at a good rate. 5 stars!!!

It was my birthday, and I was visiting with some friends and family and the toilets backed up at 9:30pm on a Saturday night. I was so frustrated! Of all the days to have this happen... My guests had to start leaving while I was calling emergency plumbers. Abdul answered and said he would come right over. I was so thankful. When he arrived, he said that he wanted to help out, especially because it was my birthday. Our problem was not easy, and he even had to try to run the snake from the roof. When that didn't work, he persevered by pulling a toilet and reaching the clog from there with some tricky adaptations to the snake. I was thoroughly thankful that he was so knowledgeable, patient, and professional, and I definitely plan to call him again for any future plumbing needs.

Recently needed some repair work done. Matt (Abdul) was quick to respond on Yelp and set up an appointment. His quote was very reasonable compared to others. He also followed safety protocols with mask and gloves the whole time. Would highly recommend and plan to go back for some future work!

The water line from the mains to our yard burst open on Friday evening. Shutting off water to the home did not help as this was before that valve. It was an emergency. I first called a big company....rescue...r...they came out, they gave me an estimate but did not have all the parts. Finally at 9.00 pm (yes in the night) I called Matt, he came out and worked till close to mid night to address the problem for us. Funny thing, is my neighbor saw him and had the exact same problem so next day Matt came and fixed his line too. Amazing work ethic and quality work! Will hire Matt again!

I had a new under-sink valve installed with the help of my neighbor, but it had a slow leak. Ironically, Abdul had been called to my neighbor's house to snake his drain. My neighbor, Larry, who wrote a review below, sent Abdul over to help me. As suspected, it was a failing compression ring.

Our bathtub faucet had been leaking for years. Every time we turn on the shower, the faucet would still gush tons of water. Finally, my husband replaced the faucet since we thought that was the only issue. Nope. The hot water inside the handle was busted, too. And then it started to leak hot water all the time. Summer's coming up and the upper floor where the bathroom is was getting super humid and uncomfortable. We called up Matt one day and he came by literally the next day to take a look. Faucet is no longer being made and the issue was bigger than we anticipated. He tried to look for spare parts for the brand we had but they don't make it anymore. He came back the following week and finished everything super quick. You can't even see the cut he made into the tile to replace handle. My water heater leaked so in need of a replacement. I saw people recommending Matt on nextdoor so I contact him for quote. His response is very quick and he provides free onsite quote for me since he is close by. He is very straight forward about what he will do and provide competitive pricing.

He then calls and confirms a visit. He retains records as well and didnt need my address the 2nd time. He carries supplies so as to not cost the customer additional money. I needed 2 new faucets and loved the ones he had and installed. He doesnt try to sell you either.

Our laundry drain was running slow and backing up with large loads. I requested bids from a number of local plumbers and Abdul with Matt Plumbing was one of the ones that responded immediately via Yelp messaging. Unlike some of the others, he asked a few questions before providing a quote. He was super responsive, providing an estimate and scheduling a visit for the next day.

We are oh so thankful for Matt! I called him up last minute on a Saturday afternoon and he was at my mother-in-laws house within 30 minutes of that phone call!! WOW! Matt came out to repair a minor leak in our downstairs bathroom toilet that turned out to be a bigger issue than originally thought with not one but three different leaks! He went and got the things needed to do the repairs and then needed to leave and come back to complete the job. He was so patient and calm as he explained what was going on. He didn't get frustrated with the growing needs of the job, and if he did, he didn't show it. I really appreciated that because I'm a renter and the owner of the house was doing her best to get the repairs done sight unseen so we were both trusting and relying on Matt to be upfront and honest which is exactly what he was. When Matt returned to complete the job he was in, completed the task and asked what we'd like to do with the toilet that he had to totally replace. It was super hot out but he still carried the toilet to the back yard (to be used as an art instillation/planter) without complaint. Then to make this review even sweeter he was able to replace a water spout in our back yard that has been stripped for months! He was SO HELPFUL and very easy to work with. Matt is fantastic! Both of our toilets clogged around 10pm on Saturday night. I got panicked and I called Matt. He was able to get to my house within 40 minutes and quickly diagnosed the issue. The blockage was bad so he had to take off the toilet to use the machine to unclog it. The moment I heard water flowing sound in the pipe, that was the most beautiful sound I have heard! After calling over countless plumbers and having no luck we stumbled upon Matt plumbing. We spoke with a gentleman over the phone who gave us a price estimate. The plumber got to our house maybe 25 min after our phone call, diagnosed the location of the blocked drain pipe to the sewer line and had the problem solved within roughly an hour or less. He unclogged our bathrooms, installed a clean-out, unclogged our washer line and replaced the whole old pipe. His work is very clean and professional. He is also quite honest and friendly, and explained to us properly what the issue is and what he is doing to fix it. He is quite transparent in his business and gave us very good price. We also called him for some gas plumbing work for a gas dryer but instead of doing the work and charging us, he drove all the way to our house, checked our gas lines and gave us good advice on whether we should consider a gas dryer or an electrical one. We are very grateful to have had his help, specially when we have just moved in and did not have much plumbing knowledge.

