Chris was extremely responsive, efficient , and capable. He arrived at my house in less than one hour and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem of my circuit breaker tripping frequently when my Tesla charger was running. They found a frayed wire at the circuit from a faulty installation of the charger. (Note: The charger was installed by a non-licensed electrician)

I would definitely hire him again.

Chris and his son installed a ring floodlight outside my garage and an additional outlet inside a closet. They budgeted 4 hours but we're able to complete the job in 1.5. They were professional and knowledgeable. Would definitely use them again if I need an electrician!

WHAT OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!  We have used Chris before at our home and oddly, one of the outlets in our garage just stopped working?  Being an Electrical Engineer (educationally only), I thought, of course, OKAY, I can try to fix it!

I read all the articles on what to do when an outlet goes bad and things to check, I even replaced the outlet and it still did not work.  I noticed that one of the breakers was switching oddly, so maybe it was the breaker?  So, we called Chris.  

On the phone, Chris took me through some possible sources of the problem to check.  The last check involved the GCI outlets in the house, kitchen, bathrooms, and guess what, . . . . . . . the GCI outlet in the master bathroom had accidentally had the TEST button pushed when I was cleaning the bathroom walls.  My bad!!  A quick reset and the garage outlet is working!!  THANK YOU Chris and Del Mar Electric!!!

Very disappointing. Initially, Chris is a nice guy came out to our house and did a bunch of lighting work at a very fair price. Unfortunately, when we tried to reach him to come out to finish one of the projects he had started he was impossible to reach. My wife tried to contact him repeatedly and he refused to communicate. Then I attempted, he responded one time said he would come out but then never did and never got back to me and totally ignored my follow up calls and texts.  So he does do good work at a fair price but very flakey and you will be lucky if he ever comes back to your house to finish the job.

Chris and his team of professional electricians are amazing! We purchased our home in La Jolla and it needed basically everything electrical replace, lights, switches, plugs, etc. They showed up when they said they would, communication was excellent and quality of workmanship was top notch! The positive attitude while they worked was so refreshing

I needed someone to install dimmers and a complex chandelier bought in Mexico and Chris responded and arrived in 1 hour!! On time and professional and go the job done with zero issues.   Will use them again for any lighting needs we have.

i was unable to return a breaker switch to the on position, so I didn't use those outlets.  When I called Chris, he told me that I probably wasn't pushing the switch correctly.  He told me how to reset the switch.  He saved me immense hassles and LOTS of money.  I will absolutely call him with any electric problems.  AMAZING!

In January of 2020 my tenant contacted me about one of the  smoke detectors  located in the kitchen making chirping noises.  I contacted Del Mar Electric to make the necessary repairs.  The smoke detectors are hard wired.  Someone from the company went out and did the installation.  I received a bill for $225.00 labor only and $65.0O for the new detector.  I was shocked at the labor cost and contacted them asking why so expensive.  I never did receive any type of satisfactory response.  I went ahead and paid the bill figuring it was my fault for not checking on their rates.  Last week my tenant called again with the smoke detector in the master bedroom chirping.  
I called a local handiman who went out that day, replaced the unit and checked all the others (3) in the house.  All of them needed new batteries and one had the wires cut.  His total bill including supplies was $255.00.  Del Mar Electric never even looked at the other smoke detectors.  They are a total trip off not to mention unprofessional.  
Under no circumstancases would I ever use them again.

We called Del Mar Electric to do a couple of unique jobs at our home in Rancho Santa Fe.  One of the jobs was to install a motor for a sculpture and we had a number of other things on our punch list.  Chris was terrific!!  He showed up on time, did all of the things beautifully and even fixed some electrical things that others had told me they couldn't fix.  We will definitely use him for any electrical needs in the future.  We were super impressed.

This is my second experience working with Chris at Del Mar Electric.  The first time I called him regarding a malfunctioning plug at a vacation rental I manage.  He was on time, neat, and did the work for a fair price.  So when all new appliances were being delivered to my home today and I was missing a plug for the range, I contacted Chris.  He was at my house quickly.  After installing a 220v plug, he finished setting my range in place and even leveled the feet.  I cannot praise Chris enough!  He's a really good electrician who is also a really nice person.  He's a pleasure to work with.

I called Del Mar Electric after failing to perform some home improvement. I sent a request on their site on Sunday evening and they were able to be at my home at 8:00 am Monday! Amazing response time.

Our animal hospital lost power with a patient under anesthesia (ie. A true 'life or death' situation), and Del Mar dropped everything to come out asap and help, as our property management company told us it was our responsibility to find an electrician in our circumstance.

The problem ended up being much more simple than any of us realized, so while it was a simple fix and made ZERO profit for Del Mar, there was a professional but personal,  no hard feelings sentiment to the end of the crisis.

Chris and his son provide excellent service. They installed under cabinet lighting in my kitchen and a chandelier with complex and fragile drops. They do top quality work, are friendly and highly professional. Living in RSF we often experience the RSF markup from service providers. Del Mar Electric's pricing is reasonable. I highly recommend them.

Our Long and heavy Chandelier was coming out of the ceiling.  We called Del Mar Electric in the evening and they were here in 30 minutes, did a very professional job, which wasn't easy.  Both Chris and his helper were very courteous.  I would definitely refer and use them again.

