Established in 1960.
A- 1 Minute Key Service was started by Clarence Kessman in 1960. He established this business in California, moving to Arizona soon after. He was an honest and admirable man. Even though I knew Clarence only a short time, I could see the integrity that he brought to the profession and business. I purchases the business in 2005. Born and raised in Phoenix, I want to serve the people of Arizona with the same honesty and integrity.

Showed up within a couple of hours to change the locks. No one else could respond so fast. Handled everything by phone, making the process easy and pain free. I am very happy and plan to hang on to their phone number for future lock change outs!

Had four dead bolts decided to have issues all at the same time. Three were difficult to lock in place and one would not turn with the key at all. Spoke with Jeff. Jeff was professional, super friendly and set-up the appointment window.  Dominic arrived on time and was immediately able to diagnose the issues with all of the locks. Asked what my preferences were for rekeying or copying keys.  Dominic was polite, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. I will definitely be using A-1 for any lock or key services, as well as referring them to my friends. Also, the pricing was great - you can trust this company! Awesome service! I'm an out of state owner and I had recently acquired a property in Peoria and Steve came out to re-key my property and secured it. He was able to place a lockbox for me so that vendors can access the property. He also fixed my smart door lock and provided me secure codes for the property. He made the process seamless and easy. I would definitely use him for my other properties that I own in Arizona. Top notch service!

OMGawd where did my review go from last year? Ugh! My key broke into two pieces and I didn't have a spare. Went to the shop and within 5 minutes, I had a new key and a couple back ups. Friendly service and a really cool shop. Lots of fun antiques and any kind of key you could imagine. There was even a carousel of vintage luggage keys.

Called A1 Minute Key Service last Friday, Jeff the Owner answered the phone and I explained the problem I was having.  They were booked until Tuesday morning, but when I told Jeff I couldn't open the back door and with a new puppy being potty trained, he said he would do his best to squeeze me in Sunday. It being Thanksgiving weekend I thought that chance was probably not great, so Tuesday would have to work.   Well Sunday I get a phone call from Jeff, he's near by and happy to stop by to fix the problem.  He did a great job, fixed the back door and made time to fix another door that was giving me some issues.  I'd highly recommend A1, Jeff's a great guy and obviously likes helping his customers out a jam.

We had a dead bolt lock that was locked shut and the key would not open it. I called at nine, Mike was over by ten and quickly and efficiently fixed the lock without having to replace it.  He was polite and smart and really knew what he was doing.  I was so pleased with such wonderful service.  I highly recommend and could not have been better.

A 1 Minute Key Service was about to close when I called to reschedule an appointment. Jeff said no problem let my close up and I'll be right out to your house. There are two Jeff's at this company. Jeff #2 arrived and  fixed my lock  that was installed upside down and wasn't working. These guys are so professional and friendly. They were in and out within 10 minutes. They will definitely be my locksmith in the future. Great company!

The key to my car was a little bent and it got to where I had to jiggle it sometimes to crank using the key. I was afraid that the key could break anytime so I decided to be proactive. I called one service per yelp's recommendation. The gentleman sounded nice. Offered to come to me and make another key for $120. I just so happen to call one more locksmith that also great yelp reviews. It was A1! The gentleman told me by phone that he could make a copy for $5 but if it was bent too much, he'd have to decode it to make the copy and that would be $15. Either way, I was getting ready to pay either 24x as much or 8x as much! There was no turning back
I walked into the shop and he'd remembered me per our phone conversation. He did have to decode it but I was in and out with 2 keys in ten minutes or less! PLEASEEEE support A1 for all of your locksmith needs! The gentleman was super nice, quick and honest! I even tipped him because again I was about to pay MUCH more! Thank you A1 for your A1 service!!!!

I have two experiences with Jeff from A 1 Minute Key Service.  

The first was a five star experience.  He came out within 45 minutes to rekey my townhome after my short-term tenants took my keys with them.  He was done quickly and at a VERY reasonable price.

The second experience?  Oh, where do I start...

We had a lock where the key was sticking in it and we had difficulty getting it out.  We called Jeff and explained the situation.  He came out and did not change out ANY parts, just fiddled with it and got it working again.  He charged $145.95 to do that "fiddling"... and then said, if it stops working, then let him know and "I will come back out and take care of it".  That is a pretty clear statement as to him coming back out to fix it again free of charge IF his $145.95 fiddling isn't a long-term solution.

Well, a couple weeks later, as you might expect, the lock began sticking just as bad as it originally had been.  We called on Jeff again and this time his tune was very different.  He said that he would be out on a Saturday.  Well, Saturday came and went.  And Jeff?  Never saw him.  Called him again and he said that he would be out on Monday.  Did he show up on Monday?  Nope.

So... we called him... again.  This time he said it would be another $200 to fix the lock, PLUS another $85 for a new cylinder!  When we brought up our prior conversations as far as him fixing what he did the first time for free, he said, "who is this?"  After a brief explanation of who we were, he said, "I'm done with you!" and hung up!  

Yep, that actually happened.  Be careful with this locksmith...

Locked myself out of my office and Jeff showed up within an hour.  Prices are very reasonable and his prompt reply was amazing compared to other companies I contacted.  Hopefully I never have to use him again but if somehow I lock myself out again I will call him first.  Highly recommended.

Recently had a security door installed and the company didn't "match" the lock with our house key, so we began looking for a locksmith. Enter A 1 Minute Key Service, I called on Thurs and Michael was here on Friday and did a SUPER job re-keying 8 locks. He was on time, professional and we are happy to provide our feedback herein. I contacted A 1 because I lost the key to my condo mailbox, and the HOA said I needed to have it opened by a locksmith.  Scheduling was easy. Jeff arrived on time and completed the job in 15 minutes tops.  My cost for the service call, one key hole, two keys plus tax was $89.00.  Great experience and I highly recommend them.

Eric and Logan were at the Arizona Fall Festival in PHX , today.  They had a booth at the festival and  made duplicate keys and did numerous raffles .  I won a pad lock and it was keyed for my house.  Perfect for use on pool gate.  Eric and Logan, were friendly, upbeat and even handsome.  Logan txted me to inform me I was a winner.  Not having to be present to win allowed me to checkout other booths.  Eric and Logan have the customer service handled and the keys were an exact match and work.  Thank you Eric and Logan.  Call A-1 Minute .... you won't be disappointed.

I waited way too long to write this review.

I bought a house near downtown in January and locked myself out upon move in. Jeff came out super quickly, was awesome to work with, and very reasonably priced. In fact, I used him to rekey my entire house. He came back out with his son on time, was awesome, and gave me a cash discount

Fast forward 7 months and my boyfriend locks himself out of his townhome (also upon move in). He calls Jeff, who informs him that there's not much he can do (as it was a lock that only locks from the inside) but gave him some recommendations on how to get into his garage and said that he could come by if that didn't work (on a Sunday BTW).

Net-we were able to get into the garage and all was well. Jeff could have made some $ off of us, but gave us a great recommendation.

I found A 1 Minute Key Service through yelp, and the other 5-star yelp ratings held true.  Jeff was available to come out same day.  He went above and beyond re-keying my locks, and making minor adjustments at no extra charge.  The work he did was exceptional, and certainly for a far better rate than the competition.  I will call him again should I even need my locks re-keyed, and recommend him to everyone!

All these 300+ reviews are on target. I called A1 Minute Key Service and Jeff was able to make an appointment that fit my schedule. He was prompt, professional and personable. Jeff quickly was able to unlock my door and make copies of keys for it. The price charged was very fair and was the price I was quoted. I've used other locksmiths before and I have to say A1 Minute Key Service is absolutely the best. I would definitely use their services again!

Called Jeff to come out and rekey my locks.  I had smart keys on all the locks so he helped me with the first couple and then let me do the rest.  Great learning experience.  Gave a quote over the phone that I was comfortable paying, and came in under that quote when he arrived and delivered service.  

Jeff is a stand up guy and I would recommend him to anybody in the Valley.

