Sergio and Jorge did a great job on my place. They are very nice guys, always on time, and do quality work.

I had never remodelled before, and was worried that the paint touch-up work would stand out. I can't tell where the paint was touched up. Sergio did a very thorough job from installing fans to drywall work to paint, and a bunch of smaller stuff as well.

Sergio is willing to come out for jobs of any size, and I'd recommend him for sure.

Good man with a good set of finishing skills. Someone who follows through and doesn't do a half ass job on the way out.

If you are looking for a reliable, professional, kind and efficient Handyman it will be Sergio. I had a water pipe burst and first contacted several contractors who quoted expensive prices. Glad to find Sergio who was able to:
- Drywall repair; replace and installed laminate wood flooring in the bathroom; installed base molding in family room and bathroom;  installed a new toilet; new window blinds and wallpaper removal.
- Kitchen- installed cabinet hardware, kitchen backsplash, installed new sink and garbage disposal and ceiling lighting fixture.
-Family room he installed window trim, cut mesh for new window screens.
- For my backyard he cut/trim 15 ft+ high trees.

I am so impressed on how knowledgeable he is and the detailed, meticulous work that he and his assistant provided. He would also go out of his way to pick up supplies at Home Depot and left everything work area so clean.

I highly recommend Sergio. His pricing was very reasonable especially for the quality of his work. He was also very responsive with communication and was promptly on time.  I attached some before and after pictures.

Found Sergio through yelp. We had our son's birthday party coming up and needed to install some shade sails with short notice and time frame and Sergio came to the rescue! In about 6 hrs he installed 2 16.5 triangular shade sails with 3 wooden posts and attached them to the house! It turned out better than we could imagine! Will definitely be using Sergio for future projects! Thanks again!!!

We're new to San Diego and are glad we found Pelayo Handyman Services! So far he's installed two bathroom fans/lights in our home and helped us locate a hard to find part for our bathtub faucet. I felt his prices were fair and competitive compared to others in the area. He was also very professional he got the job done quickly. I will definitely call him back with any additional issues we may have and for future upgrades we're planning in our new home.

They are professional and organized. Every day they arrived promptly at 8 o'clock. They were personable and easy to work with, and kept a steady pace all day. They had great attention to detail... I told Sergio he is more picky than I am LOL. In addition every day they completely cleaned up all their tools and left the floor and everything else in pristine condition For the next day.
Another thing I really liked is that Sergio will tell you if he is not comfortable doing a particular job rather than just trying to bull through it.
He also clearly has a lot of experience in construction and is familiar with a lot of issues that come up.

I recently discovered my wood floors discolored around the toilet based and yelp around a few companies Pelayo Handyman Services gotten back to me quickly. Five plus stars on communication although he didn't work on our bathroom due to the urgency of the nature but he understands the importance of home owners problems.

Sergio is awesome! We had wanted some custom fence and door. He did exactly what we had wanted and helped improve things along the way! Made great suggestions about why something would and wouldn't work, which I very much appreciate since I don't know anything about home improvement.

Will have him back soon for more projects!

One of the interior doors in my home was damaged and I needed a handyman to replace it. Sergio was the first to respond.

On that same day, Sergio came out to my place and took measurements. He also confirmed his initial estimate, which included going to Home Depot and picking up the replacement door and trim. We agreed that he would come back the following Friday to install it.

Friday came and Sergio installed the door. Sergio was very efficient and courteous and cleaned up the work area after the installation. The door looks great. I'll be using Pelayo Handyman Services in the future.

I called and emailed and text about a dozen handymen in San Diego for a broken blind I needed fixed ASAP for one of our company's clients.
Sergio got back to me very quickly and went out the next day.  Not only that, he repaired it without us having to buy brand new blinds (which is what every other company told me I had to do.)

My client was not happy we broke her blind, however, Sergio went out quickly and was very professional. It helped smooth things over.

This review is based on the customer service, since we actually didn't get any service from this handyman. We called and left a voice message, no call back at all. I think it is because my husband talked about things that we want to get done in the voice message, they are small repairs, I guess they are too small, so no call back. Sure, no problem, taking business else where.

Sergio and his coworker were great. They showed up on time and really went the extra mile. I use contractors for my clients with my business whenever there's a need. My client purchased a new ceiling fan to replace the old one. There was an issue with the fan not working properly after being installed but Sergio stayed longer than expected to find the root cause of the problem. Everything turned out great, they got the new fan working and didn't charge me more than the original quote. I will definitely be calling him next time one of my clients needs some work done. My client was very happy with the work, Thank you!!

