Alejandro Can Fix It

Our new fridge was slightly too tall because of the electrical housing on the top front of the fridge, which we missed when measuring the space.  We had a big dilemma because we really loved the fridge and couldn't really find another that was comparable.  So it was either settle for something we didn't like as much or figure out a way to alter the kitchen cabinet to raise it by 3/4 inch.

We went with the second option.  After calling a few places, I came across Alejandro and asked if he could help with my project.  He was very quick to respond and told me he'd come by the following morning to assess the situation.  He was punctual and very knowledgeable, going through different scenarios of how we could get the job done without creating too much work and still yielding the best result.  

It was really fun to watch and help where I could.  I ended up learning a lot from Alejandro.  

If you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy handyman with a great personality, Alejandro is your guy.  His prices are reasonable and you won't be disappointed with the result.  10/10 would ask for his help again on our next project!

Alejandro is amazing. He literally saved me when I got trapped in my bedroom, home alone, after my doorknob broke. He was the only handyman out of about 8 I called who was willing to help me out, even though he had other jobs that day. Others didn't respond, told me they were busy or told me to call a locksmith. He skillfully got my door open without having to break it open and he fixed my door to prevent it from sticking in the frame, which was what caused the knob to break. More than that, Alejandro is an extremely considerate and gentle person who is a pleasure to talk with. I will definitely be calling him again whenever I need a handyman. Thank you Alejandro!

So we have had Alejandro do so much work on our house I've lost count of the things he's done. What I can say is that we haven't found anyone who is as professional, friendly, and as talented as Alejandro. His work is EXCELLENT. The photos of the work he's done is worth 1,000 words, and we can't recommend him highly enough. He finished a cover for our pool equipment that matched the backyard perfect, is sturdy, and gorgeous! 5 stars all the way.

Alejandro is a true gem. I called about 5 other handymen before I was able to find him, and none of them got back to me or were extremely expensive. I'm so glad I kept looking because Alejandro was so responsive, sweet, and respectful. He will be a part of our business moving forward. He hung shelves that were pretty tricky, and also found a solution for a screen mount that we did not have a stud for.

Alejandro just replaced my light switch with a Lutron smart switch and he fixed my closet shelf that was about to fall off. What a great experience! So friendly, reliable and communication was top notch! He even took the time to discuss other items I'd like to work on around the house and even provided me some DIY tips as he worked. When You Find a Great Handyman, Cling to Him Like Glue!

The door which connects the garage to the house is a Pre-hung, fire rated, self-dampening/closing hinges, heavy duty steel exterior door. It has retracting hinges which if you let the door go, it closes by itself. This door was out of alignment long time ago. The do it yourselfer that I am, I have fixed it & made it work; therefore, extended its life by 5 years. Lately the lock stopped functioning & I replaced it but it would not lock! I kept on messing with it, adjust it, readjust it and even moving around the latch but it would simply not want to lock. Then I noticed that the bottom hinge just like before, is completely out, so that is why it is not aligning & it has nothing to do with the lock! So as before, I took the hinge off, shoved some wood & glue in the 3 worn off screw holes and re-screwed the hinge back tight but it still would not lock; morely, now it would get stuck & not even completely shut!

I finally gave up because the man must know his limitation. There is a thin line between do it yourself & screwing up the job! As I had extended the life of this door by 5 years & this turn around, it would not work, I just decided to replace the complete door. So, I called Alejandro Alvizuri which is now my choice of handyman and I told him to come & replace the door.

Alvizuri was dead busy but he managed to shove me somewhere in between his appointments. He rushed over, checked the door & told me, why do you want to spend a lot of money to replace this door? This is a perfectly fine door, a very expensive door. Let's first try to align it and adjust the lock. To think of it, I looked at the door & said, yeh, there is nothing wrong with this door! You see, Alvizuri could simply replace the door & make much more money but he is a type of guy which would always try to fix things before replacing. He is a straight forward, honest man which knows what the hell he is doing.

Since my last review, Alvizuri had learned much more handyman tricks & techniques. As I have mentioned in my last review, he is a school teacher turned handyman to keep his sanity from the educational system! Even though he loves teaching but he wanted to be his own boss, have his own schedule & work on his own terms. He fixed his own house, neighbors' houses & the next thing you know, he become a professional handyman! According to Alvizuri, since he become a handyman, he is happier, calmer & his mental health is even better!