Very pleasant and reasonable!  We had some outlets that weren't working and booked an appointment for Chris to take a look.  However, by the time he came out, we were able to fix it ourselves (broken fuse).  We expected him to charge us for having to come out and we would have paid, but he didn't charge us!  We'll definitely use Del Mar Electric next time we have a problem we can't fix ourselves!

Del Mar Electric is the best! Our hardwired smoke detectors have been going off randomly in the middle of the night (no fun!) so we decided it was time to replace them all. I had heard about Del Mar Electric from a neighbor and after a weekend of being woken up twice by the screeching smoke detectors, I called Chris this morning. Chris said he'd try to fit us in today, and sure enough, he and his associate were here this afternoon to install 8 new smoke detectors throughout our house. He charged me a very reasonable price, was super friendly, professional and knowledgeable, and best of all, we hope to not suffer through anymore middle-of-the-night false alarms! Highly recommend these guys.

I needed 16 smoke detectors changed out in my house and was really scared about how much it would cost. I was pleasantly surprised when Chris suggested I purchase the smoke detectors (and a few combo carbon dioxide/smoke detectors) directly from Home Depot and then call him for the install. He and his son came out and installed the detectors quickly and they are so nice too! I would 100% recommend them and will be calling again next time I need some work done. Thank you!

He was prompt, quickly figured out what was wrong, and got it fixed. I've had him here a few times since for various issues and have always been happy. We highly recommend him!

Chris was recommended by a friend when we needed a switch and ceiling box installed for a ceiling fan and to install a new interior entry light above our front door.  He showed up right on time, discussed some options with us and then got right to work.  He was very careful to cover our furniture to protect it from plaster dust, and to clean up when the job was done.

Chris clearly understood what we wanted and helped us understand what he planned to do to get us that.  He was very patient as we needed to spray paint the ceiling cover for the entry light after he had removed it with the old light.  He was willing to work at the nearly 20' height of the ceiling and worked safely while he was up there.

Chris did an amazing job!  Super nice and honest and did not ask for a troubleshooting fee which most of the others do.  Was able to hunt down a breaker panel which saved me from paying for an entire breaker box.  Installed some new dedicated outlets and repaired my bad breakers which actually melted onto the panel.  Chris is a great person who does great work.  Highly recommend him.

Del Mar Electric is the real deal!!  I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Chris on a project in a rental property.  From the beginning, Chris ( The owner) was on it.  Chris came by the very next day after receiving my message to give me an estimate for the job.  Chis also gave me suggestions to improve my project, lower cost and get the biggest bang for my buck.  A few days later Chris started the job.  He was extremely professional and clean with his work.  Chris took the extra time to cover any areas with plastic that might get dusty.  I had Chris install 15+ led can lights, dimmers, move electrical for a TV i want to mount on a wall, trouble shoot other issues, etc.  Chis was very good about communicating any concerns and schedule changes.  Chis did an awesome job at a fair price.  I would recommend Del Mar electric to all my family and friends.

Where do I even begin???!! First off, I am always skeptical of home repair people. I guess it stems from my bad experience with a plumber years ago..but I digress. We called Chris at Del Mar Electric about an issue I had with my circuit breaker box thingy.  It had tripped and caused my dryer to burn out.  At first my husband called Chris and Chris was super honest with him and told him he was really busy and didn't foresee getting to us for a couple of days. I called around to a couple of other electricians and didn't get calls back or was just plain turned off by their customer service skills.  I had heard that Chris does a good job so I made the decision it was worth waiting for Chris to take a look at our issue.  This time I called him back and I told him look, I'm in a world of hurt..I'm a mom without a dryer!!! My life as I know it has basically come to a complete stop and I am a desperate woman. He laughed and said he would squeeze me in as soon as he could.  True to his word he showed up when he said he would and fixed our problem very quickly and efficiently.  Chris has an easy manor about him kind of like a soulful surfer who just happens to be a kick-ass electrician.  He did a great job, did it quickly and for a price I thought was more than fair for the work performed.  I highly recommend that  you call Chris at Del Mar Electric if you need an expert electrician who is reliable, trustworthy and solid all the way around.

Chris from Del Mar Electric installed 4 ceiling fans and two smoke detectors in my home. Not only was he thorough, professional, and trustworthy, he was truly a nice guy. His work was carefully and well done (I know, my brother is an electrician). He definitely didn't cut corners. The fans work perfectly, no wobbling, and no drywall or painting repair work needed. Chris and Del Mar Electric are saved in my phone and I will continue to call him for all of our electric needs!  I highly recommend him!  The first time I called I was in a pinch--leaving on a business trip and worried about a light fixture that had had dangerously shorted out.  He came after work--on his way home--to ensure that our home would be safe before I left my kids and husband home before I left town to travel!  Tonight I called because an electrical outlet had stopped working... My Dad was visiting and is pretty handy.  Before coming over and without charging us, he was willing to talk my Dad on the phone and to walk him through the steps required to repair the outlet successfully! We saved money this time, but we certainly will be calling Chris again the next time we need an electrician.  He's fair, honest, kind, detail-oriented (even remembered my dog's name!) and you won't be disappointed.

He answered the phone (imagine that on Saturday).