I walked into A1 Minute Key Service during the covid pandemic looking to replicate an exact, specific key, down to the color. Unfortunately, I was looking for something too specific, and they didn't have the color I was looking for. However, the gentleman behind the counter was super nice and gracious even after I apologized and said I wished I could give him my business during these "uncertain times". He pointed out another locksmith (likely a competitor) that would likely have what I was looking for. I just really appreciated the gesture of him being so kind and giving business to another locksmith. If I hadn't been looking for something super specific, I would have absolutely given him my business and would highly recommend, as they seemed like good people!  And by the way, his suggestion was great and I now have  the exact key I needed. Called Jeff re. a broken lock on my sliding glass door.  He was easy to get in touch with and flexible with scheduling.  We found a mutually available time and he let me know when he was approximately an hour away.  
He was friendly and showed me what was wrong w/ the lock.  Instead of up-charging and replacing the entire lock, he was able to make some adjustments to the frame and the lock that made the key work again.  
Jeff assured me that if anything went wrong with the lock again, he would gladly come back.  I felt very comfortable and confident I wasn't being taken advantage of.
I will definitely use him again!

The guys at A1 saved my butt. We were leaving for a Weeklong Christmas trip and as we were packing the car to leave a thief grabbed my wife's purse with everything in it including the keys to the house. They responded to my home in about 15 minutes and had the whole house re-keyed in about an hour! The response time was amazing and the price for the service was very reasonable. These guys solve problems for there customers! You need a new key fob. Need a door knob for a non standard size door, they got you! Have keys that are filled and don't open your lock on the first try? They'll cut you a factory key. Outstanding, knowledgeable and nice guys!

As good and easy as it gets.  After a recent construction/remodel project, I needed the house re-keyed.  Jeff was great on the phone but better when he arrived.  After being told for years that our front door could not have the same key as the rest...he said not true and made it happen.

He also fixed some other door and lock issues he discovered free of charge.  I don't need a locksmith often, but when I do, I'll only drink, I mean use, A1.

Simply superb

With a new house come many locks to change to be safe.  Looked up the best-rated locksmiths on Yelp and called the top three.  Two made is sound like grief to come to the West Valley.  Fortunately, Jeff was a real pro and set a time with us.

We were very impressed.  He stayed true to his estimate, was fast, made us extra keys, labeled sets, and even did extra work to ensure the bolt lock was flush on a back door to make sure it locked correctly.  

Jeff communicates well, follows through, and had very fair charges.  He even interacted well with our curious little girl.  She's usually very wary of visitors.

We are sticking with him as our locksmith...

I called EARLY on a Saturday morning expecting to leave a voice message - nope! I talked to a live, friendly person; in fact, I called 3 times within an embarrassingly short period of time because of having so many questions - and every time, very friendly! I was so thankful that we could schedule an appointment for them to come to the house on Monday! (Amazing!) They also offered and worked with us to come after work hours! It didn't take long, and felt the price was reasonable. It was nice that the price was only per door - instead for for each lock. Would definitely recommend this company!

I chose A 1 Minute Key Service to re-key the locks on my house because of the rave reviews here on Yelp. I fully understand why they have such great reviews. I called them at 10:00 this morning and Michael was at my house @ 1:00. It took Michael about 40 minutes to re-key my locks. Michael was very professional and so sweet. Being a former Realtor, I have many associates that are always looking for locksmith services. A 1 Minute Key Service will be the only name out of my mouth when asked for a reference. Awesome customer service and skill. They came the same day I called them to schedule install of my new front entry door hardware and change the locks. Unfortunately there were some issues with the hardware fitting the door, as well as a misaligned hole made by my security company worker who tried to do the install initially, but they stuck with it and made it work. They even made me extra brass nice quality keys with the name branded (not those cheap crappy generic ones you get from other places that have random names on them!) and gave me a few free key chains to go with. They were perfectionists and sticklers on making sure everything lined up right, which I appreciated. Prices were reasonable, $89 included 5 keys and the install. I will definitely plan to use them again for all my other door hardware installs and locks and will never use any more unskilled workers again.

WOW!!!! Great service!  I initially selected this company based on the sheer number of excellent reviews. I like most probably thought if even 1/3 of the reviews were accurate then this is the company I will call.
Michael, the tech kept me accurately informed of his arrival time which allowed me to have a leisurely lunch as I was a considerable distance
( 1hr) from the job site. There was no need to rush then sit at the job site!

When I arrived Michael was there on time! Nice! Then came the nightmare. I had the keys to the locks that needed to be re keyed . Unfortunately  the last person in the home had secured an indoor bolt latch across the front door therefore ensuring there was no access into the home even with the proper keys! That was when Michael dug in and went to work looking diligently for alternatives way to enter the property. Due to the wood dowels in the patio doors and not having a garage door opener it seemed hopeless.  I thought we were just finished! Possibly would have to call a company to remove a window? What a mess? Not to mention the expense that would be! Stucco repair, repaint,  a new window?
Michael gave it considerable thought and found a way (after numerous attempts in the scorching heat) to get the garage door to open!
Wow! Dedication to getting the job done! Thank you Michael!
And a very special THANK YOU for volunteering to lift that very heavy 8'x10' carpet and placing it in the back of my SUV. No need to call a handyman and I was able to cut additional time by returning it to Costco on my way home.

I would highly recommend A1 if you ever have issues with your locks or need to have locks re-keyed. I have used them twice now and they have been on time, reasonably priced and  did a great job both times. Give them a call if you have lock and key issues and need work done.

Had high expectations after so many 5 Star reviews but Jeff and his son were excellent.  Fast, responsive, and solution oriented.  They went above and beyond helping me rekey my house and fixing door strike plate issues and a gate door lock.  Highly recommend and would use them again for any home lock smithing needs.

very pleased with the quick, friendly and reasonably priced work that Jeff did rekeying our front door. He was able to do the work within 2 hours of my call even though I was not in a hurry. Had Jeff come out to make me some extra house keys, and while he was here, he cleaned up and lubricated the lock, and also straightened up the door hinge.  All for $20!  The customer service and quality cannot be beat!

I called Jeff (the owner) based on the number of positive Yelp reviews his company has received. They are well deserved! He's a craftsman in every sense of the word and has an amazing customer service approach. His work was professional, candid, and without surprises. I would recommend A 1 Minute Key Service without hesitation. tl;dr

I flew in at noon from out of state to take possession of a commercial space and found out upon arriving the property manager didn't re-key the space. Our equipment was arriving five hours later. I called Jeff and asked if he could take the job. He arrived in 30 minutes as scheduled. He first reviewed all access points and consulted on changes he'd recommend. Jeff then re-keyed seven locks and scheduled a follow up visit "at any time I needed" for the work he didn't have parts to complete. In and out in less than 90 minutes for exactly the price he quoted following the walk-through. No emergency fee, no add-ons, no up-sells. Quality work and exceptional service for an outstanding price!

My husband and I needed to have a house re-keyed last weekend. I called Jeff to schedule an appointment. He was completely booked on the one day we needed to have it done. While on the phone, Jeff asked me to hold on a minute. He called his son and scheduled to have his son help us on his day off. Michael, his son, sent me a text in the morning to confirm the time. What great service! I chose these guys because their location is close to my house and they had great reviews on here. Jeff arrived at the time he said he would and was friendly and fast. We needed to replace an old lock on our guest house door, a hard to find lock size. It just so happened he had a new lock of that size in his van, and he was able to complete install the new lock in minutes. He also sanded down the box on the doorframe to make the lock fit. I'm so happy with the work he did and his friendly service. Very fair price too. I would definitely recommend them or hire them again.

Jeff does not need any more 5 star reviews but here is another one. I had a lock box stolen off a vacant house I have for sale. The bads guys had already come back and stolen the appliances but I still wanted the locks changed asap once I discovered what had happened. Jeff was out there within 3 hours of my call and he called me 45 minutes in advance of his arrival, as requested. He arrived right on time, worked very fast, cut me some spare keys and charged me a fair price, especially for effectively emergency service. I highly recommend Jeff.

I locked myself out on a Sunday afternoon.  Jeff answered my call right away and let me know he could help in less than 45 minutes.  He was finishing a job.  His van broke down on his way to help and he made sure to call me and let me know what happened and he would a few minutes late to help me.  Who does that any more?   He could have told me to find someone else but he didn't.  Had my door open in less than 5 minutes and at a reasonable fee. If I ever am stupid enough to lock myself out again, I know who to call.   Thank you Jeff and son for above and beyond exemplary service!

Jeff was there promptly and did a great job; rekeyed 12 tumblers and cut 10 keys. I had replaced all the hardware in the house about 12 years ago for style reasons, and really hadn't done a very good installation. Before Jeff left he had adjusted, tightened, and lubricated, and had all working like new. Oh, and did I mention, the price was unbelievable.

