Clarence fixed my problem in 5 minutes. Many people feel Benjamin Franklin invented electricity, not true, I am thoroughly convinced Clarence did!

That's what I got with C Read & Son Electric. Jacki does a great job organizing and scheduling the work and our two jobs serviced by Clarence were done to perfection.  

Job 1: new line into our garage door for a freezer. Clarence did a great job making a clean and professional looking conduit run from our panel into the garage and placed an outlet exactly where needed in our garage. Clarence came out to review the job, provided an estimate. On the day of, he showed up at the scheduled time and knocked out the work efficiently and within his time estimate. The work areas did not have any debris or loose nuts and bolts laying around and the panel and outlet were clean and professional looking. I was impressed. Better yet Clarence's emphasis on making sure things are not just to code but also maximum safety is reassuring. Great experience and we immediately booked him for another job.

Job 2: new j-box, outlet and outdoor ceiling fans. We are doing a massive renovation in our yard due to severe drainage issues but also to put finishing touches on our new porch area. Same exact experience as before. Clarence gave an estimate, was punctual, replaced one tired ceiling fan and added a second. He was super helpful in explaining how the job would go, placing the new fan and knocking out the work. He did a full setup that included making sure the fans were working right, including ensuring both fans worked with one remote and worked through a switch issue to ensure everything worked just right. The work ended up being less than the estimate and I was charged less - that rarely happens.

Every time Clarence is on site, he's friendly at the start and finish but while he's working he's focused and works hard. Jacki has been pleasant, friendly and even fun to talk with while scheduling jobs, working payments or sharing information.

We have more electrical work planned and C Read & Son is my go to for those jobs because I know the job will get done right and with a high level of quality and safety.

Great experience with this company! They were booked out a few weeks so we were looking for another electrician but lucky for us, they had a cancellation! The electrician showed up on time (sorry my hubby forgot his name), hung a chandelier in the kitchen and an outdoor light in an hour! He was very professional, pleasant and showed up early! A pleasant experience from the initial contact till the job was done.  I would highly recommend him.

My husband and I needed electrical upgrades badly along with replacing a fan, backyard flood light, and wi-fi switches. After getting a few home estimates, I felt the best with Clarence because not only were the prices extremely fair compared to the others, he was the ONLY one who asked to see what we purchased and went to the area of where they would be installed to make sure all could be installed without a problem. Taking that extra step was the differentiator -- Doesn't hurt to double check!

This is the 2nd time we have had C Read & Son work on our electrical needs! Both experiences have been excellent! Clarence the owner and his wife Jackie treat you like you are their priority! He is fairly priced and delivers timely service with great care and quality! He did a 72 in ceiling fan in high cathedral ceiling, front entry light (also high up) two carriage lights and installed a motion detector light all for great price!!  His wife Jackie always follows up on arrival date/ time and she returns calls quickly! Excellent customer service!!!

I've have used this Professional Electrician many times over the last 30+ years they never cease to amaze me.  
Fridays visit was no different.
Minimal distribution to the drywall (I expected much more), areas let clean & awesome customer service.  
Clarence is a top notch craftsman and always has your best interest at heart.

I had to call an electrician, after we'd purchased a new dryer, b/c our old one just quit working. It wouldn't even turn on. So we go out and spend $600 on a dryer, had it delivered. Plugged it in and IT wouldn't turn on. Obviously the dryer wasn't the problem. But my wife was smiling, she has a new dryer!

I called other electricians, but many couldn't even come out for 2 weeks. Others gave me bids, to run a 220 Outlet thru conduit, over the top of my house (Flat Roof w/no Attic) and into the breaker box.

That's where Clarence comes in. I'd received C. Read and Sons number from a local neighborhood app we use. They came highly recommended. So I gave them a call and scheduled an appointment.

Clarence showed up 2 days after contacting him. Jackie set up our appointments and he was right on time. He goes right to the Breaker box and flips the Breaker, instant trip! He comes and checks the 220 outlet. It's dead too. He switches the dryer onto another breaker and it didn't trip. He confirmed the Breaker was bad!

Now, I've lived many years and honestly, have never seen a Breaker actually go bad. So Clarence replaces the Breaker, turns on power and the outlet itself, was still dead. In that same amount of years I've lived, I've never actually seen, a 220 outlet go bad either. Especially after working, without a problem for 25 years.

With that said, what are the chances that BOTH of them go bad, at the exact same time? Especially after working uninterrupted for 25 years?

I HIGHLY recommend Clarence and will definitely use him again! He actually did troubleshooting to isolate the problem, instead of just giving me a price for the most expensive option! We had C. Read Electric out to our home recently for wiring updates, pre wire and install of 4 ceiling fans, dedicated circuits and a doorbell fix.  Jacki was amazing and informative.  She answered all of our questions, provided our bids and got us on the schedule quickly.  We could not be happier with the work performed.  Clarence was on time and extremely professional.  His work was perfection and we will continue to use this company for all of our electrical needs (next up canned lights)!

Scheduled the installation of a car charger in my garage as well as relocating some outlets and tracking down some problems with other electrical issues. We had Clarence come out to add a 220 and a 110 outlet to our workshop. He was wonderful, very professional! He even added an outlet outside on the day he was scheduled to come out that we hadn't asked about prior to his scheduled install. Jackie was great too! She set everything up for us, reminded us about our appointment and called after to see how everything was! Clarence was prompt and arrived at the scheduled time. Clarence and Jacki were wonderful in setting up an appointment, and actually were able to come out earlier than our original appt. date.   Clarence helped me with an alternative idea to provide electricity to my new Grill and also saved me about 1/2 the cost, as I did a little work myself!   I really appreciated his knowledge, assessment of the situation and suggestion to do a little on my own, and save a lot!   They will be my go to for any and all electrical needs, and I'd recommend them to anyone needing honest, thorough and first class service!   I'm glad there are people like this around!

