My name is Douglas Mackay and I have been in the electrical industry for over 20 years. I started Electrical Insight so I can provide the best customer experience to customers in need of electrical work. Safety for our customers and employees is our number one priority. I will get the job done properly, safely, per code, and in a timely fashion to make sure that what you need and want is what you will end up with. I will go through the projects with everyone step by step and make sure you fully understand what we are doing and why. I will also educate you on how to use any of the electronic work we do. I needed quotes for a couple of projects at my new house. Robert came by and gave me quotes for all the work I wanted done. He was extremely friendly and helpful and professional. I ended up changing some of the requirements and called several times for follow questions, and they were very responsive and helpful every time. They gave me very honest feedback on my project and questions, even though it meant less work for them to make money on. Ian came to complete the electrical work on the scheduled day and was very friendly and professional as well. He completed the work quickly and efficiently and even helped me with additional questions i had about other switches in my house. I Highly recommend them for any electrical work needed and I will definitely be using them again for any future projects.
I've lived in a condo for over six years where I inherited an old chandelier that never worked. A couple of electricians told me over the years it was dead and needed to be replaced it, but the cost was not worth the effort. Now that I wanted to do something about it, I had gotten what I felt were overpriced quotes from companies with perfect reviews who hadn't even looked at the chandelier.
Robert from Electrical Insight came over and was friendly yet professional. He mentioned the upfront diagnostic cost of ~$250 before deciding what needed to be done with the chandelier. He enthusiastically got to work, fixed the issue with the switch and with the wiring somewhere up the chain. $250. He also cleaned after he was done.
I don't write reviews often, but that's how service should be.
Ian came out and was prepared to diagnose and repair the problem. He worked diligently, not just to do a short-term fix, but to get to the root of the problem! He was able to do that! I couldn't be more pleased. Not only would I use them again, but I would also recommend them! Lastly, they are reasonably priced. You can't go wrong.
I have used the team at Electrical Insight for multiple projects around my home, both interior and exterior. They have done projects as simple as replacing lightbulbs (I still can't believe that I didn't try that first) to renovating an old existing 220 line that used to power a hot tub and ran under a concrete pad. They have installed smart lights, installed outlets, and repaired my main panel. They are professional, reasonably priced, impeccably tidy, and the customer service is always top notch. Doug, Rob, and Xavier have all done work at my home at different times and they are all great! The pricing is always clear and I have never been charged more than I was quoted after the job was done. Truly thankful that I have such a reliable electrician to help me maintain my seemingly endless list of home repairs!
Okay, I am thankful for finally finding a responsive, responsible and respectful electrical company. Abe came by for an in-person consultation for multiple work I want done. I selected Electrical Insight because they were responsive and were able to the start the job the next day. Abe was on-time, friendly and provided best price compared to their competitors. The entire process from the initial communication, consultation, scheduling, quotes, the work done and payment were seamless.
Let me start for saying I hate to leave bad reviews but my experience was so horrible they kept my money for a service I never received and damaged my drywall for a service I didn't request. Stay as far as you can away from this company they are dishonest, half way criminals and overpriced!!
I called electrical insight to get a quote, they told me they would come over to give me a estimate, the technician who came looked like straight out of jail and high but I felt bad not to let him in so I did, I explained the job I agreed to the price and when he came over to start working we just got back from a trip we were alsleep in our room and to my surprise when I woke up he did a fan I never even told him to do and asked me for more money to complete the job. He even tried to blackmail me saying I can either pay a 1000 more or he can do it on the side for 250 my husband and I felt threatened. So we paid for the whole bill even though we didn't receive service for what we actually needed. Instead doing what he supposed to do he broke my drywall I called the owner and showed him photos, he even was surprised that we paid. He came over and said he will have some new put them on and refused to refund my money!!!! Or pay for the damages!!!
- We had a tesla charger that we needed to put in as well and we thought we could use it as credit for the tesla charger but he actually made us pay for that too, I feel we are very reasonable people and understand things can happen wrong but it's all on how you respond to problems that make you a 5 star business and this is not one of them.
After this review the owner reached to me and finally refund 500 of 800 some part of that to cover the repair. I am glad he did the right thing I just wish we didn't have to go through this to get my refund.