Amazing service. I sent Jeff a text at 12midnight asking for immediate assistance. He replied at 4am with these words: YES, what time?
He met me at 8:00am and he was prepared. He replaced and keyed 3 deadbolts, installed a anti-theft lock on the garage door and put locks on all the downstairs Windows. He also provided additional info on "best practices" to secure the home. He was fast, professional, personable and reasonable. Thanks to Jeff I feel the home is secure and I feel much safer.

Jeff was amazing.  After moving into our house we had a issues with some locks sticking, not having keys to other locks, a door handle not working, and wanted to rekey everything.  When I called Jeff he took the time to truly listen and, even better, gave us solutions that were less expensive than we were asking for! He could have just sold us on what I called him to do, but he was honest and provided the work that was actually needed. When he came to the house he was incredibly personable and friendly.  We would use him again in a second!

Jeff got my lock picked without damaging anything and without overcharging me. He was here within 30 minutes. Beware of other locksmiths in the valley. Two years ago I got scammed by a locksmith on yelp who charged 450 as a sort of extortion fee after successfully unlocking my door. This is a known scam. A 1 Minute on the other hand is a legitimate Arizona company that you can trust.

Jeff is a top-notch guy with top-notch services!

I somehow managed to lock myself out of my apartment tonight, without my phone, and without a shirt... luckily I had pants on! Long story short I have a security bar on my patio glass door and it fell back into position when I was outside... Anyway, with the help of an awesome neighbor, I was able to get on Yelp and get a hold of A 1 Minute Key Service. Other places wanted to charge me $90+. What a buncha crap. Jeff was busy at another job but took care of me and gave me an A+ price. He even had to drill out my lock (it was a wafer lock) and still charged me a very decent price, including the cost of a new lock.

Jeff came out to re-key the locks on my new house.  This included some locks that I did have the key to and some that I did not.  Jeff showed up promptly at the beginning of the service window and was able to quickly and efficiently re-key all the locks (all 8 of them) and provide me with a new set of keys.  He even took things a step further and ensured all locks were properly lubricated and functioning properly.  It turns out some of the locks had not been re-keyed ever, so I'm sure this minor bit of maintenance was sorely needed.  After the work was done, all the locks worked perfectly.

I enjoyed my experience with A 1 and would recommend them to anyone looking for locksmith services.

I needed the locks at my house re-keyed and called A1 because of all the good reviews on yelp. Since Jeff was not available to come immediately when I called and I had to get to work he made an appointment to meet me at my house at 7:30pm and also mentioned he does not charge after hours fees. Jeff was also very upfront with the cost that would be involved and was able to quote me over the phone.

He called when he was on his way as promised, showed up on time, and got the job done. Him and his son who came out were even able to help me get the latch on my alley gate up and running again! They were very nice and professional and were able to get the job done even though there were a few kinks with the types of locks I have. The fees are reasonable and it all cost much less than me buying new locks from Lowe's and replacing them myself.

I would highly recommended them to anyone in the future! Call A1 before you call anyone else!

Jeff really doesn't need one more 5-star review, but here goes...

I didn't even think about changing my locks until I've lived in my house for a few days and realizing other people might have those same keys. Not the most comforting thought. So I took a spin in Lowes whereupon I discovered that replacing my current good-looking locks will cost me 36 each...not the most affordable option. Plus there was one deadbolt I could not get off of the door without possibly destroying the door and/or my hands.

Enter Jeff. I called him and he actually told me it would be cheaper for me to take the locks to the hardware store for rekeying. He actually wanted to save me money! But that option was closed to me since all my stuff was in the house. Jeff provided me an honest quote over the phone based on what I needed done, and came out that very evening. He was professional, courteous, and humorous at the same time so I never felt uncomfortable in the slightest. Not only did he provide me with rekeyed locks that were impossible to pick (his words), but he also tightened my door hinges and sanded down some parts so that all locks engaged smoothly. At no extra charge!

The total bill was less than half of replacing all the locks myself. Jeff is my go-to guy if I ever need a locksmith again.

A 1 Minute Key Services were on-time, courteous, and straight-forward.  I initially spoke with someone over the phone and then my phone number was passed to one of the technicians who was out in the east valley.  The man on the phone stated that the technician would call you when he was on his way and that I should expect the technician to arrive in approximately 1 hour.  This is exactly what happened, the technician (Nick) showed up 1 hour later and I showed him my problem.

I had a security door deadbolt that was locked and would not unlock.  So I could not enter/exit the front entrance to my house.  And with company coming over in the evening, I had to have this fixed so that people didn't have to enter through my garage.

The deadbolt was probably 25 years old, and as Nick inspected the issue, he showed me that there was a piece that was missing and thus not allowing it to unlock from the locked position.  His suggestion was to either fix the lock or replace, but his emphasis was on replacing with a new lock because fixing this lock may only bandaid the issue and it could happen again.

So, I asked to replace both the deadbolt and the door handle to the security door, because replacing just he deadbolt would cause me to have 2 mismatching pieces on my security door.  I then asked if he had bronze/antique deadbolt & handle.  Nick said that he did not have them on hand, but one of his colleagues who was close by did.  So Nick went and got the bronze deadbolt and handle from the other technician.

Nick easily removed the old lock in a jiffy, then he replaced both the broken deadbolt and the door handle with my new bronze/antique deadbolt & handle.  

I really appreciate the work and the courtesy the Nick showed me throughout the process.  I felt that he was honest and straight-forward with me about the issue and what he thought the best solution is long-term.

I also appreciated that they were able to swipe my credit card using Square, giving me security that my credit card number wouldn't be compromised.

Thanks A 1 Minute Key Services.  I will certainly use you again with any locksmith needs I have in the future.

Jeff is the Michael Jordan of locksmiths.   He has masterful moves, super "lock-vision", and my hero.

After my many agonizing trips to Home Depot to re-key the locks, Jeff obliterated the opposition (the lock?).  It just took a phone call and he was at my house 30 minutes later.  He was thorough, friendly and knew what he was doing.

He takes cash, checks or credit cards and a "lock" for the locksmith Hall of Fame.

This company is the best!  I couldn't believe it, but I Iocked my petsitter out of the house by locking a lock that doesn't have a working key.  I called A 1 Minute Key Service (from Chicago) and they were out to my house in Surprise so fast I couldn't believe it.  They let my petsitter in and then gave me a new lock for the one that wasn't working.  I don't know what I would have done without them as I had pets inside the house that needed medication.  I would recommend this company without hesitation.  

Also, the cost was really reasonable!  Thanks A 1 Minute Key Service!!!

Needed my house re-keyed. Jeff answered the phone right away, gave me a lot of flexibility in appointment times, and an accurate estimate upfront. He texted me with an estimated appointment window and updates as he got closer. Once at my house, he was able to rekey my locks and cut new keys in about 10 minutes. Overall a great experience. Hopefully won't have to contact him again, but definitely recommending to all my friends and family that need a great locksmith!

Fast and professional service!  Jeff was great and we would definitely use him again.  We needed 4 doors rekeyed.  He texted on his way so we would have an eta. His pricing was upfront and very reasonable.  He had all the doors rekeyed quickly and even repaired a tough to turn deadbolt at no extra cost.  He really knows his stuff and was super efficient.  5 star service for sure!!

Jeff came out on time.  Took him a couple hours to finish the job.  

I hope I don't need to use him again but if I do I would certainly call him up.

He charges:
$45 for showing up
$10 per cylinder (double keyed locks have two)
$2 per key

He also accepts all credit cards.

I'm not sure if this is good or not but I do know you can save some money if you go to the hardware store but then you have to hassle with taking the locks off and putting them back on.  Normally I would do it myself but time was a factor.

I figured that 200+ reviews couldn't possibly be wrong ... and they weren't.  Jeff was on time, professional and did great work, all while being respectful of my time and home.  He pointed out that three of my doors needed key locks on the inside to avoid someone breaking the glass and just turning the lock, while three other doors had key locks which could be just fine with turn knobs.  He just exchanged them for no additional charge.  Wouldn't recommend anyone else!

About a year ago had the keys changed in my rental and also fixed some deadbolts.  Prompt, reasonably priced.  No big deal.  However, last month, my tenant in Maricopa called, the garage deadbolt was stuck and she could not get to her car.  I texted her the number of A1 (I was just beginning a two hour meeting) and by the end of my meeting the repair was done.  I never even left the meeting!! Now that is service!!!!