We needed a laundry list of random things done around the house. Sergio was up for everything. He swapped our chandelier out for a fan and light fixture, repaired stucco on the exterior of our house, built a barnyard swinging custom garage door for our detached garage, matched old pine wood paneling in our great room, regrouted tile, repaired our door threshold, fixed a door frame, and did a few minor repairs to other areas of our home. He was a reliable, and did an exceptional job. It was all done quickly and done very well. I definitely urge you to utilize Sergio and his company to help with any home repairs. Sergio was great! I had a glass sliding patio door that was sluggish to open/close and appeared to have broken wheels. I called a variety of handymen. No one was willing to help me. I guess because the job was considered small. I am pretty handy around the house, so believe me I would've done it myself if I could. That sliding glass door has double panes and over 60 pounds. Sergio was willing to come out and help me. He was punctual. He was able to get the job done relatively quickly.  I highly recommend him.  I plan on using him again for a variety of jobs big or small around the house.

I posted on here before over a year ago but I just wanted to reaffirm that Sergio Pelayo is the best handyman we've found! There is virtually little that he cannot do and if there is something that is outside of his area of expertise, he knows someone qualified who can do it! He has done a variety of projects at my house, our rental house and now my son's house. He responds very quickly, he does a great job, thoroughly cleans up any mess, is reasonably-priced and is extremely nice. He has installed ceiling fans, a security door, fixed a toilet, done electrical work, etc. He also installs garbage disposals, toilets, does drywall, etc. I am just so thrilled that I found him. Call or text him and you won't be disappointed!

Making this a 2 part review. First one is for the wonderful customer service he provided just answering the phone and booking an appointment. He was my 3rd attempt at booking these type of services and by far the most knowledgeable and friendly. I'll review again after the services have been provided.

I contacted several handyman service to take care of a number of repairs to my Home preparatory to placing it for sale in several weeks.  Most of these contacted had scheduling conflicts.  Sergio was able to fit me into his schedule in time.  I had about a half dozen jobs to do (electrical, finish carpentry, duct work, lock installation) some simple, some not, but all beyond my skill level.  Sergio and his assistant worked steadily throughout the day.  We walked through each of the jobs at the end of the day. I was very pleased with the quality of the work.  If other jobs come up before the home is sold, I'll be calling him again.

We hired Sergio to remove some seating that was built into the wall of a home we just bought so we could turn the room into a tv nook. Sergio responded to our request quickly and did a great job at a reasonable price. He was professional, kind, skillful, and patient. Oh, he also took time during his visit to teach me some handyperson stuff and give me advice for unrelated projects, for no cost! He really should be charging more for his time. :) I wish him all the success in the world with his business. Thank you for a beautiful TV room, Segio! Matt and I love it.

Top notch professional work with the best rates around. We had a bad water heater leak which had to be worked on ASAP. If you're considering any type of water heater replacement/installation from one of the big name companies on here, don't waste your time or money.. Purchase a heater at your local Home Depot & have Sergio take care of the rest. (one company wanted to charge us additional fee's for transporting our new heater up to our unit.. and additional fees to remove our older heater. WTF? Yeah, no thanks.)  Sergio can get it done at a fraction of the cost. 10/10 will definitely hire again.

Sergio is excellent. Great communication, reasonable price, professional, fast, skilled work. Repaired a door and a wall heater in the time it would have taken me to find my toolbox. Estimate was accurate and he showed up exactly on time. Highly recommended.

I am an out of state landlord so it's always nerve wracking to try to hire someone for my house in San Diego.  I had two handymen flake on me before I found Pelayo.  The 5 stars on his yelp account definitely helped me feel comfortable. Sergio was on it. He responded right away to my yelp contact request. He was persistent and attempted contact three times with my tenant before reaching her and then was able to go out the very next day.  The repair was completed within the timeline that he quoted even though it ended up being more extensive than he originally thought from the description.  I will definitely contact him for future repairs on the property.

I can not say enough good things about Sergio and Pelayo Handyman services. ALWAYS calls back, ALWAYS on time, ALWAYS fare pricing. This guy nailed the handyman business. A good handyman is very hard to find. They are normally self employed and have trouble keeping a schedule. Sergio is on point and does AMAZING work....

Sergio was referred to me by a good friend and mentor and has lived up to the full expectations of that referral. He's attentive, responsive and extremely crafty. You can tell he takes great pride in his work and cares about his clients. I've had him do just about everything under the sun so far on this project and he takes it all in stride and just gets the job done. He's extremely skilled at drywall repair, door hanging, plumbing fixes, and general construction. He's one of the most reliable contractors I've ever hired and worth every penny.

Sergio was honest, punctual, friendly and had  fair prices. He did insulation and drywall in my house. He did such a good job that I ended up using him again after the he finished the initial job that I hired him for. He was also able to braise a spigot for a hose for me no problem. I use it daily and there are no leaks.

Left 3 voice mail messages over several days for Sergio to call me for some repairs in our business facility. NO REPLY, NO CALL BACK. Some one else who actually cares about contacting new clients will be getting our business.