We had a grinder outlet issue. Electrical Insight was recommended by someone we know. Scheduling process was easy and smooth.

I purchased a sauna that required a 20 watt plug and circuit breaker. Initially a gentleman named Doug came to the house and provided me a quote. Of the quotes I received I liked Doug the best. I felt he and his company would be honest.
For the work Ian came over (on-time) and started doing his electrical thing. Once the work was completed we realized that there was an issue. I wasn't sure I needed to test the honest feeling I got so fast... Ian called Doug and we all came to a solution that was more than fair for me. It's easy to give a five star review when work is done and everything works as it was indented from the beginning.
For this job, small hiccup, Ian jumped to solution mode and between he and Doug it was a small speed bump. The Sauna is working great, my wife and I used it the first night.

Called them up for 4-prong outlet installation. Price was very reasonable. Abraham did an awesome job, very efficient, and good communication. Will call again for future projects.
I needed a thermostat replaced and they said ok, so I cancelled all the other Yelp responses. Then they told us they couldn't do it and I needed and HVAC person. It's a $50 thermostat from Lowes that hooks up to (wait for it) electricity! But an electrician cannot do it from this company.
Don't bother with them. Now I've wasted an entire day goi g back and forth with them.
Great job! The last time we had an electrician we had were a disaster. We contacted Electrical Insight and got a quote that was less than I expected. Ian came over today and not only did a great job but he finished the two outdoor projects in three hours (in the rain!) and figured out a way to avoid having to re-stucco one of our walls. Highest recommendation, we will definitely can then in the future.
We had a weird electrical issue after I flipped a circuit breaker last week. I went to Yelp to find someone to come take a look at it. The reason I went with Electrical Insight is that they do a free consultation. A lot of other electricians in our area charge just for a consultation.
When the tech came out, he was super honest with me. Gave me a fair quote to come back the next day and fix the issue, and then showed up on time and fixed the issue for said fair price.
A 5 star experience.!

Let me start by saying Robert is the best! This company was extremely professional, on time, and did amazing work. They had to rework my panel to add a 60 Amp breaker and a 60 Amp circuit for our jacuzzi. I couldn't me more happy with the work they did. I also really like their program they use to communicate with their customers service titan and Robert made the whole process very transparent. I can't recommend them enough. Great job to the whole team!
They say free estimate. I scheduled one. They then contacted me and said it would be $150 for them to come out when they found out where I lived - a 35 minute drive!
I called on Wednesday night and by Thursday noon they had me back up and running Ian was professional and speedy and everything about the service was transparent Great value and service
I recently used electrical insight to fix the lighting under my kitchen cabinets. They were responsive and got the job done quickly. They also were able to match some bulbs for me that I couldn't find in the hardware shops. I will be using them in the future for SURE!!
Robbie turned our electrical problems into a thing of the past after he spent a couple hours at our home yesterday. Professional and personable Robbie did great work with an amazing attitude of humble service. For years, we were looking for a mix of electrician and lighting technician, an expert who knows the trade from top to bottom and we found him when Robbie showed up. He worked quickly, pulled Austin in to help because once we 'knew we found our guy' we gave him more work than he planned for!
My advice, hire these guys, they won't let you down!
I am switching from gas to electrical appliances. The thought of even getting estimates for electrical work was daunting. I contacted Electrical Insight last night and they responded to me immediately with an availability to provide me with an estimate in the morning. The office called me this morning to confirm and to also let me know when the electrician was on his way. Austin was very professional, helpful, and explained everything in detail. I was surprised how reasonable the quote was and more surprised by the professionalism. I've had some shady electricians in the past who not only explained things in jargon I couldn't understand but who also gouged me with their fees. I received an emailed detailed estimate following that consult and will definitely schedule work ASAP. I will definitely be referring my friends as well.

Doug, the owner, came by today to check the wiring, GFI outlets, and corrected the problem. He gave me a refund for the issues caused with the electrical.
Electrical Insight was a great company to work with! I had a problem with the outlet of my microwave cutting out. I had called 4 electricians previously and they were all too busy for my job or just never called me back.
On the first call with Electrical Insight they scheduled an appointment, confirmed it via text, and showed up on time.
Within 15 minutes of arriving there were able to diagnose and fix the issue. My Microwave works flawlessly again! THANK YOU!