We had an emergency water heater leak on Sunday afternoon. I called Matt based on positive Nextdoor reviews. He asked for a couple of pictures of the leak, and upon seeing them immediately confirmed that he would be able to fix it on the same day. He arrived a bit later than what he communicated (to his benefit, he was stuck longer on another call), but charged me $25 lower than usual. He quoted me a fair price to replace the water inlet pipes, cleaned up all the water logged heater and surrounding area. Got the job done in 60 mins. Highly recommended.

We had a rusted and leaking pipe and a water heater that was leaking from its pressure release valve. I got a number of quotes on Yelp. Many companies wanted $75-150 just to come out, with that amount being credited if I chose them. In contrast, Matt gives a free estimate. He responded to my quote inquiry via Yelp within ten minutes, and was on site less than an hour later. And this was a Saturday. His quote for the water heater was 50% less than some of my other quotes. As I was worried about the leaky water heater, I asked whether he could come the next day. Sure enough, he was there the next morning and took care of both jobs quickly. Matt is reliable, honest, and does a great job. I'm looking to him for future jobs. Finding an honest plumber like Matt is huge, as many of the other companies I looked at try to squeeze as much as possible out of you.

Matt is very professional. I would definitely call him if I need anything in the future.
The hot water goes away in last Thursday and Matt stop by on Friday. He tried to fix it at first but it does not work out. I could totally understand that because anything could go wrong for a 7 year-old GE water heater which still use old technology.
He proposed to replace with a new one and I am fine with that. The only concern is since the valve is broken, we need to shut down the water of whole building. I am a little bit worried because I could ask HOA once but if we could not fix it in ONE shot, that would be very inconvenient for others to do it second time. Due to the long weekend, HOA agree to shut down water for 3 hours in this Tuesday.
Matt stop by one time and within 2 hours, everything is done efficiently. A new valve and gas pipe are replaced. New pressure pipe is installed. Water heater is installed. Everything is cleaned up. He also provide me with a reasonable quota.
I will highly recommend Matt and eventually, we have hot water again!

Matt was able to give a free estimate and beat the price of other plumbers, come the same day as we called, and stay late to do all the projects we could throw at him. We have had plumbers in the past who have charged us outrageous prices and provided jaw-dropping estimates after giving us huge discounts (for example, Mike Counsil Plumbing), so it is nice to finally find a plumber like Matt who is knowledgeable and charges reasonable rates. He has a good sense of humor and does good work.

My water heater started leaking. I called few numbers listed here and nextdoor. Abdul picked up and he came by and after looking at the heater gave some suggestions of which one he recommends. He gave exact quote and started work immediately. He went and got the new water heater and installed the new one. All done in same day. I would recommend him for any plumber related work.

Friendly, honest, professional, and reliable. We had a plumbing emergency on a Saturday night and after trying to find a plumber to come and help us without any success, we stumbled upon MATT Plumbing on Yelp. I was hesitant at first because there weren't too many reviews, but I'm so glad we called him because he was clearly knowledgeable and went out of his way to help us. He came immediately and told us that we have to change our clean out to a standard size. In the meantime, he tried his best to give us a temporary fix which he did. So grateful he took the time to do that since we have a baby and needed running water. He came back to finish the job two days later and we couldn't be happier with his service. His prices are fair.