We are so happy we called A1 to re-key our locks. Their prices were competitive and they were great to work with. Michael was excellent in helping fix our doors so they aligned better and closed without us having to lift up on the handle. While you never plan to get locks re-keyed, I would definitely call A1 next time and will refer them to anyone who needs a locksmith.

Great communication, showed up fast, got into my home in less than 5 minutes and went ABOVE and beyond what I payed him for. Ended up aligning my front door lock, put batteries in my keyless entry and made me a few spare keys for free. I'm a father of a daughter who had security issues on the other side of the valley.  Ex boyfriend stole her keys... great.  One call and Jeff was quick to respond, changed all of the lock in her house and made sure that she was safe and secure.  I wouldn't call anyone else for key issues.

I forgot the guys name unfortunately  (so sorry) but the  owner I believe is who came, was very professional, understanding of the situation and was able to perform his work in less than 20 min. I had locked myself out of the house for being in a rush unfortunately and he showed up, replaced my entry doors key cyl and all was good. He was called to another job and ended taking less than he originally charges just cuz I didn't have enough cash on hand. I owe him for that but will def consider him again in the future if services are needed.

Eric and Jake were absolutely amazing. We had our house keys stolen, and they showed up on time and helped us rekey 6 different doors. They were able to help us fix two doors that had busted cylinders. Each door had a a different key, and now we have 1 key for the whole house. It's amazing. Both technicians were knowledgeable, fair, and honest about the services they provided. The best part is, the PRICE. They were transparent with all of their pricing, and it's the lowest bid we received after calling a few different locksmiths. It's rare to see quality service with low pricing. I would highly recommend this company.

I needed to re-key my entire house, so I looked on Yelp for recommendations. Jeff had so many great reviews that I gave him a call. Not only was he very courteous over the phone, he also gave me advice on what to ask other locksmiths should I decide to get quotes elsewhere.

Called him at night and he was out first thing the next morning. 13 locks later, I couldn't be happier! Price was great and service was totally excellent!! There are not enough good things I could say about him or his service! He even fixed the doors where the locks did not run smoothly in and out.

My wife and I locked ourselves out of our house and called for some help. I didn't catch the gentleman's name but he was incredibly nice and up front, giving us the time it would take for him to get to us and letting us know that if we decided to go with someone else who could get there sooner that it'd be okay, while giving us tips on what to look out for to avoid being overcharged. We ended up being able to finagle our way back in but he still called a while later to check on if we made it in okay. Although we didn't end up actually using his service I could tell he was a really genuine and honest guy. Give him your business!

I locked my keys in a new Condo and was mad because of past experiences with locksmiths. Called Jeff and was quoted a discounted cash price over the phone which is rare for this business. Was quoted arrival in less than half an hour and he showed up early. Did the paperwork and opened it up very quickly. Expected him to tell me it was a difficult lock and that it would be double the price. But he asked for exactly what he quoted on the phone! What?!? An honest locksmith? Amazing! Jeff and his son came out to our house to do a rekey.
They both were so professional and fast. We even had movers moving stuff in and they were out of the way and courteous to that. I would recommend them to anyone. It's hard to find trusting non scammers Jeff is by far a professional hard worker!  His prices are very reasonable and even came out on a Saturday without any extra fees like other locksmiths charging $50 extra for weekends. I can't say enough about them!

Dealing with an estate issue and turned to Yelp for assistance finding a locksmith to rekey several (really old) locks on a property. Found that A-1 had almost 300 solid reviews so it was really a no brainer.  Jeff was available exactly when it was convenient for my schedule, did an outstanding job, and charged a very fair price. This was "old school" customer service.  Had the opportunity to talk with Jeff a little during the job too, he's a good guy, and I would not only recommend this company to friends, but will use them exclusively in the future should I need the service. . .

There is a reason that this guy has so many reviews and still has 5 stars. I have never encountered someone that is so passionate about what they do and still manages to focus on customer service. Knows his craft like the back of his hand and understands how to deliver on his expertise. This will probably get lost in the number of reviews but there is a reason there are so many 5 star reviews. Not only is he the friendliest tradesman I've ever met, he knows his industry and knows how to act professionally. We had to call him to change locks on an eviction, which is never a fun experience. But arriving before us, he knew to park around the corner until we arrived and uses an unmarked van to avoid issues. Then he walked us through the process, was cordial with the tenants (who were sill moving out), and perfect in executing his job. On top of it all, he was the least expensive locksmith I have ever hired! Truly a fantastic experience.

Yelp comes through again.

Just bought a house and needed the locks changed. I never knew you could re-key locks, I always thought you just buy new ones from Lowes, but happily there was an option. When I searched Yelp to see who looked good, one company was miles above the rest. A 1 Minute Key Service was the highest rated. I noticed that many of the reviews were from people with only 1-3 reviews, which in the Yelp world, doesn't always mean they are legit. After meeting Jeff and having work done, what I now realize is that these are people who aren't on Yelp, but liked Jeff so much they joined JUST to do a review about it.

After doing my research I called Jeff to make an appointment. Jeff is the owner and master locksmith, and he answers the phone directly. He answered my numerous questions, and had a very nice, laid back way about him. I made an appointment for him to come out on Saturday, the day after I moved into my new home.

I moved into my home Friday night, and while I was bringing in boxes, the door to the home swung shut as I went back to get more boxes. As I walked back to the door I noticed that the bottom lock was locked. Ugh, annoying- grab my key and unlock it. Oh shit. My key (the ONLY key I got) was on the kitchen counter top, and I was locked outside. I tried every door, and sure enough- I was locked out of my house, on the first night, at 10:30pm. Pretty much I was screwed. Oh yah, also my phone was inside and I had no way to reach anyone, and I don't know about you- but I don't have ANY of my numbers memorized.

I went to my neighbors house (Hi, I just met you, now I am locked out- may I use your phone? Ugh.) and used the phone. I asked my kind neighbor to pull up the number for A 1 Minute Key Service, and I called Jeff. Jeff answered and was so nice, and kind of laughed and said he would be out to help me within 40 minutes. As a new homeowner, I was really worried about how much this was going to cost me, but then again- what choice did I have?

Jeff showed up and was just great. He got me into my home in a matter of minutes, and could not have been nicer. He kept reassuring me that there are much worse things that have happened than what I did, although I felt really dumb.

The most amazing part is the price. Jeff told me, "You know what, I'm already coming out tomorrow- let's call this part of that service." I was BLOWN away by that act of kindness.

The next day Jeff showed up as promised and changed out all the locks. He was professional, fast, and explained everything. I  cannot recommend him enough- he is amazing and it's so cool that someone is so great at his trade. Do yourself a favor, and put his number in your phone- you'll need it eventually.

Yelp comes through again!

I bought a house and needed to get the locks changed, so I went with Yelpers over my realtor's recommendations. Based on the reviews, I called Jeff on a Tuesday and set up an appointment for the following Friday.

Jeff was on time and friendly. He immediately popped the cores out of all my locks and re-keyed them in his van, which is sort of a mobile locksmith shop. He did seven cores in about an hour.

I got to talk to Jeff quite a bit while he was working, and it's clear he's a perfectionist (in a good way) who takes a lot of pride in his craft. He double checks to make sure all your locks look nice and function properly. He's well organized, and his prices are reasonable, especially given the quality of service.

Jeff also warned me about scammers who send out untrained servicemen and charge ridiculous prices for a hackneyed job. If a so-called locksmith goes to work with a drill, tell him the deal's off.

I 'm so glad I called this guy. Jeff showed up within a couple of hours of my call. He was able to figure out exactly what was wrong with my lock after asking me a few questions over the phone. Plus, he gave me a rough estimate of what it would cost to fix it over the phone.

When he arrived, he was friendly and got right to work. My front door handle and dead bolt were good as new within 30 minutes and he charged me fairly (same as he guessed over the phone).

hm. Maybe I just caught him on a bad day, but the person at the counter was not all that friendly. We literally walked out the door and started talking about how unfriendly that experience was. But the price was good, and it was very quick service. I only had a couple keys made, so I guess I didn't see the full fledged capability of this business. I'm sure I will try again someday... when I need another key.

A-1 Key Service was referred to me by a neighor.  Jeff came out 2 hours after my call to them.  He went above and beyond, after hours, to fix my lock problem.