Alvizuri is a lovable man, courteous, big smile, funny & he knows what the hell he is doing; so, he will not screw up your house! I told him about his last name's history & had a scholarly chat with him.

Alvizuri = Al (The) + Vizuri (Good) = The Good

Which I prefer to call him that because he is really a good man. His name is a Spanish word, originally Arabic from the Golden Age of the Arab Caliphate Colonialism, went to West Africa & mixed with the Swahili language & from there to Morocco and Spain, when Arabo-Muslims conquered Spain. That is why a 3rd of the Spanish words are Arabic & Arabic rooted. Alvizuri is originally Hispanic & Peruvian but the originality of his name is Arabic. Now you may ask, how the hell do I know all this? Because I am a historian & a linguist amongst other things!

Alvizuri kindly shoved me in between his busy schedule & returned for a 2nd time to align the door & adjust the lock. I watched him work, so I could learn something from him. I always watch contractors work. A day you haven't learned a new is a day wasted! I noticed that Alvizuri is now even more detail oriented. He used long nails, not too long to wear out the screw holes & not too short to not make the door stable. After a neat alignment of the door & adjustment of the lock, finally he made it work & saved me big money.

Alvizuri said, let me give you a friendly advice, next time, do not mess things so bad that my job would become harder to fix it! Alvizuri is a funny guy, every time I see him, we have fun chatting about everything & laughing off during the time he does the job.

Alejandro is very professional and reliable. He is always on time and ready to help. He has a wide range of expertise. I have used his help many times and he has always done a great job. This includes setting up my Ring Camera, electrical work, securing furniture with earthquake proof straps, converting a toddler bed, replacing a shower faucet and the faucet cartridge, fixing a door hinge, mounting some display cases and fixing broken drawers. He communicates well and is friendly . He is very interested in helping his customers and enjoys his profession. Definitely the best handyman I have ever met and I am picky and  rarely write reviews.

Alejandro is a true professional. He's prompt and communicates very well. He helped with removing a light fixture and installing a new ceiling fan in its place. His prices were the most reasonable and the quality of work is great. He will be my go to guy for all my projects.

Alejandro is very nice to work with. I have to reschedule my appointment with a very short notice. He is able to accommodate it. I need to remove and install a new Garbage Disposal. The job was nicely done and the price is reasonable. Will work with him again if needed in the future.

Wow.  I don't write very many reviews, but Alejandro really knocked it out of the park. He fixed an area in my bedroom that required flooring, wall repair, and paint.  The time he took to carefully get things just right, it was easy to tell he takes pride in his work.  He showed up on time, communicated constantly, and just made me feel comfortable that he would do the job well.  He even offered to fix a spot of paint where another repairman had done a poor job.  Oh, his pricing was very fair too.  If you have a job, Alejandro is your man.

You can stop your search now and hire Alejandro! Amazing communication, honest nice guy, very competitive price and got the job done quickly. Will definitely be calling him again for all my home repairs.

Update! I needed a security light installed on the side of my house and called Alejandro. He came by and after a few minutes told me that the area (well) that the electrical components go in was not deep enough for the base of the light. He said he'd have to go to the hardware store and buy a part to address this.  He came back later and was able to install the security light by making the well deeper using a thick plastic ring which he sealed and waterproofed.  This is what I call thinking out of the box and Alejandro again saved the day!

Alejandro was awesome to work with. He relocated some cabinets in my garage to make room for a home gym. Also helped with a few other pop ups that came up throughout the job. Great to work with, good communication, showed up on time, professional quality work.

Although Alejandro has not yet done the work needed, his quick response, and reasonable pricing was so appreciated. He was a gentleman from the moment he responded to my text and also when he came to our home to go over the work I wanted done before the sale of our condo. I loved his back story, his professionalism and feel so good about hiring this handyman. My only regret is that we had not known about him years ago.  I will followup after the work is completed but have no doubt I will not be disappointed. Just read the Yelp reviews!