This post is a few months late, but I want to give great kudos to C Read and Son for fixing a mess in backyard.  I did a complete make-over of my pool and landscaping, as part of this I had an outdoor ceiling fan and tv installed in my covered patio.  The company that did this work for me left exposed wiring that looked amateurish, and a poorly installed ceiling fan that wobbled horribly when set on high speed.  I won't mention the company but let's just say they were uniquely bad.  Though we had to wait several weeks (because of their high demand) it was very well worth it.  Clarence hid all the wiring and set up the everything perfectly with a remote controlled switch.  The price also was very reasonable and I appreciate that they made sure we were 100% happy with the work.  I have and will continue to recommend C Read and Son.

Clarence is a true professional and I will definitely use him (and recommend him) again for any future home electrical needs!

I recently had Clarence come out and update the electrical in both of my bathrooms. He did a wonderful job, was very conscientious about keeping my house clean, used quality parts and the pricing was very reasonable.  His wife Jackie was very courteous on the phone and asked me plenty questions to make sure I was going to get what I wanted when Clarence came out.  Scheduling was easy  and Clarence arrived exactly when he said he would. I just used C Read & Son Electric to install a 220 line and breakers for my new hot tub and they did a fantastic job. On top of that, Clarence completed the job several hundred dollars under the approved estimate. I highly recommend him and the quality of work that he does.

Quick response, good communication (plenty of notice for an unanticipated appointment time change), and overall job well done.  We had a 220 outlet installed (level 2 charger) in our garage for a new electric car. We were given the different options available (minimum standard for what we needed v the option to install larger gauge wire and breaker for future upgrades).  They worked within our budget and our new plug works great!  Overall, very happy we worked with this small, local business.

OK - this is not a review per se but a testament of their character.  

I was in a real bind to get an electrician out to my house to run a low voltage wire for my upstairs AC that went out.  I got a quote, from the AC company who came out and diagnosed my issue, of $1,500 to run the wire.  Uh, no go.  I have used C Read & Son before so I contacted them first.  They said they would love to help but they are booked solid for the next few weeks.  Well, when it is 107 degrees outside and your AC is not working, waiting is not really an option.  However, as my wife and I were driving out to get something to eat my phone rang.  It was Jacki from C Read & Son.  She said she read my dilemma and wanted to give me a call and some pointers that Clarence wanted to convey.  They told me that even though they did not know the details of running the wires from the attic, down the wall and out to my AC unit, but they did tell me what to possibly expect from someone who would be doing the work and just as important on a very rough estimate on what it would cost, tops.  So, the $1,500 was way out of line.  And they gave me a referral to another electrician. (Sorry but I did not go with them as I forgot their name and went with another company).  But with the knowledge that they provided, I was very comfortable with the electrician that we did ultimately go with and they too did a great job.  However, even though the other electricians did a fantastic job for us, C Read & Sons will continue to be our go to company for our electrical work.

C Reed & Sons are great.  I am appreciate of their expertise and fair prices.  I will call on them in the future. Like many other reviews they follow up and really organized.  I am very appreciative of Clarence's expertise.  Awesome!!

We had Clarence come to our home to quote a new circuit for an over the range Microwave/Convection Oven.  The estimate included cutting drywall so that the wiring could be run to the cabinet.   We were called the night before and our appointment was confirmed by Jackie in the office.  He arrived right on time today to complete the work.  To our amazement he was able to complete the job without cutting any finished walls.  He completed the job below the estimated price.  He left our home spotless, no dust or debris anywhere.  It's refreshing to find a company that exceeds expectations.

I had a simple fault with a GFI outlet that Jackie talked me through over the phone - saved me a call-out fee with no charge.

Having dealt with C.Read for  other work prior to this I can only say that these guys are that honest, trustworthy contractor you always wish you could find - they really are THAT good, book them with absolute confidence.

They answer calls, show up and the work was very quick and efficient.  I had two in wall light timers put in.  I was only charged for the work done and time involved.  Prices are very fair.  I will use again.

We had Clarence come out and do some work for us.  he was fast,  professional, did good work, cleaned up after himself, and was very reasonably priced.  In additionan, he took the time to understand enough the work we were asking for to recognize that one of the things two other electricians had told us was a $400 fix actually required actually no work on his part or cost to us to resolve, and was completely code-compliant.  So if you want an electrician that actually engages his brain when determining how resolve your issues in a cost-effective manner, Clarence is the guy for you.  I'd recommend him anytime and antiipcate using him again in the future for my electrical needs.

C Read and Son Electric exceeded my expectations. I had a huge two day job done. From start to finish it was excellent. Clarence came to my home to review the work and Jacki sent me an estimate in a timely manner.  I changed several things and nothing was ever a problem with them. The work was done effectively and efficiently. All my questions. We're answered from the beginning to the end.

Clarence covered anything  countertops, beds, anything that might get dirty in the process. My attic access is in my closet and he even covered over my clothes.  He returned things to where they were if he needed to  move them to do the job, and he cleaned up after himself.  Even my dogs were not a problem for him. He was respectful and knowledgable in every way.