I found Jeff on Yelp. I  closed escrow on my house on Friday, and moved in on a Saturday. My agent recommended I have the locks changed on the doors, since we didn't know who had access to the keys so I called Jeff on Thursday, 1 day before closing.

He explained to me it is $10 a cylinder, and that he would tell me how many cylinders I had so I would know the exact price.

Jeff came on time in the window I requested with his Son and another gentleman. They were practically running they moved so fast.

They fixed the locks, cut me 5 new keys and charged me  within 15 minutes. The price was very reasonable. I will def call Jeff if I need another locksmith.

Really, who finds their locksmith off of Yelp?  Let me tell you---great idea!  Jeff went above and beyond to deal with my lock issue.  (Including, coming back a second time, so that I could gather info before he added a lock.)  And his prices were completely reasonable.

Side note: He didn't know that he had a good yelp review out there and seemed quite touched by it.

Called Jeff to have 9 locks changed out on a home we just purchased.  He actually answered his phone and didn't get a recording to call me back!  Jeff came out same day rekeyed everything and noticed the deadbolts and handles were installed backwards by the original owners he corrected all of that at no additional charge. Keys locked in my car flat rate of $60. When they arrived, he and another gentleman jumped out of the van & started working on getting my car unlocked. At first I thought it would be a little tricky, because my unlock button is in the middle console near my raido, (not on the side panel of the door like normal cars), But this was not a problem with these guys, they were professionals. They knew what they were doing and were able to get my door unlocked in the matter of minutes.

Excellent Service! Fast, Friendly, and Professional! Jeff went above and beyond trying to fix the  lock on the Arcadia Door in my condo build in the 1960's.  In the end he couldn't do it simply because he couldn't get the parts for the vintage lock mechanisim.  I have faith that if he had access to the parts he needed, he would have fixed it in a jiffy.  Jeff refused to charge me as he hadn't fixed my lock.  That is what you call integrity, and Customer Service!  I will use A 1 Minute Key Service again, and will gladly recommend them to anyone!  Thank you, Jeff!!

Got locked out of my house on a Sunday afternoon in June - so needless to say, it was 110 degrees out. I called and spoke with the owner who informed me he would call one of his guys and get back to me ASAP. I received a call within 2 minutes and was quoted approx 30 mins until arrival, and $85 cash to unlock the door. Craig was out locksmith. Very polite and professional. We were back in our house in no time!
I didn't take the time to shop around for prices so I'm not sure if they have the best deals or not, but the ease and quickness of service made it worth while!

I just moved into a house and wanted to get all the locks changed. I called a locksmith that my realtor suggested and that guy couldn't even make an appointment. As he put it "Wednesday is too early to make an appointment for Friday. Call me Friday and I'll let you know if I can come out."
Eff that! So I jump on Yelp search for locksmith and find the great reviews for Jeff.

My husband called Jeff on Thursday and he gladly made an appointment for 8am on Friday.

Jeff showed up on time and gave me my options and he got straight to work.

He is a friendly guy and only charged $105 to change out four locks.

I found his professionalism, friendliness and prices to be awesome! If I ever need a locksmith again I would call Jeff.

My wife and I moved into our new home and had plans to replace all of the locks. After reading about the fantastic reviews that Jeff received I decided to try having the old locks rekeyed instead.

My wife called and made an appointment with Jeff. He arrived on time and quickly set to work getting us fixed up. He rekeyed our locks and also explained to my wife about some of the security features on the doors and locks as well as teaching her how to change keys in the event we needed to (as well as leaving us a set of spares). She mentioned that he had to take a call while he was here working and set up another appointment after he was done with ours. She said he never rushed or tried to cut things short.

Completely professional and really friendly and patient. We will definitely call on him again when we need him.

I needed new keys for my front security door. In addition, both my front and back doors were uneven due to heat/warp.

I went to Yelp. I first called a business that's since closed. Then I called A1. Jeff was busy, but took my number and called me back within a half-hour.

Since I wasn't in an emergency situation, he came the next day. As promised, he called a 1/2 hour before arrival. He charged me exactly what he told me to expect and the work was excellent.

Absolutely excellent service!  I highly recommend.

Jeff showed up when he said he would (actually he was 10 min early) and went right to work rekeying all of my locks.  He was fast, friendly, professional, and his prices were fair.

What I really appreciated (and what I think went above and beyond the call of duty for him), was that he noticed my back door was sticking and it made the door hard to lock.  I had to slam it (really hard) in order to be able to lock it.  He noticed this and asked me if I wanted him to fix it for me (YAYYYYYYY!!!)  of course I did!! (I have no fix it skills)  I had this evil sticking door for a very long time and he fixed it in about 10 minutes.  He didn't charge me extra to do this, he just noticed it needed to be done and he did it.  Freaking awesome!

He has a 10% discount deal on yelp if I mentioned that I saw him on yelp.  There was no way I was going to ask for or bring up a 10% discount after he fixed that back door but he asked me where I heard of him and I told him yelp.  He said you get a 10% discount.  I said that wasn't necessary but he gave it to me anyway.

You can tell when someone takes pride in what they do and this guy is the real deal.

I recently purchased a foreclosed home and wanted to make sure all the locks were changed. I called Jeff last Thursday to see if he could swing by on Saturday while I was moving in. I thought He would have no problem re-keying about 10 locks. Of course none of the locks were of the standard variety and Jeff had to put a lot more time in than he planned.

My husband and I just purchased our home and the very first thing we did was to rekeying or changing the lock.  

We found Jeff from A 1 Minute Key Service and he came within 2 days to do the job.  He was very professional and honest; he reduced the fee due to miscommunication on our location.

Jeff and mike, his son, rekeyed 5 locks, put in a new one and make us copies for the keys.  They completed the job less than 2 hours.  Jeff was able to 'combine'  and reduce 4 different sets up keys into 2.  The price was very reasonable.

This is my first ever Yelp review; but this guy is THAT good.  Jeff, owner of A1 Minute Key Service just wowed me with his locksmith prowess.  In 35 minutes, he repaired a lock by first using a demel saw to notch a problematic screw to remove the lock mechanism.  He then replaced the deadbolt, re pinned and lubricated the lock, replaced the door latch and screwed the threshold down so the door would close without rubbing.  All this for 1/2 of what other locksmiths were ESTIMATING the price to be, but they would not commit to it as "every job is different."

If you're looking for someone you can trust, look no further.  He's great at what he does, very professional, friendly demeanor and as the owner, has every reason to be honest to ensure his business succeeds.

I thought I had done a review for Jeff the first time I used him more than a year ago. To my disappointment, I realized I must have forgotten to go back and write it (I originally found him on Yelp).

I've just used him again to rekey my whole house, and there are not enough nice things I could say about his service, timing, execution - he's just fantastic! Not only has he showed up on weekends for no additional charge, both times I've used him, he has just gone above and beyond my expectations. Outside of being a great locksmith, he genuinely seems like a nice, caring person. He also has what I think are VERY reasonable prices, and it's a no nonsense process. I couldn't beat his cost on a Saturday afternoon to change the locks myself.

I will definitely use him for any future needs, and I have already recommended him to several friends.

Jeff is honest and really good at what he does. This is a shady business and to come out on a Sunday eve to a home I was staying at to replace the key (I lost) w a new lock and key for under $100 is probably UNheard of. Probably would have paid $300-$600 elsewhere. Be cautious.

I was skeptical about all the great Yelp reviews -- I mean really, we're talking about a locksmith here -- but it's all true!  I needed all my locks re-keyed so a single key could open front, garage, side, and back doors.  Jeff came out the same day -- arrived on time -- and delivered the goods at a very reasonable price.  

Even though one of the existing locks had a different length of key (6-pin vs 5-pin) he was able to key it the same as the others.

Great service, and probably cost the same or less than buying all new matching deadbolts at the hardware store, not to mention the time I would have spent installing them all.

Besides all of that, Jeff is a really nice guy and I enjoyed meeting him.  Definitely will call him again next time I need a locksmith.

I needed a new advanced keyless entry fob programmed and the dealership wanted way more money to do it than I thought it was worth so I checked with some local automotive locksmiths. A1 came in with a very reasonable quote and have a storefront in central phoenix that was easy to find and avoid any mobile service call expense. I went in during my lunch break and they had me all taken care of in about 15 minutes. I would highly recommend them.

Absolutely, "woo-hoo, as good as it gets," but Jeff deserves more than five stars--I'd say no fewer than 10. He saved us a good chunk of money, completed the work like a true perfectionist who places the highest value on customer service and satisfaction, and made me laugh. Really, it doesn't get better than that.