Abe was our electrical representative for the day. He was polite, extremely efficient, and provided clear, concise communication in regards to the project. He was able to install our EV charging outlet for our Tesla within less than 2 hours and same day of our consultation. The price was also very fair as I have gotten several quotations regarding this project; electrical insight was the best out of all of them. After writing my initial review I was contacted by Doug, the owner. He sincerely apologized for what we went through and said it was not indicative of the customer experience their company strives for. He sent another electrician over to troubleshoot the problem free of charge. The new electrician diagnosed the issue in 10 minutes! Additionally Doug offered to send back that new electrician to finish the original work that we wanted to have done and we did not have to pay any additional fee. The electrician arrived on time and explained to me exactly what he was going to do and did it cleanly and efficiently.
I can appreciate the commitment to customer service that this company has and would definitely use them again for future electrician needs.

Austin did my quote. On time, friendly, very easy to communicate with. Scott did the work. On time, so accommodating, honestly went out of his way to make sure I was happy. I highly recommend this company and I feel the price was fair.
Needed a wire moved in the wall where i wanted to put a pet door. Found these guys on Yelp and I was not disappointed. Great experience from evaluation with Austin through work done by Ian and Xavier. (They were a little late, but once I spoke with Ian, we worked out a better ETA). Installed a flood light and security camera also. Made sure everything was working and that I was happy before they left. Highly recommend them, plus I have another job for them in a few months.

Needed an old chandelier removed and a new one hung up. Not a biggie except this one was 20 feet up in the middle of an entryway, with no walls around to support a ladder! A couple of companies wanted nothing to do with us. Rob came by for an estimate and said no problem and gave an extremely fair price for the job.
Communication with the office staff was flawless when my appointment was scheduled and I was even texted and emailed reminders as to times and dates, very reassuring and great service!
Rob, Doug and another gentleman came out to do the job. They all were the nicest, most professional and caring folks we have ever had working on the house. Using scaffolding to reach the 20 foot height, they were fast, efficient and not only did a great remove and replace of our chandelier, they left the work area cleaner than when they found it. The work was perfect, the crew was wonderful and the price was right on. We're never going anywhere else for our electrical needs!

these guys are great! they installed a manual transfer switch for me so i could run my house off my generator if my existing setup has no juice or the grid is out!

Called Electrical Insight to come and provide a quote to install a chandelier in a recently purchased home as the ceiling was 17' high and Lowe's contractor would only go to 16'. Bill showed up, looked at the swap out and provided us with a reasonable quote. We had to schedule for him to come back two days later as he needed to bring the appropriate sized ladder for the install. That Wednesday morning, he was prompt and finished the job in a reasonable amount of time. Highly recommend Electrical Insight and Bill for any electrical needs.

We had an electrical/heat outage over the Christmas holidays. Electrical Insight was the first agency to respond to my request for help and sent someone out first thing on Dec 28th. Charles (Chuck) got to work right away and kept me informed of progress as he worked to diagnose the problem and propose solutions to get our heat and lights back.
We purchased our home last year after the previous owners had invested in a major remodel. We learned along the way as Chuck found that the previous wiring was not labeled or implemented well (maybe typical of remodeling flips?). While Chuck was not able to get everything fixed on the first visit, he made sure we had heat that night. He came back on a rescheduled visit to finish the job. What I loved about Chuck was that he really cared about the work he was doing and making sure he left us in a better place than where we started.
Watching Chuck at work persuaded me to ask him to provide us a quote on some additional work we need to be done. by now, no one else understands the wiring in this house as well as he does; and I'm confident whatever work needs to be done will be done right the first time.

I recently purchased a hot tub and reached out to several electricians for bids. Ian came out and suggested a routing from the circuit breaker through the garage that would be much less visible than around half of the exterior of the house that other places had said they'd do. They had all the right parts for the job even though there are supply shortages of my brand of circuit breaker. Ian and Austin did the install and did a nice job. They showed up a little early and completed it the same day. They put the GFCI box in less conspicuous location I requested yet still according to code (visible from the hot tub). I was thrilled to be using my new hot tub the same day it was delivered. Been working great ever since. Electrical Insight also had the best price by far and Imelda was prompt with communication. Highly recommend!