Alejandro has five-star ratings for a reason - he can fix it.  He did some electrical work for me that was pretty complex and did a great job.  Even came back to help me with the electrical software, which was a bit tricky.  Pricing was lower than I expected and he wore a pandemic mask, both of which I appreciated.  Good to know he's around because I will hire him again when the need arises.

After using several handymen in the past, Alejandro was a find. He was polite, professional, and texted you the time of arrival. After getting several outrageous quotes to swap out my family room ceiling fan, his quote was the most reasonable and he did great job. He also redid our mailbox as the HOA wanted bigger mailboxes. Highly recommended.

Alejandro is professional, polite, and conscientious.  I will use his services again and again.  Specifically, he called me back within 10 minutes after I left a message and was able to provide a quote within a day.  He actually started the work the next day and finished it in a reasonable amount of time.  He is neat and clean; most handyman services leave a lot for me to clean up, but he didn't.

If you are in need of home repairs then you need to call Alejandro! We have spent the last few weeks working with him on multiple repairs and fixes in our home in preparation for new tenants. During his initial visit we walked the property where he asked detailed questions, took photos and notes. We were able to quickly book a time for him to come back and complete all are requested repairs in one day. We've since had him come back again for other fixes we're just not able to manage ourselves. Alejandro is professional, timely, responsive and above all he is FANTASTIC at what he does! Alejandro Alviziri is a fine professional and handyman. He practice social distancing guidelines and wore a mask from start to finish of his job. His price is so  reasonable and exceptional quality of work. I will definitely hire him again for small projects.

Wow! 5 stars out of 5. We needed new support posts on our patio replaced. Alejandro is an artist at what he does. He came up with the perfect solution for our water damaged support posts, and put in a top quality product. He is professional, intelligent, kind, and fairly priced. I have finally found my forever handyman! Alejandro helped with several projects for our rental condo - installed handles on new kitchen and bath cabinets, installed smoke detectors and CO monitors, did some painting, and fixed a window and a door. I hired Alejandro to repair a recessed light fixture in our kitchen. It was dead for a long time and just before vacating the unit we wanted to replace and have it working. Unfortunately even with a new bulb the light won't turn on.
Once again I turned to Yelp's 'Request Quote' option and received multiple quotes that ranged from $70-$200. It could only either be a contact issue or a blown out socket and the quoted prices were extraordinary.
However, I received a quote from Alejandro Can Fix It with a fair price and reasonable terms.
After a couple of exchanges we set up an appointment. I could sense his courteousness even in scheduling the appointment.
Next morning (Veteran's Day) Alejandro gave me a 15 minute heads up and arrived on time.
We exchanged pleasantries and some chit chat about schools and then he dived into work.
I noticed he was well prepared for the job with all necessary toolkits including a step stool.  
The part I liked about his workmanship was his troubleshooting skills. He proceeded in a step by step manner and also explained the rationale behind those steps. Ultimately it turned out to be a problem of simply flipping a different light switch that separately controlled that single light for night mode  but the way he 'debugged' the issue and got to that solution was akin to solving an engineering problem
Feeling embarrassed, I thanked him and also shamelessly asked him to debug my washer's drain problem. He wasn't judgmental even for a second and cheerfully accepted the assignment on spot despite his schedule.
Once again he explained the possible causes for drain issues and gave me a heads up that he could help me only with clog issues and that any drain pump problem might be out of his reach.
He reached out to the drain hose , didn't mind blowing it even though the pipe was gross and finally reached out to the drain trap where he unearthed a treasure worth 'A Dollar and A Dime' ,literally !!! There were those 5 coins that had been impeding the drain outlet all along. Phew !!!

Problems solved !!! He also gave useful tips in maintaining and cleaning the drain for longer drain pump life.
Ultimately , as stated above the 40 minutes he spent fixing the issues , was Simply Awesome  

He didn't charge me anything extra but I wanted to thank and appreciate his 'willingness to help' attitude and paid for the additional time.

I strongly recommend Alejandro for simple home jobs for his honesty, dedication and love for fixing stuff.

Alejandro is the best! He is communicative and tried to find the simplest cost effective solution. He has worked around my schedule and even been sensitive to my baby's naps. He does great work and I can't wait to have him do many more projects!