We needed a keyed lock installed on an old Arcadia door, and other locksmiths I spoke with gave me the impression that our only option was replacing the existing handset. Jeff, however, said he'd have to see the door before he could recommend a solution. Well, he looked at it and said that all we needed was a keyed cylinder added to the existing handset, saving us money on both time and materials.

Even though the retrofit, because of the door's age and the condition of the door frame and track, took longer than he'd originally estimated, Jeff didn't charge more and worked through the challenges patiently and persistently and with good humor, and he taught me everything about the door and the lock that he could along the way. The new keyed lock looks and works great--and I now know how to clean an Arcadia door's track.  

More and even bigger thanks to you, Jeff! And thank you to all of the previous Yelpers for making me aware of A1 Minute Key Service. We have found our locksmith (woo-hoo, indeed)!

Jeff is a nice person. I called him to get a quote for a old arrow deadbolt removal, the kind that has hidden screws. I told him as new struggling homeowner I did not have a lot of extra cash.
Not only did he offer a great discount to do the work but he walked me through the process of removing it, FOR FREE, over the phone. I was then able to break the lock off myself, saving me money!!
Needless to say, next time I need any kind of locksmith work done, it will be Jeff that I call. Today he made a loyal customer.

Bought a new house and needed several locks rekeyed in somewhat of a rapid fashion. Jeff answered his phone on the first try, gave me flexible hours of availability, and arrived precisely when promised. Look no further, A1 is the only call to make for a locksmith. I saw their information on my realtor's website and called after reading a few reviews on yelp. They have straight forward pricing and flexible scheduling.  During my appointment Jeff and his son were awesome, friendly, funny and completed the work efficiently.  They fixed a couple of doors that weren't aligned correctly and tough to lock.  I'll be calling them in the future if anything comes up, they definitely earned a loyal customer.

I just purchased a new home, in in the process was starting to feel like good old fashion quality customer service was a lost art.  My experience with Jeff at A 1 had the potential of adding to this impression.  Jeff made a mistake and missed the first appointment we had scheduled, in-spite of this I'm giving him four stars because HE MADE IT RIGHT!  He apologized!  He was super flexible and accommodating to reschedule, he went out of his way when he did make it out to do the best job he could and provided great service.  All service oriented business could learn from Jeff.  When I need a locksmith in the future I'll remember to call A1!

My significant other lost er, 'misplaced' my keys so I decided it was time to re-key our 3 access doors. Jeff came out within an hour or so and completed the process in 30 or 40 minutes even though we have a couple of higher security locks and it took a little more time than a normal lock. After trying to contact numerous locksmiths when I embarrassingly locked myself out of my house near midnight, I luckily got through to A 1 Minute.  Eric showed up within 20 minutes and helped me get back into my house within just a few minutes.  He re-keyed the lock I had the issue with and was absolutely so professional and efficient, especially for a midnight call.  This was by far the best customer service I've received in a very long time.  I will recommend A 1 Minute to anybody in need of keying or locksmith services.  I'll also be going back to them should I have any lock and key needs in the future.  I highly recommend A 1 Minute Key Service.

I read a previous customer described this saint as the "Michael Jordan of locksmiths."  I had worked the night shift, was dead tired after 12 hours of work, it was 7.30 AM, and my key snapped for no damn reason.  I couldn't find the landlord and didn't have a spare.  

Not only did Jeff quote me up front (something other companies couldn't do), his price was at least 50-75% cheaper than these other scam artists charge.  He showed up at the exact time he said he would and worked efficiently.  If I could give him 100 stars out of 5, I would.

I called because I read so many good things about this service on Yelp. Jeff answered and helped me right away. I asked for a quote and that's what he gave me, no pressure to buy anything else. He just offered to make an appointment if I wanted the next day and I was happy that his rates were not higher on the weekend so I made an appointment. He was low key but knowledgeable and said I could buy the lock myself or for just about $5 more he could bring it. Straight and to the point, A 1 Minute Key Service is the best locksmith service I have ever worked with! Jeff is a great guy, extremely nice, very professional, very helpful, and he knows what he is doing. Not only did Jeff do an outstanding job changing the locks at my new house, he was on time, extremely friendly, and fit me into his schedule at the last minute. I personally know a bit about locks and pick locks as a hobby on the side. Upon my request and without hesitation, Jeff set up my locks in a manner to make them more difficult to pick. He also schooled me on a number of different lock technologies and lock picking techniques as well.

If you need locksmith services, Jeff is your guy, look no further. He offers the best services for some of the best prices. I would highly recommend Jeff to friends and family without a second thought. I don't see any reason to use any other locksmith service in the future. Give him a call!

Picture it; Friday morning 8 AM, bags are packed for 4 PM flight. Boyfriend is out of town. Pet sitter has the spare key. Bags are packed inside the house, and I attempt to leave for a hectic half-day at work. Then my adorable hello Kitty key breaks off in the lock as I secure my front door. I scramble texting friends and try breaking in through the back but nothing works. Thankfully yelp led me to these guys. Jeff answered and was helpful, friendly, and resourceful. Within 15 minutes I had help. I had a new key and a lock that functions better than it had before, and I still made it to work by 9 am. And, while I owe them much, the price was so so reasonable. These guys are so amazing, I wanna break keys off in all my friends' locks so they call and give them business.

We were looking for a locksmith to rekey the doors to our house. We found Jeff and A1 on Yelp! and were impressed by all of the positive reviews. Based on our experience with A1, the glowing recommendations are well deserved.

We called Jeff and set up an appointment for him to come out to our house the following day. He was friendly and professional. His prices were lower than a competitor and incredibly reasonable. He had the job done in just a few minutes.

We *tried* to change our own locks when we moved into our new house. When we failed, he came over right away and fixed our broken lock. It's kind of like when you have to go to the real haircutters after you butcher your own hair. Came in half an hour and fixed it a half an hour after that. A job well done!

Use Jeff as your locksmith. He is trustworthy and did a great job. We moved into our new house and wanted to get all the doors rekeyed. Jeff pointed out our front gate needed a stronger lock or else it could be opened easily by someone sticking their hand through the slats. I appreciated his input and we changed that lock too. Jeff worked hard and is reliable. We spoke the day before his service call to confirm his arrival time, then he texted before he arrived to confirm he was on his way. Jeff arrived with his son to my home on a Sunday morning very soon after my call. He was friendly, and he was teaching his son a bit of the tools of the trade. His son actually opened the lock (in under 15 seconds, using manual lock picking tools.) The price was fair ($50), the time from call to arrival quick, and the general service was great. Jeff owns the business, he's the one that takes your call, is the one who shows up, and is the one who does the work. He even made me a new key, right on the spot, for free. A great guy, and I will recommend him to anyone that asks.

I have used Jeff twice now, and I would highly recommend him. He genuinely remembers who you are. He is extremely helpful and goes the extra mile to fix things, (my front door did not latch correctly on both locks and he fixed them as part of the re-keying service he carried out).

I've used a few locksmiths in the past and all have been acceptable but that's about it.  Jeff, on the other hand, effin ROCKS!  I called him to rekey all of the locks in my house on a Saturday afternoon.  He agrees to come over in an hour and a half.  Same rate on weekends as during the week.  He was running 15 minutes late and called me prior to let me know.  Courtesy goes a long ways with me so I am liking this guy already.  

Jeff shows up at 2:45PM and is ready to roll.  I have Baldwin deadbolt locks that key on both sides.  They are a bit sensitive to say the least.  9 locks and 6 keys and 10% discount for mentioning Yelp.  One lock is really old and he made it work after spending an extra hour on it for no additional charge.  He cares that the work is done right and the customer is happy.  He makes your keys on site and they all work perfectly.  Extremely nice person, exceptional service, great skills and he will treat you right.  Thanks Jeff!

Called Jeff this morning after getting a TOTAL OUTREGEOUS estimate from another service.  Jeff arrived just when he said that he would.  He was prompt, prfessional and a super nice guy.  Did the work plus more with VERY fair and reasonable rates.  I WOULD RECOMMEND JEFF VERY HIGHLY.  He is extremely HONEST and Fair.  A TERRIFIC GENTLEMAN.  Thank you Jeff.