We got a quote for a full electrical panel upgrade in February, and signed the work order to begin the permit process. 2 months later (which is normal) when our permits finally came back, the company called us and said they incorrectly quoted the project, and it was now going to be $1,000 MORE EXPENSIVE. They said prices had gone up. That was a 30% price increase. I cancelled the work order. This company is ethically questionable, and does not honor their word. Beware, they could change their prices at any time, especially once they feel it's too late for you to back out.

We were out of town during some heavy rain and left Christmas lights plugged in on timers. We got back to find that two outdoor outlets stopped working so we contacted Electrical Insight for help. They sent Mr. Ian Randolph out the next day and he troubleshooted and fixed the issue pretty quick. High ball pricing. For an overhead fan installation where the bids were in the $250 to $300 range, they gave me a price of $700. Although I'm 72, I'm no idiot. Shame on them.
I did not hire this company because their price of basic diagnoses are much higher than other vendors.. started with $125 and difficult case of diagnoses are $330 up... and once customer requested to run the test, he said he clicked the iPad icon and the clock would starts he said. The labor would applied after an hour of searching what is wrong with and this company is on close monitoring on those all workers quota. I did not feel any generously as he did nothing other than hearing the problem I explained. I honestly could have done this over the phone without setup an appointment.

Electrical Insight was great to work with. Ian actually came out twice to do estimates since the scope of our work changed at some point. He was also the one to do the work which was quick and clean. Pricing wise, they were pretty on par, if not cheaper than other estimates, but with the 10% first-time customer discount, they easily beat out other electricians. I was very pleased with their work and will definitely reach out to them for any future electrical needs!
Bill, the tech did a great job and did his best to accommodate a project. He even cleaned up another vendor's slight mess inside the house. The owner of Electrical Insight was very accommodating and prepared me for what to expect on the project! Combined with a very competitive price (not the cheapest bid, but great fast service), I recommend this company!
I just had an outdoor LED light installed to light up my outdoor court. Everything was fantastic about my experience with this company - from Austin coming out to come up with a solution for our lighting issue, to the scheduling team squeezing us in on short notice, to the quality work performed on the job. I will definitely be calling them for all of my future electrical needs.
Ian installed a new 30-amp breaker and a 30 Amp Power Inlet Box. His work was clean. efficient and no time wasted. The price was half of what two others had quoted, and what I had expected it to be. Happy with the work and happy with the price.

I am very impressed with Electrical Insight and definitely will be using this company's services again. The Technician assigned to my job called in sick that day and the other Technicians were booked. Rather than leaving me hanging and needing to make another appointment, the Owner, Douglas, came out and did the job himself. This is real customer service and a business that truly cares about its customers. I am also very pleased with the finished job and the cost.

Austin is awesome! He is one of the owners. He came out and fixed our issue. I called around and this company is by far the most responsive. They were quick to get back to me. I loved how they followed up to confirm the appointment before and day of. I appreciate their customer service and the serVice they provided! Our electricity went out in parts of the house and we tried to get it back on by flipping the breaker on. He flipped it on and showed us that we had to flip it until we hear the click to off and then turn it back on. It works!!! He did not charge us for this simple fix. Learned something new. Thank you again Austin and Electrical Insight! Highly recommend them.
I messaged this company on a Friday to get an estimate for a simple job. I received a message back that they would need to come out. They offered a time on Monday, 10 am - 12:00 pm. I replied that was ok and they sent me a confirmation. On Monday, I waited until 12:00. Then I messaged the business. After that someone called me and said they couldn't come because I didn't give them my full name and email. (I had left my name in my first message, don't know why they need an email to come to an appointment that they already confirmed). They said they could come between 12:00 and 2:00. I said okay. Again I waited the 2 hours. At 2:00, I messaged again. The lady at the company said they tried to call me (not true) and someone even came by but I didn't answer the door. Again, not true. This is terrible customer service. I will NOT be using this company in the future.