Sergio has been helping us for 2 years with various projects on our Pt. Loma home that was built in 1938. He replaced our old bathroom window with a nice vinyl one & did a great job re-stuccoing. He installed new shower fixtures for us also... He installed a new security screen door and also had to re-stucco around it, looks great! We needed a dryer vent installed, that was no problem either.
We plan on building a deck soon, and want to change out the base boards throughout the house...Pelayo the Handyman is who we will call!

The other day I installed a dead bolt lock on my garage door. It looked nice, but the thing would not work. It actually locked once I left the garage and closed the door, but the next morning for some reason, it would not work. All of my work tools are in my garage and I was stressing out about getting to this new clients house. I called Sergio with Pelayos Handyman Service and he made time in his schedule to come over within the hour ... and fixed the problem in 10 min! Thanks Pelayos for going out of your way. Great customer service!!!

I was having a very difficult time finding a handyman that would respond timely and follow through. Until Pelayo Handyman Services. Sergio followed through, showed up when he said he would, and completed my repairs needed. My tenant shared how nice, friendly, and efficient he was. Also, their dog did not bark at him either :) Thank you Sergio.

Sergio has done a lot of work for us around our house. What started off as a job to switch out our closet doors, turned into plumbing work, replacing bathroom fans, flattening & painting our ceilings, building a new outside fence and much more. What is also great about Sergio is that he is always on time and is so reasonably priced. We trust Sergio and can highly recommend him!

He did work on my kitchen transforming from flourescent to a different light fixture.  He is hard working and I am so happy with the results. He charges reasonable as well.

I haven't been working with them too long but they have done an amazing job every single time. After the fantastic job they did on my ceilings, I had him and his crew back to remove a rotting porch and replace it with a redwood deck around my guest house. They did an AMAZING job - it's more beautiful than I imagined! They were again very easy to work with, fast, conscientious, and came in at the price quoted.

Sergio was great! He came to my place right on time, did not have a minimum charge and was very efficient. He came prepared and finished the tasks in good time. Will definitely use his services in the near future.

Sergio has been wonderful for us.  He is always punctual, thorough and honest.  I'm impressed with the broad scope of what he knows and is able to do. Biggest job for me was a partial remodel of a small bathroom, changing out faucets from out-of-the-wall faucet to traditional, changed out the cabinet, repaired drywall, etc, and it was perfect.  Very professional look to everything he does. He's also done lots of ceiling fans, under-sink plumbing, light fixtures, curtain rods, painting, etc, for us.  When I had to show my last house in hurry, he was able to come do lots of work to make everything look really nice (color-matched cabinets that were scuffed, painted baseboards, etc).  

I never doubt his time card and I trust him in my house when we can't be here. He makes great suggestions on what will look best and balances cost w/ quality (ie, he knows if the expense is worth it for most products).

I am very happy with work performed by Sergio at Pelayo Handyman Services. Sergio was prompt on his arrival time. He performed high quality plumbing and electrical repairs for me. He cleaned up everything when finished. I would highly recommend Sergio for repairs, and I will use his services in the future.

Sergio is fast, knowledgeable, reasonably priced and does very good work.  He is quick to return calls, he is flexible in working around my tenant's availability, he is honest and he is very good at what he does.  I have been working with him on my investment properties and will continue to do so in the future.  He has done both small repairs and big ones, painting, installations, and will even purchase materials as part of his services.  Thank you Sergio!!!

Sergio is the best handyman I've met. He has worked with my two properties. He is honest and responsible for all related works. He is professional in wide range of works from floor, drain, and kitchen to electricity. His finishing is seamless till the end of projects. Can I give more than 5 stars?! Sergio is fantastic! We had gotten a handyman referral from my husbands co-worker but he called the day before to let us know he couldn't make it after all. After sifting through pages of handyman reviews I called Sergio. After telling him all the work I needed He gave me a rough estimate over phone. I called him on a Tuesday and he was able to start work Monday. Not only did he communicate via text to let me know we were still on but he text me first thing Monday morning to say he was on his way and if he could start earlier than we planned. He arrived early, I showed him all we needed, he stuck with original price he quoted over phone (which was a great price btw) and got to work. He spoke with us each step of the way letting us know what he was doing and even when he wasn't sure if what he planned would work he was up front about that. Our condo was built in 1972 and some items were original to house so he had his work cut out for him, but I loved the way he approached from different angles and made it all work. He was efficient, took pride in what he was doing, and on top of it all was so nice! It sincerely was a pleasure having him in our home and I couldn't be more pleased with the work he did (wish I would've taken before and afters) In fact he's coming back in 3 days to paint our ceilings. In talking with him I found out he's got a strong background in construction so I feel like he'd be up to almost anything you throw his way. Call him now you won't regret it!

Sergio Is the best handyman.  He is honest, trustworthy and does excellent job.  He fix and prepare my countertop for the granite to be install, he work on my cabinet and some plumbing job for my sink and last thing he work on my drywall too.  I am 100 percent satisfied and highly recommend Sergio.