I own a small restaurant and recently, while out of town, I had reason to need all of my locks re-keyed and several padlocks replaced.  I called Jeff from 3000 miles away and he was at my business within a few hours.  He prformed everything I asked of him and did so in a very professional manner (according to my staff) with no disruption of business or disturbance of my guests.  When I needed to call him back for one or two minor details he responded immediately.

Based on reviews from previously satisfied customers, and after contacting a company I had used previously and got less than satisfactory answers from, I contacted Jeff, who answered promptly and gave me a straight forward quote for the services I needed.  I called back to schedule a Sat. appt.  Jeff was willing to work with my schedule, and his, as well, and we booked a service call.  He was friendly, on time, and, after describing what services were needed, promptly got to work rekeying the locks at my property.  He is a genuinely nice and decent person, adhered to his quote and went a bit above and beyond what I had requested.  I would highly recommend him for whatever lock smithing services you may need.

Lock is failing and these guys came by and said they would rather I just take the lock back to home depot than charge me anything. This is the type of service that everyone should offer. I highly recommend calling them for any locksmith needs.

Love supporting small businesses, so of course I turned to yelp when I locked myself out of my office! Jeff was here in 30 minutes, unlocked my lock in about 8 minutes and was out of here. Hands down the best locksmith I've ever used!  My front door lock mechanism broke one afternoon in such a way that I couldn't even shut the door much less lock it.  Jeff was there quickly and had it repaired in no time.  He was friendly and extremely reasonable.  I will never use another locksmith.

I lost my key during my weekend trip and realised at the middle of the night while returning. Found Jeff in Yelp and spoke to him. He was on time even at 12:00 AM Monday. I was really impressed by his work ethic. I'm from out of state and called Jeff to replace 10 locks on my father-in-law's home.  He showed up on time and provided excellent advice and service.  Jeff was up front about pricing and the total cost of the job.  He actually went above and beyond the requested job by handling some smaller challenges with doorknobs.  I wholeheartedly recommend Jeff for any locksmith related job.  If I ever need this type of service again I will definitely be calling him and recommending his services.  He is also a very friendly guy :)

Man, these reviews didn't lie! My husband and I just bought our 1st home and needed to get the locks changed. I went onto Yelp and couldn't believe Jeff and A 1 Minute key's reviews! We called him and he came that day to change all of our locks. He was awesome! Such a normal guy and way cool. He did everything so quickly, even fixed a door that wasn't aligned right. He also gave us some free security clips to put on our windows because we hadn't established our Security System yet and wanted us to have peace of mind.  SO NICE! Will definitely be using Jeff and A 1 Minute Key Service again!!! :)

This business is great in a crisis, I lost my car keys and had a million things planned for the day. One including taking family to the airport, I called and told them my story and they made very fast arrangements due my crisis and came right out. I have to give another yelp out to Jeff and A 1 Minute Key Service. Jeff changed out my locks earlier this year (see previous review) and I recently needed his services again. I locked my keys in the house on a Saturday while my husband and I were outside. Jeff was on his way to another call and then came straight over. He let us in and even fixed a lock that had been sticking due to the warming weather while he was at it. I can't say enough great things about him and his services. He's the only locksmith you'll ever need.

This was my first time ever losing my car keys and I didnt know where to turn.  Frustration abounds.  I checked out yelp find lockmiths in my area and saw that A 1 Minute Key Service has a 5 star rating.  Let me tell you that they have this rating for a reason.  Extremely professional courteous, timely and also HALF the price of what my insurance company quoted me for a locksmith to come out.  If I ever need a locksmith again (knock on wood)...I will call A 1 without a second thought.  Thank you!

Jeff is a real breath of fresh air. Very professional, really nice and very reasonable. He re-keyed my entire house, Changed out latches, bolts and put in a new deadbolt that he went out to find to match my door. He was here for quite a while, and he really wanted to make sure that all of the doors worked correctly and smoothly. He is really amazing. I wish all of my service contractors were like Jeff! Jeff and his team just left our house after spending hours re-keying our ancient locks and installing a new deadbolt and doorknob in our back door.  It was a huge undertaking and they did a fantastic job! We had 8 sets of doors, 2 of which we never had keys for, so he had to pick the locks.  He was very reasonable and an honest guy...and a super nice guy, as well! He worked to get us the best rate possible. I would completely recommend him and will definitely use him again should the need arise again.

Jeff didn't just rekey my 13 exterior locks, he tightened them all up on the doors, replaced a bolt, and kindly adjusted other hardware that wasn't part of the quote. This is the best locksmith experience I have EVER had. He came in under his quote, communicated well before and during the service, and was friendly throughout the entire process. I absolutely recommend him to anybody who needs any locksmithing service.

I would highly recommend Jeff of A-1 Minute Key Service.  After finding him on Yelp, I hired him to change my locks after tenants moved out of my property.  Jeff suggested that instead of replacing the locks, he could re-key them instead.  This would have the same effect on safety without the added cost of brand new locks.  In addition, Jeff met me at 6pm which was very accomodating of my work schedule.

On the biggest day from hell my day was topped off by being locked out of the house.  I looked at Yelp and Jeff came HIGHLY recommended. I called him at 12:10, told him what was going on.  He let me know what his availability was and he worked with me so he could get me in and I could make my appts and he could make his. He showed up on time and got me in quickly.  I loved that he asked for proof that it was my house, I showed him a picture of me that was on the wall. Jeff is a sweet buttercup of an angel. Just moved into a condo 2k from my parent's safe haven home. Jeff came over, met my very loving and very protective mother. He installed a new deadbolt, installed a pretty nifty deadbolt system on my two sliding doors, locks on my windows, and on my gate. His pricing was beyond reasonable, even offering cost saving alternatives. Jeff changed a bad lock and handle on the door going to the garage.  He is very knowledgeable and fixed a bedroom door which has been sticking at no charge.  We talked about him changing out all the door knobs in our house because we are switching from brass to brushed nickel but I had to order the door knobs first.  Now that they have arrived I am just getting ready to call Jeff back to come and change them out for us.  I would highly recommend him because he is professional, quick, and reasonable.

My friend Kevin, wife and daughter got locked out this evening as they came home in their new car and realized they had not fixed the key rings and the house keys where left home when they drove off.  I tried and Kevin tried everything we could think of to get in short of causing damage to the house or windows because EVERYBODY KNOWS how expensive lock smiths are, and EVERYBODY KNOWS how you can't trust them once they've been to your house.  

Well we had to call a locksmith and Kevin found this man with over a hundred reviews to be more assuring then those with 7 and not all as positive.  Jeff came out, charged us less than half what we where quoted else where, explained what he was doing and why he was doing it that way.  When offered other options, he did what we asked to please us then showed us better, in the end, he got my friend in his house plus made a few adjustments to the doors so they worked the way they should have in the beginning, another words better than new.

My thoughts, I hope I never need Jeff's help BUT if I do, I won't waste time trying to find other solutions, the time it takes Jeff to do the job right and the rates he charges, it really makes no sense wasting time or worrying, I have a few of his cards in my wallet just in case.

Wow...that pretty much sums up my experience with Jeff.  I'd never actually used Yelp before last night, and not sure what made me think to try it, but I'm SO happy I did.  My boyfriend had locked the keys in the car, and, instead of standing out in the rain arguing, I suggested we take a cab home, look up locksmiths and get some pricing because we are on a VERY tight budget.  I went with the first listing that came up, which was A 1, and I called and spoke to Jeff.  He was just finishing a job nearby, and even came by and picked up my boyfriend to take him to where we had left the car.  It took Jeff about 30 seconds to open the door, and he only charge $40!!  Other companies had quoted me a min. of $100.  Fast, great, reasonably priced service with a personal touch.  Couldn't be happier with Jeff, and am now a fervent Yelp fan.  AWESOME SERVICE!!  THANKS JEFF!

Recently moved into a new house (new to me) and needed the locks re-keyed.  Called four different businesses, and A 1 Minute Key Service had not only the best price but also the most flexibility - Jeff was willing to work after hours if needed at no extra charge.  Although A 1 isn't listed with the BBB, I decided to give them a try based on the high number of recent positive reviews, and am glad I did.  Jeff not only disassembled, cleaned/lubed, and re-keyed all of the lock assemblies, he also fixed a few problems that were the result of the previous installer's poor workmanship.  Jeff takes pride in the quality of his work, which is an attribute in short supply these days.  I've put A 1's number into my phone under "Locksmith" - in case I ever need one again, they're the ones I'm calling.