We requested an estimate for a few projects we had via Yelp, my request was sent to about 7 different companies. The first to reply was Electrical Insight, I eventually heard back from 2 more. I scheduled an estimate with all, but from the beginning I got superior communication from Imelda. We booked our appointment and our technician was Bill Dynes, from the minute we met him he was personable and friendly. He gave a us a quote and guaranteed his work. The price was good and we immediately canceled the other 2 estimates. Bills work was timely and he communicated with us throughout the day giving us updates. We were extremely satisfied with his work and his customer service. We will definitely hire him again!
Robbie was very professional and did great work. He was patient and explain the process. I would recommend Robbie to anyone who isn't very savvy with electrical work.
The electrician was on time, friendly and very knowledgeable. He was able to complete my installation quickly and correctly. This business was also able to come out quickly.

The restoration company sent Chuck from Electrical Insight to find out why my circuits kept tripping and why my outlets were not working. Chuck showed up after five with a thirty minute notice. He was friendly, thorough, and reassuring. He solved all my problems in a timely manner and made a very stressful situation much better. I will be recommending this company and Chuck to all my friends. Thank you Electrical Insight!

I sent a proposal out for a simple residential electrical job - replacing a in ceiling whole house fan with the exact same model. Of the 5 or 6 responses I received only 2 actually said they do this type of work??? What exactly do residential electricians do if not replace items like this ( it is three wires), anyway I referred them to my clients because they had to see the work area. If they complete this simple job without overcharging I will change the review. But they get points for at least responding where others didn't.
Bill Dynes from Electrical insight did a great job replacing an outdoor electrical oulet today. Appt was easy to make, showed up on time, friendly, and good prices.

Booked a consultation through yelp (consultation confirmed) and took time off work. They didn't show up and when I called them they said they didn't book me because they didn't have my email. That's not how you do business.
Electrical insight was the most professional company I have worked with in a long time . The customer service was top notch .. the communication was easy. I will be using Electrical Insight in the future and definitely recommend them !

Electrical Insight showed up on time and did a great job. They quoted the project and were able to do the work in the same visit. They helped wire and install a ceiling fan. My biggest concern was that it was going to be centered and exactly where I wanted it to go. They were able to install it perfectly.
Great overall experience and they were very prompt, courteous, and professional. Bill Dynes came to our house to address electrical issues with selling our home. Got the work done in less than 2 hours. Bill was great to work with, he explained me to what the issues where and what needed to be dine . I would use them again and highly recommend them!

I would highly recommend Bill Dynes and Electrical Insight. They returned my call immediately and were able to help us out the next day. Bill came to the house right on time, was very friendly and courteous, and did a great job!
I had a job that I was hoping to get an estimate on and Bill showed up for a consultation visit just a day or two I sent out the post. After a quick look he decided he could do the job on the spot and started right away. Everything is up and running and working perfectly. When I have future electrical jobs I will definitely be calling Electrical Insight back.
This company is great. Bill came out to fix an outdoor electrical issue for my fountain and he is super knowledgeable and has a great attitude. Only electrician I've enjoyed working with. I definitely recommend this company particularly if you have outdoor electrical issues. Many companies don't want to deal with this but Bill knocked it out of the park.

Doug, Austin and their team were excellent. I'm a contractor as well and I know good work when I see it. What sets them apart is their experience and their ability to troubleshoot tough problems. They're enthusiastic about what they do and are very easy to work with. I've never had a problem getting a hold of them or having them come back to do warranty work. They also know a lot of different aspects of electrical from interior work to exterior conduit's and situations that need to be waterproof or high voltage. I would recommend Electrical Insight to anybody who's looking for a job well done.

I hired this company to connect my Sauna, and fix electrical issues left by 2 previous contractors. The issue with previous contractors were that they didn't finish the job with first one and completed incorrect with second one. Bill showed up, and made up quote. Quote was very fair and straight forward. Bill did not hesitate to do extra work to make everything fast and correct. He impressed me that he was eager to complete the job ASAP, understanding how frustrated I was, especially with second one, because I couldn't get any results for 4 months and didn't pass home inspection. Bill made my day, he showed up on time that we agreed, and within 1 day fixed all! And it was a huge volume of work. I was surprised that he didn't split a job for 2-3 days, but did prefer to work from 10AM to 8PM to make me happy. These guys had a great ethic, humor and VERY VERY professional approach. From now on, it will be the ONLY electrical company I will try to use or recommend!!!