I needed all outside doors in my home rekeyed and found A1 on Yelp. I was almost suspicious of all of the glowing 5-star reviews, but it is legit. Jeff is very courteous and professional. I called on a Monday and he gave me a half-hour window when he could arrive at my house on Wednesday. He called on his way there and arrived by the designated time. He told me the cost in advance, which seemed very reasonable for the amount of time he spent rekeying everything. He was very personable and friendly. He also took extra time and effort to handle a few other issues - i.e. making an adjustment to a door so the lock would close more smoothly, tightening the brace that holds the screen door open, oiling the locks. He did not charge for these services, he just seemed interested in doing a great job and leaving my doors and locks in better shape than he found them. Very service oriented, efficient, and professional. I would recommend him absolutely.

I don't know where to begin. I wanted to find a locksmith to assist my son re-keying his new (and 1st) home. My son is 23, out on his own for the first time and I am over 1000 miles away. I have always had GREAT luck with YELP and the streak continues! Not only did Jeff arrange a call the day before, call when en route, show up on time and do what we had contracted him to do, he went above and beyond the call. He ran to a home improvement store a couple of times until he was sure my son had what he needed, he even helped him program his new garage door openers. My son would not hesitate to call Jeff again, even for a matter un-related to locks, as he just seems to be a Jack of all Trades - Master of All! Can't recommend Jeff highly enough.

I read some other reviews and thought "that's so true!  who finds a locksmith on yelp?" but I called A 1 Minute Key Service.  I had to, because all the OTHER locksmiths I called were overpriced and seemed to be all about the money, not about the service.  Jeff is a rare treat in today's business climate.  He is a professional, trustworthy, friendly guy who gives you a solid and competitive "not to exceed" quote and he sticks to the number he quotes you.  Then he points out issues that he thinks might trouble you in the future and you'll probably find yourself begging to reimburse him at least a few bucks when he offers to correct them free of charge or at a highly discounted rate.  When he left my house at about 9 pm, he was headed to TWO more jobs.  Bear in mind, he had been at it all day.  Don't bother calling anyone else, because this is the kind of guy whose business you want to support.

We read all the positive reviews, so decided to try Jeff at A1.  He was able to get out the day we called, although he was already very booked.  Jeff fixed our lock immediately and then turned his attention to the other lock on the door which we don't use because it hasn't worked in so long.  Jeff said it was bugging him and he wanted to fix it but wouldn't charge us.  He is a very nice, professional and reasonably priced. Don't even hesitate. Just call him!

The best! I quickly searched for a locksmith on Yelp hoping to find anyone with a decent rating but after seeing their high rating I figured I had to see what it was about. I find it almost odd that I'm so excited to write this review but they really are great. Super fast, very cheap, and pleasant to work with. I know I can always count on yelp to find fast and reliable service for just about anything and once again, you didn't let me down.  I just bought a house and we all know how that goes: a new stress every day.  The only things that weren't stressful were the services I found on yelp.  A-1 Minute Key Service and Jeff, the owner were great!  I made an appointment the same day and he arrived on time, despite having to drive through rush hour traffic on I-10.  He came in, I showed him the doors and locks and he went to work.  The whole process took about a half hour.  Jeff told me the costs up front and there was no surprises, and it was very affordable.  Jeff is an honest guy.  He asked where I found him, I said yelp, and then he handed me a $10.  I didn't know about a promo he had going on and he easily didn't have to own up to his discount, but he did.  Thanks again yelp and thank you Jeff.  Much appreciated!

Yes, we too, found our locksmith on Yelp!  Jeff and Michael did an outstanding job.  They showed up on time, provided excellent service, were respectful and knowledgeable, charged very fair prices, and they cleaned up after themselves.  What more could you ask for?  These guys are very thorough, detail-oriented and efficient.  They don't rush through a job, they make sure they get it right the first time and we appreciate that!

I decided to call Jeff after seeing the reviews on yelp, and I must say-they are all well deserved.  He arrived on time, was very friendly and professional and made sure I was comfortable with the new set-up.  I even had him do a couple of last minute extra things, and he didn't even blink an eye.  Hiring a locksmith can be a little scary, and I was happy that I chose Jeff and his company.  I will be sure to call him again if I ever need a locksmith.  Thank you Jeff.

Jeff came when promised, solved the problem of a slightly faulty deadbolt promptly and cheerfully, and did so for a reasonable price. What more can you ask for.  I highly recommend his services.

I needed to change the locks on a new house and Jeff was great!  I was able to make a next day appointment.  He called to let me know that he was stuck in traffic due a closed road and called again to let update his ETA.  Communication was excellent!   He did a great job with the locks and went out of his way to repair two door jambs  to make them close easier.  I wouldn't have thought the door jamb repair was even part of his job, and he didn't even charge extra for the work.  It's clear he takes pride in doing a quality job.  He spent the time to make sure the job was done right.  He was friendly, personable and the price was very reasonable.  I've never written a review before, but Jeff deserves to get a great one.  He should give lessons to others in the service industry!

I called A 1 Minute Key Service to rekey two gate locks. I mentioned to Jeff that I was having an issue with one of the doors. But, I should have contractor in a week or fixing it. And, he said he would look at it to make sure he can rekey it. By the time, Jeff was done. He rekeyed the two locks and fixed the door. No need for another contractor. He was fantastic, highly responsive, knowledgeable and reasonable rates.

I had my locks changed about a month ago when I purchased a new home.  Based on these reviews, I decided to call Jeff.  He was very pleasant, took the time to go with me to purchase the locks I wanted, and his prices were very competitive.  I will definitely be calling him again. I read the reviews on Yelp for Jeff at A-1 Minute Key Service Locksmith.  I am so glad I read the nice reviews because I called him yesterday regarding a problem I had with my deadbolt.  He arranged to come out today, promptly at the time he said he would.  He looked at the deadbolt and got right to work on fixing the problem.  He made me some new keys in addition to repairing the deadbolt.  He was efficient and made sure everything worked for me.  He was finished quickly.  I was impressed with his skill and his price!  He is an all around nice person who takes pride in what he does.  I recommend him if you are looking for a locksmith.

Literally the day after I installed a deadbolt on my patio door, I locked myself out of my house.  "Jeff 2" (as he called himself) was on another job when I called, but still arrived within 30 minutes.  He got me unlocked, and have me some good tips.  He even went above and beyond by adjusting my door to make the lock week smoothly.  Cute pictures drawn by his daughter in his van.  Friendly, efficient, and trustworthy. I hope I'm never in this situation again,  but if I am,  I'll call them in a flash.

Look no further! Jeff was awesome.  My husband wasn't home when Jeff came over to change our locks (he was at work - I wasn't trying to lock him out, I swear!) and I felt completely safe with Jeff in our home.  He wasn't sketchy, his prices were good, and he was on-time!

Called Jeff based upon the reviews here and was not disappointed.  Prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and reasonable prices.  I have used a couple of other locksmiths in recent years will substantially less than stellar results.  Jeff was infinitely better than the other groups.

Just moved into a new house, and used Yelp to find a trusted locksmith.  The reviews are correct!  Jeff was fantastic.  He called twice to let me know his exact arrival time, was quick and worked to save me money.  And he even mentioned the 10% off discount!  It was truly a pleasure, and I know not only will I go to him in the future, but I will recommend him to friends and family.  Thank you Jeff!!!

My primary residence had at least three different keys for the various lockable doors. There are literally dozens and dozens of locksmiths in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The challenge was to select a locksmith that I could rely on. I read about A 1 Minute Key Service on Yelp and was impressed with the many positive reviews. I contacted Jeff, described the costs and services involved and I  set up an appointment. Jeff was on time for the appointment and went straight to work. He completely re-keyed 15 locks, made new keys and replaced a broken door knob/lock in less than three hours. Jeff was very professional; the cost to re-key the entire house was very reasonable. I would recommend Jeff's locksmith services to anyone.

My wife and I wish all service people were like Jeff.  We live in another state and have a home in Phoenix that we had some problems with (tenant).  Jeff met my wife's sister at the house after-hours and then when the tenant surprised them by being there (she had abandoned the house a few days earlier), Jeff stayed with my sister-in-law to make certain she was safe, and then he returned the next day to meet her to change out the locks.  He was professional, friendly, and really went beyond the call of duty to help us.  His fees are fair and he certainly deserves the excellent reputation he has developed. We can only give him our highest rating.  He is a rare find in the service industry.
